Holley Canal Falls in Holley
I love the canal falls. The main trail is great for a nice stroll but is also good for a brisk or speed walk. Today I watched some folks fishing for salmon, of which there were many., some fairly large. Two of the fishing folks snagged one each while I was there. The leaves are in great color now. Also looking forward to what the town has in mind for the excavation of the old canal loop.
I have done several photo sessions here and the view is absolutely amazing. The falls is awesome and stunning. Theres a bridge and some rocks that are great. Theres a wooded area in the back that is great for photos too. If youre looking to get photos done, I highly recommend this place. My name is Seeloff Photography.
Nice little park with lots to look at and do. Its the Canal, falls are pretty and theres a small pond and creek. Lots of places to fish. There is a short walking trail, just the right length for my 6 and 8 year-old, that goes through the woods. (There are small trails that veer off near the edge, so be careful, but the main trail is safe.)Nice playground with swings. Bathroom is near the canal parking lot, was clean and nice.
The red dirt was a fun surprise! Not something that you see everyday. Being at the top of the waterfall was exhilarating and tranquil; to watch the water cascade from a high perspective was mesmerizing. The main trail loop can be walked quickly but you could spend hours here walking the many branching and looping trails - there are a lot of them to explore. Also, you can make a quick detour and be on the canal trail!
I was dissapointed but maybe its just not what I was looking for. It was a beautiful day and I wanted an easier hiking trail to enjoy it. You can drive right up to the falls, so no trail to walk. It was crowded and hard to get a picture without stangers in it. It was stinky (?) There must have been sewer access nearby. The falls were beautiful, but the rest of the experience made it not worth the drive.
Aka Canal Park on Gmaps. This Falls park is separate from the Holley Canal Park up the hill from here. Its entrance is hidden behind the Holley Apothecary & Village garage, downhill curvy driveway.Only uphill walking trails connect the 2 parks. Theres falls-side picnic tables, benches & a big pavilion across the wooden ♿ accessible bridge & walking trails alongside the water above & below the falls. Fishing is allowed & theres a porta john on site. Many people have held their wedding photo shoots here with the falls. This wooded glen park offers a lot of shade, along with the open full sun falls. Playground for kids & upper park is only accessible by uphill walking trails or going around to the main Canal Park entrance at the end of Perry St.
Beautiful place! Camping for the night beside the canal. Listening to the falls, so peaceful! The locals were friendly, nice conversations & helpful. The park and our site were very well kept. Police drove by a few times to check up.Family from Wisconsin, passing thru to Maine. Thanks for having us!
We stared going here back as Teenagers when it was just woods , Now it is an Amazing Park that has become the Pride of the Area. Every October while I do my fall Motorcycle ride around NY I stop on the park for Lunch. Just a very Beautiful and Relaxing spot!!! Great Job Holly!!!
We held our son and future daughter-in-laws bridal shower here. We had amazing weather. The site was clean and large enough to fit in everone under the pavilion. We really needed either a larger grill or an additional one. Im not a fan of port-a-potties at all so if you arent either be sure to take business before you go there. But lets face it, Holley Canal Falls is a beautiful place to spend some time, no matter the occasion. Ill be back again and again.

2022-05-20Just over the border of Monroe County into Orleans lies this treasure, a small park featuring a beautiful waterfall. Its usually quiet and not very busy. One of my favorite places to get away.

2022-02-04Just beautiful. Needed the walkway shoveled, but I believe it is seasonal upkeep.

2021-08-13This was a really nice Falls. I did not read it at 4 star because I would like it to be fresh clean water that you can stand under and I like to be able to take a long hike to the falls. This was in a park sitting.

2022-06-24It’s nice. Bring bug spray. Fishing is okay depending on season and water level. The falls are really pretty for picture taking. Kid friendly area. No playgrounds or anything but just a nice place to have a picnic or walk down the side trails. There is usually a porta potty in the parking lot. Not a huge parking lot but comfortable for many visitors. Police frequent the area a lot so it’s fairly safe. Plus nobody bothers anyone. Friendly people. People having fun. Not a spot to spend a whole day unless you plan to fish for a while, take a walk, picnic and fish more.

2022-03-08Great place to get pictures. Especially in the winter with the ice formations around the falls.

2021-07-07Its a small but nice waterfall, if your in the local area and like waterfalls then I would check it out. You can drive right up to it. They have some picnic benches, fishing and a few other things around or near it.Went back to the falls again a 2nd time, they have trials that take you up to the top of the falls. However there are no signs or maps to show you how to navigate around. As we walked around you can see the water fall is most likely man made.

2020-09-27We took the short hike around the back of the falls and saw so many beautiful creatures! Frogs, chipmunks, blue Heron! Gorgeous park trail which leads to the canal. Then we strolled through the adorable town to get back to the park. It looks like a movie set. Really nice way to spend a day.
