My son was at this facility after having double leg amputation in 2018. He was temporarily placed at Holliswood by his social workers at the Veterans Administration. My son was well taken care of and loved the staff at the facility. He said the food was very good. When I visited him I saw the friendly interaction between the staff and Robert. Unfortunately my son passed away there July 4 and I cannot express my gratitude to them for calling me at 3am so I can get there to see him. They were most kind to me during those difficult moments. I will be forever grateful.
This is the most amazing place I have ever seen! My grandfather is currently residing there, and the Administrator, Dovid Liff, is taking the upmost care of him, making sure all his needs are met and constantly putting a smile on his face! Every time I talk with my grandfather on the phone, he tells me how good everyone there is to him, and how much he loves this place! I wish I could give it 100 stars! Thank you Dovid for all you do for my grandfather and my family!
The experience at Holliswood center is wonderful. The staff there go out of their way to care for the residents. From Housekeeping, to Dietary, Rehab and Nursing, you will feel so comfortable knowing your loved one is being cared for there.
The entire staff at holliswood care center is very considerate. The Director of the facility is in touch w/ the residents and will accommodate you in time of need. He is never too busy to leave his office to allow you to speak to your loved ones if thats what it takes to keep in touch.
Clean, caring, and kind - My aunt and I visited her sister after she was moved here and we could not be happier with the experience. She has been in countless nursing homes in the past 4 years and this was by far the nicest. The nursing, rehab, and social services staff were incredible. All of the staff knew her by name and treated her with respect and dignity. The nurses on 3, Christine in social work, The OT, PT, and SLP all went above and beyond for us during our visit. Her room was clean and above all else, she was happy!We are so grateful that our loved one is well taken care of at Holliswood. Thank you to all of the staff members, custodial staff, and transportation staff - your hard work shows and it is SO appreciated!

Would definitely recommend this nursing home to others. My mom is at Holliswood and the customer service and care is really great. Ms Ramos, the director of nursing is hands on and takes care of everything that we requested.5 star facility
Great area to stay at with amazing staff that work here. My mother is currently in this facility and every time I come visit her she is always happy.
This place is overcrowded and understaffed. My uncle hates it. His television has not been working ever since he was admitted, a year ago. I tried several times to call my uncle but I cant talk to him. The staff puts me on hold for over 15 minutes so I hang up. I hope I can talk to him someday. I went to see him before the pandemic. Ive heard on the news that there were cases of covid 19 in that nursing home so I was worried. This place needs a serious renovation and hire more staff to tend to the patients needs. I will not recommend this place. Its very depressing to be there. Its not a good place for your loved one. I hope the administration will do something about it. I told my cousin, his son, to move my uncle to another nursing home. I hope one day he will.
Holliswood Center is an amazing Nursing facility that will provide quality care of your loved one. The care by the staff is unparalleled. Operationally, it is run extremely well by the Administrator and his assistant and they will do whatever it takes to make yours or your loved ones stay a pleasant one at Holliswood Center!

Research this place on U.S. news their opinions are honest and non biased. From what I have read this not a facility where anyone would want someone they love cared for. PERIOD!!!!

Grateful, my family member survived the first round..after notice certain staff entering the building with no mask on..how can you play a recording while family is place on hold , which the Social Service Dept never picks up or callback this Department needs a serious overhaul , in fact the Administration needs to be evaluated..l think their not dedicate to serve the family needs . Call Holliswood is like play ping pong. Back to the recordering of Ms. B. Michelle play while you wait , note she hasnt worked there in about two year.Yes she was dedicate and the Staff under her..l have been waiting most of the Pause for a call back ..Social Services is horrible are you sure they can handle their job..Then they need to step up. Glad tap dancer C. Jimnez took a leave of absence, l wonder if she miss the vending machine. My point either show Compassion during this time or retrain your staff . 1 star is for the staff that cares, praying they have a safe reopen , most of all praying for the residents..but my family is going to be moved ASAP..no response is needed, it will make me write more!!!
Horrible facility, if i can give this facility a quarter of a star i would. The Nurse Director Ms. Ramos, PT, NP communication is below standards, I wasnt able to speak to my mother the times i called this facility, i never had a video chat with my mother and that was never offered to me. Social worker did a poor job in communicating, i called multiple times for answer regarding my mother health, each time i called i wasnt able to get any information. Went to visit the facility 3 times to get info on my mother each time i came i received no info. If you want your relatives to live peacefully and cared for and continous communicating removed them from this facility dont even think about this facility. HOLLISWOOD CARE CENTER IS HORRIBLE.
Since my aunt has been placed in this facility I was a little afraid because of the covert 19 outbreak but upon direct contact with Mr. Dobbit the director. Dealing with him he has given me his personal cell phone number he has personally greeted me In assuring me the details of my aunt state of being. He is tentative to my concerns for my family member. Which I am grateful to have a staff member who cares and takes the time to call back and shares in my interests with my aunt condition and wellness. I appreciate you Mr. Dobbit.
If you love you family member try to care for them yourself at home.This isnt a safe place for your loved one . Only great thing about this place is the Physical Therapy Staff who are very caring. Some of the Nursing Staff is just there and others do care l would say 5% and the CNA pray you have one that has compassion. The Medical Staff is rate as a 1 in my book . Place your family member here you better be prepared for battle because you will find a battle here. Core value are poor in a patient care. Yes if l could give a 0 l would .Note l had meet a Head Nurse that was caring, but she no longer there she was about the patient dignity and care , but l guess the lazy nurses/cna or mangement didnt care for a Leader who push them to do their job correctly. With compassion and care. I would say more but l am deal with the nelgect of my family member in other ways. Note minimum wage is $15.00 a hour in NY and some of the staff need to be working somewhere else.(5 stars) because the staff love their job , well practice what you claim to love so much!!!

Was looking around for a place for my dad to go to for rehab and I can tell you that Im a little concerned to see that many of the 4-5 star reviews are coming from employees and not other families. Are they paying or reimburing their employees to write good things about this place?? Even their CMS score is 1 out of 5. Not sure whats going on here but it seems really fishy and not very ethical.
I went to visit a friend and I was greeted by the wonderful admissions girl Nicole. The atmosphere is great and it always seems like there is something to do. Whether it’s the monthly birthday parties or the ponies, my friend had a great stay at Holliswood.
The staff is great they treat my mother very well. I visit my mother everyday.They even give me food to eat, that depends whos in charge of the floor that day. If you are looking for a place to put your love ones I highly recommend holliswood!
ONE STAR TOO MANY!!!My loved one was at this rehabilitation center not even a week before I called 911 and had her rushed to the ER. They were extremely rude, insensitive, and they have no business working with individuals who are unable to care for themselves. This place caused severe trauma to my loved one, in which she needed several months of proper care to recover from having only been there for about 5-6 days. I’m seriously thinking of bringing them up on charges and a law suit for the pain and suffering they Inflicted on my loved one. They need new management and new staff in order to revamp this facility, so this situation or something worse will never happen again. Because what will be next? Someone losing their life because of the INCOMPETENCE of this staff!

The food has been very good. The nursing staff is very pleasant and attentive. The rehab department is excellent, especially Paul. I would highly recommend Holliswood.
You know I must love my job as well as my residents. Im at work 15-30 minutes before my start time. I have fun with my residents on a daily basis. Great place to work.
Dovid and Jeremy are great administrators. They are extremely dedicated to ensuring that the patients get home quickly and safely!
I have a close friend of mine in this facility. Shes been there for over 2 years now. Shes completely dependent on the faculty to assist her. Ive never heard her complain about the facility, speak of neglect or miss treatment.
Horrible Staff and Administration! Im not sure where to even begin, the people who work here are extremely unprofessional ESPECIALLY Valerie and Ken. They are bullies who do NOT care for their employees or how hard they work because they just sit behind a desk. DO NOT WORK HERE IF YOU HAVE ANY RESPECT FOR YOURSELF! They speak to you like youre a child or a criminal OR even worse do not care your not paid for days you work and are very hurtful and rude.

Can never get in touch with relative, especially on first try.. Either get hung up on or transferred then hung up on. Sometimes told person doesnt exist when Ive talked with relative. Poor telephone customer service

2021-12-09My mother has been a patient here for approximately four weeks and has been very happy. The entire staff is friendly and kind. The nurses are very caring and knowledgeable and I can relax knowing that she is in good hands. This facility is top-notch and, if you are searching for a nursing home and/or rehabilitation center, I highly recommend it.12/9/2021 Update - After approximately 8 weeks of receiving excellent care and physical therapy, my mom was strong enough to go home. Everyone at this facility, from the cleaning staff to the doctors and everyone in between, was outgoing and helpful. I am very grateful to the entire staff.

2021-06-15Holliswood Center is an incredible facility. My grandfather is currently in rehab there and we cannot say enough good things about the staff and care that he is receiving. He is improving and making great progress there everyday, and he sounds really happy every time I speak to him. The administrator, Dovid, is top and runs the place very impressively. Thank you to all the staff there for all your hard work!

2021-06-15My husband has had other rehab experiences but the care and attention he is receiving at Holliswood Center is so exceptional that I am also able to relax. Personal attention to cleanliness ,and grooming, attention to his diet needs and excellent occupational therapy and physical therapy are helping him regain his mobility and he is actually happy there.while building strength to return home. Holliswood Center offers the finest rehab we have ever had.

2021-08-31My mom staying there since covid started in march 2020. We was able to visit her after May 2021 . When she came to the visiting room ,she was wearing some one else clothes . We understood that a year passed and may be she lost her clothes. Next 2 visits we brought her a new clothes . For 3 visits she still was wearing some one else clothes . I complained to the recreation staff but looks like they didnt care . This is terrible feelings when you do not see her room , how she is living there and what happening to every package we bringing for her . I wish to all staff have same feelings as me . Its very upsetting .

2021-09-21This place is Not someWhere I would recommend to Anyone!...I just finished my CNA Course and had to Complete my internship here. The 4 days I spent Assisting at this place Told me Alot. Some ofThe women Workers here are very Disrespectful. And do not treat patients With Love and Concern. They rush them to eat, I saw this lady just Stuffing a patients mouth with food, I felt So bad. I thought the patient was choking...I Assisted another Woman with giving a patient a bath. The patient dropped one of her Clothing on the Floor and the Worker just started cursing at her. It made me feel uncomfortable. And I just also witnessed alot of Rough handling with the patients. ..they had not Patience for them what so ever. I said to myself. I Would never Bring anyone I love or know to this placeTheirs Workers in their that should probably be in jail right now.Do Better!

2021-05-10Its May 10, 2021 and my love one has fallen twice within a month, developed an infection for lack of water, lost 35-45 pounds and is being allowed by the nursing home to die slowly by starvation. Only been there for a couple of months and my family member complained about being push and shoved by staff who also talks horribly in my love ones presence. My family member is malnourished, dehydrated and not being watched. Medical/health needs not being address. Important staff will not return your call and when you do finally speak with them some are very disrespectful. If they speak to us horribly, how do you think they speak to our love ones when we are not around. Why do they take these jobs if they dont like it or know how to treat the elderly and sick. This place is horrible. Im working to move my family member before its too late.

2021-06-15I work in the Nursing Home industry and I needed to find placement for my Grandfather. At times like these Nursing Homes can be a scary place to send a loved one. There is no other place I would trust my Grandfather being cared for other than Holliswood Center. Dovid Liff the Administrator is on his A game all the time. The staff here have been nothing but extremely helpful and kind.

2020-10-01Tiffany James is very nice and kind with the patients and very knowledgeable and is very supportive with not only my family but with others I have seen through family council. I recommend holliswood because of her. My mother has been here for years and I love the staff. I am so glad that Tiffany has been promoted and we need more people like her to be apart of the Holliswood Team.
