Important historical monument. Very informative, a must for people learning.
There is a nice walk way around sheepshead bay. You can park car allows the street,Friday to Sunday, expect from May to September. Check the signs before park.

The Holocaust Memorial Park is a meaningful and educational gem in Brooklyn (NY). Historical WW II events are conveyed in brief passages on the stone markers that surround the impressive central torch monument. Overlooking the foot of Sheepshead Bay, a most idyllic spot in NYC, it is a fitting place for reflection and remembrance.The Park pays homage to the victims of the Holocaust and to the large community of Holocaust witness-survivors who live in NYC.Outdoors, 24/7, all ages, benches, water fountain, street parking, near subways. Swans and nearby fishing vessels add to the experience.
This is a great relaxing area to be at! Try not to come here at 2:00 As that is when the students get released, it can get a bit hectic. You should definitely come here when the weather is great.
Nice area near the water docks .. birds in the water cute ducklings .. several different types of eateries located around the area. There is a tattoo parlor in the area. Flowers sold at reasonable prices, supermarkets beautifully set up.

It appears some visitors dont understand the purpose of this memorial. No, it is not a park, it is a solemn memorial to the victims of German White Supremacy gone wild. The annihilation of most of European Jewry. The pretty view is not what you come here for.
Extremely well done, moving memorial to Holocaust victims. You could spend an hour or two reading the inscriptions on the headstone-like tablets and contemplating human beings capacity for evil. I have been here multiple times & each time see writing on a headstone that I had not noticed before. Worth taking the Q train to Sheepshead Bay or Brighton Beach.
Its just a little park at the end of Sheepshead Bay. Unfortunately if you get there at dusk theres a good chance youll be eaten alive by mosquitoes. But there are some swans and actually egrets yes I said egrets to be seen just hanging about
Very nice place just to take a load off and relax with a beautiful view of the bay and the boats. Use to go to schools cross the street in 1977 so it feels like home to me.
It was a small park but made a powerful point of bringing out the tragedy of so much loss of life and communities due to the Holocaust tragedy and the people who sacrificed to hide and save people. Those are remembered and never forgotten.
A very noisy and dirty place. The water in the canal itself near the park is very dirty.
What a pleasant spot for this memorial park. On Rosh Hashanah we walked to this spot to throw our sins into the bay. A Rabbi spoke about the tradition and we then cast away our wrong soings!
Great Park to be in warm weather. The history behind this park is amazing too since its build on the filled in park of what used to be Coney Island creek.

I always spend time in The Holocaust Memorial reading signes I recommend to do it with the next (and next) generations, so the Holocaust will never be forgotten and, therefore, repeated.

A small park overlooking the bay, many shops and in the center of the monument to the victims of the Holocaust. On the water, many ducks and swans swim which you can feed. We bought a loaf of bread and the child with great pleasure fed it all to the birds.
I like to walk around the place, and then you find Restaurant, Russo shops to buy clothes, and if you fancy a yogurt with geni fruit it is very cheap, you do not need to have a lot of money to be in this place.,

2022-05-28We did not expect to see this small but impactful memorial as we took a walk along the bay. Very sad and very informative. Different sized headstones with short stories about the people, towns, events and history of the Holocaust. Quotes from Edward R. Murrow, the story of Anne Frank, the history of the Warsaw ghetto uprising. Some of the stones were written in Hebrew while most were in English. I would highly recommend.

2022-04-29I give this Monument those 5 stars because of its importance. The memory of the atrocities perpetrated against the Jews and other millions by the nazis (LOWER-case n intentional) should not only NEVER be forgotten by those who lived during and those who survived that horrible era, but should be passed along to the generations born afterwards. The current genocide situation in Ukraine and the rise of swastika-represented hate groups in the US and other countries does not bode well for preventing other revivals of the attitude of intolerance that brought the Holocaust about. Worse yet, these groups tout their philosophy as patriotism. What it really is, is HATEriotism. All those displaying hate symbols are--every one of them--negating The Greatest Generation that fought to eliminate the regime responsible for the Holocaust and liberate those who went on to rebuild the world with hope for a better future.
