Went for dinner here for the first time. The ordering system was a bit confusing. Even though we were led to a table, we had to order food at the counter. I ordered pork, beef, chorizo tacos and a hibiscus margarita. The pork and beef tacos were okay. The chorizo taco was really great though. It seemed to have more toppings and a nice toasted tortilla unlike the beef or pork ones for some reason. The drink was a bit too strong.
I don’t understand these reviews. The drinks were mediocre and the food wasn’t much better. We had almost every taco on the menu and they just weren’t very good. Definitely not worth the price point. The best part of the meal were the chips and pico.We found it annoying to have to order food and drinks from separate locations, while waiting for the bartender to bus tables.Probably won’t return unless we hear it gets better.Edit after owners reply, the point was the food was bad, ~$5 a taco isn’t the problem.
Hate to say it but we hyped this place up just because it was a “Mexican restaurant”. We tried the braised beef tacos, refried pintos, churros, cheese quesadilla and good thing we tried everything we did because we will not be going back to this place EVER. We did not like any of these. They must have all had Covid when they made these items because they had no taste. They need someone else to make their menu. The quesadilla was soft and hot , it wasn’t great…when I think of a quesadilla I think of crispy burrito shell with cheese and whatever else you want to put in there. The refried beans weren’t horrible, but could’ve been maybe just a little thicker. This is not your typical “Mexican” restaurant and we should have went inside before deciding to order online. 2022-01-25If youre looking for a place where they love tacos and love Buffalo equally, Hombre y Lobo is your place! Ryan and Isaac are great, and Christina is one of the coolest bartenders around. The drinks and the food are fresh and delicious, and the restaurant is gorgeous. Check them out anytime, but make sure to check them out before or after a baseball game this Spring! I will definitely come back in the future! (Honestly, I didnt take a picture of my tacos before I inhaled them, but trust me... theyre amazing!)

2022-02-02Such a fun time at a great new spot downtown. It was my first time coming here and I already can’t wait to come back.Upon entering I couldnt help but notice that the space was bright, happy, colorful and cozy. They made great use of a smaller space. It reminded me of a chic NYC layout. If you come during dinner rush you might have to wait for a seat. It shouldnt be too long, this is a fast casual ish kind of spot with the perks of a really cute bar. The staff was very helpful and attentive. They made sure to clean up the dining room so new guests could be seated quickly.Now for the food, I went with a friend and we loved the menu. It was a mix of traditional Latin ingredients and dishes and also some Buffalo/ American ingredients prepared in Mexican style dishes. Def a neat way to present the food and a great way to make sure there was something for everyone. We both ordered the house margarita with Loganberry. Wow, this was awesome. Not too sweet, just enough loganberry to cut the acid of the lime, add some flavor and beautiful color. We had the chips and salsa, which was wonderful. The chips were freshly fried and crisp, the perfect amount of salt. We chose the pico salsa, fresh and bright, and the tomatillo, just enough spice to make it interesting. For my taco I had the carnitas, very nice portion, juicy and great flavor. I was still hungry so I ordered the birria ramen, wonderful, savory and complex flavor with the right amount of spice. I loved the play on the traditional birria in a bowl of ramen. The only thing Ill say is that the taco and birria were quite salty. The flavors were on point but less salt would have made them perfect. Im sure things are being worked out in the kitchen since they are new and this wont deter me from coming back again soon. So many other great menu items Id like to try like the chorizo, Chivetta chicken and mushroom tacos.Pro tip: Every Tuesday is taco Tuesday, $1 off tacos!

2021-11-30Ill live to regret giving a great review for Hombre y Lobo because Ill never get a seat again!But they are a new restaurant bar and the food was delicious and the drinks were great.Definitely a much-needed venue in the neighborhood and with authentic Mexican food.I highly recommend that you get some delicious takeout so I can still get a seat.Ok? 2022-04-04What a great boutique restaurant!!! Atmosphere is chill and cool but the staff is also really friendly. I ordered from the Happy Hour menu and House Marg was amazing! Will definitely have to return and try more of the menu.

2022-07-24Food was fabulous!!!!! Must try the buffalo chicken taco. Wing sauce fabulous. The fresh guacamole- one of the best Ive ever tasted. Oooo- chips yummy, too! Spicy Margarita! Delicious!! One is not enough! Atmosphere- cheerful- bright! If I lived in the area, definitely would be one of my favorite eateries. Bravo!!! Hombre y Lobo!!! The Owners, Ryan and Isaac - quite wonderful!!!!!

2021-11-20Ordered via Uber eats for pick up and had the Buffalo chicken tacos. They were $5.50 each which seems a little overpriced but it is what it is. The tacos were good and though the Buffalo sauce flavor on the chicken was a little drowned out with all the other things on the taco (blue cheese and the toppings), it was a delicious.

2022-02-02What a really nice spot to get your Taco fix. Tuesdays is designated as Taco Tuesdays, so you get $1 off all tacos. The restaurant is on the smaller side, so it can get a quite crowded pretty fast. Also the parking can be challenging during these busy times. If your going to come here during Taco Tuesdays or the weekend. I strongly advise you to car pool or catch an Uber.Quesadilla (chicken) - Very good.. I loved how the cheese was just the right amount, and the shell was nice and crispy. Just a heads up, there is a $2 up charge for the chickenTacos (fish)- I am normally not into spicy foods. But this taco had just the right amount of heat. The taco was so good I shouldve ordered 5 more.Margarita (loganberry)- the drinks are on point.. If your into margaritas, you will be completely satisfied. The loganberry margarita has a $1 up charge.

2021-11-05Went there with my family and the food and atmosphere were excellent. The employees were on point and friendly. The decorations and colors set a great vibe and it felt warm and comfortable. We tried the Baja, Chiavetta’s, Pork and Braised Beef tacos. We also got an order of the Shishito peppers and for dessert we had the Churros. All the food was delicious. The drink menu is also fantastic and the different margaritas were fun to try and tasted great. I’d totally recommend checking this place out.

2022-07-22The Google reviews are OBVIOUSLY pumped up by friends of the owners, otherwise, an unusual number of these reviews were done by people who mention the owners by name. *red flag*We tried a second time. The food is still overpriced, bland and mediocre at best… rubbery, undercooked tortillas must be their signature.There is NO POSSIBLE WAY food consistently this bad earned 4.8 out of 5 stars unless they are all planted by friends.You had two chances. You got three strikes. It would have been two, but since the rules let you sway the numbers in your favor, in this case, you get three strikes on two pitches.Seriously… your food is bad.

2022-04-28Went for the first time last night and it will definitely not be our last! The food was done to perfection and the margaritas were some of the best that weve had. Very authentic flavors and fun atmosphere. 10/10 recommend!
