HPS is great! We have a ton of pets and often buy crickets here. Also they helped us set up our first fish tank and have advised is on each aspect of putting the tank ecosystem together. Super friendly and very helpful!
Great staff my favorite pet store around! Craig is awesome he will go out his way to help you anyway he can! I have a German Shepherd with epi and I ask a lot of questions. He always helps steer me in the best direction and if theres a question he doesn’t know he will go out his way to find me the answer! Thanks to him and the others on the staff I have a happy and healthy dog!! Couldn’t thank them enough!!
Love the Loyalty Program that accrues through dry food purchases. Love that they carry Fromm in the varieties I need. Helpful staff. Im not sacrificing food and supplements and treat options shopping here as opposed to a chain.
Great place to get your pets food. Staff is very friendly they also offer a rewards when you purchase over a certain amount of dog or cat food you get a free bag depending on the size. Prices are fair lots of toys, treats accessories for your pets. Have a bin of items that are for sale in the front. You can always call ahead If you have no time to go in and they will hold the bag for you.
Cool store, lots of fish and products, a little overcrowded but still have nice selection, fish are a little cramped but all looked healthy as can be!! Would come back and recommend!

The staff could care less. Gal and guy at the counter without a clue. Bought a bird toy for my big bird which will be gone in a day. Asked if they still could bring in goofy links, a more durable plastic toy. Girl looked at the guy and he said I dont think so. Im sure he had no idea what I was talking about Mentioned to the girl at the checkout that it would be nice to see a better selection of big bird toys. My bird would destroy any of the ones here quickly. She says to me I dont know. What kind of reaction is that. Not only did she ask me If I wanted a receipt , she asked me if I wanted a bag. Have we gone so far from customer service that suggestions dont matter and we dont automatically get a bag when we purchase something. The store has a lot of items in it, but its overpriced. I believe in buying local, but when you hire a staff who doesnt care I must choose to spend my money elsewhere. Very poor experience.
Very crowded and unorganized in the store. the employee working couldn’t be older than 18 and was standing there staring into space while we were asking for help. poor fish selection. when we had to check out the cashier mumbled how much we needed to pay and we had to ask him multiple time how much it was. when we gave him the money he rolled his eyes, shrugged his shoulders and made a rude remark of some sort.
The staff here is extremely helpful, knowledgable, and kind. A least one of the staff at any time could provide you expertise on any kind animal that is sold there. I love supporting this small local business and have only received top notch animals from them!

This posting is a direct response to the person who posted the negative review about this stores reptiles (bearded dragons and crested geckos) as it is full of innacurate information and lies.Lie #1..Yes, baby bearded dragons can potentially get impaction from sand. But you are incorrect about this store putting baby bearded dragons on sand. This store has ALWAYS used paper towel as substrate for baby bearded dragons for the last 19 years and NEVER used sand for baby bearded dragons. It is something communicated and stressed to every single customer that buys one. So your statement of it being a novice mistake is completely false. The picture you posted is a picture of an adult bearded dragon on crushed walnut shell, not sand, which is fine for an adult. You said it was sand, when it was not. Why not post a picture of the tank with the baby bearded dragons that were on paper towel since that would have shown how the store really houses baby bearded dragons?Lie #2....In your picture you can see the tank says, crickets and lettuce, not just lettuce.This store has NEVER used iceberg lettuce which is 90% water. This store uses romaine, green leaf, red leaf and other assorted dark greens and veggies. This store has ALWAYS made it clear that customers should never use iceberg lettuce because it is mostly made up of water. Just because the tank says lettuce doesnt mean that they use iceberg lettuce, that is an innacurrate assumption.Lie# 3....The empty crested gecko tank is empty because it was sold, not because it died. I actually know the person who bought the gecko and said she is doing very well and would verify they purchased the gecko from that tank if you like.Lie # 4....The crested gecko tank, as seen in your picture, while lacking greenery, does have a hide as can be clearly seen. You said there were no hides, but there were. While that tank had no greenery, the other crested tanks do have greenery. Greenery has since been added to the crested gecko tank that was lacking it. Regarding the siize of the tank....it is more then large enough for one crested gecko that is temporarily housed.Its very disapointing to see someone post inaccuracies or flat out lies at the expense of a store. Wouldnt you have better served your cause by just talking with someone in the store rather then posting inaccurate information and lies and calling them pieces of garbage? You should really be ashamed for posting such incorrect and inaccurate information. This store has a very positive history and reputation.
Nice little gem of a store! A bit cluttered but more than a fair trade for the incredible selection! Staff is very knowledgeable and personable! Cant wait to go back :P
The staff is engaged and super helpful in this day and age its nice to see young people who arent afraid to offer advice and they are very knowledgeable of all the products they are selling a very pleasant experience

2022-04-06Extended my vacation so i had to restock food and treats for my labs. I was able to find a few needed items like stella and chewys - store had lots of dry dog food choices, aisles overly crowded, good variety of toys, one freezer had more ice build-up than frozen primal.

2021-02-09Owner treats customers very poorly . I was having a conversation with my fiance. About how the one fish is too expensive for a gift. Owner interrupts speaking loudly & waving his hands like hes directing traffic.You think my fish are too expensive dont buy. Fix your light on the goldfish tank. They do need some light. Thats just part of my experience.

2021-07-12Shalom, I would just like to make this review to inform you on my experience at your establishment. They did not have a very wide variety of dog food. My pomeranian only eats the finest. Hes been eating purina ever since he was birthed. I ended up purchasing nutrisource and he absolutely hated it and when he did try it he threw up 10 minutes later. He would not even touch it. I cannot believe that I trusted the opinions of the workers and the owner..which btw is a dirty man with a dirty mullet.As-salamu alaykum,Wayne Mcall

2020-11-10Huge selection for all pets except pet rats. I wish they carried Oxbow rat food. Only had guinea pig kind. but I still enjoyed the store.

2019-01-09Our new favorite pet store. Great customer service - they helped me carry large bags of dog food to my car while I was pregnant (and post pregnancy), which I greatly appreciated! I just wish the aisles were a little wider.
