Pricey, but excellent location for business or shopping at the Crossgates mall. Easy access to highways and Albany also. The staff were accommodating and the suite is like a small apartment with facilities superior to the usual hotel room. The included full breakfast was appreciated.
We are completing a 30-day road trip in which we have stayed primarily at Homewood or Home2Suites. We travel with a pet so require a pet-friendly room. When we arrived they told us they had given us a room in a “great” location. As it turned out the “great” location was next to the guest laundry room which was constantly in use 24/7. The room overlooked a basketball court also in use constantly which then doubled as party central until well after 11 pm nightly. As if that wasn’t bad enough we had Mr. Cement Boots above us who paced from the minute he got up until he went to bed, never leaving the room, it was unbelievable. We asked if they could please remind him there were guests on the room below, perhaps removing his shoes or moving him. Nothing was done. We were there 3 nights, on the last night they said they could move us but what was the point.By far our worst experience to date, ever! Other than that, the room was fine, the breakfast was okay.
I’m loving this hotel so far! This is our third time to the area in two months and I guess it’s true, third times the charm. Not only is this hotel pet friendly but it’s close to the mall and gives plenty to do in walking distance. It’s clean, it’s bright, the carpets look well maintained and the staff are friendly.Check in was quick and the policies explained about pets. We were given a nice welcome bag with coupons for local establishments like spas and restaurants. Our rooms were so nice! There were floor length mirrors, a work station and full kitchenette complete with microwave. Every kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, utensils and a small assortment of pans and pots. The bathroom has a beautiful electric mirror which is every woman’s dream! LolAlong with heating and a/c each room has a fan.The 48” tv is mounted on a wall swivel base so it can be angled for multiple views. The hotel offers ample quiet places and meeting spaces from corner window seating to two seaters around a fireplace to booth style in the dining hall. There also casual seating in the other common areas that have a pool/bar setting off of the lobby. The outdoor patio seating with hanging lights is great for after dinner gatherings and drinks. The pool room is spacious and the pool is bigger than some pools I’ve seen at bigger hotels in the area. The fitness room offers bright, natural light, tv monitors and up to date work out equipment. The breakfast isn’t the greatest, but the overall beauty and comfort of this hotel will have me coming back.
I am so glad we stayed here!We just completed a stay of 34 nights. I had a medical procedure that kept me in the hospital for half that time and close by to my doctors until I was cleared to return home. Because of the pandemic it was important for my wife and I to be safe and secure. The hotel has a protocols in place to assure social distancing, hand sanitizing, elevators limited to 2 guests in the same party and contactless deliveries. We had a one bedroom suite with a full kitchen. It was clean, comfortable, spacious and bright. While my wife could not visit the hospital, I felt good knowing that she was safe in this wonderful caring hotel. The front desk staff was beyond professional, friendly and helpful. They even had a card and gift bag for me on my return home from the hospital.Thank you Emily, at this hotel and the folks at the Hilton app for making this work for us. We will be back anytime we are going to be in the area.
I asked for in stay house keeping I went out and came back and nothing was done. Absolutely nothing. They had my room marked as dirty and still nothing was dine after paying 500 for 2 days. The woman at the front desk was wonderful she always is everytime I come here. She deserves a raise asap. She came to my room and did the housekeeping work on her own with a smile on her face and kept apologizing. Her name is kyiah. I think I should be compensated for the inconvenience as well.
We enjoyed this hotel a great deal. When we checked in, Miracle was juggling phone calls, guests who needed sports equipment(they have basketball hoops!) and guest reception. She did it all flawlessly. She was amazing! Our room was spacious, clean, and in perfect order. The AC worked well. The room was quiet and we didnt hear any noise at all. The bed was comfortable, too. Always a bonus as this is so subjective from guest to guest. The breakfast was fabulous. SO MANY hot options and they werent pre-packaged with anti-COVID wrap! YAY! They had juices, coffee, and water. There was a variety of FRESH fruit! What a treat. Oatmeal, eggs, sausage, toast, bagels, and cold cereal were available, too. We are traveling across the country and most hotel breakfast services are either gross, wrapped in plastic, or both. Homewood Suites breakfast was a treat. (FWIW, I AM vaccinated and wear a mask as often as necessary, but we dont expect to be served pre-packaged, plastic strangled food at a restaurant, so why do hotels feel as if this odd twist on food preparation and service is somehow safer/better than what restaurants provide?)I have only one complaint, and I dont fault the actual host hotel; it is the policy of the corporation, who should be ashamed of their pet policy/fees. Pet fees are a joke and really tick me off. A non-refundable fee for what? I have a 20-pound Boston Terrier who sleeps in his own bed and blanket on the hotel bed. I know for a fact toddlers are far bigger slobs than my dog. Hotel staff spend more time cleaning up after children who leave food, snacks, and trash behind. I would understand a Pet Deposit that is refundable based on the condition of the room after we vacate, and the time staff spends readying it for the next guest. But a flat, non-refundable fee is a scam, and the hotels know its an easy money-maker for them. Not all pet parents are perfect, I am aware, but a fee that represents the condition of the room would be far more fair, honest. and less greedy.
The rooms/suites here are tremendous! At the time of my stay the hotel just passed its 2 year anniversary of opening, and the property is still in excellent condition thanks in part to good maintenance team but more importantly staff that care. Every interaction was truly very positive, from the folks at the front desk to the staff working the breakfast area and the maintenance guy who fixed my shower. I really felt welcomed at this hotel. In terms of amenities, I didnt utilize most of them but they were plentiful; gym, pool, breakfast, mall shuttle, 24/7 snack shop, and more. The only negative part of my stay was a fire alarm that went off at 7 AM on a Saturday - front desk said it was a glitch with the system and not a real fire. Nonetheless it was an unpleasant wake up call.
Dual-branded Tru & Homewood Suites sharing same common areas/parking. Practically next door to Crossgates Mall with stores and Restaurants. Place was super clean. Serving HOT breakfast, and the Evening Reception is back! I was given the option of how frequently I wanted my room cleaned. Opted for Daily (my choice). COVID Protocols in place in the Dining Room (free gloves before handling serving implements, frequent changeouts, etc.). I have to go back in August - and WILL be booking this one again.
I stayed here for 4 nights while participating in an all staff meeting. The accommodations were unbelievably comfortable from the room to the community spaces. The staff clearly put their customers first! They were so nice and so respectful and ran things like a well wound clock. Our day started with the complimentary breakfast then to the meeting room that had all we needed and ended with the daily happy hour! We are hoping we can come back for all of our staff meetings! Thank you so much for making a work trip so enjoyable!
I reserved a room, but was still on the road driving and did not make it tothe hotel. My card was charged even though i did not make it. I have been calling for a month to resolve this situation. Today i finally reached the DMhe refused to release any type of resolvement...so now i am out of $175.How is this fair? .....i am very disappointed .
I love the rooms, hotel and staff. The breakfast has a pretty wide selection. However, I do need to point out the issue of Internet and the cable TV especially. They are both hit or miss and seem to start cutting out and having huge delays around 9pm the times Ive stayed for business. I called up somebody to look at one point but I guess youll just need to get used to the no signal screen coming up constantly every few seconds sometimes until they get a different cable and internet provider.. additionally some rooms have TVs on easy to move wall mounts but some rooms have it bolted to the dresser. Also a note for those sensitive or allergic to certain smells, they have cologne air freshener in the main lobby. But to be fair, they have fantastic facilities, the pool is not huge but its nice and well maintained. Fitness center is great and lobby/common areas are spacious, well decorated and plenty of seating. I really like the huge shower. Overall a great, clean place with very helpful and polite staff.. Im happy to stay at in the future! Hoping they will improve on a few things as its really a wonderful place to stay and Ill continue to update as Im here monthly for business.
The actual stay was not bad. A normal suite during a pandemic. What happened after is why I give this one star. I left 4 shirts in the closet of the room and called first thing the very next morning. I was told a would receive a callback after the room was checked by housekeeping. Ok. I never got a call. I called the next day and was told the same thing. Ok. No call back... I called the third day and was told oh yes we found some shirts, gave a description of the shirts then was placed on hold. When I was redirected I was told oh no we did not find your shirts. I asked had anybody checked into the room and the answer was no. I will no longer be a patron of this location or company. The staff was not knowledgeable, they were rude and did not care about helping me at all.
Love this place for my family. Great breakfast in the morning clean rooms comfortable beds. Pool was a great place for my kids to how fun well my husband and I relaxed outside near the fire pit. we stay here all the time when we do our events up here thank you Homewood suites Mr. Wristband
Im not sure if its been a while since I traveled, or if Hilton Homwood Suites got this one right. The facility was updated and very accommodating. The staff were friendly and prompt. For anyone who is looking for the bang to your buck, its here. A hot breakfast every morning and dinner with beer and wine included with your stay is offered M-Th. If youre here for a while the rooms are equipped with a full fridge, a two burner stove top, and a dishwasher. Dishes, pots and pans are provided. Worth your money by far. I would recommend this place to anyone who needs it. Heres to hoping future Hilton properties are like this place.
Our first room wasnt clean, so we ended up in a smaller room for the night. But we ended up staying for free for the hassle. The room was very well lit (seriously, so many lamps). The TV was in an awkward position, against a wall that would make it unviewable from the couch or the bed. Really strange choice. We ended up just pulling the dresser away from the wall. Breakfast omelet was gross. The bed was very comfortable. Great location if you want to go to the mall, but not so much if you want to go to the theater district downtown.
I always love staying at Homewood Suites. This one shared a lobby with Tru by Hilton. As guests of Homewood Suites, we were able to enjoy some of the amenities of the Tru lobby, such as billiards table, various board games, and multiple charging stations for electronics.Pool was open till 10pm- which was great because we arrived at the hotel around 8:00 pm.Staff was very nice- they smiled upon seeing you.Breakfast was great. We got to make our own belgian waffles with the waffle machine they had. Fresh fruit, eggs bacon, potato wedges, yogurt, cereal.. the usual.Computers with internet access are available of you need to use one.Water bottle station- to refill your water bottle. Ice machine as well. The suite provided a roll paper towel, dishwashing soap, dishwasher powder, pots, pans, spoons, knives, forks.
Was not happy with my stay. I always stayed with hilton hotels and this says it has kitchen, full but no, cooktop in the room. Need to ask front desk and might be available otherwise you have to figure out. Check in experience was not good at all. Did not respond to my question and therefore need to call customer care service. So overall, not good experience staying with home 2 suites. Room are nice, good space, nice gym and pool.
Looking for a place to stay on your travels in Upstate Ny , come check out Homewood Suites and Tru by Albany Crossgates Mall. We have a great breakfast selection with a huge variety of options. We are a dual brand hotel, Tru which are smaller modern rooms more for a one night stay and we have suites available as well in our Homewood Suites side. We have an awesome team that works here and we will make your stay the best ever! We do have an Automatic and touchless pancake maker available during breakfast hours, is a huge hit for us!
Not happy. We are booked to homewood suites but canceled our booking without notice. We are moved to tru which has very small space. Front desk staff are not nice and lied to us the rooms that we booked to homewood was given to our friend and told us there is a gas leak.
Great upscale hotel. For one night or extended stay. Across the street from the biggest mall in the area. Close to SUNY and right off I90 and I87. Extended stay rooms are great with kitchen. Has a pool, basketball court and larger than normal gym. Sells a wide variety of things in the massive lobby. Has two separate dining areas for each hotel, has a meeting room, and a pool table in the lobby. Also has a social calendar for Monday through Thursday.
In my 62 years of extensive travel within the United States and abroad, the conveniently located Hilton at Crossgates Mall in Albany, New York, offers the best breakfast ever imagineable! For business people in the State Capitol of the Empire State who need to get up early and get going on their daily drills!
Friendly staff. They made sure I felt heard even though the selection of gluten free items was very small. I suggest bring your own bread, youll find topping to go with it at their breakfast and evening social. Shout out to Drew and Shantasia. The person who deals with GF things is Sarah, I didnt speak to her directly.
Id like to know where they buy their beds and sofas, so I can get one for my home... That said, housekeeping was inconsistent, as if there was no standard and every person did their own thing. One of them even managed to put damp, dirty dishes back in the cabinet. Didnt expect that from a Hilton.
Tried to check in after 4 PM. Tell us the room is not ready. Two housekeepers are in the entire hotel for the busy weekend. Asked twice when room will be ready. Keeps getting later. STAY AWAY from this hotel. What is the point of a hotel if the room isn’t ready at check in time?

2022-05-19Rooms are very nice, clean and spacious. The hotel is large and fairly new. The gym is well stocked with equipment. Now to my gripes. The hot water is nasty. It smells and tastes like old coffee so you know they arent cleaning them out properly and mixing the water and coffee jugs.No bacon any of the days. They started repeating food but bacon wasnt in the rotation. Disappointing. Its advertised on their website that they have an evening reception Monday to Thursday. Blatantly false advertising. They only have it Wednesday. I booked specifically to take advantage of that so I feel ripped off. Second, it says on the sign here its from 5-8 but at 7 it was all packed up and gone. This is really the main differentiating factor between the Hampton inn and Homewood so if they dont have it why would I pay more to stay here?Overall the rooms and hotel are good but the services are lacking and misrepresented.

2022-07-08Room was very clean which was our most requirement, payment was seamless.. Only suggestion is to chk the coffee machines as the previous guest thought it was a great prank to fill it with orange juice... Pool table is a definite winner.. Breakfast was good enough.

2022-04-08Same as Tru excellent, friendly and patient staff. I need to add to the above statement. The housekeeping staff is mediocre. I was asked did I want my room serviced soi left with my girls to not be in the way and that was a waste of time. The bed covers were all bunched up. No dusting at all, in the bedroom ok but u can draw in the living room dust. No vacuuming or sweeping was done. Bathroom wasnt touched at all. I did leave a paper towel on the floor trick under the sink, guess what was still there when we returned to the rumpled sheets that I fixed myself. So yeah all I will have them do for the rest of my stay is bring me sheets, towels, washcloths and trash bags. Ill do what I did b4 I came here and clean it myself

2021-11-11My sister and I had an amazing stay at Homewood Suites. The staff were very kind and helpful. They provided clean towels when asked, extra shampoo, and made sure we were comfortable both nights. I felt very at home and relaxed while here. 100% will be visiting again as soon as we can!

2021-08-22We travel a bit with sports and this is one of not the best hotel weve stayed at. Rooms are comparable with other places but the staff made the difference.Everyone I encountered was friendly and willing to assist with anything. The breakfast staff was by far the best ever! NOTHING even came close to being empty. They were friendly and always available for questions. Their selection of foods met the dietary restrictions in my group and they even had almond milk available!!!If we come back to Albany again this is the place we will stay!
