6/12/22I just started to shop the meat market. Trimmed spareribs are a bargain at $4.99/lb. Dynasty market charges significantly more. The butcher will cut neck or shin bones to your specs. Perfect for making bone broth.3/16/2022 UpdateHong Kong Market is still the great Chinese market with all your needs in the neighborhood. They carry emperor mushrooms which are a real treat. The mushrooms are meaty and have great flavor. Perfect when sauteed in butter and soy sauce!Great one stop shop for Asian groceries. Fresh fish, meat, fruits and veggies available. Varieties of Chinese and western fruits, vegtables and frozen foods (dumplings, noodles, pastries).On the lower level, there is a variety of western staples like oatmeal, Campbells soups, Spam etc. Large selection of teas and snacks too.

Quite possibly the largest and most comprehensive store. Butcher is much smaller than New York Mart. But definitely large range.

Awesome prices and products brings me back here once a week. This yime I needed pain management rubbing oil for my arthritis (chinese Wood Lock oil) and found it here at reasonable price and with great customer service.❤️
Nice market. The store is a lot larger than it seems and there is a big variety of Chinese goods. Definitely a fun supermarket to stop by if you’re looking for an “asian” experience in New York.

A pretty good deal for your $$$$. The vegetables and seafood selections here are great, with very attractive price. The meat section is okay, similar to other markets. It is a bit small and you feel pretty cramped when walking around. If you have a cart, that would be cumbersome. They also have a lower level that I didnt go down to. Definitely will go back here to get reasonably-priced produce and seafood!
Overall the smell of the place was ok. It was kind of expected though. The floors were kind of dirty and probably could use a little touch up, but hey, this is in New York so youre going to have to expect some dirtiness. There were lots of things sold at the market. Including things such as candy, dried foods, and many many types of ramen noodles. The cashiers were not Americans so they were kind of hard to understand, but other than that it was pretty good. They sold pots and pans there and other things. I was satisfied because I finally found myself some Guava candy which I have always liked.
At this place, youll be able to find your daily east asian groceries the cheapest in town. I wish they had more various items though. They have a lot of same stuff stacked a bit inefficiently.
Was staying at nearby hotel. Coworker recommended place for getting bottled water. They were out of gallon jugs, but got 6 pack of Poland spring pint water with spout for 3.99

They have almost everything you can think of when it comes to Chinese products. Their prices are very reasonable and they have a very large produce selection. The lines are long sometimes but thats ok, its really worth it.
Pretty good supermarket but the lady cashier with glasses was so rude to her customers by even trying to pick their credit card! That was inaceptable! If she was in a hurry, she could explain verbally but by no means she could take her customers credit card for payment without the customers permission.
This is the best Asian market in Chinatown in my opinion. It’s very very large, has a great selection, and is quite affordable. It can get pretty crowded but that’s to be expected.
I come here sometimes for basics, but recently I went to get a face mask for walking around. I noticed they had some last week but they had just closed and wouldnt let me in.Just made it back today, as Chinatown has weird fear energy that was making me cough. They had a lot of stock on soup and meat etc which many supermarkets were out of.Unfortunately, they only masks in packs and the prices looked crazy. Especially for the Clorox wipes, which were 2x the prices at Pharmacies down the street. Also, Im not sure this is the same owners at Chinatown Supermarket on E Broadway, but both times- a woman cut in front of me in line acting as her goods/time was more important. Pretty bad customer service, nobody came to ask me if I needed help with the masks although I stood there for 5 mins.Anyway, if you need Clorox wipes, go down the street to Peoples Farmacy at 77 Mott. If you need groceries, and dont mind suffering through rudeness- this place is okay.

Great supermarket for Chinese and some Japanese groceries, as well as many general items you will find in American markets. Went there only to look for potato starch- found it but also walked out with frozen pork buns, frozen dumplings, pockys and some hot chilli seaweed chips!

Love this place and even the live sea creatures that I cant eat 😋. A little pricey but its ok everything is fresh and you gwt fruits you cant get uptown so why not pay the price
Huge Chinese Asian supermarket. Great price for veges. You got to do a bit work yourself to sort through the good and bad stuff but you can find some great quality stuff for bargain price. They have a basement floor with lots of everyday necessities toilet paper, pots and pans etc.
The store has 2 floors and everything I needed. All the asian fruits I wouldn’t be able to find at regular chain grocery stores and the good teas. They also had dried scallops, FRESH seafood (like you could choose it while it’s still alive), and so many snacks, sauces, spices, and produce that you need for many Asian dishes. The prices were fair and they also have helpful bilingual staff. I didn’t know where to find some things and I showed one of their employees a photo and he actually walked me to the product to show me what they had and to make sure it was what I was looking for. No complaints.

Really is a supermarket in terms of size and selection. Great produce, fresh seafood, and all the dry Asian groceries that you would need. Not a lot of houseware though (but Chinatown is already full of houseware vendors). The lines were pretty quick too (I went midday on a Saturday).

A large supermarket in downtown with good selection is hard to find. Has good quality and inexpensive ceramic dishes and other apartment necessities downstairs. If you want a live fish, they got that also. A large collection of snacks, dry goods

Everything online and at the store says they’re open until 8. I go at 7, waste a half hour shopping, several employees walking around me, no one says anything, I go up to pay and they refuse to check me out. Register to is obviously still on. They tell me to leave rudely, no apology. And they also were caught price gouging throughout COVID. Great people over there.

Aside from Trader Joe’s , my favorite supermarket. Actually, FreshMart around the corner is great too. What Hong Kong doesn’t have, FreshMart has, and vice versa. FreshMart has a much bigger choice of fish and meat, Hong Kong has consistently better vegetables.Five Stars to all three.
Love this supermarket, wide selection of fruits and veggies. Decent frozen food selection of dim sum, dumplings and steamed buns. Downstairs is a wide selection of snacks from shrimp chips to japanese gummies. Can get a little crowded but cashiers are efficient.

The produce is amazingly fresh and there’s a good variety of items that you’re most likely going to walk out with everything you needed and then some. The prices are lower than what you’ll find at your average NYC stores. Besides coming here for specific things that can’t be easily found elsewhere, it’s also great for weekly grocery hauls!
Crazy amount of veggies, fish, and Asian ingredients, all for good prices. Extremely crowded, but probably because it is such a good store! I would recommend to check out if you like good whole foods and exotic fruits and vegetables.

One of the best asian supermarket in the area, they gave tons of fresh produce, east/south-east asian groceries and dried goods. It can be crowded on most hours and days, Id advise anyone who visits to be patient with one another while shopping especially with the aging community. There is a mini shopping cart lot at the front of the store complete with an attendant so you dont have to take it around the store with you.

Its larger than you typical Chinese supermarket, there a lot of sauces, and there are 2 floors. Its meat section is small and nothing stands out. If you need meat go to deluxe Market that is around the corner. Decent fresh fish selection and veggies.

My go-to grocery for all Chinese pantry needs - flours, noodles, sauces, spices, etc. Prices are so much better than the “ethnic” aisle at Whole Foods, etc. Spacious and well organized. It was also calmer than my other Chinese supermarket around the corner.

This place is my bliss. I absolutely love food and shopping here fulfills not only my hunger but also my hunger for culinary exploration. Its not a matter of what they have, but what dont they have at this market. I bought enough groceries to feed a small army and I plan on returning every damn time I need to fill my freezer and belly.

My neighborhood grocery store. They have a major selection of all kinds of things; great spices, dry goods and many Korean and Japanese things in addition to the abundance of Chinese specialty groceries. The fresh/live fish in the back of the produce section always has a great selection and awesome prices. Also bonus: kitty lives in the store if you can spot him. 👀

Also many items that you will not find in other supermarkets.One upside is that it does not smell and it is not dirty like some other Asian markets.One downside is do not expect to get any help/assistance if you are not a Chinese speaker.Conveniently located, great prices, huge selection.Give it a shot and be sure to grab some things that you may not have any idea of what it is. Very crowded, hard to navigate. apparently the veggies are pretty good here if you dont want to shop from a street vendor with all the car exhaust piling on fresh produce. The meat is not as good as some of the other places. But overall a convenient place to get all the grocery one needs at reasonable price.
Seems like the fresh seafood area always stinks and the floor is always wet. Its not a seafood stink either. But I dont come for the seafood. I come for the variety of goods. Theres a little area for people to leave their stroller bags in the front while they shop.

A fantastic selection of produce and harder-to-find Asian cooking ingredients, one of the best supermarkets in the neighborhood. Be sure to check out the variety of snacks and treats in the basement-level as well!
If you need Asian ingredients this is a great spot. They pretty much have everything you could possibly want for cooking Asian food. It can be challenging to get help if youre not Asian, but I find using photos on my phone to show the staff what Im looking for is helpful. They have great selection and prices on a wide variety of mushrooms and certain fresh veggies. They even carry popular Western products. Its a very large store so make sure you see all of it.
They have great selections of Asian groceries at reasonable price and they even sell live fishes, crabs and lobsters. However, they dont replenish their sale items quick enough, you may not have a chance to get them.They normally have long check out lines, however, my waiting time is about 5 to 10 minutes.

They have many varieties of Asian groceries, not only Chinese but Korean, Japanese, Vietnamese etc at a very good price. Their tea selection at a lower level was overwhelmingly wide and so was their snacks and sweets. Just went there twice but I think I’d definitely go back whenever I’m around the neighborhood.

Full of Chinese snack foods, produce, drinks and cooking ingredients. A gem of a supermarket such as this in the middle of a city is a real treat. Thecashier service was nice, the selection of packaged goods and snacks was great, and the produce was alright. Its easy to get lost inside, and its bustling during the evening hours. Very easy to get to from the subway and from the rest of Chinatown.
Great produce at chinatown prices. Bought two pears, two red onions, a bag of baby bok choy and a bag of grapes for only 12 dollars. Card only for $10+.

Huge selection of Chinese (and other Asian) ingredients and products. Fresh produce at low prices, and a decent meat/fish selection. Whenever I need specific items for Chinese cooking, this is where I go.
Fresh veggies? ✅ Dozens of types of Instant noodles? ✅ Tons of hot pot stuff? ✅ Different noodle types? ✅ Any Asian condiments? ✅. Frozen dumplings and dimsum? ✅ Ive never purchased any meats other than sliced pork, lamb, beef short ribs there. But their turnover volume is so high its always fresh. Snacks and candies? ✅ Oh, and you wont break the bank either. Go early if you want your pick of the bunch.
As a touristy location, I dont know why someone would go to a local Chinese market for any reason other than exploration and interest. Youre not going to buy anything and itll just be fun to see.As someone with some interest in getting Chinese items, and living with a partially Chinese family, this was a fantastic location. Its one of the largest Chinese stores Ive seen and I think if youre looking for a wide selection of items at acceptable prices, this is a place you can seriously thrive at.
This Chinese supermarket is great for one stop shopping and the products are all high quality. You may save a little by purchasing items elsewhere, but you spend significant time fir meager savings. It will pay to shop frequently to know where items are located. Dont expect clerical support to find items.

I finally found a place where I fulfilled my wanting to buy Chinese and Japanese food to cook at home. Theres even a seafood market inside and all the chinese food appliance and noodles downstairs that I had to buy online they have there! Im definitely going back to get more things in the future.
I could spend hours at this store. The variety of Asian products is fascinating to me. They have a lot the vegetables ingredients that are featured in Blue Apron recipes and are virtually impossible to find in typical American supermarkets. The employees dont all speak English, but typically they are are helpful.
One of the largest Asian food market in Manhattan Chinatown, you will find variety of choices. Hard to find parking weekdays you have more chance to find a spot.
Tons of everything you could want in this place! It can get VERY busy and crowded so try to go at off times if you can. The prices cant be beat anywhere in Manhattan for produce - just make sure to wash the leafy greens thoroughly because they usually have a bit of dirt in them (which is normal). The staff could stand to be a bit nicer but I dont go here for the service, I go for the prices, the unique asian produce, and Chinese/Asian products!
This place has decent prices on vegetables. A variety of vegetables, fruits, seafood and meats. Its usually always crowded in here. They have a downstairs for teas, snacks like Asian cookies, cookies even a section for American snacks. You can also find cookware downstairs. Usually on Saturdays they have some ladies selling their products and they will let you sample before you decide if you would like to purchase. They used to have a sushi section but it is now gone.
Great selection of fresh fish. Interesting produce including lots of hard to find things like taro, garlic scapes, rare mushrooms, and edible grasses. All around great Asian supermarket with all of the things you didnt know you needed.
Lots of green veggies to choose from. I use to come here more . Its definitely not clean at all beware. I bought a few different types of rice here and ended up with a kitchen moth problem that took me 6 months to fix never again. Done with this shop.
This is a one stop store. You can get your seafood and meat here as well as vegetables and fruit. Large selection of Asian staples. Wont find much a selection of bread, but plenty types of noodles and baus. The only thing they dont have is a bakery.

Opens daily late.The only problem is its line at cashiers, but theres an express line all the way at the front.
This supermarket is huge. The prices are very good.You can find fresh fruits and vegetables from all over the world here. Fresh fish and shell fish are available too. Its a one stop grocery shopping.Checking out is always fast. Great experience. Recommended for ethnic foods.

Very cool store and place. Keep your eyes open not all the veges and fruits are fresh , and some could even be stale! Other items are pretty good. I just came here to get an Asian Squash! That they have good quality and quantity of! Oh, very friendly people!!!Definitely love this Chinatown better than Flushing-Chinatown (yuck!).

Ive been shopping here for over 20 years. Started coming with my grandmother. HK market used to be much cleaner and well organized, but over the years management has gone down quite a bit.This is supermarket has a great selection of Chinese/Asian goodies
Cheap grocery store with a large selection of Chinese and asian vegetables, spices, and products. Good if you know what youre in for.The space itself is pretty large, however, the aisles are quite cramped and the floor and shelves are a bit dirty. It also can get really busy on the weekends and Monday night which makes shopping here a real event. You cant beat the price and selection of Chinese vegetables and other products. The meat can be questionable at times and the butchers dont seem to practice the best safety standards.
This place is great for certain items at certain times of day/year and if you only came for that the rating would be higher, but in general there are a few improvement that can be made. They open at 8am on Saturday, but dont open the entire downstairs area at the same time. Checkout is slow. Produce had to be checked carefully. But I still go there weekly.

This place stuffed a lot of value into a small space. I would definitely agree to a return and with hope that they expand to other locations. The staff knew just enough English to help me shop. The good and the bad...products almost to the ceiling...high shelves.
The good thing is that its large, well-stocked, and well-priced. You can find things here that many of the other Chinatown groceries are missing. The bad news is that it can be crowded, chaotic, and a little...wet. Weekends the lines are long but move at a good pace. The issue is that there is no room for the lines so people are constantly squeezing to get past. Still worth it for the prices, the selection, and produce of good quality!

Large supermarket - ground floor and basement - carrying mostly Chinese and other Asian groceries. Theres a fresh seafood, meats, and produce section also. Generally fine, and prices comparable for the area, but Id go with the produce/seafood/meat places nearby if possible for something fresher. Lots of Asian snacks downstairs, and selection seems to rotate regularly; this would be a great place to survey your snacking options. Non-Asian staples in the back of the lower level also (cereal, canned foods, etc). Staff is busy - limited English, but will try to be helpful even through the language barrier.
In This supermarket are excellent sellers, but I will not forget to say about fresh products. I bought milk and duck meat here. I was disappointed with my purchase, giving about $ 25 for sour milk (although the date was the same as at the time of purchase, which struck me very much). Apparently they are deceiving the markings.The duck was not very fresh, which was very noticeable when it was cut. The assortment of products is very large, especially seafood. I bet 3 stars because of your misbehavior with the products. I expected better, to be honest. But looking at other reviews about the market, I noticed that they are good. I hope Im the only one so unlucky with the purchase. I wish good luck and prosperity to the store. Thank you for your attention.
Asian supermarket, crowded narrow aisles, fair amount of selection, credit card reader can only take magnetic strip and cant do emv chip. I feel nervous using my credit card here.

Best grocery store in NYC, been shopping here for 10 years. Great selection of pretty much everything at good prices. Produce is very fresh, and staff is very helpful.
Of the large Asian grocery stores I would probably say Hong Kong Supermarket is one of the cleanest and aisle that are wide and everything is organized and clean. It has about the same selection but I would say it has a comparable produce but the fruit selection and seafood/meat aren’t as good as the others but should have the basic needs.The lower floors contains plenty of snacks, noodles and house wares that are neatly laid out.This is a reprieve from the other frenetic supermarkets where you can actually stroll down the aisle without fighting the old ladies and buying food is not a combat sport and clean floors makes it a much more pleasant experience that might be more palatable for non-Asian shoppers. There is even food tasting station which they advertise new products. The lines moves quickly and the cashiers like the others are quick and gets moves everyone along at a steady pace.

Theyve got cheap and good veggies, very fresh fish, and a huge selection of... everything. A vast array of sauces, pastes, asian drinks, fresh/dried noodles, frozen foods, Asian snacks, and cookware/glassware. This is definitely my go-to one stop shop for my chinese cooking needs.
My Asian friend introduced me to HK Market. I was hesitant at first. But it was eye opening the extensive selections of specialty Asian ingredients and grocery items. The seafood section is a bit flooded. They also have a huge selection of Western groceries and dry food. They are one of few places that accepts credit cards in Chinatown. Upstairs is mainly fresh vegetables, fruits, seafood, butcher meat, frozen food, and a huge selection of sauces. Theres also an herbal area with various selections of alternative medicine stuff. Sorry! I am unfamiliar with eastern medicine. They also have imported specialty baked goods as well. Lower Level are dry foods like noodles, kitchenware, and toiletries. I hope to return to this market with my friend in the near future.
Great supermarket find produces here that you properly never seem before. Yummy Chinese candy, fresh seafood and lots of different soy sauces. Staffs are nice and friendly some of then speak little to no English so be prepare to speak it slowly. Overall great supermarket for all ingredients.
They have a good amount of chinese goods. They have a meat department and a fish department with fresh and frozen fish. They have a basement floor where they sell household goods like pots and pans. They also have a counter For sushi. The sushi is not expensive but it feels like the rolls are smaller than most other places
With a great selection of Chinese goods, this is one of the places where you can get required materials for a Chinese meal. The environment is just so so, but that is the norm in this area. There are many traditional items. On the other hand, you have less options for modern goods.
Nice Chinese supermarket in NYC. Big selection of products with reasonable prices. Nothing too expensive but not exactly cheap either. Always double check your receipt or watch when they scan your items at checkouts (usually produce or anything without a barcode) There are often mistakes and theyre usually not in your favor.

The prices keep me coming back as do the actual produce. The culture is what is expected if one has travelled to China and the butchers are nice enough to cut the meat when requested compare to other Chinese supermarkets where I am given attitude for asking to have my meat cut.
My go to grocery shop. Its the cleanest one in Chinatown (and also the most expensive, but only by a bit). The thing I love the most about this place is that it has an expansive selection of veggies and fruits that are actually fresh and dont have random flies buzzing around all over the place. The baby cucumbers and long green beans are my go to. They also have fresh seafood and poultry, which you can order and have the staff chop up if necessary.

If you are looking for some sauces. This is the place. For fish and vegetables for some reason I really to like it.
Quality of vegetables here is often disappointing as I often find rotten or damaged fruit and vegetables. You have better and fresher deals outside the store on the street. This is one place that I do go for pre-packaged food in cans or things like cookies.
Probably the best supermarket in Chinatown, has all the quintessential grocery items for Asian cooking. Produce is super affordable. Service and cleanliness is on par with Asian super market standards.
Wonderful super market that has lots of Staples for Asian cooking -- huge aisles of hard to find sauces and oils, along with the best selection of frozen dumplings and other dim sum needs. They have a full service butcher here as well, and Asian snacks and candies lining all the aisles to the cash registers.
Very crowded. I dont know the products and was shopping for someone else and the only person who could help who seemed to know English was the gentleman at the front, at what looked like customer service counter. Other than the language barrier being that I only speak english and spanish there was no issue. Well stocked and had most of the items I needed to purchase.

I cannot give any Chinese supermarket more than 3 star for its dirtiness. However, they do have a good variety of Asian groceries at a very good price. There are all kinds of Chinese cookies and snacks as well as dry goods.Their vegetable section is acceptable but the fruit and seafood looks rather questionable. I have never got any meat here because it does not look appealing here. I would recommend getting them else where.
Dont come here during the weekends. This place is packed for good reason. Be patient with the Asian staff here as most of them hardly speak English but will go far and beyond to help you get what you want. Be prepared to stay a while, many wonderful things to see. Most times I go, with a list of 4 or 5 items and always come out with 25 items I didnt know I needed.

Price of napkins 2.99$, at register reads 3.49$. Microban bacteria spray no price tag, at register said 21$, probably why they were fined for price gouging and this product no longer sold. Checked Google, it is 12oz price at around 6$. Frequent shopper here but since these incidents, be aware of their pricing practices, check your receipt. Side note: no price tag on 5 lb. Jar of garlic, cashiers response 40$, needless to say customer declined to buy. Totally lost my trust
Amazing selection of fresh produce at great prices. A lot of hard to find Chinese seasonings. They have Korean kimchi, not the selection one would find at a Korean supermarket, they basically just have one brand of kimchi. They have live seafood there, should one need that. Great prices on everything.
One of the best places to grocery shop if youre in Chinatown and dont speak a lot of Chinese. They have the typical Chinese groceries and snacks but a good number of the staff understand English. They also have free samples around on the weekend to up-sale some of their smaller food items (pocky, dumplings, moon cake, etc.)
This place has tons of ethnic ingredients, as expected. Great for those interested in Chinese cooking. The produce section is filled with uniquely East Asian varietals. Amazing deal on shishito peppers which earns it a star by itself. They also has nopal (cactus flesh) for sale which Ive not seen before. If youre not great with reading or understanding Chinese, the place can be a little confusing, especially if youre hunting for a specific item, but its worth the meandering just to discover all the things the place has to offer.

Easy to see right off of Hester Street. Parking on the Street is available but it fills up fast especially at night and on the weekends. Moderately clean facilities. Very reasonably priced. Credit cards accepted. Staff works fast and not very customer savvy so be prepared. We will definitely be going back.

The produce is not super fresh. I’d rather get my Chinese veggies from the cart ladies in chinatown. BUT they have everything else you’d need like every type of noodle and condiments you can imagine. I come here for the asian speciality items, not produce.
There are two levels.. The first floor is mainly selling grocery food, such as vegetable, fish, fruit, etc. The lower level is mainly selling junk food, such as candies and sugary stuffs. It is busy there during weekend, at least when we were there, not quite sure about weekdays. The fridges aisle is pretty smelly.. like some animal died there...But in general, pretty okay experience.

They literally have every Asian food item you could think of! On the outside it looks very modest and pretty much like any other store in Chinatown but when you walk in its a massive 2 floor warehouse thats actually quite orderly and spacious so that you can go up and down every aisle picking and grabbing all the items you need to prepare yourself a home cooked Asian meal. Downstairs they have snacks, cooking utensils, cooking supplies, household items and all the weird miscellaneous items that you need but dont know where to get. For example, I was looking for delicate bags for laundry and they were stashed in the back left corner on the bottom floor. Can you say, AMAZING??

Great, cheap location with a large variety of groceries, snakes, fresh produce, fresh fish, and fresh meat. Along the Asian products, there are just as many western groceries as well. Its intimidating in the number of foreign sauces and names but it is not better organized than most.

A Chinatown supermarket stocked with a huge selection of Chinese-centric produce, packaged eats, and other ingredients as well as some Japanese- and Korean- foods/goods.Hong Kong market is a huge grocery store. packed from floor to ceiling and lines with aisles of fruits, vegetables, prepackaged foods, and other items used in Chinese cooking and meals. theres also a limited variety of other Asian countries grocery items. the supermarket is definitely old and has that worn-in vibe as it is a neighborhood institution. most everything is located on the first floor from vegetables, fruits, and other food items. theres a large variety of staples as well as a smaller variety of hard-to-find items in terms of eats or ingredients to cook. i do most of my shopping in the refrigerated noodles section on the first floor (there is also a large variety of dry noodles located in the floor below). theres a seafood / fish monger section tucked in the back and you cant miss it based on sight and that seafood smell. there is also a butcher section. and there aisles upon aisles of different food items. it can be a bit overwhelming. definitely scouting out the supermarket before making a list and doing your shopping will save you time in the long run as shopping here can be a bit of hide-and-seek. back to noodles, the frozen and refrigerated section has a large variety of noodles. i was able to find chow fun-style noodz (ho fun noodles aka wide rice noodles) here at a good price. the variety of soy sauces, sauces, and other add-ons flavors to wok-cooking is amazing.i have benefitted from kind strangers helping me to find items that i couldnt find on my own. who says courtesy is dead? not me. patience and smile go a long way here and pays off. also internet language translators and every item in the world being catalogued viasually n the web is a life- and timesaver! an amazing time we live in....the staff? i havent interacted much with them. checkout is typically pretty quick despite the lines that build. i try to buy 10 or less items bc that line moves quick and the women who run that cashier line dont eff around. #respectdrops mic cuz HK is my noodle plug in Chinaaatown
My favorite Asian supermarket. While most products are Chines, there is also a great selection of Japanese products. The first time I went there, I was particularly impressed by the assortment of soy sauces :-).
Its a supermarket where you can buy specifically Chinese groceries, food etc. You get all kinds of curry pastes, rice, noodles, seafood etc. Good selection.But I found the quality of fruits bought from here pretty bad. Berries got spoilt and caught fungus the very next day.
This is a large, well-supplied and pretty clean grocery store. We bike here from Williamsburg to find the necessary Chinese staples (condiments, sauces, ingredients) for our kitchen.
Cleanliness of this supermarket has gone down significantly over the years. Still have a lot of stick of traditional and unique Chinese spices and sauces and veggies but the overall cleanliness is why I dont shop her anymore and instead prefer to go to the local veggie cart on Elizabeth or the butcher market on Bayard instead

Yet, all Japanese crackers I bought from here tasted old and hard although the expiration date is still good so idk why. Upstairs, which mostly sells wet groceries like vegetables and frozen food, the floor and the shelves are dirty.
I like this supermarket more than the one on Mott. Prices are better, and I can find what I need most of the time. They also have Japanese products like green tea Kit Kats and CC Lemon! I like to walk around and see whats new.

A small place but the chef makes you delicious and fresh sushi right after you order as well as gives you a friendly service. The prices are reasonable. I will come back again.
Many of the items they sell are without expiration dates. If the manufacturer stated there should be one on the package. If you do not keep your paper receipts they will not return or exchange anything and they will continue to sell the stuff without dates. I bought bunch stuff from them and the rice crackers I got are totally rotten and if you give kids to eat those without first try yourself the kids can get sick. Be aware of the poor quality stuff they sell.

HK supermarket has a great variety of Asian products. I just wish their refrigerator section was a tiny bit more well kept. Ive yet to pull a dumpling wrapper stack without it being a little damp. The lower level is great for your snack and any ramen needs.

An institution in Chinatown for many years as a one stop shop for produce, snacks, and anything you can think of. Its gone through a few renovations but still one of the bigger markets in Chinatown. It doesnt necessarily always have the cheapest prices considering the neighborhood but certainly convenient that everything can be purchased in one place.
The Hong Kong Supermarket is one of the oldest Chinese supermarket in NYC, anf they are located centrally in Chinatown on Elizabeth and Hester Street.They have a few locations in Manhattan, and a few locations in Brooklyn and Queens.They have almost everything anyone wants or needs from Hong Kong or China and beyond. Almost any fruits or vegetables are available, most sauces that are available in Hong Kong and China are available here.They have a meat department where chickens can be skinned and cleaned, a seafood department where they will scale your fishes for you, but not clean them. They have frozen seafood as well.Then there are your Junk Food departments where one can satisfy their cravings from here to the Far East.It can be a all in one place to shop, however, the Chinese tends to go all over in order to get the best of the best. So no Chinese would ever consider a all in one place, because that would be like cutting corners.
Updated** Prices are ok, always crowded, always. Aisles are narrow. Cashier lines are weird and are always filled into the shopping aisles. Stock workers are rude and have completely dismissed customer service. I know in most asian supermarkets customer service isnt a thing. But to come right up to me completely blocking my way and start loading/unloading/working in an already narrow space as Im patiently waiting for you to move aside as you coming down is nonsense.
They pretty much have your basic supermarket items including dairy, butchery, fresh seafood,nuts etc It is,however, generally an Asian Market. They also have good selection of candy and Eastern health remedies.
It looked like good prices, however when I went to the cashier today, she charged 12.88 for an item advertised 10.99. I thought it was the tax, but tax part was showing zero on the receipt, not to mention taxes are not that high anyway. I didnt want to argue because of the rude way cashier treated the customer before me. Shady place.
Some items are just way too over replenished. Sometimes it is impossible to find what your looking for and when you do, it is almost impossible to figure out how much the item costs due to random stickers. Boxes are laid out everywhere in the aisles. How do you expect to keep a tidy appearance for customers to shop without tripping or squeezing through one of theses?

This is a giant old fashioned Chinese super market with good prices, large selection, and very questionable sanitation.Its the Chinese super markets of your parents generation, and it definitely still has a niche. Its the old fashioned Chinese super market through and through with the smelly fish section and meat section and obscure Chinese ingredients.
I like to go here to get Asian vegetables, seasoning sauces, and snacks. You will be able to find most of Asian stuff here. So it’s pretty convenient too. Quality-wise, questionable.
Prices here arent bad at all! Fruit in Chinatown is the freshest in the city, and this is no exception! Lots of Cantonese and Malay items.
Its a good place to shop Asian groceries especially the certain ingredients, the price is good and pretty clean not too much fishy smell. Its busy all packed on weekends but worth to go if you want to shop everything in one place.
Good selection of merchandise. Can always find things we need. The one stop shopping convenience definitely compensates for the sightly higher price compared to certain others Chinatown grocers.

2022-04-18This supermarket is huge and has lots of varieties to choose from! I am from Toronto and had a list of things I needed to get and this supermarket had exactly what I needed. I also ended up buying something like these tea leaves which are not found in Canada so that was nice. Line was quick, cleanliness was good, workers most wore masks and gloves.

Sometimes there are great deals on vegetables that are slightly past prime, check it out at the front of the store for $1 a bag. If youre lucky, itll beat the produce cart in both quality and quantity. This place will also accept credit cards with a $5 minimum purchase.

They also have a full Asian pantry for spices, can food, fresh noodles, a good amount of frozen stuff, a butcher and a fish counter. But I only buy dry pantry stuff and veges from here. If they can do better with their cleanliness, I will give them more stars.When buying fresh meat, poultry or seafood, go to Deluxe on Mott St. Their options and freshness are the best in town for Asian cooking.As for veges, u can get the same varieties of veges at iFresh also on Mott st. Sometimes I pick up veges from vendors on the street, if they look really fresh.
