We ordered a burrito, nachos, a quesadilla, and several burrito bowls. Honestly, it was average. The proportions of guacamole, sauces, and ingredients were imbalanced which led to a soggy bite. They burned one of my friends quesadillas and later dropped it without notifying us (they did, however serve us a new one). The service was fine-- friendly but sloppy. The music was loud too, but I digress. We still recommend that you go if you eat halal, but there are better places.
It was my second time dining in and the food is always fresh and tasty. The staff is also always nice and helpful. I think I like them better than Chipotle! I will definitely be back.
Ill keep it simple. If you ever get a craving for Chipotle but you actually want quality ingredients & consistency, come to Hot Peppers which does everything 10x better.Very welcome addition to Astoria!
No exaggeration to say that this is one of the best places I’ve been to. The quality, the amount of food, and the price are all fantastic. I don’t understand how they could be selling so much food for so cheap especially when inflation is s high but no complaints here.If you like Mexican food or Chipotle I can’t recommend these guys enough. You get so much bang for your buck that I doubt anyone could be unsatisfied. Try a bowl or a burrito and try the steak quesadillas with sour cream and guacamole in the side. You’ll be doing yourself a favor.
Great experience. This is basically a halal Chipotle and it did not disappoint. I had a large order consisting of burritos, burrito bowls, tacos, and quesadillas, all of which were great. The steak burrito was my personal favorite but the Chipotle chicken was delectable as well. The owner was very nice and hooked it up for us. Overall, food and service was excellent. Would definitely recommend this place!
The burrito bowl is incredible with the chips on the side. The chips and guacamole also taste fantastic together. I also tried the carne asada tacos and there was only three but they were big compared to your average taco. After eating just two, I felt so full. The quesadilla was alright but I loved the burrito bowl the most. This place is a better halal version of Chipotle. Loved it!
Just stopped by for a quesadilla delicious local business alternative to chipotle. Very much the same and I mean that in a good way. The Chimmichuri is absolute fire, it says its spicy but very much not so.Would highly recommend for a quick and quality lunch spot.

Great food and great staff! Super attentive and friendly! The honey chipotle chicken is absolutely delicious in everything! My favorite is the quesadilla with chipotle honey chicken, corn and onions and peppers. Great quality food and so so so flavorful.
One of the best places to eat. eat from here few times a week and never gets old. ingredients are fresh and many more options than chipotle.
Hot Peppers rules. Insane value with none of the nickel and diming or upcharges of chipotle. The wider variety of toppings and add-ons is great. Guacamole and queso are included, they’ve got roasted vegetables, and all of the sauces are great. The guys working are super friendly and really load up the toppings. All around amazing.
This is way better than chipotle!! I eat chipotle and have a nasty full feeling afterwards. The food here was amazing and left me feeling so satisfied but not that super heavy feeling. So many options for side . Healthy and delicious would definitely come back! And the staff is wonderful and welcoming

This place is AMAZING. The chipotle honey chicken is delicious, tangy tomato sauce and the chimichurri are some of the tastiest things I’ve ever eaten. Packed full of flavor. I don’t think I’ll ever get chipotle again. The serving sizes are larger and also cheaper than chipotle. The staff is super friendly as well. 👍🏼
Best bang for your buck for burritos in the area. One thing that could be improved is the melted queso. It has a very heavy kraft/velveeta taste, which is very conflicting with the natural flavor profiles of mexican food.

If you want a chicken/steak burrito bowl but minus the chicken and steak, look no further this is the place for that. I specially ordered a steak bowl and they put everything but the steak in my bowl. Funny enough I ordered a steak taco but they didn’t forget to put the steak in that. Cant fathom the level of incompetence that was put in when making this order. Not even god could help these people there. Don’t know why this dump has a solid 4.6 as it is the most overhyped burrito bowl place I’ve ever had. Stingy with the portions, inability to follow simple instructions, and no way to even contact this place. This place makes chipotle look like the holy grail for fast burrito bowls. Never going to eat here ever again. I wouldn’t even let a rat come in here to eat. If gaping disappointment is what you desire, this place will never fail to let you down.
Is it inedible? No. Is it enjoyable? Also, no. The shrimp is flavorless. The tomato sauce is actually tomato sauce which blew me away because I would never add that to a burrito.Have you ever had a bunch of stuff In your fridge and said, man, Id like a burrito! And then you make a burrito with it? Thats what this is. Its like a drunk person took a bunch of random stuff and threw it together. Id review the chicken, but I cannot recall the taste of it. We ordered nachos, a burrito and a burrito bowl. The burrito is 8inches long so if you have no taste buds but prefer quantity, highly recommend that.In terms of seasoning and spice, the overwhelming seasoning was salt and seemingly only salt. There was a level of hotness to the meal however I wouldnt refer to the food as spicy.This is like if you got Chipotle and they only had leftovers from 5 days ago and threw it together for you, adding sauces made from canned goods.Did we eat the entire meal? No. Would we order again? Also no.I wouldnt call this Mexican food per say. Its like if you described Mexican food to someone who never had it before and they tried to make it knowing nothing about Mexican food.This is probably great if you are drunk (like almost unconcious) or high (like very very very very high, not just buzzed, like you wont remember bad it is because youre that zooted-high) but if you have tastebuds of a child or better, I would steer clear.We gave them 2 stars because they didnt get the food wrong because the food was technically as we ordered it, its just that the food is bad.

This food is extra good. Chipotle has no competition compared to this place yum. I had a vegan tofu 🌯. The flavors are amazing.
You are better off ordering at Chipotle rather than this. If you would like meat in your bowl, don’t count on it. They literally just delivered vegetables, beans and rice. Not to mention, there isn’t a phone number to contact the restaurant? Seems pretty unprofessional.
The food at this place is delicious..with that being said the girl at the front cashing on June 17, 2022 has a disgusting...not bad but a disgusting attitude....as if if it was a hither for her to explain to me what the different sauces were..because of her horrible ..horrible customer service this place gets a 3 star...when you come at a place to eat and spend your money the least they can do is explain what they serve for a first time customer ....
Just been visiting from the UK and came across Hot peppers. Had a great experience at this restaurant. All their food is fresh and made on the day which is hard to find these days. They really look after their customers and give the best service. Their meat is also HALAL, a total bonus.
The food is a lot more fresh than your fast food Chipotle chain. Get the steak with spicy guacamole and spicy queso.

I’ve been a fan of this restaurant since they’ve opened at Springfield Blvd. Visited their new Steinway location and the quality is just as great. Bowl sizes are generous, you definitely get way more here than Chipotle, and the variety is great. Definitely recommend adding their spicy queso and spicy guac to your order, finish it off chimichurri sauce. The staff and customer service here is 👌

I really enjoyed the burrito bowl.We had fresh greens, Arcadian mix, roasted vegetables (cauliflower, carrots, squash, and Brussel sprout), tofu, guacamole, spicy guacamole, tangy tomato, pinto beans, black beans, tomato salsa, roasted corn salsa, shredded romaine, tortilla chips and on the side mango verde and chimchurriIt tastes fresh, it’s filling and I’m super full and satisfied.

2021-12-17The staff is SO welcoming and helpful. this was my first time here and i am so glad i stopped and got a burrito bowl! everything was cooked great. they even let my boyfriend sample their chipotle chicken (which was very good) and gave us free lemonades. we will absolutely be coming back! highly recommend :)

2022-01-26Keepin it real out here in AstoriaThe experience at Peppers has been nothing but positive. The staff were energetic even at the late hours. They took their time to explain their menu, made great recommendations and went the extra mile to say bye to us on our way out. The food is pretty darn good and the portion is solid, we had enough for lunch the next day, and yep, still good eating it microwaved the next day. Thanks for the experience.

2021-12-23Hot Peppers was always a go to in Springfield and now a second location is closer to home. As soon as I heard about the opening I was super excited! I haven’t had Chipotle or Qdoba in years all thanks to Hot Peppers. The servers are super nice and generous with the portions, everything balances out when you take a bite. 100% halal and fresh! Every protein was nicely seasoned and had a lot of flavor and their sauces are a must. The hard shelled tacos didn’t break into a million pieces after one bite so that was a plus! Most of the toppings had a nice sweetness and heat to it! They carry burritos, tacos, nachos. bowls and quesadillas.The homemade drinks on the side are a plus and they also carry Jarritos. After trying everything on the menu I can confidently say that everything is of absolute high-quality. The menu options are a tad difficult to read but soon they’ll have it above the serving station.

2022-06-09This place is legit awesome. To me, it feels like if Chipotle was good. I have never had a bad experience with the food, or freshness, never had a bad vegetable or weird piece of chicken. The price also cant be beat.I am slowly working up to going here almost once a week by accident because its cheap, awesome food, and the portion sizes are pretty big (and Im not a light eater). Ill get the burrito bowl with extra meat and its usually lunch for two days.If you havent tried this place out yet, you need to. My only problem with the restaurant is finding a different place to go to so I dont eat here too often...
