Hotel BPM Brooklyn in Brooklyn
Rooms are not like the photos as far as modernity and newness. Needs simple renovations (fresh paint, new carpet, cabinet doors resurfaced, etc). Itll do for a single night, but would not stay an entire trip here.UPDATE: stayed again a week later on the back end on a trip (layover), and one night was one night too many to sleep here. Attaching photos of the very dirty room I was first assigned. I requested a move because the room had never been cleaned from the last occupants (urine residue on the toilet seats, disheveled towels, oil/sweat stains on the night stand). The second room was cleaner (seemingly without dna from prior guests), but in no better condition as far as scratched and dented furniture, cracked mirrors, marks (identifiable and unidentifiable) on the walls. Even the fresh linen card had dirt/residue...which seemed to indicate the linens would actually not be fresh at all. I slept uneasily and fully clothed after turning down the sheets and thoroughly inspecting for stray spots or hairs😖. I did not shower or sit on the toilet seat. The front desk employees were pleasant and polite, albeit a little unpolished as far as professionalism. They seemed to be high school seniors, just old enough to be left alone at a hotel desk overnight, but not old enough to run the place effectively. All in all, dont stay here. Spend the extra $100 for a clean room and a good nights sleep.
2-day stay. pretty disappointed with this room. sheets had stains, very dirty floors and bathroom, sink was clogged the whole time and mold around the shower. room was never cleaned, left towels on floor to find them still there when we got back and sheets not changed and gross sink never unclogged or cleaned. all in all it’s just a place to sleep🤷🏼♀️. this hotel also has no common areas.
I’m a bit disappointed about my stay at hotel Bpm. Unfortunately, last Friday i was celebrating my 30th birthday and my boyfriend and I wanted to get a hotel so we wouldn’t have to commute all the way back home after my dinner and party. I’ll have to say that staying here was a huge mistake.First issue, the rooms were a bit lack luster. Getting off the elevator there was definitely an “old apartment building” turned hotel vibe. No vending machine no ice bucket (but the room had plastic cups individually wrapped.) kinda weird. Secondly i wasn’t expecting a hotel room with hard wood floors. Not the kind that is fresh and polished with a nice rug under the bed but these floors were dry and creaked likes you were walking up steps.Did I say that it was also kinda dirty? I posted two pictures of the walls. (One is a wall by the bed with a bunch of scratches and another is a wall where the sitting table was. There was a rolling chair at the sitting table which I moved to so my make up and you clearly see visible stains. I would think that a fresh coat of paint wouldn’t be to hard or expensive.WiFi was decent but we used their to mostly. There’s a cool feature that allowed us to log into Netflix to was movies. unfortunately, it was a struggle just watching a movie because it took forever for the movies and when it did, you’d watch about 30 seconds before it has to load again.Next issue, there were water marks and hairs in the shower before we ever got to use it(picture shown). The outlet in the restroom didn’t work so I had to blow dry my hair in the bedroom and the icing on the cake was the toilet leaked every time we flushed it. We were very disappointed and we tried calling down to the front desk about the issues. Not a surprise, the phone didn’t work. (We later moved the table and realized that it was disconnected from the wall.)This hotel said there was 24hour guest service but every time we went downstairs (because obviously calling didn’t work) no one was present. We decided to grin and bear it because it was too late to rearrange my schedule before my dinner. When we got back to the hotel later that night, there was a gentleman sitting with his feet on the couch by the entrance with a laptop and flip flops. when we entered he seemed startled and greeted us. A few hours before when we were leaving there was a different gentleman sitting on the couch. I’m guessing this is their so called 24 customer service.Unfortunately we already spent the money and it was nonrefundable and most hotels were already booked for a Friday night so we were SOL. But if I can help anyone else who’s looking for a hotel in Brooklyn to avoid having to use hotel BPM, then I did some good.
It was horrible dont waste your money!! I stayed 2 times prior great experience but within 1.5 years it went down. Walls in room dirty, very thin cheap toilet paper, furniture scratched up, dirty wash clothes and towels as well as and the smell of weed every day all day. I called and wanted to change room but was ignored. Homeless people live there full time for I was told they have a contract with the city for the past year so you see them all throughout the hotel. TV didnt work. Im staying at the Wyndham in Sunset Park next visit. A bit pricey but beautiful for I visited the property April 2018 while a visitor at BPM.
I just want to say that if you are on a budget orDo not plan to stay more than one day in Brooklyn, This is an okay budget hotel. My stay overall was okay. Nothing exciting about the rooms. Yes the furniture is a little beat up but I was able to sleep on the bed for two nights just fine. However there was a strange smell in my room that I could not identify. I really do not complain much when it comes to accommodations because most of the time u get what u pay for. The area around the hotel is pretty convenient. I had no trouble finding parking along the street on a weekend. The trains are only a few blocks away for easy access into the city. They told me they are supposedly doing renovations to bring the bar back and provide breakfast. I thought this hotel was renovated or started only a few years ago. Well anyway just dont expect much. If you are okay with basic, bare minimum amenities, you should have no issues with your stay.
Run, dont walk away!!!!! We usually stay at another hotel in Brooklyn but it was way too high for out 2 night stay, but next time we will just pay the higher prices. We checked in on Dec 6, we called to request early check-in and were told to come in. When we arrived the guy at the desk (he was friendly enough but he was also the first sign of things to come) said the elevator was out of service and suggested we come back at 4 we were tired and decided to tough it out but then he said our room was on the 5TH FLOOOOOR!!!! I was waiting in the lobby for my husband and the front desk guy called the elevator company and said he called two days ago...so 4pm wouldnt have made a difference UGH!!! We hike up to the room, bad knees and all and well, you know those movies where the midwestern teen with big dreams enters their glitzy NY apt and it turn out to be a slum apt....this was that! The room hadnt been cleaned properly. The curtains were frayed at the end, all of the furniture was in some state of broken or damaged, the phone was unplugged and even when plugged in it didnt work, the only fully functioning item were the heat, sink, the toiled flush, and the lights. Thassssssit! That same evening a tech came put and got the elevator working. We went out, by the time we got back it was out of service again...me had to hike up 5 flights again!!!!! We decided to checkout ear and early the next morning. The guy (a completely different person, we saw 4 different front desk staff in less than 24 hours) promised a refund since we werent staying two nights. Just checked my account and I never received the refund. Now we have to dispute the charge. HORRIBLE!!!
This place is a complete disaster. My companion and I checked in on 3/25/19 and were told that there was no available parking for our stay. Once we got our room key, we went upstairs and discovered the TV wasnt working. When we tried to call downstairs for assistance, this old dusty phone next to the bed is what we used. Unfortunately, the phone didnt work. We were moved to another room where there was no phone. Actually, the phone was in the back of the wardrobe on a filthy shelf unplugged. The bathroom wasnt clean either. We tried to make the best of it until we had some late night visitors. Yep, you guessed it. ***BEDBUGS BEDBUGS BEDBUGS*** We then wanted to leave immediately and ask for a refund. The staff was rude and gave off kind of a tough luck attitude, unwilling to hold themselves responsible for such a horrific evening. PLEASE!!! DO NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, VISIT THIS PLACE. ITS COMPLETELY DISGUSTING.
It wasnt a bad deal initially when I paid for my room, but once I arrived to the hotel I had a bad experience with the hotel staff as far as checking me in early and apparently its first come first serve. Ive also never heard of a hotel that DOESNT serve anything and this even includes not having a pot of coffee in the lobby area as a complimentary beverage. Also when I asked about how their phones work as far as incoming and outgoing calls go and their whole phone system has been down for MONTHS apparently as well and theyre in no rush to get that fixed! I definitely will not ever stay here again in the future and Ill make sure all of my friends and family do the same.
This hotel is not what is seems. Everything in the pictures is not accurate. There is no DJ on the weekend, there is no bar in the hotel, and they have no food you would want to eat. The room was small and dirty. Sheets were not cleaned we had to use our own. Floors had not been cleaned and dust everywhere. When you check in they make you put a hold on your card and refuse to give it back. Still fighting for mine after a year. They do not answer when you try to call all they do is hang up. Staff was wearing flip flops and t-shirts. No one to bring bags upstairs you do everything yourself. Parking is not easy you have to find it a couple of streets away and neighborhood is not good to be walking around at night. This hotel is not a good idea.
The Hotel did not have a working phone and I was unable to contact them before I got there. Once I got to the room I checked the bed and it looked like someone had walked on the sheets. There was hair the sheets and makeup on the pillow. Since the phone did not work, I had to go downstairs talk to front desk about the issues. I was given new sheets and proceeded to go back upstairs and make my own bed. The hallways were dirty, not sure when they last vacuum. The staff at the front desk including security was on their personal phones each time you went past the lobby.
It was very unpleasant, to begin with the prices online are not the same in person, once I get my room, it is very dirty and not clean at all, the ceiling had mold and there was wrapping of candy on the floor. At night you can hear the ghetto screams, and cursing of the no good baby mommas who aren’t being supported by their dead beat baby daddy’s, there is no parking and the ghetto worker of this hotel smoke ALOT of WEED that is comes through your window, to top it all off the security guards are very disrespectful and aren’t worth a damn, they contribute to noise and the unpleasantness, if you want to know the owner of the hotel it is BIJAL PANWALA and he has done nothing to fix or correct the state of this hotel.
Staff was nice. Security guard was nice only good things about this hotel. When I arrived in my room I look in my closet and theres a big metal plan with left over food and a spoon in the closet. Now why would this be in a hotel room I dont know. Rooms dusty, floors sticky bathroom dirty. HORRIBLE I WOULD NEVER STAY AGAIN. o yeah there using the hotel as a shelter also.
We loved this hotel. The receptionists were awesome about arranging for cars and making sure we were able to navigate the train system around NYC. Housekeeping responded promptly to our needs. Room was quiet and had a great bed and linens. You dont have to be young to enjoy this hotel. We are in our 60s!!
I wish I could give this place a negative star! The place was locked when we tried to check in, and the reception and guard, or whatever, were smoking weed when we arrived. We get to the room and it so rundown that I didnt even want to sleep there. The wall were dingy and disgusting. We slept. The bed had BEDBUGS!!! My husband got bite everywhere, which is not what we needed for our first day of our honeymoon. I would never go to this place again, even it were free or someone paid me to sleep there. Dont waste your money. Go to a holiday inn Express, same price, better quality.
I’d give this place 0 stars if I could. When we got there, the lobby smelled like weed. The lady running the front desk took approximately 10 minutes to check us in, then proceeded to tell us breakfast was not available, even though the website and the check in information when you book the place tell you otherwise. We get on the elevator, trash on the ground and cracked tiles. Get to our floor, smells like weed. Get to our room, it’s filthy. Looks like it’s never been dusted or swept. There’s trash on the floor. The sheet had mascara on them. The place was gross. We decided we needed to go elsewhere for the weekend (3 night stay was what we had booked) and when we asked for our money back, they told us no because it was too late. Even though it would take checking in and going to our room to realize how filthy of a place this was, we were told too bad you can’t get money back now. Ridiculous. Would never recommend this place. Looks like it was probably cool when it opened and if it was ever clean. But nowadays, nah, this place is GROSS.
I stayed here this weekend and it was horrible. The ac unit in my room was clearly broken, as the room was disgustingly hot, and I asked the 3 times to fix it or move me to another room. They kept sending up hotel staff to fix it (which means they all pushed some buttons on it and left) but it never actually got fixed so we spent 2 nights and 3 days in a highly uncomfortable state. Also, the book of hotel amenities and local places that was in the room had a room service menu in it. When I called down to order the girl acted like I was crazy and informed me they had no food or room service at the hotel. They do sell beverages, however they do not have an ice machine anywhere in the hotel! Come on, even a Motel 6 has an ice machine available! The bar mentioned on the website is not open any longer. Also, I booked a package that supposedly came with a bottle of wine. I had to ask for the bottle 3 times and it came up with no wine opener to open it and since the room was so hot it got warm in no time and with no ice to chill it, it ended up never getting drank. The room itself was pretty but the whole stay was just awful!
I travel a lot with it wife and I, and every year we travel for our anniversary. I made the mistake of choosing this hotel. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone unless you want unfriendly and rude staff. From the moment we checked in it has been a nightmare. The elevator did not work during our entire stay. Our room did not have any towels, when my wife went down to the front desk there was no one, because they were outside talking to friends. When we finally got towels they were labeled sucio which means dirty. The room 403 which was the first room had some sort of stain that looked like dry blood all over the side, if not water stains not sure. They offered us a new room, and it was a bit better but not much better. The sheets were not changed from the previous people staying. On our last night 7/30/16 we got locked out of the hotel. The front end person was just sitting there on her cell phone. We did not know what was going on so we slid the door like any other guest would when they paid for a whole week stay. She cursed under her breath why we opened it, then she said it was closed for security reasons. I told her it is not a way to treat hotel guests, and she started screaming and yelling to get a different hotel and she would call the cops. If it were not for the fact that we paid our travel agent for the stay in advance we wouldve left. We are in the process of hopefully getting a refund for this poor experience. This hotel needs new owner, new management, and new employees, or just stay out of the hotel business Perminantly.
I get there and they gave me a room already occupied. I get another room and as soon as I step off the elevator the carpet looked like it hadnt been vacuumed in months. I get to my room, that I was told was ready, and shook my head. I know what clean is and that wasnt it. There was tissue on the floor behind the toilet and behind the door. The closet was connected to the dresser and the top drawer of the dresser wouldnt close. If you tried opening the closet the door would open the dresser drawer. To top it all off my refrigerator was full of old food. How could housekeeping miss that???
The hotel was extremely competitively priced, which, for us, was the main reason behind our choosing this hotel. It is situated in Brooklyn, not near anything of particular note. However, it is only five minutes walk from 36th St. Metro station. It is then only 16 minutes to Times Square. Despite appearing to be a newly built hotel from the outside, it is relatively rundown and tired inside, though not excessively slow. Most of the fixtures and fittings are of low quality, but they were sufficient given the low price we paid. The included breakfast was adequate, as was the bed and air conditioning. The staff were mostly friendly, but lacked any real knowledge or motivation. There was an issue we had with lack of towels which was not resolved for our entire stay. We would stay again. In conclusion, a cheap, reasonable and comfortable hotel. Just dont expect luxury or fantastic service and you wont be disappointed.
The worst experience I ever had in my life. The rooms were super dirty including the sheets we were sleeping. At 1pm started to arrive a lot of people, they were party really hard and using drugs. I felt UNSAFE and DISGUSTED about that place. My piece of advise. NEVER go there.
My fiancée recently stayed at Hotel BPM while in town for a friends wedding. We originally found the hotel through the Google hotel search, and found some standard pricing, which came out to a bit better than what we were finding in Manhattan. We decided to check out their website to get some more details on what the hotel was about, and loved the concept (a hotel founded by a DJ? Quite interesting), and the photos of the rooms that we saw. Thats where we found their amazing specials page, and got a great rate on our weekend stay (which we also booked in advance, getting us two discounts).Getting to the hotel, we found that its style is a bit ahead of the surrounding area. Its a very modern looking place, with sound and slick design coming across as core elements. And the rooms actually look just like they do in the pictures online!Add to all that the amazing service the staff provided and Hotel BPM was just a really great place to stay. Loraine, David, Ashley, Tatiana (I may be misspelling some names here) and team really took the time to ensure that guests were really comfortable and enjoying their stay. To the point where we had a small problem with our room and they expertly handled it within the hour. The only niggling bits that stuck with me were the fact that the doors and walls seemed a bit thin (we were able to hear sounds from the hall outside our room), and the in washroom speaker was not quite able to get loud enough to even be heard while taking a shower. Its possible that the latter is related to the former.Overall, DJ Bijals got himself a great hotel, and an amazing team. If they manage to open the roof as a patio and bar, it will be quite the hot spot.
This is a place really TERRIBLY hotel, there is too DIRTY, do not even CLEAN in a room, a lot of DUST, a blanket is a light black- not ever wash it. A floor is very sticky and dust when I noticed my barefoot. A bathroom and shower are very FILTHY! I RECOMMEND- DO NOT EVER BOOK this a place. Also, I am the REAL Deaf individual. They do not provide accommodations in my needs. They havent ADA accessible room, Hearing impaired kits are upon request!
I could not have been happier with my stay. I found the hotel online and my whole experience was great from the booking to checkout. The staff was very friendly and eager to help with anything. Hotel BPM is definitely for music lovers with a D.J. spinning in the lobby on Friday and Saturday and free drinks, loving that genius idea. I stayed at the hotel for Sensation 2012 and it was one of the best times I have had in a long time. I won’t stay anywhere else next time I visit Brooklyn, NY.
Super rundown, not clean in the slightest, and bed doesn’t even have a duvet cover on the dirty duvet. Hardly any of the listed amenities are even available. Definitely not worth it for the price. Edit: post stay, also super annoying that they don’t give you a receipt at checkout. Not a legit business.
Location: This hotel is a convenient walk from the R,N, and D subway lines. There is an express train at 36th street that can get you to Manhattan within 30 minutes. However, there is not much in the way of food near the hotel. There is a Subway (sandwich shop) on a nearby corner and really cheap Chinese take-out nearby that is delicious, but thats about it.Service: This was really the biggest problem. The staff were generally friendly, but the cleaning and maintenance was very poorly managed. There were some major hiccups during our 5-day/6-night stay, mostly revolving around room service. This is a list of problems we had regarding room service:(1) When we arrived to the hotel for check-in at 4pm (exactly when we said we would on our reservation), our room was not finished being cleaned for another half hour.(2) One day during our stay, it appeared there was absolutely NO room service whatsoever. On other days, the room service that did come appeared to do MINIMAL cleaning (I cannot emphasize this enough).(3) Even when putting the card on the bed requesting fresh linens, this request was not consistently fulfilled.(4) There are glasses in your room when you get there. I used one of the glasses on the first night and it was not washed or replaced for our ENTIRE STAY.(5) Although there are TWO toilet paper roll dispensers, the room was so incompletely/irregularly serviced that we actually ran out of toilet paper, and I had to go down to the front desk to get it. Any other hotel would have replaced the first toilet paper roll to run out, so that there was always toilet paper. They also did not replace the empty box of tissues in our room.(6) On THREE days (of five days), there were no fresh towels in our room when we returned at the end of the day. The first time this happened, we requested more towels (about 11pm), they said they would bring some up. Half an hour later - still no towels. We called again and they informed us that their linen cleaning service had not brought them by the hotel yet. Instead of telling us this when we first called, we just waited around expecting them at any minute. The other two days, it seemed like they just didnt remember put towels in our room.(7) When requesting room items that were not provided from housekeeping, service was unpredictable and slow enough that we found it best to go to the front desk and insist we were handed whatever needed item and bring it up to the room ourselves - otherwise we may be waiting for it for 30-60 minutes.Cleanliness: Considering the quality of room service - cleanliness is questionable. The room, floor, and bed FELT clean, but considering their cleaning service missed OBVIOUS room service tasks, I cant help but believe they cut corners elsewhere. Also, although we had one of the nicest rooms, our shower leaked a SIGNIFICANT amount of water on the bathroom floor. We had to use a couple towels to clean this up every time we took a shower. The glass door is about a quarter-inch of space above the floor where water gets through and leaves a large puddle. I dont know if other rooms had this problem.Food: Breakfast was pretty good, but carb-heavy. Coffee, tea, juice, water, bagels, croissants, waffle maker. There was a fruit salad bowl and yogurt, but not a lot of other fiber or protein sources. Pleasant little dining/bar area. There are little water bottles at the bar for free and a few sodas/beer. There is also a Keurig in the room with Dunkin Donut coffee inserts (a big strong for my taste). There is a mini-fridge in the room, but no microwave in the rooms.Price: Overall, for what you get the price is reasonable. Its less expensive than other places in Manhattan, but is still conveniently located. The breakfast and amenities in the room make it a good place to stay if you want something between and a nice hotel and a budget motel. A modest price for a modest hotel.
I walked in and sat down next to this man who was on the phone in the waiting area. He was older and of Indian decent. No one was at the front desk so I was waiting for about 10 minutes. Then the man turns to me and says, Maam do you need something? I said, Do you work here? He said, Yes I said, Oh, youre sitting down on this couch I didnt know you work here. And then he had the nerve to say, Am I not allowed to sit down? Im not even gonna finish this conversation.. The place is filthy. Its an old building but rooms have new appliances and whatnot. Its unfortunate bc theres so much potential, but the housekeeping is trash. The hallways small like cigarettes and carpet is filthy. The rooms are filthy. My floor was sticky so I laid bath towels to walk. My shower door wouldnt close all the way. Comforters werent clean. Duvet had no cover. The only thing on the bed that looked clean were the pillow cases. So I pulled one off a pillow and slept on top of that on top of the comforter. Used bedsheet as my blanket. Found ants. Killed them. Lamp was gross and ripped and crooked and just a no. Walls were filthy. Headboard was dirty. There was writing on the wall. Mirror by night stand was broken. Now I always expect pictures online to look better than what it looks like in real life, but this is just unacceptable. They didnt even give me a receipt after check-out. She said I booked through Expedia so Expedia will send me a receipt, which is inaccurate bc Ive been given receipts before booking through Expedia. Its not my first rodeo.
I dont travel often. My priorities in searching for a room were 1. in room coffee 2. in room hair dryer 3. a shower that would accommodate a shower bench and a hand held shower. 4. breakfast at the hotel. I checked the reviews for cleanliness ratings. Imagine my surprise to find that the website is totally misleading. There is no in room coffee--at all much less the Keurig that I came prepared to use. There was no hair dryer (I later discovered it stashed under the sink in a pouch)..the shower was smaller than I anticipated from the pictures but it did accommodate the shower bench I had to bring with. Breakfast consisted of some frozen mini pastries and fresh apples. When I got to the room it appeared clean and fresh but there was a layer of a soot like matter on the floor that left my feet black and gritty. There is no bar. There is no entertainment. The in-room sound system was beyond my knowlege as to how to activate it through blue-tooth. I would have found other arrangements but this is what saved the day. Kyesha, who was at the front desk at arrival, offered warm greetings to a very frazzled traveler. When I called down inquiring about the coffee maker she explained it was a management decision to eliminate them but sent up some hot, fresh coffee. When I inquired about where the ice maker was located she explained there wasnt one on the floor but she sent up a bucket of ice. When I asked about the hair dryer--she sent someone with one immediately. There was nothing I asked for that was not provided graciously. The helpers that arrived at the door were friendly and courteous and always left with a please-if there is anything else we can do to help-dont hesitate to ask....The woman that came in to clean the room was a dynamo...she cleaned the floors so that even the immaculate white towels didnt show a trace of soot. The way she made the bed was a work of art and she didnt stop until the last corner was tucked and wrinkle was smoothed. The shower was wonderful--plenty of hot water from the rainfall and the hand held part. The glass doors were spotless and there were lots of snowy white and thick towels. The lack of a bar and/or entertainment were the lesser of all evils. There were plenty of food venues available for carry out . If I were to visit Brooklyn again and I knew these same employees were there to help out I would certainly consider booking a room again. I had the opportunity to speak to one of the owners before I left. I conveyed my concerns about the inaccuracy of the website, the cleanliness upon arrival and how Kyesha and her crew had saved the day. I wasnt offered any compensation.
The exterior of the hotel is nice enough but once you enter the elevators you start sense how beat up or lived in the hotel is. There are marks all over the walls of the hallways. The room were given looked like someone had banged luggage or furniture around the room because it was to small to get around. There are NO wash clothes provided by the hotels. What hotel does that? Felt more like a hostel than a hotel. Bathroom setup was weird becuase the toilet tissue holder was soo far away from the toilet that you have to get off the toilet to get the tissue. You can get much better for the price.
Good price and location was convenient for our reason for being in Brooklyn. The music theme was cool but the hotel was quite old and 3 star on cleanliness. Breakfast was discontinued as well, but there are a couple decent places within walking distance so that wasnt a big deal.
Friendly staff, but it doesnt feel like a 5 star hotel. If the price is alright its a definitely a great place to stay (especially if you want to be out of midtown, the area has a very different feel, but you can still get to Manhattan quickly on the D train). Breakfast was a nice touch, since it is free, and free is good, and I was also pleasantly surprised by the reasonable minifridge prices. All in all, its an okay place to stay.
If it was posible I would review this garbage hole with negative stars. If you enjoy being terrified out of your mind to stay in the hotel as well as walking out in the dark into a ghetto area then this is the wonderland for you!!!! If you enjoy begging and pleading with the front desk to give you towels so you can bath only for them to smell like pot, burnt food, and stale cigarettes then youll love this experience as well! If you enjoy climbing 6 flights on stairs for you to even get a cup of coffee which entails you leaving the hotel because god for bid they have coffee lol then this place is for you for sure! The elevator did not work and at one point I slipped and fell in the hallway on what it looked like on my clothes as blood lol oh well another thing I would keep my mouth shut about! Also the air conditioners are broke in the rooms so your freezing beyond control you shake so much from being so cold that when you again beg the front desk for some blankets then give you two stained comforters and awwwwwwww are accompanied by bugs it almost became like a comedic act to see how much more awful this hotel could make your stay! Folks if you like to feel absolutely dirty, if you like living in fear on vacation, if you enjoy the ghetto atmosphere and every single Direction you look something being broken or having to beg for basic necessities then this place is for you ! Oh and to make your stay even more enjoyable they will write back that they never recognized your stay at this dump hell hole and then when you try speak to management because I AM in the business of hospitality I run 7 companies so I do not like complaining I believe people are a pain in the ass and want everything for free....... management seems to never be there and could care less. You should be humiliated that this building is even open!Imbarassing lol
My wife and I stayed here for our anniversary in April. The staff was wonderful and accomidating. A nice cozy room inches from the subway in a quiet part of Brooklin. Dont go in expecting the Hyatt, but the staff is A+ and the rooms are adorable. Love it, would recommend to anyone. Dont hesitate to stay here.
We would not stay at this Hotel. Web site is false . The 2nd and 3rd floors are section 8 housing. Our room on the fifth floor (no working elevator), was in disary, broken furniture, smashed lampshade , dirty shower, sheets did not fit properly exposing badly stained mattress. Airconditioner filthy and broken . Does not even deserve a star but had to indicate one in order to post.
The front desk staff were, for the most part, friendly and helpful. Liz was by far the most helpful, as she recommended awesome restaurants and let me hang out in the lobby until my room was ready. The only problems? There arent many options for food near the hotel. Im sure that you could find many awesome things by taking the subway (conveniently located a few blocks away), but I didnt have time to explore. Also, I was woken up very early by a construction crew in my hallway. But Im sure that doesnt happen too often. All in all, a very cool place to stay!
Really nice hotel. The room and beds were extremely comfortable. Keurig coffee maker in the room with Green Mountain coffee. Those are my 2 top requirements for a hotel room. You can crack a window for air (another priority), and the shower is very nice. This is what got it 5 stars. The down side of the room was the internet. While it worked, it wasnt good for streaming. The TV was a little odd as well. I believe it was on the WiFi network, and it would freeze up periodically. I didnt really miss either one, but I thought I would mention it.The staff is really nice and helpful.Lots a little taquarias in the area and fast food. Close to the train. All in all, I would recommend it, and would stay here again.
Based on our stay Thursday (5/15/14) night, Friday, Saturday, and checking out Sunday (5/18/14), Id like to make a few remarks: (1) The service is excellent; (2) The breakfast offered is ok, as weve been reading reviews and it seemed like the kitchen repair/renovation should be complete by the time we got there, but it wasnt, hence, the limited breakfast. Breakfast was ok - bagels, muffins, fruit, juice, coffee; (3) They put us on the top floor (sixth floor). The elevator only went up to the 5th floor due to a part failure. We werent even notified of this. Fortunately, a nice employee insisted on carrying out two bags from the 5th to the 6th floor. (3) Housekeeping: marginally ok. I say this because the room was very clean, but we could see where the housekeeping staff didnt clean, like underneath the wall mounted night stands. There was a Keurig coffee maker with (2) regular & (2) decaf containers but NO sweetener, creamer packs. We drank our coffees black without anything on Friday morning. We left a tip of $2.00 for the housekeeper on Friday morning. When we got back to the room late Friday afternoon, the bed was made, only one towel was replaced (there were 3 towels when we arrived - three were used and 2 were on the floor to be replaced). The television (cable) and phone were out. We were going to a wedding Friday evening and were in a hurry to get ready to meet a cab. We told the employee behind the front desk about the cable and he said it was planned as they were adding more channels. The cable was out when we got back to the room late Saturday night. We just used the used towels again. We went out most of the day on Saturday. We told the girl behind the front desk about it and she said that shed make sure it was fixed. When we got back to the room, the floor obviously wasnt completely cleaned, as the dirt was still under the night stands. We did get three towels. Needless to say - no tip. The cable and phone were still out. We went out to dinner to meet friends. When we got back late Saturday night, the cable and phone were working. We went to bed, got up and checked out on Sunday. The gentleman behind the front desk said everythings ok. I asked about a receipt and he said it would be mailed. Well see. All in all, the BPM is a very nice hotel. A little lengthy review, but its all those little things that can make ones stay iffy. We would definitely stay at the BPM again. The staff needs to be a little more proactive.
Recently spent a month at Hotel BPM while in town working. Everything was great. The staff were very helpful. The beds were comfortable. The neighborhood has a real Brooklyn feel, and its only a block away from the N Train that whips you into Manhattan in minutes. I deff recommend Hotel BPM and cant wait to be back.
Blood stains on my sheets... The elevator ... while rated for 12 by NYC inspectors has a unprofessional sign saying only 4 People. .. and it broke down 3 times in 3 days. Its only saving grace was the bathrooms are VERY nice and the staff was friendly an helpful. It is the nicest building in two mile radius..which is not saying much.. think little Mexico.Close to the subway.
Clean rooms with nice bathrooms (not enough counter space in bathroom though) the breakfast was your typical hotel/motel breakfast, except fresh cut fruit was a nice extra! Wifi good, tv channels awesome (had Netflix), only a couple blocks from the subway, easy access to the freeway. The down side is that our ac unit made a huge amount of noise! Also queen beds are more like double beds.
The BPM is a great hotel in Brooklyn. There is a subway station about 5 minutes away. The whole hotel is pretty modern and very clean. The room was quite big by NYC measures. There was free coffee, tea and WLAN in the room. Plan about 20 minutes to get to Manhattan. The staff is absolutely friendly and helped out with handy tips. They basically saved the day when they were able to lent us an umbrella on a super rainy day. We absolutely liked staying at BPM and would book it again.
Cash was missing from my wallet, i reported it to the staff and they said the manager would have contacted me but I still couldnt get in touch with her.Someone went in my room when i went to the lower lobby for breakfast one morning. Because the night before i didnt leave the room and the only thing i did was pay the food delivery guy. After breakfast one of the staff entered rhe room while i was inside, and i never changed the sign on the door for room service (ever). He apologised and said the sign was flipped. But what was weird is that he didnt knock and he didnt have a cleaning cart or and new linen. Later on during the day thats when i realized all my cash was missing.
Guys please I beg ! DONT come to this hotel toilet and tub were dirty ! No facial soap or bar soaps ! Room smelled terrible ! Wasn’t a hotel was definently a trap house ! HORRIBLE. The pictures posted FALSEEEE ! Looks nothing like the pictures, don’t waste your money here.
Terrible. Avoid. There was a previous guest’s underwear on the bathroom floor behind the door. I didn’t notice until my second (and last) night... because I hadn’t closed the door until then. When I complained at checkout the person at the desk told me I should have said something before and gave a rude, half-assed apology. This is a bad hotel.
I would never recommend this hotel to anyone I made a reservation and by mistake I made it for the next day when I really needed it for the same day and when I try to communicate with the hotel no one takes the phone I go to them in person a lady tells me that phone does not work and they can not help me with my problems because it is not their fault and they did not refund my money or I could sleep in the hotel. I gave my money to them that is stealing in a few words for me it is the worst New York hotel
Terrible customer service. Tried calling 15 times before our stay to add a day to our reservation and no response. Phone just rings and rings and eventually disconnects. God forbid you have an issue with your reservation before you stay there. Ended up cancelling reservation due to lack of response. The hotel looks very nice. Its unfortunate their service is so terrible.
THIS WAS THE ABSOLUTE WWWWWOOOOOOOORRRST HOTEL I HAVE EVER BEEN AT IN MY ENTIRE LIFE (AND I TRAVEL A LOT). THE ROOMS WERE DIRTY..THEY HAD ROACHES..ELEVATOR WASNT WORKING..STAFF DIDNT HAVE UNIFORMS..THEY AAAALLL HAD ON STREET CLOTHES. RIPPED JEANS..T SHIRTS ETC. STAFF WAS OUTSIDE SMOKING WEED AND DRINKING LIQUOR IN FRONT OF THE HOTEL. ONLY TO FIND OUT BY ONE OF THE STAFF THAT THEY ARE EMPLOYED BY THE HOMELESS SHELTER UP THE STREET. I ASKED FOR HELP AND THE LADY HAD TO FINISH HER CIGARETTE OUTSIDE FIRST BEFORE COMING IN TO HELP ME...THEN KEPT THE CIGARETTE IN HER FINGERS WHILE GIVING ME A ZIPLOCK BAG OF ICE FOR MY ROOM. THE ENTIRE HOUSEKEEPING STAFF HAD CALLED OFF THE ENTIRE WEEKEND BECAUSE THEY REFUSED TO CLIMB THE STAIRS TO DO THEIR JOBS. MY SHEETS WERE CHANGES BY 2 MEN IN STREET CLOTHES..BASEBALL CAPS, I WAS TOLD BY ONE OF THEM I SHOULD BE DOWNSTAIRS SMOKING AND DRINKING MY HENNESSY INSTEAD OF CHANGING YOUR SHEETS. I DIDNT WANNA GIVE IT ANY STARS BUT I HAD TO IN ORDER TO POST. WE BOOKED 20 ROOMS FOR MY SISTERS WEDDING AND BPM TOTALLY RUINED THE WHOLE THING.
If you want to be close to Manhattan for a good price, with a subway nearby and not too much noise around, this small hotel is a good choice. We had an economy room with king size beds. They were also king size, and you could sleep well in it. The sheets and the towels were clean and fresh. A spacious walk-in shower, only the space around the bed is limited. Most of the time we were outside during the day, so it didnt bother us. The management was friendly and very helpful. The breakfast was not extensive, but certainly adequate, with delicious bagels and not too sweet waffles, which filled well. You were no longer hungry all morning. The surroundings of the hotel are not too beautiful in terms of appearance, but there is a cozy atmosphere and you feel safe there. All in all we are certainly satisfied and would go there again.
So ... what to start ... The reception is not top top ... It really feels like disturbing. The elevator is an impressive slowness. We are even afraid to stay locked up because the doors take several minutes to open. The rooms ... it goes quickly. A little fridge all wanking, a wardrobe and all the drawers ... Ill let you guess. Too bad there is no kettle. To light the bedside lamps, you must have done the MIT. 2 window blinds including 1 blackout. At least, double glazing. A big TV. A good king size bed, which is very good. The bathroom is ok too. On the other hand, level cleanliness, its not that at all. We stayed 10 days and the cleaning was not done once. The floor was disgusting. The bed redone but without changing the sheets. We had to ask for clean sheets ... the height. The towels were changed and the bins emptied. They do not do breakfast so thankfully there is a lot of groceries in the neighborhood. So plan your food and drinks. For wheelchair users, the shower enclosure is large with support bars but hard to move around the room. Short hotel not so good but when you go to NY, you do not spend your day at the hotel. But if you want to rest a day, you will quickly depress in this room.
In general my experience was bad, to begin with they did not have a couple of things that said their page and when they complained they told me that this had to do with the company that I used as an intermediary. The first days did not even leave bottles of water in the room, I had to buy mine; Once I asked for a spoon and they told me they would take it but they never did it, at least 3 times they did not clean the room even though I left the sign for them to do it; They only tended the bed and changed the towels. There are very nice people in the dining room, and a couple of people are also very friendly at reception but not all. If you are a foreigner, they do not give you any information if you do not ask them, for example: maps and activity brochures, among others. The area is not exactly bad, and the subway is very close, as well as many places of different types of food.
The hotel is inconspicuous from the outside and the area sober to ugly. I had great difficulty sleeping because of the noise of a nearby expressway. The window could only be opened a crack. If you closed the window, the noisy air conditioner disturbed your sleep. My room was ok, the staff helpful and friendly, but the offered breakfast was pathetic. However, there were plenty of opportunities to eat in the vicinity and on foot and also a metro access is within easy walking distance.
On arrival, the Wi-Fi was out of order and only on the fourth day worked again. Cleaning is a foreign word in this hotel. Hair was, tufts in the showering river. The management leaves the hotel, which has a great design, so slowly degenerate. Of course, my German ideas about Saub are not compatible with those in Brooklyn. But I expect a minimum standard. To be fair, one has to say that an attempt was made to remedy the shortcomings, but very slowly.
You rent a room, you come to your room, and it is open, and there someone is already sleeping. The price is too high and absolutely do not correspond to the condition of the hotel rooms. In the morning, someone was breaking into my door, trying to open. And the area is not the safest. Horrible place
We are only one day in this hotel. The breakfast is so bad you just cant believe that there are only round defrosted bagels, and there are only two types of packaged jam, mini packaged butter and mini packaged cheese spread. There is no sausage, no eggs and nothing else that would be edible. But I have to mention that there is good coffee and what bothers me so much is that there are only very thin plastic cutlery, just do not press it on otherwise it breaks immediately. You have to ask for orange juice otherwise there is none. The elevator no longer wanted to go from now on we have to walk to the 5 + 6 floor.
When we arrived tired in the hotel, we could not find our reservation and we should pay again for five days, which of course we did not do, we negotiated the next day until everything cleared the first night to pay to look for something new. We liked the supposedly best room ... the room was ok ... the closet is almost falling apart but the bathroom was new and clean it was ... the next morning everything was clear, since we are only to sleep anyway there are., We stayed, our cleaning lady (we always put a tip, then it works with the pitzen, etc .. (on the floor) ... the hotel is not very well maintained, there are also priva people live there, We felt safe, but a second time I would not book itThe area is not nice but the people are very polite and helpfulBreakfast is best in donkin donat take, subway nearby

2022-02-10This is a welfare/shelter for people that are homeless. Many are middle age men and women with some sort of Addition to drugs and or alcohol. Don’t recommend anyone to stay there.

2019-11-08I never done a review before but I definitely felt the need to do one on this place. Recently stayed here on 11/06 and it was horrible. First of all they use it as a shelter so people are living there. Secondly it feels very lived in I have been to many hotels and it has been clean not this one.thirdly Stains on the sheet and nothing worked no ice machine. Fourthly the elevator takes like 10 mins to get to the floor. Lastly they offer free breakfast but there is none the whole hotel smells like cigarettes. I really wish I can can get a refund but hey it happens to the best of us.Never again!

2019-11-11I previously stayed at your hotel on the dates of 11/08/19-11/10/19 and the room was not in the best condition. The walls were not wiped and the sheets were not changed at all. There was a giant urine stain on the bed along with old blood stains. And there was a spring sticking out the side of the bed in which I scratched my leg on. Empty bottle of shampoo instead of replacing it. I asked the younger African American guy at the front desk if someone could come look at the room. He said just ask the man up there for new sheets. Or that he would send someone but no one ever came and there wasn’t another room we could be switched to. The morning of check out we spoke with Ruth the front desk woman who told us she couldn’t do anything for us besides throw the bed out. But we were leaving so it did us no justice that we had to stay two days in that room with problems no reimbursement or sympathy for what we went through at all it was an overall bad experience and the employees were horrible.

2018-04-26From the website this hotel looks great. They advertise many amenities that are no longer offered. The neighborhood is not the best, with no restaurants within walking distance and no food offered on site. All of the sheets and towels were stained and dirty. The room itself is worn down and dirty. Also I kept waking up feeling like bugs were crawling all over me! When I checked out the bill made no sense. Someone charged stuff to my room but it wasn’t me! Very frustrating!

2019-06-23Between the day before check-in and the day of check-in, I called at least a half dozen times just for the phone to ring for 2 minutes with nobody answering a single call.Room was dirty. Every drawer had hair, dust, and dirt accumulated. Night stands had weird stains. Floors hadn’t been swept or mopped in a WHILE. Least comfortable mattress I’ve ever slept on and the sheets were stained. Toilet seat was unscrewed in one side.. Even the bathroom towels were low quality.Website promises all these cool amenities but there isn’t a single amenity in the building aside from an ATM in the lobby.I would never stay at Hotel BPM in Brooklyn again and wouldn’t recommend anyone else does either.

2018-04-18The hotel is dirty, had stuff missing from my room, and building is trembling!First impression: In the pictures I thought that the hotel actually looked really nice for the price; however, once inside my room after waiting for the elevator forever (literally, you would have to wait for the elevator for about 5-10 min each time, which would prompt me to just head for the staircase in the end), I couldnt help but to notice how worn down the rooms were. The walls were dirty and damaged, could definitely use paint, furniture was damaged, there were red stains on the wall and bed, in the bed I found hairs from another person and during my stay, the bed would be made, but they wouldnt actually put a sheet/cover on the blankets, blanket was very dirty and when I asked them to put a sheet on it, the cleaning lady just tossed me a sheet for me to put it on myself. Also, although the cleaning service was in the room each day, they wouldnt take out the filled garbage-can, which was weird.Another thing that made me uncomfortable, is that I was staying on the 5th floor and literally every 5 min. I would feel the building trebling, everything would be shaking. I actually panicked and thought it was a smaller earthquake, but then noticed that it had to be the building because it happened all the time, I would even wake up fro my sleep and feel the shaking.Despite all this, I had kept patient and quiet and just tried to enjoy my stay. BUT THEN, on my last day when I started packing up, I noticed some of my new clothes with tags on was missing! I reported this right away to reception and was actually really nice about it, because I thought to myself that it might have been that the cleaning lady simply did not see that the shopping bags still had clothes in it and maybe she had tossed the bags out by accident thinking they were empty...Well the manager was of course not there, so the receptionist promised that the manager would call me the following they... I have now returned to Denmark without some of my new things and 3 days later, I had still not gotten any calls or e-mails from them. I had to take it upon myself to call them various times, and I was told my another receptionist that my missing stuff is my own property; thus, it is not their responsibility or problem (less they washed their hands like that).. also I was told, that they had checked the surveillance and there were no cleaning lady coming out with my shopping bags on the surveillance and therefore they could conclude that it was definitely not one of their cleaning ladies which had taken my bags! ... Now, Im trying to make logic of what they are saying, but non of it makes sense! If I came in with the bags, never took them out again of my room, then who did because they were clearly no longer there! Second of all, if someone purposely took my bags, then obviously they wont go wavering around the bag for the camera! I just found the whole crew to be incompetent and disrespectful: NO CARE FOR THE CUSTOMER AT ALL!The last straw was when I approached the receptionist to prolong my stay for a few hours as my plane did not leave until midnight. I told her that I would be leaving at 9 pm vs the original check out time 12pm. She asked me $50 for the overstay, which is completely reasonable and she charged it right away on my credit card ... In the meantime I left the hotel to run some last errands, came back to my room at the hotel at 6pm and immediately I get a call from the reception (this was another receptionist) who told me that it was 6pm and therefore I had to immediately check out or else I would be charged further for the whole night!!! I had to argue with him, and at this point my calm person was completely out of character because this could simply just not be true as I had made an agreement a few hours earlier and was charged the extra $50 for the stay to 9pm!In conclusion: this hotel is a mess, unprofessional, and the crew is by far unfit to run a hotel.

2019-12-04Perhaps a list would be easier to summarize how terrible this hotel is:-Pictures on the websites are NOT reflective of what the rooms actually look like-if you don’t tell the front desk you want your room cleaned, house keeping will not stop by your room-cigarette stains on the comforters-dirty sheets-no remotes for the TV-doors have broken locks-lobby (and the entirety of the hotel, for that matter) smells like weed and cigarettes-elevator is a trap. Literally got stuck in there for 10 minutes between floors-less than sympathetic or helpful staff-no uniforms. The guy in the lobby looks like they grabbed any random guy and placed him by the front desk.-phones in the rooms don’t work-called the front desk from my cell phone, was on hold for 15 minutes, ran downstairs to see the two women manning the front desk watching videos on their phones with their headphones in.-Walked by the front desk various times without anyone there. Elevator access does not need any type of hotel room key access, and with the locks broken to the actual rooms, literally anyone could break in.-Was able to speak to one of the employees who explained the owner is well aware of all of these issues and chooses not to address them.-Never got as much as a “sorry” from them. I didn’t expect the Ritz but I definitely didn’t expect to have to fight for a clean place to sleep. Spend your hard earned money somewhere else and save yourself the headache.

2019-07-01I had to go around the corner to get a bottle of Clorox to wipe down all the surfaces — with hopes and prayers that I wouldn’t catch anything. This place was absolutely disgusting. This hotel has a lot of potential but it’s careless management shows. The room was not cleaned properly at all. I could understand if the place is a little old and run-down, but it’s way beyond that. And the mattress was old with the metal springs coming out from the sides and big yellow and dark red stains (dried blood that has NEVER been been cleaned). The moment we got there, a man who looked like the manager was just sitting behind the counter and did not attend us until another young man in regular clothes came back from his break to check us in. The manager was not busy and could have attended us. And for the conditions that this place is in, you can’t just blame the staff, though they seem to not care. Management needs to set the standard. From the look of it, the standards here are extremely below. From the disgusting room, to the smoke detector hanging off the wall, to the dysfunctional elevator with food garbage on the floor... this place does not deserve anyone’s money. Do better. Care a little more about the service and quality of stay that you provide.

2019-07-03My wife and I booked a room for one night and we just had the most awful experience. The room we originally booked had a cracked sink, clogged drain, and a broken phone. So we asked the receptionist for another room. The second room was even worse. It had a clogged sink and a dead bed bug on the bed sheets along with blood stain on the pillows from what could be former victims. I would not recommend spending your money here. The hotel and the agent will both give you the run around for a refund.

2019-08-02There was no one at the front desk at night and it was dark in the loby. The kingsized suite was just a king bed in a regular sized room. Just enough space to walk around the bed and desk. The bed was very squeeky! No bueno The bathroom set up was minimal. This hotel does not offer body gel or lotion. My shampoo and conditioner probally should have been refilled before I checked in. I enjoyed the blue light around the mirror. The bathroom air unit was noisey and sounded like it was gona fall from the ceiling. The bathroom has two areas were you can see someones silloute as they are bathing or are on the toilet. The silloute may be nice if you are on an adults night out. But maybe depending on who you are with it may be awkward. The sink was also clogged water took over an hour to go down so I had to brush my teeth wile I bathed. I did enjoy the rain shower head!My pillows were very FLAT pancake Flat. Before I even got in the kingsized bed wich means there shud probally be more than 2 pillows. Very disapointing. I had neck pain when I woke up. If your room is in the front your view will be another hotel that is currently being built. So there is some noise coming from that on top of the ac unit in the room thats LOUD. The floor in the room was dirty had specks of paper and fabric items that cud have been sweept up easily. For the price It was fine for one night but it definetly left alot to be desired. This hotel needs some maintanence and some more ❤ from the owners. Or it will fall apart soon.
