Hotel Indigo Brooklyn, an IHG Hotel in Brooklyn

Brooklyn, Kings County, New York, US
Arrived with a reservation from 2 months earlier and very unceremoniously told by security we could not check in and go to another hotel (not even an IHG one!) across the street. Could not believe it, have never had anything like that happen in extensive traveling for over 30 years. Later told the hotel was closed, or partially closed, due to some construction issues. Very dissatisfied and dissapointed with this experience.
Our room had a broken window so lots of cold air was coming in. The heater was broken too, so our room was ice cold. They did not have another two bed room. Engineer gone for the day. The front desk lent us a space heater. It didnt help because of the broken window. They had no duck tape to at least seal it up. I had to go to Target to buy my own duck tape and fix the window myself, which helped a little bit. On top of it all, the restroom was not the cleanest, and the phone didnt work to call the front desk. Im going to be expecting a refund since I bought my own tape and sealed the window. I wasted a day of my vacation, trying to solve this issue. I couldve at least gotten two single bed rooms, but the guy at the front desk didnt know how to accommodate me. The staff was nice, and it looked like they were trying to solve the issue. I felt bad for them because its not their fault.
This facility needs a complete renovation. Items in the room do not work or they are older. Cheap mattress and 2 cheap pillows, no extra pillows in the facility. Luggage rack broken, phone broken, dirty dingy walls. This facility is not up to Indigo standards since my last visit. On my next trip, I will go back to staying at other brand hotels. The staff were excellent, friendly, and amazing.
When we came in the line was very long. And moved slow. I realized that it was because people kept coming back down from their rooms requesting new rooms because the ones they were in were inadequate. When we got to our room, the HVAC did not work. We told the front desk and they said someone would come fix it but no one ever came and it was FREEZING. The sheets were dirty, the toiletries were used before we got there, there were used towels in the bathroom and when we acquired about hand soap/body soap, they said that they had none and that we have to use the shampoo!! The tv didn’t work. The only things that worked was the lights (barely) and running water. The water was lukewarm, never got hot. We heard employees complaining. It was a mess
One of the dirtiest hotels I’ve ever stayed at. My husband and I brought the kids to NY and stayed here back some years ago. So I felt safe booking it this time around. I was in disbelief to see how much it had changed. The first room she gave me wasn’t even house kept yet. So she had to give me another one. The second room. Had random hair on the floor. They clearly hadn’t swept. The fridge had dust and dirt around the top so clearly they didn’t wipe down anything… which is kind of gross considering ya know… COVID! some staff didn’t have in mask. The luggage holder in my room was broken and the room itself was soooooo tiny. Barely any space around the bed. NOT fit for two people for sure. The carpet in the hallway was dirty. I checked out an hour later. Couldn’t do 5 days in that place. Thankfully hotels dot com refunded me my money and I booked at the Sheraton across the street… that requires a whole different review because I saw a roach in my room over there but I digress.Maybe it’s because of the pandemic and places are finding it difficult to keep staff on hand. But the quality of hotel service is dwindling and I might just stick to Airbnb moving forward.
We had some issues checking on and as did others. In fact the lady at the front desk literally quit her job and walked off two people before me. First time Ive ever seen that happen. The rooms were small which are expected but were fine. The only issue that we had regarding the room was the shower had some leak in the wall where it leaked through the closet and into the main room by the bed.
We booked this and canceled when we got there. The hotel is in disrepair and very dirty. Definitely not as represented online. The lobby bathrooms were dirty and had no soap. Apparently its a 15 floor hotel and we over heard that the only had one person working house keeping. I was charged to cancel.
We are Ida victims and they placed us in this hotel until we can find permanent housing. Everything in the hotel is closed and there is no heat in here. We are freezing to death. Talk to the front desk all they say is fixing the issue now. We going on day three being cold. They didn’t provide us with that blankets to keep warm no heater until they fix the issue nothing. Whom can I complain to we have elders in here also that are cold. I appreciate the help from the Red Cross but I don’t think they know we are cold.
Run dont walk away from this place! It was closed down during the pandemic and the city opened as a homeless shelter. The place is an absolute dump! The restaurants not open, the workout centers not open and the rooms have broken showers, TVS, refrigerator was missing the heat would not turn off. It was 79 degrees in the room but couldnt turn on A/C. Then on checkout they told there was charge since I used my free Anniversary night thru my IHG credit card but yet was charged $100!! Still trying to get that resolved. I dont blame the front office staff they can only work work with what they have. They moved me out of that room and at least the next room wasnt 78°. The 1st room I literally had to hold the shower head in my hand to take a shower, see the picture.
Thurs night -Arrive late around 11pm.Checkin issues, despite there being a note that I had a late flight.Get to room.Inoperable thermostat.Non working wifi.Broken furniture.Multiple inoperable lamps and lights.Attempted to call front desk. No answer. Exhausted, I simply pass out.***Friday morning-Call again, no answer.Walk downstairs to notify front desk of issues.Moved to a different room of equal valueIt was occupied. Someones things were there. Privacy violation. Notify front desk.It was explained that somehow, certain guests werent on record as being checked in. Including me and this guest whose room I was given a key to. Apparently this also causes wifi issues.***Friday afternoon - Offered a complimentary upgrade as a concession for the inconveniences. Moved to new room. Hotel staffer said the room was ready, checked it myself they said. This one was not occupied, but housekeeping was still in there. Notify front desk room not ready.Had to wait a couple more hours before transitioning to my now third room.**Saturday morning - I was notified of multiple suspicious charges by credit card company. All were from Hotel Indigo. The restaurant is shut down, there is no room service, and the advertised fitness center is being used as storage. Average rates range $125-$260/nt. My total reservation for four nights is supposed to be $711. On my card, after just two nights, there were four charges of roughly $117, $693, $410, and $500. Whatever for?Now contacting guest relations at IHG. I am having quite a rough time here.***Saturday afternoonRyan (hotel supervisor) promises to refund all money charged. He checks me out of my room and says he will send an email showing the comps. I go to have a meal and plan to return for my things and a printout of folio. Now awaiting the email.
I booked my reservation two months ahead of my first trip since COVID and was so excited to visit family and see some sights in NYC. IHG, the hotel group that runs many hotels including my favorite Kimpton Hotels, along with Indigo hotels emailed me with a confirmation two days before my arrival. Imagine our surprise when My husband and I arrived at 11:00 pm to see trash strewn around the front and numerous homeless men wandering around the entrance! One of the men told us that the building was no longer a hotel, but it had been converted into a shelter by the city. It looked nothing like the pictures that were posted online when I made my reservation! Fortunately, we had a great Uber driver who quickly got us out of the neighborhood in question and found a clean Hotel for us to stay in a safer area. The entire experience was shocking and frightening to say the least. I tried numerous times to call and email the hotel and IGH group, but I received no answers.
Checked in and the room we received 702 was dirty hair in bed and on floor , bathroom door had water damaged, mirror on bathroom door dirty, no wash clothes, this is horrible and have the nerve to charge people almost 200 a night this hotel is ran down need a make over those pictures is a lie you see on line. The second room almost the same thing and it’s my husband birthday and we stepped in to this I need a full refund
Website is a complete bait-and-switch. (See photos below.) None of the amenities listed on website are functioning: “fitness center”, brewpub, terrace, room service, meeting room… All of them are permanently closed, with no mention of this on the Indigo or IHG websites. Check-in at the postage-stamp, dirty, cold entry took 45 minutes on a Saturday (I arrived at 4 PM.) because of the line snaking into the street, with only one desk clerk. Angry customers kept returning to the beleaguered clerk to report that their rooms still weren’t cleaned nearly 2 hours after the 3:00 check-in time. My penthouse suite (the top dollar room in the hotel) was dingy, with mismatched furniture, and I waited in the room as the cleaner finished turning it down until 5 PM. Carpets in the halls are dirty. I’ve stayed at Indigos in Edinburgh, London, Manhattan, LA and Sydney, all of which have been lovely. This place is appalling, with astonishingly poor management, and it seriously tarnishes the brand.
This is as my first time staying at this Hotel. It was nice. The staff was great and the room was cute and cozy. The view outside was not great at all so just keep the curtains closed. The room was nice and clean but what I would have loved was a nice cozy blanket in the room. I had to turn the heat up just to sleep comfortably. I got dressed and went out and the hotel was right in the middle of shopping and good places to eat. I really liked that because I didn’t have to pay to get around you could just walk. They also have a restaurant and bar downstairs if you don’t want to leave. Oh the parking is very expensive.
Walking up to the hotel you would be amazed to see the inside, compared to the outside. The outside, through no fault of the hotel, looks very cramped with construction stuff and my first thought was were staying here?! The front desk staff were very friendly and checked me in no problem. Went to our room on the 10th floor and noticed how clean everything was on the way. The room was very clean and crisp. Though small, the room was not cramped. The bathroom was clean and the shower was amazing, though small. Overall it was a good experience.
Positive: The location. Negative: The hotel seems new but is in disrepair. The walls are thin, the staff was unresponsive, and it took a long time to get an elevator. The AC unit was so loud it could not be used while trying to sleep. One ice machine for the entire building.
I was feeling the cold until find the warm welcoming of the front des staff... great fun welcoming people. They were easy, my room was ready in minutes even I showed up with no reservation. I found it through google maps. I had a complimentary drink at the bar, more to add the good vibes, great bar restaurant...Finally my room, all new...all sun in a 30 degrees, I took a needed shower, great quality products. I went in the most comfortable bed to relax with the view of the water and get the sun, I was back to life, I felt like I was laying out at the beach in Florida where I live. I had free on demand so I was watching Real housewives of NYC. Every activity I did was walking distance. Safe neighborhood. I cant wait to come back I told everyone about my great experience.
I often work in Manhattan but the hotels there can sometimes be too pricey. I decided to try this place in Brooklyn and was very pleasantly surprised. The price was great I think perhaps because construction was going on in front of the hotel but that didnt bother me. Great location with easy access to Manhattan from two nearby train lines. Great food and drink choices nearby (think Brooklyn hipster). The room was very small but hey you expect that in NYC. It was clean and tidy so the room being small was fine with me as a business traveler. The only downside of the room was that the toilet seat seemed to be designed for someone the size of a 12 year old girl but hey you can make it work. I am neutral on the staff. They were helpful as required but I didnt really interact with them enough to give any other type of review one way or the other. I would definitely recommend the hotel and will be heading back again soon.
I love the hotel very clean, comfortable. The room was very tiny but I like the decorations. Check in was fast. Perfect location to conduct my business to travel from and to the job conferences. The only issue was I forgot my job keys in the room I contact the hotel immediate and reported they said they will ask housekeeping and call me back. They never did. So I call again and they said there wasnt any report or message about it. But besides that incident I love the hotel and I will recommend it and I will visit again.
The rooms in this hotel are the tiniest I’ve ever stayed in. I was able to have my hand on the window sill and foot touching the wall on the other side of the bed. There was only 12 inches on each side of the bed to move around. The “desk” was a 14” hallway table that could barely hold a laptop. That hallway where the desk is, is barely 30” wide. There’s a building going up next door and work starts promptly at 7am. So even though I wanted to sleep in, that wasn’t going to happen. Want to wake up to natural sunlight? Can’t do that either because that building has its flood lights on 24/7, dozens on each level so there’s no reprieve from it. Staff never warned me or offered ear plugs to sleep. Only decent part about this room was it was clean, but that’s probably only because you can’t fit anything besides your luggage through the door so you can’t leave anything behind. Being a spire member I would think that I’d be getting a preferred placement room but that definitely isn’t the case here. I should have known that the staff didn’t care when I asked about parking options, they had no info on garages. So if you have to stay, make sure you get a room in the front of the hotel(hopefully there you won’t hear the hammers, saws, and banging behind you) or just wait another 4 years before that buildings done.
My initial check in was such a disaster. There was supposed Valet Parking but the attendant was not there as I arrived. I made the front desk attendant and she seemed just as clueless of the attendants whereabouts as I was. As pictured online, the rooms are in fact very small. The bathroom was not thoroughly cleaned, there were marks on the wall and you could clearly see the build up dirt in the shower creases. The chair in the room had white residue on the back of it that looked like no one attempted to clean it. Also, the hotel is supposed to be a non smoking facility but my room smelled like smoke. When I made the front desk attendant aware she said there were no more rooms available so to open the window and let it air out. But, the window had a lock at the top that no one without a ladder can reach. So she called someone to come and open the window for me. The windows were not screened in so of course flies/bugs flew in throughout the night. On the plus side, the bed was really comfortable so I somewhat got a good night sleep. The location is perfect as well; in the same street as multiple retail stores. Definitely wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone for the price they want.
If youre expecting anything above bare minimum then you should lower expectations. Hospitality and the additional touch that one would expect at any reputable hotel is just not present at this location. It gets the job done as the room and bathroom were clean and relatively comfortable, but if you value your sleep, I suggest going elsewhere. The room is very small (to be expected in NYC), but there are bright lights at the construction site next door and construction starts extremely early in the morning. There were loud noises throughout the night that woke me up (and I consider myself a heavy sleeper.) New York is a noisy city, but the outside noise at this hotel carries into the room worst than any other location Ive experienced. Based on the website one would think this is a new, modern, trendy boutique hotel but they miss the mark in my opinion. Other issues I encountered was the unpleasant, mildewy odor in the hall leading to my room. The room itself just doesnt have that fresh, hotel smell. I didnt even bother complaining because it really doesnt seem like the type of issue the hotel staff can fix, this is clearly a management issue. I would not recommend this location unless the price is extremely discounted (or free).
The hotel was modern and clean. Overall nice. I had some issues checking in because they couldn’t accommodate me for a bigger room due to overbooking. So one of us had to sleep on the floor the first night. The floor isn’t carpeted so it was not comfortable. The room they did have wasn’t big enough to have a roll in bed either. The staff was real nice and apologized for the inconvenience. They did bring us extra pillows and comforters. They also moved us to another room as soon as they could the next day. Overall it was a a good hotel, perfect location next to the subway that would take you into Manhattan. There does need to be a more clear communication method between the online booking and the census of the hotel. I would definitely recommend it in regards to comfort, cleanliness and even the patience/friendliness of the staff.
Any kind of review is subjective. My stay overall was nice. The room I stayed in was big enough for one person. The front desk held my luggage until check in. I ate a couple of times at the hotels bar/restaurant and it was very good! I had a keurig in the room and had access to a few kcups. The front desk would only give you a couple at a time. I drink like more than that because theyre small. If youre in Brooklyn check it out.
We have stayed at the Indigo at least 25 times. We come to Brooklyn to be with our family, and when the Indigo price is good, we reserve a room. We like it because, though the rooms are small, they are comfortable. The bathroom is well designed, and the shower is so good, that I hated to get out. The beds are comfortable, and I appreciate that there is not an overly heavy comforter that I want to kick off. Over the years Duffield Street has become very busy, and it will be interesting to see what it will look like when all the building is finally completed.
I was initially booked at a nearby rival property but due to their incompetence regarding my reservation I sat in their lobby and booked the hotel indigo and I was extremely glad I did. The front desk agent was superb and a class above what I had experienced at the nearby property. The room was an adequate size but the view was excellent and the bed was the most comfortable bed Ive slept in at a hotel. The property was very conveniently located and despite major construction work nearby it was almost silent in my room. I have already recommended this hotel to friends and they have made a reservation for 4 nights stay in the coming weeks.
There is construction all around this hotel. It was late in the evening and started eary on saturday morning. There was some unexplainable noise all night long that kept me awake. Waited too look to make reservations and had to choose this one. Reviews were good. It cost more money than my usuall hotel. We arrived right at 3pm but had to wait with other guest. It was dark in the hotel and very small. Finally got our room 30-45 minutes later. Room was adequate but again tiny hallways. Not good if you are clostephobic at all. Bathroom was a good size but there was no light in the shower. Couldnt see a thing. There was no handsoap. Other toiletries but no handsoap. We could hear other guest in their rooms all evening including of coarse a screaming baby.
Overall a good stay. Welcome amenity drinks were appreciated. Bed was VERY comfortable and the room was clean. We had the king leisure suite and for NY standards the room was large! Plenty of space to unwind. TV has a good selection of channels. Road noise not bad. Excellent location: near many trains and shops, plus late night food. Many odd issues with the room: loose bathroom door handle, luggage rack wedged in the corner very far and hard to get out, toilet seat misaligned, wear and tear scrapes on curtains and trim. Shower movable head sleeving was torn. Hotel seems relatively modern but needs to maintain the property better if they want it to stay up to snuff.Id stay here again but I wish theyd care for the rooms better.
Staff was great and more than helpful. this is only good if you are there for a night and just need a place to sleep. very tight room, no fridge and the wifi would not turn on. very tight work desk, small storage space for jackets. dont know whats the point of a ironing board when theres no space to iron clothes. bathroom was even tighter, felt like I would have no room to even rotate my body in the shower. lounge was nice and the gym was subpar. overall, it is good for a one night stay or just a room you need to sleep in and nothing more.
Hotel indigos most redeeming quality is that it sits in a semi-convenient location. The room we were put in was so tiny, there was about 1.5 feet walking space around the entire bed. During the whole night, the elevator makes a screeching sound every time it moves. The sound proofing isnt as great as some of the other hotels, so the construction of the neighboring buildings is loud and clear. We also didnt appreciate that they put a $100 hold on the card for incidentals on top of the cost of the hotel. I wouldnt go out of my way to book this hotel again.
Property is relatively new and has very nice decor.I really liked its the location, minutes away from the Brooklyn Bridge.Overall, the rooms were clean and spacious but needed a little TLC and deep cleaning. The walls were marked up and had a few holes in them. It seems that the bathrooms were clean enough but needed a little bit more elbow grease to get the grout and tiles clean, as the grout was showing signs of mould and its age.Service and staff were very good and were always willing to help.I think its time for a good deep clean!!!!
This hotel has some major issues with cleanliness and staffing. All employees are new and there was only one supervisor who was majorly overworked and had to process all the requests from guests.I expressed my allergies to pet hair and was told my room was clean and that I would not have an issue. The first night I had major reaction to the pet hair in my bed which was not clean at all and ruined my entire plans the next day. I spent the majority of the day in room I was allergic to and fighting with housekeeping on how to properly clean a room! It was very upsetting and exhausting to say the least. I had to take a lot of allergy medicine just to function by the end of the night. No one seemed to care besides the supervisor. There was no manager on staff at this hotel to even escalate the issues to. My room also did not have the proper equipment. The windows did not close all the way and one window did not have a curtain. I was told that the hotel did not even have a curtain for my window! They never even tried to bring a replacement curtain during my stay which resulted in the sun waking me up before my intended time every morning! This was the worst experience Ive ever had at a hotel and I will never stay there again! I was promised 15,000 extra points because of the issues which I have not received and Im also waiting to receive a promised financial credit for my first nights stay as well. Please process this asap!
We stayed here while visiting friends over the weekend in Brooklyn. Its easy to access the subway and walkable to the Brooklyn Heights promenade and bridge. I read reviews about the rooms being too small, but was pleasantly surprised with the amount of space, especially compared to other places Ive stayed in around the city. We did have a view of construction, but it wasnt noisy since they werent working on the weekend. The room felt updated and nice. There were some scuff marks on the floor/base of the walls, and I think some coffee pods fell behind the desk, so that area didnt get cleaned, but generally clean bedroom/bathroom. We didnt get a chance to use any of the amenities, but the restaurant seemed nice. I would recommend if youre staying in the area for a night or two.
The staff is wonderful and will take care of anything that you need. The rooms are pretty large, and the accessible rooms work really well for tall people. The beds arent the best Ive ever slept in - They arent uncomfortable and I felt rested, but a little stiff. The restaurant and bar attached to the hotel is great. The staff is really fun and the food is really good - Id recommend the fajitas and the tequila cucumber cocktail. Thursday is salsa night, and they have a DJ on Friday nights who was really good screening old school hip-hop, R
This hotel is in a great location, just a short block away from the subway, and with easy access to Brooklyn staples like Juniors! The hotel itself is small, but its New York, so of course it is - but it is worth the price. The front desk staff was very nice, but there was some confusion now and then, so be prepared for that. All in all, I was pleased with the place, and will stay there again when Im in the Brooklyn area.
This hotel is tired. The pictures online must have been taken a long time ago. The only good thing is the location in Brooklyn next to the subway. I would not recommend or go back. The room was not clean and the furniture was at lease 40 years old. And we got an upgrade to a king suite. Mattress was new and comfortable. Stephanie at the front desk was great. Only stay here if it is your only option and it is free.
Its not great. Room was clean but the beds were hard and construction started outside the window at 6am. The staff was amazing though! The woman behind the desk was smiling, helpful, multi tasking (very well) and efficient. Having said all that, it just doesnt feel worth the pricetag. You can stay in Manhattan for the same price at nicer places.
The hotel was very nice and the staff was amazing. But upon arriving there was an extra fee that no other hotel has ever charged me in New York and I get rooms every week. The hotel staff did fix it upon me bringing it to their attention, as I was not ordering any room service I was just staying one night and not using their facilities, the room was very tiny but it was in very good condition and very clean. It was a very quiet room and enjoyable. I had a good check-in and check-out experience also Im glad they have great customer service at this hotel.
I was traveling for work and booked at the Indigo. There is a lot of construction on the block and so it took a little looking at first to find the entrance. The check in was great and I liked that to access the guest floors you had to use your room key card. The room is cozy but efficient. Things were clean and the bed was comfy. I do think there is room for improvement in the deep cleaning - the underbed drawers were dusty and I found some trash from a previous guest under the travel books in the bedside table. The staff was very courteous, helping us arrange car service daily and making the check in and out easy. It was a great room if you dont plan on being there much. If you are looking to hang out in the room and relax you may want more space. Overall it was a great stay.
The reception staff were all brilliant and very helpful. The hotel looked nothing like its picture, in fact we nearly passed it by! The rooms a nowhere near the size they look in the pictures, bathroom was tiny! But the bed was very comfortable! There were a few long black hairs in the bed and on the toilet, none where mine! But it was very clean so that must have been the cleaners, maybe she should tie her hair back in future?! Lots in construction going on in the area so a bit noisy, but a great spot for shopping.
Upon check-in, the staff quickly found my reservation, but i was told the hotel was sold out and there were no rooms left. After an hour of waiting, and overhearing 3 different parties ask for and receive new rooms, the staff finally found a room for me. How come it took so long to find my room in a “sold out” hotel, yet these other 3 guests could switch rooms? I also had to ask several times for more hangers and housekeeping left trash bags outside my room for the entire duration of my stay. Oh and I was excited to see that the alarm clock had usb plug ins only the find out that they had been removed - it was an empty usb-shaped hole.
When we arrived both elevators were out. We had to climb five flights of stairs to get to our room. Eventually one elevator returned to service but was exceptionally slow. The property had construction outside so that probably explains the low room cost. The room was not up to par compared to other Hotel Indigo locations. However, the beds were comfortable and the roof top terrace was nice. The property was in a good location for our visit.
I liked the style of the Brooklyn Indigo Hotel. Rooms in NYC are always small but these rooms used the space very efficiently. The bed was very comfortable and I appreciated the extra pillows. The A/C stopped working one afternoon and the problem was quickly resolved. The front desk was always friendly and very helpful. The area was nice and I enjoyed walking around and exploring the area. It felt very safe but I did like the extra security of having to use your cardkey for the room to go up in the elevator. The view from the rooftop was great. I worked up there every workday I was at the hotel and enjoyed the view.I loved that the floors were not carpet. Such a great idea for a hotel!
Great hospitality, we arrived at 3 AM just beating out a major snow and ice storm after driving 9 hours. The welcome was warm, friendly and efficient. We had an issue with the valet parking service, but the hotel staff made it easy so we could go to our rooms and finally get some sleep. Comfortable clean room with a very great bed, spotless linens, and a super clean bathroom. We woke up to the storm raging in the morning and had a great breakfast in the bar/lounge where the service one more time was exceptional. Over all we could not have been more satisfied with our stay
The room I was in was really tiny, about 180-200 sq. feet. Certainly the smallest hotel room I have ever booked. The queen size bed made for little space to walk around in the room. The only chair was a small padded desk chair. Every thing was small , the desk, bedside table. The closet was truncated at half size making it hard to hang a full coat. At best, this is a room for one hotel guest. Two people would find it limiting and uncomfortable. The room was clean and the king size bed was comfortable. The bathroom was small but average. I liked the high ceilings,There is construction of another high rise building next door to the hotel. Do not expect to sleep late beyond 8am. because you will wake up to heavy construction noise. The room has blackout curtains, but the noise makes a late sleep impossible. There is a restaurant/bar next door to the hotel, but, otherwise, there are few amenities in the hotel for a guest. There is a spartan feel to this hotel, not even free coffee at the front desk, do not expect much.Do not ask the hotel desk for anything they will probably say no. I asked for late checkout, and was told all they could do was 1 hour. I am an IHG platinum elite member. I asked for a complimentary room upgrade, which is one of the benefits of platinum elite status. I was told flatly NO, although I noticed that upgrade rooms were still available rooms on the hotel website. Over the last two years I have repeatedly encountered resistance to room upgrades at other IHG properties, although IHG continue to list room upgrades as a benefit for platinum elite members. There are other IHG properties In the area, next time I will stay at one of them. I do not think I can stay here again.
The staff are knowledgeable and friendly. The hotel is very modern and has a beautiful decor. I chose this hotel primarily because it was affordable had received many positive reviews previously and was in a great location. The value and pricing of this hotel is an incredible steal. The many busses and metro stops lets you go anywhere in the city very quickly. The only negative thing about the room I had was that the room was just a tad small so the bed took up quite a bit of space so it was harder to move around. A mini-refrigerator wouldve been nice. But these points really are quite small relative to the many great things offered by the hotel. Definitely recommend.
This beautiful hotel is located near subway, shopping, and restaurants. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Having them arrange for transportation to the train station when we checked out was very helpful. The room was clean and comfortable and being connected to the Brooklyn Brewhouse is an added benefit. We ate there both nights and the service was good and the food was wonderful. Lots of beer choices too.
We booked a room online which has 2 queen beds. When we checked in at 11 p.m., we were asked if we would accept a room with one queen bed for same price in case a family checked in and needed 2 beds. We wanted to be accommodating, although it seemed late for families to check in and we were checking out the next morning. We said sure.Room we were assigned was claustrophobic. Very small and hard to get around in. It was depressing. Shower had what looked like little piece of bandaid with hair attached to it in it.We decided to stay in Brooklyn another night, but moved to another hotel which we liked infinitely better. This hotel is fine if you dont want to spend much time in your room. Or if you get a larger room. Woman at checkout didnt look up from her computer when I got to front desk, so I just dropped the room key off. Had a pleasant conversation with a member of cleaning crew on elevator.
Great value. Good location, convenient to multiple subway lines, lots of shopping in area. Not the best area in Brooklyn but the street of the hotel feels safe (loved the convenience during the day, but did not walk around much late at night, mostly took an Uber late at night). Staff was very friendly and accommodating when we had an issue with our room. One thing to note, there was construction going on during the week, not too bad, but we were not aware when we booked our room.
My wife and I were visiting our son in Brooklyn and decided to stay at the property based on previous experience at other Indigo properties. Based on the high nightly rooms prices we decided to use IHG Reward points. Being a Gold Elite member I expected if nothing else for that to be acknowledged and perhaps even an upgraded room.Sadly, I received neither. The property is obviously under construction/remodel as the room we were provided had an outdoor space that was not finished and had trash present, the door to that area did not have a proper handle, and had the wind whistling through all night. The room was so small there was not even a proper closet to hang our clothes due to a lower shelf with the safe. There was not even a luggage stand but that would not have made a difference since there was physically not enough room to put it up. Right above the bed there was some kind of brown substance on the ceiling. Needless to say we will never return to this property and am very hesitant to try new Hotel Indigo properties. At minimum I expect to have my reward points refunded.
The mid-block hotel is small, no lobby save for a bench and one startlingly tall chair. Expensive valet parking. Subway is 1/2 block away, dont drive unless you must. Staff welcoming and efficient. As a Platinum customer my wife and I were given an upgrade for our 1-night stay, much appreciated! Our top-floor room was clean with a full modern bathroom, comfortable bed. All-in-all a good stay. This feedback has to do with the small details that can make a good stay great.Heres what we noticed: No TV in the sleeping alcove (one could be attached to the wall in the corner, on a bracket, hospital-style) 1 robe in closet, not two No pen/paper anywhere in room No microwave in the efficiency kitchen area Keurig machine with coffee cups, but no tea cups. Tea bags, but no way to make hot water (see #4) Only one regular + one decaf coffee serving. Bath had complimentary shampoo & conditioner, no mouthwash or lotion. This hotel was a good value for price paid, even w/o the upgrade, and I will return. I hope with constructive feedback, management & housekeeping can raise their game.
We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Indigo Brooklyn during our 4th of July stay. My husband and I celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary this past 4th of July and decided to visit New York for the fireworks. We chose Hotel Indigo for sentimental purposes because we stayed at Hotel Indigo Nashville the night we got married. The checkin process was super easy. The manager checking us in was very friendly and allowed us to check in earlier than the standard check in time. We had mentioned it was our anniversary during checkin and a little later she personally delivered a bottle of champagne, flutes, and a card for our anniversary. I thought that was extremely sweet and thoughtful of her and it really made us feel special. We also asked about a refrigerator and she had one brought to our room. The room was nicely decorated and the bathroom was big and updated. It was a small room but that is to be expected for New York and it was plenty big enough for us. There is a rooftop access to a sitting area which was really nice to have. The only negative was that there wasnt an ice machine on our floor but it wasnt that big of an issue. It is literally the only criticism I have.We would return and I would recommend this hotel.
I really had a great time at this hotel. Its currently undergoing construction in the front, but theres nothing you can do about it.It was reasonably priced compared to others in the area and I needed to be close to the Barclay center. The staff was absolutely lovely and helpful in every capacity. The room was very clean and yeah it was a little cramped, but youre not in the room that much. The restaurant downstairs is pretty awesome, particularly at night. The one drawback is theres no fresh coffee in the hotel, but across the street at least there is a Starbucks. Its close to everything also. I would stay here again!
I enjoyed our stay at the Indigo. The staff was very accommodating and patient, considering there was a large group of us there for a wedding a few blocks away, with a lot of coming and going. My room, which was a bit small compared to some chain hotels, was nonetheless quite adequate. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and, apart from being awakened during the night by street noise, the room itself was very quiet - no sounds from the adjoining rooms or elevators. The bathroom was nicely appointed as well, with a roomy shower and decent water pressure. The towels could have been softer but they did the job.Our breakfast in the hotel was a very good value, especially by NY standards. The food was plentiful, the service excellent, and just a couple of dollars more than my local deli in Ft. Lauderdale. Its also in a good location, a short walk to pretty much anything youd need. I would stay here again and would recommend it to anyone who would be traveling to Brooklyn.
We chose this hotel because of their fair rates and convenient location in downtown Brooklyn. The room was okay and had the basic amenities. The bed was so-so, the sink was clogged for the duration of our stay, and one of the windows opened to a plywood wall. Very sloppy work. The check-in staff initially assigned us a queen room, when our booking clearly indicated a king room. She then proceeded to lecture us for booking through a third party site, which she said is not a guarantee well get the room we booked. Its been weeks since we checked out and the $100 they held against my credit card for incidentals still shows as pending in my statement, which they promised at checkout would immediately go away. I would definitely contest it if it goes through. So overall, this was a miss and I dont think well stay here again or recommend it to anyone.
Had to find a place to stay for the night because of an issue with our apartment and it was late, so most of the local hotels were booked.Managed to get a room at Hotel Indigo, and were pulling up in a cab when we received a voicemail notifying us that the hotel had sold out and they would not be able to accommodate us. The hotel we were greeted with was stuck in a past decade, with clearly no intention of basic maintenance or quality of life upgrades aside from having WiFi and cable television. The hallway carpets were clean yet peppered with large bleach stains, presumably from past guests who perhaps over-enjoyed their New York experience. The room itself was overlooking an actual construction site, which was a stones throw distance from our window, and thoroughly lit throughout the night; though thankfully the curtains were able to keep most of the light out. We had to be up early, though that wouldnt have mattered as the construction work started at an appropriate hour, and we were welcomed into the day by the noise of industry, and the whir of the elevator delivering workers to the site. Though unsure why, there were a number of police officers grazing through the lobby when we arrived, and there were a few odd characters whom we encountered during our stay; well never forget you barefoot swimsuit man! Safe to say, we are very happy we live locally, and seldom need to rely on local hotels to accommodate us. While I can see this as being suitable for those visiting and spending most of their time out exploring the city, this was an experience that we wont soon forget; and for all the wrong reasons.
RIDICULOUS! We had booked a night and when we got there, they said they were full and they had 11 more people after us that were going to have the same issue. In their website, they STILL had the audacity to have 1 room available...on purpose? Something to think about!
Good points:-excellent shower-good coffee in room-friendly staff-good bar and restaurant downstairs-good location, 2 mins from 3 subway sations and 25 mins to downtown (Times square)-comfy bed.Not so good:-rooms are tiny. No room to relax in room or properly store luggage. Fine if you plan to be out all day.-air conditioning too noisy to leave on overnight so need to open window and its quite noisey.-as a spire elite member, didnt get offered a welcome ammenity or upgrade.-expensive for what you get, but so is everywhere in New York.
I spent a week there for business. The staff was accommodating, pleasant, helpful and attentive from the desk clerk to the cleaning people, to security. There wasnt an individual that was less stellar than another. No doubt, I would stay there again. The first night my room was European small. I was moved the next day and pleased with the change. The bed was comfortable, pillows comfy, and nice extra blankets. Much work was going on in the area (new buildings) but not once noticable noise. It was the quietest hotel where I have stayed. I cant say enough good things. It was close to most subway lines, as well. Thanks for helping me to love Brooklyn!
The overall experience was pretty good. However, there was a lot of construction going on in the area (not the hotels fault) and it was really noisy. I could hear people leaving the club across the street late at night and it seemed like people were throwing trash loudly into the trash can outside in the street all night long. My friend and I were on the 14th floor by the way, ha!Also, the maid service came at odd hours (during the late afternoon while we were in the room). I had to request a change of towels on one of the days because the maid service did not come in on one of the days.If you would like a nice, quiet place to stay then I would choose somewhere else. Although Im not sure what the usual noise level is like for hotels in New York City. I wore headphones and listened to music to fall asleep. The hotel was really nicely laid out and decorated. It was very modern and hip.Overall it is a good value. Affordable and pretty close to a lot of subway lines. Also, free WIFI!
The room was fairly small which is expected in NYC, the beds were comfy and the staff was kind. We needed 4 towels for the four people in our room, we only had three and when asked for another towel it took over 30 mins to get one, the pillows were so flat it felt like I didn’t have one and almost the whole time one of the elevators were down which made time to room and back slow. I loved the shower and counter space.
Spent two nights here last week. The staff was friendly. The rooms are small and the beds take up most of the rooms. The dated bulky bed frame with sharp corners left us with bruises on our shins from constantly bumping into them due to lack of space. The only place to put the luggage is on the small desktop. The beds oddly did not have a flat sheet under the blankets but on top of the blankets. We had to request a flat sheet. The AC worked great. Construction outside/next door started at 6 am. Our biggest issue, was the massive amount of black mold on the bathroom ceiling. Both of my children were wheezing and had severe headaches. We attempted to speak to a manager, however no manager was on duty. We were promised to be contacted, however that has not happened yet!
This hotel does not reflect what Ive come to expect from Hotel Indigo. The hotel appears old and dated. The walls, floors, beds and furniture are not in great shape and gave the hotel an old and tired feel. My room had peeling wallpaper, worn furniture and even a screw (a literal screw) as the door lock for the bathroom. The lobby is way too small and uncomfortable. The lobby is not appealing. The front desk is too small. The halls are too narrow and the rooms are tiny. A few positive notes - the beds were comfortable, the air/heating worked well and the staff was somewhat friendly - but not overly. The location was not great. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel and I will not stay here in the future. As a matter of fact, this hotel makes me think twice about staying at other Hotel Indigos.
Hotel is in a very good location (right by Metrotech, two subway stations and some shopping areas in Brooklyn). Overall quality of the rooms/bathroom is very good, with natural lighting, everything was clean, and not cramped for a NYC hotel. The hotel is right by the Brooklyn Brewhouse (you can actually access it through the lobby) which is great for drinks or food (I think they deserve a separate review).Staff was amazing - I had multiple reservations, both personal and business and everything was handled fine.
Hotel is located in a very nice neighborhood in Brooklyn with many stores shops and restaurants nearby. The hotel was very clean and the staff was very courteous and helpful. Room was a good size with room to spread out unlike many city hotels. Attached restaurant was also pretty nice. Would definitely come back again.
Hotel is reasonably priced for its location in downtown Brooklyn. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The staff is attentive if sometimes a tiny bit slow at the front desk. I only had one issue while there. There is construction going on with the building next door which was happening right outside of my 8th floor window. Having a heads up about the construction happening right outside my window that starts at 7am would have been good to know. I would have requested a higher room on the opposite side to try and limit the sound.
I have to say this property was a great surprise. I wasnt expecting much being in Brooklyn but I was blown away by the hospitality and the property. While the room was a bit small, it was average by NYC standards. The bed was comfortable and the room was most certainly clean. It was super quite, even from typical city noises I had expected. I would absolutely recommend staying here if you need to stay in Brooklyn.More than anything, I commend the spectacular staff. I had a credit card issue at check in and the staff was quick to resolve with kindness and patience. Kadeem at the front desk greeted me warmly each time I walked through the doors. The staff I ran into in the halls were all warm and welcoming. Upon check out, I encountered Johnathan who was such a delight at 5:30am. This staff makes this hotel one that cannot be missed!
Rooms are petite but have most of the standard features. Room has a small open alcove for hanging clothes. The only other storage is the drawers in the bed base. Room seemed pretty clean. However, when I arrived the floor was dirty/dusty and wasnt cleaned until the second maid service. Some towels were stained. Bathroom has annoying taps where the cold tap turns on the wrong way. Beware the ice water in the foyer. My water had stuff floating in it. My stay was in June 2017 and the hotel is currently surrounded on three sides by four active building sites.
We were in Brooklyn for a family visit and booked a room at Hotel Indigo upon the recommendation of a friend. I have to say we were a little hesitant after reading some of the reviews, but trusted my friends advice. Im so glad we did.I dont know why the previous reviews were so negative. We were greeted by a very friendly staff, who had our tired 4-year old laughing before we headed for the elevator. I was pleasantly surprised by the crisp, clean decor and ambience of the room. We were on the 14th floor and enjoyed the Brooklyn views from the almost floor-to-ceiling windows. The decor was urban chic. Beds were very comfortable with an assortment of moderate to firm pillows. There were 3 adults in our room and we all commented on the amenities and attention to detail. We woke to a very sunny room and had a great cup of coffee from the Keurig coffee maker.I will highly recommend this hotel to friends and family. Its a perfect, moderately-priced boutique hotel in the heart of Brooklyn.
I like that the hotel has hardwood floors throughout. The staff was very friendly and gave us a fantastic suggestion for restaurants close by. We did have an issue with the shower and someone came up to fix it within 5 minutes of calling. The room was large and quiet. Well definitely be staying here again!
I stayed this hotel December 28th for one night. The room cleanliness is very good and service is awesome. Front desk clerk were so nice, polite, and very kind. They were always smiling and gave us good service. The bed were comfortable, had a lot of pillows( 4 or 5 each bed). But there was only thin comforter set, so that was not enough to keep warm with them... However we could use air conditioner to make room warm, so it was not big problem. Bathroom was also clean, and there ware enough amenity goods. Soap stuff were from AVEDA and they were really good :)We stayed room 908. The view from our room was not so beautiful because of constructions next hotel. And couldnt see anything fun from that room. But I dont know about other room.Location of hotel was very nice. You can go to downtown and subway station by walk. So you can go to manhattan easily by subway. My friends from Japan also loved this place!I highly recomend this hotel and wanna stay here again :)Thank you so much.
We stayed at this hotel for two nights after staying at the Hotel Indigo in the LES for four previous nights. So my opinion of this hotel is a little skewed.Overall, it was a nice hotel. We were lucky and got one of their best rooms on the 18th floor. It was a two room suite. Very spacious with separate living area and wet bar. Our friends got probably one of the smallest rooms in the hotel. There wasnt even a closet for them to put their suitcases. There is a great deal of construction around the hotel, making the entrance a bit unwelcoming at the moment, and its extremely difficult for cars to get to the door. Its not an area where Id likely mosey through since everything is under construction. We stayed here to save some money vs staying in Manhattan. Im glad we only stayed here two nights. It was conveniently located next to the subway and was definitely easily accessible. The staff was friendly. If you dont plan on staying in the room much or doing anything near the hotel, its a good place to stay. If you want to explore, and walk places, Id probably stay somewhere else.
I really enjoyed my time in Brooklyn thanks to the stay at Hotel Indigo. I was able to arrive early and enjoyed the lounge, lunch nearby and free wifi until my room was ready. The front desk attendant booked my in her favorite room in the hotel, which was spacious, easily accessed and quiet.I had nothing but great things to say. The only minute detail which I remember only because all other aspects of my stay were so great, is that there was a hair laying on the hand towel which hung on the rack in the bathroom. I didnt notice until the third and final morning of my stay.Other than that, I would highly recommend this hotel and would return.
While the staff was great, as always, the physical attributes of this hotel are marginal at best. The lobby is quite small. The room was small....only one person could fit in the passageway between the bed and bathroom. Space beside the the bed was too small to store a suitcase. There was no closet, only a space above a small fridge for hanging cloths. No bureau, just two drawers under the bed. The walls were thin, and the noise outside the building was disturbing even though we were on the 16th floor. Bed was uncomfortable.I am a loyal customer of the Holiday Inn group, but I must say that the design and construction quality of this hotel is regrettable.
My friend and I needed a place to crash for the day! Booked the room and went right away. The front desk was very helpful and warm welcoming. The hotel is and Art Deco modern Chic feel. Really enjoyed the hotel for the price it’s def a bang for your buck! Should def check out the fitness center I didn’t I use but the equipment was modern and well kept.
Our experience at the Hotel Indigo was wonderful. The location is perfect for access to everything. The front desk staff was friendly and accommodating. We had a slight problem with the television and it was rectified immediately. The room was clean and well stocked with bathroom items. The bed was extremely comfortable. The room was virtually soundproof from the normal hallway noise that one expects in a hotel. Will stay there again next time were in Brooklyn.
Very cute little hotel! It was incredibly cozy and nice. It is a very nice price compared to other hotels in the area. There is a subway station close by, and it is in walking distance of tons of food, shopping, and attractions. There was a lot of construction going on nearby, but you could barely hear anything from the 10th floor. I really enjoyed my stay, and would definitely go back next time I am in New York!
Staff was GREAT, parking was my only issue. Even with construction to adjacent building the noise was minimal and the room was immaculate. The parking cost more than my entire 3 day stay at the hotel. The restaurant in the lobby had a great happy hour with food specials and the deli on the corner was very convenient with excellent food and really affordable for the times I didnt want to go to a restaurant to eat.
My mother & i had a really good stay at this hotel. first and foremost the front desk staff was without an exception energetic, helpful and friendly. they really made the stay a delight. the room, a single queen bed, was small and compact, but everything very clean and nice. we really appreciated the free coupon for a drink next door, and the front desk agreed willingly to hold my bags for me for 5 hours after my check out on sunday so i could explore the city while they held them safely. overall, a great experience.
While this hotel is fairly new and modern, they could have made the rooms a little bigger and added a service elevator. With only 2 elevators serving the entire hotel, it sometimes took a long time to get one while housekeeping and maintenance were using them for their daily work.I understand in New York City that rooms tend to be on the small side, but a newer hotel should not have this issue. I could barely walk from the door to the bed as the desk /office area was right there. I could not imagine sharing this room with another person.Staff was nice and 2nd floor lounge/business area was very good. It was also cool to have the bar/restaurant attached.Overall, I would not book this hotel again. I saw a hotel a few blocks away that was much more spacious and less expensive while being just as new and modern.
I really wanted to like this hotel. A low price and close to Metrotech Center this seemed like a good deal. I have never stayed in a hotel where I had to have housekeeping change the sheets before I slept in the bed. After noticing what appeared to be a footprint like stain on the one queen bed, I examined the other bed to sleep there and noticed a couple of brownish spots on the comforter. I asked the desk to have the bedding changed and I would be stepping out for a little bit. Came back an hour later...no change. A few minutes later housekeeping did come. The hotel itself has hardly any lobby. There just wasnt a great feel. Slow elevator and just felt a little dated and tired.
First off let me express how grateful I am of you all at Indigo. Initially I was so hesitant about having to live in a hotel away from my family amid the pandemic. Upon meeting the staff, interacting with them daily and having such a nice and spacious room I was happy. Each and every day you all made sacrifices to come and be of service to us and I am so appreciative of this. Every time I walked either into or out of the establishment I was always greeted and anything that i needed the staff ensured that I received it. Thank you all so much for being so accommodating to the employees at NYP-Brooklyn Methodist Hospital I really and truly appreciate you all.
Wow! That was my first impression and it just kept getting better! This is in the top three hotels I have ever stayed at and I travel 7 months out of the year. Parking was a serious pain but thats city life right? Once I got to my room there was a thank you card addressed to me along with a gift bag and cupcake from Juniors waiting on the desk for me. The room was a corner unit with an amazing view! The bathroom was palatial and the beds (two room unit) were fantastic. The sheets were super soft, the pillows perfectly plump. I was highly impressed and will definitely return next time I am in town for business. I also loved the price / points packages available, best Ive ever seen for a hotel of this magnitude.
Comfortable stay, slept like a baby! My husband, 2 adult children and I stayed 2 nights to be near family in Brooklyn and close to Manhattan. Parked our car for a great price (24 hrs) about a block away, left it there until time to go home (very professional attendants.) Walkable and safe! Walked to several restaurants and across the Brooklyn Bridge at night! We returned from Times Square at about 12:30AM both nights and there were lots of people out and about. Close to Subway and easy Taxi service if needed. I kept missing the entrance of the hotel but that could be an age thing, my kids never had a problem getting acclimated! Hotel staff were very helpful! Blowdryer and iron in the room! Great internet service! Wish we would have had more time to stay longer.
The first best thing about the hotel is its location. It is in the heart of downtown Brooklyn, with easy access to the boroughs best nearby shopping and dining. Its easy to find, and most of Manhattan was just a few stops away. The next best thing is the staff, who are eager to please the guests. They made it so easy to check in and out, and to receive friends and deliveries. It was as if I had a professional doorman for a few days.Theres nothing over the top about this hotel, as well. It is designed simply. It has an ageless feel but not a dated feel. It is comfortable without being frilly. It is practical but not uninteresting. Its a terrific value, and a terrific find. I will definitely stay there again.
Ok great location and an ok room rate. When we arrived our room was not quite up to 2 people on business for a week. What did the staff do......absolutely everything to resolve the problem. Fantastic service which was greatly appreciated This is a small hotel without the bells and whistles of the nearby big guys but it has character, great friendly staff and the adjoining brew house is good for food and a drink. Would definitely recommend this hotel. Also the location is central for everything NY
I have stayed here for business for 1-2 weeks each time during the past two summers. I especially enjoyed the location being close to Target and the Dekalb Food Market. That said, I ate at the Brooklyn Brewhouse restaurant/bar onsite nearly every day. The BB staff is extraordinarily friendly and I never left hungry (or thirsty)! Since I was working 12-15 hour days, my sleep was very important - the beds are super comfy and pillows are available in a variety of options pertaining to firmness. The blackout drapes were perfect, and I slept fantastically during my 2-week stay.
Overall, nice hotel. A few little changes in the room and bathroom could elevate the experience significantly. The rooms are a bit tight and overall could use a little more attention on the maintenance side. The hotel is currently surrounded by construction so sleeping in is not an option if you are a light sleeper.
From the moment my wife and I walked through the doors Aja was warm and welcoming. She educated me on a few IHG practices that I didn’t know of, I told her I was waiting around until check in- we drove all the way from Stamford, CT to have a mini staycation in Brooklyn. She said Sir waiting around you are a Spire member and based on your status we are happy to offer an early check-in , then we told her I was celebrating my birthday and and said OH Sir come on.. I’m going to take care of you, let’s go ahead and upgrade you to the Suite and you know what as a special treat I’m sending something up stairs for you as a birthday gift from us. And she did just that, when we returned she had the room decorated with balloons and placed a bottle of champagne and glasses in the room for us. I love this property I’ve stayed here several times before but this will definitely a trip to remember. Huge Thank You to Aja for going above and beyond. She made me feel Special!
The front desk had a pompous attitude which I really struggled with but perhaps that’s normal with Brooklyn? There are only two elevators to service the entire hotel and One of the elevators was broken so it took a very long time to move around the property. I am a frequent traveler and have had much better experiences with the holiday inn express that is near. Location was great, there is a cool mall within a block that has a basement with 40 different food truck style kiosks. It’s a fun atmosphere and so many different styles of food.
This place has a bait and switchy feel to it. I thought the rate of $109 was reasonable -- but taxes and fees brought it to about $140. This is relatively high compared to other hotels which have rooms much larger than the size of a king bed for a lower rate. When I checked in, I was informed that they would charge my card $100 for incidentals whether or not I had any (twice as much as the Hilton I stayed in the night prior). If there were no incidentals, they would refund the money within a week. Its now my responsibility to watch my account to make sure its refunded. The parking options are very sparse. We drove to the location but our only option was to use the $45 nightly valet parking. The valet parking said we should call the number on the ticket an hour before we want to retrieve our vehicle.
The staff here was incredibly friendly and helpful. Being greeted with a smile after traveling is a welcomed thing. And while Ive seen many reviews about the rooms being too small, I have to disagree. Its a boutique hotel, and its in NYC. Smaller rooms are the standard in New York, and truthfully, this hotel makes the most out of the space with clever design. The style was very fresh and modern, and the room was spotless. VERY clean. The roof terrace was definitely a bonus as well. The room was great value for the money, and the free WIFI is something that fewer and fewer hotels are offering - making it all the more valuable.I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Brooklyn. The location is convenient - only 2 subway stops out of Manhattan, and in a great part of Brooklyn. My husband and I had a great experience during our stay, and will definitely be back again.
After helping our son move into a nearby apartment (for Kings College), we were so relieved for a good nights rest. The rooms are small -- its downtown Brooklyn -- but very clean and well-appointed. The bed was very comfortable. Best of all, the lobby staff helped tremendously by recommending an incredible Italian restaurant, Forno Rosso, just a short walk away. We will definitely be returning to this hotel!
This hotel is conveniently located in Brooklyn. The staff were accommodating of my request to have a mini-fridge in the room, which was very clean. My only complaint is the bed choice for the size of room. There was barely room to walk around it,but it was one of those massive frames with pointy corners. I bumped myself on it in the middle of the night, which is pretty much unavoidable. The bathrooms are also right there in the small room but are not equipped with fans, so you hear everything. That said, it was a pleasant stay and the breakfast at the restaurant next door was great.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and despite a lot of building work going on around, this had no impact so must be well soundproofed. Room was very comfortable and a very good shower in the bathroom, although room could have been a bit bigger, but not a major issue since never intend to spend much time in itBar within hotel offered good food and some decent happy hour deals.
The hotel in itself was fine, but the staff werent the most professional Ive seen...The beds were comfortable and big. The neighborhood is not the most interesting, lots of stuff is under construction right now. Some of the reception staff seemed to be sleepwalking. Our room wasnt ready on time. Fortunately we were eventually given a discount for waiting and being told over and over again ten more minutes...We had a reservation for four people but had three sets of towels and only one set of toiletries.
As a soon-to-be bride, I was immediately taken care of upon check-in until check-out. Lamar, the manager on duty, was so accommodating and really went out of his way to make myself and my girls feel special. His staff were also very communicative and kind, following his lead, as well. Our suite was more than enough space and lighting for pictures the next day. I also loved the interior design of the room. My stay was memorable and I would definitely stay there again - this time as a wife! :)
We were recommended to this hotel by a friend and decided to stay because it seemed to be the most reasonably pleased riced in the area. Upon arrival there was no available valet service which was unfortunate because we got in rather late with small children. When my husband checked in, the bar next doors music was rather loud and he couldn’t hear the front desk clerk. Rather than being understanding of the circumstances she seemed rude and impatient. The rooms heating and cooling system seemed to be malfunctioning at the time. The sleeping accommodations were just fine, but personally I had an overall issue with the cleanliness of the room. I had to purchase Lysol wipes to wipe surfaces down that apparently hadn’t been cleaned in a while or at all in both the room and bathroom areas. Additionally the next day when we returned for the day, there was no available valet parking again and to park several blocks away.
Hotel is generally run down and in dire need of a revamp. The room and the furniture was old and banged up, and most of it needed to be replaced. The bathroom looked to have been recently remodeled but even that was pretty shoddy. Staff ranged from nice to borderline rude, and restaurant in the hotel is not worth eating at. The business center consists of one computer stuck in the corner with a printer you couldnt figure out how to use. And the staff is so poorly trained that you will be transferred around and around because nobody really knows what they are doing. All in all, it was a good thing that the cost was so negligibly small due to it being included with my Expedia booking that I cant imagine they make much, if anything, on this property.
Very happy with my recent stay at the Hotel Indigo, Brooklyn, NY. Hotel location was ideal with major subway station less than 2 blocks away. Staff were extremily friendly, knowledgable and helpful. Guest room was on the smaller side which was expected due to city location but very clean with excellent lighting (very large window) and very comfortable bed. Bathroom was well light, clean and efficient. Room was quiet and never heard the neighbors around us, even though the hotel was fully booked during our stay. Parking was convienent and safe. VERY happy with my stay and will certainly return!
Great service throughout our stay, the staff was very friendly and helpful, thank you for that! The room exceeded our expectations, we even had a nice balcony/terrace. It was very clean and comfortable and had some amenities that we really appreciated, such as an iron and iron board, and a coffee machine. The bathroom was clean and everything worked. The toiletries (soap, shampoo etc.) provided were of great quality too. The bed was comfortable, we slept well. As we were in New York in November, the weather was pretty cold already, which was reflected in the room. The room of the terrace/balcony was a bit crooked, so a bit of cold air surely came in all the time. There was an Ac/heating system, though, which helped.
This property is conveniently located and the price is kuch better than other area hotels. The hotel was clean when the room was spacious. Internet and TV worked well and the gym was small but had the basics. Housekeeping here is not good. The housekeeper themselves do a good job, but getting the front desk staff to have them service the room is quite difficult. Not sure what the issue is or was but it took several requests and visits to the front desk to get housekeeping to our room. And even then, we actually ran into housekeeper in the hall and asked her to clean room. I doubt we would have had our room serviced at all if we hadnt spoke with housekeeper personally. Front desk staff needs some training, particularly in customer service.
We stayed one night and really enjoyed this hotel. It was modern and fresh. We loved the design of the room and bathroom, the beds and pillows were very comfortable. Really liked that there was no carpeting on the floor which made the room feel cleaner. We used the valet service to park our car which worked out fine. The neighborhood was okay, I would not want to walk around at night by myself. I felt the room rate was good compared to a Manhattan hotel, but still a little high. One negative-there was no bottled water offered in the room (either for free or for sale) or a machine in the hotel to buy soda, etc. When we got back late in the evening we asked where in the hotel we could get some water and we were told we could go to the hotel across the street and buy water. We thought that was strange. You can walk to and over the Brooklyn Bridge from the hotel which you should do if you have time. I would definitely stay in this hotel again and would recommend it.
Out of the hotels Ive been to, I do like visiting Indigo properties. This room (13th floor) had a great view, and a cozy room. But honestly, what Indigo did with the size of the space was incredible. Absolutely loved the shower, mural on the ceiling, and the view was pretty nice at sunset. Walking distance to some great spots near by as well. Id go back for sure.
The Hotel Indigo is located in a Brooklyn shopping area and a good base from which to explore the southern part of the borough. Its also not far to Manhattan. The room was nice and clean (albeit as small for what you pay as in any Manhattan hotel, really), the staff were professional, the bar was good. Unfortunately, we were placed in a room facing a construction site, which got genuinely noisy early in the morning and impacted both sleep quality and our feeling about the value for money we got - until construction is over on that site (which may be a while given theyre building a high-rise), rooms facing the other side of the building may be worth the hotels rates; the ones facing the construction site, in our opinion, are not.
All of the staff during our stay were truly wonderful. We were offered a glass of champagne as we waited in the lobby for our taxi, late checkout was not a problem, and the front desk staff was happy to hold our bags after we checked out.The property was clean and modern. Although the room was small, it was all we needed for our stay. The only con during the weekend, was that only one of the two elevators were operating, which made for long waits to get up or down.
We had a terrible experience at Hotel Indigo. We checked in early in the day to make sure that we got a quiet room. The room wasnt ready (which was fine), but when we returned at 10PM, we were given a room with AC that didnt work. Clearly the staff knew about this because the circuit breaker for the AC was off and there was a large fan in the room. When we called the desk to ask for it to be repaired, we were told that it couldnt be dealt with until the next day and that they were fully booked. We went down to the lobby and were then told we could move to a tinier room with AC. We elected to do that to get some sleep in a cool room. They moved us to another room the next day which was the same size that we had booked and they did take $20 off of our room. The staff seemed poorly trained and flustered about this issue. Also, when we booked the hotel we were told that because we were IHG members we had free parking. However, that wasnt true and the staff told us that this has happened before. Also, one of the 2 elevators for the hotel was out one night and when we asked when it would be fixed, we were told that it would probably take several days! We have stayed in many NY hotels with small rooms, but the rooms at the Indigo were miniscule in comparison. We will never stay at this hotel again and it is definitely not up to IHG standards!!
First, I must say that I liked the room design. You had chai tea, my favorite. I didnt want to seem fussy but I look forward to a nice fresh smell and comfortable bed when I stay in a hotel. The bed was not firm enough and I didnt have a choice but to roll to the center to relax a bit. My bed linen was not fresh. Also, The fact that I didnt get the funds returned upon leaving the hotel, and they told me ot may take a few days, made me upset.
My stay was very good! The room was modern, comfortable and very clean!! Easy access to power for my devices and the Internet was solid. At first glance I thought the bed would be to hard, but I slept great, and the pillows were excellent! I could have used one more cover, a little heavier, but now I am just nitpicking. I was walking distance from my venue and a short Uber from excellent restaurants.
I stayed at this property 15 times in the last 4 years and Im never disappointed. The staff is on point and helpful. The location cant be beat... Its in the middle of the up-and-coming downtown Brooklyn area and is served by a lot of Subway Lines making access to Manhattan simple and quick. Lots of shopping and restaurants nearby. The last stay was highlighted by the extraordinary help of a front desk clerk name Anisa, and even though the staff has changed over the years the general manager Andre has got to be the key in the consistently good staff and consistently high quality of this hotel in making this property my favorite in town.
The hotel was in the cut meaning if you blink you would miss it when you are looking for it and that is ok because once we found it everything went smooth. All the staff were very pleasant. The room however was overpriced because it was extremely to small. We were literally on top of each other. If we wanted to walk in the room one of us would always have to step aside. The curtains were stained with something that looked gross as well as the burgundy throw that laid across the bed. I did like the fact that check out was 12 because most hotels it is 11. The size of the room should be told to guests upon check in so that they know what they are getting into. Also the parking is really expensive. There should be some sort of discount for hotel stayovers. I wouldnt recommend this hotel to my friends as they are all couples. I would only recommend to single people and I will be sure to inform them of everything.
Rooms are VERY small. Coffee makers have only decaf pods. Bathroom sink faucet had a flow restrictor that sprayed water everywhere when turned up. One of the wall-mounted lamps by the bed headboard was missing. Bed was reasonably comfortable. Staff was friendly but housekeeping services were poor - had to ask for shampoo and tissues. Hotel is in a great location near downtown shopping and transit. Hotel decor is gaudy and out-dated.
The hotel is in a great location and has a great Bar off the lobby! The bathroom is tiny, the facets in the shower take a lot of time to master, the facets in the sinks spray out sideways and the shower head won’t stay in a high position so it’s tough to shower if your over 5 feet tall. The floor in my room was dirty and my TV remote didn’t work?
We stayed here for 4 days and the room was pretty small. Smaller than your average NY hotel. But it was clean and had all the necessities for our stay. The staff were very polite and checked on us to make sure we were settled in ok and asked if we needed anything. We didnt care for the bar/lounge attached. The area seemed a little sketchy to us as well. Overall it was a good stay.
We arrived around noon at the hotel and requested if an upgrade was possible, as we are Spire Elite and were loaded with luggage. We told them we did not mind waiting for an upgraded room to be cleaned up. However, Front desk clerk Anja and manager Mr. Arslan repeatedly refused to provide an upgrade, saying they were sold out. So they assigned us a room and when we went up, it was so small that we could barely walk, let alone place three suitcases. We went back to the front desk and once again they refused to upgrade. I went into IHG.com and showed them that they were lying about being sold out, as the site was showing plenty of different types of rooms available for that night at this hotel. But being caught lying was not enough for them to budge. They insisted on not upgrading us, forcing us to cancel and leave. We had to reserve at another hotel, where fortunately we got a very nice suite for the same price and in Times Square. Still I think it is despicable what they did to us and the uncourteously manner in which they treated us. We wasted three hours of our precious vacation time. Will never reserve again here. Very nasty!!
I must start from the beginning:1. I loved the customer service experience - Naomi (the manager), LamarAndre, and Sue were amazing! Thank you!2. The hotel location was phenomenal!3. Price was great as well!4. The decor of my room (chandelier theme, red/white color theme) and view of the city were memorable!5. Having a bar/restaurant/lounge attached is such a convenience!6. The outdoor patio is very relaxing....with a nice view!7. Ooohhhh the bed was SSOOOO comfy!! 8. The shower head is everything (positive)!Thank you!!! When I visit Brooklyn again, Ill surely look into staying at this hotel again.........especially if yall have the same team/staff! :-D Im so happy I turned 30 at your hotel! :-D
This place was excellent for a long weekend in the city. Rooms are small, but if you know that going in then its a great experience (even if you dont know it going in itll be great, just might be slightly surprising when you get to your room). Only slight negative was there were only two elevators which meant every so often I had to wait a couple minutes but for the price, location, quality, and view I couldnt complain if you paid me to haha.
After reading reviews on this hotel (small rooms, etc) I had low expectations for my stay. I knew at the end of the day, all I needed was a comfy bed after a day exploring Manhattan and beyond! We came here for our honeymoon and immediately I was so thankful for the friendliness of the front desk staff (Yeli - my favorite! She was so kind and thoughtful). After our first night she kindly moved our things up to the 18th floor in a slightly bigger room. (Our first room had no mini fridge and the AC wasnt working). Our room was small, but everything you needed. It was clean and the bed is extremely comfy! The hotel staff are accommodating and I would recommend this place to anyone looking to enjoy NYC in a clean, modern hotel that doesnt have the price tag of those actually in Manhattan. The hotel is a very very quick subway ride to Manhattan with multiple stops located within a two block radius. You can also easily walk over the Brooklyn bridge. The neighborhood is getting a facelift, and while it isnt the prettiest of neighborhoods, we found it relatively safe and enjoyed exploring.TIPS - Definitely ask for a room on a top floor. The street noise is loud, especially with the bar that is attached to the hotel. There is also quite a bit of construction happening in the area.
This property might be a conversion from another hotel or residence. It was frigid in February and there was no heat in the bathroom. Heat did work in the guest room, but it did take quite a while to warm up. On the third floor, hot water took a long time to appear, if at all. I resorted to using the hair dryer to get some heat into the bathroom. You might have a better experience in a different room or floor.Wallpaper on the ceiling is very odd. A blow-up of a chandelier. Kind of distracting and makes the small room look even smaller.Hotel staff were excellent. Check-in was quick and they were happy to provide directions to the subway, which was nearby. Adjoining restaurant has good food at reasonable prices.
Sons wedding in the neighborhood. Our expectations of the Hotel were exceeded in every way. Staff was friendly, welcoming and helpful from check-in through check-out. We were there for three days so experienced many staff changes and all were consistently a pleasure to deal with. Need to provide gift bags to the wedding guests? Each was placed in the guests rooms with a smile. Need a blanket? Delivered in 10 minutes to your room. Need a cab or car? Calls were made efficiently and the manager stepped in to be sure we all got to the wedding on time. All of our group were welcomed with professionalism and enthusiasm by the staff. They helped set an upbeat tone right from the start. If your travels bring you to the neighborhood of this hotel, dont hesitate to stay here. You wont regret it.
When working in the greater NYC area, I look to Brooklyn for my hotel stays. Have been to this location twice. Staff have always been polite & friendly and even humorous about my evening plans. While my first stay had a king bed, the room intself was very small with the desk not in the same space as the TV. The bed and shower were great. My second stay put me in a bigger room with two beds. Very comfortable with interesting views of the area. Bathroom great again.I love staying here because it is right next to downtown Brooklyn and it is a short walk to most dining and attractions. Price has been great as well.My only concerns are the neighborhood and the parking, but I realize what the changes occuring in your neighborhood and that parking will always be an issue in Brooklyn. With your first rate staff and cool rooms, I consider this location a must when staying in Brooklyn especially on business.
Clean, comfortable, fresh environment. It definitely has a Brooklyn-vibe. Amazing little bar/restaurant next door open late. Room service got me everything I needed. Although we were very disappointed by the parking valet situation, Maria the manager helped us out a great deal. She was able to handle the situation quickly and in our favor. Very helpful and friendly staff!
Location is good. Close to shops, and subway station. Parking is tough or forget it. Although there is a construction site next to the hotel which is very noisy in the morning. The air condition is good. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The hotel is fully renovated. The room is VERY small but its doable. The bathroom is very clean and the shower was AMAZING. I will come back again.
We have stayed in NY many times over the years. This hotel had a nice location for the event we were attending. The room we had was the smallest I have experienced in all my stays. Between the bed and the window the space was about 18 inches and from the other wall about 2 feet. When passing another person in the room one of us needed to turn sideways. The bathroom while compact, was very functional.
I knew this was a boutique hotel, but the rooms were very tight. Our first room did not have working AC or wall lights. We contacted the front desk and they provided us with another room that had everything working. We tried to book a 2nd night on a whim and called the front desk about 6 times and no one picked up. We eventually had to go back to the hotel and make the reservation in person. The discount price we received for the wedding was more the price point I was comfortable with paying for the quality, I did not find much value with the full-price. The restaurant attached to the hotel was average, they did serve good drinks. We went there for breakfast on our last day and after we ordered our drinks they let us know that there were no breakfast meats available - just eggs. I feel they should have mentioned that before they took our order. We politely left after we got the bill for our coffee and cranberry juice (something we feel they should have comped). The location is great! Close to shopping and other restaurants. I have to admit that the front desk staff that I did interact with her VERY helpful and understanding of the requests from the sister of a crazed bride. :) As it is NYC, there was a car horn that was beeping ALL NIGHT LONG (until about 1am). I know there will be city noises and things that cant be helped, but that was the most. All in all, I dont think I would come back to this hotel, but I would definitely visit the area again.
Ive stayed here several times over the years and the Staff is always friendly and very helpful and ready to make sure Im comfortable and happy with my stay. Theyll go out of their way to see that youre happy! The rooms are always clean! Most of the rooms are a little small but overall my stays have always been a great experience! The bar next door is nice and has good food and friendly wait staff as well.
One of my favorite hotels in Brooklyn. The hotel is near several Metro stops, so its travel and family friendly. The neighborhood has been growing in recent years, and theres tons of shopping an food nearby. Its within walking distance of Juniors Famous Cheesecakes, and equally close to famous PIO BAGEL. Theres a Target on the next block, and a mall with a food court nearby. Shopping on Fulton is great, with Old Navy and other outlets. Near the transit museum, and a quick walk to the great pizza near the Brooklyn Bridge. Staff here is a little disgruntled, with many sharing their issues with management, and they appear to be in a period of high turnover. Some suggested that the opening of two nearby Hotel Indigo locations has been a resource drain from this location. Regardless, the staff is friendly and helpful. One standout during my stay was front desk employee named Lynn. Superstar and very helpful. Im the type of guest that asks many questions and requests a bit more attention, and the staff here has always accommodated me and my wishes. Theres a full service restaurant/bar off the lobby that provides a convenient way to get a drink or bite to eat nearby.
All in all, the hotel wasnt bad, but there were a few issues. One was that the website said there was a restaurant as well as room service, but there was no indication that there was any room service available. There was a bar/restaurant next door, food was fine, but it was extremely noisy, so if you dont like rap music played at high volume, you may want to go elsewhere. There is construction on the street so Id recommend requesting a car before you normally would, as it can get stuck on the street for about 10 minutes and takes a while to arrive also. Room was tiny, and the sink could not be used unless the bathroom door was closed. Shower only. There is only a little more than a foot on either side of the bed, and no drawers. A few hangers but no real closet. There is an in-room safe, but my 15 inch laptop was at least an inch too long, and there are no larger safes downstairs. The bed was extremely comfortable and the towels were great for hotel towels. I would return, but probably not with my laptop. Location is fantastic, close to 2 different subway stations, lots of restaurants (chain and otherwise) and the Fulton Mall.
I am just home from staying at this hotel for a week and it really made my stay in Brooklyn. The room wasnt the largest ive stayed in, but it was certainly big enough for me, the bed was very comfortable, the room was also clean and modern. The staff were lovely and helpful. The bar downstairs was fabulous, great wine and breakfasts (sorry i set the bin on fire outside). I will definitely recommend this hotel to anybody who has seen all the sites of Manhattan and wants to see what Brooklyn has to offer...which is amazing. I will definitely be back to this hotel next time im in town.
I LOVE THIS HOTEL. This is the only place my family and I stay in when we visit NYC. Great staff, beautiful location and in a community deeply embedded in history!I have a daughter who is currently a student at the prestigious Fashion Institute Of Technology but I have always preferred to stay in Brooklyn. This location is close to the subway an easy place to get to.Try it out! You won’t be disappointed!Brooklyn is where art lives, Brooklyn is where culture lives, Brooklyn is the place to be when visiting NYC.
Where shall I begin . . .We arrived at the hotel, checked-in, and was assigned a room. When I got to our room I turned on the shower, because I wanted to wash up after traveling. The shower started to clog and then the room began to flood from the water coming from the walls. I would post the pictures and videos if that was an option. But wait, I am not done. When I checked in I used one card for the room charge and another for the incidental hold. For some reason the hotel charged me on both cards and had funds holding on both of my cards. The final charge for the stay ended up finalizing on the card I specifically asked them NOT to. I called and spoke with the manager at the location. Ms. Davenport promised me that she would call me back on 09/07/2018 after she spoke with someone and still havent received a phone call. I only gave it two stars because the rooms and staff were welcoming. Both rooms did not come with mini refrigerators like the website states. Unfortunately, I will not be back!
This was our first time staying at Hotel Indigo Brooklyn, and we were very impressed! Its centrally located to several subway lines, which allowed for lots of sightseeing in Brooklyn and Manhattan in a short amount of time. The staff at the hotel was amazingly friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. They were happy to help with everything from watching our bags before check-in so we could go to the Mermaid Parade, to offering subway advice for how to navigate Brooklyn. The hotel room itself was clean, comfortable and stylish. There wasnt too much noise from the street below or neighborhood, which made for a good nights rest. Well definitely be staying here the next time we come back to Brooklyn!
Ive stayed at other hotel Indigos before and they have always been great. I cant say the same about this location though. I had booked a king room originally but when I got to the hotel they told me that there were none left. The room I eventually got was the size of a shoebox. The toilet was plugged when I went to use the bathroom. Phoned the front desk and they told me that someone would be up shortly. 30 minutes later and no one came. I eventually asked to switch rooms which they were happy to do.The staff were friendly and helpful but this property is a 2.5 star at best. Go stay at their lower East side location, its 100× better.
Just stayed here for a weekend visit with our daughters who live in Manhattan and Brooklyn. Weve been to NYC multiple times, but this was our first time to stay in Brooklyn. The location was convenient to subways, the Hoyt St. and Jay St. stations in particular. Being a Platinum Member we were upgraded to a King studio which was wonderful--very spacious compared to the other rooms. Sleep quality was pretty good--there was some construction on the street that made sleeping late a little difficult even though the hotel is on an otherwise quiet street. The pillows were good, but we found the mattress a little too firm. The air conditioner also kept us too cool as the vents blow directly down on the bed. Our only other complaint about the room was the hand held shower which was very hard to use and not get water all over the bathroom. We didnt, however, have a problem at all with hot water as other viewers noted. Otherwise the room was extremely clean and the decor very nice and modern. When we checked out the front desk staff was very nice about storing our luggage until time for our flight. Unfortunately as we were returning to pick it up on our way to the airport, we learned our flight had been canceled and we were rebooked on a flight the next day. We inquired as to whether they had any rooms available for the night--they did, but the rate they quoted was about $50 more than we had paid the night before, and was for a queen room rather than king. We initially declined the room, but before leaving I pulled up my IHG app and found the same room at a AAA rate $40 lower than the rate they quoted. I was really disappointed that the desk clerk didnt ask if we had a AAA card and obviously wasnt quoting their best rate, especially given the fact that we were in a bind and this was an unplanned nights stay. When I showed her the rate on my phone, she suggested I reserve it using the IHG app, which I did. She also did not offer to upgrade us again for our Platinum Status...perhaps there werent better rooms available. I didnt ask. The single queen room we were given is TINY and now I can appreciate the complaints some other reviewers had about the room size. It would have been uncomfortable to spend three nights in such a small room.Even though we had a good stay overall, the fact that we were quoted a higher rate than the IHG website rates for our unexpected additional night left me with an unfavorable impression. Perhaps the desk staff doesnt have access to the website rates--this taught me to always double check. Regardless, we may stay there again in the future if staying in Brooklyn.
All the front desk staff were most helpful and friendly throughout our visit. We were a party with 4 rooms -- 3 were compact sized rooms typical of NYC and 1 was a larger room with 2 beds which due to it larger size was our go to meeting room. The staff made this happen, so thank you for making this available.Rooms were all clean and the beds were comfortable. We all enjoyed our stay.
Overall, we liked the hotel quite a bit. Initially we had a room with one bed and it was VERY small, but we were able to move to a room with 2 beds and it was perfect. The downtown Brooklyn location was very convenient and there were 3 different subway lines within a few blocks. I would stay here again.
We booked 2 nights with points, separate reservations. The desk staff kept us in the same room, however it wasnt cleaned after the first night. We really didnt dirty the place, but we were assigned a handicap room, so the shower went out of the drain area onto the bathroom floor. We used our used towels to sop up the water. We used the coffee the first morning, expecting them to be replaced for the second morning. Towels and coffee werent replaced. We reported that the safe wasnt working to the desk staff. They supposedly reported it to maintenance, but it wasnt fixed that day.As SPIRE members of IHG, we expect better service. We werent asked about the welcome points added to our account as usually happens. We had a great stay and recommend this Indigo Hotel, it just needs to be adjusted a bit!
Upon entering the hotel, the lobby was trendy with a city feel that reflected an upscale Brooklynnite. Front desk was professional and friendly. I felt safe with the security level of access of hotel floors. Upon entering my room, I instantly posted a pic on IG and FB and hashtagged the hotel. It was so cute! Friends instantly wanted to know where I stayed and drooled over the cuteness of the room, specifically the headboard and ceiling. Location was perfect to what I needed to access: subway, place of worship, food and family who lives in the city. Enjoyed my visit and will be looking for other Hotel Indigos when I travel in the future.
For Mother’s Day this year, I didn’t want to do brunch-maybe, it’s because I’m a Chef. Working as a Chef and being a mom to a rambunctious 3 1/2 year old makes me long for some quiet, alone time. I treated myself to much needed rest and relaxation at Hotel Indigo. I checked in before the appointed time, somewhat expecting to wait until 3pm. But Sue was a sweetheart and was more than willing to check me in early. The room was small, but clean and very comfortable. I loved the décor and the modern bathroom. Thumbs up for the spa like touches, and complimentary Aveda products. The view-well…it was awful. I get that every desirable part of Brooklyn is being developed, but having to see the unsightly remnants of it, is not what I wanted. Without any hesitation, Sue changed my room to a higher floor, with a front facing view. Still not great, but the night lights of the city made up for it. For the $15 extra dollars I paid for breakfast, I was totally disapointed. Completly overpriced and underwhelming. Will visit again, but skip breakfast.
Clean, modern boutique-y hotel walking distance to Barclay Center and shopping. Once you accept that hotel rooms in this area are small (get over it, it is NYC!) youll find this hotel has been nicely furnished and has all the amenities you need for a night or two in the city. What amazed me most was how quiet this hotel/neighborhood is - usually street noise bothers me in NYC but I heard nothing here! Prices can vary depending on when you book - I paid a bit more than usual because I booked last minute but you can certainly find deals here if you book in advance. When I booked I was able to add breakfast for two onto my reservation for roughly $7. We assumed it would be a simple continental breakfast but we were pleasantly surprised to receive a $30 voucher for the attached restaurant. Was super easy to walk everywhere but also to get cabs, Ubers, and Lyfts in this neighborhood. Any there are late night/24 eats around, you just have to know where to look. 1/4 mile in any direction and you will stumble on NYC-style 24/7 convenience stores/sandwich shops. Dont dismiss - these sometimes offer some of the best late night food! Otherwise a quick Yelp search will lead you to one of many 24/7 diners in the area.
This hotel is just fine. Nothing special, but comfortable and quiet. The rooms are not in great condition. For example, there was a vent missing from the ceiling in our room, so there was just a big hole in the ceiling. The shower is also very small. Water leaks out of the shower all over the bathroom floor, no matter what you do.
I had a great lunch in the brew pub which I presume is part of the hotel. Room was small but fair price and immaculate. It was a nice getaway for a new Yorker like myself. I guess my only complaint was the late check in and I do understand but it kind of starts things out on the wrong foot. Friendly staff working on my floor,13th, when housekeepers, who have the toughest job maintain a pleasant demeanor it goes a long way
The hotel was small as well as the rooms, but everything was very clean and up to date. I thought the chandelier art on the ceiling was a little out of the ordinary but it definitely wasnt tacky. The service was great. All the staff was friendly, and I must mention the name Jonathan during my stay (Dec. 5-7, 2016). He was very knowledgeable about the area and we took soome of his recommendations. My cousin and I felt at home. He worked the front desk late night, possibly the graveyard shift, and every time we arrived in them wee hours of the morning, he always had a gregarious attitude, always helping and guiding.
The staff was great, friendly, helpful always smiling and asking if we were comfortable and if they could do anything to make our stay better. The rooms were small but comfortable, the beds a bit on the stiff side. Despite the construction of the building next door I heard little noise while in the room. WiFi did cut out a few times but could have been my companies lap top. The last day there the cable did not work however that was due to the cable company working on the systems not the fault of the hotel. Over all it was a nice relaxing stay I would recommend to others. The hotel is close to the sub way there is a coffee shop and excellent deli that makes the best bagel sandwiches ever, just up the block. I will stay at the Indigo on my next trip to Brooklyn.
I really enjoyed my visit to NY mainly because of the hospitality this hotel provided. It was over the top customer service. Tawanna @ the front desk was superb. She guided me into my room, helping with luggage, helped me get a cab, then checked out with her helping me load my car. Ive never had that kind of service. Genuinely kind and personal. The room was clean, quiet and comfortable. I sincerely enjoyed my stay. Plenty of opportunity for restaurants, shopping and night life within walking distance. Highly recommend and hope to return. Thank you for your kindness hotel Indigo.
The location is awesome to all of the subway stations, but it is difficult to find the hotel due to construction next door. You can be at Times Square in less than 30 minutes. The rooms are very small and the construction next door creates a lot of noise in the early morning. The hotel supplies you with earplugs. The staff are very nice. Be prepared for No coffee in the lobby.
The rooms at the hotel are small, but this is New York. What makes up for the small room size is the excellent staff. The front desk personnel are always welcoming and professional. Theyve always been able to assist me with whatever Ive needed. The cleanliness of my room speaks highly of the housekeeping staff. I look forward to my next stay with them.
Good location being close to various dining and Jay St subway. Good if you just want a nice small room to crash--really great bed and clean room. Shower was awful--one moving part for pressure and temp. Will wake up early with construction next door. Staff quality varies wildly. The hour before check-in had one person in a foul mood who refused to even see if any rooms were available and left bags to sit unmonitored as guests gathered in the tiny lobby. She left the desk constantly with the front doors 15 feet away and no other staff there. Front dirty sliding doors resemble grocery store with no sign at ground level marking the hotel, and bad street condition due to construction. Another desk person was really great and he made the effort to make my TV work, but confirmed it didnt -- if it matters to you to have working TV, you need to do so when engineer is available and not at the end of your long day.
Good value for money. The hotel staff were super friendly and efficient, the room extra clean, the bed comfortable and we loved the renovated interior of the room/bathroom which was fresh and tasty. On the downside, the room was rather small giving little to no space at all when occupied by 2 people with a total of 2-3 suitcases.
Compared to the other Hotel Indigot properties in the NYC area this one stands out as the rock bottom worst. And not by a little, it takes bad to a new level. The property is run down and is in dire need of a Reno. I couldnt tell if the staff is bad or just poorly trained but it took 3 phone calls to change my reservation, and being transferred to 6 different people on one call, and I still wasnt able to make the change I needed. The room is old and some of the fixtures are literally falling off the wall. The desk is old and the wood is peeling off, and the bathroom counter is literally falling off the wall. I tried to order a pot of coffee to the room and I wasnt able to do that because there was apparently only one waiter in the restaurant. I had to asked twice for more Keurig pods instead and twice for some bottled water. The business center is a computer stuck in a corner, and the printer doesnt work. And I am STILL waiting for my email bill. Unless you stay there for free, or they pay you, find someplace else.
Great location, close to subway and Brooklyn Bridge. Room very small - adequate for a short stay but no room to unpack and store cases if you stay for 5 days, as we did. Bathroom beautifully clean, bed clean. TV didnt work and had to ask to move room to get one that did. Coffee machine didnt work - needed changing twice!
I had stayed here for 2 weeks after a house fire in my apartment. They got us a room very quickly and it was very nice. They accommodated us with our two cats as well. The staff always greeted us in the lobby and the housekeeping staff let us pick a time every day we wanted them to clean. The only thing they asked of us with our pets was to put them in their carriers while they cleaned. The restaurant that was affiliated with the hotel and the room service was also really good. Room service came very quickly and was very good especially for a restaurant primarily based around bar food. The lounge was very nice as well.
I was a little annoyed upon arrival that as a Platinum member I did not get the original room I requested (King Size Bed) but they did switch rooms for me the next day and also provided a breakfast voucher (which I believe I usually get). The hotel was fun, not as secure as I would like it (the elevator was supposed to use room key access, but anyone could get to the rooms). For NYC rooms are always on the smaller size, the bathroom and really eclectic decor made up for that.Things to work on:-Security-Cleanliness (my first room had a large stain on the curtains)Overall pleasant experience
Don’t let the value fool you. Th hotel is updated and clean. The room was neat and clean. There is construction in the neighborhood and management left a note and 2 pairs of ear plugs but we did not experience any noise whatsoever. Our stay was wonderful and would definitely stay again.
Very dissapointed as we have stayed in other Indigo properties and loved them. ie. LondonRoom was smaller than London if you can believe...So small you couldnt move. The staff was great though and got us a different room which was much much better ...not great... but I think the best they had so we did appreciate that.I wouldnt saty again unless I knew the room size to start with. In our case, the staff, Shikira and Cesandra were great and made a huge difference and Cloe from housing keeping went out of her way to be helpful as well. The staff was the best part of the stay.
Ecclectic decor, staff friendly. Disappointed no food service from hotel itslelf, room service came from resturant next door and food was very pricey; When i ate at the resturant i ordered 2 Margaritas which was excellent, had a veggie burger total cost almost $50 bucks, second day had repeat veggie burger and was made poorly, i guess i didnt leave big enough tip! Although room was small the bed was comfortable but i did have to ask for a blanket, no biggie. very disappointed with staff when leaving, it took a whilefor check out, then no one to helpme with 4 big bags and my wheelchair.....uhh obviouse im handicapped. would i stay at Indigo again.....yes!
Hotel staff was very friendly. Room was clean and comfortable. It was difficult to move around room for two people due to the size of the room. Bathroom was nice although shower was tiny. It would have been nice to have a small breakfast area (continental breakfast). Only coffee was a Kuerig but, they were out of decaf. Location a little confusing to get to due to construction and nature of the sidestreets. Overall, I did like the hotel. Terrace on roof was nice.
I was stuck in New York for an extra day so my wife found this room for me. She called and made a reservation and was very impressed with the reservationist. The front desk clerk, Shakira, was terrific. The room was nice and in a very good location. The price wasnt bad for Brooklyn. My room was very comfortable although a bit small but very quiet. There is no parking but I was able to find a good parking garage a block away for $22 for 24 hours.
We stayed for four nights and cant say enough about how helpful the front desk staff was! Always friendly, answered all of questions and help to make our stay enjoyable with directions and recommendations. The room was clean and the beds were very comfortable. Would recommend to anyone visiting Brooklyn!
The hotel was nice and about what I expected. The front desk service associate was great and explained everything we needed to know about the hotel and answered all of our questions. Id rate him as excellent. :)The room was extremely small, BUT considering that I was only staying for one night (I checked in around 11:30pm and left around 9am), it was fine for what I paid. I probably would have wanted something bigger if I had planned on staying there longer or hanging out in the hotel more. My boyfriend and I forgot to bring toothpaste and the hotel brought us some within minutes which was a relief. We didnt want to leave the hotel in search of CVS at that hour. The bathroom footprint was small, but modern and well arranged. My 65 boyfriend managed to fit comfortably in the shower without hunching down to fit under the spout, which is already a bonus for him. My only complaint was that the bed was so hard! It felt like I was sleeping on plywood. Granted, I am bias towards a super soft bed so I guess if someone liked a firm bed or something in the middle it would be fine. When we first arrived at the hotel, the front desk asked if we wanted a low, middle, or high up floor for a our room, which was a nice consideration. It would be nice if they could also accommodate bed preference (firm or soft) as well. Just a recommendation. Overall, I was happy with the hotel, staff, and room. Just wish the bed was a bit better. Given my usual hotel budget, Id be willing to go back.
This hotel is within a few blocks of several subway lines and is close to many good restaurants and shopping. The staff is friendly and attentive. The rooms are clean and the beds comfortable. Even though there was major construction taking place on the street, the room was quiet.I would have liked another piece of furniture in the room, besides the desk, so that there would be a place to set your items.
We had a great experience @ IHG in Brooklyn. The property was is a great location, lots of places to walk to and things to do.The hotel is very secure and there is always staff at the front desk to assist. The staff at the front desk went out of their way to help my daughter get to the airport hours after our checkout. The rooms were very nice, clean and comfortable. There are lots of windows and you get a great view of the city.I would stay at this hotel again in the future.
Location was convenient for our sons wedding reception. Adjacent property is under construction, but did not impact our stay. Very limited parking in front of building, and it makes it challenging when unloading luggage. There seemed to be a very large number of private fleet vehicles taking up most all of the curb space adjacent to the hotel, so it is difficult to pull your vehicle into the registration space while unloading the car. Room was quiet and bed was comfortable. Really no room for your luggage. Bathroom shower stall was a welcome relief and loved the Aveda products. Room temperature was very comfortable. Only noise problem we had was Saturday night, when we heard a lot of street noise and screaming.
Im originally from Brooklyn and enjoyed my short stay at the Indigo. The staff was pleasant and accommodating. The pillows were a little soft for me but the bed was okay. The hotel seemed very quiet except for the construction on Duffield St. The location was very convenient to buses and subways (and JUNIORS RESTAURANT) and I was able to get around very easily.
I really enjoyed every single day of my birthday weekend. The staff was very welcoming and nice. The location is great ! I purchased so much stuff that it was a struggle to pack to go home. The rooms are a little small but its New York. The room was clean and towels replenished everyday. Easy walk to the train entrance to get to the city and shopping is very close. Also, try the deli on the corner the Pastrami and cheese steak are AMAZINGGGGGG ! If you are arriving on plane setup the car service the hotel offer. It is $35 flat fee, instead of paying $50 for Uber. Every dollar counts in NYC .
Its in a great location. However, it is a bit pricey and the person in guest services that was helping me book my room, was difficult. When I finally arrived to the hotel, Daniel was at the front desk and he was extremely courteous. The first room assigned to us, did not have any electricity. When I told Daniel, he assigned a different room immediately and had given me a Breakfast voucher. As far as the cleanliness of the rooms, I was not impressed. There was dust build up on the lamps and curtains. There were not enough towels and washclothes in the room to accommodate my stay. Overall the hotel is ok, I would stay there again, if the price was lower.
My experience was fantastic from start to finish. When unexpected weather caused some of my family to cancel their trip, the hotel staff had no issue changing (down grade) my reservation within the 24 hour window. While the size of these rooms may disappoint a person visiting Brooklyn for the first time, I found that they were a great size for the price point and area. Whoever designed these rooms really put thought into function and space. However, the LED lighting by the beds could use a swap out - they light temperature gives off an odd yellow tint toward the middle of the light. (When I first turned on the light and looked at the bed sheets, I thought there was a yellow stain on them - it was the light.)The hotel was surrounded by construction, but it wasnt a distraction. There are a number of train options near by (my family and I had no issue getting from the hotel to the lower east side, and from Rockefeller Center back to the hotel).Since my business event ended close to check out, I requested a late check out, and there was no issue with accommodating my request. If things remain the same, Ill stay here again.
While the rooms are fairly small, they have a good amount of storage both with drawers under the bed and a large closet. We are a family of 5 so we rented two rooms, one double queen and one king. The room with two queens is larger than the king room, which makes sense as the queen room can accommodate up to four people. There are no bathtubs (we have children and they were disappointed) but the bathroom amenities were Aveda (lovely!) and the decor of the rooms is really modern. There was a wedding reception taking place on the second floor open area which was quite noisy in the lobby on Saturday night, but our room was nice and quiet.
The rooms with two queen beds have windows on two walls and are spacious compared to others in the hotel. I have knocked off a rating point on the rooms because the wooden bed frames stick out and easily bruise legs unless you are on your guard. Otherwise everything was fine, although the ceiling decor might not be to everyones taste! The location is great for using the subway. I personally wish there was a breakfast buffet available, but there are many options along the street for breakfast. I would definitely stay here again for NYC visits.
By far one of the worst hotel stays we have ever experienced. We had just arrived from driving over ten hours and there was no parking anywhere and the front desk worker was not helpful at all. When we got to our room, it had a bad smell, it was warm and the thermostat was off and not turning on. We let the front desk know but nothing was done, we were exhausted and just went to bed. The room was just like a sauna. After taking a shower we noticed the water running from under the bathroom wall into where our bed was. There was a huge puddle of water that wet our luggage and it was so hot in our room we called the front desk again. A man came up, looked in the shower and then checked out the thermostat and said the air conditioning was broken in our room. He told us to call the front desk. We will never stay at this property again.
Location was great and room was quiet. The roomI had was super small, about the size of a freight elevator and was designed in what I imagine would be called “early tacky” and there was cigarette burns on the drapes in my room. Staff was efficient but needs more training on what customer service is. If you’ve always wondered what it would be like to stay in a place designed my the mob bosses mistress then check this out.
The receptionists Breun and Shakira were very friendly. The hotel staff greeted us with a glass of champagne and a nice welcome gift. The supervisor Sue was superb. She gifted me with a cheesecake from Juniors on behalf of her and the hotel staff for my birthday. I loved the staff. They were friendly and down to earth. I would highly recommend. The hotel is located in Downtown Brooklyn, making it accessible to all of the amazing attractions that Brooklyn has to offer.
This hotel delivered exactly what it promised, no more and no less. The room was very small, though clean and well maintained. The big-screen TV was well positioned at the foot of the bed. The location was close to the subway and other local attractions. The hotel was cheaper than other local options and Id stay here again if I were spending most of the day elsewhere. It was a pleasant place to return in the evenings after a long day at a conference.
I love coming to Hotel Indigo in Brooklyn. The hotel is conveniently located to things in walking distance and to subways to get around the city. Everything is always clean and I love the design of the hotel and the rooms. But the staff is what really what sets this hotel apart from any other. Naomi, Sue and Nicole, just to name a few, provide exceptional customer service and experience. I travel several times a month for business, and also previously ran a spa at a 5 star hotel... no one holds a candle to the Indigo Brooklyn staff. They remember my name, which rooms I like, what amenities I like having in my rooom, and always make sure everything is to my liking. And when they are checking in on me and how my stay is, you can tell that they are genuine, and not just asking routinely. They truly care about their guests. Because of the amazing staff at Indigo Brooklyn, it is the only hotel I will ever stay at in NYC... I get excited every time I am going there, and feel like I am seeing friends when I enter the hotel. That is just amazing!!
I stayed at the Hotel Indigo for the first time this past weekend. It was also my first visit to Brooklyn. From the minute I walked into the lobby, until check-out, I was impressed and happy that Id chosen this hotel. The front staff is professional, kind and helpful. The decor is elegant, yet comfortably welcoming. The Brooklyn Brewery is part of the lower level of the hotel, which is nice to have a comfortable restaurant/bar just an elevator away. The Brooklyn Brewery makes the 1 free pizza to order (check out the amenities as guests can receive one as part of their stay). The pizza is fantastic.I liked the layout of the floor I stayed on - eight rooms total, 4 facing east and 4 facing west. Some guests might find it small, which yes it might be compared to standard hotel set-ups. I found it to be functional, cozy and perfectly suited to the New York way of life.I liked the design of the room - nice natural wood and a simple yet very elegant flair, storage drawers at the food of the bed, a desk, fridge, compact closet, safe, iron, mini ironing board, coffee pot with Keurig-style coffee cups, iPod dock/radio, 2 phones, a hairdryer, lots of plush towels of all sizes, lovely light fixtures (including 2 reading lights, 1 on each side of the headboard), a stand-up shower with hose attachment, and.... the icing on the cake since Im a toiletry addict: Aveda brand shampoo/conditioner/soap/moisturizer. (I cant ask for a better quality toiletry in a hotel room than Aveda.)The bed and pillows were soft and comfortable - I slept through the whole night (which for some might not be easy when youre not at home).I had such a nice stay at the Hotel Indigo that Im very much looking forward to my next visit to NYC/Brooklyn - I have already made up my mind that I wont stay anywhere else!!
Small rooms...air conditioning that does not work. Rooms so poorly insulated could hear dog barking on the floor we originally were put on. They moved us but still room is small and hot had to deal with outdoor noise to cool off in March. Strange holes in walls and what looks like water damage in places. Noticed a glass in hallway that was there for the entire time we were at the hotel.
From the moment the front desk staff greeted us I knew that we were in for a treat. This hotel has a vibrant atmosphere; the lobby seemed to be filled with excited young guests, eager to experience New York. Our room was cozy and romantic with an impressive view of the city. Everyone at the front desk was nice; they repeatedly started warm conversations as we passed by asking about our trip. They also shared great local suggestions for dining and drinks.
We had a good stay here and had great service from the staff. The staff is friendly and remembers your name when you come and go. The neighborhood is downtown Brooklyn and it is easy to walk. There are not a lot of restaurants close to this location but there is a lot of shopping. The beds were comfortable, however we found the room to be small. The entry of the hotel is not well marked and it is easy to miss if you are not looking above you to find the sign a couple of floors from ground level.
Room was smaller than expected, construction was going on at the moment so always woke up to that. Housekeeping was great. Ordered room service but had to cancel because they took so long (they said 20 mins I waited over an hour). But it was nice having a restaurant in the hotel that I could go to.Overall, it wasnt too bad but Ill probably try another hotel next time.
1. The room was tiny. My wife stubbed her toe on the bed because it took up almost the entire space.2. Our balcony was a mess of construction and scaffolding.3. The HVAC was loud and constantly turned off and on. The controls are odd - if you turned the air up the heat came on.4. The bedding was thin and unsubstantial. I had a hard time getting comfortable and slept poorly.5. Not a big deal but there were a lot of chipped surfaces on the furniture. It just added a shabbiness.6. The lobby was tiny. There was no place to hang out.
Upon arrival, my wife and I were excited about spending the evening at this location. However, we were quite disappointed with the outside appearance of the place. ALOT of construction going on which made finding a place to park very challenging. Also, the lobby, while being very modern, was quite cramped. Rooms were very nice, but I must say that we had difficulty sleeping due to the poor A/C that was in the room. No matter what setting we had the thermostat at, it would not get cool. A big positive is the brewhouse restaurant attached to the hotel. Very nice! Overall, a bit disappointing, but wed consider staying again.
I gotta be honest and say I was a little disappointed. I had read great reviews but my experience wasnt quite the same. It is a cute hotel, great location, had a pretty sweet rooftop terrace but...... I had to wait for a clean room but when I got into my room it wasnt clean. It was also very cozy(tiny), I have no idea how more than 1 person with luggage would be able to manuever in there. The shower was good, especially for a tall person. The other thing I have to say is the fan was sooo loud it kept me up. I literally had to turn some music on and sleep with my headphones on all night. The staff was friendly but Well, I was left waiting for well over an hour ( & never got the extra blanket i had asked for) when I called the front desk. I really wanted to like this place but i am a little thrown off by this hotel. It seems as though attention to detail is lacking... especially for a hotel rated the way they are.
My experience at Hotel Indigo Brooklyn was incredibly enjoyable. Check in and check out were as easy as it can be. I booked a guest room and was placed on the 17th floor. The lobby is on the smaller side and shares its bathrooms with the restaurant/bar next door which I found a little odd. The room itself was very clean and had everything we needed for our stay. The views of Brooklyn really are great and the hotel is located near several train stations that can get you pretty much anywhere you need to go. There are lines directly to Penn Station which was appealing to me. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. I would recommend this hotel and consider staying here again in the future.

2022-02-14I would HIGHLY DISCOURAGE anyone from staying at this hotel. I booked this hotel for two nights while in Brooklyn attending events. It was the worst hotel experience I have ever had and I have stayed in hostels in third-world countries. This place did not run at all like a hotel. The front desk staff were not very customer oriented (I dont blame them, I can only imagine that they are inundated with customer complaints due to the horrendous accommodations). The staff seemed more like security guards watching over the lobby area, rather than concerned about whether customer needs were being met. The common areas look as if they were nice once upon a time, but have not been maintained in years. I booked a suite which was on the top floor and only one of the two elevators went to that floor (we learned this by getting on the elevator and it not moving, there was no signage to inform of this issue). We arrived late Friday night and once inside the room we observed food particles under the couch, the shower head was not functioning and my husband and I had to take turns holding it while the other person showered. The next morning we asked for fresh bed linen and while changing the linen ourselves we observed that there was a large stain on the mattress. The suite had a separate area where the bed was and none of the outlets worked in that room and half of the lights did not work. The room phone did not work either, we could not contact the front desk or use it for any purpose. We asked to switch rooms and was told that we could not but that someone in engineering would fix the issues which did not happen. The next day we observed other guests in the common areas some of which made us a bit uncomfortable. I then did some research and observed articles that mentioned this was a hotel that operated as a temporary homeless shelter during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. From my observation it appears it still houses those in need of shelter. In summary, we paid over $300 a night for a 2-night stay but my husband and I checked out after 1 night because the conditions were just deplorable. It is pretty clear that management does not care about this facility or the customer experience. There are many other hotel options in similar price ranges that actually operate as hotels and would provide a better customer experience. Do yourself a favor a book one of them.

2022-02-19Rooms were way to small with bad lighting. It took housekeeping 3 days to finally clean my room. There was also no food/drinks available at the hotel. Parking was also a challenge. The hotel should at least have a parking garage and an open restaurant for guest. I do not recommend this hotel, I will not be going back.

2022-03-22Shower door didn’t close. Was told that someone would fix it. Wasn’t even looked at. I bought a package That included breakfast for 2. Was told by the restaurant that I would get vouchers to get my complimentary breakfast. I asked upfront and was told that they didn’t have those vouchers yet that they had just began doing that. They looked like they didn’t care about it so I was unable to order my complimentary breakfast for all 4 days I was there. Room was very dusty. Floors were not clean in the room. Also smelled like cigarettes. Was not told that I needed to ask for my room to be cleaned. It would’ve been nice if I were told when I checked In. Overall bad experience.

2022-04-29The hotel indigo sent us to a different hotel across the street because our room was un able to be stayed in (even though we booked this room months in advance). The hotel we were sent to gave us an unfinished room with amenities we had to buy, poor service from the staff and an overall poor experience. We will not be recommending or staying at the hotel indigo anytime in the future.

2022-02-28Pros: Comfortable bed and good room layout. Cons: Poor communication, front desk is hit or miss on resolving issues, especially in evening, no follow through on corrections, and a massive stay problem.I like the Indigo brand have an enjoyed staying at other locations. However, this trip was a DISASTER. I specifically was staying last minute for a business reason that required internet. Internet was down on the morning. I had to rearrange meetings and ended up staying a second day well before checkout to deal with this. That process was complicated by lack of internet in their systems. Then , when I returned to the hotel that evening all of my possessions were missing from my room. ALL OF THEM. Including are personal items, toiletries, and food I had in the room to avoid having to spend time after returning to find a meal. So there was lost cost (I had to replace all my personal items and buy another meal), and the 3 hours of lost time rectifying the issue. Front desk staff had no solutions for me. Eventually the solution of a comped room service meal was reached - but they did not even know if the hotel restaurant was open or not (it was not...it opens for business this week). They also agreed to resduce the room charge for the cost.... that was not on my bill. I was told it would be refunded. It has been 5 business days - no refund. I just had to spend another hour on that. Service is just not up to level I expect for Indigo. Also, minor issues - the hotel website is NOT CORRECT. No restaurant/room service when I was there. Specific brand toiletries were NOT provided, and no one has a bar of soap.

2022-03-06Do not go!!! Very rude staff. Had no sympathy that my wallet was stolen, Im from another state and had to use my digital wallet to get around.. refused to take my card on file without the card in my hand.. I explained my wallet was stolen and here is my digital wallet which shows alllllllll information needed to use... had to use a temporary debit card for the $100 deposit... what the hell was the deposit for? The hotel didnt have an open Cafe or bar or anything. What was I going to do? Oh maybe add to the scratches, stains, and smell?? This is before I get to my TINY room. The desk was the size of the coffee pot ( no coffee to make) ... the windows didnt shut all the way and had a major draft .. room was on a high floor so in the night when it rained all the water came in the room.. the bathroom ceiling was peeling and sorta repaired(neve seen someone screw in shower tile) .. the next morning we realize the toilet paper til had like 3 squares on it. We call down to the front desk to ask for more TP and some coffee pods.... 1 hour later and 3 more calls to the front desk I ended up going downstairs and stood in the lobby to get it... the floor was dirty and sticky, under the bed was DISGUSTING with old food and trash. Checked out and moved hotels .. very disappointing... I travel often and Indigo is usually a nice place..And reading the review about the hotel being a shelter explains the folks seen in the lobby and elevator...Stay away! Oh and my much much much better hotel had no issues taking my digital wallet.

2022-01-30My stay was not great. The phone in the room was disconnected so you could not call anyone including the front desk,TV barley worked, random old socks under the bed that did not belong to us. No coffee even though there is a coffee maker, no housekeeping even though we stayed two nights. There was a lot of noise overall.I wanted to leave really bad but was unfortunately stuck.

2022-03-01Problems with room heating made sleep difficult, shabby appearance and lots of cosmetic damage to common areas, generally not a very welcoming hotel. Staff were nice, though.

2022-04-14We had a reservation for about a month at this location. However we just showed up and were told they didnt have any rooms. We were told they had a reservation for us across the street at a Sheraton. We were not told up front. Nothing was offered to us, we were just sent on our way. This is our second bad experience with hotel indigo, albeit this is the worst experience.

2022-06-10This is no longer a hotel. It’s a homeless shelter. Do not book a stay here. We were greeted by security who told us the hotel was closed. How they can even let you still book a reservation and confirm is beyond me.
