I would avoid this hotel at all costs. I never write reviews, but felt compelled after my stay to help people stay away from here. My wife and I stay in NYC frequently and this has been the worst hotel weve stayed at in the city. The staff were extremely rude during our stay and prioritized their club/bar guests over those guests staying at the hotel. We were turned away at the bar in the middle of the afternoon and told there was a $50 minimum for drinks. We eventually were let in after talking with 3 different staff members and discovered there was no $50 minimum. The cleaning staff left a full bag of trash in our room. We notified the front desk and they did nothing. We had to throw it out ourselves. They also charge you a ridiculous $25 a day amenities fee that is very subtle in the contract. LOOK BEFORE YOU SIGN. The staff did nothing to rectify any of the problems we brought up. There are many far better hotels nearby. Dont make my mistake and waste your time and money here. They dont deserve it.
I stayed here once before and was super impressed with everything. That was before COVID. Obviously, the pandemic makes things more difficult but the team executed well. There was a team member I think her name was Anissa. When I first arrived she accommodated getting me right in, then I cut myself on the keurig right away and she had band aids ran up to immediately. Which was awesome. The cleaning staff was always willing to work around me and my work schedule.Overall, it was fantastic and I will be a loyal client from this point on. The only gripe I had is that there was no breakfast at all or service for food, this was cited as a COVID issue. I think at least offering a protein bar or fruit complimentary would be convenient and helpful
Images of rooftop and pool are deceptive. This is a separate bar that is more of a trashy club with very loud music on till 4am. Whenever we tried to access the rooftop or pool it was closed for a private party. We tried to access it on 4 different days and were denied on each occasion which left us feeling conned as this was part of the reason we chose Hotel Indigo. The rooms are OK but needed a lick of fresh paint in places. Large flashing LED on smoke alarm annoying. There are basically no hotel amenities at all, if you’re looking for a basic room in good LES location it’s an OK choice. Don’t expect access to the pool and make sure you aren’t near the club !!
Top notch staff and comfortable beds, great location and nice views from rooms. Hardwood floors in the rooms are nice, and the shower is fun although desperately in need of re-tiling. Otherwise the rooms feel worn at the edges and not terribly luxurious for the price point. At the bare minimum some comfortable furniture, a soaking tub, and windows that open would be nice at these rates.
We stayed at hotel indigo for 4 nights at the end of May/ June. The location is great, the hotel is completely average. The bar is insanely loud, and quite trashy. It’s also not part of the hotel so if they have a event on you can’t go up to the roof top or use the pool. Rooms are old, dirt on the walls just quite grubby. We had a monstrous ice machine outside our room that was loudly used all night. If we didn’t have the air con on we’d of heard the aforementioned club upstairs too.If you stay out late this place is fine. But I think for the price & the photos they’ve got online, it’s not worth it…
This was our first time in New York. The wife and I stayed here for four nights. We were greeted with a smile and asked what brought us back. When I responded with this was our first time in NY he could not believe it. He then said we needed a room with a great view of the city. He then asked if we were light sleepers. (I knew where this was going with the previous review on here). I said yes and he said there was a club called Mr. Purple that has loud music so he knew which floor to put us on now. We ended up on 12th floor with an amazing view of downtown and uptown. The room was clean and quiet in the evening. When coming back from exploring the city in the evening there was a line out the back door for Mr. Purple. All we did was show the doorman our room key and we were ushered right passed everybody with no hassle. All of the employees were very friendly and courteous. Great restaurants and nightlife all within walking distance. The subway is only a block away as well. Also there is a great coffee shop right out the front door across the street. We will definitely be staying here again when we come back to New York. Well done Hotel Indigo!
This was a good location as I was visiting friends and family in the area. Great restaurants nearby and within walking distance from lots of places I wanted to visit in NYC. Room was clean and well kept. Enough space in room and bathroom, well designed closets to put everything away, comfortable desk and seating area in room. Loved the heated bathroom floor. The coffee maker in the room was not working and there wasn’t any good tea or coffee provided in the room. Also there wasn’t any creamer or sweetener provided either.
Had a Great experience. Staff was amazing. T, Zed, and the rest of the staff made this stay very comfortable and memorable. Hotel was fully booked and Im sure the team is short staffed but they were very accessible for all our needs. Clean rooms, artistic lobby, and great people cant ask for more than that.
Very nice hotel with very good customer service. There is a constant flow of traffic for the 15th floor bar but the left elevator seemed to be saved for guest and workers. I was on a high floor and the music can be heard all day. But for my needs and weekend getaway, this hotel was awesome with incredible views of the city.
There was NO hot water in the two days we stayed there. They are short staffed, we waited forever at check in even though there was no one in line. The receptionist was on the phone while trying to check us in. The iron didnt work but when we asked for a new one they couldnt give us one because the manager left and took the key to the storage room with him so we had to wait until his highness is back from lunch. Only good thing is it gives you faster access to the rooftop bar which honestly is overrated. First and last time staying there.
Nice hotel with some quirks.- Rooms are nice and clean. Comfortable bed.- Friendly staff.- Neither USB charging outlet next to the bed were working.- Mini bar in the room that included non-alcoholic beverages. There is an effective cap of 2 sodas or water bottles per day included with the room. But here is the catch -- the water bottles were never replenished during my stay. And there were a total of 3 to start with. Not so great.- Lots of places to eat within a couple of blocks.
The hotel itself is fine. Staff was always friendly I didn’t find any problems like other reviewers did. Their room service “isn’t available due to Covid” but their bar /club is open and in full swing. LOL. The menu you can order from the club and take to your room could use some love, it’s pretty basic and $$$. My other reason for only 2 stars is DOUBLE CHECK your bill. Mine was charged at least $80 extra and it’s been almost 2 weeks and still can’t get a hold of any manager to help me. Also I was charged small amounts for a “bar restocking fee” daily even though the bar was never restocked and I stayed there for almost a week.Edited: finally got a hold of someone and was refunded my money. Added one star.
Hotel smelt strongly of cannabis most days. Reception staff indifferent - rarely raising their heads with a greeting. Posted a late charge of over $100 to my c/card despite using none of the facilities, it was refunded but without an apology! Room was lovely and very clean. Surrounding area very edgy - especially at night, a task to avoid local drunks and drug deals!
Staff was nice and helpful, room wasn’t great for the price. Front desk tried to tell us they set us up with a high-floor room with a good view, which wasn’t true as we were on the 7th floor and had a view of the street and another hotel. The room wasn’t very clean, sticky stains on one of the bedside tables and dirty, worn walls. Not worth the price for the quality of the room, but it’s a great location and New York is always expensive.
Great location surrounded by restaurants and lots of atmosphere. Expensive place but we used an Anniversary Night coupon with IHG. False advertising in that all web sites about this hotel boast of outdoor pool for guests. When I called to book the room, I asked about that pool and was informed it would be still open. However, the reality is that pool is not owned by the hotel, and is off limits to hotel guests on weekends. I learned this the day before arriving when I double checked before packing a swim suit. The manager offered my on check in a pool pass, but by then I had left my swim suit at home. This fancy hotel needs to stop false advertising about that outdoor pool. The room came with spacious modern bathroom. The night sleep repeated interrupted by late comers as the room has hard wood floors, there are large gaps all around the front door to the room, and the hall way carpet is simple and not cushy. Sounded like a college dorm hallway. Would not stay here if important for you to have a quiet night. Not for families hoping to let their children burn off energy in the off limits pool on weekends either. Clean room apart from stains on area rug.
Overall a decent experience, but some lack of attention to detail is quite apparent.Rooms: shower water pressure is so-so, hot water is not so hot during peak times. A bit of mold on the shower head. Shower drain clogged somewhat so by the end of showering there would be a few inches of water in the shower which would take a very long time to drain. On the opening part of the window, the seal was not completely tight, so on a very windy day there was some annoying wind noise. The safe in the room had a low batteryindicator, so I decided it wasnt worth the potential hassle to use it.Spurious minibar charges when I accidentally disturbed items while retrieving others.Service at the check-in desk was pleasant and efficient, same for maid service.
The staff was very nice. The lobby appears less inviting than usual, but then its a matter of taste...The room was spacious enough with a very nice view. The furnishings and the bathroom were closer to basic than to what I saw in other Indigo hotels. The location is convenient.Based on the IHG website price it appears appears as the hotel may be a bit overpriced compared to the value of a stay there.
Nearly thirty minutes to check into a 200$ room is inexcusable. Sat and waited over 20 minutes before asking if another person could work the front desk to assist us. Was informed by gentleman packing a car that there are usually 3 hosts. Apparently this location is usually well managed? This delay made my date and I late for my dinner plans.Horrible experience. Will not return.
I liked the central location of the hotel/ I missed having a restaurant in the hotel, but so much food around the neighborhood. Ludlow coffee across the street made it possible to have a good morning experience. The Keurig coffee maker just doesnt cut it. Nice 12:00 check out that was extended to late check out was nice.
The rooftop lounge was beautiful and clean. The music sucks so bad. They pretty much plays the same instrumental sound all night which eventually gives a headache. The women restroom line is super long. The outside bar closed so early with the amount of people that was there it should not have. Overall experience is a 3 out of 5. I would only recommend of you just want to drink and longe around. I would not go back.
This hotel was clean, warm, inviting, and the room was good sized. Bed was super comfortable. Staff was very friendly. Rooftop bar is lovely. And room was Very quiet for sleeping couldn’t hear any noise in my room. Definitely recommend! I had an absolutely miserable, horrible 4 night stay at Sixty LES and thus moved hotels for my last night. One night at Hotel Indigo was such a better stay I wish I had switched hotels earlier. Def will be coming back to this hotel.
I like this hotel, staff is kind although I don’t like that I can’t check In Directly, that’s my biggest complaint. I also do t like being charged for Anne iTunes when I didn’t get to use them. It would be nice to have coffee or water bottles. I like the tooS and bathrooms, very clean and comfortable. Overall I really like this hotel and it’s location. Great staff and I like the rooftop , even if it was closed off. I enjoy it when I have access
I chose this property because of its location and really cool-looking design, all of which were exactly as I expected. It was the staff that really made this a 5-star review. From the minute we checked in until we checked out, the staff was friendly, welcoming, and extremely helpful. I was actually thanked for being a Platinum Elite member - nice touch. We had such a full schedule that we didnt get a chance to use the rooftop bar, but we did check it out, so when we come back (and we will come back), well make sure to find time to explore the rooftop and the pool. This is a great hotel staffed by great people. You wont be disappointed.
I enjoyed the location and convenience, but all of the amenities listed in the room description were not made available and the snacks at the minibar werent replenished. I was allowed a late checkout and they checked my bags so I could have a few drinks down the street until it was time to head to the airport. Overall, friendly staff, clean, and Id stay again.
Location was great! Surrounded by lots of restaurants, bars and nightlife. If you are planning on retiring early and are a light sleeper, then maybe this is not the place for you, since weekend nights were pretty noisy from our 10th floor room. But it was perfect for us, since this was exactly what we wanted! The hotel’s rooftop bar, Mr. Purple, was very beautiful with amazing views and great music! We had so much fun there! Staff was very nice and accommodating and even scheduled a taxi to return us to the airport on the day of our departure. The rooms are nice. Nothing exceptional and kind of plain, but they were very clean and the king size bed we got upgraded to was super comfortable! Perfect after all day walks and nights out in the town!
This is an interesting place - really nice staff and great, clean hotel in the city.1. DO NOT PARK in the lot they recommend in the listing on IHG.com. They charged us an entire extra day for checking out late (12 minutes over 24 hours of parking). The cost was astronomical and ruined our departure; still waiting for the GM of the hotel to call me as promised. The property should at least link the policies of the parking garage company in the listing so guests can know what they are getting into.2. The rooftop and pool are not accessible except via admittance to the 15th floor restaurant. We do not have a vaccine card and we told to leave the rooftop until we could produce one. We then went to the 14th floor lobby for drinks and were aggressively asked for our room key by a floating employee of the hotel. He did so in a way where I was nervous that he actually worked for the hotel at all.Im a Spire member with the brand and have been so since 2014. Get your act together! Front desk was amazingly warm and helpful, but the above negatives were not welcomed in our stay experience.
Service was rude, the receptionist I checked in was was rude until she realized I was of age and the room I booked. The receptionist when I checked out was nice but forgot to let me know I would be charged ahead of time for my room then charged twice since I put it on debit card. The room and hotel were clean and nice but it would’ve been nice to know I would be doubled charge for a deposit. It also doesn’t make it better they acted like I was bothering them (for example:asking for a bottle of water) :) your guest should not ask how you’re doing first for future reference :))) I work in the service industry and know these things. It was honestly probably because I look young but I’m still paying the same prices therefore should get good service like everyone else. I will be staying somewhere else next time. Very disappointed especially since I came here to celebrate my birthday.
DONT stay here if you come over for a quite good night sleep!!! My room was on the 17th floor, the music and screaming noise from the 15th bar floor was freaking loud and it stayed up until 3:00am. I can feel my room was shaking because of the bass. This hotel is only suitable for the customers who love nightlife.
Clean, quiet and pet friendly! Staff was always friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean, pretty spacious for NYC standards and quiet. Not too much noise from other rooms or the hallways. Elevators were always fast and not crowded. Location is incredible- in the heart of the LES, around the corner from Katz’s, Russ and Daughters, lots of bodegas, a CVS. Short walk to Little Italy, Chinatown, Soho. Some of the best and most fun neighborhoods in the city. Easy to get anywhere whether by foot, car or train.Definitely will stay again and would recommend to anybody.Edited to add: pet fee is $75/night. A bit steep, so something to keep in mind. I think we would still stay here along with our pup in the future though.
Ive been a Hotel Indigo fan since I booked a penthouse at the one in Asheville, for a sixteen year olds party. (Now shes 28).Our visit to this Hotel Indigo went off without a hitch. Parking, though a separate cost, was convenient. The area is as fun and funky as Soho can be. The unique apparel shops mixed in with the CBD shops (I do not like those but...), great restaurants with all types of cuisine and price range. The staff was always helpful and polite. Anthony at the front desk even walked us to the taxi stand at the corner to get a cab when we were running late for a Broadway show.My room was clean and though I had not much view, it was nice to have a a terrace. Hotel Indigos Style is very modern, and good use of space. I think they are spreading people out throughout the hotel due to covid, which is not a problem in New York right now. As a matter of fact, all restaurants checked for vaccination, and Hotel Indigo is particularly good about mask wearing. We got a late checkout, because New York doesnt get started until 12:00pm.In sum, this is a moderately priced hotel that is good for anyone open to the East Village area. Its not Bleeker Street, and its not close to 42nd St, but it is not hard to get to the shows either. I would stay here again.
My husband and I enjoyed our stay. The housekeeping staff was very friendly and the room was clean. Bed was comfortable. We asked for more pillows and they happily and immediately provided them. The only thing that was missing was a mini fridge for all of our delicious leftovers from Katz down the street.
We stayed on the 24th floor and had an awesome view of Lower Manhattan. Room was good size and have to mention the view again. Nice stay for sure. We didnt know the pool is not for use on weekends as its a private pool/bar. We did use the pool on Monday afternoon and it was really nice - super small pool, maybe a really large tub but view was nice. The weekend and the private bar (Purple bar) were absolutely crazy with young folks and noise and the elevators sometimes were packed with those folks. Private bar is on the 15th floor and right from the start, we knew it was too loud and packed for us to visit but many many people seemed to like it. Besides the Purple bar, we really liked Hotel Indigo and the staff was friendly and helpful and the view was AWESOME. Thanks. John
Positive: The size of the room and bathroom. The comfort of the bed. Negative: We were in 1605 which is directly above the club which stays open until 2a on weekends and 1a during the week. They volume is so loud that you can hear it in your room and the base is at such a level that our bed was vibrating.
The worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Our first room was too loud as the window was broken and would not shut all the way. The manager offered us a new room so we accepted. When we arrived in the new room there was a man leaving spraying a scent. When we questioned the manager he said it was a scent they use in some of the room. We thought it was weird but didn’t inquire further. 30 minutes later the floral smell subsided we realised why they had sprayed. Our room stank of cigarettes! When we complained the manager then told us he didn’t have any other comparable rooms. And that our previous (loud) room had already been given to another guest. We asked for a refund but because we paid with points from our chase cards they said it was not possible. We simply booked an Uber to Public and surrendered our Indigo reservation. DO NOT STAY HERE! The small Asian male manager with glasses was so rude and curt.
The restaurant is called Tre, and its lovely. The food is delicious, although could be alittle better, depending on your taste. The drinks are definitely very good. Quiet yet strong, covering all the bases on how youd like your drinks prepared for brunch. The service is decent, and the host are good.
Location is great, the staff was rude. We also had construction on going outside our room and also in the upstairs lobby so it felt impossible to relax in our room or go anywhere where that wasn’t noise. We couldn’t sleep in past 8:30am due to the construction. The staff never actually acknowledged the construction or told us it would be happening.
We stayed for three nights on the 20th floor this past weekend. The linens and pillows were premium and the small room was well appointed. However, the bass noise/vibrations from the club on Friday and Saturday nights club kept us up later than we wanted. Upon check-in the $25 resort fee was noted, but the staff emphasized that a portion could be used on minibar items. We took 2 sodas and two candy bars the first day, however the minibar was never resupplied the two subsequent days we were there so there was nothing else to offset the charge. Also the website stated the resort fee included a daily bike rental, but we were told that option had been eliminated. So what is the resort fee for recreationally?
Terrible experience! After booking and paying in advance for the room, we arrived at the hotel to find our room had been given away. This was very inconvenient as we had just completed a move across town and were relying on the location of this hotel to complete the move the next day. We are provided with an alternative hotel in midtown which was exactly were didnt want to be and the quality of the hotel was not equivalent (however the staff was much better!). We werent even noticed that the room was no longer available until we had arrived.Overall, very disappointed with the service and the inadequate attempt to make things right.
I was really impressed by this hotel. Beautiful room, easily accessible to restaurants and the subway, and great customer service. There was some construction going on somewhere nearby (couldn’t tell if it was street level or in the hotel) very early one morning that disturbed my sleep, but other than that, I had a great time and would stay here again.
SCAM ALAERT hotel (read below)Trashy. The staff is very rude. Very noisy. At night the rooftop crowd has preference in the elevator queues ahead of the hotel guests. They charge fees in advance and then charge you hidden fees at check out. They don’t refill the minibar unless you chase them even though they pre-charge you for it.SCAM hotel.
I was expecting more given the area and price tag. Instead it felt like I was staying in a seedy nightclub. Nosie until 3am. Really uncomfortable bed. Thin sheets. Dated furniture - worst of all was the smell of the room which I can only describe as stale cheese.Stay here if youre looking for a very cheap room where youll spend no time. Dont stay here for a relaxing nights sleep.
Worst, most hostile hotel I’ve ever seen. Not only does it have a club upstairs with drunk underage kids running around everywhere, but the management is hostile towards everyone who walks in at night. I’ve witnessed aggression and threats for not having my room key. Filing a lawsuit in the meantime for the harassment I got for trying to enter my room, but I recommend you stay away from this place. Hostile miserable people.
On the recommendation of a friend, Hotel Indigo was home base for our family for 5 days while looking for an apartment for our daughter in Greenwich Village & East Village. The location was ideal with taxi area at corner of Houston/Ludlow, subway that has direct F line to LaGuardia, and a bus that runs E-W on Houston and N/S on 2nd Ave. (We tried them all!). Katz Deli (Pastrami and cheese blintzes) and Heavens Hot Bagels are a short walk. The actual hotel room and bathroom were nicely appointed, clean and provided a beautiful view from our SE facing corner room! Bed was very comfortable and we did not ever hear noise from another guest room. The air conditioner was excellent and water pressure with shower very refreshing. Maid service was offered daily and was attentive and thorough when requested, and unobtrusive when we left our do not disturb sign out.Mr. Purple (nightclub) provided a fun people watching experience with tasty bar food and fun cocktails when we ventured up at night. There is an expansive view from the roof top patio and pool area.....and a lovely lobby on the floor below. The best part of our stay was THE STAFF!! OMG - the nicest people. They worked cooperatively to check in - check out guests (always requested ID) and there was always someone at the door to help keep the flow in and out of the lobby and ensure masks were worn in public areas. In the evenings they were very attentive to guests going to and from Mr. Purple and did not interfere with our family being able to move quickly to elevators upon our arrival. With NYC regulations the business center remained closed, however, the staff did not miss a beat and printed multiple documents to ensure our application process went smoothly. Hats off to this team. We look forward to our next visits!
I have the highest status this brand has to offer for their elite members you can receive. First, in my preference, it listed high floor and away from the elevator the thing the guy at the front desk did first was put me low floor in room right front the elevator. Then I went down to have the room changed its an issue. Stay tune!
Checked in yesterday with one request - a quiet room. We’re in a Deluxe Corner King - $600 plus. Last night, the noise and music from the rooftop bar on 15 was so loud there were items in our room shaking. Past 2am. Went downstairs to talk to the front desk this morning. Was offered a waive of the $25 daily amenity fee (which had already been waived). DO NOT STAY HERE unless you plan to be at the rooftop bar till 2am.
One of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had in a while. It was in the 20s outside, and the room never got above 64 degrees, which made sleep miserable. The shower was cold, and the handle kept falling off. The floors were dirty in the room. It was my wife and I’s 2-year engagement anniversary, and I called 2 weeks in advance and asked to upgrade to either a room with a bath or an upper floor with a good view. I even offered points or to pay whatever needed. They assured me it would happen. We arrived and had a one tier upgrade to a room with no tub, and not much of a view at all. After checking the website, and seeing that they had multiple rooms on higher floors and a couple of suites left, I went to the lobby and asked once again if there were any way I could get a room of my preference, again offering points or money. I was told they had no other rooms available, and I had their only room that was left. Yet, the app told a different story, idk, maybe it the app was lagging.. still very frustrating. I then called asking for a late checkout, and they only offered me 30 minutes, and finally settled on an hour. I was locked out of my room 30 min before it was check out time, and told by front desk I was supposed to be out by now. Apparently they made no note of the late check out. Also, their in room snack bar prices are insane. I’ve stayed at multiple IHG hotels in New York and have never paid $8 for a bottle of water. In fact, I always get water for free because of my elite status. I am spire elite with IHG, but apparently loyalty means nothing to this hotel. What a way to ruin an anniversary trip. My wife and I will never be staying here again.
The room was amazing. We had a standard room and the King Suite with the balcony. The views from both rooms were amazing. The bed was comfortable, and the staff delivers extra blankets, pillows, tooth brushes, and even ice to the room if you request it. The staff is great! I saw them being so kind and patient to the most difficult, bridezilla guests that was yelling at the staff and even other guests. The patience your staff needed to have to deal with that situation multiple times through out the day from that same party shows that your staff goes way above and beyond. Give them a raise please!
We decided to stay here for my husbands birthday celebration. It was like a staycation and (kind of) a mini-honeymoon in the city. The location, cleanliness, and most of all the wonderful hospitality from the staff were one of the best things during our stay. When I inquired about a room change, they were very accommodating and so quick to take action. The pool area was also clean and we had such a relaxing time there. The gym was also kept in order and had all the cleaning supplies provided for safety measures. They communicated all the amenities included in our stay and addressed all our inquiries in such a professional manner. What we loved most about our stay was our room. It was so clean, the bathroom had this amazing rain shower, and most of all the city views were amazing!!! It was EXACTLY how we imagined it would be. The moment we checked in and up until check out, every interaction we had with the staff was so pleasant. We honestly loved every single thing about our stay at Hotel Indigo LES. Thank you to the team members who made our stay so special, we will definitely be coming back!
I went to the hotel’s bar Mr. Purple this evening. It’s very cold outside, and my friend and I asked to wait in the lobby for our Uber home. The hotel staff was extremely rude and wouldn’t let us wait in the lobby for 10 minutes to wait for our ride. They repeatedly told us we had to leave and couldn’t wait in the lobby, even though the lobby was empty. I am very disappointed and frustrated with my experience in this hotel and I will never be coming back here again. It is disturbing how they treated us and forced us to wait outside even though we were paying customers.
Cool lobby on the 14th floor with nice unobstructed views of lower Manhattan where guests can work or relax. Rooms are ok for the price and location, good size but furnishing and maintenance could be better. Hotel staff is very rude especially at the reception, same for staff at the bar and security. Won’t stay here again.
The hotel is located in a very vivid neighborhood with many restraints, clubs, bars etc. within 10 minutes walk.We loves the design which connects you to the area and people around you.The room was spacious and cleen, quiet even at night, with a great view of the city. It has a rooftop bar which is very nice and always full of people. All in all we had a very good experience even though we’re not in our 20’s or 30’s :).The only thing that prevented from our experience to be great is the fact that after we left, My wife realized she forgot the necklace I gave her (which is very dear to her) in the room on the night table. She wrote an email to the hotel asking maybe they found it, but got no response until now.
Although the staff was friendly, the accommodations were poor given it was $450 for one night. The room could use some upgrades. The shower glass and artwork glass is broken, carpets and furniture worn, half the outlets dont function and the city view is an alley way. The noise is the worst of any hotel I have ever stayed in. I got no sleep or rest.
A week since checkout and I have still not had my security deposit back. I have incurred almost £50 of international call charges to get my money back. Time after time I have been told I will get it back but something has gone wrong and no one wants to take responsibility. Avoid and go somewhere else.
I stayed at Hotel Indigo for 5 nights in early June. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful, the room was large, nearly 300 sq ft, the bathroom was well-designed and everything was very clean. The value was excellent. The location was perfect for my plans. The Mr. Purple Club on the top floor was very popular, so I suggest asking for a room away from that section of the property. It has a great rooftop view which is a great spot for a drink before it gets crowded.
Pro’s: Great location, comfortable bed, big TV..Con’s: Very small and dark room, strong new furniture smell, dehumidifier above toilet leaked a large amount of water which covered the toilet seat and created a large puddle on the bathroom floor surrounding the toilet, drunk 20-somethings looking to party with their friend Dave repeatedly banged on the door of the room next to mine and tried to kick in the door several times at 4:00am, maintenance staff pounded on my door repeatedly the first evening when I was trying to rest and would not go away when I said I didn’t have any issues through the door (I had to open the door and confirm I didn’t call them), could not sync iPhone to TV, flashing smoke detector LED light and TV LED light made it difficult to sleep until I covered them with clothes.
For the past several years, the Hotel Indigo LES was our preferred NYC spot when we would visit several times a years. Great location/neighborhood for great food and easy access to Brooklyn and Subway stations. One of the crown jewels was the ability to utilize the pool as well as having a drink at Mr. Purple. Now, no longer - either you have a massive charge if you remember to make the reservation to visit the pool or the very rude and unfriendly Mr. Purple Staff will not even let you get a drink to take back to the bar. Honestly, just the ability to sit at the pool and have a mimosa was worth the visit - I would be wiling to pay for it.The staff at the hotel are extremely friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. They have my highest respects and regards. However, without even the most remote opportunity to utilize the pool (without having to pay $150-$200) - Hotel Indigo LES becomes just another hotel with outdated artwork. Also, please consider moving the Concierge and Check-In back to the 14th Floor - the view was always amazing.
We really enjoyed the character of the room and liked the neighborhood. We chose this hotel based on having a rooftop bar but it was difficult to make a reservation and was a bit too loud for our tastes. The staff was extremely helpful and the rooms were very clean. Overall we were very happy and would stay again
The only thing that was OK was the bed and the location, the pictures of the website are outdated, the room was not clean, parties every night which made it impossible to sleep at night. No restaurant so no breakfast and no room service. I would never stay there again!
We decided to book a quick trip to NY and this hotel was recommended by a friend. I was not disappointed! The photos of the hotel are true in person, very modern and cute. The room and bathroom were very clean, especially with hardwood floors, to COVID 19 standards. The hotel was in walking distance to all of the stores and restaurants we wanted to visit. Plus, their rooftop has amazing views of the city! I will definitely be a returning guest. Thanks for being part of a memorable trip.
The staff was great, even before the check-in date, and very friendly throughout my stay. However, I didnt pay attention to the fact I wasnt asked about my Welcome Gift this time and have been writing to the hotel for almost a week now, inquiring about my Welcome Bonus Points, but havent heard back since checkout. The hotel is in a good location, but the rooftop bar is extremely loud and my room was literally shaking a good part of the night. I get its NYC and that youre in the LES, but it was a bit too much.Still recommend it for the great location and friendly staff. Would stay there again.
This was my 3rd and longest (19 nights) stay at the Hotel.Ive really made the Indigo LES Home away from Home. Its been a challenging year but it feels like the Hotel was so professionally prepared - across the board. Id really like to point out Housekeeping. My room always felt clean and fresh and it felt particularly important during this time. Front Desk was extremely professional as well and made sure policies are enforced while still making you feel like your needs are being accommodated. Will definitely return again!
The hotel has been designed to look like it’s been there for a while and has design elements to match. The rooms are designed and furnished to reflect the aesthetic - a sort of haphazard, industrial look. Partly interesting and partly annoying. It’s still just a chain hotel albeit with wannabe hip furnishings. These were also starting to get a little tired-looking with chips in the bathroom floor, stains on the rug and nicks in the furniture. Speaking of furniture it would have been nice to have it less trendy and more substantial or at least more of it. There was one comfortable chair but plenty of room for another... Sort of cute at first glance but not much real comfort. Clean and functional - except the shower configuration was a little funky. My main pet peeve was that there were two coffee pods and one of them was highly flavored - not necessarily what you’d want first thing in the morning. Room was a bit on the small side but this IS Manhattan...
Hotel Indigo LES reflects the artsy and eclectic area surrounding it. The property is comfortable and clean, but there is always something little wrong with our room. Nothing that makes the stay bad, just some need for esthetic maintenance in the rooms. ie. mold around window, loose window that lets in a breeze, water damage on walls/ceiling. None of the small issues keep us away as the staff is nice and attentive and the cost is reasonable. The bathroom is always clean and the views never disappoint. We stay every 2-3 months and will continue doing so. Cant wait for the lobby to reopen; its the best space in the hotel!
My wife and I have stayed several times in the last few months and look forward to many more. Location is great - lots of restaurants in this area. F train stop a very short walk. Whole Foods and CVS close by as well as neighborhood grocery stores. The Staff are great and have taken the time to notify us when room is available. Our corner room on 24th floor had impressive views of lower Manhattan from the East River to the Hudson. Really looking forward to returning soon!
Arrival was rocky with front desk staff not terribly friendly. Resort fee to pay for credits in mini bar and for bike pass poorly explained. Bike passes were not available at check in but told by manager they would be right out. Never came and the one opportunity of our visit to use them was therefore wasted. Mini bar credit a joke. $15/day with $8 sodas and $14 tiny booze bottles. Bar also only half stocked. The hotel in general and the room were worn. Hotel bar requires reservation with $100/pp minimum Saturday and $75 Friday. Ridiculous. No preference or discount for guests. The bar is also loud and creates noise throughout the hotel late into the night. I was 5 floors away and could hear the noise. I like staying on the LES and usually stay at the Public but they were not available. I would not stay at this hotel again. Other than location I did not find much to like about this property.
I stay at this hotel when in NYC for its location. Its away from the tourist areas, yet it is accessible by subway and bus service to both the east and west sides of Manhattan. It is also very near great food I cannot get at home in Asia. I was a bit disappointed in the room assigned. I had originally booked a queen deluxe room, because my husband and I prefer queen to king. I was offered an upgrade in room due to my IHG Platinum status, and noted to the reception staff that we preferred the queen size bed, but our upgrade was to a king deluxe, which is basically the same room with a bigger bed yielding less usable floor space, so obviously, the staff who checked us in did not listen to what I told him regarding the queen bed. There was not one piece of art on the white walls so the room was very visually uninteresting, other than a nice view over the neighbourhood looking east. There is a nice, large communal area on the 14th floor. Previously, there was a coffee bar there, but it is apparently closed due to Covid. There is a trendy bar on the 15th floor, it can evidently be noisy on the weekends, so watch out for this if you are in the hotel on the weekends. There is a heated pool, but it is not open in the mornings when I customarily swim my laps, so I didnt get to swim and that was a disappointment, although one walks enough in NYC to get in daily exercise. My big beef is the mandatory daily amenity fee. This affords credit for daily minibar, dry cleaning, and use of a city bike. I dont cycle, I had one thing cleaned, but theres nothing on the D/C menu for under $10, so it is illogical to use this if you dont need it because you still end up paying extra. I was really ticked off over the Minibar. It was not restocked for days. We consumed the items we wanted, but after the 1st day, there was nothing left that we wanted to eat or drink, so again paying for nothing. I feel I should not have to call to request restocking. If they are going to charge daily, replenishment should also be daily as well. I will most likely stay here again on my next NYC trip, but hope they can improve on service.
The hotel has a great location in the lower east side and the rooftop bar was great to visit before we went out for dinner. We traveled with another couple and we both paid for a terrace room, we received the disability room with a sliding glass door to a space outside that faced an AC unit and a view of the fence. Our friends on a higher floor had a real terrace facing a city, so we know what the price of what we paid should have looked like. We didn’t say anything at the time because we just dealt with it and had unpacked our stuff already. We were just a little disappointed we were not told upfront knowing full well that is not a room with a terrace. Also, since the restaurant is closed we we’re given $20 to use in the mini fridge each day but it was never refilled.
My rooms were changed 2 times. The first room was disgusting. You’re better off starting at a motel than this property. The second room had a plumbing issue. The third room they moved me to was directly above a bar that blasted music till 3am so office I got no sleep. There was hair from previous guests in the shower. Not like a single hair but like a lot on the floor. The towels had a weird pink stain. The rug looked like it had disgusting stains all over it. I would fire the management team running this hotel
This is my second time staying here I’ve had a nice stay each time the service has been good even though I’ve never stayed longer than a night so I can’t say much. The rooms are always clean and enough space for two. We got the queen room and a nice view of the city. Perfect area for night life and a young crowd. Lots to do around and great places to eat. Definitely worth the price range and I would recommend to someone looking for a more affordable stay in the city.
Positive: Location was good for Soho/NYU area. Despite it being on a very busy street it is quiet. Guests should know there is a very popular nightclub on the top floors so elevators get busy at night. Bed was comfortable. Negative: We didn¿t notice immediately but the bathrm could use a complete scrubbing¿ like some mildew in the shower & dried drips running down the back of the bathroom door- stuff noticed after using a couple of days.
The noise from the dance club on the top floor was unbearable at 4 pm on a Sat afternoon. I needed rest after traveling and it was impossible to get any. the club attracts lots of people not staying at the hotel. had the hotel made known in advance that the room might be noisy on the weekend, i would have opted to stay elsewhere. during the week, i suspect its not as bad.
Really cool design for a hotel located in a very cool neighborhood. The staff was incredibly welcoming and knowledgeable, the room was spotlessly clean, and theres a parking garage in the hotels basement. Also, and this isnt a minor point, one of the worlds best delicatessens is less than 100 yards away.
Positive: Staff was very helpful with all needs and requests. I requested a quiet room and got one! If you leave the ac fan on and keep the bathroom door shut (that window isnt double-paned) then it will be quiet enough to sleep! The bed was very comfortable. Negative: The rug in the room was stained and it needed a bit of paint touch up. Be sure to request a room away from Mr. Purples noise if you want a quiet room.
Positive: The shower was nice, location was okay. Negative: Check-in was 20 minutes late. We were hoping to get in earlier if possible due to an event at by 4:30, and instead got our keys at 3:20. The Mr Purple bar on the top floor was very loud and unless you¿re up and/or out late, it¿s hard to sleep.
I have stayed at this hotel at least 4-5 times. I am Spire elite and have never been upgraded or gotten an early check-in, as requested. Yet, I will always come back to this hotel because I love the location and the views from the rooms on the higher floors. However, even though I will always come back, the wear and tear is really starting to show through. While I am emphathetic to Covid, staff cut backs, and the general challenges of operating a hotel during these times, the hotel just needs some TLC. The furniture in the room was worn out and showing a lot of wear. The tiles and grout in the shower were cracked, chipped, and dirty. There were scratches on the desk, the door handles were worn down, the upholstered furniture had spots. The door to the mini-bar was broken and I could not open it. The coffee machine had only tea and decaf coffee, no creamer. I had to ask for housekeeping service after 2 days. Also the staff at the front desk were not forthcoming with the amenity fee credit and what that meant - I had to ask the question. Wish they were a little bit more friendly. It all just felt a little sad. However, that said, value is still fair for an NYC hotel and the location cant be beat in my opinion.
Used to be amazing and it’s still great, but seems to be slowly deteriorating. Initial room was smelly (lingering cigarette smell) but subsequent room as excellent. But I still did uneed to deal with getting that swapped so that was a pain. Also, phone lines were not working properly due to the weather (apparently). It was just rain and so I don’t think it’s acceptable for 2021. I can understand if this was a snow storm or a major power outage but not for heavy rainfall (Ida). With all that said, the scene is still pretty awesome (Mr. purple on the rooftop), but it still sucks that the pool was designed so small and as a result, I’ve never booked a room here on account of access to the pool, which would otherwise be pretty valuable for Manhattan (think Gansevoort Meatlacking). The location is still fairly trendy so that will remain a positive for quite some time. But it does feel like the hotel has slightly deteriorated over time since opening. I’ve stayed here at least twice a year on average since opening, so I can see the trajectory clearly. But I can understand that this is mostly expected physical wear and tear because the staff is still AMAZING and the service is still IMPECCABLE!!!
This is a great value for a clean, modern hotel in a fantastic location. When I get the right room, I love it; when I get a good but not great room, I still like it. But room selection is a game of chance. They could do a lot better job differentiating rooms among the choices on their website. Square footage is not the only (or even the most important) determinant. View snd floor level are more important to me. My only other suggestion for the hotel is to find a way to reimagine the 14th floor. It’s a fantastic space that, since Covid, has been allowed to languish. I really liked it when check in was there, but what would be more important would be to get some kind of coffee/food service going again. If you can run a packed bar one floor above, you can do that for your actual quests. Also, what’s with the tape around the pool table? It just adds to the sense of abandonment. Let guests and people with them use it, and give them a reason to go there - like a cafe or a quiet place to get a drink.
Positive: Nice people-staff and other guests. Clean, quiet. Instant hot water in the bathroom a big plus. Negative: Room always too cold-thermostat didnt raise the temp more than 1 or 2 degrees. No food available, no coffee shop. Dirty neighborhood-I would not return or recommend.
The hotel lacks of staff treating guests as guests. Poor attention for a hotel charging that rates. A Holiday Inn Express for half the price has better staff on duty. Look at my overall stays throughout a year (250+ nights in IHG hotels) then you will better understand my comments. Wrong billed on top of it. No respond from hotel.
We had two rooms for our recent stay. Hotel is nyc funky/artsy. The rooms lacked the most in terms of looking worn down and needing a fresh coat of paint, bathroom re-tile, better plumbing in shower drain etc. the rooms were dusty and just looked like a freshening was dire. Both rooms were lacking. The staff was friendly for nyc. Cleaning staff was very friendly and helpful. Lots of bar goers over the weekend and filled the lobby on Saturday. Meh…
I was very excited for my stay at the Indigo hotel after hearing only good things. Unfortunately it was quite the opposite. It all started when we first checked in and the reception lady was extremely rude to us and quite insulting with the way she answered our questions. The same day we had to call downstairs from our room as our Air-conditioning was not working. The security at the building tried to convince me I was not a guest at the hotel as my room key was not correct - again this was provided to us from the reception. To end our stay i had been double charged on my credit card. I tried speaking to the manager who was not helpful at all.I am not impressed and will not be recommending this hotel to anyone.
Had a great time for a long weekend in July in NYC. The rooftop bar was a little too packed for me, but thats to be expected in summer time. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The location is in the center of it all, but our room was quiet and had no noise issues even through we were only 3 floors up.
Fun location and modern rooms, however we chose this hotel for rooftop terrace and pool access. When we got there we were told there was no access because it was rented to a private party. In addition, it was announced at registration that there would also be an amenity fee (for what?!?) but most of it would be in a mini bar credit. After checkout we found we were instead billed for almost twice the fee they told us about. I have tried to call and email to resolve but no one answers the phone or responds to email. There are many great hotels in the area and while this was an okay stay, I’ll try a different one next time, one with better customer service.
The location of this hotel is excellent for exploring the lower East Side of NYC and the surrounds. Walking distance to many restaurants, bars an shops you can find anything you want. The rooms are well designed, adequate size and CLEAN. The front desk staff is amazing - I felt like family as soon as I checked in.
Hotel Indigo LES is my go to hotel in Manhattan - conveniently located and pleasant neighborhood to walk around. The ownership definitely cares about the property with their investment and display of artwork. However, that attention needs to be paid to the room. I would suggest more walk thrus, touch-up paint jobs in the rooms, thorough bathroom cleanings to remove the move, re-caulking of the showers and making sure the little things work like curtains. I love this hotel and really hate to see the daily maintenance neglected.
I stayed here for a quick work trip.First, the good things. Hotel is boutique/hip-looking. Rooms are clean, fresh-smelling and welcoming. Bed is comfy. Plenty of outlets and lots of Dimmable lighting. Bathroom soaps provided are lovely and moisturizing, especially for bar soap. Rooftop, gym and other amenities are nice. Now for the cons, not many but they’re big for me, and maybe for others who have to stay somewhere for work and need sleep. I would not stay here again unfortunately. It is SOOOO NOISY! I was put in a room facing Ludlow St…Constant New York sounds. And on a Weds night…tons of sirens every few minutes, honking, motorcycles, revving, people outside screaming and lots of bar scene on the street. This was a massive turn off for me and I could not get a good night’s sleep, and needed to use noise cancelling earbuds, which even then, didn’t do much.Fun if you don’t need to sleep.
The views are great, but if you are booking this hotel for the pool, there is a good chance you will not be able to use it. The pool is not owned by the hotel, but run by a third-party vendor that they have no control over. We were told this repeatedly during our visit. Also, the bar on the 15th floor, it’s very loud and open until two or three in the morning. Bring a sound machine if you want to sleep anytime after midnight. The cost to visit that bar after 6 PM is also very high. More than $100 per person charge. There are so many amazing restaurants in the neighborhood, you do not need to go to that bar to eat.
I will start with the pros: lobby was clean and the staff was great. Friendly. Kind. Courteous! Paul was nice to talk to and very helpful. Location is great for being near Little Italy and Chinatown. Just a few blocks from the F Train. Littler half a block from the world famous Kats deli. Linens were as expected for an IHG place. Love the IHG pillows, sheets and comfortersCons: Unfortunately the cleanliness of the room was a little less desirable. I would have expected more from a IHG hotel. I am also aware of the pandemic has had on staff, but the things that were left unchecked is unacceptable. See attached pictures. The shower was filled with mold. Which I believe has alot to do with the fact that the bathroom exhaust fan wasnt working at all.My son drop a lego on the floor and it rolled under the bed....I know right! The dreaded under the hotel room bed....to my dismay he not only pulled out his lego peice, but a handful of dust bunnies. See pics. If your going to have beautiful hard woods in the room, the expectation should at least be a quick swiffer under at cleaning time. It appeared the floor was clean in very long time. See picturesOverall. Meh. For the price I will stay elsewhere.
I had booked a corner king suite with outdoor terrace for a bachelorette, where the bride also happened to be celebrating her birthday. The room we had booked apparently was not available when we checked in, and we were put into another suite -- one that did not have an outdoor terrance or pullout couch like the one we had booked. None of this was communicated up front when we checked in; instead it was hidden and we needed to go back downstairs to sort everything out. The room we ended up getting versus the room we had paid for were also different costs. And we were reliant on the pullout couch to sleep guests, which the one we were checked into did not have. While we ended up getting the room cost adjusted, the way it was hidden and not communicated up front was not appropriately handled. Additionally, management kept on blaming things that were going wrong on being short staffed, and while I can understand that, it should not fall back to the paying customer. Lastly, the room difference that should have been refunded to my credit card (as I had booked the room and was charged for the original rate), ended up getting refunded to someone elses credit card. While I love the location of the hotel, and overall love the IHG change, my overall experience was just very frustrating and disappointing.
I used to love this hotel. I stayed here a few years ago and had a wonderful, relaxing experience. My stay in 2021, however, was not so much. The rooms are showing extreme wear and tear. There are scuff marks all over the walls, the furniture is beat up and the bedside lights needed to be jiggled to actually turn on. The hotel guests are noisy and up until all hours of the night screaming and slamming doors. Our keys stopped working before checkout so we were unable to collect our bags to check out quickly. I had to deal with the front desk 3 times to remedy this issue.
This hotel could definitely be better (some outlets not working, hot water cut off on the morning we were checking out, took almost two hours for our room to be ready for check in) but I would definitely stay here again because of the location, staff, and views. The beds are very firm. You only have access to the pool on week days.
Staff is hostile, unhelpful, and it feels intentional.Coming in to NYC on a red eye. Employee booked (paid) for the night before so he could check in first thing.- Staff will not allow him to check in in advanced- wont hold the room even though its paid for, so coming from the airport they may have released the prepaid room- wont call anyone to let them know when the room is available to check in- multiple staff members were curt, rude and hostile to basic questions from my staffWe are prohibiting employees from staying here going forward.
Staff needs courses in hospitality. Upon arrival, I wasn’t asked if I was an IHG member, nor did they ask me my preferences for a room. The staff was not interested in me at all or welcoming as a guest. There was no “welcome to NY” or “where did you travel from” or anything friendly- just “ID and credit card” like I was at the airport and they were trying to move things along. Rooms show online well but have old damaged furniture, old curtains, and inconvenient outlets. So felt a bit dated. Not what I expected from this level of hotel. Just glad I got a discounted rate and did not pay full price through Priceline.
Im writing this from my room at the hotel indigo. The 15th floor of this hotel is an extremely loud nightclub, and the hotel below has minimal soundproofing. I can hear the music and screaming from above loud and clear from my bed.I wouldnt hold this against the staff (they didnt design the hotel) but when I brought this to their attention they told me that it is what it is. Considering the wealth of extremely nice and incredibly accommodating hotels in the area, and the high price of this hotel, I cant imagine why one would ever want to stay hereI suppose Im glad they can run such a successful nightclub, and mange to run an underwhelming, overpriced hotel on the side.
Two negatives. The pool is almost a complete bait and switch. Monday through Friday guests of the hotel may use the pool but, and this is a huge one, if you want to use it on the weekend then prepare to pay $125 per person, per day, $500 for a weekend for two!!!That in no way counts as an amenity... You can spin it all you want but it doesnt count. The other issue is that some random drunk person had a key that opened our room door. If the security lock wasnt in place this person might have been a dangerous problem. The rest of the experience was fine but overshadowed by the above.
Cleaning team does a great job, impeccable room everyday.Perfect location. No consideration for Platinum Elite patrons (unlike other hotel groups or airlines).Pool is as great as it looks on the advertisement and pictures. Read the fine prints as it is only open from 12-6pm. Misleading. Read the fine print!
Positive: Location is truly excellent. Id recommend the hotel for the location alone, in the heart of the Lower East Side, around the corner from Katz. View was nice. Good shower. Design furniture and wood floors. The room was clean. Negative: Pool hours: 12:00pm - 6:00pm... Really? Staff was not particularly helpful. Safe didnt work. No soap in room. Two floor towels and one regular towel. Odd...
My daughter and I stayed here prior to drop off at camp. Super cool hotel. Lobby amazing, pool great. We arrived really early and concierged our bags. Front desk texted us when room was ready. I worked 3 of the days. Internet great. Only drawback was coffee bar in lobby and pool cafe being closed.
My friend and I stayed a here on a “staycation” last weekend. The hotel is very nicely designed, though tired and in need of some maintenance/small renovations/more soundproof windows. Overall though, we enjoyed our stay. Upon returning home Sunday though (a 15 minute train ride to my apartment), I realized I’d forgotten my $300 BOSE speaker in the room. The front desk person was very helpful and connected me with one of his colleagues but unfortunately they later confirmed that my speaker was not recovered… meaning it was stollen by either the cleaning staff or someone else who accessed the room after our departure. I appreciate that it was my mistake to leave the speaker but didn’t appreciate (a) that the woman I dealt with kept saying “I understand you thought you left your speaker here”. And (b) that I was told the head of operations would call me and they never did. So an overall satisfactory stay but safeguard your things while staying there, as they have no system in place to protect against theft.
The staff was horrendous. Book us in to the wrong room with only one bed (instead of two) after I even called the morning of check-in to verify we were getting two beds, which they did explicitly confirm. The manager offered no solutions to correct the problem after I had to call 3 times just to get a hold of her. On top of that, my friend dropped off a jacket of mine at the front desk for me to pick up. They proceeded to lose the jacket for hours, along with acting like it was my fault that the jacket was not there. Never received any type of apology from anyone. Severely disappointed with the experience.
This is a good 18 hotel to stay at. Although the fridge was not fully stocked, it looked like whatever was left from whoever previously stayed there and the water pressure in the shower is too much, the water went all over the floor. Other than that it was a great place to stay considering that it was last minute. It is also in a very convenient location.
Solid location and friendly staff. But overall I found this location to be less than 4* quality. The room had little sound proofing, so the sounds from the hotel bar, other guests, and the hallway ice machine woke me up a few times late into the night- It felt like a college dorm. And a lot of extras were charged when normally provided as amenities included in guests’ stays elsewhere- including the pool and even for bottled water ($8???). will give it a skip next time I’m in the city.
Do not stay here they took our used condom out of the trash that was wrapped in toilet paper and put it on the floor after we left and charged our card twice for biodegradable fee. When called to dispute the front desk hang up on us and the manager wouldn’t take our call. Please do not stay here they will dig through your trash and charge your card for stuff u didn’t do .I think the scary part is someone digging through to trash looking for used condom so they can charge u a clean up feePlease do not stay here . Very disrespectful and nasty 🤮 service.
Room was quiet but really overpriced. Bathroom latch broken. Crack in sink. Wall scraped up. No one able to help us get a ride to the airport even when we had a major mishap with the ride we had planned. . All that would be fine if it were a budget hotel. Very Overrated. The bar is good but not associated with hotel and you can go any time.
This hotel has gone downhill. The pool hours are restricted from 12-6 only weekdays. Even worse, on Friday we could not use the pool as they have booked a private party. The noise outside at nights is unbearable, we were on the 4ht floor. We got an extra charge for the minibar, which we are disputing as $20 is included in minibar consumption per day. The receptionist was not friendly and seem she does not like her work. The bellboy is not even capable of opening the door. Overall a disappointment and will not come back.
Although the art was very flashy and the rooms were clean, there were lots of problems with this hotel that didnt relate to COVID. As far as I could tell, theres no room service at all. To-go foods are available from the cafe. (Which was closed, though the bar had re-opened.) I wanted to try the bar, but you couldnt order it to your room, just to-go orders.Second, Im used to hotels having on-demand movies or entertainment of some sort. Our room had DirectTV with a weird (old) guide station and no on-demand options. We could hook a USB drive to the TV, but these days Im not carrying around entertainment on a USB-A drive. Also, the shower looked fancy, but I couldnt get the overhead nozzle to work. The other part (the hose bit) worked, but it seemed like part of it had been installed upside down, so it was a poor experience.I wanted to book a different Hotel Indigo but the one I wanted didnt seem available (in Williamsburg). I was OK with this one because I thought we could use the roof terrace, but the roof terrace was closed. I wasnt sure if it was closed because of COVID or the rain.I also requested a crib on the online booking system but didnt get one (we didnt need one that badly). I requested an upgrade to a king sized bed with a patio that wasnt granted. We saw very few other guests during our stay, so Im not sure why so few rooms were available.
Stayed for Thanksgiving back in 2019 and this place was near perfection. Now? Not even close. Amenities are not only restricted but you’ll be treated rudely when trying to access them. The location is still great spot but it’s a shame the hotel doesn’t live up to it any longer. The rooms have seen better days and are definitely showing their age. If you’re here for business, don’t rely on this hotel’s internet.
I wanted to enjoy my stay but since the rooftop bar is what I paid for, and there’s NOTHING on their website about requiring proof of vaccination to GET FOOD, it was a bit of a letdown. If anything had told me to bring my card, I would have. You know, also, NO ROOM SERVICE “because of COVID” for some reason? Like they can’t do a contactless delivery outside your room? Even more ridiculous since the front desk wasn’t even wearing a mask. The room is fine, but I could have had a fine room for half the price. I wanted the experience and was barred from it. Cool, thanks.
Had a very nice stay. Found the staff here very helpful. Best reason to stay here is the location--dozens of restaurants right outside the doors of the hotel and easy to get to other parts of the city without staying in a tourist trap. As others have noted, the noise from the rooftop bar travels several floors. Rooms on the ends of the hallways, however avoid this.
There is a bar located on the hotel’s lower rooftop that blasts music until all hours of the night. You can literally here the exact song that’s playing it’s THAT loud. When I called down to the lobby, they told me that they don’t own the bar that’s located on their own rooftop and that there’s nothing they can do about it. Ridiculous that they’d house a bar on their rooftop with guests’ rooms immediately below and above it. It’s such a shame because the hotel itself is in a great location and the rooms are a nice size but considering a hotel is for sleeping, I would not recommend.
We always stay at this hotel when in NYC. We love the location and all the LES has to offer. Our only complaint was that the rainfall shower head was not working and we told the front desk when we left, but it wasn’t really a big issue. The ease of parking (parking garage right next door) and proximity to our favorite restaurant a few steps away (Taverna Di Bacco - has outdoor igloo dining) further adds to our satisfaction with this hotel. Staff is always courteous, the rooms are always clean and even in this time of COVID, that didn’t change.
My first time at this hotel and it was a great experience. The front desk representative Shakira C was so polite, kind and attentive to all my concerns. Ambiance is perfect, roomspotless.. and my room view was awesome. Close to various restaurants, attractions, bridges. Would definitely stay again. ☺️
Hotel Staff friendly and helpful. Great roof-top bar, Mr. Purple. You need reservations so call a head. Beautiful view of the city from the bar. Rooms clean and up to date. Quiet and didnt hear any body talking or loud music. very nice.Great location close to restaurants and shopping.
This hotel is meant for a younger crowd. There is a roof top bar/pool which attracts young people and over the top music going on until 2 am. (At least on week ends)Still, the neighborhood is great and offers limitless places to eat. The bedroom was spacious and very comfortable. The staff at the front desk was not knowledgeable and at times dismissive.
Not charging for the drinks inside the tiny fridge would help. I was charged $48 for a pair of beer and water. Not providing misleading information about the availability of a pool, would also help. Your adds indicate there is a beautiful pool and a beautiful restaurant, bit both are managed by a third party. And reservations are required. I wasnt able to take my future wife to neither the pool or the restaurant (which by the way were the main reasons I chose your hotel). I wanted to impress her with the view from the rooftop while having a romantic dinner. But it was not posible. Cleaning the carpet inside the room, would most definitely help. Having an actual Television would help. Your TV was for looks only. Nothing was posible with that TV. I wasnt able to watch it at all. Not even able to connect my cell phone to it. And it had NO channels at all.Replacing the USB outlets for ones that actually work, would help. I wasnt able to charge my cell phone during my entire stay
This hotel was convenient to get to, and in a central location for most attractions. It was a bit noisy at night, as a result of the club upstairs and sirens on a close and busy road. Also, a lot of restrictions on time and usage of the pool and rooftop bar/restaurant.
We drove from Hull to New York at 12midnight to avoid traffic which was about 4hrs drive. We arrived at 4am. We paid extra day so we can check in at 4am. When we got to the hotel the front desk/receptionist t gave us 1 key. When we opened the door the key didnt work. So we went back to the front desk and he gave us new key. When we opened the door, we were so disappointed with the room. It looks like they didnt clean it. The bedsheets were not change. Bathroom was dirty. It was 4am we were very tired and it was just disappointing. Were just glad that the front desk moved us to a king bedroom.
I really enjoyed my stay at Hotel Indigo. The location, professionalism and hospitality of the staff and cleanliness of the room were great! The only reason I rated my stay 4 stars out of 5 was because a $20 credit was offered each day for products from the mini bar. However my mini bar consisted of 2 cans of Red Bull and a mini shot container of Jack Daniels. I drank one of the Red Bulls just to try and use up the $20 credit. I was there 2 nights so I definitely did not use my $40 mini bar credit. They need to be sure they are stocking the mini fridges if they are telling their guests they have a $20 credit each day but have 3 items available during the entire stay. They should also advise the cost of the items they are offering from the mini bar.
All the employees were amazing and friendly. The carpet in our room did have weird stains and the rain shower didn’t work. Also the pool closed at 4:30 for a private event but we weren’t notified when we booked our room. That’s definitely not the hotel employees problem it’s an issue with the website and on the corporate end. Overall was a nice experience.
This hotel is near my son and daughter-in-laws apartment and as such very convenient for our visit. In addition, close to our needs: a deli open 24/7, CVS, coffee across the street. Cleaning staff responsive and exceptional. Only wish was for more access to the one-lane pool. Two hours is not enough, especially since it was full when I showed up to swim at noon the final day of our visit.
I really enjoyed the accommodations of this hotel, which were very spacious for New York standards. The view from the room was even better than the website led me to believe, which was important to me. Unfortunately, the water went out during my second day of the stay and we werent able to shower, brush our teeth, wash our hands, flush the toilet, etc. for several hours. This was less than ideal, but also was not the fault of the staff who handled it as best they could.
Hotel Indigo LES has fine rooms and is in a great spot to explore several Manhattan neighborhoods. The double room was more than big enough. The overall guest experience suffered however. My check-in experience was terrible. I have a finicky American Express Card that gets demagnitized but works after two or three swipe cycles. The tiny swipers were behind the plexiglass safety barriers and with direct sun, I could barely see what was going on. Instead of assisting me, the clerk just kept telling me my card wasnt accepted. I explained that it needed to swipe/chip/seipe etc., but she kept overriding the card reader. She had no interest in assisting, just telling me nothing was working. Another apparently more senior clerk had nothing to do and just observed without helping. So Im standing in the hot sun trying to check in after a nine hour trip and all I get is a disinterested pair of clerks who really just had to call my card into Amex. Finally checked in and very pleased with the size of our room and the qualit of finishes. The minibar came with a $20 credit except it was out of water and there was no pricelist. The showerhead was broken (only the arm worked, not the overhead) and the fan in the bathroom either was broken or did not exist. The overall room expereince was very good and the HVAC/ air con worked very well without smart t-stats that keep a minimum temp. Also, the lobby set up could be better. Understanding it was still tail-end COVID, there is no hang out space in the lobby. Should be a couple of cool sofas or hang out spaces and some coffee service or something. The lobby design is sterile and like a weird canyon. Overall, HILES provides nice big rooms in a great neighborhood. The broken fixtures in the bathroom were a drag and the check in experience was dreadful, but the room was quite nice and clean.
This neighborhood is fun, well kept and mostly safe. Lots of great restaurants, etc nearby. COVID: Guidelines are posted around the common spaces, although more reminders would be helpful. Overall, spaces felt clean and we felt safe. No daily housekeeping, which was fine with us. Staff: These people were fantastic. Checking in, checking out, questions a long the way - we really enjoyed our interactions with staff.Room: The decor was stylish, space use was efficient. The room was clean, but did show some signs of wear, particularly in the bathroom (some mildew-y caulk and crackling ceiling in the shower, plus some stains on the rug in the room, etc.) Nothing that really bothered us, but worth noting. The bed was ok. Seems to be a party hotel typically. Because we visited during the pandemic, I think the impact was much lower than normal for us, but we did experience loud neighbors in the hall at night, some pot smells in common areas. FYIOverall, wed stay again for the right price. We enjoyed our visit and particularly the staff.
It was clean and staff were friendly and helpful. However, it was lacking many of the amenities I have come to expect from an Indigo property. Furniture in the room was a bit worn, mini-bar was not stocked with any snacks, no yoga mat or robes. It is in a great neighborhood and was overall fine.
The hotel is very noisy due to a bar based on the 15th floor - and works until 3 am. If you are looking for a quiet night - this is not the place.Other than that, the hotel located in a great place. The rooms are very nice, big, clean and comfortable (I stayed in a king city view room). The staff is nice, but cant assist as the Bar is not part of the hotel and they cant do anything. We started on the 24th floor (great view) but the noise was soo trouble we moved to the 11th floor. still noisy, but better.
A bit disappointed with the Grand Deluxe King Room with a view that we got, was hoping for the corner room with city skyline views shown in the pictures but apparently we got the “other, larger one” with a small window kinda looking at the other side of the city. I asked the front desk to move us to the corner room and they kindly put on a request but clarified that they were fully booked and most likely wouldn’t get it. Overall the experience was great, super clean and trendy looking lobby, the neighborhood was just amazing.
Above the average for a NY hotel. Great location, modern rooms with fair size and great bathroom (surprisingly not American-standard). A genuine boutique hotel with character! No breakfast though much to my disappointment!!Enough with that silly excuse for covid that makes zero sense, especially when the bar on the 15th floor is open like normal.Breakfast should be served!
The hotel pre-charges $20/day for the mini bar in the room whether you use it or not. It was never refilled, making it impossible to get your moneys worth.Pool hours were terrible (12pm-6pm Monday-Friday) and had very little seating capacity (maybe 10 people). They wouldnt even let you outside if they were at capacity.
Pros: the hotel itself is modern and nicely remodeled. it is in a vibrant and convenient location. The beds are very comfortable.Cons: there is a nightclub on the 15th floor. This caused a few issues for my stay. First, the advertised pool is actually owned by the night club and guests are allowed to use it sometimes. Although the website says it is only for hotel guests on weekdays, we were not allowed to use the pool at 2PM on a Friday and told that it was booked for a private event. Concierge said he would try to get us a reservation for the weekend, but then never followed up. Second, it is of course very noisey. Our room was thankfully very far away from the elevators/air shaft, but it was very noisey close by to the elevator. Third, I received a very curt and hostile greeting upon entering the hotel on a weekend night and was asked if I was a hotel guest. When I said yes, I was forced to show my hotel room key before going to the hotel elevator.
For the price of the room and for being a 4 star hotel i was expecting more from hotel indigo. The room size is great, very spacious compared to other hotel stays I’ve had in NYC. However, upon checking in there was still garbage in the trash cans and mini fridge of my room. Not to mention nothing is complimentary here. They even charge you if you move something in the mini fridge. My other con was the noise. Since there is a bar on the 15th floor you can expect noise till 3-4 am. People running through the halls, screaming etc. overall mediocre experience and wouldn’t stay again. The Ludlow Hotel across the street is MILES better!!!
To be honest. Overpriced to the point where you have to pay for a single bottle of water for an additional $8.00I was staying for an overnight work trip which meant I would be resting for less than 4 hours and wasn’t impressed at all. It was freezing in the room with no additional blankets, I was charged $25 for additional amenities which I find ridiculous. I’ve heard of resort taxes and fees but not a 25.00 add on especially when there isn’t even water offered. Lower east side is filthy and I rather pay to stay at the ludlow with more of vibe. Not worth booking. Still upset about the fact there isn’t even a bottle of water in the room for arriving guests. The front desk said they can bring one up for $8.00
Overall the room was great. Comfy bed, clean, spacious size, with large bathroom. However the hotel was understaffed with 2 hour checkin/ checkout lines. The crowd is young tourist partygoers. The hotel is VERY noisy, so if you’d like to sleep at night it could be a problem.
Hotel is in a great location. Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was missing a remote control for the TV, hairdryer, prices for mini bar and bathroom products except lotion. (Things were brought to me when asked though) The rain shower wouldn’t turn on and only dropped cold water while the handheld part worked. Room was clean, but furniture is a bit beat up. Was charged a service charge that was supposed to include free wifi, $20/day mini bar items, and a citibike day pass. When I asked about the bike pass I was told they didn’t have any and to check back. I was also told housekeeping wouldn’t be in during my stay so I left things out. They came in all three days. It just all felt discombobulated. I know it wasn’t the highest priced hotel in Manhattan so I wasn’t expecting luxury, but it didn’t seem to live up to being over $200 a night.
Incredibly loud music permeates this place...from their own bar/club. We paid extra (in IHG points) for what we thought would be a nice upscale hotel. Physically, it is. Very nice rooms, friendly staff...but this should really only be visited by people looking for a loud club atmosphere.
I ordered a room based on the photos and was given a completely different room. When brought to the staffs attention, they would refuse to provide me with the room I had paid for. Besides that, the rooms are noisy, you constantly hear others slamming doors in the hotel, elevators are extremely slow, and there is paint chipping within the rooms. Cleaning staff was nice and friendly, no problems with them.Would not recommend.
I really enjoyed my stay here, it was a good value for the money, but if I hadnt have been prepared I might have a different story.First off, the bar on the 15th floor is very loud, and you can also hear a lot of hallway noise even in the bed, so bringing some sort of white noise is a must. Luckily, I already did so it didnt bother me too much but if I hadnt the partying would have been a bit much. The neighborhood is quite trendy and has a lot of amazing cheap places to eat (and expensive ones too) but man it is kind of gross. It was definitely the most run down part of NYC I visited during my days there. I still felt safe, but the streets smelled awful and there was garbage everywhere. Luckily a number of trains were just a few blocks away and could get to cleaner parts of town.If you do stay, theres a great pizza place right around the corner (Zazzys) and some awesome late night crepes just two blocks down the street. The amazing local food is really the best reason to choose this area.
With NYC slowly and safely opening up, I decided to do a staycation for my birthday right here in NYC.... HOME! I wanted a hotel in the city where I could just relax and unwind. It was perfect! If you come here make sure you check out the rooftop bar/lounge Mr. Purple. You will need a reservation so act fast. The views were great! There is a lot of foot traffic at night with bar goers but there is security at the hotel door after hours so I always felt safe! I cant wait to plan my next staycation in the heart of LES!
Shower was broken, no trash can in bathroom, no face towels given, no ice bucket in room, nothing in the mini bar to put towards the $20 daily credit…etc. could it get worse? Yes, must make a reservation at the pool and it’s $135 a person to use a hotel pool that you’re staying in and paying way over price rates… make it make sense? Then if you want a drink at the hotel bar ? Make sure you get there two hours before closing because they close a whole hour before they actually are suppose to close. Also, our friends had a room too and their A/C was out the entire stay. Maintenance came to fix it twice and it still never worked. Terrible experience at this hotel
Dont fall for their false advertising about the pool. The hotel boasts about it on social media and features the pool picture on every booking website. It is clearly written in the amenity section on your confirmation page (IHG.com). When you arrive, you are only to be told it is a separate entity. To enter, you have to spend at least $200 per person at the bar and $50 is dedicated as the pool admission fee, then add tax and tips. Not to mention drunk people from the bar packing the hotel elevators, blasting music and making loud noises at midnight... I feel sorry for the hotel staff. All the complaints about this pool scam are directed at them but the hotel owner is the one at fault. This situation should be reported to FTC or BBB.
I stayed two nights for a staycation. I was drawn to this hotel because of the pool, which didnt disappoint. Staff was helpful, attentive, and nice. The room was a nice size and the bed was comfy. They removed all pamphlets or booklets from the room as well as the minibar contents (presumably for difficulty in disinfecting?) so I do wish there was some information in the room about what restaurants immediately around the hotel had dine-in or delivery options But all in all, it was a good stay.

2022-06-07This is a party hotel. The staff was very polite and helpful, rectifying mistakes quickly and efficiently and trying their best, I think. But man, this stay was a bit of a mess. I wont get into all the details but there were reservation screw ups, overcharges, and several small issues with the room that just added to our frustration...and then theres Mr. Purple. What a disappointing, misrepresented establishment that is - and you get charged a $25/day amenity fee for the pleasure of dealing with it.The location is great if youre into food/drink - steps away from some of the best food and bars in the city - but it just doesnt make up for the obnoxiousness that pours out of Mr. Purple. It looks like a beautiful bar in photos but its actually a full blown club attracting a very young and very trashy clientele. The club goers are not well separated from the hotel guests and we frequently had to wait in line with a bunch of drunk kids just to get to our room, show bouncers our room keys/IDs, and just generally deal with the detritus and aggravation of barely legal idiots. The one time my sister and I ventured up to the club just to take a look early on a week night, we quickly left after a young girl passed out on a pool lounger leaned over to throw up near our feet. Its really a shame - the rooms are very spacious and while they could use a refresh, theyre comfortable enough for the price point. The view from the suites is gorgeous, but we will not make this mistake again.Recommended if youre in your early 20s and looking to party until sunrise...everyone else, pick a different hotel in the neighborhood.

2022-03-10Overall pleasant stay, but the room needed a good cleaning. There were balloon strings hanging behind the TV, tape on the ceiling, and scuff marks all over the place. A few of the outlets didnt work, and the bathroom window didnt close. However, the floors were fine, and the bathroom was spotless. The gym is small but had sufficient basic equipment and towels. Staff was consistently nice. Enjoyable enough stay overall!

2022-05-15My husband and I stayed here on a Friday night. We had a suite with a balcony. Beautiful view, huge bathroom. Unfortunately our room was directly above the club but the music outside ended around midnight and we slept fine. Its in a great location as well. Alfredo was very helpful when we checked out!

2022-02-07Positive: The staff was very kind and helpful. We were able to store our luggage after checkout which was great. The room was clean and comfortable with a great view. Negative: It would have been helpful to know how to use the room key to use the elevator. Someone had to explain it to us after we went up and down for 5 minutes and then I had to explain it to another guest who was frustrated as well.

2022-05-10I loved my stay at the Indigo Lower East Side! The room was huge. My walk-in shower was a treat. I was incredibly impressed with housekeeping - specifically Nancy. My room was spotless. Each time I came back it looked like no one had been there. Nancy truly went above and beyond. She wanted to make sure I was happy. Who does that? The doormen was welcoming and warm. All of them!My ONE huge complaint is the lack of restaurant. This is a huge negative. In fact, I would not stay here again unless there was a working restaurant. I over heard many people checking in voicing complaints and/or concerns about a lack of restaurant options on-site. There is a demand for it, Im just not sure why it is still closed.

2022-05-23This Hotel is in a great location! Plenty of restaurants and markets and coffee shops etc in the area around it. The night life is really alive! Including Indigos own Rooftop bar and lounge thats stays open until 4am. The staff was great and really attentive to the guest needs. The rooms are pretty small for the price but the atmosphere makes up for it. The place was very clean and all in all it was a very enjoyable experience

2021-12-30Garbage hotel definitely not a 4-star hotel at all. There is a bar on the 15th floor making noise all the time. I stayed on the 19th floor and can literally hear the bass. Such a terrible place to stay at. A narrow room with narrow space. I didnt even fall asleep until 2 am since the bar wont stop playing loud music until then. I regret booking here. The view is ridiculous as well. I am facing the other tall building and I can see nothing.

2022-03-21Hotel staff treated me very well. Everyone was friendly and personable, if not very casual. Wish I would have gotten the name of the front desk associate who checked me in the first night because she deserves recognition for her professionalism and attentiveness. Rooms are also decently sized for NYC. Really enjoyed the bathroom and the bed. Since we stayed in the upper floors, you could hear the music from the bar but it honestly wasnt too bad, however I can see it being an issue if you are a really really light sleeper.

2022-04-03My husband and I had a good stay. The staff members when we were there were nice and accommodating. When we called guest services to make them aware that the light in our room was broken when we arrived or when we asked for more linens they were very responsive. The room was as expected and clean. The location is great. A lot of great restaurants are within walking distance. The night we got there Ludlow Street was cordoned off from East Houston St. My husband and I tried to see if there was any other way to get to Ludlow, but being from out of town we relied heavily on our GPS and even with it we couldnt figure it out. I called the hotel to ask for help. David picked up. I told him what was going on. He sarcastically said, Well, I cant get them to open up Ludlow St. for you. In response I sarcastically said, Im not asking you to open up Ludlow Street for me 😊, but never mind. My husband and I will just have to figure it out. He apologized for the situation, and we got off the phone. What I was looking for was help getting onto Ludlow. If there wasnt another way to get to Ludlow, then help me get close enough to the hotel so that we can unload our things without having to walk several blocks with all our luggage and bags at 10:00 p.m. in an unfamiliar place after working a full day and then being on the road for six hours, which is ultimately what we ended up having to do.

2022-06-14Loved this spot. The location is close to a bunch of the best bars and restaurants and the staff was lovely. The room was spotless and the walk-in rainhead shower was really great to wash all the city grime off. Comfortable beds with good AC systems made for a good nights sleep. If you want to stay away from the noise, request a lower room for sure. The club on the roof is bumpin. Also would have appreciated a couple more pillows (you get a grand total of two) but overall Id definitely stay here again.
