Hotel Mulberry in New York
Very nice hotel at a very nice price. They dont have breakfast but there are so many places just around the block that its not an issue. We had a very quiet room with a spectacular view of Freedom Tower and other nice buildings (we were in 902). Will be happy to stay here again.
Positive: This was my second time staying at this hotel but this time they gave me a room with a view and it was awesome. I was celebrating a special milestone in life this trip and it assisted in making this trip special. Negative: I did grab a banana one morning and it had a large cut from top to bottom which was unexpected. Other than that everything was great
The staff are the most friendly and accommodating, that youll ever find. Our room was very comfortable but we were disappointed that it didnt have a microwave. You have to have someone unlock the a/c /heat control device so you can change the settings. Would have preferred more amenities but you are right in Chinatown and a few blocks away from Little Italy, so you can make do. We were here for dorm move in and really enjoyed our stay.
We booked the deluxe room, 2 queen beds for the weekend and the rooms are clean and very spacious. We were provided plenty of towels and the blankets are thick and beds are comfortable. All the front desk ladies were great and helpful. There’s a valet on the same street (just a minute away) called iPark. I think it’s a great value and location
The hotel is in a really convenient location for traveling through all of Manhattan. Very close to Canal Street subway and to many incredible places in Chinatown. Also only about a 10 minute walk or 3-5 minute drive to the Brooklyn Bridge. The hotel staff is extremely generous and is very accommodating to all of your needs. The rooms are clean and comfortable with beautiful views of the city. Absolutely would recommend to anyone who asks about staying downtown!
AMAZING 1st trip to NYC and this spot is fabulous. So CLEAN. no coffee in room or downstairs tho but there are places .02 miles away....LOCATION , location, location ♥️ extremely affordable and did I mention clean?! Across streeet from Columbus Park and the view is photo worthy ...priceless. Ill def be back. More towels in room would be nice but other than that, zero complaints. And the hotel is so quiet. Comfortable beds. Larger bath than anticipated! JUST BOOK YOUR STAY!!! youll not regret it.
My wife and I stayed at the hotel Mulberry 2 nights in August, 2021. Excellent 1st impression on hotel security and front desk. Hotel entry door was locked 24hrs and we needed to ring the door bell to ask to be let in to check in (Registered guests have keys). On inquiring about parking our car. The front desk lady walked us out of the hotel show us the parking building, which was just about 100 feet away. The front desk lady was very friendly and helpful on our questions about the area and we actually felt like talking to our friend. The hotel itself was not very big but our King bed Deluxe Room was roomy enough for two of us. The room was very clean and comfortable.2 things specially stood out to us. The entry door to our room. The door was very heavy duty and so as the door lock. And the toilet had a very powerful flush; we had never experienced such a strong recoil on the lever when flushing a toilet:). Great design on the bathroom pocket-door. Our room was on the 9th floor which provided us a great city view. Very comfortable bed. We felt very safe and even more comfortable than staying at the big name chain hotels. The only thing needed to be aware of is that parking in the street is very challenging but that is the same with other hotels in the area. To save the trouble, we parked our car in the public parking building which cost $51/day. The hotel is right in the Chinatown and tons of great eateries and everything around. Overall, I can easily give this hotel a 5 star rating.
Clean, spacious room, combination safe in room, easy check-in and close to public transportation. They give you a key card to get access into the hotel which means people cant just walk in. Old fashion tub and shower, which I appreciate! Will be staying there in the future!
I book this hotel everytime I go to New York City! They have the best service. Best hospitality. Cleanest rooms. Best view of One World Trade Center (if you ask for it, or book that room, of course). They give you a key card for the front door so you can let yourself in. Theyll even hold your luggage for you if you ask. My wife and I checked out on Friday at 11am, and our departure flight wasnt until 8:30pm. They held my luggage until the time I requested, which was 5pm. Great service! Great people! Best hotel in Chinatown!
A absolute unexpected pleasure this place was. The customer service was great, rooms, lodge were super clean. Overall great experience. Everything is close by, great food right around the corner. I loved this place. We were staying at marriot in grand central and left to china town. Felt no difference in service nor comfort at ALL.
This hotel is absolutely not as advertised and reviewed. Requested and told that our room would be suite like with a door separating the queen beds. Not only was that not true, when we got to the room, inside and outside room was filthy with a huge bug crawling one of the mattresses. Furniture was filthy and torn and bathroom was not clean. Hotel surrounding is very unsafe.
We stayed here for a long weekend back in November 2019 and it was great. Terrific location, nice room with a balcony, great staff, and the one free breakfast that fit into our schedule was very good. No complaints at all. Quiet area and in walking distance to Little Italy. We would definitely stay here again. You wont be disappointed.
Very very poor. No drinking water provided, No microwave in the room, Shower curton was too poor to stop the water, Stain on blankets. It is shown as 3 star hotel but actually it is even nowhere near to 2 star. Too high price charged. Nothing in the room was matching the amount paid.
All the positive reviews are true! Hotel Mulberry is a great and affordable way to stay in Manhattan. The staff is friendly, my room was exceptionally clean, we enjoyed the comfortable beds and pillows! Plenty of room. Great water pressure in the shower! Although it can get loud when people are talking in the hallway, theres only a few rooms per floor so it wasnt a frequent occurrence for us. The neighborhood has a lot of great food options right on the block. We enjoyed our stay here and will be back.
Modern hotel in the heart of NY at a reasonable price. The rooms are nice, clean, and in great shape. Comfortable mattress and pillows.Free parking on the street after 7 pm was easy and for the day the nearby lot for 30 all day.Breakfast was included, but was a couple doors down. This was good as it was one of the few times included breakfast was excellent.
Very nice hotel! Very modern, clean rooms, great staff, and reasonably priced. The only downfall, the location. It is pretty far from Center City attractions. Youll need to bring your walking shows when staying at this hotel, unless you only plan to visit the one world trade center. Pleasantly surprised by this hotel.
Our stay here was perfect. The staff were so nice and helpful. The rooms were very clean and nicely decorated. The bed was one of the best hotel bed I ever slept on, and appreciated after all the walking around we did during our visit. The room was also quiet, we did not have much city street noise and were not disturbed during the night at all. The bathroom had a comfortable tub/shower and the water could get as hot as you could stand. All in all this was a wonderful hotel and any we will hopefully stay here on any trip we take to the NYC.
Amazing hotel!! Hotel staff were so nice and accommodating, the hotel provided free cold water and ice, there was vending machines at our use. The free breakfast in the mornings was filling and delicious. The beds were very comfortable and the shower pressure was amazing. Stayed in a double room and although it wasnt huge there was adequate space for four girls and their luggage. The hotel is in a good location near to many of the downtown tourist attractions and at the edge of Chinatown
Stayed at this hotel over the summer and we liked it so much we are staying there over thanksgiving week. Location is very cool being in Chinatown and right by little Italy. Great restaurants in the area. The staff here are very nice and helpful. Rooms are very clean and plenty of space for a hotel in the city. Breakfast is at a restaurant a few doors down. Definitely recommend this hotel for price, local ambiance and proximity to major subway lines. Looking forward to our stay there next week.
Decided not to do the times square tourist trap this time and ended up here. Way more relaxing and the food in the area is amazing. Complimentary breakfast at Mamas was incredible. Hotel staff were extremely pleasing and the room itself was clean. The bed slept like a dream with great views of downtown Manhattan. Felt safe in the neighborhood and my kids loved the park across the street with all the friendly neighborhood kids.
Wonderful hotel in an excellent location in Chinatown. Super convenient as its nearby some great restaurants and right next to the parking garage. The staff was very accommodating and even upgraded our room for our special occasion with a balcony that offers beautiful views of the city! Breakfast is served at the Mama Eatery restaurant next door and each room is only given 2 vouchers, regardless of the number of guests. However most hotels in Chinatown area dont even offer free breakfast at all, so this was not a bother. Also their shower has the strongest water pressure Ive ever experienced at a hotel...Will definitely stay here again next time we visit Manhattan!
Best stay ever in NYC! Hotel has clean spacious rooms awesome location for visiting Chinatown and little Italy or a few blocks to the 9/11 memorial. The best thing about the hotel is the staff! Ricky was so helpful and made it all that more special a stay! We will be back again and again!
The price doesn’t match the services and amenities. Upon arriving, we were trying to find parking which the hotel doesn’t have any. We had to park in a parking garage that charged us over $50! I know that to you that might sounds crazy and unreal because we thought the same way, too. You would think that the hotel would have some type of deal or discount with this parking garage knowing that they’ll have guests staying with them. After we finally checked in with the occupancy of 6 to our room, we noticed the walls had black marks all over it, the beddings weren’t clean, there weren’t enough towels in the bathroom for six people, and one of the electrical outlets didn’t work. So, saving the best for last, as we went down to get breakfast, only 2 PEOPLE are allowed to get breakfast but it’s 6 of us!!! And they give you two vouchers to go next door to eat breakfast. We paid including taxes of $197.66 for the type of “services & amenities”. We will never return.
First time staying at this place and it was 2 days because my apartment nearby was under renovation. First night was very comfortable and nice with the view of Columbus park, with flat screen TV direct TV and wifi. Now about the con. A hotel should have enough inventory for its guest. There were no toothbrush and toothpaste for us. I dont know how you run out. I mean as a hotel you should have enough. And most hotel have complimentary waters per day but if you stay longer then a day they will not add more water for you the following day. But overall the people were nice and try to help and the night was comfortable.
We had a great stay at the Hotel Mulberry. We stayed there three nights. The staff was really friendly and helpful, the room was clean, quiet, the beds were very comfortable and the pillows are awesome. We had a great view out our room and each morning and night would check it out. It is an easy walk to a subway station from the hotel. It is also a 10 minute walk to the Brooklyn Bridge and a 20 minute walk to the 9/11 Memorial. If we go back to NYC we would stay there again. Oh, and book through the hotels website for the best price and some offers.
Great location. The water pressure in the shower was excellent. The rooms were clean and quiet. The walls are a little banged/scuffed up, but thats just aesthetics. Perfect for a place to sleep for a weekend. Stayed here for a bachelorette weekend. Was able to easily walk around Chinatown, little italy, LES (for going out), and to the world trade center.
I was just there for this past weekend (2/27-3/1) to visit for the New Year. I am so glad to see a nice boutique hotel in Chinatown, NY! Overall, it was very nice. The cleaning staff and maintenance guys were very helpful and friendly. We found this place conveniently located and well priced.I must say that when we checked in, Eddie, at the front desk was great. The other front desk guys on Sat and Sunday were not as friendly nor helpful but it was fine.I think that the check in and check out process is good and the computer in the lobby for boarding passes is good.I would like to see a much warmer approach by the desk staff at all times which would get them a 5 star rating from me.
Best hotel I could have asked for. The rate of the room was the best price I found. The location was ideal as I was close to the Canal subway station. You are in Chinatown but within walking distance to much of south Manhattan. The beds were amazing, they were firm but soft at the same time. I forgot a toothbrush and they supplied me with one. The room/bathroom were very clean. The maid service was very good. The hotel is located near many late night restaurants and taxis were easy to catch outside the hotel.
Nice hotel in the China town area of NYC. Looks to be recently remodeled. Very nicely done. The breakfast next door was a nice start to the day. Plenty of local shopping with lots of great deals. Very friendly sales people. The local markets are very authentic. Fruits meats etc.
BEWARE THE MUSIC IN THE PARK VIEW ROOMS - We paid extra for a hotel with a view of Columbus Park. A nice change from the usual rooms with the view of another building. HOWEVER, Chinese music plays from 9AM to 10PM in the park daily in the summer. IT NEVER STOPS. Want a nap after a long morning? Hope you can sleep though wild singing and the droning Chinese melodies. I would have given this place 4 stars easy if not for this. The free breakfasts are substantial, the staff is friendly, the rooms are clean, and the beds are comfortable. Overall this is a solid budget NY hotel. But that damned music that just wouldnt quit ruined this for us.
We really enjoyed our stay here. They have free WiFi, complimentary water bottles and a slot to put your key card in so that the lights turn on. 2 people per room get free breakfast provided a few doors down at Mama Eatery restaurant. They dont have a have a laundromat there, but they do have a laundromat next door from them.
Best kept secret in NYC! Dont be fooled by the hotels Chinatown location, this establishment scores five stars in all areas, and its not even expensive by New York City standards, as you can easily book reservations for $150-$180 a night. Rooms are sparkling clean, quiet and spacious (again, by NYC standards), staff is friendly, breakfast is great (also free!), and the location is amazing. 5/5.
This quaint hotel off the bustling streets of mulberry is quite a catch. I was impressed with the décor the quietness of the hotel and it is walking distance with in a lot of really cool hidden treasures. My husband and I needed an escape from life. With four kids and busy jobs sometimes it is hard to find a decent price in the big city. This place was reasonable, offers a free breakfast. My husband and I needed an umbrella and it was nothing for them to accommodate us. We missed our first night and the hotel was able to work with us keeping us in the same room and gave the next night at a discount. I was very pleased and look forward to going back there in a couple of weeks.
Amazing hotel! Our second time visiting Hotel Mulberry, we stayed on the penthouse floor. Rooms are modern and clean, had large screen tv with direct tv cable, three windows opened, though the entire wall was windows overlooking the park below with fantastic view of The Freedom Tower; to sets of curtains, opaque and sun blocking. Room has mini fridge, and kurig machine, slippers, shower robes, iron board in closet. Front desk staff were friendly and helpful. Water pressure in the shower was great. We skipped breakfast in the morning, but did take advantage of the coffee in the lobby. Elevator is quick. Only complaint would be the thermostat had a lock code and air was set to turn on at 82, so it was a bit warm in the room, but we just opened the windows to enjoy the breeze.
WONDERFUL!!!! This was a great surprise in the middle of Chinatown. The staff at the hotel was BEYOND accommodating and they were all extremely friendly. This is a small hotel, but very clean and quiet. The rooms are not big, so if you require a lot of space you may want to reconsider, but if you are simply looking for affordable, peace/quiet and friendly...THIS IS YOUR PLACE. It was wonderful waking up in the morning and walking across the street to the beautiful park, (which always has some kind of activity going on). I cannot say enough about how the staff of this hotel will go above and beyond to make your stay stress free and enjoyable. Thank you Hotel Mulberry for a wonderful weekend. We will definitely be back...often.
I would definitely recommend Hotel Mulberry to friend. Easy upfront offloading of your luggage & a safe secure parking garage just 3 doors down. Pleasant and helpful staff. Breakfast is provided by the ladies at Moms 5 doors in the other direction. Clean, comfortable accommodations & an incredible view. All in all, my stay at Hotel Mulberry has been a pleasure & will certainly be staying here again. In closing Id like to send a special thanks to the staff for their welcoming & professional demeanor. Much appreciated...
Ive just stayed 3 nights at this hotel and I can only say good things about it. It is a modest hotel but its extremely clean and efficient. And of course, their prices are very low compared to anything else you find in Manhattan. The service is really good and everyone is pleasant and trying to help. The thing I didnt like much about the hotel, was that the breakfast was serviced by an outside restaurant (Mama Eatery). You would have to take a coupon from the front desk and then walk to street and down few doors. Not too bad except when the weather is harsh. I also wish they had a fitness room... But otherwise, its a great place to sleep in when youre in downtown Manhattan. At night, the area is pretty silent and you need to walk quite a bit in order to get to Soho but that was fine for me. On the other hand, there are some excellent Chinese restaurants in the vicinity.
My mom and I stay at Hotel Mulberry every time we come to the city. It is the most affordable hotel and is just as nice inside as any other hotel in the city. They are always very helpful and know all the best places in Chinatown. We had a room on the fourth floor, right next to the luggage room, no noise whatsoever it was a very peaceful room. For a double room it is extremely spacious and the beds are large and comfy. The bathrooms are great, with a nice shower, pretty tile and GREAT smelling shampoo, conditioner and amazing smelling lotions. We almost always get to check into our room a little early, theyre very amenable. I always suggest Hotel Mulberry to everyone I know, best hotel right in Chinatown and with an amazing view of the courthouse for those Law and Order fans. Great restaraunts nearby like Num Wah for dumplings and Il Cortille down the street in Little Italy for the best Italian. Di Poalos is a few blocks down, the original Italian deli. There are some John Gotti hideouts in the neighborhood to peek at. The original Chinatown arcade thats still there and my mother went to in the 70s. Just an all around great hotel if you want great amenities and a real taste of New York City, not those ritzy BS time square hotels.
The family and I spent a Saturday night here and were very pleasantly surprised. We had a double Queen room and it was very spacious and very clean. We received 2 complimentary breakfasts at Mamas, 4 doors down the street. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, we stored luggage with them both before check in and after check in. Columbus park across narrow little Mulberry street is beautiful and lively all day long with soccer and Ma Zhong players. Make sure you check out the Tai Chi guys in the early morning. I would definitely go back here.
We stayed here one night in one of the balcony rooms. The room was very clean and it served our purposes well. The balcony was nice because you could see the downtown skyline right in front of the room. Although the imposing criminal court complex we straight ahead, it added some definite New Yorkness to the experience. The staff was exceptionally kind and helpful. They went out of their way to keep our bags when we arrived early and left late. We bought some wine and they brought us a corkscrew. The breakfast was somewhat unusual, but most things in Chinatown were different. It was nice seeing all the people doing tai chi in the park in the morning. I would stay here again.
My family and I try to visit NYC every year and we always stay at the Mulberry. Nice and clean and (usually) quiet. In the heart of Chinatown, what was originally the 5 points district. If you get the room with a balcony, you have an awesome view of the new World Trade Center, which is only a few blocks away.
I flew to NY from Texas and arrived at the hotel to find they had no available water and don’t offer refunds. They were kind enough to provide a bucket of mystery water to wash my feces from the toilet, but there’s not enough to shower that feeling away. Here’s to hoping no one has diarrhea.
This was our 2nd stay. We love being in Chinatown. Our kingsized bed was very comphy and the room was quiet. As it was Sunday the continental breakfast was in the lobby. I recommend booking a room overlooking the park where you can watch the folks doing their tai chi.
This hotel is like an oasis in Manhattan. I was traveling with my 2 teenage daughters, and this is a quiet neighborhood very near the canal and brooklyn bridge train stations. This is a great jumping iff point to NYC at very reasonable prices. Would definitely stay again.
December 30th I stayed at this hotel but unfurtunately I put my wedding ring at the night table and I said unfurtunately because my wedding ring it disappears, I call two times and today is January the 4th and I never received an answer from the hotel Im extremely dissapointed for this and of course I could never imagine something like this could happen to me, so this is not a safe place to stay, how can somebody steal a wedding ring from you.
Very poor customer service, Unauthorized charges to my card card, do not trust them with your credit card information. I tried to resolve the issue with the Hotel but the dont care. Stay away there are thousands of better options in NYC and places that wont scam you.
Nice little hotel in the middle of Chinatown. We had a large deck overlooking One World Trade Center. breathtaking. Directly across the street is Columbus Park, where the locals practice Tai Chi in the mornings. Great atmosphere: the view, the smells, the Chinese music... The rooms are small but well-kept, very friendly staff.
The room assigned to us, on the 5th floor, was clean, large and with modern furnishings, but with a view, however, on the wall of the building opposite. We had 3 double beds as we were 5. The bathroom is quite comfortable and clean.Negative element was the breakfast that is provided at a cafeteria adjacent to the Hotel (from Mama, certificate of hygiene A, which is the maximum rating) and is in pure American styleThe staff is cmq kind and helpful, but you need to speak English well.
A good experience in global. Clean rooms, good daily cleaning service. Very correct and attentive attention. They serve coffee at the lobby for customers and you can use your pc and the printer for free if you need to. The Wi-Fi works great. The only negative point is that breakfast is not served and they have an agreement with a cafeteria next to where the service is good but they are not friendly, they only give two tickets per room even if it is 4 but with two dishes they can eat three at least. The quality of the food is not bad, but they only have 6 options and everything ends up having the same flavor. I would usually go there again. Good views of the new One World building and the area of Low Manhattan.

2022-02-15Is this an outright 5* luxury hotel? Of course not - its 3* in terms of strict classification, but what it sets out to do, it does very well. Prices are exceptionally competitive for Manhattan and staff are consistently cheerful, helpful and friendly. Rooms and communal areas are clean and well-lit, if not the most polished. The hotel feels secure and welcoming.Beds are very comfortable with generously thick pillows. Water pressure is good, and water temperatures are reasonable (though seems to vary a little with time of day).A couple of minor quibbles, but nowhere near important enough to knock it down a star given what it does right. Firstly, the AC seemed to be temperamental. Fortunately, it was winter, so opening the window cooled down the room more than adequately. Secondly, TVs are dated models with limited channels, but if youre sitting in an NYC hotel room whining about the TV when you should be out doing something in the greatest city in the world then your priorities are askew.WiFi appears to be reliable and of acceptable speed. All in all, against expectations for the budget and location, it really performs very well. Would happily recommend for those on a budget or who want to be in the thick of the Mott St. end of Chinatown.

2022-06-30The room was surprisingly roomy in view of the fact that it is in Manhattan, but the price is pretty reasonable. We like the windows with glass all the way to the floor, giving us a nice view of the park across the street. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We were able to store our bags before we checked in as well as after we checked out.

2022-06-23Excellent location - right in Chinatown, NY. Manhattan and Brooklyn are not too far where we are. Nearby to alot of cafes, restaurants and bars.Room is small but enough for the night that we were staying at. Bathroom is quite nice with sleek interior.

2021-10-21We stayed in room 1201 - it has a large balcony with a view of several landmarks, including 1 WTC, as well as Chinatown, the Empire State Building, and the Chrysler Building. You get a really great view of the city! The room, itself, was cozy and much larger than expected. The bed was really comfortable and slept like a dream. The shower had excellent water pressure and the tub was larger than a typical hotel. There was an iron, ironing board, robes, a desk and chair, coffee maker, fridge, seating outside on the balcony as well as two very comfortable sitting chairs in the room. The staff were also super friendly and helpful. They made us feel welcome and were always a pleasure to interact with. The atmosphere was quiet and felt very private. We didnt hear street traffic at night or other guests. The price is way below some of the other less comfortable hotels Ive stayed in nearby, but dont let that fool you. Ill definitely be staying here again anytime I have extended business in lower Manhattan.

2022-03-20Positive: Location, friendliness and helpfulness of staff, comfort of beds, security. All were excellent Negative: Our thermostat was cranked the second day which made for a hot sleep. The spare towel shelf, under counter in the bathroom stuck out a bit and hence got in the way of ankles and door closing.

2022-03-04Reasonably priced hotel, in the heart of Chinatown and close to Financial district, Little Italy and Soho. No parking at this facility. If youre driving here, find a parking garage on your own. I repeat, NO PARKING.Also keep in mind, Mulberry street is very busy. Theres a couple of funeral places on this block and they take up a lot of spaces.Perfect hotel to crash and rest up and check out Chinatown.

2022-04-17SCAM of a place. I prebooked 2 rooms a long time ago. They gave us keys to a room that was already booked with someones stuff already in the room. If you want your stuff unsecure and stolen, book this hotel! They told us to leave one room because we were being too loud, which we were not. Not a warning was given and we were threatened they would call the cops.Upon check out of the other room, they mentioned they smelled smoke in the room, which never happened. They told us they would keep the security deposit, but what they were really smelling was the mold from every corner of the place. I will be getting my lawyer involved for any unnecessary charges. Do not stay here.

2022-06-18Front desk girl was an ANGEL, hotel was clean and comfortable! amazing location as well because it’s 5 minutes to walk to soho, little italy, chinatown itself, LES, nolita etc. there was a park at the front of the hotel and there were nice events and music from the morning to night, but not during the night when we were sleeping so it was okay. hotel also had so many safety measures. when we come back in november, we are already planning to stay here again. Once again the girl at the front desk was so incredibly sweet, and btw there is bag storage! 10/10 i’d give it 6 stars if i could.

2022-05-10Service was great. Clean rooms. No vendor machine for food. Ice is in sm bags of ice made up. Close walking distance to lots of things.
