My friends did the Illusionist room. We had a blast working on the puzzles together. The puzzles were very challenging, but there was more than enough in the game to solve them. Also, the owners and designers of the games are super nice. Theyre very skilled at providing just enough of a hint to lead you down the right path while not giving away the solution completely. Ill definitely be back!
Had a blast battling against the Greek Gods and Pandora’s Box. Staff was super friendly, and the atmosphere encouraged having fun. Good, clean fun.
In the pandemic era, it is so tough to truly escape from stress and immerse yourself and family in a truly fun activity. We went to Hour to Exit to do just that. And it delivered, and more. Truly an amazing experience. Really fun, the right level of challenge, the guide was perfect, and the customer service was top notch. If you are looking for a pandemic safe family friendly activity in southern Westchester, you gotta try this out!
It’s not fun. People yell while ur doing your escape room and they don’t help you at all. When the timers done they come at you with a mad face like they are mad at you because it ended. They also spy on you
We had the BEST time at Hour to Exit. The host was so friendly and helpful, and the escape room we did (Dorm Rules) was really fun (and challenging). We were impressed with all of the detail that went into the room, and we can’t wait to go back to try another one. This was a great family activity! We highly recommend it!
Had a blast here! We did Pandora’s Box and had so much fun. Totally worth the money. It allowed for my family and I to brain storm together and find our way out of this puzzle. Love that it’s right next to home. Had no idea this place was around. Definitely heading back.
The Hour to Escape (New Rochelle) was a great experience for our Church Youth Group. The staff was so accommodating in our booking our visit and the day of in welcoming and setting us up! The location was easy to find and ideal. Our group split up into two groups, each doing a different game and both enjoyed it and found it challenging. The kids cannot wait to come back!!!
I had purchased Pandoras Box for my Daughter and I. The women at the front desk (forgive me for forgetting her name), was so helpful and suggested doing the Dorm room since it was only the two of us. We had a BLAST. Just when you think there couldnt be another clue...BAM...here goes one. Not rocket science but thought provoking enough. I felt safe and secure. Did not have a worry about COVID. Facility was very clean. There was also clues and help when needed. Front desk was so sweet. She showed us how to work the locks, took plenty of photos and helped any time we requested. I will definitely return.
Excellent service. Very informative about all the details for the party. We celebrated my daughter 13th Birthday. The girls had a lot of fun. Would definitely use them again.
It’s nice to have an escape room closer to us rather than having to travel to Manhattan. We had a great time and will definitely come back to try other rooms.
Run, do not walk, to this place!I took my boyfriend here for his birthday and we did the Escape the Illusionist room. Our game master Melissa (I think her name) was amazing. She gave great clues, explained the game well and was really kind. She really knew her stuff! The room itself was so much fun. The details were amazing. The room we had was set in the 1930s and had great decor related to that, and also magic. I will not give away any surprises but the room exceeded our expectations. The gentleman who greeted us was also lovely!(Im posting this on yelp too, but dont worry its still me! Just spreading the word :D)

We booked Dorm Rules and it was beyond expectation! As slightly novice escape room players we were excited to try out this game and it set the bar high! Our game master Brittany was exceptional at explaining the rules and reminding us of them through out the game. The hints were perfectly told as to push us just in the right direction when we were stuck. The room was challenging, but not at all discouraging! Each aspect of the game was well designed and there were even some surprising elements that made the game that much more exciting.We highly recommend you check out Hour To Exit!!
Tv shows make escape rooms look big. This was the size of an average bedroom. HOWEVER, the fun youre going to have is way bigger! The setup is easy to navigate. The puzzles are just the right difficulty. The Narrator offers just the right amount of help. This was my first time and Im still vibing off how good a time we had. I would recommend it if youre looking for a simple fun way to spend an hour. Cost will run about the same as taking your family out to eat, so it doesnt price you out of doing both.
This place was so awesome! The individuals that run the place are really in to this experience and they want the parties to have a great experience. They do a really good job of reading the participants to find out if they are competitive or if theyre ok with getting help. This is a great family experience where the families can connect with each other and enjoy an hour filled with engagement and relationship building. I loved this and I will do it again and recommend families experience this place.
My husband, teenage daughter and I just did the Dorm Room Escape. It was a lot of fun! The challenge included some really unique clues and great puzzles, and the level of puzzlement was enough to keep us intrigued the whole time. Our game master was completely supportive as he gave us hints when we needed them (that was super helpful because at some moments I really felt clueless). We can’t wait to go back to try the other adventure!
Had an amazing time at hour to escape! It was a much needed date night and escape from the world for an hour. We actually needed longer time to solve the puzzle and they graciously let us go over time so we could figure it out. Our host was excellent, it was a great night. Would certainly return!
Hour To Escape is outstanding in so many ways. We booked two birthday parties this summer last minute when the weather wasnt cooperating. Brittany was always accessible and easy to talk too. Britany was extremely flexible and understanding. My 11 year old son, my 13 year old daughter and all their friends LOVED the rooms. My son and his friends did Pandoras Box and my daughter and her friends did the Illusionist. They continue to rave about their experiences and cant wait to return. This place is professional, clean, well run, appropriately priced and truly gives a personal touch that you dont experience today. Hour to Escape is easy to find, with ample street parking, demonstrations, instruction and practice before entering the rooms, exciting rooms with challenges and fun surprises, photos at the end. I brought 25 students to experience the excitement of an escape room. They had an amazing time, they enjoyed working together to escape their individual rooms. They played and solved the various mini mysteries that were located in the foyer. We also utilized the free space for lunch and to play games. They didn’t want to leave and begged to come back. The staff was pleasant and thorough when providing instructions. I can’t wait to bring my next group of students!!!
I’ve done every room—my favorite is the illusionist. My bf and I have done well over a dozen escape rooms and these are some of the best we’ve experienced. Way more than just a bunch of locks on boxes with immersive lights, sound and tech.
We came to Hour To Exit to celebrate my cousins birthday. We had such a great time and memories that I know we will share for years to come. The game we played, Elude the Illusionist was challenging but still a lot of fun. The clues really forced you to think and just when you thought it was over, there was MORE!! Again, we had a great time and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Hour to Exit to anyone who wants to have great fun with family and friends!!
We just did the Pandoras box with a group of 6. It was very well done and we enjoyed it immensely. The people in our group have done several escape the rooms prior to this and we were impressed with the set up. It was the easy level room but we found it to be more intermediate but we liked the challenge. We took 50 minutes to complete it and we are already planning to return next month for the more difficult room!The staff was very friendly and helpful and their setup and introduction to Pandoras box was impressive. I Highly recommend this for a fun group activity for puzzle lovers.
We had so much fun in Pandoras Box. A lot of different elements to how to solve for getting each light on. First time finishing and the additional clues helped a lot. I want to try another room.
We had the best experience! The staff was so accommodating, enthusiastic and welcoming. This was the best escape room we’ve visited and we loved it so much we ended up doing three rooms back to back to back. The rooms were challenging and exciting and you really felt like you were in a different place. Highly recommend. We can’t wait to come back!
My experience was terrific. The staff was friendly and courteous and made it a safe place to have fun. The staff explained the rules clearly. The room was clean and safe. It was really a lot of fun and it really makes one think outside of the box. Thanks again for the magnificent work

The puzzles here are fun and challenging! I love how immursive and world-like the designs of the games are. I have tried 2 escape rooms here and will soon be back for the third. I also heard they are working on another room?? Cant wait!
My group has done more than 50 rooms in the US/Europe and we found this place to be amazing. The illusionist room was very entertaining, with well functioning technology, and an interesting story that kept you engaged. There were no odd leaps in logic in any of the puzzles, everything flowed smoothly. We definitely recommend this location!
We were a small group (kids 7, 9 and 12 and one adult). We did the pandora box room. We had a lot of fun. Each challenge brought different set of skills and kept everyone engaged.Duane was wonderful guiding us thru it all.My son loved it so much, he didn’t want to leave and is now organizing to come back and do another room. Highly recommend especially for puzzle and enigma solver type of person!
My family and I had the best time. We did two rooms and it is by far the best escape room we have ever visited. We were on vacation and decided to give this place a try. I think this made our vacation. Thank you to the owner. You guys really took the time to make sure my family had an exceptional day. If in NY again we will definitely come back.

The owners are amazing very attentive. Clean and spacious environment. Great for team building, friends, couples and etc. had a great time back with some old high school friends they are challenging to the point that you get anxious to escape ahaha! Totally looking forward to do another room. We went for the magician room and it had some mind blowing features moving walls, mirrors crazy!
We just completed Elude the Illusionist. Fantastic design, unique clues, fun theme and owners were great. We are escape room fans and have done well over 50 rooms in a variety of cities. (Trying to compile a list to have an exact count). This room is in the top 10%!! We had a lot of fun and can’t wait to return soon!
The IT department at our company attended Hour To Exit last night and had an AMAZING time. We had a dedicated, separate room where chairs and tables were provided for us to setup dinner. This enabled us to have an outside caterer come in before our arrival and setup dinner. When we arrived all of food was setup, hot and prepared. There was a refrigerator and games available while we ate. The escape rooms are incredible! They range from slightly challenging to very difficult! Our team made it out with two minutes to spare! On a Tuesday night we found parking right in front of the building! The city parking meters take coins or credit cards which is helpful! Thank you again Duane and Brittany for facilitating an amazing, team building outing for team! Will definitely do this again!

Hour to Exit was my first time experiencing an escape room. I went with two of my cousins who were apprehensive. To say the least we were all having a ball, especially since we escaped in time. I had so much fun and went a few times after. Each time was completely different. The owners are personable and Great!! I highly recommend you going. You will not be disappointed. We just came from the “Escape the Illusionist” room with 6 people and we LOVED it! The puzzles were interesting and fun, and it was truly a team effort to escape. The quality of the setup was one of the best I’ve seen. We will DEFINITELY be returning!

Came here with my wife, sisters and brothers. Chill friendly staff with cool escape themes. We went twice and escaped twice! The rooms are challenging and fun. If you want to get away from busy Manhattan, take the train ride here. Its close to great food spots and the metro North.

Stopped by today for my sons bday party and he totally loved it. Having tried others in myrtle beach this was definitely a go to for me. Games were challenging and very exciting. Had a group of 10 so the action was equally spread around between kids 9yrs-50yrs old. I found it aged appropriate for all and fun.. would totally recommend.. Many thanks!!

Brittney and Duane were very accommodating to our son’s request for an escape room birthday party. They were up front about the suggested minimum age of nine, due to difficulty of some of the puzzles, but allowed a group of seven year olds, some younger siblings and a few parents to attempt Pandora’s Box. They listened for when the birthday boy would ask for hints or guidance and kept the party moving. Everyone had a great time.
I was so intrigued about the business from the escape game down to the lobby. I was unable to find the entrance and the staff came outside to meet me which was extremely helpful. When we were playing the game the interaction between my group and the staff was amazing and after we escaped we were asked for our opinion which made us enjoy the experience even more. I look forward to the other rooms opening and seeing what this lovely business has to offer
I have never been to an Escape room before and let me tell you... it was a great experience and Im totally hooked. Brittany was great at explaining the rules and and it was a friends birthday and she made it a very personal experience! It was girls against boys and the girls ended up losing and I cant wait to go back to redeem myself!
This place was the best escape room I’ve been to. They just opened their business few weeks ago so it is super clean and very high tech. I could tell that they put a lot of thoughts together to come up with the ideas on the settings and the clues. I’d highly recommend this place. And we made it in time!

I went to Hour to Exit with my friends and daughter and we had an amazing time. Duane and his partner were friendly and very personable. We separated into two teams and competed against each other. It was the highlight of the kids’ vacation. I highly recommend.
My girlfriend and I are escape game enthusiasts and we decided to make a stop at New Rochelle to try out HTE (Hour to Exit). We did a 830pm Pandoras Box room and 930pm Elude the Illusionist room back to back. Although it was very last second, they gladly accommodated us and we appreciated it!Pandoras Box: Non-linear room and everyone is kept busy. Multiple things to work on in the room but teamwork is still key. Room was chilly but well take that over a steamy room any day! While Brittney, our amazing game master and owner of HTE was going over game rules, the room interacted with what she was saying which was pretty cool. Room atmosphere, decor, props, and puzzles were on point and was extremely fun. Escaped with 10 min to spare!Elude the Illusionist: WAY different from Pandoras Box, non-linear, and follows a story line somewhat. Again, everyone will be working on something, a lot of detail is involved, and a bunch of fun interactions. Nice mixture of tech and traditional locks were in the room and the room looked well-thought out. We were immersed in the setting of the room and it made the experience that much more fun. Escaped with 10 min to spare as well!Street parking available until 12am ($1 an hour) or in the parking lot across the street. Also, the actual entrance is on North Street! All in all, being a new escape room, its a very nice addition to New Rochelle. Only a 20 min drive from NYC or 40 min train ride from GCT, I recommend making your way to HTE for your next escape room adventure.
Love escape rooms and this place does not disappoint. Add that to the fact that it is owned by a lovely couple and you can be sure we will return. We have completed both the Pandoras Box and Elude the Illusionist rooms and look forward to the new rooms to come!
We played the hardest room they had which was difficult but approachable and very well done. Its clear to me that there is a lot of care and passion that went into that puzzle. Im excited that that they are so close and will definitely come back and try different rooms.

Ive done about 30 escape rooms and this place has got to be top 5 for me, fantasticly put together, tough enough to be difficult but also doable and incredibley innovative, absolutely loved it guys Ill deffinstely be back to try the 2 new ones there working on..

2022-04-25It was our first time here and I have to say, we had so much fun. We chose the Elude The Illusionist room/challenge. After lots of laughs, we were able to exit (escape) and complete the challenge. Everything was sanitized, super clean and all covid safety protocols were followed. The staff was super friendly and so helpful which made our experience that much more worth it. My family and I will definitely come back and try all the other rooms/challenges they have to offer. I highly recommend visiting Hour To Exit! Thanks for having us.

2022-02-14We visited this escape room (Pandoras Box) recently. Ive been to a number of Escape Rooms in NYC/Boston/SF, but the rest of my party experienced this as their first one.It was an interesting concept and definitely geared more toward younger ages, but ultimately felt just okay as an escape room. There was no mystery to what we needed to do. A few of the indicators that were supposed to tell us if we completed puzzles or not were not functional and we had to be told over the loudspeaker that puzzles were complete. Some interesting puzzles, but also one or two really tedious ones that really slowed down the pace. The room also relied a little too much on locks; if you have to explain how to use four different types of locks before the game starts, its not super exciting. Having it all be contained to a single room is also a slight bummer; multiple rooms lead to a better sense of progression.Also, maybe nitpicky, but not having any sort of props or anything to take photos with once complete feels like a missed opportunity.If youve never done one before, its a fine starting experience. For more experienced folks, look for a more in-depth experience elsewhere.

2022-01-17Went today & had fun! Super interactive with different surprise rooms. My group and I are big fans of escape rooms and this is definitely top on our list. Will come back to solve the other rooms!

2022-04-15I highly recommend Hour to Exit. Ive gone there for a second time and it was awesome! My first time was in a dorm room which was a bit complicated but had some help from the staff. My second time today, I was in the Illusionist room, which was great! As I was figuring out clues with help from the staff, I figured out how to open the door to the next room and the next room!I believe what also made it easier for me was the experience in the dorm room. Ive learned not to overthink.I would definitely visit again!

2022-05-29My first escape room from today and awesome experience. The room its self was so fun and the guy there was super nice. Overall, ten outta ten, recommend. Most certainly will be coming back 👍

2022-06-26I just want to give a big “Thank You” to the architect of the rooms that I am assuming is also the owner. He went above and beyond by giving us extra time to escape and took pics for us after. Highly recommend and this place seems like a great place for kids birthday parties!!!!

2022-03-21Came here for the first time for a team building activity. I had a great time and the staff were friendly and informative. This would make a great outing for coworkers, families, friends or dates. I would definitely love to return.
