Started at Kiosk at end of Raymond Rd. π‘ to β₯οΈ to π΅ trails.Took π΅ to Mountain Rd along Road to Hathor Rd. ,right up to trail marker on the right. About 1 mile on the road.Once on the forest trail, we had two climbs of several hundred yards which measured 30 degrees straight up! Leaves and loose, wet gravel made for a slow climb. Lots of brambles which , when grown, wont be fun to walk through. Perhaps a few steps or even earthen water bars might make the climbs a bit easier to navigate. It is a good thing that the SRT has been linked even though it includes some trafficked roads.

A small and secluded parking at the end of the road is the start of the Lenape ridge trail. Be aware of at the start of the trail the intersections are not marked once on the trail itβs much better. This time of year you can see out past the trees

The bike rides I took was great but the trails are not marked well at all. There was multiple times that I had to stop and backtrack just to find a single trail marker just to stay on track. The views and the trails were fun they just need more and better signage.

We went in the Raymond Drive entrance. We headed to the white path because it was the shortest. We had to cross thru yellow, red, blue. Not a problem. We found a look out straightened up. Only problem was the path was not adequately marked and we got lost. So pretty woods. Just be careful.

We parked at the lot at the end of Raymond Drive. Starting from there we took the yellow trail, took a right on the red trail, and then a left onto the blue trail to the first vista. We then came back the blue trail and followed the white trail back to the beginning. The trails were awesome. The ticks were horrendous! We mustve taken a dozen off of each other while hiking. When we got to our hotel, the clerk noticed one on us. In our hotel room we took 9 off of us. In the morning, we found 4 more. The ticks are crazy there!!!

I grew up in the area and just love this place. Now that its open to the public and full of nicely maintained trails its even better. OSI and the NY/NJ Trails Conference are buying up adjacent land and adding to it through land swaps. Parking can be an issue but the new parking area on Minisink Avenue (just past the yellow trailer) is very nice and can fit a dozen cars or so. There are other access points on Route 6 and near Lake Hawthorne as well. The best view in the lower area is off an unmarked trail that runs between the White and Yellow (formerly red) trails. You get a view of the golf course below and enough of Port Jervis so that it looks quaint without the run-down former industrial parts being obvious. Trails in the section of forest above I-84 are not as well maintained and parking is roadside and very limited but there are better views. There is no parking at the trailhead near Greenville (as of 2015) or at the intersection of Rt. 6 and Mountain Road nearby which makes that section difficult to access. Most of the trails are on the TC map 123 Kittatinny North 2 which is available both printed on Tyvek and digitally on the Avenza PDF Maps app. The free SRT map also covers the area but in less detail.

Shown as easy, very rocky, steep and hard to climb over. If you are a beginner hiker, do not go on this

I really liked this place contrasts absolutely with the Center of N.Y. It is a small forest and the locals can paddle around, that place is cool and that yes in the snow season also makes other Christmas landscapes!
