A lively brunch scene in Hell’s Kitchen! Great value with an appetizer sampler (grape leaves stuffed with rice, roasted cauliflower +, and an entree. We tried the shakshuka and hummus with shawarma main dishes, both were delicious and served with thick, hot pita to sop up all the mouthwatering juices. The meal was nicely presented and the bottomless sangria was a great accompaniment 😋
Amazing falafel...light and crispy. The hummus was among the best Ive ever had, and I grew up in the Middle East. Dessert was absolutely fantastic as well. Be sure to try the limonada - its a great way to end your meal, The frozen version is absolutely amazing. Staff is super friendly and welcoming.
Been here many times and its one of the most dependable vegetarian restaurants around! Absolutely love their veggie taco with cauliflower tahini and pita. Do ask for their green spicy paste - its got a great kick for spice lovers. Their shashuka and hummus are fantastic too.
The food was amazing. Fattouch salad with chicken, hummus with chicken schwarma, dessert that a chocolate mousse like thing, another with some birds nest like dough, and the best baklava weve eveer had. Seriously. Would go back just for the baklava!Staff was OK (just picked up takeout).Only reason for only 4 stars is the cost. Even for NYC, very expensive. Almost $100 for two.Still, well be back.
I tried Hummus Kitchen few months ago, and as an Israeli, I didnt really like the hummus. Back then I took a plain hummus plate with tahini and pita, and the hummus was too thick and the taste was a a bit flat. Last Saturday, my friends wanted me to meet them there, as it was a close location to everyone. This time I took the Brunch fixed price, which is 16$, and got appetizers and as an entree I took hummus, again, with egg on top of it and peppers and all sorts. I must say, this time was amazing. The hummus was light, flavorful and fresh. The appetizers were so delicious, especially the salmon and the grape leaves filled with rice. The pitas were fresh and warm and delicious and overall it was such a great experience. Our hostess, Noa, was a sweetheart and our table was cozy and great for a brunch get together. All six of us really loved the food and the vibe.
The wrap in this place is out of this world. One of the best Felafel’s wraps I’ve had in a very long time. Our server was very friendly and nice. She had to remind me to wear my mask when I got up to go to wash my hands. I appreciated her friendly reminder. The portion was great for lunch and the restaurant location is amazing. It’s about 10 min walk to Times Square!
Cozy hole in the wall place with cute decor, but service was pretty bad and portions were small. They were also extremely stingy with the pita - they expected me to eat the below pictured bowl of hummus with half a small pita for my entree. I had to ask for the pita, too.
This is a cozy little spot in Hells kitchen for a quick meal. I love that they have pictures & videos on their iPad menu that makes it super easy to decide your order. The service was excellent, very friendly, attentive.Other than that, I didnt find anything else that was special. The food was very average. Some dishes - the falafel and babaganush, were good but the rest that we ordered - Mediterranean red chicken, hummus, and the deserts, were just average.Nothing bad, just not the best in town.I dont think Ill go back here. Might be a good stop if youre looking to satisfy a quick craving for Mediterranean food.
You may walk close to this restaurant and not see it. It is close to Broadway between 52 and 51. I looked online on Google and found it. The cuisine is Israeli and the Kitchen is Kosher. It reminded me of a restaurant in Tel Aviv where the plates are based with hummus. The restaurant is tiny. The food, however, greater (in terms of flavor) than the pictures. It looks clean, cozy, and modern. The music is seductive; a mix of Mediterranean and Folk. Our waiter: oh boy!He knows how to sell a dish. His name is Lauchlin, find him! His recommendations were the jackpot! The size of the dishes compared to the price is really proportional.Recommended: the Lemonana, falafel (sin), and the cauliflower, and the Shawarma Hummus.
Great place to go for Sunday brunch! Value is amazing... I decided to get a regular meal - shawarma hummus plate - and pay $5.50 for brunch appetizer. Ask for some of the flavorful and not too spicy, greeen hot sauce. It made the dish perfect. Service is good. I got what I needed when I needed it. There are not a lot of wait staff so it can slow down a bit if there is a rush of customers at once.
Delicious casual healthy Mediterranean. We ordered the mazze trio (three appetisers for $21), the vegetarian couscous and the green shakshuka. Everything was fresh and flavourful. The perfect comfort food for a cold day. When we picked up the food we’ve learned that they also have a new Mexican menu that we can’t wait try!
Decided to give this place a shot, I been seeing it around Instagram. I must say the food was truly spectacular. We had a reservation set for 7pm, and it seemed busy from the outside , but they had our table reserved. We did the Mazze Trio which includes and 3 Appetizers or small bites you would say . Went with Hummus , Babaganoush and Falafel. Only thing I found a bit strange was that it only came with a single pita. Two out the 3 appetizers were like dips and a split pita didn’t cut it . But they brought another one right away when I asked for it. We got a bit full from it and decided to order just a single entree as it seems like a huge portion . The Chicken Shawarma was delicious and good size portion. Ended out meal with a chocolate mouse cake and coconut dessert . Overall I truly recommended this spot !!Ambiance- 10/10Service - 10/10Reservation- YesHappy Hour - YesParking - Good LuckWiFi - Not Sure
Ive in ny for two weeks, visited dozens of restaurants, different kitchens, cheap and quite expensive ones. But this is by all means the best. It is very cozy, atmosphere is very comfortable, waiters are very polite and friendly, food is delicious. I liked wine also. And its not expensive at all. Im lucky I found it, been here several times.
Smooth hummus and generous lunch portions. Ive tried the chicken hummus and shawarma hummus along with falafel and babaganoush sides. Pitas come out hot with regular and whole wheat options. Although the initial two pieces they bring out is enough, they give more when the hummus main comes out.
In town with family for a vacation and were in the mood for good Mediterranean food. Found this place online and went there for dinner.Amazing place - food was the best I have had in a very long time! Falafel was to die for - Fresh and flavorful! We tried a lot of items. Each one was freshly made and even my picky son was stuffed.Highly recommend their Babaganoush - excellent smoky flavor.A must visit if in town, looking for Mediterranean fare.
Omg the food is soo good. Im so happy I discovered this place! Authentic beyond delicous medditerannean food that has the perfect flavor and I left feeling amazing. Clean cute quaint restaurant with excellent service, I will be coming back again for sure. I ordered the Schwarma plate with chic pea chummus, it was fantastic!
We were seated promptly (not sure if they take reservations, but if so, I recommend you do that just in case). Our waiter Jonathan was amazing and although they were very busy and the kitchen had a lot to cook, he took care of us very well and we were extremely pleased with the food. The hummus was amazing, and I especially enjoyed the one with mushrooms and the one with chicken. I highly recommend this place and will be coming back!
Pleasantly surprised by the food and service of this place! The highlight for me was the pita tacos (basically pita pocket). The pita bread was warm, soft but also chewy. I had rarely tasted that type of texture in pita before. Its intriguing, I will certainly go back to taste it again!
Very nice place, great service, wonderful food, everything we ate was so delicious! My family consists of Vegans, Vegetarians and meat lovers we were all very happy to eat here because we all found something to enjoy. The only draw back is the wooden bench seating along the wall without a bottom cushion, by the time we finished our meal my bottom was uncomfortable. So bring your own cushion in case you end up seating on one of the benches. Other than that, I highly recommend this restaurant.
In a sea of good Turkish, Persian and Lebanese resturants I found this Israeli style Hummus Kitchen a step above. I had to try the namesake with portobello mushroom and loved it. The chicken gyro salad with pumpkin was wonderfully unique. I went a second and loved the tomato and beef stew. The flavors are definitely Israeli, the service was good and as a side bar it is kosher. Highly recommended.
The food is good but the value is not there. You spend over $20 bucks for a bowl of hummus and a small handful of meat. Hummus is the Mediterranean equivalent of black beans to mexican food. You can make a gallon for $5 worth of chickpeas. The 8 oz of hummus I got with the 4 cubes of meat were delicious, but I was hungry again in 3 hours. There are other places that offer more food for the same price at pretty equal quality.
Hummus kitchen catered our school event and the food was outstanding. We had many different dishes including salads and everything was delicious. Everybody was raving about the roasted cauliflower dish, the mashed potatoe pockets, the chicken kebabs and of course the Hummus! The Hummus is fluffy and fresh and you just cant stop eating it.
I was there one night last week with a party of 4 (2 adults, 2 kids). The adults had chicken kebob and the kids had grilled chicken and french fries. The food was good, but spicy. After we ordered, I asked the waitress if she could bring the fries for the kids while we were waiting because they were hungry. She said no, theyd have to wait for their orders to arrive. I told her they were hungry and there was nothing on the table (e.g., pita, rolls, crackers) to nibble on. All we had were the sodas wed ordered. She didnt seem to care, was very rude, and walked away. Our order arrived more than 10 minutes later by which time we were all very hungry. After we ate, we decided to order desserts. We had to wait another 15 minutes for them to arrive. The desserts were good except that the baklava portions were very small. While the food was good and the ambience (background Middle Eastern music) was nice, I was disappointed by the waiting times for food to be served, lack of anything on the table to eat while waiting, rude waitress, and small baklava dessert portions.
The food was wonderful. I had the red chicken, which was a little spicy, but ver good if you can tolerate the heat. They had good vegetarian options for my husband, which is uncommon for kosher-meat-restaurants. Management was rude, but the staff were lovely and nice. The decor was very well done. Would eat there again.
Pretty decent fix for Mediterranean food, however was expecting better taste of the Hummus. Great ambience and good service quality too. A chill place to hang out with friends while listening to some mind blowing music collection. A place to watch out for as they go along their journey.
We were three friends who had reservations for Sunday brunch. The place was extremely busy and noisy. They had one very inexperienced waiter who forgot what we asked him to bring. We ordered the Sunday brunch which was supposed to come with dishes of appetizers. They were very skimpy, we got a single bite size in each dish. The green Shakshuka was not good, instead of having the eggs over easy (as described in the menu) they were hard boiled and the sauce was semi sweet. It took a long time for the food to come so if you are having a pre theater meal take that into consideration. The Falafel my friend ordered was dry and the mint tea I ordered came only after we asked several times. To top it all of, the internal air conditioner started spewing water on us and we had to change tables. They told us theyll give us complimentary desserts, then gave us one but charged for the other. (the desserts BTW were good). We had to take a cab to the theater since we were late. We were overcharged for a very mediocre lunch and will not return.
This is my 2nd visit to this restaurant. I just had the Shakshuka Classic. AMAZING! And the bread is heavenly! Technically supposed to eat gluten free but the lure of the thick pita called so loudly the NYC traffic sounded like a whisper. Their Sangria is lovely as well. Highly recommend! Next visit to NYC, I will return.
This is our new favorite restaurant with amazing food and atmosphere. We first ordered the Mazze Trio and that consists of 3 shareable dishes. One of the dishes, we cannot stop praising their hummus enough. You cannot pass up on such an amazing dip. We tried it with the whole wheat pita and it tasted so good and definitely a different taste compared to the the other pita breads we tried. The entree we had was the Tahini Kebab Platter, which was ground beef and lamb and the flavors were wonderful. We couldnt stop eating the dish. We would highly reccomend the charred eggplant. It had a few pomegranate seeds that gives it a pop of surprise flavor. The white sauce tasted so amazing and we wished we order another to-go.
Ive only ever had take out from Hummus Kitchen, but its really really good. I pretty much always get the Super Healthy Salad, which is delicious. (Im totally not a health food person, but this just so happens to be delicious). Also, they are super super quick for delivery through Seamless, which I appreciate.
Amazing food, service and good atmosphere . really enjoyd my dinner there . Had chicken couscous and hummus on side . it was just like my moms .5☆ UPDATE . A year later. Down to 3☆ food doesnt taste the same. Overpriced . And attained to be kosher but its open in holidays and on fridays and Saturdays during the day.be aware
The food was good, but its completely different from Lebanese cuisine. I guess I was expecting the shawarma to be more flavorful. Not that the shawarma served here was bad. But if you are expecting the same flavor details from your local Lebanese shawarma shop, maybe be you are better looking somewhere else.
Very cozy, intimate restaurant that is perfect for a date or secluded dinner. The menu certainly satisfies bought vegans and meat lovers alike as there is something for everyone. The idea of Pita Tacos is cute, though you may need to add a hummus dish to make it a meal. If youd care for a variety sample of authentic dishes, go for the Mazze Trio. Friendly staff, quality food, overall excellent place.
Great small restaurant. The starters/ appetizers are all phenomenal and tasty. The main dishes were very interesting and most were tasty. One order came in cold but the staff immediately took it back and cooked a new one. Came in later in the evening with a group, had to wait a bit outside but eventually got seated with the whole group.
The best hummus ever! Having seen pictures on Instagram from the UK, I made a point of placing an order whilst we were in NY for a few days. It didn’t disappoint! I’m vegan, so had the Portobello mushroom hummus, cauliflower, and salad sides. It was simply the best hummus I have ever eaten and a HUGE portion, which became breakfast the following morning too. The only down side is that I can’t get take out from back in the UK! WAAAAH 😭
By far the best baba ganoush Ive ever had and Ive had plenty of baba ganoush. The falafel was also one of if not the best Ive had. Fast, good service. The only possible negative that I could give is that the portions arent huge, but Im also a large man, so my idea of a large portion might be different from others.
Too bad I cant give a review of this restaurant. My daughter, a Type 1 diabetic, was turned away (along with myself and my husband) because she did not have a piece of paper stating she needed her medical alert service dog. Well, if this restaurant educated themselves they would learn that the Americans with Disabilities Act DOES NOT require a piece of paper. There does not exist any registry or organization certifying service dogs. In fact, if customers produce papers stating their dog is registered, you can be quite sure they are fakers. These fakers are hurting those that require a service dog. It was a demeaning experience, and she already lives with a 24/7 demeaning, live-threatening disease.
I wish I could comment about the food, but they would not seat us because my daughter has a medical alert service dog. They demanded a service dog certificate, but the American Disabilities Act prohibits the requirement of any such document, a fact that EVERY real service dog owner knows. In fact, anyone can purchase such a certificate online for their pets—meaning that anyone presenting such a document is most likely a fraud.
The food is really good and the place is cozy , but never ever order delivery from there , It is a mess!! They dont deliver the full order and then just apologize and ask you to wait another 45 minutes. Thats it. When you get your full order , after 90 minuets , enjoy it! Happened to me twice ...

2022-04-26Went in during Passover weekend so they’re were short staffed but thank gosh we got seated at a table. We had to wait a while to order & get our food but wow when the food came it was worth the wait! My hummus with chicken was delicious, I especially liked the stuffed grape leaves, cauliflower, and chicken couscous platter! Staff were busy but nice. Will be coming back!

2022-07-10The appetizer was really good. The bread that came with Shakshuka was amazing! The ambience is cute and neat! But unfortunately I didnt have a great experience here. They seem to be understaffed ---the service was really slow. Besides that, the poached eggs were over hard in both of our Shakshuka orders. We reluctantly asked them if they could redo the eggs, to which we were told thats how they typically make it here. Anyway, they were nice enough to bring a second order which was still only okay. One of the eggs was still overcooked.

2022-06-041000% recommend. Exceptionally delicious and great prices. Went there with my partner to have lunch during a weekday. They have a great lunch special which includes either a hummus or laffa, and a mazza for 15. You can pick from different varieties of hummus/laffas/mazzas, and the mazzas, which are basically the sides to the dish, are well proportioned. Keep in mind that on top of all these you get tons of pita bread on the side (included in the cost. We ordered the baba ghanoush and falafel mazzas, and two hummus, on with ground beef and one with chicken. DELICIOUS!Also, we tried the lemonana, which is a frozen, mint-infused lemonade. Also very delicious.Service is exceptional and everything is very clean (for Hell’s Kitchen this is a major plus). We were on a little bit of a rush and service was quick and smooth. Thanks for such a great experience and delicious food. 100% recommend and will come back!

2022-06-18The mint / amaretto/ lemonade thing is GREAT!! A must try. All the food is kosher. Reasonable prices. Accommodating staff. Great place for a casual lunch and is right around the corner from lots of theaters, so a good place to hang before or after a show.

2021-08-09I was in town visiting my sister and craving Mediterranean food. We decided to try a place she hadn’t been to, and we made the best decision coming here!! It was phenomenal. We both got the tacos, which are two filled pita pockets with sides of hummus, tahini, baba ghanoush, a tomato/cucumber salad, and pickles. I got chicken shawarma and she got the falafel. They were so delicious! I tried her falafel and it was probably the best falafel I’ve ever had, so I decided to get an order of falafel tacos to bring home as well.We made a reservation by phone about 30 min prior to arriving on a Saturday night and were seated immediately upon arrival. The food arrived quick and the service was excellent.Would 100% recommend and I want to go back next time I’m in Manhattan! My sister is excited to have a new go-to place in her neighborhood.

2021-11-20Its fun exploring the city and discovering little out-of-the-way gems like this place. Its a Mediterranean-Kosher Mexican mix kinda place. They have 2 locations (Upper Eastside and Hells Kitchen) and i went to the one on HK for lunch. Tiny little place but very charming. They have quite a large-ish menu for a small place. Brunch items, salads, apps, different kinds of Shakshuka, Mazze, Laffa and of course, Hummus. I had the Moroccan Laffa which had roasted chicken, hummus, lettuce, mild harissa sauce, chopped salad and parsley. Yummy and very filling. Worth coming back to and soon.Like any other restaurant in NYC, you will need proof of vaccination with ID. Mask up when interacting with staff. Plexiglass dividers between tables.

2021-07-31We loved the chick pea hummus, shawarma wrap (spicy pesto was excellent), and chicken kebab. Excellent and friendly service. Nice atmosphere.
