I am 54, a business owner and college educated. We are a family run business and pride ourselves in doing things right. I never give negative reviews but this one I felt people deserve to know who they will be dealing with. We recently purchased a truck from Hunter. The truck was misrepresented and not at all what we were told. Save yourself the aggravation and stress. These guys do not deserve your consideration or your business.
Best Peterbilt leadership I have ever been to theyre very courteous very thorough very friendly they have done a very good job on my truck and trailer and still doing a good job from this truck being so bad shape I recommend this place to anyone for anything no matter what it is they dont fix it and do it in a friendly way
Never again. Most if not all the good people are gone. The Paccar motor is complete junk. Paccar, along with Hunter Peterbilt put me through hell after they did a $15380.00 inframe after that POS Paccar dropped a sleeve at 544,000 miles, only to have the same thing happen 2 months later (22,000 miles on a 1 year 100,000 mile warranty). Complete lack of knowledge and no sense of urgency to get me back on the road. The 1st in frame took just under 4 weeks. The 2nd, which required a short block, right at 8 weeks. The amount of revenue lost is way more than the $2000 I had to get the finance company (Paccar Financial), to twist Hunter Peterbilts arm to help me on a payment. The shop was caught by me using the ECM off my truck without my permission, as a field unit to diagnose and trouble shoot ECM issues on other trucks in for repair. This group from the manager, service manager, and Paccar Engine Rep are the most incompetent and dishonest people Ive had to deal with from a dealer stand point. A lot of lip service. Marginally trained mechanics, dishonest management, and high turnover speeks for itself. Stay away. The product (Paccar Engines) is an inferior power plant with terrible support and no knowledgeable mechanics to service this POS without contacting (downloading ECM) the missing in action factory Rep who takes a week to make a decision at your cost. Screw Hunter Peterbilt

2019-02-07The first time dealing with Hunter Group went very well, we purchased a truck sight unseen and when it arrived it was as stated. Forward 3 years and we decided we were going to purchase a 2010 389 Peterbilt from them, they sent us photos and in the photos the truck showed very little damage (bumper damage, and few dents in back of sleeper), we moved forward with the truck, sent Team-Driveaway to pick up the truck and stop and grab a New Stoughton Grain trailer along the way. When the truck arrived we were extremely shocked of the condition of the truck. It has over $10k worth the unseen or ummentioned cosmetic damage. We called Al Foster (Sales manager, who we purchased it form) who is half retired and he stated to us on the phone, the truck left with no damage. The truck has clearly been rolled over some time ago, the whole driver side is damaged and someone at sometime tried to paint it with mismatching paint. The truck came in full of aged damage, the new Stoughton was flawless. (clearly did not happen on the drive)When comparing the photos we were sent to the actually truck wheels were different, there were 2 antennas vs one, different light positions ect. Clearly a bait and switch since they knew we were purchasing it sight unseen. We purchase over 50 trucks a year and most people are very honesty and upfront with what you are purchasing. Not Hunter Truck sales or Al Foster. The truck was also suppose to be fully serviced written right on the purchase order. The dates on the filters were from months ago, half of them painted over by frame paint.I hate giving this poor of review and I believe in second chances but this was not a mistakes on accident, it was dumped on us to get it out of their inventory. We did reach out to them and voice our concerns. They offered to purchase the truck back as we pay fright both ways. $7200 in freight. Very half-hearted offer. We would like to see a good will adjustment. If something changes I will update the review accordingly.Below is the last photo we were sent, compared to photos of the actual truck.

2021-06-21Fast professional efficient. Got the truck in and out quickly as they could.Small problem with communication about critical part shortage. If the info would have been available earlier in the day. It would have saved me 3 days of waiting. However it worked out. I found the part at another dealership. Rented a car and drove to Kenworth in Boston.Despite this I would come back. If possible I would order the parts ahead of time or bring them with me.

2021-07-07Stop here every now and then. Parts start and technicians are usually very professional and willing to help, however the lady at service seemed unprofessional and miserable. I wasn’t sure of exact definition of something and she made me feel stupid which is all good but not when you’re dealing with customers.

2020-05-13Stopped in a few weeks back for a engine light. It took longer than I wanted, but the staff there was awesome. The service writer, Daniell came out regularly to update me on what was going on. Im not super familiar with the mechanic stuff and she was really patient and took the time to explain things to me. I just bought the truck and had questions about maintenance and she printed out some stuff on the oil and actually sat down with me and explain to me what kind of oil I should use and why I should use it. She seemed very knowledgeable and did a really good job making it so I could understand it. I dont go out that way often, but if I. Ever in that area again and need help, I would definitely go there.

2017-10-30Very horrible place. DO NOT TAKE YOUR TRUCK HERE!!!!! They will have you waiting for over a week. Every time I called to check on my truck it was new excuse. They broke my wiring harness & said it was something wrong with my transmission. Nothing was ever wrong with my transmission before I came. That’s just a excuse to keep you there longer. The longer your trucks there the more money they make. They shouldn’t even be in business! DONT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE!

2018-12-06Outrageous charges for repairs. Theyre charging even for technicians 30 minutes break time and for 30 minutes to produce the invoice. At the rate of $128/hour even half an hour is a lot. Took them one hour to find a short and three hours to solder it... seriously ? Its very fishy, and it looks like youre lying to your customers. The woman at front desk has told me that mechanic wasnt on break. But before that I was told by another guy that specialist is having lunch. Because of this kind of businesses Im trying to avoid stealerships as much as possible
