Perfect Irish Pub. Going to the show? As long as the bar is full of stagehands, you know you have time! The house ale is only $5. We had The Ultimate Pub Burger which was prepared perfectly. We also ordered the Cod Po-Boy made with a perfectly fried large cod fillet. Be sure to cut these sandwiches in half to eat them, otherwise they are too big to handle!
Great place to grab drinks after work. The bartender gave generous pours. The mac & cheese wedges were everything I needed :) Prices may seem high to those unaccustomed to NYC & especially Times Square prices but I love going here for post work drinks and hangouts. Indoor dining and 3 floors worth of space to grab drinks and chill. And just a friendly reminder to TIP YOUR SERVICE PPL ✌
Best bar in midtown for sure. Food is amazing and service is fast. For all Broadway people and people on the way home for work waiting for a train... this is the spot to go for a quick drink and meal, for a fun night with friends and a place to watch all your sporting events. I recommend to all of the people stopping by NYC no matter where they wanna go next. Top notch restaurant bar in the theater district 😃😃😃
This place is my favourite bars in nyc the barman is such a great laugh and very polite if you want him to be. Theres a big history that goes with this place alit of celebs drink here I walked outside and Bruce Springsteen was outside which was crazy in my mind but the bar tender said it was normal gaga imagine that. Well hope this helps. Any questions dont hesitate to ask. Thank you
A nice surprise! Hurleys Saloon provides both a nice pub atmosphere with full bar on first level, and a restaurant on 2nd floor. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, with courteous, friendly, and attentive staff! Their meal options offer something for everyone, and you will not leave there hungry! Located at 232 W. 48th Street New York City, New York. Stop in youll be glad you did!!
Just picked up some food and had a beer while waiting. The food was prepared within the time it took to drink the beer!So you might order a bit later if you opt for more than one beer ;-)Food was delicious as well, even though it was packed (US-typical) in aluminum and plastic.Clearly recommended.
As someone who rarely writes reviews, I JUST HAD TO SHARE MY EXPERIENCE!!! This was by far THE BEST MEAL IN THE CITY I HAD! We were hot off the trails of a Broadway Show. My party and I WERE REALLY HUNGRY (due to us having to run to try to catch our show in time)! We saw the inviting sign and outside atmosphere. We popped in for dinner and a drink and WHOA! I had a Tuscan Chicken Sandwich with Fresh Mozzerella and fries. It REALLY HIT THE SPOT! The cheese was FRESH, melty and delicious! I ordered a cocktail that paired perfectly too! Best meal I had during my week in Manhattan!
Cool bar slap bang in the heart of theatre district very close to Times SquarePlenty of beer options on, US, local beers and EuropeanWheelchair accessible across the venueFriendly staff, happy to advise on the local beersLots of TVs all showing sport on our visit (college football) which was goodLocal ticket booking company work out of the corner of the bar, which is usefulGo you wont be disappointed!
We made 4:00 reservations days in advance through the restaurant directly. We were greeted by an older blond woman who “ could not find “ our reservation. I had even called the day before to confirm the reservations. She then asked us “How we even made an appointment “ as they had stopped taking appointments days ago . I told her that we booked directly with them through their official website .She led us upstairs to the empty dining room and said that she might find something . We were placed in the same corner that other reviews complained about despite our original reservation requesting a booth .The table was crammed into the corner and the scaffolding and construction equipment was in direct view . Water damage all over the ceiling and wall paper was literally tearing off the walls . It was scotch taped back into the wall in spots.Service was initially very slow despite no diners other than us on second level at time of entry . No water for the table , but the waiter came by with a pitcher to refill the glasses that nobody brought .Food was not bad , but not rave worthy . Service from waitstaff was terrible and many itemsOn the menu were not available .I have actually been here twice now and each time was awful. We booked this a last minute after theater meal and it wasn’t worth it . Plan better and book yourself a much nicer restaurant .No customer service skills / rude older hostess who was interrogative without reason / lack of wait staff / filthy and dilapidated ceilings and walls . Nope . Not ever coming back and will actively recommend better locations .
Honestly I didn’t have big expectations for this place. Stopped with my family for a quick lunch the day we arrived in the city and loved the place. We actually went back after every show for a week. While the food and drinks were really good what this place has a stellar service, after being there juts a couple of times the place felt very familiar. Super hard working staff.
Super disappointed in one of the bartenders. Came in last night and ordered a few shots. The guy told me my card didn’t go through so I gave him cash. He didn’t even give me change, just assumed the rest was his tip. I was fine with that BUT I just noticed my card was charged also. Assuming he charged the card for the shots and pocketed all the cash as a huge tip. I should’ve checked my chase app but my phone was dying. Avoid this place only because of the sneaky bartender!!!
To start off my stue was very nice the meat was tender very expensive at $19 or £15 GBP.2 butgers ware under cooked (raw) Put my sister off her food. stake and chips not very well presented with out salad . not good value for money. With a bill for 4 at $133 or £105 GBP beware they put a 20% on the bill for tips. It, s the most expensive meal we have ever had to pay for
Food was very good but OLD. Me and my husband both got sick and threw up and we never do. We ordered the Shepard’s pie, Mac and cheese wedges, hummus, potato skins, burger and Irish fries. It was delicious cannot lie but we both got sick not shortly after and we spent almost 200$ at this restaurant. Unfortunately the food was not fresh but the service was very well from the owners to the servers.
Good food. Friendly staff. Fun atmosphere. When I first moved to NYC, it was chock full of places that were like Hurleys. Pub feel, good food, and an overall comfortable place to hang out with friends and grab a bite before, or after the theater. Unfortunately, most of those are gone. Hurleys stands, and is worth the stop. If youre in the area and looking for a solid meal, check out the menu.
Hurleys remains my favorite pub in Times Square. The roomy expansion of the dual sided bar and additional floors only made this place better than when I first entered over a decade and a half ago. The food is consistent and great value, the prices reasonable and the drinks always strong and delicious. Would recommend!
Was walking time square and walked into 4 buildings to let my 5yo daughter use the restroom including the Krispy Kreme (which said if we buy something they would let us but lied) and M&M who said it wasnt available to the public even though it was open the day before. On the 5th shot, we walked into this pub and the bartender smiled and said of course she can and then everyone at the bar started talking to her and I. Ended up buying a drink an tipping nice for their awesomeness. Thank you guys for saving my daughter from having an accident a mile from the hotel and giving us the rest of our day to enjoy the big apple!
Great food, definitely a bit pricey. Drinks are good and the decor is nice. We went after a matinee and had a nice time. Our server was great and attentive even as it got busier. Do be aware that (to my knowledge) the building is not accessible. There is a step down to enter the building and most of the restaurant is upstairs.
What a great little find!! We were staying next door at the Gallivant hotel and the place was convenient in between shopping and theater. We had reservations earlyish at 530, for 3 people. When we arrived we were told the dinning room was upstairs, not the main floor pub/saloon area we peeked in on. After climbing the gorgeous wrought iron stairs we were welcomed into a much quieter (than the downstairs pub/bar area we thought we were eating in) to a lovely charming upper saloon. We were seated in a quaint little booth at the top area of the staircase on the right of the restaurantIt was quieter yet not fussy. We had to take a double look at the menu...we were expecting the norm pub food like bangers and mash, chicken pot pie and fish and chips, but the selection of other items was selective but unique! we ordered a corn-beef sandwich, pasta with veggies and chicken and a chicken breast sandwich with grilled veggies, i customized it with different ingredients i saw on other dishes, with a and approving smile from our waiter. The corn beef was very lean, flavorful and moist and not salty like at the other delis places in the area. The kraut and dressing were a great balance to eachother and the bread was super soft! The pasta dish had more chicken and veggies that any dish we have every ordered (vs the skimpy portion of protein other places tend to offer). he sauces was rich and creamy. My chicken sandwich i removed from the bun, not because the bun was not good, but the veggies and goat cheese on the chicken were so good, i didnt want to bother with the bun, but enjoy it on its own!our service was prompt but not rushed. Coffee was excellent, oddly!
This is a great place in NYC to stop for Drinks and Food. Cozy outside seating, great service. Drinks and Food. Very close to Times Square. Rockefeller Square and the Ferry Terminal. When I go back to NYC will definitely go back there. Big Plus is they dont make you buy expensive food when you want to enjoy cocktails. They have finger food and thats important to me. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This Theatre-goer-friendly Saloon has a great menu, great prices, and an old-timey charm that will add some fun to your evening. Steaks were cooked perfectly and melted in our mouths. Drink menu is full of imported brands, but they were out of a few of our choices. Friendly staff certainly made up for it though. If youre headed to a show, check out the price fix menu!
Service was terrible, we came in on a Friday night. They stuck us in a corner with a view of the scaffolding. The waiter took our order and when didn’t order drinks he obviously lost interest in us. We saw him one time to take our order. The steak was dry the garlic potatoes were tasteless and for the price we expected much much more. We had to ask for assistance when they brought our salad out dripping in steak juice. It was soggy and wilted. We even had to take our own glasses up front to get water because no one stopped to check in us. For a place that had such promise when we walked in, it went down hill very fast. Another waiter made an attempt to check on us, he appeared around the Corner at us then left without speaking. We had to stop him to ask for our check because no one showed. Probably the worst restaurant experience I have had in over a decade.
My husband and I popped in here for a quick drink today... we werent intending to stay too long but once we sat down, there was no moving us!!! Ann, David and all the staff were so friendly and the place is so comfortable!! The Christmas decorations are also beautiful..An extremely enjoyable few hours spent here and I would thoroughly recommend people visit this lovely spot!
The host did a great job finding a place for us on the very busy and full Saturday evening. We sat on the 4th floor by the roof top terrace. The atmosphere is spot on! I was happy to find a restroom on the 4th floor!! I gave a four star review because we did get drinks after flagging down a server, and I never received the cheesecake I ordered. The cheesecake wasnt on our ticket, so was never charged. I would like to go back and try the food, because it did look good on the tables we passed.
I will always remember Hurleys....excellent bartenders and awesome addition they added (few years ago); this was the place to go after a long day of work and wind down. Ive met some great people here, including the owners. This is the type of bar/pub youd want to be able to visit after a broadway show, just have some excellent food and drinks with your co-workers and friends. I cant say enough about this place...so many good memories created here. Highly recommend this place obviously !!!!
Great food! Service! Total good time. Went next door to see Bronx Tales ! After the play, returned for cocktails.to our surprise , Actors from the play dropped in for the same!! Really cool time and priced well...and they gave us a discount on our parking in the lot across the street. We will return!
Typical midtown NYC bar.Location: Located in the heart of Times Square. Easy access via nearly every subway line passing through Manhattan. The Staff: Not very sociable, which I suppose is due to the excessive crowds. While they did their jobs very expeditiously, they give off a eat and get the hell out of here vibe. The Food: Typical bar food. Keep in mind this place is in times square, so you will pay a fortune. The Drinks: The bar here features all the major brands, and thats about it. Liquor is astronomically expensive here.Overall, if you like excessive crowds, noise and bills, than this is the place for you.
Went to see Bruce on broadway, this place was awesome. Bartenders were amazing. LA was one of the nicest and best bartenders I have ever encountered. Can’t wait to come back with my friends who are seeing the show in November. Loved Bruce music to get ready for show. Perfect location perfect service.
Had tickets to Hadestown so I made a reservation online a few days before the show. Arrived about 20 minutes early and asked to be sat and they accommodated us with no problem. Service was fantastic, and we had a view of all the show posters and signs. The food was out of this world. I had the Penne Aurora and I truly feel it was the best vodka sauce I have ever had, and I’ve been working in kitchens for about 6 years. Everything about that dish and the butternut squash ravioli were superb. I highly recommend this place and a big shoutout to the chef(s)!!
So this place definitely had its wins, but in the end none of us were impressed with - or upset with - our meals. The restaurant itself seemed clean and it actually had a bit of an upscale appearance, it was nice. Also decorated for the holiday season, but not in a tacky way. Our actual dining table was not awesome, it wasnt level because of the folding panels that turn your table from a smaller 4-seater square to a larger 6-seater circle. As a result, nearly all of our plates were resting on a hill that caused your plates to rock and rattle when you interacted with it. The other option was that you pull your plate closer to you, but then its on a downward slope towards your lap. Probably an isolated incident, and not something I think should stop you from visiting. Despite that, the service by the staff was extremely attentive which was great. The food itself though was neither good nor bad, it was pretty mediocre. Not a very diverse menu, but I think enough options to satisfy most people. Its just that despite 5 different orders of entrees to the table, none were memorable or particularly fulfilling. Generous portions, but lacking in interesting flavor. I wouldnt say to avoid the place, but I dont know if it should top anyones list.
My friend and I went here for lunch and we were not disappointed. The atmosphere was great, the service was good, but the food was what took the cake. We both ordered the Ultimate Pub Burger and it was delicious. And it came with a large side of fries. We were satisfied by the end of it.
This restaurant looked great however our waiter had absolutely no interest in accommodating an allergy I suffer with. I tried to explain it and pick items that shouldn’t Normally have my allergy’s as an ingredient... he said no everything on the menu has peppers( bell peppers) in the sauce or other wise.We got a ceaser salad it was terrible, no dressing, soggy croutons and wilted lettuce. Our waiter never came back with our beverages... or tried to accommodate in any way.So disappointed would not suggest this resturaunt to anyone travelling to new your!!
Good old familiar Irish bar. A good range of beers which are generally in good shape. The bar has 2 sides both with good long bars, so theres plenty of bar seating. Food is standard bar fare of above average quality. There are regularly spaced TV screens all along both bars with strategically placed screens all around for viewing for tables and booths. This is my favorite venue for UFC. It does get pretty crowded right on fight-time, but its more manageable than most.
Went in for a quick bite. The guy who waited on me was fast and attentive. Drinks were good and strong, always a plus. I got a ruben (around midnight) corn beef was perfectly fatty and tender. For a quick stop from a bar to the train id def stop here again and probably will
BEWARE! We purchased tickets from this place after being escorted by a nice gentleman who walked us from the red stairs on Times Square to their place. We were told that we are getting discounted tickets for Chicago the Musical on Broadway. We decided to buy them and dont wait on line. However, when we picked up the tickets we realized that the cost of the tickets was $69 and we paid $90. This is definitely not a discounted price! I wish they told us that before taking our money!

Really cool time and priced well...and they gave us a discount on our parking in the lot across the street. We will return! As much as we wanted to enjoy our visit before seeing Springsteen on Broadway, the service from the bar staff dampened our experience. My husband and I sat at the half full bar and experienced apathetic and inattentive service from disengaged and distracted blond. The saving grace was a shift change halfway through our visit! The food, drinks, and atmosphere were 5-star, too bad the service was not. Go to bar for after work drinks work colleagues. Does get packed, but has an upstairs with ample amount of space and in good weather, they open it up so that it becomes a rooftop lounge. Hidden Gem in New York City. Probably unfortunate for them, but the place was not very busy. Very close to Times Square. Food was great and service was great! Catch a show, then stop by here for some traditional Irish cuisine and chat away your evening with the friendly staff. Foods surprisingly good, bartender I always deal with(forget her name blonde female) makes sure your glass isnt empty without being on top of you. The owners are actually real good guys too..at least they treat me very well I met a gentleman named troy. Never heard of a more tried and true Irish pub when it comes to NYC at least. ood old familiar Irish bar. A good range of beers which are generally in good shape. The bar has 2 sides both with good long bars, so theres plenty of bar seating. Food is standard bar fare of above average quality. First time in NYC since covid and where did the kids wanted to go? Hurleys! Smaller menu but had my favorites so yay for me. Fire in second floor closed half the bar and the staff has also been reduced but Paul is still around.Been going for years so I may be biased. Great bartenders and you need to try the wings and Hurley burger.
I would not recommend this place. Food was bland!the mashed potatoes were instant and veggies cold and extremely bland. My co worker asked for medium rare hanger steak Her meat was damn ther raw. They took her plate off the table, placed the meat back on the grill. Isn’t that a violation of health codes?
We had our company party here and it was one of the best venues in the area for this event. While the stairs to the second floor party area were so steep that I feared for my life after a few drinks, the food was delicious, service was quick and the drinks were perfect, if not sometimes too strong.
Our local during our stay in NYC! Fantastic atmosphere, great bar staff and a wonderful setting - all across the street from the Crowne Plaza where we where staying. Many happy memories! Food was great and the beer was good too, including the Shamrock in the Guinness!
An odd mix of theatre going tourists and office happy hours make for a weird crowd, but there is actually a decent amount of seating. The bartenders are friendly but a bit flaky as our tab was neither closed, nor apparently even charged. The sofas around are comfy and offer adequate seating for the crowd that seems to gather around the door. The draft beer selection was large, but dont expect anything out of the ordinary beyond typical hoegarden and Goose Island.
After walking around Times Square for a while we started coming down so we made a bee line to a bar to get shots. This happened to the the one we stumbled upon and it was great. It has an old European bar look to it. Kind of dark and intentionally divey. The bar tender was great. He even recommended another bar as well as his favorite breakfast place.I only wish we could have stayed longer on our quest for inebriation.
The only real thing wrong with my experience is that the bottom bun for my burger was so saturated with grease that it fell apart immediately, pretty much forcing me to eat the burger with a fork and knife. Beyond that, I had no real service, in fact, I was barely paid attention to and had to ask for my check 3x.
Sat at the bar for dinner and drinks before the play. Bar tender waa very cold and dry, more concerned with her phone than the customers. Food was good, hence the 3 stars. Close to all Broadway plays, so the location was convenient, but not sure I would go back given the service.
A group of us found this spot on the Web and thought it would be a great place to have dinner before going to the theatre. The tavern was crowded, but no one was eating; this seems to be a place to drink and nothing else. The service was poor; I paid $27 for lump crab cakes that were full of bread stuffing; the salad was wilted and the lobster bisque was canned!! I will never eat here again
I was staying next door in the Gallivant Hotel for a week . and , used Hurleys Saloon on about 4 occasions . the bar , food , surroundings and staff are lovely. only one slight gripe ... theres only 2 toilets on the ground floor and , these are not urinals just 2 basins . 1 in 1 unit and 1 in another unit across from each other. though theyre lovely and clean etc . theyre simply not enough during busy periods . as queues were forming at busy times . walking past people when youve finished can be a little embarrassing for some .
I know that you cannot throw a stick without hitting a Irish bar in New York but we really loved this place.Downstairs is a great pub with great bar staff that are always happy to talk to you. Upstairs is a gem of a place with 5 star service and food without a five star price tag. Go try it you will love it say hi to Steve lol
As much as we wanted to enjoy our visit before seeing Springsteen on Broadway, the service from the bar staff dampened our experience. Ive been dining at Hurleys Saloon for over 30 years. The bad news is I moved from NY to North Carolina in 1996 and was only able to return there during business or personal visits which were few and far inbetween. Since I still retain contacts in NY and often have business friends got to meetings in the city I always recommend Hurleys as a less expensive option for my friends. In the last 20 years Ive been there a dozen times buy my friends have been there much more. Today, a friend thats head of American Express Travel asked for a restaurant reccomedation while staying at the Sheraton around the corner. He just went to Hurleys; managed to meet the owner Paul, and had a meal he bragged about for a half hour. Once again, Hurleys did an amazing job taking care of my friends but more importantly proved that regardless of who goes there the food is consistently great and service even better. Dont go to NY without eating there; best burgers in NY; best baked clams and the all tmie best meat loaf and mashed potatoes. Truth be told everything on the menu is consistently great.
It’s an ok place. I came in with my sister, got a drink, went to the bathroom and while i was in the bathroom one of the employees cleared my drink. So annoying because they weren’t SO busy that they were desperate to clear tables or spaces at the bar. Like i said, it’s ok.
Throwback bar/restaurant noted by early tv gagsters as a high-octane hootch hangout. a reliable pre-broadway show lunch and dinner spot with theater guests often shuttled to windowed 2d floor dining room.typical nyc menu but sandwiches with salads are a standout. comfortable private booths cozy and offer quiet conversations. parking available directly across street for eat/show auto convenience

2022-07-10Very friendly bartenders. My wife and I visited two consecutive evenings and were very happy. There are not many vegetarian options to chose from and the cocktails are kind of sweet. I chose to go for the single malt and vodka for my wife. They do have outdoor seating also which closes sooner than the restaurant.

2022-01-27Really great atmosphere and awesome food. The place is lively even on a weekday so no doubt its packed on a weekend. Regardless, worth a visit just for the food alone; youll feel real cozy in here.

2022-02-05We found this place on a cold rainy Friday night at the recommendation of a worker at tkts. Great historic atmosphere, lively bar, great staff. We decided to try the restaurant upstairs for dinner and was very pleasantly surprised at how good the food was. Had the special New England clam chowder which was superb (not overly thick, very flavorful). Entrees of hangar steak and swordfish were also very good. Service by Rafi was very attentive. Great experience in a cozy atmosphere. We will return to this pub for sure. Location is great in Times Square area.

2022-01-18This is one of our favorite places to take a quiet break from the hubbub of Times Square. Hurleys is a classic Irish pub with plenty of charm and an attentive, professional staff. I dont think Ill ever return to the city without making a stop here as part of our visit.

2022-03-21What started out as an impulsive pint of vitamin G moved on to dinner outside. My wife had Tuscan chicken and myself the chicken pot pie. Both were excellent. And a second pint of Guinness of course. I cant forget to mention the great service too.

2020-12-21*This is an outdoor dining review*I was only able to order an appetizer because by the time that got to me I was frozen solid. I ordered the buffalo wings because they looked so appealing as I was walking by. I noticed there were about 4 heaters so I went against my better judgement and tried this place out. Well those heaters were most definitely there for show because you couldnt even feel faint heat. There were people so cold and red in the face trying to patiently wait for their food or drinks I ordered a margarita and it never got to my table so I wont have a review of how that taste today. Sorry. It also took my wings so long to come about 20 minutes imagine sitting in the cold waiting for wings yes wings. The wings are as good as they look the first 2 were hot and delicious the other 10 were ice cold but what did I expect dining in 45 degree weather. I would not be dining with Hurleys again for the simple fact that I did not feel welcomed and the staff stayed indoors most of the time and didnt check on the freezing guest as often as they should.

2022-07-22Great atmosphere, Great bartender and server. The only complaint is the burger which was made fresh and not a frozen patty could benefit from some seasoning while cooking.
