Hutchs in other cities:
I have heard about this place for years..how great it is!..the steaks! the atmosphere...Finally went with a friend, very excited...WHAT a disappointment..from the front desk till we left..cold , matter of fact, almost like I was a bother. NON engaging staff ! The bread server , pulled off the street, no eye contact, no pleasantries, NOT able to communicate well..our server, no explanation of the menu , no help in what was medium and med well..I had to ask for information..does not seem upscale at all..Just a few white napkins does not hide the Bonanza steak house ambiance. WONT BE BACK..
I can only sum up my first and only visit to Hutchs with one word: disappointment. I was looking forward to visiting, Hutch was a close friend of my late father and Ive heard wonderful things about the restaurant. It started out well, made a reservation on a Friday night at 8, seated at a nice table, staff was very friendly and professional. The menu was impressive, it made it difficult to decide, which is a good problem to have! I ordered the shrimp/lobster bisque and the NY strip- medium rare, my wife got the kale salad and halibut w/scallops, and we each ordered a nice cocktail. Her starter was very satisfactory, but mine was where the trouble started. The soup was probably about 95% bisque and 5% shrimp/lobster. A woman at the table next to us ordered the same and hers was very chunky, the proper ratio of bisque to meat. It was tasty, dont get me wrong, but only two small chunks of meat? Come on. How did that make it out of the kitchen?!We finished our apps and waited for our entrees. And waited. And waited. And waited. Cook time for a 2 thick steak is approx 30 mins with a quick sear...we waited almost an hour for our meals. The manager approached us and explained there was a mix-up in the kitchen with a few table and whos steak was whos... unexpected for an establishment with such a high reputation. Im a patient guy, so I appreciated the explanation and the compd drinks due to the wait. There were at least 2 other tables in our vicinity with steak knives and forks with no meals, each of which had been waiting as long as us.Finally our meals come to our table, and I begin sampling the accompanying elements on my plate. The onion rings, carrots, potatoes, and green beans were fantastic. The steak was the thickest cut Ive ever seen, and I was eager to cut into that beast and devour it. The knife was blunt enough it may as have been a butter knife. I watched two other diners struggle to cut their steaks. The steak was undercooked, and borderline cold in the center. Rather than send it back, I had waited long enough, I was too hungry and just dealt with it. My wifes scallops had turned rubbery having sat under a heat lamp so long the plate was hotter than the food, due to the steak snafu. The steak was tasty, and her halibut was also delicious, so at least we were happy with the taste. This was a special occasion for my wife, and we chose Hutchs for its special reputation, but for what we paid I was underwhelmed and a bit annoyed to fork over two hundred bucks. I wish it had been more pleasant, because I know this was an unusual occurrence... But we wont be back. I hope to those reading this review your potential visit goes better than ours, and the law of averages suggests it will.Hutch, if youre reading this, Little Sheep would have liked to see you there, and I hope we meet again in the future.
I brought my son there for his 20th birthday tonight, and the service was horrendous. The waiter severely neglected us the entire time while doing shots with the table of girls next to us. My son wanted coffee and desert, we ordered the coffee and it was never brought and we never even got to order desert as the waiter was too busy taking pictures with the girls at the table next to us. This experience officially ruined my sons birthday.
Top notch experience as to be expected. Food is comfortable but execution is at a very high level. Something for everyone. The wine list is great with affordable options for all types of drinkers. Super comfortable environment you want to come back to. Their new expansion allows them to have safe and open dining options.
The food was absolutely spectacular. I had one of the best steaks of my life when I ordered the 16oz ribeye steak frites. I typically eat at most 6 oz of steak and I easily ate 9oz after having already split the steak tartare. My husband had the soft shell crab which he also really liked, especially with the sauce it came with, but he did prefer the steak over his dish. Im a french fry addict and can certify that these would be hard to beat. We did have about a 30 minute wait even with reservations so Id recommend booking ahead. The place was cozy and comfortable.
As my birthday crew would agree, you never go wrong with Hutchs quality, which is consistently, exceptional 💯% Gregory, Mark, Nino, Westley, Kevin, Jim & Eric. #Escargot in piping hot butter sauce, crab-cake, and when they have time, you can request that they sauté the #Calamari. The house wine was very good. We all ordered the same entrée, beef tenderloin Au Poivrè! medium prepared with a peppercorn crust in cream sauce, magnificent! And last but not least, dessert 🍨 , we have orange zest cremè bruleè, chocolate mousse bomb and pumpkin cheese cake.
I chose Hutch’s for my company’s holiday dinner because of its reputation, great food and services. We were there last night (Friday night at 6:30 pm). We had a party of 6, and our waiter was not attentive. We had to ask for bread. We had to ask for refills of water. We had to flag him down for service, and I watched him chit chat away at a table full of ladies. Our food took awhile, which is fine and I understand the shortage of staff and a busy restaurant. But in between he never really came to check on us. Once the food arrived, he checked on us once to see how the food was. The service was truly a let down for the price that we paid…..you can’t be a 4 $ sign restaurant if the service is subpar.
Went to dinner at Hutch’s for my sister’s 50th birthday. Our entrees and apps were very good. The mashed potatoes were amazing ! The serving assistant, Stephen, made our night. He was a breath of fresh air amongst some stuffiness….. My niece accidentally left her purse on the chair and Stephen ran outside to return it. We were very grateful. The atmosphere is nice and the dining room is beautiful but bring your wallet !
So, visiting from Florida which means I know seafood & steak. That said, if I had to choose between paying my rent and ordering the lobster again, I would go for the lobster. We ordered 5 apps and all were delicious as well. My fav? Stuck between the beef tartare & stuffed pepper (mix everything together W the pepper for full effect).
Always a great meal with excellent service. This place is a true favorite for locals. Delicious grilled meats, and great alternative options from fish to chicken to pasta to sandwiches. The roasted beat salad is a great appetizer and easy to share. Big portions for entrees.
A good friend of ours blessed my wife and I with a gift certificate to Hutchs. We had been meaning to go for quite some time as neither of us had dined here in the past. We recently visited and we were very well pleased. The food was great. The flavors, the seasonings and all around bringing everything together on the plate was excellent. The service was timely. The staff was of good energy and very professional yet balanced when it came to engaging. We will be back as the menu had multiple desirable entrees. Looking forward to it, thanks Hutchs!
This place had it all. Great waitstaff, awesome food and great ambiance. We loved the bar and enjoyed every moment for my birthday. We will be back again. Our waiter was fast, friendly, and perfect with his recommendation of the sirloin steak, best steak I ever had! My wife loved her veal chop. Hutch s is one of the best, if not the best, in Buffalo.
Mothers Day Dinner 2021 was a Gigantic Success thanks to the incredible support Team at Hutchs! Rachael the Bartender was so friendly, knowledgeable & helpful. - Rachaels martini skills are on another level! James, our wine connoisseur recommended the perfect bottle based on our taste & we absolutely loved it. From the water, to bread, to our awesome waitress, to the music, everything was just as exquisite as you would hope it could be. Our appetizers, bisque, dinners, dessert & coffee was the absolute best weve had all year long. Thanks a million to Hutchs for being our favorite destination in Buffalo! Trust me - arrive 1 hour prior to your reservation & relax at the bar & take in the ambiance & atmosphere. Youll appreciate what you see & love what you feel.
Hutch’s has exceptional food! The drinks are just okay! Reservations are a must! They are always busy. If you sit by the bar and it is a busy day, you may not get served right away because they also make drinks for the guests at tables! I think everyone should try Hutch’s at least once to get the experience of tasting delicious fine dining food!
Everything was amazing! They definitely are attentive to every detail. Our server and bussers were on top of everything. The food and drinks were delicious and served to perfection. Was great to see escargot on the menu, another of my favorites. My favorite dessert is creme bulee and I order it everywhere, if on the menu. I have to say Russells has finally been beaten. The orange zest creme bulee by far was the best. Truly enjoyed our first visit. We will be back.
Had dinner at the newly remodeled, expanded Hutchs Thursday night. It was my first time in the place and I was very impressed. An expansive space with lots of different areas to dine. The back bar is beautiful with warm woodwork, exposed brick and good lighting. Our meal was exquisite! Im a big steak tartar fan and it was a very healthy sized portion. The Thai calamari and meat ball apps were delicious and served hot. The bistro steak was cooked to perfection served on a large portabella mushroom base which was a perfect compliment of flavor. Our waiter was friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. All the staff were the same ; on point!Im very pleased and will definitely be back with one caveat. the dining chairs are definitely on the small size ( Im 63) and sitting for an hour and a half became uncomfortable. My understanding is that these were the original chairs, pre-remodel. They may want to consider updating those too.Nice big parking lot in the back too!
(Editing a 5 star review from a couple years ago.)Our most recent experience was less than stellar. The kitchen was very, very slow. The restaurant was not overly busy. There were plenty of servers. In 2 1/2 hours, I was served one drink. The food was fantastic, as usual, when it finally arrived. When it was all over the server told us that the 2 1/2 hours was a dining experience. and that this is normal. Weve been eating here for 2 decades. Nothing about this was normal. We will be taking a break for a while.
LOVE this place! This is such a great restaurant. Their steaks are so incredibly tasty and delicious, literally melt in your mouth! Great cocktails, very well balanced thai calamari. The chicken milanese is a great option for those that dont like steak. Overall great vibe, great service and food! One of the best (if not the best) in Buffalo!
My boyfriend and I were visiting from Detroit for our anniversary. We made a reservation at Hutch’s and we are so glad we did. Our table was ready when it was supposed to be and the atmosphere was awesome. Our server, Mark, was amazing! He helped us pick out some amazing cocktails with our meal, and after finding out it was our anniversary, he brought us each a glass of Prosecco. It was such a sweet gesture and really just made our night even more special. The food was delicious and worth every penny. The bison strip steak was probably the best steak I’ve ever had. If we are ever back in Buffalo, we will definitely visit Hutch’s again!
They expanded the dinning area to a new space next door, just elegant, safe distancing, great service, and absolutely delicious food. Best place for ahi tuna. Need reservations and mask to come in. My mom loved the cookie cup she ordered, and our drinks were great too! I would definitely come back here
Excellent beef and bison steak. We enjoyed having the tables spread the 6 feet apart as it was still a bit loud during dinner. There is a hidden parking lot behind which can be restaurant accessed from either side or the building.- just drive slow as it is a single lane but 2 directional.
Came here to celebrate our engagement & was incredibly disappointed. Was so excited to try Hutch’s for the first time based on great reviews & recommendation from friends and family but it fell extremely short. They were out of the surf & turf … understandable as we had a late Saturday reservation. Ok let’s carry on. Ordered the bone in tenderloin instead…only to be informed shortly after that they were also out of that. Still tried to keep a positive attitude as we were there to celebrate. We ordered shishito peppers and ribs for appetizers. Peppers were delicious. Started to wonder where our ribs were as it had been a long time but we were in no rush. These nicer places take time.. we’re there for the experience, fine. We will ask the waitress when she comes back…Well the waitress did not check in for a while so there was no opportunity to ask when they were coming out. We never got the ribs because our entrees were brought out by a new waiter so we couldn’t even ask about them. They clearly forgot. Another bummer … but once again was still trying to look past it so we could enjoy the evening. Our waitress finally checked in after our first few bites.. we had to remind her that we never received the ribs. The final straw… My fiancé ordered the ribeye medium and it was so rare he had to send it back. So now I’m waiting for his meal to be fixed & feel bad eating without him so I couldn’t even enjoy my dish. & Let’s be honest … it’s not very appetizing to eat a steak that you’ve already cut into and is taken back to be recooked and then brought back out. By the time his steak came back out, my meal was cold and we were extremely irritated. Unacceptable for a fine dining restaurant at this price point. We refused to spend any more money on more drinks/dessert so we immediately asked for the check. Hutch’s did try to make right by covering our entire bill but it wasn’t about the money. The experience put a huge damper on what was supposed to be a special night. Should’ve went to Russell’s - of course.
I have always heard wonderful things decided to try it out and I was the least impressed . between food and service it was not great. My steak entee was burnt I told the waiter the issue he said hed take care of it. He came back and offered dessert as he took the steak back. Then brought our bill and was still charged the price of the steak when I didnt even eat it. I will never return and make sure I let everyone know the experience. Ive never wrote a complaint yet. Not 1 thing was worth going back for .
Food was great as always. Unfortunately the wait staff had a very off night. There were numerous issues and gaffes. Too bad as it was the first time out to a special dinner on a special day in over a year. They tried to fix the issues by taking care of half the check for us. Helped 8n our pocketbook but cant make up for ruining a very special day
I can’t decide which was better the service or the entire meal! Start to finish everything was wonderful. Extensive wine and cocktail list and amazing range of dishes. To finish they have homemade gelatos and so many dessert choices. Amazing experience can’t say enough good things.
My husband Bill and I had an amazing experience at Hutch’s last night for our 26th wedding anniversary. We were off to a rocky start. We had a 5:30 reservation on this Wednesday night. We didn’t announce that it was our anniversary. The hostess picked the most undesirable table in an almost empty restaurant (it just opened at 5), right across from the kitchen window, a high traffic area. We asked for a different table, and thankfully, she accommodated us. We wound up in the best spot. I’m not telling you the table number, but it was out of the way. Anyway, as luck would have it, we had the BEST server at our new table. Tony was knowledgeable, attentive, funny, and just awesome. We plugged the table number and Tony’s name in our phones for our next visit...and we can’t wait to come back! So, we have been to Hutch’s a few times, but not recently. Every time we had dinner, it was excellent! It was hard for me to stray from the memories I had of previous visits, I ordered the poblano pepper, Caesar salad, and tuna. EXCELLENT. My husband had a dozen oysters OTHS, the beet salad, and the tuna. I hate it when we get the same entrees, but I had been dreaming about that tuna and, boy did it did meet the hype! Tony was so attentive. He seemed to have a lot to juggle, but he frequently circulated to make sure we had drinks and everything we needed. Ok, so now that I had some choices that I remembered were so good, I’ll branch out at our next visit and try the veal chop Tony suggested. You better believe our next reservation will be for our special table and TONY!
Easily a top restaurant in Buffalo food/vibe-wise. Props to the bartender for making drinks for an entire, bustling restaurant on a Saturday evening MDW post-covid reopening! I do think the service could be slightly better, but Im sure they were super busy with the full reopening and all. Topnotch apps and steaks. Creme Brulee was so so, esp for a fine-dining restaurant.
My companion and I were in Buffalo for a last minute overnight road trip and decided on a nice dinner out. Hutch’s was the right choice. Absolutely flawless food. The beet salad with whipped feta, pistachios and greens was so good. The Eggplant Napoleon was a delicious stack of crispy eggplant, fresh mozzarella, tomato and prosciutto-wow! For the army of liver and onions lovers-Hutch’s is the Promised Land! Absolutely the best fried liver and onions with bacon I’ve ever had-period!
You can always count on great food at Hutchs. Had the halibut special which was delicious, topped with scallops and shrimp. Fellow diners had the Jambalaya (packed some heat!), and the ahi tuna steak. Shared the Eggplant Napoleon, a favorite that I have to have and the Thai calamari. Finished the meal with an Almond lace cookie filled with cream and fresh fruit. The raspberries were incredible!
Has been my very favorite restaurant for decades. Top rated restaurant in our area year after year. Wonderful food, great service and reasonably priced for fine dining. When you order an entree at Hutch’s it comes as a meal. Vegetables and starch served with the entree. The prices are not inexpensive but we never feel “ripped off” because the food is so great and the service is very good.
This is the place for great food. The steaks are top notch and the bar has a great vibe for drinks with friends. It can get a little loud when its crowded but the food, service and atmosphere exceed expectations. Ive been going to Hutches for years, and it never disappoints. Many go for special occasions due to prices, but it is so worth it. Bar atmosphere is welcoming and very cool. You feel like a better person just for being in there!

On the advice of a friend, my girlfriend and I tried Hutchs this weekend. Excellent recommendation! The restaurant is charming, the service was excellent, and the food was outstanding. We started with a half dozen oysters, which were so good, we ordered six more. For dinner, my girlfriend had a seared yellow fin tuna steak; I had the Hutchs prime ribeye. Both meals were excellent, and a lot of food. I wish I had room for dessert, so I could have tried something. This is an expensive restaurant that is worth the money. We will be back.
I called to have a dessert bought for friends dining for their anniversary. They took my credit card information and I was told they would tell our friends this was from us. Not only did they not even mention anything to my friends I called and spoke with the manager James and he promised me he would call our friends and apologize as well as offer them a complimentary dessert next time they dined at Hutch’s . He has yet to call. Very disappointed!!
I was so excited to try Hutch’s. (I’m from 2 hours away.) That went downhill the moment I cut into my ‘medium’ steak. I had to send it back not once, but twice. The waitress told me I was wrong about how a medium steak is cooked. Like excuse me?? It was rare both times! I’m aware of what a medium steak looks like. It was freaking purple & she told me I was wrong. Barely any apology, I had no words. It was microwaved the second time, which also made me mad. I was in disbelief to be treated that way at such a nice place. This was supposed to be a very special dinner & it was ruined. We were hesitant to even order more drinks & dessert because we didn’t want to give this place any more of our money after what had just happened. The only reason this gets 2 stars is because the rest of the food was good. Save your money and go to Russell’s!!! Seriously. They actually care about their customers.
Definitely quality spot in Buffalo, one of its best restaurants and bar. Food is always superb, attention to every detail. Each guest is treated like royalty. Absolutely top quality in all respects, a landmark location of the Queen City. You feel important when you walk in the door. Absolutely fabulous place and experience. Highest recommendation.
I want to Thank James and the staff at Hutchs for their accommodations last night. I messed up our reservation to take my 91 yr old Grand mother out to dinner while she was in town and he found a way on a crazy busy night to accommodate us. Everything was awesome, the service, the atmosphere, and especially the food!
Other than being a little louder than we had expected, the ambiance, the food and the service were first class. The Wine list was extensive enough for the novice to the connoisseur and the staff was knowledgeable to make the recommendation. They were also extremely efficient at being at your table at the right time, without ever making you feel rushed and they were busy the night that we were there. The food was cooked and presented beautifully. One mistake made, that I have to mention. The Maitred did not follow up with the staff when I mentioned it was my wifes Birthday.... that would have been the crowning touch..... Maybe next time!
Hutchs has established a reputation as one of the premier restaurants in Buffalo, but my recent experience at didnt meet expectations. Despite having made a reservation two weeks prior, my wife and I waited for an entire hour in the crowded bar for our table to ready. During this time, we were told multiple times that our table was almost ready or that the people sitting there were finishing dessert. To his credit, the host was apologetic and handled the situation as well as could be expected. As the minutes dragged onward and our 7:45 reservation became an 8:45 seating, he assured us that they would make it right. When we finally received a table, the food was solid if unspectacular. There were some excellent dishes, including the risotto and two small plate appetizers. These dishes gave a bit of glimpse into what might have been. Other dishes were good, but not great. Its definitely worth experiencing, but not worth a $100+ dinner bill (or an hour wait). In the end, the restaurant did what they essentially had to do. Our $100 original bill was reduced to $60. This removed the cost of cocktails and dessert. It was a decent gesture, probably the minimum that they could have done after the wait time. We spent $25 at the bar before being seated, so we wouldnt have to wait empty-handed for an hour. So, essentially, we saved about $20 for our troubles.Hutchs is probably a solid choice for food, but if the pricing is similar, Tempo is a better bet from my experience.
The aesthetics of the building are underwhelming and they really pack people in these. Feel like we were sitting on top of other dinners. For the price paid I definately left feeling I didnt get my $s worth. The food took a long time to come out. The steak was cooked perfectly but everything else was not good and the presentation was lacking too. The same owner owns Tappo and Remington. Much better places to go and always feel like its worth the higher prices. Hutches was not good.
Heard good things about Hutch’s in the past .. Ordered meatball appetizer which was excellent followed by salads and soup. Well salad and soup never came. They brought main course .. apologized and offered dessert to make up for error on their part. The bill came and of course we were charged for desserts. We were impressed at first in service and how they took time and came out every ten minutes. However, a table of four came in and sat at table next to us .. To our surprise someone was coming to their table ever minute. Even the manger to pour their wine and when wine spilled... someone was there immediately to help. Guess if you are important .. you get better service .Very disappointed and will frequent our favorites of Lombardos, Russells, and Tempo instead. Maybe just a bad night .
Hutchs is always a 5 star place where you can count on the absolute best service and food, every visit. The menu has varied a bit over the years but is always consistently the most delicious food in Buffalo. I ordered the halibut with scallop and shrimp with hoisin butter sauce and spicy sweet potatoes. Excellent
The ace for dining in Buffalo. Fine dining and drinking. Be ready to test yourself at the bar because they have a deep selection with professional service. Small tables with high end freshness and service. This is grown up dining at its best. I love the dont judge a book by its cover on this place. Be there or be square.
My husband Michael and I made last minute reservation for New Years Eve celebration at Hutchs. They actually had one 8:30 pm opening left, which we eagerly booked. We left earlier then usual to avoid downtown traffic, therefore we were a bit early. The host was very cordial and asked if wed like to wait at the bar. It was wall to wall people, but so friendly and in such good spirits that we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We bumped into a couple we had not seen for years and spent the time with them unti our table was ready. We had such a fantastic time. The holiday ambiance, the people in good happy, fun moods and the food was marvelous. Excellent New Years Eve night out. I plan to introduce Hutchs to quite a few of my friends.
The food deserves a 4 and the service on a slower evening would probably have hit the 4-mark too. The beef tartare was excellent ; the meatballs sublime and the caprese salad awesome. Perfectly ripe tomatoes with lovely olive oil, perfect basil and buffalo mozzarella. The wine list is well - chosen and varied. The downside was that the kitchen was clearly overwhelmed and we were left waiting way. too. long. for our main course. Other tables also had issues.Hopefully this is an isolated incident because the food makes this a destination.
Ive truly enjoyed Hutchs in the past. Giving 3 stars for my overall history here. Tonight alone would be a massively overpriced 2 star review. The banana peppers, which we have loved before, were overwhelmed by the anchovies, and we could not eat them. The waiter was disinterested. At 1030 I hunted down an employee who appreared to be a manager (we arrived at 815 for our 830 reservation) to ask about our dinner and our missing waiter. Our drinks were long empty by that point, and I expressed dissatisfaction with the situation. He did not appear Interested. For the price, its fair to expect better.
I sampled the NY strip, Tenderloin, lobster bisque, steak tartare and jambalaya. All of these were excellent and quality of the steaks is among the best if not the best in Buffalo. However the Beet salad was disappointing and used raw walnuts. The service was slow and clumsy, especially for its price point. Also despite making a reservation on their website with open table I came in and was told they didnt use open table? If you want the best steaks in buffalo check them out but dont go for the service or the salads.
I was there on Nov 23 for my first time as weve heard good things in the past. I told our waitress that I have a severe dairy allergy (as your menu says to let you know about any allergies) so to please write that down/tell the cooks. I received my salad with a cream dressing when I ordered a vinegarette BUT the waitress did catch that before I began to eat it, now we received our meals filet/mashed potatoes/veggies, shortly after eating I began to have stomach pains so we finished up and left, we werent gone 10 min and I was in excruciating pain for the next 10 hours. I called there 2 days later to speak to a manager but he wasnt there as I spoke to the office manager so I was told and I explained what happened and I asked if he knew what the potatoes were made with, he said sour cream and butter and there was my answer, he apologized and asked for my info to pass to the manager as he was away for the weekend. Well on Dec 5th I still havent received a call so I decided to email the restaurant that day, here we are Dec 9th and STILL no reply!! Clearly this business dont care about You and your well being, so if you have food allergies DONT GO HERE, CAUSE THEY DONT CARE!! Ps you have my number, want to make this right and go away call me.
Food was excellent. Service was prompt and friendly. I live in Erie to the West and the prices are higher than I am used to but did not find them unreasonable for a night on the town.I am a liver lover. The liver was tender. It may have actually have been calfs liver! Served with thick great tasting bacon. In a mustard sauce (what the heck is that) that I enjoyed and did not overwhelm.Best I ever had.
Seated in a hallway setting next to a cold wall on a narrow table that shook when my partner cut their food. We were seated near the bar the back and was somewhat in the loud side, so not really fine dining atmosphere. Played cheesey pop music at too high volume...The meal meat was dry and cold. Service was fast but was the only plus I could think of...Im sitting here writing this review case the food no longer interested me. The is a bar restaurant, no better than any other around
Not worth it!! Waited for an hour for our table even though we had a reservation. Food arrived an hour after we ordered one plate at a time. Final meal arrived ten minutes after the first meal was served in a party of seven. Had to ask for bread and waiter never came yo ask if we wanted anything else to drink. When we complained about the service the waiter told us the kitchen is always backed up and we were lucky it only took two hours! Not worth it!
The apps were applauded for their vivid colors and pungent tastes--stuffed poblano pepper with delicious salsa, bacon-on-a-plate, and lobster/shrimp bisque. For entrées, one of us ordered bistro steak and loved it. One had salmon and found it ranked in the middle range of WNY fine dining spots. The spinach on the side was too salty. One had seafood risotto; the scallops and shrimp were tasty, but the rice itself was bland (though not requiring more salt).
Authentic Lebanese, Armenian restaurant. Especially the starters were extremely tasty. Friendly staff and good service. Only minus for us was that after we finished a table full of starters the entree came within one minute, despite the fact that we had told them to wait a bit.
Great food, large servings, well prepared - but pricey. Calamari is either the #1 or #2 Ive had. Salads are well balanced, desserts are quite good. The jambalaya is tasty in general, but it is not jambalaya - its a heavy pasta dish in cream sauce. They should make a real jambalaya and leave about 2000 calories of cream of the menu.
What can I say, its a Buffalo classic that never changes, but change is not the point! Theres a certain pleasure in knowing what to expect. When I go i want that cookie cup dessert the exact way I got it the first time, every time, and it is! Is the menu fresh, new, and exciting? No, but they nail what they do every single time, and thats the point
The staff was an A+, the food was a B+ but the atmosphere was a solid D. Being in this cramped, over-packed room was like sitting directly in front of giant speakers at a rock concert. Customers were yelling over each other. It was horrible and required a couple of aspirin as soon as we got home for the headache. This is not fine dining in-spite of a $192 tab for two and there will never be a reason to put ourselves through that again.
Hutchs is one of our favourite bars in Buffalo and my husband and I make a point of dropping in to catch up with friends whenever we are local. Hutchs is conveniently located on Delaware just near Gates Circle (parking at rear or on Delaware). Patrons have the option of fine dining in the restaurant or enjoying a more casual...

2022-06-10Inside an exclusive, historic Buffalo neighborhood you will find Hutchs. The ambiance was fit for any special occasion or celebration. The food was delicious! The salmon was grilled to perfection. The lamb was tender and flavorful. The surprise of the evening was the Kale salad with apricots and almonds. Loved it. This one gets a Vernon stamp of approval!

2022-02-18Fantastic food, great service! Id definitely go back! The Hutchs candied bacon on a plate is soo good. I got the lobster and shrimp bisque, Beef tenderloin with mashed potatoes and green beans. I would definitely get them both again! My husband got the house smoked salmon special. He said it was simple but good as well. Loved the fruit bowl as well! Give it a try, you wont be disappointed!

2022-01-31Had a delectable meal for my birthday! Started with a Dangerously Delicious cocktail, as well as trying escargot and steak tartare for the first time! This was followed by a perfectly seasoned halibut with scallops and veggies paired with a chardonnay. My fiance had the rack of lamb which was also scrumptious! It was an amazing culinary experience! Atmosphere and service was also top notch!

2022-05-07Celebrated our 20th anniversary earlier this evening .... The servers were absolutely fantastic. The food was equally great so was the ambiance ... I wish my food selection was as good as my wifes. This is what my wife got for being an unmatched roommate... Diamonds, Gold & Pearls.

2022-05-07Hutchs may be one of the finest restaurants in Buffalo. It is certainly considered that by many longtime residents of the city. Last night was my first time, though Ive heard about it before. Aside from the amazing menu, and the stately decor, I would say the most outstanding part of the experience was the highly trained professional staff, who absolutely know what they are doing and make it look effortless. Wow. Fabulous!

2022-03-01One of the worst experiences Ive had while experiencing fine dining. Went on my anniversary with a 8:45pm reservation. When we arrived the hostess wouldnt even make eye contact while telling us that our table wasnt ready and to wait at the bar and someone will find us. We waited 30 minutes to be sat. (9:16pm) Another 20 minutes to order. (9:40pm) We didnt receive our appetizers until 50 minutes after ordering. And finally we didnt receive our meals untill 10:38....they close at 11:00pm. We asked for the meal to go and payed our checks early so we could make it somewhere else. The manager was cold, when we mentioned the two hour wait. We were offered a complimentary dessert for our troubles.. which wasnt in the bag when we left... I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone especially if youre celebrating something of note. The food was not worth mentioning as the service was all I can think about.
