I stayed here April 29th-May 1st, 2022, two weeks ago. The hotel is located in Grand Central, which makes it fantastic for transit. I was able to get to everywhere I wanted to be without much effort. Additionally, the rooms were clean. The check-in and check-out experiences were both poor, because both times there were very long (30+ people) lines with nobody at the front desk. I waited about five minutes and then used the QR code room key check-in station, which worked fine. However, I typically like to ask a question or two about the hotel, which I did not get to do this time. This was the only hotel experience Ive ever had where I did not speak with a single employee and I typically aim to speak with people. However, the manager emailed me to apologize for the experience, so Ive rated it higher than I would with that in mind. And even if the experience has not changed, if you dont need to speak with anyone, it is a fine hotel.
We had a fantastic stay here. Very accommodating at check in, Diane at the front desk was super helpful through our stay and at check out. Everything worked, clean, in the room and had ample space for us to enjoy our 3 days here. Valet was also very prompt. Would recommend staying here.
Cheap, low quality hotel. Spend a few dollars more for a nicer experience. Stayed here for a work trip and we won’t be staying here again. The rooms are incredibly dated. They don’t include amenities listed, such as a proper desk (it was an old table in the middle of the room with no work chair?) The doors are chipping paint, the shower had a large crack in the floor, and the walls were paper thin (you could hear the elevator ‘ding’ every-time it arrived at the floor).Stay at the Ace Hotel, nearby Hilton’s or the Sofitel. Same price but I’ve had much nicer experiences there o
Stayed here for five nights. No hiccups. The bed is nice and comfortable. I slept like a baby. I suggest take a room at the end of the hall otherwise it may be a little loud when people walking to the elevators. Be nice to the door man and security, so they remember you. That way you don’t have to show key to get in.
Reopened in November and this was our 7th stay. Sure there were some bugs and kinks to work out however now opening and running. I almost poke away a star since restaurants not open. Simon at the market though has gotten to know us and is wonderful at making breakfast so wonderful. Many managers there and they know their stuff. We love this property. Convenient to subways and grand central. For globalist a good choice!!
This hotel used to be much better than it is now. I stayed here for one night and I would give some comments on my stay. The receptionist failed to add the stay on my account even though I asked her to do so and she said she did it. The room amenity was mediocre at best. I heard loud music from somewhere until 2am and the hotel never noticed it. Overall, it is conveniently located and the price is not very high. So one night stay here for a Manhattan visit might not be terribly wrong. But I may want to avoid here from now.
Love the hotel and its location. The price is quite reasonable too. The room is probably just renovated. Its spacious and contemporary with a lot of electric outlets around the room. Extra amenities, besides shower gel and shampoo, need to be requested. Discoverist gets a free bottle of water per day. You just need to grab it yourself from the coffee shop in the lobby.
Toilet was leaking and had to ask for a room change. And when I tried to call the front desk for a room change, I discovered that one of the phones in the room had no cables connected to it. I guess the phone was just decoration. The corner suite that we were initially assigned to was in no sense a suite, not even a junior suite, with no partition in the room whatsoever. Just a larger room (presumably).Complementary breakfast for Globalist is disappointing to say the least, just one drink and one pastry/warm muffins with turkey/eggs, offered as a to-go from the lobby market. No fruits or vegetables, and my request to pick a cold sandwich instead was denied.Lastly, they havent posted the stay to my Hyatt account within 72 hours of check out. This property clearly has a lot of operational issues. The only positivity was the $118 room rate that I snatched months ago, but would never return at the current rates.
Never staying in a Hyatt again. I received horrible customer service. Man at front desk interrupted me, demanding my ID while I was asking a question. I suppose to speed up the interaction? $50 surprise resort fee on arrival, but its not a resort? No spa although its listed as having a spa on hotels and online (something I filtered for!) No bar, no restaurant, no room service... etc. Only food on property is a little deli type thing with muffins/ etc. I called to front desk using hotel phone to ask a few questions. After answering my first question, the woman said Anyways, gotta run! Bye! and hung up on me! I wasnt even done speaking! My jaw actually dropped. The room was very dark- the one window faced another building/ an alley so there was no natural light and a view straight into either someones apartment or another hotel. Poorly designed room... bed faced away from the door (L shaped room) and did not face the television?? Bathtub had hair in it, bathmat was stained/had what looked like a burn mark. I tried to complain (not rudely!) to the manager downstairs about my service and frustration at false advertising of amenities, and she asked me, What would you like me to do about it? and offered extra towels. I was finally credited $20 to use at their deli- but thats all! Im astounded that the former Commodore/ landmark Hyatt in the country has so few amenities, horrible customer service, unclean rooms, and overall such a terrible experience. It was my last night in NYC so I wanted to splurge on a nice room and was so incredibly disappointed.
I actually like this hotel due to its placement. Not far from the actual city and also away from everything. I like my room they seem to clean the bedsheets everyday. One problem is the people are very loud. The person upstairs seem to be jumping and dropping stuff. Probably my luck with the room but its well managed and is able to sleep. I am just visiting so it isnt like I am living there so Im not at the hotel a lot.
Had a pleasant stay for more than 2 weeks there. The Front-desk service was superb. The room was ok. Meet my expectations.Perfect Location also. But the Complementary breakfast for Globalist is disappointing to say the least, just one drink and one pastry/warm muffins with turkey/eggs, offered as a to-go from the lobby market, and the service was terrible, especially the bald guy from lobby market, very rude to the customers.
Nice hotel based in a great location to explore all of Manhattan very easily, grand Central Subway is a 5 min walk from your room! Rooms felt modern and clean like the rest of the hotel, small shop in the lobby that sells basic snacks, coffee and drinks. Shame theres not a proper lobby or bar to sit in for a while if you wanted. Had a couple of issues with the water in the room, but was soon found to be broken and was moved into another room!
In general clean and tidy rooms. But the staff is not friendly. We sat on the sidewalk and waited for an hour for our car. the car was never given to us. My husband took the car from the garage himself. They have a rule: you can get free items in the store once for $ 15. We took something and then I saw that money was taken from my credit card. I had a bad experience for big money.
The hotel was nice and our room was great! If that was the only part of our experience here, we would give the place 5 stars. However, if you’re planning on driving here, the valet is ridiculously expensive for poor service. It took them over 20 mins to get the car when we checked out, and at one point the doorman sent us to an entirely different parking lot half a mile away (with our bags) (for no reason!) On top of our walk, when we returned, the doorman was incredibly rude when we questioned why we were sent to the wrong location. The actual valets are really nice, just clearly understaffed. The doormen, on the other hand, are rude and unhelpful.
We booked Hyatt thinking they’ll have baseline hygiene levels and a good stay instead we were assigned a room that was stinking. There were hair in the shower when we entered indicating it clearly hadn’t been cleaned thoroughly. When we called the staff to request for a room change or notify them of the issue they just transferred our calls, made us hold and hung up on us without so much as a call back. This is really shocking and embarrassing for a place like Hyatt that charges a good amount. I’m never returning here again. There are multiple hotels and BnBs in NYC that are far far better than this with great customer service but Hyatt Grand Central New York is not that place.
Average hotel.Lobby is nice and fancy, with a large atrium. And the location is amazing, right above grand central so it’s a main hub for almost all forms of transit. Super easy to get to.As for the hotel itself. Solid 3 stars. Rooms are okay. Windows open. Which is interesting for a hotel in NY.Location is the main convenience here. And the fact that you stay in a chain like a Hyatt so can use points / credits etc for your stay.Would recommend to any one who’s not looking for anything fancy but wants to stay midtown and close to transit.
Nice looking huge hotel at a great location as it is right next door to Grand Central and the subway. The rooms are pretty nice and modern for a Manhattan hotel, but there isnt much amenities for the price. I would not pay more than $200 a night here. There is a security person that checks each persons key upon entering, a gym, and a small overpriced market that sells snacks and pastries. Some of the things they do seem pretty scammy. They charge a $40 per night destination fee to provide free wifi, some discounts you probably wont use, free calls, and a $15 credit at their market. Not sure about the free calls, since they also list the calling fees in their guest booklet, which has to be accessed on a phone. The $15 credit seems nice, but remember that it is paid for through the fees. When I tried to use the credit by charging the purchase to the room, the price increased drastically. There was no coffee maker or complimentary bottled water in the room either. There is a small fridge but no microwave.
This hotel is a great centrally located comfortable stay in Manhattan. The beds are comfortable, the pillows and linens are nice- something you don’t find quite often in nyc 4 stars. Check in was smooth and easyThere are three qualms about the hotel-1 . The toilet paper is maybe the roughest toilet paper I’ve ever used in a 4 star hotel. Legitimately sand paper might be softer.2. Water temperature is not consistent, and the tub is not usable for a bath- the stopper is removed from the rooms and the bottom faucet does not work.3. The room service ladies bang on the door starting at 8:50 to ask if you want your room done- the walls and doors are paper thin so doesn’t matter if you have your dnd sign on you will hear them yelling at your neighbor. This is not fun after a night of drinking.Overall a solid stay nonetheless. 3.8 stars.
This location is extremely outdated, cracks in walls, old smelly carpet, dingy room furniture, and hair in tub from previous guest. I felt so disgusted staying at this hotel. I had to change rooms twice and each room was equally as horrifying. The television didn’t work and the room smelled warm and moist. Please clean your rooms and put some money into updating the interior of the rooms. The best part of this hotel is the lobby, it’s beautiful
Shower was broken, tub didn’t drain, rooms were dirty, you can literally hear everyone in the rooms nearby. Took hours to get an extra towel. We come to NY several times a year, I do not recommend this hotel. Oh - and they also have a $40 fee per day for a ‘destination’ fee that they will sneak in when you check out. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else.
Grossed out. My first room had fecal matter and pink striping in the toilet, I let them know in the morning, they didn’t clean it. I asked for a different room and it was moldy with string on the floor under the toilet. The location is great, the standard for cleanliness is not.
This place is horrible. For the price you pay, you’d think it would at least be clean. We found hair on our pillows and sinks were dirty. The first night when we complained to the front desk, they were rude and said that we were committed to the room. The next day we found out that our shower couldn’t get hot, so when we called house keeping, they said someone would come up. Fast forward 7 hours and no one came. They let us switch rooms, but the room we were switched into wasn’t any better. This hotel is old and you can tell they don’t care about taking care of it. Cracks everywhere. Paint peeling. I’ve never felt so grossed out.
Hotel has great service but not great amenities. Perhaps once it fully opens will be better but restaurant and bar were closed. Room needs a refresh, furniture in room was either broken and non functional. That being said, location is amazing including being attached to Grand Central.
The location of the Hyatt Grand Central and the proximity to the subway and rail lines is the most redeeming quality for this hotel. Second is probably the sheer number of speed of their elevators. We were sent a QR code to skip the line to check in before we physically arrived at the hotel. Well, the QR code machine was broken. Even though there was more than one employee available to check guests in, the line was always long no matter what time of day we walked through the lobby. The air conditioning was highly regulated to where it seemingly was always at least 10-15 degrees above the thermostat reading. For example, we lowered the room temperature to 65 (the lowest) before dinner. After returning several hours later, the room still felt in the upper 70s or low 80s. The shower was disgusting. There was a sliding glass door that had a plastic channel on the wall. There was noticeable black mildew or mold underneath and around the plastic channel. The telephone in the room was not working. The light switch was hanging out of the wall. We actually brought these issues up after the first night and were moved to another room and given a small credit to our bill. The second room also had the air conditioning issue as well as the mildew issue (slightly better). At the end of the day, we stayed here because it was a Hyatt after all and was easy for transportation to a wedding in Westchester County. I would not stay here again. There are certainly plenty of other hotels in NYC in great locations that likely would not have these issues. This was also my first Hyatt and probably my last. Its a shame one bad experience with a brand can do that, but Ive stayed at a number of brands under the Hilton and Marriott umbrellas and they all beat Hyatt.
The rooms are worn, but the value of sleeping atop Grand Central Station at a very reasonable nightly rate for Manhattan cant be beat. You are in the center of everything in midtown, and a short walk to trains and subways that can get you anywhere in the tri-state area. I keep hearing that this hotel is going to be shut down, and all I can say is that would be a tragedy. Worn rooms and all! The team in the lobby Market is amazingly friendly and thoughtful in the face of extremely busy peak hours. Prices are high, but quality is really good for a grab and go lobby eatery. I cant think of a better VALUE in midtown Manhattan.
When you first pull up you are greeted by the happiest & friendliest man, Felix - I can not say enough good things about this warm & courteous man!!Our entire stay was wonderful - everything was handled safely & far surpassed our expectations.Plus, you can not beat the location for NYC - walking distance to everything.
This hotel is in a fantastic location - easy access to subway stations and walking distance to the time square. My room is clean and looks nice, the only thing is the first night I could hear people in my next room partying hard and talking loud in the middle of the night
I stayed in this property twice in the last month. My first stay was during first week of April was good. I stayed again in the end of April and their Manager Ms. Sharon misbehaved and her attitude was so rude. She don’t deserve to be in the Hospitality Industry. Very poor guest services.
Bed Bugs!!!We arrived to NYC for a wedding, only staying at Grand Hyatt for the long weekend. First day my fiancé and I noticed a few bites but thought nothing of it. By the second day were covered in bites!!! We checked the bed and surrounding areas and found more than enough evidence of bed bugs. When I told staff, we were told the manager, would reach out to us. He did not. I then reached out, providing pictures of the bites and evidence and was provided with a very dismissive email. then refused to provide any evidence that the room was inspected and has since stopped replying to emails. This is not the service you expect from Hyatt.Resorting to Hotels.com staff, they were kind enough to reach out to Grand Hyatt but relayed that they also found Nicolas dismissive and unhelpful. If hygiene and customer service is important to you, I would avoid Grand Hyatt.
We had to pay an extra $40 fee per person and per day that wasn’t included in the Expedia rate. The rooms were noisy at night, my friend had a leak in her shower, food at the market overpriced, and the gym was closed due to COVID . There is no place to sit other than the busy lobby. People working there were very friendly though.
If you want to be woken up in the middle of the night by construction noise (a jackhammer going non-stop 29 floors below) - then stay here.If you want to have your bathroom flooded in the middle of the night because the bathtub in the floor above you spilled over - then stay here.If you want to deal with a front desk that doesn’t answer the phone - period - then stay here.If you want to be woken up by your next door neighbors because the shared room door is thinner than a slice of New York pizza - then stay here.My expectations were low and on the day of my checkout, the bar has been lowered. Horrible horrible hotel! Glad to know it’s going to be torn down.
This is the worst hotel Ive been in in a while. Rooms are tiny! Refrigerator is small, doesnt cool well and they have it on the floor in the only place to walk, right next to the bed, so you will stub your toe on it as you go the bathroom at night. Water pressure is awful, sink wont drain, drain in shower is loose and will cut your feet if youre not paying attention. No microwave, so I decide to call to the front desk to ask where I could heat up my food and the phone doesnt have a ringtone! Really awful!
Impeccable service! All the staff are super helpful and go above and beyond to provide great service for our stay - a massive thanks to Kimberly, Tatiana and Mackie for making our stay truly memorable - would highly highly recommend this hotel - great location to walk to Times Square and Parks
Very beautiful hotel, inside & out! Selfie worthy if your like me. lol. The hotel is located maybe 1 or 2 minutes max from Time Square. I was in walking distance to everything I needed while in NY and its right next to the grand central terminal. The room was nice and beds were extra comfy. For some reason when we got to our room we didnt have towels or cups. I thought that was strange maybe housekeeping just got it ready in a hurry, but no big deal I called down to housekeeping and they got me right. We had one hiccup upon checking out. The hotel was unaware there was going to be a marathon going that day so Valet literally took over an hour to bring me my car, was a little frustrating because I had a 13 hour drive back to Chicago and wanted to beat most the night driving. But once again no big deal because the hotel did reimburse me for one night of Valet. Overall I would definitely stay there again.
Stayed here last May 13 and I wouldn’t recommend this hotel. No parking. Valet parking is too expensive. And you can’t sleep as the room is extremely hot at night. The AC of my room never lowered the temperature to a cool and kept turning off on its own. Needless to say that I couldn’t even rest that night. 👎
I just checked in and nothing is going to change how I rate this place. For one it takes about 30 minutes to check in. Secondly, apparently if you use a third party site, the “resort fee” of $45 is not included. Yes a “Resort Fee” in Manhattan, not the Caribbean. I knew nothing of it until I go to check in, and when I ask to speak to a manager the ignorant host just says she’ll cancel the reservation. Makes me wait 15 minutes for a manager to only come back by herself. At this point, I just decided to pay it because otherwise I’ll be without a hotel on a Saturday night in Manhattan. The rooms are extremely outdated and a bit dirty for $300+night plus the $45 “resort fee”. I would stay anywhere else but here.
Definitely not a five star hotel. Dusty dirty rooms, unclean sheets, hair everywhere from previous guests, no restaurant or bar, random bugs, and the AC blowing dust is not 5 star worthy. And don’t even get me started on the staff. Tatiana needs to be be under performance review for they way she manages her staff and how she treats guests. Also 99% of all the 5/5 star reviews are bogus reviews from the staff. This location has turned me off to all Hyatts. Stay away and book Hilton
The hotel charged 2x 20 USD as porterage gratuity, claiming that the porter was standing by reading to bring up our luggages. This wasnt the case. The fitness room was out of order. The electronic check-in option did not work. Electricity plug wasnt working in the bathroom and the room was loud due to having a connecting door to the adjacent room. All in all, this hotel was not worth the price in spite of the good location.
I absolutely love this hotel. From the wonderful restaurant called the front Yard to the fun gift shop to the pool and bar everything here is just fabulous. The rooms are not huge but they are decorated very cool and retro and they are also quite clean. The beds are comfortable and the showers have plenty of power. Try a mai tai by the pool and enjoy your Saturday at the Garland hotel.
By far the worst hotel I have stayed in in NYC. I am here for business and the walls are so thin you hear everything at night, the clientele is loud late. I called the front desk asking for ear plugs as the pair i brought disappeared from my room- they never got back to me.There’s no coffee machine in the room and the light switches barely work.
Front desk staff were rude, bathroom tub had some one else’s hair on it. The rim under the sink in the bathroom was disgustingly dirty, the door handle was filthy with large visible stains. And the city view was a brick wall of another building literally. Front office staff was not accommodating, House keeping removed the hair but did not re-clean the tub or sink as asked by me. I could go on and on about the staff
This is a bad hotel. We upgraded to a suite for $100 extra a night. The suite had no hot water and the hotel did nothing to fix it the first night. Then we changed rooms. The mnanager promised a rebate but never credited it. The hotel has no services and changes a $39 destination fee which they did not tello me about at checkin. Thie staff is rude and uncaring and service is non-esxistnat Dont waste your money. The Westin down the block is far superior.
By far my worse experience with a hotel. I booked on booking.com I received a reasonable price but when I got to the hotel the hotel charged me double the price. When I realized I have been calling this hotel ALL DAY & have yet to get an explanation or to the billing department. Called EVERY NUMBER given to me & nothing. When I ask to speak to the manager I was told he/she would say the same thing??? How tf does that help me??
Be warned. They charge a $30 resort fee when you check in to cover free wi-fi, $15 credit for drinks the first night at the Market, 10% off sight seeing tours, and free long-distance calls. Had I known about the mandatory resort fee, I would have stayed at one of NYCs many other hotels. The tub was so slimy, I almost fell. The stopper was also broken.Overall, not worth the money and the scammy fee you dont know about until after your credit card is in their hands upon check in.
I have been a loyal member of Hyatt hotels since 2013 and I must say I have never so disappointed in the Hyatt brand than I am with my stay at the Hyatt Grand Central NY. I typically stay at the Andaz location on 5th Avenue but decided to stay at that Grand Hyatt for nostalgia as this was my first introduction to the Hyatt brand in 2013. This hotel has drastically gone downhill. The Skelton staff that was present were pleasant but that was not enough for me to overlook the grime around the drain in the bathtub, the scratches and stains on the walls, and the overwhelming present lack of amenities for us Explorist at Globalist members of the Hyatt brand. If it wasn’t for my partner being with me saying let’s just make the best of it; I would have left as soon as I saw the condition of my room. This location is abysmal. It’s disgusting. Run away! 🏃🏾Hyatt you should be ashamed of yourselves for offering stays at this location!
If your booking using Hotwire and you chose to stay in midtown east, the hotel is most probably going to be this one. We stayed during Memorial Day weekend and the rate we got was very good, 190$ USD a night for 2 queen room. Now with that in mind, location wise, it was very easy to go and explore New York City, the metro is steps away and Citi bike rentals are a short walk away. The rooms were clean and spacious for New York standards. However do take into account the 39$ a day destination fee. Although you do get a 15$ daily credit to use at the convenience store at the lobby, I would rather forego the fee and buy the stuff I need at the Amazon go around the corner.
Definitely the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. The check in experience was terrible, and when I entered my room it was messy and had not been cleaned before my visit. When I went down to sort out the issue they were very hostile, and took mangers intervention to sort out. There was no water in the room!! Absolutely pathetic!!
Grand Hyatt NY at 109 East 42nd Street. Towels shredded. Bed sheets stained. Shower broken - while I fixed it after flooding the tiny dysfunctional bathroom I still had to get soaking wet with ice cold water to turn the shower on. The chair was ripped to shreds. Too bad I cant post pics of all this nastiness. And this came at a price of $376 a night.
See for yourself, this is at most an obnoxiously overpriced motelBathroom is so tiny that I can’t even wash my face without either my elbow hitting a wall or my head bumping into the mirror. I am not even 6 feet tall. There are water damage marks and cracks everywhere in the room. Some leftover food in the corners.I really can’t believe this is called Grand Hyatt.
Wow this place went downhill. Sure its clean and centrally located but no room service, no business center... And the rooms are stark. This is like a budget motel in the center of one of the busiest locations in the world! Staff were all very friendly, but come on Hyatt.....for the money this is totally embarrassing.
We just stayed here for a holiday weekend with the family. Let me start off by saying it is not worth the great rates this holiday season. When we first arrived everything seemed normal, higher wait time checking in etc due to traveling and tourists. But checking out is a disaster. The lovely doormen mentioned we should call 30min in advance. My family along with everyone else waited 1.5-2 hours for our car. This is not at fault of the doormen or car valet but rather the short staffing. You are better off parking at another garage around the block (also recommended by the doormen). Second, the rooms have touchscreen lights. One word, disastrous. Our room kept turning on and off the lights the ENTIRE NIGHT. We slept in increments of hours, if we weren’t exhausted from our day we wouldn’t have slept at all. Lastly and most importantly, this hotel just reopened November 1,2021. They are short staffed beyond imaginable, we felt terrible for the workers as they truly are doing their best. Even worse, they tried to reopen without doormen! The Union had to fight for them meanwhile they were one of the most helpful of the staff! This was not a pleasant experience which was very disheartening given their previous reputation and our experiences with them before.
We were VERY disappointed and shocked after our recent stay at the Hyatt Grand Central in NYC earlier this month [Dec 11-16]. Upon arrival there was quite a long wait to check in and only 2 staff members working desks. When we opened the door into our room the tile immediately at the entry way was extremely tacky/sticky and had a large coffee spill on it - We also found numerous hairs throughout the bathroom area. We went back down to the front desk, waited in line again, and were offered another deluxe room [which we had booked and chosen due to the photos on the website]. Imagine our surprise to find that not all deluxe rooms are the same - the new one we were assigned had a completely different layout than the photos, only one window, and the chaise was positioned in a dark back corner of the room. We went back down again and asked for a deluxe room as shown in the website photos and as was our first room - we were told that there were only a few rooms with that particular layout [if thats the case WHY is it showcased on the website as the deluxe???]We ended up agreeing to stay in our initial room because we wanted that layout and having someone from housekeeping come re-clean it. The coffee stain was removed and the tackiness with it, but she didnt bother to vacuum so all the hairs remained on the bathroom floor. Through the course of the rest of our stay we were disappointed by the significant lack of natural light in the room [the photos show the windows flooded with light] - only to find the windows were heavily tinted. The bathroom, and especially the toilet and shower area, had mold/mildew in large areas of the tile grout. The room also lacked any sort of basic refrigeration and only had a small ice bucket which was incapable of even fitting a single bottle of water.
Great and friendly staff! Despite holidays and tourism so there was a long line to check in, they were very nice and had a smile on. The room was great, plenty of fast elevators, security and the main entrance. I will definitely be going back to this hotel when i visit again.
I stayed at this property over 20 years ago so was excited to be back to the namesake of the Grand Hyatt line. I should have not bothered. Checked in digitally but the four machines which should have been working to give me my room key were not working so wait in line I did. Check in process not good. Rooms looked updated which they should be after having been closed for 18 months (really?). Temp was a little high so set the thermostat and headed off to dinner only to be greeted by a hot room when I returned. I woke up sweating to a room that was 75 degrees eventhough the thermostat was set for 66! Ridiculous. Then there was no hot water in the sink. Was then greeted with around $80 in taxes and fees on top of the room rate. The location is great. Service and overall experience not so much. As a lifelong fan of the Hyatt family of properties very disappointed.
Hotel is very short staff, only 25% staff was rehired after the COVID-19 pandemic. Hotel well situated, next to Grand Central Station trains and subway. Room was clean. Many long lines to check in or out. Sometimes the street porter not available to call for taxis. Great concierge help with selecting places to visit. Staff nice. Does not meet my expectations of what a Hyatt is.
Hotel was great, and the staff was friendly. However, beware if you plan to take a car and use valet. People were waiting over 2 hours to get their cars back (they even lost one gentleman’s), and at $80 per day, that is certainly a rip off. There is no system for the valet, so it turns into a bit of a free for all. Great hotel if you don’t use the parking, but a big of a hassle if you do.
We stayed at this property 11/12/21-11/15/21. We reported to the front desk four times the problems with the sink. The water came out as only a trickle while there was excessive leaking from the faucets that was so significant you couldnt set anything in the sink area, with an extremely small area, resulting in water constantly leaking down on the floor. Each time it was reported supposedly someone from maintenance was going to come, it never happened. I question their cleaning standards because we found a sock from someone else under the bed, not far under right at the edge. The beds are hard and extremely uncomfortable. The windows are not sound proof because we were on the 21st floor and heard everything from the street. I also took issue with the $34 plus daily resort fee. When checking out I attempted to discuss with front desk agent Ricardo and he said I was free to leave a review about my opinion. I assured him that I didnt need his confirmation that I could leave a review. It was a hotel in a great location but I have no plans on returning on any future trips.
The bathrooms clash with green and black moldy colors and standing water in the tubs or the tap tap tap of a drippy faucet. The doorman will provide you a hotel car for your ride to the airport when said hotel car wreaks of cigarette smoke and a clacking engine that has been neglected for quite some time. The driver of this vehicle will gladly drop your bags on the ground upon arrival because his nauseous driving will have knocked this bag loose in “flight”. There is only a small shop to provide you with the over-priced hotel sustenance travelers know and love. This is a 3 ⭐️ hotel.
The stay overall wasn’t horrible, but some things were concerning. We understand they had just opened a week prior, but this was a hotel before it became the Hyatt so some things should’ve been standard. The first room we checked into didn’t have a bathroom mirror, it was missing entirely. Additionally, there was no shower door, with clearly a place for it to be. The sink in the bathroom leaked tremendously as well. Thankfully, upon bringing these concerns to the front desk, they quickly changed our rooms at no cost. Another negative is that the restaurant and bar were closed. We think this could’ve been super helpful for us and other tourists just coming in to the city from a long flight. The greatest parts were Yesenia of the Concierge desk and Kibria of the Market. Yesenia went above and beyond to help us look for things to do, easiest way to get there, and restaurants. She was amazing! Kibria was excellent too! His customer service was excellent and he even asked for instructions on how to make my Starbucks drink. Without these two, the review I would’ve left would be worse than 3/5
Very disappointing. We had a leaky faucet in the bathroom. Whenever we turned on the water it would start spraying water from both hot and cold faucet knobs and it would get wet everywhere in the bathroom. We called repeatedly for it to be fixed but we were ignored. We had to put towels everywhere so we did not slip and fall. It was frustrating and disappointing considering the price we paid for the hotel and its reputation. Plus, the hotel was supposedly recently renovated so it had just opened when we stayed there. It was unacceptable.
I must first say that the location couldnt have been more perfect and the hotel has HUGE potential to be a great one.Couple of things...We arrived a few hours before check in and was told we would get a call when our room was ready. Come 5pm we havent received a call. Ended up heading back to the hotel and asking if the room was ready. It was, they just never called to tell us.When we arrived in our room the room was not at all what was pictured online. We booked a corner suite. The size of the room ended up being fine but the room definitely didnt look like the website said. The phone did not work in our room so anytime I needed to call the front desk I had to call with my cell phone and sit on hold for 10+ mins. After reaching someone by phone I asked them to come fix our phone and to bring more pillows to our room. 24 hours later and neither of those things happened. I ended up going to the desk to ask again. The phone was corrected but no extra pillows were brought up. Finally after a 3rd request we got pillows.Housekeeping kept our room clean the 5 days we were there. I would have prefered them ask if we wanted housekeeping instead of them just doing it. Thats on me though, as I should have said something.Masks in the hotel was not enforced. There were multiple occasions I saw people walking around the lobby with no mask, on the elevator with no mask, and in the cafe market with no mask. Anytime I saw it, I asked the person to put on on. Im sure you can imagine how that went. They got irritated and I just tested positive for covid. We checked out Sunday morning at 9am and I still dont have a receipt for my stay. I have called a few times and just keep getting put on hold.I try to be understanding as I realize were all just trying to make it in these weird COVID times. However I dont feel like this hotel went above and beyond by any measure to make our stay memorable or safe.
I am a globalist with HIIT which is their highest level and was told that I would have access to the Concierge club it turns out not only isn’t it open but there isn’t a single restaurant open in this hotel so you can’t even have breakfast. The staff was pleasant but you can tell that they don’t really have enough staff here to do anything. They also said they rebranded it from grand Hyatt to Hyatt grand Central because there aren’t any restaurants and they don’t plan to have any I was told. Even their lowest and Hyatt Place hotels offer breakfast this is an unbelievably bad experience I would not come here again and I’ve been coming here for 25 years on a regular basis
Nice hotel. Upscale. And right beside grand Central station which did wonders for our exploring adventures. Uber and Lyft rides were $15 plus for short rides and almost $50 to $60 dollars to go across town so the metro card and using the subway was a god send. The room itself was beautiful and very spacious considering some of the rooms we were looking at. However, there is a $100/day deposit for incidentals and if you are not a resident of NY you have to pay a destination fee of around $35/day. Which you pay when you get there. This wasnt explained to.us before and took a little off guard but we made it work. They let us checkout later at 1 pm for no additional cost which was nice because we really needed the rest. And also there was a beverage credit of $15/day at their cafe which helped with water and red bull for the walking days. The only complaint I have is in our room the hot water wouldnt stay hot when showering, there were some floor boards that were doing up in the room, and the couch that was in our room had some stains on it. Also I would think It would be better if they had a microwave because we wasted a lil food but nothing too major to complain about and Ill definitely be back because it was a BEAUTIFUL hotel with plenty of picture opportunities. The pictures included are in the lobby!
Amazing location right between Grand Central and the Chrysler building. Enough elevator banks for the size of the hotel. Reception understaffed, breakfast/ bistro/café/store very slow. It has a convenient tunnel to Grand Central which was chained shut last time I was here for some, also the escalator was broken. Coming back in a couple days, will update if fixed by then. Rooms vary, some of the suites on 34th floor are really nice even though you will find some damage here and there in almost all of the rooms I have stayed at. The touch control light switches are kind of a pain, youll see what I mean 🙂
Room was small including the refrigerator. No microwave and if I was to ask for one, it probably wouldnt fit.No wireless charger at least in the the closet I stayed in. Alot of upcharges for simple amenities. Staff is short at check inn. No bar. Only thing I enjoyed were the Greeter & Bellman.
My only issue with this hotel is the long lines for the elevator if you’re above the 14th floor. To either get up to or down from your room is such a pain! It takes FOREVER. Every time you think you can get on the elevator when it arrives, it’s actually full. Also, impatient guests would cut in line without a care in the world for how long everyone else had to wait for the elevator to arrive. Won’t be staying here again.
I wasnt impressed. I was hassled everytime at the door for my key card. The doormen were nice enough, its not their fault upper management set that rule. Come on guys, its a hotel not the White House... this level of security is a bit ridiculous.Rooms were decorated in a modest modern style, but the bathroom is tiny, toilet had rust, and light switches werent working correctly.
I had booked here for a weeks stay over Christmas. I had to cancel due to omicron and had a rate that did not allow cancelling. However they fully honoured my cancellation and did not take any money. I know where I will be staying when I eventually get to New York later this year!
Worst experience ever. Never visit this hotel. Parking service is the worst in NYC. It takes more than 2 hours to pick up the parked car. Paying $90 USD for the parking and getting it back in 2 hours. And texting service does not work. You just have to physically stay in front of the main entrance for 2 hours to pick your car.
Good sized clean rooms. Breakfast place is closed; they give you $15 beverage credit instead. We stayed at Hyatt all around the world - first time encountering funny moment at the door. Security Mr Marshall stopped us after a quick run, asked for a room key showed him my Hyatt key he didnt believe me and escorted me to the receptionist. Lol argued the key is new. Funny he didnt stop other guests in formal attire. Personally wont recommend this hotel - if you dont want this kind of encounter - many other 5* hotel with 5* services in this area.
Its shameful for the Hyatt brand. We saw hotel guests were eating breakfast and lunch at the hotel lobby daily. The restaurant, café or the bar were all closed, wouldnt believe that it is in midtown NYC. Best part, they have a 7-11 at the lobby for your convenience; wonder where is the coin laundry. YMCA.
Be ready to be ripped off from this place. In addition to all the taxes, fees and everything you are paying while booking the hotel, they will charge a HIDDEN $30 destination fee per night plus, destination fee tax %8.85 and plus NYC occupancy tax destination fee %5.88 which means $34.42 per night extra in addition to all the taxes you paid while booking. I am saying Hidden fees since those fees can’t be seen while booking for the hotel. If you want your bags to be stored for few hours after you check out, they charge $3 per bag and it’s needs to be cash!?, very questionable! They will give you an excuse with “ohh the hotel is just opened so the system hasn’t been set up yet.”We didn’t have coffee maker in the room when we first check in, they said it’s because of covid, which is understandable. I requested one and they brought one with few coffees thank to them. But during my stay, they never bring a new coffees or cups for the other days. It was not my first time staying in Hyatt hotels but I have never had an issues like this in any other Hyatt hotels. Grand Center location is not a good option.
Room was very clean & comfortable. First night we were there they took $600 off my credit card in error. It took me 3 days and speaking to 3 different managers to get it sorted. On the Wednesday night a mouse ran past us in the bar area. Booked tickets for Broadway with the concierge in reception. Broadway went dark the night we were due to go. I am still waiting for a $300 refund. There was nothing in reception to say that the concierge worked for another company and not the hotel. I found this out after emailing a few times. Very misleading and false advertising so be careful!!!
Wasnt given standard things that expect with my Hyatt status. Even though I requested no housekeeping someone came into my room. Also I had upgrade at a corner suite and it wasnt like the pictures and the room itself felt grimey although the main floors and common areas did not feel this way.
Positive: Location is great, down the street from Bryant Park and few minute walk to Times Square , Rockefeller Center, Central Park etc. Negative: The only reasoning for my average ratings is the long wait to check in & valet was very inconvenient as they gave me # to text an hour before but they ¿didn¿t receive it¿ & valet couldn¿t assist as they didn¿t speak English so had to wait o
This location was picked for business. Regarding business, the meeting space was fantastic. The lunch prepared was delicious. There were also ample snacks and beverages to pick from. The room was spacious and comfortable. The location put you close to walking, central station, and driving of majority of places. There were prompt responses when addressing questions coming up to stay through e-mail. Check-in was quick and friendly, as was check-out. Bell boys were helpful obtaining taxi services. Staff support for meeting lunches were clean and helpful. All around, fantastic support.
Great location for business traveller. The rooms are nice and fit for purpose. The service could be better but I Guess that’s how most of hotel service in New York. What I hated most was calling room service for basic supplies which should be standard. As simple as iron, shower gel, a shoe shiner. But apart from that, the stay is easy and comfortable.
Nice room. Good service. Upgraded to a suite which was very nice. Had an executive package which included alcoholic drinks, soft drinks and food in the evening well worth having that as NY is so expensive. A few little things could be improved on with housekeeping as had to ask for the sofa bed to be made up twice but other than that a great location as right next to grand central station which was central to everything. Take some comfortable shoes as you will do alot of walking!
Great sized room, fairly clean. There is some water damage in the bathroom and everything looks as if it’s seen better days. That said, there’s nothing really that bad. Our previous hotel looked cleaner but had some weird smells. So at least there aren’t any smells here.. The employees have been very friendly and helpful.
The location was great and room was clean. However for a high end hotel, the pillows were very uncomfortable my neck was sore and I had the worst headache. 2 Housecleaning ladies woke us up with loud speaking. Sheets are rough and the worst is they charge a $45.00 destination fee for a resort like feel. Like what?? Then When I told the front desk my concerns he said this was not a 5 Star Hotel, then why charge a destination fee??? Very poor customer service!! Never will return!
Locations, locations, locations... very convenient traveling on public transportation. With grand central station and subway right next door. My room is quite nice, not newly renovated, but still looks fresh, clean and functional. Hotel lobby is little bit of a mess, and can get crowded. Especially during check out time and can have long line to store your luggage after checkout.
The room was nice. The tub was very low and small so it was a bit small for me (510). The bed and pillows were very comfortable and made sleep very easy! The staff were nice and security strict in the lobby when it gets late which is nice. Overall great hotel to stay at for my work trip. I would definitely recommend.
Great location just next to grand central station. That’s about the only good thing.Service is not good. Arriving with luggage and only had the doorman watching. Greeted by a lady sitting like a high school kid during lunch break at the check in.And then told that a destination fee whatever it means of $25 would be charged everyday on top of the room rate! The room, worn down maybe... the light control ain’t working, and the bathroom door cannot be closed. And the small groceries shop at lobby overcharged me with item price not listed on shelf...I won’t stay with Hyatt group again ever.
Room was as expected for a grand Hyatt, clean, well appointed, spacious, and comfortable. The front desk was friendly, and the location is excellent for those who are willing to take the train. The stay was excellent save for checkout. When we went to leave our bags at the bell counter, they demanded $3 per bag. To be fair, I probably would have tipped something similar, but it felt exploitative, especially after tacking on a $41 per day “destination charge” on top of our stated room rate. The bag charge left me with a bad taste in my mouth. Funny how small things can leave a lasting impact.
Location, check in service, and other services were good. However, i couldnt believe how bad the room experience was. I paid about 400 including taxes on friday night. the room i stayed in had clear water damage with paints fading on the ceiling, carpets were not cleaned in the area where i suppose the water damage happened, and skirting panel was all dirty. If i could put a photo up i would post here as a proof. Room i stayed was 3104.
Staff are great. Location is very good, you can go through the hall to Grand Central without going outdoors. Doormen were so helpful in getting taxis. Bed was very comfortable. Closet space is great.Hotel itself is somewhat dated. Rooms have been updated in kind of a slapdash way. Furniture seems not to fit as well as it might. Nice small refrigerator. Bathroom was tiny, with almost no counter or shelf space. Not even a hook for a robe. Motion sensor night light in bathroom is a great idea, but ours blinked on and off all the time when it should have stayed on. Horrible toilet paper. There is NO literature in the room about the hotels features or amenities. Nothing is even available. I find that very odd, and unhelpful. Asked for a robe, nothing. Asked again the next day, they asked Small or Large, I said Large, and they brought Small. Oh well, it worked. Club Room was very nice, but I was surprised wine was an extra charge. Rooftop Tour is lots of fun. Take it if you can....

Pretty decent for New York, Ive never seen a New York hotel room within my price range that was spectacular. I would say this is one of the better ones. However, the doors do not depend sound very well and you can hear everyone walking by in the hallway talking and making noise which isnt that great. Bathroom is pretty minimalist. Room is comfortable to slightly on the smaller side. The view on our particular window is nice but not spectacular. Regency club is excellent, with two different city areas. It has an outdoor patio which is very nice, it kind of sunroom, which is all glass it looks out on the patio and then a nicely I mean eating area. Food is standard for Hyatt regency clubs. The hotel also is a small market offering snacks as well as some meals, including sandwiches, pizza, and burgers. Tried the pizza it wasnt bad. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Essentially located and right next to Grand Central station.
Great location, easy check in. Room was a decent size and clean. We didn’t get a chance to use the fitness center or eat in the restaurant, but there are plenty of nearby eateries to walk to. The entry and lobby aren’t very welcoming by its layout and decor, but it gets the job done.
Stayed here for a conference. Despite being a fancy hotel in the heart of New York City, the service is below satisfactory. The room service was slow to the point where we had to CALL the front desk for toilet paper, the mini fridge froze everything, and there is no one working microwave in the entire hotel! We found towels with suspicious brown streaks and comforters with giant coffee stains in them. Im giving 2 stars because I understand that I stayed during one of the hotels busiest time, but even then the basic responsibilities of the hotel was not fulfilled. If not for the needs of the interview, I would rather couch surf with my grandma.
The hotel is very dated! Rooms are average and just look clean as it’s so run down. We had a water bottle between our bedside and wall of our room that was there before we arrived, grout in the bathroom dirty, water damaged vanity and it goes on.Staff at the front reception were not helpful at all and when we questioned the hold amount on our cc the gentlemen couldn’t answer why that amount and then gave us massive attitude - so it was too hard and we left.Great location, however extremely disappointed as it is nothing like any other grand Hyatt in other countries we have stayed in. Not again!
The bathrooms are small, even for NYC hotels. The rooms are in need of an update.I gave the Grand Hyatt 4 stars despite this fact because the staff is excellent and they work very hard to provide exceptional service. Every request big and small was treated with the same level of care.If the bathroom size or modernization of the rooms is the most important thing for you, then this may not be the place for you. However, if excellent customer service is the most critically important part of a stay, then youll absolutely be happy here.
Great location, but far too overrated and too expensive. Just around the corner from Grand Central Station, its a fantastic place to stay and perfect hub to get around Manhattan and beyond. The room was nothing astonishing and the cleaning service was poor. In the corridors was too much noise and a lack of cleanliness. The lobby was fancy, but mostly too crowded. The front desks innovative, but not enough of them or at least not enough employees. The atmosphere was regular, very international and busy. The gym was fine, on the top floor, although most gadgets were old.Overall a disappointing experience, as for Grand Hyatt!
Nice hotel, friendly staff. Room floorplan is a little weird, we had a king with a sofa on the side but theres barely any room between the sofa and the bed. Room service was also a bit slow when we asked for more towels and soap, took almost an hour. Other than that was a pleasant stay, the 24/7 cafe downstairs has good selections and decent food.
Stayed here one night with my family and was extremely happy with the service, the room, and the location. We were on the 23rd floor in a double suite and the room was perfect, roomy and the view was spectacular. Room had a small kitchenette which was perfect to keep snacks and beverages in a full fridge. Keurig and coffee and tea provided as well. Starbucks conveniently located on corner.
Worst experience ever staying at a hotel. Very smelly room, customer service rude and patronizing, no respect Hyatt members. It was booked for a thanksgiving weekend for family but it ruined the entire weekend because of how awful the service and the hotel was. Changed 2 smelly rooms and was given a 3rd one without any improvement in customer service. Sheer disappointment.
Great for overnight stay. Very clean and attractive facility. I paid extra for a room with a view and saw a majorly large crane out my window, however, my request for early check-in was granted without extra cost which completely made up for the crane.Super easy access to this hotel from inside Grand Central Station. Staff that checked us in was extremely friendly and gave great advice on where to eat, not limiting suggestions to inside the facility. We werent there long enough to take advantage of any extra amenities other than storing bags on our departure date for a small fee, but I trust that its all great if anything in line with my actual experience.
As the newest addition to the properties my company uses for our clients and overseas staff, we were able to tour this property and assess what they had to offer. With up to four floors of conferencing space, a market open all hours stocked with fruits, snacks and even sandwiches among other foods, we were quite impressed. The standard rooms are spacious with the usual amenities and by all appearances seemed quite comfortable. The lobby area was bustling with activity when we visited but still quite ordered.Staff was very helpful and answered our questions leaving us feeling as if they definitely knew their property, which was refreshing. Totally recommend visiting while in NYC!
Rooms are a reasonable size and nicely decorated. The location is great with easy access to Grand Central station and Times Square. On the negative side, the beds are very uncomfortable. They offered no literature on amenities available; and the one night I tried to call for room service, it was unavailable. No in-room coffee (never seen that before) and no robes provided. I will definitely stay elsewhere next time due to lack of amenities for the price.
No great value for the price. Rooms are generally fine. However check-in service is slow and there are barely any amenities youd expect. No drinking water in the room or any complimentary tea or coffee or even slippers. Instead, they have us credit at the market in the lobby. Location is pretty much the main attraction of this place. Wouldnt stay again.
Hotel was nice and provided great service and discount (had a group which booked 30+ rooms at a time)it was until the restaurant in the lobby denied service to room. I asked the restaurant if theyre part of the hotel. They said yes. But when I asked if I can bring the dishes back into my room. They told me theyre different from hotel. Im all confused :O
Rooms are super small, the beds sheets did not smell as if they were cleaned or changed after previous occupant. Additionally they were not as comfortable as you would expect for the caliber of establishment associated with the Grand Hyatt. Water has strong chlorine fragrance. Dirty room service tray stayed in hallway for over 8 hours before being removed. The only saving grace was the hotel front desk staff. They were fun and extremely helpful.
The hotel has a beautiful lobby and the room was very spacious and clean. The staff is kind of surly and not very helpful. The computer to print boarding passses didnt work and I got poor information from the staff. The breakfast in the hotel restaurant was very good as was the service. The room was quiet and the bed comfortable. The location is excellent.
The main entrance/lobby is very big and has many seats and looks wonderful. The line for check-in is usually long, most busy in the morning. The rooms themselves aren’t very big. If you want a great view, you’ll want a room facing northeast. The rooms aren’t too clean. The hotel room bathroom is very small. A room consists of: a TV, a refrigerator, a couch, a desk stand, two beds, a closet, sink, toilet, shower, cups, plates, and other little things. I’d say this hotel is not worth it’s price.
In terms of location, it’s perfect as you’re right next to Grand Central Station where you can easily access the train lines to get around, and are close by to the major attractions like Time Square, 5th and 6th Avenue. The room itself was extremely cosy and looks great. Not exactly luxurious but good. The cons for me included cleanliness, my wife and I noticed a lot of dust in our room especially on the tables. On our first day we noticed a big chunk of shampoo on the shower head, which wasn’t cleaned properly. Due to this being a massive hotel, the lines for checking in/out and for the food market can be quite long especially during busy periods. Overall my experience here was good and it’s definitely worth staying here.
The room was nice and well furnished, with a large TV and a nice couch. Its right next to grand central Station, which is very convenient. The staff is very nice and the room came with a 15 dollar credit for the (overpriced) hotel market, but it was enough to get us some breakfast. Overall a nice room, and good service.
Rooms are outdated but acceptable, with industrial style flush toilets and heavy damage to vanity. Service is fine, not great. But for a hotel at this price level (over $500/night after 6 or so taxes and destination fees), you expect better. However, location is great, with easy access to the Metro, and the lobby area is very nice. Good views from the upper levels as well.
Hotel was fine by hotel standards. I got checked in and out easily. When I arrived my room was clean. My biggest gripe of the week, was that daily my barely used bar of soap was replaced with a new wrapped bar. Totally a waste. The amenities were fine, skip the in lounge bar. Over priced and a waste.

2022-06-23Dont forget to use ʜoᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking your room. This web site will compare countless booking websites and normally will have rooms a lot cheaper than others! Youre welcome :)! This hotel is one of the best in the area. I have been staying here for a very long time. If you choose this place you for sure wont be let down.Perfect place to stay in Manhattan. Its within walking distance of Times Square, Rockefeller Plaza, the SUMMIT One Vanderbilt, and many more places. Easily access Grand Central Station through the lobby. It was reasonably priced and the room was a bit small, but modern and clean. Perfect for a 4 nights stay. The staff was super friendly and knowledgeable of how to the take the subway to go to different places. Will be staying here again.

2022-03-15Had a great stay here with 4 of us for 4 nights. The location is great as youre able to head downstairs to access the subway without going outside, as well as being walking distance from many popular sites. The room itself was more spacious than I was expecting, with a view of the Chrysler Building, and we appreciated the large closet for storing our luggage. Staff were friendly, the room was very clean (and housekeeping services were taking place daily), and beds were very comfortable.

2022-03-15Loved my room! The pillows were so comfortable and so was the bed. The closet was huge, and was able to accommodate all my luggage. The bathroom was nice and big, and so was the room. I got a king size room. On the 27th floor. I also really loved the gym, they provide water in the gym and the equipment was top notch, please see my photos. Wonderful hotel! I also had a FedEx package overnight, and the mail room was exceptional. When FedEx skipped our stop because the queue was too long, The Hyatt employee in the mail room assured me that they would come back that same day even though FedEx said that they attempted the delivery. The Hyatt really made me feel like everything was going to be OK… and an hour later it was!

2022-05-13The lights in the room are so incredibly frustrating and there was no manual in the room to show how to fix it. There is no restaurant or room service only a small overpriced market that closes at 10. We didn’t get told what time it closed and by the time we went to use it it was too late. The front desk told us one thing and the checkout told us another. Overall the only good thing about this hotel is it’s proximity to grand central station. Do better Hyatt

2021-12-28My family and I were a little concerned due to some reviews about this hotel recently reopening, being short staffed, and long check-in/out times.Do not be alarmed. Our stay here couldnt have gone better. 2 days prior to arriving we decided to opt for early check in and our room was ready by 9:30 am when we showed up. Upon entry a doorman verifies you have a room key before entering. Very clean room and the hallways smelled sanitized. Night one we noticed our bath tub backed up. The next morning before heading out we let house keeping know and they put in a work order. By the time we came back that evening it was fixed. Calling room service for extra towels or pillows was quick and painless +/- 5 mins during a busy time. This hotel is walking distance from many local restaurants and Grand Central Terminal is literally connected to it if you would like to take the subway.Be prepared to wear a mask and show proof of vaccination while dining out around the city.

2022-05-22Quite disappointing hotel, the location is top, you are really close to everything and the bed is good. However, the welcome is very cold and the staff is not understanding about your problems related to your room. We had neither fridge nor coffee maker and some non-functional electrical outlets. For a hotel that boasts of being a 5 star and for the price of $ 400 a night its not ok. In reality it is a 3 star because the 5 stars come from customer reviews and not certified organism. You can find another hotel much better for the same price.

2022-05-30Overall decent hotel. Would I stay again. Probably not. While it was in a great location, being interconnected with grand central station. The cons outweighed the pros. Such as the resort fee which was $39.99 plus taxes. With that money it gives you $15 at the hotels market. But why not just lower the resort fee. We are in NYC, we don’t want hotel food. We tried to check out early and ask to hold onto our bags so we could have a couple more hours and then housekeeping could get our room ready for the next guest. But we found out that it was a $3 a bag fee, which just seems crazy. We are already paying a resort fee. Parking now was a whole different story. Getting to the hotel and valeting our car was great. Trying to get our car when checking out was difficult and a long process. After waiting a while, as they only had one valet working. We walked to the Westin where our car was, which was a lot quicker than waiting.

2022-05-16I was a bit worried after I booked this on a discounted website and read the reviews, but our stay was fine. Agree that the lines are long for checkin but it seems to be the standard everywhere you go now. Resort fee is bogus and unnecessary.Room was clean. Yes, some cosmetic things in the room but nothing that ruined our stay. Quiet from street noise but loud with doors closing in hallway. We were at the end of a hallway and it was much quieter than near the elevators!Great location to subway and you don’t even need to go outside. Easy walking access for so much in Manhattan.

2022-05-29Great place, $$$s but you get what you pay for.Location is great, rooms and service was great as well. The lobby and the bar were the best.Would love to stay here again but this place is very heavy on the wallet
