The food is totally non authentic and the flavor tastes like a child is cooking in their kitchen. Super high prices as compared to other Indian restaurants in the area. Only biryani and dosa may be worth trying. Dont even try north Indian food here. Poor taste and high price. You can have better food for free at the Indian temple in Henrietta.
The worst experience ever had in any restaurant. We ordered 2 appetizers, 1 curry item, 1 biryani and 1 fried rice. We also ordered mango Lassi and almond milk.First crazy thing about almond milk they just added MTR badam mik powder in milk and gave it. Dude thats not how it will be done. No one sells like that. For mango Lassi the yogurt didnt mix well with the mango pulp. It was like Im eating yogurt. Now here come a curry item no sign of appetizer and them got fried rice. Still no sign of appetizer and all other tables are getting appetizer even some people are getting without ordering. There is one guy is not even checking with any table what they want and Ive asked him where are our appetizers he said its coming in 2 mins they just took food from freezer and heated up without cooking properly and gave it. Worst taste ever. That too after one hour. We already finished our curry and fried rice. Now when Ive asked about biryani they are checking what we have ordered and they just forgot. We came at 2 and they dont provide food till 3.We finally ate good tastey burgers at Chick-fil-A
Good food but terrible service. We got put in the back corner, then had to ask repeatedly for our drinks and meals. I got my dinner more than ten minutes before my two family members were served. All dishes was cold by the time we all got served. It took 25 minutes to get two Biryani’s and Naan?! Restaurant wasn’t even a 1/3 full.
Good biryani but a huge waste of time. Rude and uncourteous staff. Giving 2 stars because I’ve had biryani from this place before and it was amazing but with my recent visits there I’d give it 0 stars. I used to stay in Rochester and loved ordering biryani from this place (only went for dine in once). So, I took my parents all the way from Washington state to Rochester and really wanted them to try their biryani out. We reached the restaurant at 8:20 pm and closing time is mentioned as 9:30 on google which is a huge lie. We were told to wait in the reception, so we waited for almost 15mins of radio silence, then the host came back to us and said that they’re closing in 20mins and that they do not have any table available, though I could see at least 5 empty tables from where I was standing. They could have told the same to us without making us wait and with a better attitude. Due to their delay we could not even go to other restaurants that are actually open till 9. The way they told this was a bit rude and uncourteous. They should change their advertised timings and the open sign if they do not want customers coming in to their restaurants after 8 pm.
Very bad experience. At first I asked the front desk lady weather tea is available. She said Yes and after sitting on table the server asked us weather we want tea after meal or before we said we want just tea. After 15 mins he came and said tea is not available. We were traveling and we want to have tea but looking at the way this restaurant wasted our precious time we will never ever visit again.
Don’t forget to check your pick up order before leaving the restaurant. They are really good at messing up the order. We mentioned 3 times on phone Tandoori Roti with butter and have them repeat the order. At the end No butter on Roti. The quality is not the same as well. Disappointed
Their food is ok. But they need a policy to ban people who did not shower that come right from the gym or from a sport. Went there once, and bunch of guys in their sports gear and clearly they havent showered. They are super smelly and I cannot enjoy my meal. They should have banned people who didnt shower right after a sport or the gym.
Even though they mentioned their closing time is 9.30, they stop providing food at 9 p.m. They keey 9.30 on their website and Google, and they keep their open sign on but they dont provide you food if you go there at 9 p.m. They say it with an attitude and very disrespectfully. I used to eat regularly from this place and I got this attitude from some of their staff (there are few good people as well). I am not sure whether they think that this is the only place in Rochester that we can eat Indian food. If you want to eat from this place, go before 9 because its clear they dont understand the meaning of closing time and also customer service.
We had a wonderful dinner at Hyderabad Biryani last Friday! The location and parking are convenient and the interior of the restaurant was comfortable and spotlessly clean. The staff was friendly and prompt. All Covid precautions were followed. The food was absolutely amazing! We had fish curry, goat biryani, chicken Chettinad, cut mirchi, and plain and garlic naan. Everything was served fresh and hot, and each dish was better than the next! We had plenty to take home afterward, the food reheated well for a second meal. An additional treat was the mango lassi, a cool and fruity foil to the spicy fare. We would highly recommend this restaurant!
I Ordered royala vepudu and they clearly mentioned in the menu that this dish is a deep fried shrimp with herbs and spices but this is what I got boiled shrimp in a sauce, if u don’t know what the dish actually looks like you gonna be fooled, a month ago I ordered samosa chat and they just gave me samosa when I asked the server he simply replied that is what they call as chat, if they don’t have the dish you ordered instead of saying no they give what they have. Very bad experience everytime , also nobody puts their mask on , not sure if the chef puts his mask on
Best meal I have had in a while. The Gobi Manchuria was so tasty, perfect texture and so flavorful. The chicken Tikka Masala was tender and juicy. We had the vegetable dum biryani which was incredibly aromatic and beautifully plated. Everything was super hot and fresh coming out and came out quickly. Cannot wait to return here.
The worst biryani, period. Our mouth was burned because of the spiciness and had to throw away two packs of biryani. Taste wise, You can get better biryanis from local shops in South India which costs like 70 rupees and these deepshits are charging 18 USD for the same.
I feel bad that I had to give this low rating. We order from this place every week but my last experience was terrible. We ordered Chicken Dim biriyani medium spice. We took carry out and when we came home and started eating, it was the most spicy food we ever had. The food had Chilli powder smell all over it. When we said this is not how a medium spicy biriyani tasted from our past experience, they said this is how it tastes. They didnt even accept taking back the food and giving us a replacement. So, big thumbs down to the Food and a 0 rating to the customer service.
During Covid, we have ordered food from Hyderabad Biryani three times and loved it every time. The curries are full of flavor and heat. I have had the Biryani a couple of times but opted for Vindaloo more recently. It could have had more chicken and fewer potatoes, but they gave us ample amounts of rice and lots of food. Further the sauces were just bursting with flavor. The amount of spiciness (heat), varies with the chef, so if you like it mild or medium, tell them. I loved the heat of the Vindaloo, but it was right on the edge of what I could handle. It was exactly what i was looking for, but some people might have been put off by the spiciness. My wife is dairy and soy free, and they accommodated her at least once by exchanging coconut milk for the regular milk the recipe called for, a nice personal touch. The number of good Indian restaurants in Rochester has grown, and Hyderbad Biryani is an excellent addition.
I don’t even want to give 1 star for this restaurant. We ordered chicken biriyani, chicken chili, chicken 65 and mutton biriyani and chicken fried rice for my little one. You won’t believe they put chicken 65 pieces in my less spicy chicken fried rice , chicken biriyani and chicken chili and that was super annoying. We dumped the whole order in the trash🤬.I just hope you will find my review helpful. DO not eat or order from this restaurant .
On the website it stated the staff has to wear masks and so do the customers; that one needs to reserve a table before going there. Twice I submitted a request for a table and never received an email for confirmation. I called 4 times to get a hold of someone to reserve the table; the man who answered the phone only asked how many people and what time and date; didnt ask my name at all. Today was greeted by probably the same man, no mask on; wanted my friend and myself to seat at a table next to a couple. Again online it stated social distancing. the server and this man didnt wear any mask; when it came to bag the food, he brought over containers too small to use and when asked for another container her brought over aluminum foil; picked up my Dosa with his bare hands and wrapped it. No containers for the chutneys etc. Service was terrible. Food was good. though. Need better communication and better protection.
I have visited this place with friends, many times coz of my taste for Indian food but today service was worse and unexpected, food was good though. Service has been terrible and when asked we were told that the service staff had put in papers (leaving the workplace soon) and thus explains the bad service. I wonder if this is genuine reasoning or a justification at all! Should any customer be ill-treated just because staff member is going resign? Is this ethical for any place of business that runs by customer satisfaction? Moreover, I am not sure if any COVID safety practices were followed as staff werent wearing any masks at least!
I recently ordered the Chickan Dun Biryani but was dissapointed. I asked for spicy but the meal was extra salty and spicey no actual flavor. I did enjoy the Garlic Naan. However I was surprised when the owner gave free Mango drinks to customers before leaving but when I asked for a drink he charged me 4.31!! SMH
Best biryani in Rochester!! Extremely flavorful, the meat and rice are always perfectly cooked. Consistently great quality, although portions could be better. Their other offerings on the menu are also very good, including the masala dosa and the uttapam. Truly authentic Indian food!Their service needs improvement, however. Have had my pickup order being incorrect a few times. Hope to see this being improved in the future!
I loved the goat biryani there but it seems with time their quality & quantity both have decreased. I got chicken biryani today and came to know that their main chefs have gone. I was amazed to get biryani with plate full of rice and 2 small pieces of chicken for $16...That was my last trip over there
Changing my review from 5 stars to 1 star because of their poor customer service. I had a grubhub order and I went to the restaurant because I received a notification saying my order was ready for pickup. I went to the restaurant and waited for more than 45 minutes and nobody cared to ask me about my order. I tried calling someone and they didn’t care to bother. The problem is they don’t have enough people the manage. Ridiculous!
Food taste decent. But the Portions are absolutely horrible for the price they charge. I got take out. I ordered Butter chicken and it came in the smallest container Ive seen from a restaurant. No way they serve that small amount when dining in. and it came with 1 piece of naan bread which is pathetic. All the other Indian restaurants give generous portions and 3 or 4 pieces of naan. Will not reccomend or come here again!
The best tandoor you can get in Rochester their Thangdi Kabab is great. Biryani and dosa are fantastic. The most authentic Indian food in the area. Other Indian restaurants in the area need to learn how to cook good healthy Indian food they cook with too much cream and the spice is virtually missing
Used to be my favorite place but since the management change the wait times have been ridiculous and the quality has been low.Got told 40 minutes for a pickup because they were busy, had to wait an extra 30 and then when I got the food it was somehow cold.About 3 door dash people were behind me who had to wait almost as long as I did so it wasnt just me.Done with this place, I wont be coming back.
Finally, a good South Indian restaurant in Rochester! They serve the best biryani in town, in my opinion. Their dosas and chutneys are amazing (This coming from a South Indian)! Crispy, fresh and flavorful. For just opening 3 months ago, I don’t feel the service is too slow (as others have noted). They are courteous and the food is delicious (which is ultimately what matters most). As their staffing improves so will the ambiance, decor and service. Go check it out, you won’t regret it. I’m sure we will be regulars!
Hyderabad Biryani House is one of my favorite Indian restaurants. They maintain the authentic Indian taste and the spicy flavour. The service is a little slow, but I think this will improve as they have opened recently. I never had the issue of cold food or less quantity. Overall the best Indian restaurant you could find in Rochester. ❤
Food was good, and different from other places Ive gone too. If not familiar with Indian cuisine (like I am) it is best to go with someone who is and can guide and explain what is what. Their mild spice is more like a strong medium in the chicken wing world. A slow heat that builds while eating, but tasty.
Some of the best Indian food I ever had! Unlike other Indian restaurants Hyderabad gave a good portion of goat meat to our meals. A perfectly cooked Goat Vindaloo Curry had the right spice level. Fluffy rice to go with our Hyderabad Goat Dum Biryani. And to kick out the heat we ordered a perfectly sweetened Gulab Jamun. Sssssooooo tasty and worth every dollar.
DONOT EAT HERE!! I had the worst experience ever. I order a bulk order on my birthday and everything they gave was spoilt. I already had a bad experience couple of years back. Up on my friends suggestion ordered food for pick up and when we came home and started tasting everything was spoilt. They charge heavy and provide low quality food. DO NOT EAT AT THIS PLACE.
The customer services is really bad. When we entered into the restaurant one of the employee was sitting on the table and greeted us. Also, the boss giving instructions to an employee in front of all customers so loudly and sometimes yelled him. It was bad experience for us. When come to foods, it was tasty but too spicy and the rice was not cooked well. Little watery rice ! The prices are super higher than the other Indian good restaurants. The food area little dark. Personally, I don’t recommend to anyone ! They should improve their customer service in order to satisfy their valued customers.
The best Indian food in Rochester, period. Superb highlighting of the aromatic spice profiles of Hyderabad cuisine. This is not your usual Americanized Indian food. Ask for the hot vindaloo and it is indeed HOT. Goat biryani was also exquisite.A note on the service: people are complaining about the slow service but that wasnt our experience. Staff was friendly and cheerful. Service wasnt super fast but I like my dining experiences to be relaxed and not have the waiter rush service and then rush you out the door like many other US restaurants.
The food was warm and very delicious. The best food in Rochester. Authentic spices!! Keep it up guys. I dont understand how someone can give them 1 star just because they dont accept card payment YET. Weve been there several times now and the food has been great every time.
I ordered mutton biryani on Saturday night and it was cold and the pieces were burnt. It was definitely not fresh. Definitely not up to the mark. How can they serve cold biryani. It was so good to see the rush and people are flocking in to this restaurant because of the good reputation of their Buffalo branch but for this one they are not able to keep up. They need to improve!!
Firstly, and most importantly, the food was amazing. Biriyani is not a dish to be taken lightly; it is all about a deep immersion of flavors, cooked together for a long period of time and theirs was a perfect combination of delicate flavors slowly folded into the layers of rice and eggs (we ordered an egg biriyani). Its unlike the biriyani Ive had an any other local restaurant and very authentic, tasty, and appropriately spiced. We ordered a few other South Indian items including a dosa, and vadas, which were all made perfectly, and the sambhar and chutneys were authentic and spicy.Id like to have given them 5 stars but the place is new and still a little choppy. It took them a little while to take our order. They first asked us if we were ready to order barely after wed had a chance to open the menu. Subsequently we had to get their attention after waiting a while. The bathroom was out of hand soap, and the towel dispenser was broken. This restaurant is a great addition to the Rochester Indian scene, its casual, not fancy, and designed around a good meal. Dont bother to dress to impress, but be prepared for a tasty spicy meal. If you like South Indian food you wont be disappointed in your meal. And they seem to be passionate about what they do, so I expect them to work through some of the service and peripheral issues as they settle in!
I decided to order some chicken biryani for takeout after a long time hoping things were better with this restaurant. But I was right again!!!! they continue to serve the pathetic food and no improvements at all. They gave me the left overs of the biryani and hardly had any pieces. The owners/management/chef ought to have some integrity while running this business, which is their bread and butter.Just say that you dont have the item and we will not order it. We are paying for the food and you are not running a charity. I will certainly take this to the fsis.
1) My order was forgotten 3 times! It wasn’t even a busy day. My colleague and I had to remind.2) Gobi Manchurian can be added to the desserts menu (Florets were dunked in a ketchup based sauce. The owner/manager refused to have it re-done)3) The proportions of rice and biryani’s must be done right. I can’t have 90% curry and 10% rice. Sorry.Definitely not returning in another 6 months.
I’ve been watching Grandpa’s Kitchen on YouTube and I see them making biryani a lot so I decided to give it a try from an Indian restaurant. I got the vegetable biryani and when I tell you that thing is spiccyyyyyy. I love spicy food but this is on another level. The flavors are good but it is very very spicy.
Its an amazing restaurant for Hyderabadi Lamb Dum Biryani. They have appetizers of Tandoor which are my personal favorites of all. Also they do have Badam milk, lassi, Madras coffee and Masala Tea as a refreshments. I would highly recommend Badam milk to those are milk tolerant.
Terrible service and my girlfriend got food poisoning after the lunch.Food: 2/5Service: 1/5Food:• Birayani was okay. Quantity felt lesser (Only 2 chicken pieces)• Paneer Chilli had ketchup which tasted weird and tangy• My girlfriend got food food poisoning within few hours of lunch. The plates had so many finger prints and drinking water from their water jug instead bottled water was probably a bad idea. I really doubt the hygiene of this place.• Tandoori Chicken was deliciousService:• Really bad. We had to wait like 50-55 minutes to get our order. Ordered 2 appetizers and 2 Birayani. 1 appetizer arrived after Birayani was served.• Staff really needs to learn about a good customer service. We tried to talk to them to check about our ordered and they completely avoided and ignored us. Quite embarrassing. Then they bring someone elses Birayani to serve us and when we asked if it was vegeterian, the waiter was confused and he start plowing the plate with a fork right in front of us to see if it was vegetarian. That resulted in some rice spill in the water jug, table and my cloth. Situation was understandable but it could have been handled bit better (take the food back in kitchen and check the food). They are open only for 2 weeks and plenty of slow service and cold food reviews. There is still a chance for the owner to address this issues before people stops going to make it a better customer experience and improve hygiene
Phenomenal food and very kind and considerate wait staff. Fact of the matter is you’re going there for the excellent food, not for the extra trimmings of sit down restaurants. This place delivers on not only taste and spice but also authenticity and variety. A great addition to the Rochester food scene.
This restaurant has disappointed me not with the food but with their service. They mention that restaurant closes at 2:30 but the kitchen shuts at 2:15. Which restaurant has such weird policies?? I called to order a pick up meal and they denied at 2:18 pm to take my order.Terrible customer service
We visited them this past saturday night. great place for desi food lovers. their food is pretty good and definitely on the spicier end as compared to other Indian places in town. will recommend the chicken biryani and dosa as must try. but what i really liked was the level of service our server karan gave us.He was very professional and waited patiently while we ordered. he was also very helpful in answering all the questions that my american friends had as it was their first time. most restaurants have rushed service but Karan really did make our experience 5 stars with his skills.we will surely be back.
The food is amazing but OMG the service! If you eat there you have to wait at least 30-40 min and on top of that the some of the food you order in the first place arrive when we ask for the check -_-I thought takeout would be the solution. I call 50 min ahead and still ended up having to wait 15 min there...The food is really good though. I think its bad management, the waiters walk around but seem a little lost, when the restaurant is not even half full it should not be such a struggle.I am disappointed because otherwise it would be my favorite Indian place in Rochester.I used to go to the one in Buffalo and never had any issue with the service...Please please please do better and we will definitely come more often!
Terrible service. This place is open for more than a month now but service is same bad. Had same experience when they started initially but avoided writing as I thought the place is new.Food quality is good. Ordered chicken dish, curry came first but it took 10 min to bring breads by then curry was cold. This happened twice. So please understand I am not coming to restaurant to eat cold food.Overall good food but terrible management. Take away is better option
Service is terrible. It was so rude that I was taken aback with the behaviour. Didnt expect this. Speaking about food I had Mutton Biryani, Chicken Biryani and Masala Dosa. Masala Dosa was not fresh at all and aloo curry stuffed in dosa does not have neither flavour/spice nor salt and Chicken Biryani I think it would better if they mention it as plain rice with chicken pieces rather than mentioning it as Chicken Biryani. It WAS JUST PLAIN RICE no flavour nothing! Only thing I found good was Mutton Biryani compared to other two dishes.
Awesome Restaurant.. I ordered Chicken Biriyani and Paneer Butter Masala. And they are very tasty and authentic.. I like the way biriyani came out .. Rice is cooked So perfect !. And regarding the Panner Butter masala. My Son loves it ! And the Staff is very good and Polite
We have had dinner and lunch multiple times from HBH. Being vegetarians we were not expecting much. But every time the food has been mind boggling. We have tried the rice, North Indian cuisine and the South Indian too. Must try and totally worth it. The last time we had paneer tikka and I am sorry to say the paneer was not fresh and we had a stomach upset that night. So wouldn’t try that again !!!
They dont know how to manage crowd. We were assigned tables and no one was ready to come to our table to take orders. We ordered chicken curry and Naan. Later we ordered more Naan for which we had to wait another 20 minutes and remind them 4 times about it. When i tried to call the waiter he was busy in one corner looking something in the phone. Staff members need to be trained correctly.
Their Service is terrible. We went for a team dinner on 01/08 and asked for ice water since the water served at table was warm. the server who is running food said they had no ice. But, a month ago they served us ice. We said we would pay extra for the ice, but he declined to serve the ice. NO ICE! Seriously, NO ICE IN A RESTAURANT? And, we ordered a 70MM dosa and asked him to make it with Ghee, and he again said NO. What kind of restaurant are you running? Can’t you customize an item based on customer request? I even asked him to charge extra for the ghee, but he said no. I’m not going to recommend this place, please replace the lazy server with some other one who can really take care of the customers!.
I am surprised that this restaurant does not have a procedure while handling takeout orders. They deliver the orders late which is quiet usual it seems!! On top of that, they also missed to add onions and lemon in the biryani. They need to understand this is not a charity and change their practices. Just cant believe they run another restaurant in Buffalo!
This place is terrible and they don’t have any customer serviceHalf of the restaurant is empty but we still have to wait for 45 minutes as per the host and later in 20 minutes we got the seatsWhen we got seated we asked for high chair for our little one, the answer is they don’t have high chair as they’re opened recentlySeriously will you take reduced cost for this ?And we did not get the menu card for another 20 minutesWater was not servedTerrible place and I will never want to visit this placeI think people needs to educate a lesson. Too much hypeLater after 20 minutes they said basically they don’t have briyaniAnd another person came and told me they have some
Firstly I was given the wrong order and they insisted that it was the right one. The staff is uncooperative and rude. The food is very inconsistent. Chicken tikka masla is a very basic Indian dish that they got wrong. It was yellow, loaded with salt and had absolutely no flavor. Will never be going back again.
Everytime I went in I had to wait over an hour and a half just for my vegetarian order, everything else does show up (late) but for ome reason the vegetarian orders are always very late. On top of poor service there is no consistancy in how the food tastes. The first time I went in last month, the food was very good. But the subsequent visits left me questioning if I should ever go again to this place. I am quite surprised as to how good they are at shutting out the feedback they get about food. The food tastes worse with every visit. And unfortunately I had to accompany my friends because they wanted to try. You can always let the minor things slide but food and and service are the crux of any restaurant. I do not feel that they are good at keeping them at par.
The place is highly unprofessional and understaffed. I’ve gone to this place many times thinking every time I go they will get better. But I don’t think they can get better anymore. The food is not consistently good. It’s good one time and horrible the other time. They forget orders, change orders, bill you for items which you didn’t order at all. Few days back my friend ordered paneer tikka for pick up and ended up getting chicken tikka which we realized only after getting home. And my friend became very sick after eating that chicken.
Update: took food for to go later and took gulab jamun. They were the worst ones I ever had! literally threw them all. The sugar syrup in them was WATER!They increased all the prices and did not update in online menu. When asked they said they have increased due to COVID. They should have reduced the prices but they have increased the prices and reduced the quantity!! Not worth going in people. Just letting all know!
Yummy Dosa and Guthivankaya. Really nice food and also reasonable price with authentic Indian and Andhra taste. The staff and service awesome. The best place in WNY to have a authenticated south Indian food is Hyderabad Biryani House. I highly recommend this restaurant.
They didnt accept cash and didnt bother to mention on the phone when I was placing the order. Bad business practice. Many people have written about receiving cold food. Thats probably because many customers who ordered on the phone wouldnt have cash on them and left without their food. They just used the same food to deliver it to another person. Heavily disappointed.
I placed an order for pick which includes a Hyderabad chicken dum biryani ,Goat biryani and a chicken 65, the chicken 65 is one of the worst I ever had and biryanis are not worth to try again, I personally feel i should have paid for eating. If you are a biryani lover better pick some other place if your hungry you have burger king subway and many other options nearby
I see reviews complaining about service times..... walk it off complainers, as perfection takes time. Seriously, service isnt that bad its just not corporate standards like people are used to. The corporate zombies could learn a lot from places like this; amazing food and passion is more important then Hi can I help you (within 90 seconds). This is some of the best food Ive ever had in my life. Its amazing! Light, balanced if you want it to be, spicy if you want it to be, always fragrant, seasoned perfectly. If this place ever starts selling beer, I might move to Rochester. Someone knows how to cook there. I went there twice in 3 days this week while I was in town for business. 3 stars for the service, 6 (out of 5) for the food, and 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 for my burning arse today. I do recommend this place, and I dont reccomend much.
Placed an order for three entrees. Only gave me two entrees and didnt ring up the third. Silly me for not checking my takeout. I called when I got home and they told me I didnt order a third entree and blamed me. Even when I went to pickup my order, the person at the front was on the phone and ignored me for 10 minutes because they messed up someone elses order. Poor service!
Great flavour and good sized portions, however the chicken I ordered ended up being all fat and tendons and hardly any solid actual meat... Now I understand the type of food that this is traditionally, but If I pay $17 for a meal I expect at the very least some decent cuts of chicken, would not pay that much here again but I may give something else on the menu a shot at some point.
Bad service. Generally even if the service is bad, the food is good here but those time around the food quality was bad. I ordered chilli garlic rice and it had no garlic and no chilli. On being asked about it, I was told that they do not have chillis and garlic so they gave rice with vegetables.
I was doing a door dash pick up and delivery order for this restaurant. They had me waiting for the food for over 20 minutes. I wouldn’t suggest ordering through door dash or any of the other alike sources such as Uber eats, Grubhub etc. waste of time. I just end up leaving
Worst experience ever, we have to wait for more than a hour when there is no crowd and they dont serve food, we ha e been many times here and they always do this, though we walk out when food is not served they didnt even bother to apologize or give a reason, we called initially and ordered food and after 20min we went to restaurant and they didnt bother to serve we have to wait for another 30min without food and service is really bad though food is good.... never ever wanted to visit this restaurant if this is the service they give

2022-03-21One of the better meals Ive ever had. Ive had it two meals in a row now, and tonight will probably make it 3. Totally unexpected, how good it is.Some dishes have the feel of home cooking, others are excellent examples of complex flavor and spices. If I lived here, this would be one of my go to places. My only regret is that I didnt order the whole menu.

2022-08-08If you would like to have some of the best biryani outside of Hyderabad then this is the place to go! The biryani is just excellent, competing with places like Shadab and Paradise! My favourite part of New York!

2021-11-24Everything was perfectly cooked! Wasnt crowded on a Saturday afternoon, (thus) prompt service. Loved the vijaywada chicken biryani. Chicken 65 is a must. Very different in taste than what we get elsewhere, but very soft and mouthwatering.

2021-12-24I would give it 0 stars if I could. This restaurant used to be good but it is really awful these days. Where do I even begin. I ordered starters and some food. They ended up bringing the main course first and mid way through finishing my main course they bring the starters. The Mysore masala dosa was really really bad. We ordered malai kofta which was really good but the disappointment was the onion kulcha and paneer naan. They were the size of a thin roti. The photo I added is the onion kulcha, it looks like a kulcha papad if you ask me. Our starters were chili bhajji which was ok but the chili paneer was absolutely horrendous. We couldn’t even eat a single piece of paneer. It was paneer marinating in something that looked like a cheap tomato sauce. If this place is known for Biryani they should abandon everything else and just sell Biryani. I have never been to a restaurant and felt so unhappy while leaving the place. The icing on the cake, the lassi we ordered was only three-fourth full.

2022-03-10Cross Contamination!!! Recently, I bought Vegetable Biryani from them and I found a small piece of chicken. I have dietary restrictions so I don’t eat non-vegetarian food and by choice I never eat meat. This is seriously ridiculous because this is happening for the second time. The last time this happened I called them and they said “it cannot happen” and as though I was lying. Unfortunately, the last time I did not have an image as a proof. Anyone who buys vegetarian food from them or those who don’t eat meat, think twice. Either they are using the same biryani rice for both vegetarian and non-vegetarian biryani or there’s cross contamination. I am reporting this incident to the health department as this is very serious to me. Will never visit again.

2021-06-234.5 stars. This restaurant had not opened when I was living in Rochester and I really wish it had. This is the only authentic biryani Ive had there! We came here on a week night but had reservations. Good thing because it was quite full! While they call themselves biryani house, they have south Indian cuisine primarily, some north Indian curries and the Biryanis. We ordered the Kodi vepudu (chicken vepudu), the Hyderabadi dum goat and chicken biryanis. They take time to get the orders in, so it allows you to actually have a conversation with your group. The vepudu was very good but too oily. That is the reason I give them 4.5 stars. Everything about it other than that was amazing! Spicy, masaledar and well-cooked as far as the chicken goes. This is definitely a dish for spice lovers. The biryanis were excellent! We ordered a spice level of 6, which I (who LOVES spice and always goes for highest) actually thought was decently spicy!! I didnt need to add any raita to calm it down. My brother, who took a 7 on the goat biryani, thought that was a little more spicy than he liked, so may be that would be the perfect level for me. Both biryanis were delicious. The rice was nice and separate. The meat (both goat and chicken) was really cooked well and the spice and flavors had seeped through it all. Quantities were great. We shared a biryani between two people and still didnt finish it.All in all, really happy with this place and will visit when I come back to Rochester!

2021-08-19I tried out Hyderabad Biryani House today on the recommendation of a friend.I called ahead for a carry out order.I got the Hyderabad Chicken Dum Biryani and asked for it to be prepared spicy. The meal was ready to go when I got there. I paid, and got back on the road. The staff were friendly during our brief interaction.I cannot claim to be an expert on biryani as I did not grow up eating it. It is, however a dish that I am now quite fond of and one that, unfortunately I have not been able to enjoy in quite some time. That said, I was very happy with this dish. The portion size was nicely large and came with a side of raita and container of chili sauce. The rice was soft and fluffy, and not mushy. The chicken was well spiced and very tender. The hard boiled egg was a new variation for me, but it went well with the dish. Star anise pieces and green cardamom pods also played their part in making sure every bite was full of flavor. The chili gravy or sauce is what really kicked this this meal up a notch for me. I spooned just about the whole tub of it out over the biryani as I ate and really enjoyed being able to alternate between the heat and spice of the biryani to the coolness of the raita.I really enjoyed this meal and plan to come back in the future.

2022-03-21This is the best Indian food I ever had, including homemade! The place was also extremely clean and the service was friendly and excellent. We ate here twice in a row because the flavors were so rich and brilliant.
