I had dinner here last week and was looking forward to it. Sadly I must say the food did not meet our expectations (for the most part). The corn was tasty and the empanadas too, we tried the spinach and artichoke. The guacamole can use some work, salt mostly as it just tasted very bland. The house salsa is also a strange consistency and no flavor and the green smoky salsa is nothing but that; pure smoke flavor. Let’s talk about the tacos. We tried the shrimp and mahi tacos and while i understand times are tough right now, the portions were very disappointing. The shrimp tacos consisted of 4 nickel (or smaller) sized baby shrimps that all probably equaled the size of one regular sized shrimp. The fried mahi was no bigger/longer than my thumb. When you taste more tortilla than anything, this doesn’t make for a good taco. I could roll the tortilla 3 times around the contents of the taco (pic does not do it justice). Lastly, just a suggestion, I noticed some unique and crafty drinks on the menu, but not a single margarita. It would be nice to try a specialty margarita. I’m still deciding if I should go back or not, hope this place makes some adjustments. The bartender did offer to make me a guava margarita which I was excited about, but it was not good. :-(However, I will say the service was great. Bartender was very friendly and attentive.
This place is beautiful. Phenomenal atmosphere and food. We waited 40 minutes to have our drink orders taken. And then like 30 more minutes to get our drinks….and even longer to get our food, HOWEVER, when we did receive the food and drink everything was amazing. The restaurant bombarded us with free food on the house which was really redeeming. Everything was really good. My favorite was the lobster empanadas 🤤. Food was cooked right. Everyone got what they ordered. At the end we found out that the comped food was actually supposed to go to another table :-Z …. OH! ANd the live music was so good. That man had natural talent. We love that they had the live music on the patio.
I didn’t know what to expect, loved it. The food, the atmosphere, the company. Loved it all. We are going to sit outside. Unfortunately, it was raining. Would’ve been some great views of the river and bridges. It just means I will have to come back another time to get the full experience. Everyone was so nice and friendly. Loved hearing the background story from Chef Austin and how this restaurant came to be. He seems very genuine and grounded. I only wish for great success for him.I came hungry that day, so I needed to sample a little of everything. I initially ordered the prime rib and shrimp taco. We also ordered pork belly, chipotle chicken, and pork. My absolute favorite was the shrimp taco. Shrimp was cooked perfectly with lots of flavor. I loved the sauce that was on the prime rib. Don’t remember what it was, it just brought out all the flavor of the prime rib. Would have love to try that on the shrimp taco. The Mexican Street corn was an excellent side. I first tried it last summer and have been eating it every chance I get. We also ordered empanadas which were fried perfectly. I don’t remember the name of the drink, but it went down very smooth. I remember her saying it had coconut and some type of cream. I don’t drink very much, but I could easily have had a second. Overall an amazing experience. Looking forward to coming back on a sunny day. Five stars!
Great service, great Margaritas!!We tried the Empanadas. Spinach /Artichoke was delicious.Mexican Corn is enough for 2 people. Very tasty.Next time we will try the tacos.Setting is beautiful right on the Hudson river. Will look forward to a warm night so we can sit out on the patio.
Food was awesome!! We werent expecting to enjoy the food as much as we did. Great experience. We had to wait for an outside table, so we sat at the bar and enjoyed margaritas. Then once we sat at our table the service was quick and the food was so good!! I highly recommend the lobster empanandas. So so good!
Thank you again for your dedication and commitment to making the food truck happen for our children on Friday July 1st. The children LOVED the tacos!!! Everything was delicious. The lettuce was crisp, the tomatoes fresh, the chicken and beef were moist & full of latin flavor! And the nachos....so fresh and crisp. I loved the paprika on them!Liana (manager) did an amazing job of navigating the property with that huge truck/trailer. She reminded me that She used to do work-study here in my kitchen when She was a CIA student about 3.5 years ago. Liana has a Lovely personality and strong work ethic! The team she managed were friendly and worked efficiently. Overall it was a fantastic experience.
THE most tasty Easter Brunch we have ever had!!! Our party was four adults and six teenagers.. every single person had several servings of a variety of meat, seafood, fruits & veggies, cheeses ,breakfast dishes, and desserts. The Paella was AMAZING!! Brunch was tapas style on the bar just as they do in Spain; super cool vibe!! The service was friendly and attentive! The Hudson River was steps away with breathing views from our table! We cannot wait to be back!!!!
The atmosphere here was very pleasant. The brisket empanadas are to die for!😍 Me and my husband ordered a few tacos, the cheap ones ($3 and $4) are too simple for my taste they need like a sauce or something, the most expensive ones are much better but the ribeye steak one cost $8 and just had two tiny little pieces of steak… the dessert was ok and the drinks were very nice! With some adjustments I would definitely go back.
Excellent location. Take a walk along the river before and after a meal. Parking is close and flat unless they are busy, then be prepared to navigate s steep approach. Not a problem for us but the less mobile might find it challenging. Bar scene is hip and diverse. Tacos are decent...not as good as across the estuary at Hudson Taco. We were served outside. Wait staff was friendly but could not keep up with demand from their tables. Drinks were slow to arrive (bar was packed) but the drink specials were innovative and tasty. The crawdad cheese dip appetizer was gloopy and tasted like Velveeta...which I do have a weakness for, but the dish lacked the sophistication I expected for $18. My companions enjoyed the chunky Guac. 3 stars for food, 5 stars for location and view...avg=4.
I had many great lunches at Ice House. Salmon sandwich, calamari etc. The Atmosphere it’s something that you cannot duplicate. Prime real estate. Why serve microwave garbage? My friend wanted to order the burger and was told it would take too long to cook .really? I had a Spinach, artichoke choke stuffed some thing with a whole lot of white stuff . Hold onto your spot! You can’t last long serving this. If you’re seeing. 4 or 5 * ‘s it’s fake.
Was really looking forward to trying this place out but definitely had a bad experience. My girlfriend and I came her around 730 on Sunday. Ordered some tacos and empanadas. The tacos came out in two minutes which was great but they were almost cold and the shell was not cooked at all. half way through the pork belly taco I felt nauseous and my girlfriend felt the same way. The empanadas were okay. The server also threw us off a little bit. She was cleaning a table and asked if we have been helped. She said she would get a server for us. She ended up coming back over and saying I guess Ill take care of you guys. After getting our order in we really didnt see her after that. Had to call over one of the runners to get our check. Definitely was a frustrating night from a place that has a lot of promise because of the location.
I definitely do not recommend this place at all; the food was cold, no flavor, and the empanadas tasted like old oil, the texture like they fried them several times and at the end got burned. I asked the server for some salsa for the tacos, and I got Sriracha sauce. Please, if you are really looking for tacos, look for a different place because this one is not worth it.
I ordered the empanadas, tostones, shrimp taco that were all amazing. They came out hot and fresh. The ambiance inside and out are incredible. The mini fajitas were ok. The tostada left some flavor still wanting. Their fries were good. Our waiter Sarah, was so sweet and efficient. She seemed like she was balancing wayyy too many table at once. Overall a beautiful and nice experience.
Not one to leave a review but this was just not worth it and disappointed in the money spent. Location is great but after getting sick absolutely wouldn’t go back. Hard not to compare to Hudson taco as it’s a complete knock off- I wish it wasn’t because I wouldn’t have compared it. The food was dry and service was far from wow. The food came out in two minutes which normally exciting but would have rather waited for better quality and especially when the runner didn’t know what she was serving and said it out loud which wasn’t reassuring. When we were greeted the server said I guess I’m taking your table which was off putting from the beginning and when she realized we were leaving after being there for a total 20 minutes from start to finish she avoided our table. Didn’t complain because felt awful but definitely not going back to this one.
We came here for my friends birthday. Had a reservation for 7 we were here all on time. We didn’t even have our drink order taken until about 7:40. After the drink order was taken we didn’t get them for like another 30+ minuets. Food came out randomly in ‘family style’ which was chaotic. We had to figure out who had what when there was like 10 tacos on one plate? The food was cold and tasted weird. Our one friend never got his meal, when asked where it was we found out it was never coming. By far the worst experience ever. We made it very clear we were unhappy and we’re not offered anything for the horrible experience other than ‘sorry we are so busy’. They were not busy. DON’t COME HERE.
Yikes. This place is unfortunate, especially in comparison to its sister restaurant, Flores Tapas. The latter is a fabulous experience no matter when you go, and that includes opening night. The same cant be said about Taqueria. First time we went it was a mess. Opening night at Taqueria felt like we were being played...spent 3 total hours there and after finally getting our tacos grease poured out enough to turn our plates into swimming pools. They were inedible. Service was the most chaotic scene Ive maybe ever experienced dining out. Our server by the end of the night forgot we were even her table. We ended up getting the meal comped by a pleasant and understanding manager but man that is not how you make a first impression. We decided to give it a second chance many months later and things went a lot better. All our food was hot and fresh including the tacos. Things tasted pretty good overall and service was speedy. Among the highlights were the street corn and empanadas. The tacos, unfortunately, are nothing to write home about. Fine, yes, but with obvious comparisons to the far superior Hudson Taco across the river (and obvious imitation of said place), the food didnt really hold up. On the plus side drinks were pretty good.Because we had a pleasant experience our second time around, we decided to go again when our friend was in town. She had tried Tapas already and enjoyed it, so we figured it would be fitting for her to try Taqueria. It was a mistake. We were actually really embarrassed having taken her there because this experience was so similar to our first one. The service was fine but the food was really quite bad. She ordered ceviche and actually stopped eating after just a couple of bites. Tacos were lukewarm and once again suffered from the grease issue. Also largely inedible due to the density of liquid weighing down the poor things. Drinks this time were also underwhelming, with a couple of us questioning if alcohol was even added. We mostly felt a bit queasy after our meal this time.Bottom line is, this place doesnt have their **** together. It appears they have closed for the time being, maybe due to that realization becoming increasingly more salient. Regardless, if you have an opportunity to go here, I would unfortunately say dont. That doesnt mean you should stray from all things Flores, however; their Tapas bar is fabulous an absolutely worth as many trips as your car and wallet will allow.
Very frustrating experience for us. We had to wait at the counter about 30min to be seated while the restaurant was not even half full and my wife is about 7month pregnant. After asking again to be seated, we were asked to pay at the bar. We had to carry our plates from the bar to the table. We were not offered water at any time, we had to ask for it, and we apparently paid full price for a mocktail… we will not come back!
Very upset about my experiences. 1st we were a party of 5 on our lunch hour and 3 peoples food came out. My tacos came out after they were done eating and the last order was a poke bowl they also came out after I was done eating and she needed to take it with her since our hour was up. The drinks we ordered for $12.00 was not worth it. It was pink water.
Do not go here. My party was denied service and asked to leave for having a service dog at the Flores Taqueria location in Poughkeepsie. Even after informing them that denying us service was against the ADA, they told us it was not their decision but the owner’s order. They then added that the restaurant was in a city building- as if this would excuse them blatant breaking the law. I told them that was illegal. (The dog in question was completely calm, quiet, and obedient, as such a trained animal should be. Thus not giving any cause for dismissal.) “You can sit outside”, we were told. It was 40+ degrees, overcast, and by the water. Stunned and disgusted, we asked for the owner’s name and took our business elsewhere. Please keep this in mind when you decide where to dine and spend your hard earned money. They are disgusting ableist with no regard for the law nor concern for the special - legally protected!! - needs of their patrons.
Went here for the first time on 02/06/22 and I hope to return next time Im in poughkeepsie. The staff is so friendly, they play great music and the food is not overly priced. I had the pork taco they are so Delicious and addictive, so just order 4 or 5. I had the hot lips drink because I never heard of it and because it has jalapeños in itIt was shockingly good, Kim made it mildly spicy for me.
Definitely will be going back to this restaurant ! We ordered a variety of foods to get the full experience. For starters, the guac was delicious. The spinach and artichoke empanadas were fantastic! We also tried the burger , which was perfectly cooked and flavorful. Our waitress was pleasant , and the decor and atmosphere was upscale and enjoyable. We still had a nice view of the river and bridge from our window seating, since it was a little chilly outside. The drink special was super tasty, and they didn’t skimp on the alcohol !
Their drinks are delicious and unique. The tacos were okay they would have been better if they came out warm or the tray was warm under them to keep them warm because ours were really cold. My husband and I thought our tacos would taste better if the tortillas were at least warm. Also I had the pork tacos and it was really bland it was missing something. It only had cilantro and onions on it and it was cold so it didnt taste good. The tastiest thing we had was the Mexican street corn Id go back just for the mix drinks and the street corn.
Beautiful location, staff was friendly and accommodating. Sadly the food was mediocre. The fish taco was overcooked and tough, the pork belly was dry, the chicken was dry and overcooked and too and the brisket and cheese empanadas had little seasoning. We wished we had salsa or hot sauce to give it some flavor, but none was provided. We loved the location so much we really hoped to enjoy it more, but the chef needs to bump up seasoning across the bulk of the menu. Hope to try it again in a couple months once the kinks are worked out and revise this review!
This place is amazing- the renovation is stunning. The food is absolutely delicious and you can tell their staff is working really hard to provide excellent service as they go through the growing stages and struggles of opening a huge restaurant. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. The drinks are fantastic. The management is awesome and have their kids in with them all the time, which is so cool. Love being able to support local family businesses during this crazy time- it’s so important!!
Waitress Jenna super friendly and very quick to help. food was awesome. Wear a jacket if sitting near the door. When it opens u get a blast of cold. Either way loved it. Glad they did the drink token promo when we came off the boat a month back. This gave me a reason to try something new.
Beautiful location on the Hudson River and views of the bridge made dining there a wonderful experience. The food and drinks were excellent and well presented, with lots of choices on the menu. The staff was friendly and attentive. I will absolutely be going back and highly recommend.
We visited the restaurant last Friday night and Im sorry to say it was a very bad experience. It was raining out so there was nobody seated outside and the restaurant wasnt full inside (it was relatively busy). The server seemed very new and inexperienced but polite to start. My wife had some questions about the menu that the server couldnt answer. This is understandable but he did not offer to find out the answers to her questions which later lead to her ordering a scallop taco that turned out to be breaded and she cannot eat gluten). After waiting well over an hour for drinks we questioned the waiter and his answer was that their bartender likes to take his time. It took at least another 20+ mins to get the drinks and in that time frame we spoke to a very unapologetic manager. One of these drinks was a can of beer btw. At the end of the day I watched at least 4 other tables walk out (which I would have done if we werent with another couple). The food ended up coming out very piecemeal and the majority of it was underwhelming to bad except for a few exceptions. The lobster taco was fantastic. The rib eye taco was very good as was the pork belly taco. At the end of all of this no concessions were offered and we were charged $3 for extra tortilla chips which felt very unsavory after the overall experience.
Let me start out by sharing that I am a vegetarian and it is sometimes difficult to go to restaurants and order vegetarian foods that arent just sides or a salad. Not only was the atmosphere beautiful but the food and drinks were amazing!!! We ordered a bunch of things just to try them. The artichoke and spinach empanadas, the Mexican street corn (which is addicting!!!) the fried plantains, and the house salad. It was all delicious. My mixed drink was delicious and theyare not cheap on the alcohol ;) The staff was friendly and accommodating. Cant wait to goback and try the portobello mushroom tacos!!! Ive heard that they are yummy!!!
Visited tonight looking forward to the delicious food and drinks I had read about on some reviews and a article online about the new restaurant. Unfortunately I didn’t stay to enjoy any of it. Arrived early for our reservation, ordered some drinks and the wait began. Another couple was seated next to us about 10 minutes later. As we waited they received their drinks, and then their guac and chips, at this point still nothing for us. After an hour of waiting the waiter came over acted surprised and said “you don’t have any drinks?“ At that point our patience was no more and we kindly let the waiter know to cancel our order, he just shrugged and said “okay” no apology, no nothing. I know it’s a difficult time for businesses everywhere, but please try and do better.
Restaurant is beautifully designed. The empanadas were amazing....we ordered the beef and also the spinach and artichoke ones.Street corn is sooooo delicious , I could eat that every day and not get tired of it !!I dont eat meat , so I also ordered the Salad option . It was delicious . Will be returning for sure !!!
Was there for a reservation on Friday evening. We waited 45 minutes after being seated and no one approached us. Finally we went inside and asked if anyone would come take our order. A waitress was pulled from another zone to take our order, she ended up taking it 3 times because she didnt bring anything to write with the first two times. We saw it was busy so politely asked what they thought the wait time for food might be. She says maybe half an hour. I was skeptical bc half an hour is on a good day. At one point someone, they never introduced themselves as host, manager, no idea, came over to ask how everything was. We were extremely polite as I know how busy the food industry is. She was surprised we didnt get our drinks and said shed check on it right away. She never followed up with us. Some 20 min later 1 appetizer and 1 drink came out. My hubby draft beer did not. At this point we were just done. Paid what he had received and politely cancelled the rest.Owning your difficulties and mistakes goes a long long way towards having a good relationship with your clients. I would absolutely think differently if someone had simply said, listen were super busy, its a long wait, are you still comfortable staying. Yes maybe you lose me that night but Id be willing to come back. No one ever explained, apologized or tried to legitimately fix the situation. We never even received water without going inside to find someone and ask. This is absolutely not how you run a restaurant.
Management and service seem disintegrated as of our visit Fri. 10/15, despite reservations. Our food was actually good but was served item by item and waiters kept approaching us with small dishes of food did you order ....? randomly. Then our drinks arrived after more than an hour after ordering.
The bartender was rude when I got there and I asked him where could I pick up my order he act like I had three heads I did not get any plastic fork or napkins and the cashier said he did not have any change what was all that about hello won’t be going back this was on Friday, 17 June

2022-04-22Have heard good things about this place for a while, was very excited to try it out. Was very pleased with all of the food we ordered. We sampled a lot of tacos, and liked them all. You cant go wrong with any of the taco selections available. We also had their fries sweet plantains and their smashed plantains, both were very delicious. Their empanadas were not very traditional, but exceptional in creativity and flavor, worth ordering! The one appetizer that was not too exciting was the ceviche. It was lacking some flavor and did not come together too well, this may just be my take on it. Will definitely return and have many tacos and apps!

2022-05-30Fantastic location for outdoor dining on a nice day. The food was quite good and the service was excellent. I appreciate that they limited the tables to the number that they could serve at a reasonable pace. Staffing is a problem but they are handling it well. Prices are reasonable. Ill be back.

2022-07-17We spotted the red umbrellas while on the walking bridge and the patio looked interesting and right on the river. The staff was very friendly and we sat on the patio under nice shade trees enjoying the view. Tacos were very good. Great Guacamole and chips and cold drinks they even brought a few bowls of water for our dog who was very appreciative. Glad we stopped in we had a great experience and very relaxing after round trip over the bridge. Will definitely stop in again when in the neighborhood .

2022-07-04Found this little beach front tapas spot on the Hudson and boy was it a good find. Talk about a hidden gem. The food was great and the people friendly. But best of all was the views. Breath taking. Ill be back.

2022-07-13Perfect spot during summer for a quick bite and a refreshing drink. It was a hot day and we sat indoors. It’s super cozy and beautifully decorated. We wanted to try the churros ……. so we ordered it with a iced latte. We can’t wait to go back and try the food on a nice summer day on the patio overlooking walkway on one side and Mid Hudson bridge on the other. The waitress was super kind ….. she offered me a ice latte to go and I was simply touched by her hospitality. I told her no but that lil sweet gesture wants me to go back and have another meal. Speaks a lot about the customer appreciation. If you are in the area, please stop by here for a quick bite or an entire meal. The place and food both are outstanding.

2022-04-08Another Fantastic event here in Huson Valley. The setup is right on the water with beautiful views.Actually the first dinner arrived which was a shrimp taco and the mahi taco. The mahi was good and the shrimp was ok. I had to wait another 20 minutes for mine. That’s one of my pet peeves….. serve everyone together! Two of my four came and as you can see by the picture it’s a bit lonely and ready for a new tortilla! Blah would be a good word. I added a bunch of guac and it was ok. The guac…. was needing some help too. Salt mostly to bring out the flavor. My last two tacos finally arrive… the chicken and steak. Both were ok. The sad part is the bowl of street corn was the highlight of the food. It was great.Overall the atmosphere was awesome. Yelp throws great event!!

Waterfront seating in season which overlooks the Hudson River. In January 2022 Dutchess Countys chapter of Moms for Liberty convened here.

2022-08-095 Stars because the bartender made the experience grrreat. She was awesome, great suggestions too. I will say personally I love the diverse palate of tacos and different options. Food didn’t take too long either, mostly we’re here for drinks and tacos. If you’re walking along the waterfront give it a try
