I love this bar! My favorite place in Astoria by far. The drinks are big (and strong) and the music & atmosphere are always on point. The staff is amazing, especially the bartender, Skip - he rocks!! :D
My favorite place to be around people. It’s an unpretentious bar with great entertainment and a nice space to dance the night away. Great music (on the top 40s side) and Djs. Very friendly staff (love Pedro, Skip, Dakotah, Stephen and Danny). And strong fair-priced drinks. Can’t wait until I can dance the nights away in here again.
I went to ICON, and it’s the perfect place to go and spend a really good time with friends or even yourself. The bartender Pedro it was amazing, his customer service and treatment is incredibly, always paying attention to every single detail with every single customer. I honestly recommend this place 100%. If you come to NYC is the place to go, ask for Pedro and you will have the best experience ever.
First time here was amazing, this place is one of my favorite bars. The employees are super friendly and they’re able to recommend the best drinks and I was highly impressed. I will come back again to try more!
This bar is my go to spot for a casual drink. The service is always great! Pedro always makes sure you’re taken care of from the moment you sit down. Even with outdoor seating, he ensures he is attentive. Great service!
The venue and event is great, but they do not list the price of anything on the menu and could not provide a list of item on the receipt so we do not know the price of each item we ordered. They do not have the patient and time for us to ask them how much each item is plus it is hard to talk with the music so we just left without knowing how much each person should pay. It is very inconvenience I don’t understand why wouldn’t they write the price of the menu.
We always have a great time at ICON !!The Halloween and Christmas decoration were amazing! We love to go and spend Sundays fundays with Pedro, he’s such a sweetheart and a kind bartender. We will be back for sure..!!
Came to have a drink on Monday hoping to listen to some music. But it was a drag show,, all rhey did was talk between the two “performers” and make “jokes” no one understood. Also, made fun of costumers who left because they were just plain boring!
Alan and Avant Garbage make the atmosphere. Theyre very hospitable and entertaining. Highly recommend. Especially on Saturdays when theyre both here.

Went to Icon Bar I don’t leave Manhattan much and was very surprised on how great the bar was the music was fun the place wasn’t busy but everybody seem to be having a good time, thanks to the Bartender Pedro who made our evening very memorable. I can’t wait to go back again I hope on a note that Pedro is working and bring a few friends.

I went to Icon Bar for the first time today along with many friends that I have invited to come out with me. The bartender (Dakota) was extremely pleasant, professional and helpful. I received many, many comments from my friends on how great the the atmosphere and most importantly Dakotas service was. Dakota was fun, attentive, and everyone had a great time thanks to his great service. Would definitely recommend! !! I would recommend this bar to anyone and would come again in an instant!!!! Their drinks are really good and are made at your convenience. They offered me, and my friends a lot of alcohol based suggestions that helped us select the best choices. The whole experience with Icon bar and Dakota was phenomenal!Dakota added to the quality of my night with my friends!This service was exactly what we needed for our night out.

Bar was not crowded when we arrived a little after 8 PM on Saturday, but it got crowded shortly afterwards. The bartender was very friendly and funny. Drinks are good. Music is fun - videos when we arrived and then later there was a DJ. This is a great small gay bar in Astoria Queens. No attitude. Wish there were more like this. We will return next time we are in the neighborhood.

I always have a great time at Icon! A big part of that is Skip! Skip is not only warm and welcoming but also on top of everything. You can tell not only does he make sure everyone’s having a good time but that they feel safe too. ❤️

Icon is a fantastic bar. One of the few all inclusive LGBTQ bars in NYC. Every night there’s always a show going on hosted by some very talended drag queens. For the Astoria residents, it’s a great getaway on the weekends for those that don’t want to commute to Manhattan.The new owners (who bought this bar about a year ago) have made awesome changes to the bar.Bartenders are friendly and welcoming - Dakotah and Cody are AWESOME.Dancing on the weekends with awesome DJs.What I love most about this place is there is a variety of guys that come through, so there’s always somebody for someone.Definitely worth a trip on a Friday and Saturday night.

The DJ is so rude!!! There’s kid who are not even 21. The DJ don’t even care about what you say to him. He just says to you how long how you been here? Like really? Who says that? No wonder they don’t do well. They just need a better DJ and a better security door man...
Bar tender refused to serve tap water to me last night. I was buying 2 cocktails, and wanted water to stay hydrated. This may be legal, but it is irresponsible, and rude in my opinion.

Disappointed that the bartender didnt know if it was cash only or not and made me get cash only to find out they take card so total cost of two drinks with atm fees $28 not worth it. Sad liked this place back in the day.

2022-05-16This is the BEST and first lgbt friendly bar I’ve been to, and I’m so happy I went! Alex was hosting a Queer Babes meetup and I made about 10 friends! I hope we can all do this again in the future! Amazing atmosphere and great music!

2022-05-17This review is for Alex and Skip’s Ladies and Gentlethemmes event held on Sunday 5/15/22 from 2-6 PM.These two are event planning professionals and pioneers, who are carving a space for folks that is much desired, much loved, and much needed. They successfully created a fun loving, safe, warm, mindful and inclusive space for queer women and non-binary folks to have some fun and connect with each other! Although the event took place at Icon, a lovely bar, Alex and Skip took care in catering to folks who don’t drink alcohol as well, with their list of carefully curated mocktails and games that provided engaging activities beyond consuming alcohol.Furthermore, the timing of the event was excellent, taking advantage of usually quieter hours at a bar, Sunday at 2 PM and ending early, around 6 PM which is great for the working professional or student.I would love to attend more events hosted by Alex and Skip. They know how to cater to the lgbtq+ community really, really well! 🧡

2022-01-16Ive been here multiple times already and I just have to say its an incredibly welcoming environment. Saturdays especially when Avant Garbage is here. The bartenders are also as friendly as they are handsome. Filup, Marcelo, Alan, Danny, all of them. Highly recommend.
