This is my 5th lease in the last 12+ years! I cant say enough good things about the entire experience! Spencer was really easy to talk to and deal with. He is more of a Customer Advocate than a Sales Guy. You will not be disappointed with Spencer and/or the entire staff here!!
This business is very unprofessional, they didn’t even know they had my paperwork as I have been constantly calling them for about a week. All of the dealers here have been randomly off and haven’t had any form of contact with me. This business needs a better owner or someone in charge of their facility. The dealers barely have any knowledge about their assessment on their veichle. It’s very frustrating trying to find a car with a dealership that won’t work with you.
My son and I had been looking for a reliable, affordable vehicle for him for a few months. I came across a 2015 VW Jetta and sent an inquiry. I received a prompt response from Kiersten letting me know it was available and we set up an appointment for later that day. We met with Kiersten, test drove the vehicle and made the purchase. She answered all of my questions and we walked away knowing we made the right decision. It was such an easy process from start to finish!
Kiersten offered the best sales experience weve ever had when buying our 2021 Atlas. We had a chance to visit a few other dealers in the area and test drove other 3-row SUVs to make sure we were purchasing the right car for our family, and at other dealers there was always something a bit off-putting by the salespeople, whether it was a pushy or over-the-top demeanor, or just an absolute lack of concern, almost like they didnt expect us to buy the vehicle (which, to be fair, they were right).Kiersten was the exact opposite of pushy, and she felt genuinely interested in getting us in the right car, with the right details and trim, for the right price. It turned out she had the exact car we were looking for, and we couldnt be happier with our decision. We would absolutely shop with Kiersten again, and we will absolutely recommend her to friends and family. Thank you Kiersten!
Beware!I took my car for my annual inspection and they told me it failed due to the condition of the rear brakes. This was surprising since I had my brakes checked out by my local mechanic several months before and he replaced the front brakes and said the rear brakes were fine. Well I took the car back to my mechanic and he said the brakes were fine and they had plenty of life left in them. When I called Volkswagen about this I received what I can only describe as a song and dance about different mechanics having different standards. Beware!
I stopped in to get a trade-in appraisal with the intent of shopping for a newer vehicle. It felt like they were completely uninterested in doing business once the appraisal came back. With all the good reviews of the sales team here, maybe I need to come back when those people are working.
I bought a 2017 GTI from IDE and could not have been more happy. Sales was great and all my encounters with service after the purchase were great! I had such a good experience with the dealership I traded my 2017 GTI for a 2019 GTI. I continued to be treated like my business was valued and was always able to get my cars service completed like it was their own! Based on all my great experiences, I have added a new 2021 Cross Sport to the house and could not be more happy! I strongly recommend IDE VW to everyone!!
I came for an inspection and was failed and told to spend $487 on new brakes. I’ve had my car about a year with primarily highway driving and never experienced any tell-tale signs of needing new brakes. It seemed very suspicious. I took my car to a brake specialist who took one look, got a colleague for a second opinion, and both told me my dealer was trying to pull one over on me and my brakes were fine. I took my car to a valvoline and passed inspection with no problem. I always told everyone how much I trusted my dealer and now I’m embarrassed for ever sticking up for them. I’ll never take my car back again. I’m not some dumb young woman to take advantage of.
Had my 2014 Jetta in for a problem with the heat. I was told it was coolant gelling in the evaporator. 63k miles, and I was told the warranty wouldn’t cover it because there was no leak. Coolant deteriorated due to age. No way, not after telling them I can smell coolant. No way was the cooling system checked from start to finish. All the cars I’ve ever had have gone over 100k miles and NEVER had any coolant issues. Next time (there will never be one for me with Ide) check the system from start to finish. Oh yeah, and at 58k miles, had to have the intake cam shaft replaced because of a timing chain issue. Timing chain runs the water pump, right? Don’t go to Ide, avoid VW. This is my second VW, nothing but problems.
This is my first car experience with the Ide family of dealerships. It was simply fabulous: working with David, there was absolutely zero pressure. He listened to our circumstances, and clearly wanted to find a solution rather than adopt a dismissive attitude, which other dealerships did that day (Ide was the first stop). We went back LATER that same day and made the deal. The whole experience front to back was simply very enjoyable and stress free. This was Saturday before Labor Day: I took delivery Tuesday. Fast, accurate and efficient. I recommend working with David; I recommend Ide Volkswagen.
Called Ide to see if I could get Ad Blue topped off with the Express Service for our VW diesel. They said no I had to make an appointment. Later when I asked about it I was told that it IS an express service. Woman who took care of me in service dept. told me when I arrived for the appointment that the service would be $35. plus tax. I had been told on the phone that the service was $25. This has happened numerous times at this dealership. I get misinformation, no one ever ever apologizes and they get impatient if you ask too many questions. Ive never left a review like this before and am reluctant to do so now. A little afraid of retaliation. Im really disappointed with this dealership as we have had many great experiences with service at other dealerships when we travel and at home in Rochester.
Sales process went very well. Christian was great to work with. I bought a 2019 and it was a good experience, until it starting having issue after issue. I never brought the car to Ide for service as i moved away, however i did leave a number of messages for the service department that were never returned. Not their fault that the car has been borderline terrible, but service could be improved.
I called today to ask to have my car looked at their service department. I have a vw passant. I am putting it on the road . It has a lot of lights on. Considering I have never owned one maybe the dealership was the smartest option to find out whats really wrong. I did not buy my car from this business. I explained my lights on and the few problems I could. His answer was 128 dollars per problem. So I am being informed of 200 plus just to walk in your door? I asked why are your price gauging during a pandemic sir? Sorry I was blunt. He answred are you done insulting me and want to schedule an appointment?.Thats insulting and horrible customer service. To the service man... your a super hero. Every day you save lives by fixing vehicles. Why then do you act like such a villain? I was given this by my ex a mechanic. Guess even at dealerships mechanics cant be trusted to be kind.
I had used IDE VW to service my GTI with great results in the past. Since it was time for a new car I decided to try IDE. In a nutshell I am super happy. Kiersten Herman was great to work with. No hassles, no upselling and very knowledgeable about the product. I am pleased with my new Arteon and the buying experience was really good.
Drove 1.5 hours to look at a used car with a clean Carfax report, only to see as plain as day, that it had been hit in the front. Paint didnt match, suspension noises when turning, overspray in the engine bay, etc. Brought it to the salemans attention, who said well we use a body shop that does a pretty good job at painting and repairs.....really??? No thanks!!! I cannot recommend this dealership. Way too shady.
Quoted me a price on the phone and nothing changed when I got there. Joe Preteroti, my Salesman, was very helpful snd easy to work with. He gave me the best deal of the 3 dealers I visited. Spencer Clark described all the features in the car with great detail. The whole experience was well worth the drive from Canandaigua.
Overall a great buying experience. Spencer was a professional salesman that went out of his way to make sure I was helped. My car wasnt ready at first so they gave me a loaner for the duration. Be careful if you have sensitive ears though, the showroom echos when people speak above a certain volume, which hurt my ears.
Super friendly and accommodating sales team. Sales Manager Joe Preteroti took the time during the craziness of the month of April 2020 to respond to my multiple phone calls and graciously gave me the chance to test drive 3 different vehicles before finally deciding on the best one for me. I think he worked every day for 3 weeks straight! I love my Tiguan!
I purchased a 12 Touareg TDI through auction and truck showed up with a bunch of unannounced issues. I brought it to IDE and was treated amazing, as if I bought the car from them. The shop was busy and they still snuck me in in an appropriate amount of time. Pricing, customer service and the quality of the work is next to nothing. Great job on all fronts. I will be coming back to IDE. Thanks, Bill, Maya, Makenzie and Mike.
This is our 4th Volkswagen so we went into this knowing what we wanted. We found one on the website and took a drive out to look at it. We worked with David and took a quick test drive just to make our final decision. David was an absolute pleasure to work with (along with the finance department as well) and I would recommend him to anyone looking for a Volkswagen. He made the process quick and stress free. He kept me updated with text messages as well as e-mails while I was at work. If you take a minute to read his reviews you will notice that there is not one bad one on here, that says a lot. Thank you, David and IDE for a great car buying experience!
Traveled out to Rochester from Syracuse to check out their TDI cars they had in stock. Had what I wanted and let me test drive a few. Showroom is very nice and everyone I met was friendly. I had Spencer as a salesman, great guy. Showed me the ones I found online and had the keys ready for me. Decided on a higher mileage TDI but its a diesel so they go forever with proper maintenance. Finished the deal with him on Monday, after I put a small deposit down on it to hold. They detailed my new TDI inside and out and I left the dealership with a smile both days.10/10 would recommend IDE and Spencer the salesman. Wish I lived closer, I would have all my work done here on my VW.
Have to say I like the service here. You pull the car inside through the garage door, and it shuts behind you, nice and clean floor etc. Service managers always there, and helpful. Work has always been good. They did the tdi diesel update on my golf, which went perfectly. I would probably buy another car at Ide. (Golf R)
This is our second car lease with David Ruzhansky, and we will never go anywhere else! David made the process unbelievably easy, fast and with absolutely no pressure. He is knowledgeable, honest and very attentive to our needs. Everyone else at the dealership is also great and pleasant to deal with. Overall, a great experience!
Went there to buy a used car and see about trading in my old one. Without even looking up the value, and having never seen it, they would only offer me $1k. I was incredibly honest and up front about my financial situation, what I could afford, and what I needed. The salesman kept asking the same questions over and over or making suggestions that prompted me to repeat myself over and over. When going over the figures, he continued to repeat information that I already expressed I understood,. I, too, work with liens, etc. then he did he let me run it to the manager thing, except when he came back, the down payment was even higher, even without running my credit or calculating different term types or anything. It was clear his agenda was to sell me a new car, not an old one, and he wouldn’t even discuss leasing with me. Then he ran to the manager again and came back with the same info he’d just given us, not the figures on the new car like he was supposed to do. Completely wasted time. Didn’t listen to anything I said, and kept repeating stereotypical car salesman phrases.I’d give zero stars, but that’s not an option.
I bought a *used* car from here a week ago, after shopping around at several different dealers. Ide was the most positive experience I had with purchasing a vehicle, everything was very easy, straight forward, professional and had a valid explanations behind everything involving the car, its condition etc! I was working with David and I definately would buy from them again!
This was my first experience buying a new car and Ide VW made it so easy for me. Every person I came in contact with was friendly and quick to offer any help I may need. Antonio was patient, knowledgable and exemplified top-notch customer service. This was my first time buying a car, and I never once felt overwhelmed. He made a potentially stressful situation a lot of fun. Would recommend this dealership & Antonios service to anyone!
Steve was extremely helpful. I was not sure which VW model I wanted and he very patiently explained the qualities of each vehicle. It was a cold and snowy evening and he made sure I was able to test drive as many vehicles as I need to to make a decision. The entire lease process went smoothly and quickly. In 12 hours, I was able to drive my new Golf home. Thank you!
I just bought my first new car a few weeks ago. I thought that shopping for a new car would be stressful but my salesman, Steve was great! He helped me find exactly what I wanted and for a price I could afford. I dealt with a couple of other dealerships and had some bad experiences. I would definitely recommend Dick Ide to anyone searching for a car. Great people, Very helpful and honest, and Great prices! Im very happy with my new car and experience with Steve at Dick Ide Volkswagen!
I work 5 min from another vw dealer and still drive the extra to come here when my car needs service. The service staff is wonderful and when Ive gotten quotes theyve always been accurate. Ive told all of my VW friends to skip the other guys and head here. They treat me better as a person and the prices have always been better when I shopped around for quotes. Theyve also invested a lot in upgrading the facility over the past 2 years. The waiting room has several different areas so you can find a spot that suits you near the TV or in a quieter spot to do some work. They have a vending machine and lots of free coffee and tea options. They are good with updates on progress and time to completion as well.
Another AMAZING experience with the service team at Ide VW! Jim and his team went above and beyond today to make my day nice n easy. Oil change was quick and they shuttled me back and forth from work without me missing any time at office...this is a great team to have on my side - I love you guys and gals at Ide!
After just four days Im very happy with my car, a 2017 GTI SE thats Certified Pre Owned with only 9400 miles. I am not impressed with the purchasing experience or with the customer service attitude it demonstrated. I tried Ide, somewhat reluctantly, after a negative experience with a salesperson 3 years prior. Spoke to the Sales Manager and discovered they had a car that was ideal for my needs. We made arrangements for me to buy the car with financing from my Credit Union. After we made the deal I discovered, online, that VW Credit was offering a special rate (1.99%), for CPO cars, that was much lower than the 4.20% offered by the Credit Union, that he and I had discussed. My contact never mentioned the promotion. When I called back he claimed to have explored it and that I qualified for a slightly higher rate. My clear impression is that he would not have mentioned this if I hadnt turned up the information. Id asked twice for the car to be delivered with Monster Mats, for which I would happily have paid; it came with carpet mats; I ordered the others online. When I was about to leave, after picking up the car, I discovered that the Owners Manual was missing. The salespersons response was that theyd have to order one. I expressed a serious concern about driving away in a complex new car with no manual and, eventually, they took one from a new car. When I arrived home I discovered that the cover for the luggage area was missing. I called and Ide offered a prompt replacement. When I picked up the cover and asked why a CPO car could be sent out without a manual or luggage cover the response I got was Those things arent on the checklist.. These multiple issues raise some real concerns about professionalism and attention-to-detail. Well see how the service experience works out.
I have visited Volkswagen multiple times about a Jetta GLI I am very interested in buying. It was a horrible experience. Sales guy tried to take advantage of the fact that I am a young female, assuming I dont know anything about cars. Quoted me an outrageous amount for leasing this vehicle. Magically somehow they were able to come down a bit on the price but not enough for me to sign a paper. They have called me once since my visit and I explained the situation and gave them a price I am willing to pay. They are complete liars with the price and are just trying to scam you. Fortunately, I did my research before stepping foot in this dealership and did not fall for it. He has yet to call me back to compromise the price, which means I will be taking my business elsewhere. Congratulations Ide Volkswagen, you just lost a customer.
Cheap not honest . after you buy car they dont know what dose warranty means . dont trust them my vw get rust and broken right and left they always find excuse not to fix it by warranty . i paid from my valet and driving on rust car with 12 years rust warranty protections and oil leak engine. horrible service department . dont buy IDE VW buy something else.
I will never be buying another car from Ide again. I purchased a used VW GTI in December and picked it up in January, giving them plenty of time to look over the car before I drove it off. When I got home (3 hour drive) I had a missing brake sensor, heavily worn brake pads, a snapped sway bar, broken end links, broken rear vents, a headlight failure, and a TPMS light. They obviously just cleared all of the codes and sold it, not caring at all. I had to fight tooth and nail to get that repaired which included contacting Mr. Ide. Since then I have had a transmission failure and am unable to pass inspection because they sold the car with illegal window tint. They broke the law by putting a passing inspection sticker on the vehicle. The salesman, Nick, gives run around answers and refuses to acknowledge the safety concerns he allowed to be overlooked. I will be updating this review with pictures as well. Save the headache and buy elsewhere. They will not help if anything fails.
Absolutely stunning facility. Beautiful inside and out. All white, alot of glass, for great lighting. Staff and sales people were really accommodating. Had a chance to talk with the owners, Rich and Stephanie. Very nice in person. Worked with Juan Gonzalez and he was very helpful. I have to say, one of the sweetest features by far. The service bay is enclosed, you can simply pull your car in, and get service from the folks there. Out of the elements no matter the weather, nice touch.
A positive experience from the test drive to completing the transaction. When I arrived for the test drive, the salesman made sure the cars were nice and warm and ready to go, and offered me a cup of coffee (which was delicious). Not just the salesman, but the whole sales floor made sure I felt at home. Definitely a place I would be repeat customer and reccommend to others.
My wife purchased a vw beetle from David and we could not be happier. He first made us comfortable since it has been a long time since we made a car purchase. He showed us the car she had picked out and it was love at first sight. David did not push us, as a matter of fact I was impressed at the time he took. If I was to buy another VW David would have to be my salesperson. All and all a very positive experience.
After some initial glitches, my interaction with the service department went on flawlessly. Michael, the service manager made sure that all problems were addressed and after a longer than expected stay at the shop, my GTI was returned performing as it was supposed to.It took a while until the problem was pinpointed to the ECM which then was replaced under warranty.Thank you for making sure that I was leaving the dealership a satisfied customer.
We brought our vehicle here for a look over before it came off warranty. The car charger wasn’t working and there was a thumping noise coming from the tire. They never explained to me what condition our brakes were in, I don’t even think they did a check over on the vehicle. They told my girlfriend that the thumping noise was coming from the wear bars, and that the fuse was blown. She declined the tires and they tried to charge use $20 to put a fuse in. I got on the phone with he service writer and told him not to put the fuse in, he said fine and hung up on me. Then he spoke to my girlfriend and told her “hope you boyfriend has a good time trying to figure out what fuse it is” so as I am a mechanic and can read a simple owners manual I am sure this will not be an issue, but the unprofessional manner in this man acted in will now get his dealership negative reviews, not to mention we will not be buying the vehicle off of lease and will never recommend Volkswagen to anyone.
The experience here was SO different than Dorschel, Antonio was a DREAM. I started looking for a vehicle months ago and I talked to 3 people at Dorschel and they all gave me the run around on prices for a car and they were all very OVERPRICED. Ive leased 2 Tiguans before getting my third, and my husband used to sell cars, so I had an idea on what the price should be. After getting mad at Dorschel for being sketchy and playing i can do this for you..and this.. I came to Ide to get a second quote and the very FIRST price I got was very reasonable and much lower for a BETTER CAR!!! (SE vs. and S) I honestly couldnt believe it and thought something would change when I went to pick up the car today, but nope, Antonio was true to his word and got me in a better car, with a VW onesie and bib for my baby, without any hassle/games and only AMAZING customer service. I dont think Ill even waste my time when this lease is up and try to get a quote from Dorshel, I honestly cant believe my experience there, Im still peeved and a little hurt that they could be so deceptive when I bought my last Tiguan there and go there for all my service. Oh well, Im a very happy camper today, just not looking forward to putting my carseat in the new car....
The moment we met our salesman, Antonio Gonzalez, we felt comfortable. There was no HIGH sales pitch, he listened to us and our wants and went overboard to satisfy our needs. After taking possession he explained the features of the vehicle did not just send us on our way. He was an absolute pleasure doing busness with and all associates.
David knows his stuff about all VWs inside and out. Hes also up front about pricing and what incentives and financing are available for the best deal. He is on the ball, and will give you the best service possible! Highly recommend him, and Dick IDE VW! David was pleasant nice to deal with no pressure sent email reminders and went through car with me after purchase. He also offered to have us come back anytime with any questions or for assistance pairing our phones with the car.He was very professional throughout the whole process and I never felt like there was anything to worry about, which is a refreshing change compared to other dealerships I have dealt with previously.
Terrible service. Go to Dorshel.. Dorschel doesn’t charge for inspections with your regular maintenance. They give car washes. They don’t park your car in a foot of snow for you to walk to. They tell you if you have recalls in advance so you know it’ll be a longer wait so you can plan.. I can’t believe when ide took this place over they didn’t improve the service from Vincent.. I only gave 2 stars bc the waiting room isn’t terrible and they have some free snacks.
It was a fantastic experience. Car buying can be stressful but Nick at IDE made things very simple and easy for us. Nick was very courteous, explained things in details about the car without rushing. We would definitely recommend both IDE and Nick if you are up for a Volkswagen in Rochester area. 10/10 for Nick. cheers.
I test drove a car recently. The salesperson was Christian Sargent. He was not very informed about the financing or the colors of vehicles available. He was supposed to call me the next day with a trade in quote and he was looking for a vehicle for me at another dealer. I had to suggest that he check other dealers. He never called me I guess he does not want my business.
Took car in with specific issue; gave detailed description of the exact rpms when I could feel the problem. They did the routine maintenance and never addressed the problem and never told me that they didnt do any diagnostics for the primary issue.Discovered the non fix on drive home. Had to reschedule appt and in the meantime the check engine light came on. Duh. Also discovered new issue and when I returned was told they put wrong size part in.Told me it would be a 5 hour repair. Theyve had the car all day and still not finished. I had to insist it be done tomorrow am. Well see.
I traded in my 2013 Golf TDI today for a 2018 GTI Autobahn. Everyone at this dealership has always been prompt and professional. For the past 5 years I had all of my service on the Golf done here, and today the buyback of my TDI was handled quickly and efficiently. Purchasing my new 2018 GTI with David Ruzhansky was a pleasure. They met my price, he went over the options on the car thoroughly with us and our entire experience was pleasant. I highly recommend this dealership for sales and service!
*When Gary was working at Ide VW had only fantastic experiences, my experience with this group went SEVERELY downhill with the new service manager. BEWARE OF THIS DEALERSHIP.I own a 2012 Jetta SE which I purchased new from this dealership. After 2 years of driving this car one of the lug nuts was broken by the dealership when they were swapping winter for summer wheels. They claimed that this sometimes happens (but should never happen with a 2 year old vehicle). This would only happen if either: the wheels were not properly torqued (it is easy to overtighten metals beyond what they are capable of holding, if that happens the chronic overtightening causes fatigue in the metal), and/or the metal in the lug nuts was exceptionally poor quality. As a college student working/paying my way through school I am disgusted with this group, and with experience maintaining motorcycles Im aware of the skills/tools required for the repairs they were doing. They claimed that they had tried to drill out the lug and tap out the threads in the hub. At this time they quoted me $380 for the whole job and BALKED when I insisted that they DO THEIR JOB and go through the EXTRA INSURANCE which I pay for (Geico) to cover repairs >$250 on non-consumables. Begrudgingly they did so and insisted that I would need a new hub because it was impossible to drill out and retap the threads on the hub. Mechanically this is complete CRAP and this dealership did NOT stand by their product by replacing what should NOT fail in 2 years and was damaged AT THEIR OWN HANDS. I have never brought my car into any other dealership. I am very disappointed and will never bring my car to this shop again, and neither will my family. It is a dishonest business practice to charge for damages that a repair shop does resulting from improper technique or poor product.
My car is currently being put back together by another dealership because IDE VW wasnt capable of handling my warranty claim. They damaged numerous clips, panels, speakers, and managed to scratch my vehicle while trying to address door leaks (2015 VW GTI). The car leaked worse than before taking it here. Even after having one of the service advisors take pictures when I picked the vehicle up, the service manager Mike told VW they didnt damage anything! They tried to not take responsibilty for the damage. I tried contacting Mike for over a week to straighten this out to no avail. Finally after making an appearance at the dealership they owned up to the damages. Due to my experience here I would strongly recommend not taking your VW here. Its one thing to not be able to fix a problem...its another thing when you tell the manufacture handling the warranty claim the customer is a liar.
I had this shop replace a seal on my trunk. And now my car wont start. They refused to take look unless I paid a second diagnostic fee. Mya at the service desk was of no help. One of the technicians left a set of customer keys in my trunk. Take your business elsewhere.
This place is a classic snake pit. I came to test drive a car, when dealing with price it was the classic run to my manager trick, over 3 times! I made the mistake of letting them hold the keys to my car, so now I couldnt just escape. Finally I asked if I could just have my keys to leave, and now the fourth price was offered. I gave them a clear simple budget I could afford, they came no where close each time yet still tried to push an offer, very uncomfortable experience.
We were fortunately introduced to Dave Ruzhansky for the purchase of a VW Bettle Turbo. Dave was a very low-pressure salesman which my husband immediately bonded with. Believe me, NOT an easy thing to do. Dave was thorough in his description of the Bettles that were offered. I have no doubt if I wanted another color, he would have found it for me. As it was, I fell in love with a Habanero Orange bug that fits me just fine! We traded my yellow bug, that I also loved, but was too far beyond repair for her age, 2001. Dave was courteous, a pleasure to work with, and MOST OF ALL gave us the needed private time to make our decision. We will not hesitate to recommend Dave to our family and friends, as we know they will have a very positive experience !! Thank you, Dave!! It was a pleasure!!! I have a new outlook on Car Salesman. We also had the pleasure to work with Mike Anello, another great experience! Mike was thorough, thoughtful and a great help getting the needed paperwork signed. Jay and Laurie Whiting
We decided to look at the VW Atlas SEL as a potential replacement for our current leased SUV. Spencer Clarke made the test drive and informative aspects of the meetings easy and comfortable. We worked out a price for a 2018 Atlas that felt like a great deal, so we moved forward. Mike Anello in Finance made the lease signing simple. We were impressed with the professionalism and the overall environment at Ide — its a well-run organization and etch vehicle has beat our expectations.
After checking in with David Ruzhansky and looking at other dealerships in the area over the course of nearly 6 months, we decided to go back to Ide and strike a deal with David. He made it very easy and pleasant, not to mention that we got the best deal around. Mike Anello also made closing out the financial end of our deal a pleasure. We will definitely go back to Ide.
Not easy to work with, warranty part, . when u buying car warranty cover everything , when the time come to fix it ......... waiting for 6 month no answer 2016.2018 another attempt to see if anything change. very uncomfortable experience. always trying to buy something locally , IDE Honda (never get back my $100 from them) or IDE Volkswagen very dishonest about the pricing plus IDE VW has rude service manager. i paid $31.000 for car not to beg to do warranty service on it. very humiliate visit.
We just had our first experience at Ide VW on Jan.7, 2016. The service/parts department were great! We were treated so well. We especially liked the way we were kept informed of the wait time for what we needed done. Thank you Ide VW! We hope to do more business with you in the future!
We narrowed down our car decision with the VW Jetta as our first choice. Primary requirements were CPO, sporting-ness, dealer reputation, and cost. The first 3 were a given. The last, cost, was critical. I/We wanted to make a purchase, given our research, with the knowledge we paid a fair price for the vehicle.David was great to work with. Professional and welcoming to the whole family (important because the car was for our son & daughter). Made the experience at Ide Volkswagen perfect.
This review is in regards to the service department.I have used Dick Ide VW in East Rochester 4 times for service of my 2003 Passat. Some good experiences, some bad, but here are the details...First VisitI had a sludged up engine, low oil pressure, they replaced my oil pickup tube and cleaned out the engine. They did it relatively fast (1.5 days), and it was $600. They also fixed a bunch of recall issues for free, which was great. I was happy with this visit, and the car has been running great ever since.Second VisitNeeded a new steering pump, but they forgot to order the part and needed me to bring the car back the next day. They were upfront and honest about the mistake and gave me 10% off the repair. I did lose my car for an extra day. Was not super happy, but mistakes happen.Third VisitHad a bad CV joint, they repaired that issue for a fair price. But also repaired a sensor which was causing a check engine light. They assured me this would fix the problem. I told them it had been replaced numerous times, and never fixed the issue. Well $160 later, turns out it didnt fix the check engine light, and they said maybe another $180 repair MIGHT fix it. I said no, and drove away with a CEL light, a sensor I didnt need, and $160 lighter in my wallet. I guess thats what I get for owning a VW right!Fourth (and Last) VisitEmergency Brake Waring when the E-Brake was not on. This turned out to be a switch located in the center console. They wanted $170 parts and labor ($20 part on ebay), and said they had to wait 2 days for the part to come in (which is understandable). So I would need to listen to BEEEEP, BEEEEP, BEEEEP every 5 seconds for 2 days because there was no way they could possibly get it to stop. So after having my car all day, they charge me $30 and have not fixed my car. I had to go pick it up and listen to this mind numbing beeping for another 30 min commute home. At this point, I presume this is all just unfortunate for me, but no fault of theirs...I am determined at this point to fix the issue right when I get home, or Im going to go insane from the noise. It takes me 20min and 8 cents worth of electrical tape to fix the ENTIRE problem in a dark, freezing garage, with no knowledge of the problem. The moral of this story is... the technicians were VERY LAZY and did not even ATTEMPT to trouble shoot the problem. They just wanted to overcharge for parts and labor. A $20 part and 1/3 hour labor does not equal $170!Thanks for the $30 car wash, I will not be returning to Dick IDE VV of East Rochester.
Knowing the reputation that the VW dealer had before It was Dick Ide, I was hesitant to even stop by. But being lazy and not wanting to drive to Henrietta, living in East Rochester, I decided to give them a try. I sent an email about the car I was looking for and got a call within the hour to set up a test drive. So I popped over around 4 pm that day and spoke with Dan Welch. I told him I was looking at either a used CC or a 13 lease and trading in my 2000 GTi. We went through the available stock and decided on a beautiful silver CC sport Rline. Less than an hour later, my new car was registered, cleaned, inspected and Dan had my insurance updated. I drove home in my new car that same day. This was honestly the most rewarding experience I have ever had at a car dealership. Everyone in that building was helpful and engaging. I couldnt be happier. I will definitely get my next car here, and so will all my friends.
Do Not Lease a vehicle from this dealer. This was my 1st lease. My sales rep specifically told me that I could increase my yearly mileage limit at ANY time to 10,000 miles AND that the impact on my payment would be around $12/mnth. That WAS A LIE. You cant adjust or chnge your lease AT ALL. Typical car salesman BS. Say what you have to say to get the sale
They exceeded my expectation!Rich Ide, the owner, and Mike, the Director of the Service Department, did everything in their power to make me a happy and loyal customer. You couldnt have asked for better customer care. I left a happy customer because they continue to value each and every customer. Thank you!
These guys made my car buying experience easier than I could have ever imagined. They got me into a brand new car for less than I was expecting to pay. I appreciate the way I was treated and I will definitely encourage anyone looking for a new car to give the Ide family a try!
I took my car in for the 20k service, a fuse replacement initiated by VW, and to find out what was squeaking/rattling in my trunk. The techs werent able to locate the squeaking in my trunk which was understandable because it only occurred on the rough roads in Pennsylvania or in certain songs with deep bass. I offered to help since I knew about the parameters. A tech sat in the car, listened for it, and then got into the trunk to locate the specific issue. Within 2 minutes, the issue was found and fixed with only a few more minutes. The car came back washed with no problems and they refilled the Adblue as well (Ive heard some places forget about that because diesels still arent that common). There was coffee readily available and the lounge was comfortable. My experiences have been great here.
I was in a difficult situation where my car died and couldnt be repaired, even by VW of America. Dick Ide VW did all they could to repair the car, kept me well informed during the process, and let me know when it couldnt be repaired. They then helped me get into a CPO VW Jetta even when VW of America did little to help and I couldnt qualify for a car loan on my own. They went above and beyond what I would expect throughout the whole process. I highly recommend them.
I went in there on Friday afternoon looking to trade in my car and maybe get into a Jetta or Passat. I walked around the showroom for maybe 10 minutes and NO ONE said anything to me or offered to help me. Not even a greeting. Mind you, the place was empty, no customers. And at least 5 employees looked dead at me. Horrible customer service.
Maya and James always provide good service and advice. Honest, no upsale you experience at other places sometimes. When they recommend or state it has to be done it is the case, or something does not need to be done. Otherwise they give you the option if it can be done later.
Worst place ever. Rip you off on service and never want to do warranty. They said I got rock chips and there was plastic rubbing so my rust warranty won’t cover it. Then say it’s Volkswagen who denies the warranty and keep running around to not get it covered. Don’t go here save yourself time and huge headache.
I would like to give a big thanks for the wonderful service from Alyssa fico she went above and beyond to help me with my vehicle it is very hard to fine great service these days she was very professional and courteousDefinitely look forward to having my vehicle service there again
Completely unprofessional service bought my car from this shop and took it back for repairs just months after purchasing and got it back with new problems that they refuse to fix. Highly reccommend they fix their staff in shop along with the management. Overall highly unsatisfied

2022-02-25I’ve been to Ide many times and they always take care of me. I was under warranty for 6 months / 6000 miles and with a used car, issues arose. Ide always got me in within 2 weeks, and fixed my issues to get my car back up and running. I appreciate everything they’ve done for me and they’re always friendly. They also look at my notes and check the things I ask them to check.

2022-05-11I would highly recommend buying or leasing a car from Kiersten at Ide VW. She made the whole process so easy. She answered all my questions and took care of a few minor issues I had with the car before buying. I would gladly buy from her again.

2022-06-17I’ve recently purchased a 2022 VW Atlas Cross Sport Christina went above and beyond to answer any questions I had. I would definitely recommend this dealer and any questions you might have I recommend you to ask for Christina Young. I will definitely use this dealer in the future.

2020-08-17I have nothing but good things to say about this Dealer. Last Wednesday, a car I had been looking for for a while went up for sale at a great price. I called them immediately and asked if I could come look at it the next day. (I live out near the Albany area so its about a 3 and a half hour drive) They set up an appointment with me for 1 pm the following day. I drove out first thing in the morning and when I got there the car was right out front waiting for me, ready to go!The gentleman at the dealership that I worked with was Nick Weis. This was my very first car purchase by myself so I was a bit nervous however, Nick was one of the nicest guys Ive ever met and he helped me the whole way and was super patient. In fact, every single person at that dealer was exceptionally nice and friendly. They offered me a great price for my car and took care of everything ( I still had money left on my car). Nick made sure that I had the smoothest possible experience and I could not be any happier!I absolutely love the car and I am so excited for all the adventures to come!Thank you so much Nick and Ide! I highly recommend them to anyone looking to buy a car

2022-02-10Great Service by Jim !! They took care of my car quickly and correctly. Unlike the other dealership that would have void my warranty by their maintenance actions. They won me over !! Thanks !!

2022-02-04Scheduled an appt online to get an oil change and diagnose a transmission problem. Drove an hour and a half to be told that they only have one tech on Saturdays so they can’t do the diagnosis. On the way there got a low coolant warning, was told it would be taken care of, kept getting low coolant warning for a week after and just double checked levels, it’s far below minimum so there’s no way that any coolant was added.

2021-10-28Emailed Ide to schedule a test drive, Kiersten contacted me, and four days later I had a great new VW Atlas. She made the whole experience super easy - was helpful with all my questions, super communicative, and not sales-y at all. I wasnt 100% sure I wanted a VW; had five previous cars from another maker/dealer, but the sales experience here with Kiersten was better and it helped make the decision easy.

2022-01-05I purchased my new Tiguan at Bob Johnson VW and had a horrible experience with my brakes being recalled.Looking for a better VW service experience, I eventually landed on Ide and have had a great experience with recalls and other service. Quick and easy. Best VW dealer around.

2021-10-26Bought a new VW with them, worked with Kiersten. She is amazing, helped so much, she was on top of everything, literally buying a car with her was as easy as to buy a bread in the store.Cannot say anything bad about this dealer or Kiersten by herself, recommendingAlso prices are cheaper then in some dealers for the same cars

2019-06-18Traveled out to Rochester from Syracuse to check out their TDI cars they had in stock.
