The hair salon is literally the best!! ITS AMAZING! 5 stars for the hair salon. But for the nail part when you walk in everyone is staring at you, they have little to no understanding of what your saying(they dont speak English) and they mess up you nails whether its acrylic basic manicure, pedicure etc. I 100% recommend you dont go to the nail portion of this business. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME!!
A shell of what it used to be. Stylists not as accomplished as others previously employed. Salon requires upkeep. Prices are reasonable but outlandish at the sametime. Thankful though that its not as busy as it used to be, despite this service still slow as stylists are always meandering.
Ive been going to Theresa for years! Shes very professional, staff is very nice, salon is very clean. Service is always great!
I did not like any thing about this place ask for style got a simple bob with no style at all looks like wig ask her to put closure on top silk closure she sewed all in the closure and I said to her I do not want to see thread guess what got home to mirror and there was thread showing.
The service was good they move fast and the lady who blow dried my hair didn’t burn me or fry my scalp as most shops have done.
I love the setting! And my fav stylist is there every time I go, Also my hair has grown long & healthy which is a plus! 😊
This place is good the own and her employees are very nice ladies, but I came here 2 yrs ago n got my hair colored, after I washed my hair it fell out.
I love it here. U just have to come when their not busy. And its the only place in queens that clean all their instrument after each customer. Thats the best part😉

Always get a nice wash and set there but don’t get a wax there because you will be disappointed.
I hate this place service is horrible they make you wait forever and when your finally in the chair they walk away start conversations and coMe back like nothing ever happend, also they tell you one price then when you get done they charge you more, Ill NEVER come back here again !!!!!

You sign in when you arrive and get a bracelet, its goes smoothly, they all do a great blow out. I only go for blow outs.

I have been several times and there is always something that I do not like. I always went with the desire to leave very happy but no. The last time, they burned my face with oxygen and my lock of hair was left in half 😢. Some of the hairdressers are good.

2022-07-15At first there was a miscommunication with my hair. But they accommodated me so well and handled the situation smoothly everyone was great and the service is amazing. Everyone made me feel comfortable and welcomed ! My hair looks so good and healthy!

2018-11-13They take you in fast unless you are waiting on an specific hair stylish, they treat you with respect and kindness. Neat, and beautiful place. And a big plus is that they have their own hair products line, with versions for every hair needs, I tried the ginger hair mask and I had to buy it right away because it was so great. I have thin, straight hair with coloring damage, and I saw an instant difference in it. Great place!

2021-09-20This is one of the salons I used to go to as a kid with my older sister. Apparently the salon is now owned by someone else, and if you read the comments it seems as though they no longer know how to do Black hair and are secretly perming their Black client’s hair. Most of the 5 star reviews are from white hispanic people or people that visited the salon for another service other than hair services.

2021-03-22The BIGGEST PROBLEM I have is there is NO price list posted. I have been going to salons for over 30 years and this is the first time there is no price chart on the wall. When asked they say after you get your hair done 🤔. If I tell you TOUCHUP and color and deep conditioner there should be a basic price, unless your hair is super long. I miss my hair dresser 😢!

2019-12-02Love this hair salon. I go everytime I am in the area. I have natural kinky curly hair and they get it pin straight without hurting my scalp or burning me. Also very fast. I have come here for sew-ins as well and they do the BEST.

2018-12-19Wonderful shops and businesses. I visited Impressions once and for 12 years I couldn’t look anywhere else for quality service. They treated my hair, it grew long and healthy, and in the long run they became an important part of my self care routine in nyc. You can’t go wrong with their expertise, trust me.

2018-11-15DO NOT COME HERE !! This place is no longer Impressions. I stopped by in need of an emergency wash and set. I lived in the area years ago when it was ran by Theresa. They secretly mix perm in the shampoo which is placed in a Head & Shoulders bottle. I know this because i was expecting a wash when an older woman put something in my hair. She kept rubbing in saying it was special shampoo. The consistency was very creamy/ perm like and i started to feel burning in my scalp. I have natural hair and my curl pattern has been ruined. They have no regard for healthy hair, and the fact that it is very much illegal to put chemicals in a clients hair with out notifying them. Look around the salon, youll notice everyones hair is straight, but very thin and burnt.

2018-06-01So before I went to this salon I called three times to let them know that I am natural and that I do not use any chemicals in my hair. I also let them know I can not have excessive heat in my hair. They assured me that my hair would be properly cared for and that all their products were natural products that they make themselves . I went in for a wash n set. After my hair was washed and conditioned there was this lemon product used and it smelled so good that I didnt think to ask what it was. After my hair was washed I noticed my hair was very different from when I washed my hair at home. It smelled differently and the texture was very different. I just assumed that it was the conditioner they used and it made my hair soft. When my hair was blow dried the woman then flat ironed a piece of my hair even though i stated before I sat in the chair that I could not have excessive heat on my hair. When I told her to stop she kept saying just a little bit to make it look nice. I told her no and then she finally gave up. Two weeks later my curls didn’t come back so I decided to wash it to see what was going on. Not only do I currently have heat damage but I also have chemical damage in my hair. When I called the salon to inform them instead of giving me a refund or atleast oferring one, they instead offered a free wash n set which showed the lady on the phone had not been listening. If you are natural do not go to this salon I was natural for years and now my hair is damaged and smells like burnt hair when I wash it.
