DO NOT GO TO THIS SALON THIS IS NOT THE OLD IMPULSE THIS ONLY HAS AN UPSTAIRS AND THEY CAN NOT DO HAIR.. I left with wet hair and went somewhere else and got exactly what I wanted ... they took my money and did not follow instructions at this impulse
Man I miss this place. Excellent barbers and great food. I hope theyre still open because I plan to stop by the next time Im in NY.
Made a appointment at 12:00 did not leave till 7 only two workers that’s not common sense
Customers are taken care of professionally. Good music, good customer services. Products 1use top of the best.

2022-01-16They don’t honor appointment times. They don’t even tell you hey, I know you had an appointment but we’re a little backed up today. People have children and pay for babysitters. My appointment was at 11:30am I walked out by 3pm because my sitter had to leave at 4 and my hair had been nothing but washed. 3 and a half hours just sitting WHEN I HAD AN APPOINTMENT. If you don’t mind waiting all day long to get your hair done, they do a good job with hair. But I have babies, can’t do it.

2021-08-01My husband had a HORRIBLE experience at this place. A disgrace to the culture. Unprofessional, and disgusting customer service skills.He came in and the “stylist” that was present that evening said they were closed (someone was getting knotless braids in the shop at the time) but she insisted on asking him what he needed. My husband told her it’s ok I’ll go somewhere else,I need to get my hair done this evening. She followed him downstairs and insisted to ask him what he needed done, and asked for his name. (He needed his hair washed and retwist)She said it wouldn’t take long, she will tell her boss that it was last minute appointment, and she proceeded to wash my husbands hair. She received a call from the shop owner, and the owner told the “stylist” to tell my husband to leave with his hair soak and wet, twist half pulled out, and call back to make an appointment. She then also harassed my husband and tried to take a photo of him because he said he will write a review. Stay away from this place, just disgusting and weird behavior.

2021-06-19Had an appointment for 10:30 for a lox and retwist for above shoulder locs got to the salon had 2 heads in progress and 1 undone , no apologies nothing website said 85 dollars but charges something different in person I didn’t leave until 3:30. Second time I came here would not go again and would most definitely not recommend

2017-06-30DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE!Im only giving it ONE star because thats the only way I can make this post.I came to this salon because it was highly recommended but it turns out that the ownership/management has changed.Arrived at 5:48PM for a 6:00PM appointment to relax (retouch) my hair.My was not touched until 6:40PM.While my hair was being done, the stylist would stop to answer calls and engage in conversation.I was charged $15 for a trim!I wanted only 1-2 inches taken off my hair but the stylist cut my hair from chest length to just above my shoulders (~6-8 inches off)!!!My 6:00PM appointment to relax my hair ended at 10:00PM.😡😡😡

2017-10-02I have been here a couple of years back and had to go back. The best years of my life. The energy they give. Music they play plus they offered me a drink which I hardly take. If youre thinking of getting my hair done. Just go. At least try it before you make a judgement to not go. The lady, Louis the owner, that did my hair, just reminds me of my mom, caring, sweet. Why wouldnt I go back. I dont see why not.

2019-01-26I went in yesterday with a full head of hair and ask for a specific haircut. I left with a botched up haircut. The entire back of my hair was messed up, part was shaved cleaned , part was shaped , I asked for a line on the side of my head, instead he gave me a driveway on the side of my head the gap was so wide.I didnt look at the back of my head in the mirror and only realized the horror when I got home. So after paying them 80 to mess up my hair I had to pay an additional 20 at the barber to make it look somewhat decent. Whats even worse is that Im wearing a wig for the next 3 weeks until my hair gets back to looking decent. Never ever again!!!!!

2015-04-30It was horrible as far as phone service making appointment okay. When I got there the person NIcole wast even there I waited it out so when she got there I showed her 3 hair styles I decided to do with one it was supposed to be be a lil shaved in the back layers with one side shorty than the other make a long story short DONT GET NICOLE TO CUT YOUR HAIR I WASNT HAPPY I TOLD HER WHAT STYLE YOU CUT SHE SAID I DID 3 STYLES IN ONE I NEVER ASKED FOR THAT THAN SHE STOOD THERE LIKE THE DEVIL DONT WANT US TO GET ALONG LOL I BELIEVE IN GOD BUT THE DEVIL HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH MY HAIR... I CAME FROM UPSTATE I HAD TO GO TO ANOTHER SALON TO FIX MY HAIR SHE WAS RUDE WHEN I ASKED WHATS THE NAME OF THE RELAXER SHE PUT IN MY HAIR SHE WOULD NEVER TELL ME BECAUSE MY HAIR FELT OUT I PAID 100$ FOR A $1 CUT IT WAS HORRIBLE NOW ALL I CAN DO IS WAIT TILL IT GROW BACK JUST DONT GO THEIR ESPECIALLY TO NICOLE

2011-11-12The Food is out of this world. Ask for combo dishes of Escovitched Chicken w either Brown Stewed chicken or Jerk Chicken. The Rice & Peas (aka Rice & Beans) are incredible. The ambience w/music is great and the food is out of this world. If you want the most delicious and authentic Jamaican food, then you must go there.. You will not be disappointed. You will feel like you are in Jamaica...... the island that is!!!

2016-07-13I am SO MAD they closed the restaurant down! When I tell you the food was amazing, it was A-MAZING! The food was cooked with love & you can tell. The price was so reasonable for the portion given. Whyyyy would they do this!!
