Best Quality food and drinks. Mutter Paneer and Malai Kofta were my favorite. The staff was very nice and the manager came over to make sure everything was to our liking. We left quite satisfied. Thanks for everything. Cant wait to go back to enjoy the delicious food and ambiance. Must visit this restaurant to explore delicious Indian food.
Came to this restaurant as I was craving for some Indian food and this restaurant had some great reviews. To start with the appetisers, the curd in the phuchka wasn’t fresh or cold. The mango shrimp was a disaster, boiled flavourless shrimp in a mild sweet sauce to be precise.Ordered a safe dish in butter chicken, that turned out to be flavourless, unevenly cut chicken pieces in a watery gravy with no cream or richness. Mango lassi had little to no flavour. The accompaniment rice was the only decent thing served.A very bad experience for the price point.
We visit for the first time on valentines! Although my boyfriend has allergies they were meticulous in asking the chef what dish is appropriate and yummy. The food was amazing and filling! They made sure and took the time out to ask how our food was including the chef who asked us personally. I will be going again and ordering delivery! This was one appetizer; mango ginger shrimp!
Pretty awesome Indian food for Harlem. There are very few Indian restaurants in this area, and India Summer does it right.I really enjoyed their kadai paneer, malai kofta, and their cheese naan. The paneer was spicy and filled with large, crunchy, and tasty onions and bell peppers. The onions are cooked really well so there’s no uncomfortable bite to them when eating. The sauce is very dry and spicy, allowing for the spices to be the star of the show. The malai kofta is tasty and is very soft and savory. The creamy sauce is thick and a little sweet, contrasting well with the previous paneer dish described. Finally, the cheese naan is excellent. The naan is some of the softest naan I’ve ever had, and the cheese inside is sparse but tastefully executed. You can tell that there is a mozzarella-like cheese spread throughout the bread.Overall an excellent Indian restaurant and one I would visit again!
Had a spectacular dinner here on a Saturday. Super packed the waiter did everything to accommodate us. I was a little disappointed there was no poppadom when there were chutneys on the table but the food was so delicious and all fresh!! For some reason I thought the appetizer was served warm but its not. I really appreciate their take on the cheese naan. The chicken was juicy and flavorful but not over the top. Thank God it wasnt overcooked! The sag was my favorite, because it was the perfect balance of cream, cheese, and green. It wasnt soggy, which I hate, but instead super rich in flavor. I will be coming back to try their other vegetation options, so excited!!
No exaggeration, this is the best Indian food I’ve ever had! My friends and I loved every dish we got, mutter paneer, tikka masala, butter chicken, lamb vindaloo, every kind of naan! Mohammed was SO kind and amazing as our server. 10/10 will be back, and 10/10 recommend!
The food was awful! Naan was super thick, and Paneer Makhani was very spicy with no other flavor. Kofta was super hard . And the to go box was damaged by the time they delivered it home. The quality of food did not have anything to do with the time of delivery. The taste was awful
My boyfriend and I went here for Valentine’s Day. The service was great! The staff was very attentive to us and always kept my water glass full. The food was incredible. For appetizers we ordered the chicken samosas and for dinner, we had chicken madras and crispy duck breast with mushroom sauce. The sauces were great! We couldn’t stop dipping the naan in there! We were even able to give our compliments to the chef at the end of our meal. If you want good Indian food in Harlem, this is the place!
If you want inauthentic indian food and a Restaurant that tries to cut corners to save costs then this is your place. We had a terrible experience at this restuarant. First of all when i ordered coca cola they brought it out in a wine class with probably 25% coke and 80% ice. I asked them for a can of coke and they said “sorry we dont serve cans” then they were reluctant to give me a glass of coke without ice. Eventually they took it back and we saw one of the servers remove the ice from the glass with a spoon one at a time ::gross::Now lets get to their food— they basically cook the curry sauces and meat for all the dishes individually & then i guess whenver they receive an order from a customer they’ll just mix the protein with the sauce. If you cut meat with a knife you’ll see theres zero flavor penetration from the sauce. In real curries you gotta let the meat simmer in the sauce. However, in this restaurant theres just flavorless chunks of meat floating around some terribly bland sauce. Not sure how they have such high ratings but as you can see its mostly from non-indians who are not familiar with authentic south asian cuisine.
I was craving for a vegetarian dish. I wanted curry and Indian summer hit the spot. I had ni meat this day. That was my intent. The meal was superb. The attention & service of the owner was quite refreshing. I was made to feel at home. There is an awesome feeling to be gotten when,,, you eat food and there is no meat within it.
Really delicious food here. Im not the type of person who normally goes out if their way for South Asian food (prefer East Asian cuisines, generally) -- but this place is really, really good and I will definitely go out of my way to eat here again.Tried a lamb dish (Tandoori Kabab) -- veggies were fresh, spices delicious, meat high quality.Garlic Naan also was great. Ill definitely be trying more!
I only discovered this restaurant recently after they have been open for 2 years. Its the best Indian food I have had in the city (compared to various restaurants in Curry Hill and Queens), the staff are very kind and helpful. Flavors of the curries and meats are not over seasoned and you can taste the spices. Theyre doing something right here and Im sorry I only found them now. Will definitely be back.
This place is awesome! If you seek authentic, high quality Indian food in Harlem, dont look any further. We loved the Lamb Roganjosh and Chicken Saagwala. Seriously finger-lickin good! All the main items are served with rice. For dessert, try Hot Gulab Jamuns. Their masala chai is amazing too. Overall, the restaurant has a great vibe. Highly recommended!
Food was delicious. Got the garlic naan, veggie samosas, lamb tika masala, butter chicken, mango lahsi, and a diet coke. We left full and happy. The sauces for the tika masala and butter chicken were so flavorful and delicious. Couldnt stop eating either and wanted to lick the bowls clean lol
Ha! It’s me AGAIN! Lol I’m here for the ten thousandth time….okay, I didn’t reach that point yet, but I’m sure by next summer, I would’ve made my ten thousandth visit because I absolutely love this place. The staff and owner are SUPER sweet! The food…listen, the food is awesome! Coming to this restaurant always makes me happy. I leave happy. I happily give them my support! :D I can’t wait to see this place expand!
What a delightful surprise! By far the best Indian food weve had in ages! And we travel all over NYC to get our Indian food cravings satisfied. We ordered delivery directly from their website. Had to call and ask a few questions re spice level and does rice come with main dishes. It does. Very friendly and accommodating. Ordered Chicken Korma, Saag Paneer and Malai Kofta. Every dish was delicious! Perfect Korma Sauce, nice juicy pieces of chicken! It all still tasted great even on the second day!
What a gem of a place! Its my first time, and YES do try their Fish Curry. Their wine selection, while small, is tastefully crafted. I also appreciate that every staff person is fully vaccinated, and would hope patrons - out of respect for this wonderful business and the community at large - would also honor their trust system: if youre vaxxed, you dont need to wear a mask! PS: their outside patio is also well appointed. Im excited to visit here again!
My young son and I found this great neighborhood restaurant this morning passing by on our bicycle. They are very friendly and, my opinion, offer the best Indian fare north of 110th both on the east and the west side.We tried a few options from the menu and found them very well made and of high quality (especially the fish). My five year old kept thanking the lady who looked after our table telling her how good the meal was: “I tried many new foods here today and I liked them all”.We are looking forward to go back.
Wow! This place is authentic, clean, fresh and absolutely delicious. I’ve ordered sag paneer, lamb biryani, vegetable samosas, chicken korma, mulligatawny and all was perfection. It’s a bit pricey but worth every penny. This is my go-to and the best Indian food in Harlem. I’ve only ordered delivery and the delivery is also great. On time, correct and delivery instructions on point. I look forward to trying the other dishes and also dining there.
This is such a great spot with really fresh flavors and excellent spice. I ordered the Veg. Samosa and the Vegan Aloo Gobi, it was delicious! Can’t wait to try their other menu options. I did a pick up order and it was easy and quick. However, they have a great covered outdoor seating area and space to social distance indoors. I highly encourage you to give them a try.
This is just a top notch place. The food is authentic, captures flavor profiles perfectly, and the service is attentive and careful. I went during covid and the precautions and cleanliness were perfect. Nothing to be desired further in this count. In general, this is one of the best Indian eateries amongst the many I have tried and if you decide to go here you will not be disappointed. My guess is you will be soon back for more.
ONE WORD... DELICIOUS...THIS IS NICE RESTAURANT SETUP AS THE OUTSIDE FEELS LIKE INSIDE... VERY COSY...THE FOOD WAS EXCELLENT AND HAVE CHOICES FOR VEGETARIAN...WE ADDED OUR OWN TOFU AND TADA A MAGNIFICENT NEW YEAR EVE DINNER...THANK *Ü* SO MUCH FOR EVERYTHING...MAY YOUR BUSINESS CONTINUE GROWING IN 2021...NAMASTE...
Indian Summer serves some of the best Indian food Ive ever tasted (and Ive lived in London, where good Indian food is the norm), as well as some of the best value in Harlem. Ive only -- so far -- had take out from here, which has been consistently delicious, fresh, and inventive. The flavors are bold, yet subtle in how theyve been blended, and the quality of the ingredients stands out every time. I am very impressed with the cooking and look forward to visiting it in person soon. Highly recommended.
This place is phenomenal! The food is so amazing, tonight was my 2nd time visiting and the food never disappoints. The lamb chops are my favorite along with the garlic naan and chicken tikka. The ambience is so relaxing. The waitresses are kind and the owner Abbasi made us feel so welcomed. We tried their mango dessert which was delicious. I love everything about this place and will continue to come! Awesome place with great quality cuisine!!!
This place is amazing! Very peaceful, they have very good food and very good service. The food serving is a lot and they had vegan options that are flavorful and filling. I had a good first experience eating Indian food and I will definitely be coming back. I recommend coming here 100%.
Some of the best Indian food Ive had in New York. The lamb and chicken were both tender and good quality, and the spices provided an amazing flavor. Ordered Naan as well which was solid. The owner was very friendly and even let us try a little bit of a dessert for free. The outdoor seating area was also lovely, if youre looking for a nice location to dine out.I live in Brooklyn but will definitely be coming back here in the future!
Just had the best butter chicken for lunch here. Nicest people running the restaurant.Safe and hygienic. This is the best Indian food Ive had in NYC. You need to go here and support this restaurant. We need them to be here. Such a nice afternoon enjoying dynamiteIndian food.
Ive been wanting to try the Indian restaurant on the corner of 122nd Street and Lenox Avenue called Indian Summer...it was definitely worth the wait! Delicious tandoori chicken on a bed of grilled onions and peppers with basmati rice. Very generous portions and had enough for leftovers tonight. I would highly recommend the restaurant. Also made to feel very welcome by the gentleman who took care of us...Raj
What can I say? I’m absolutely breath taken! The ambiance is perfect the music was soothing and the waitress that attended us was amazing but last but not least the food was a first class trip to India. This place is so good I almost want to keep it a secret from all of my friends but I’d be doing them a great injustice.
I came here with my mother today as we were in the area and decided to celebrate after hearing Joe Biden would become president. Both My mother and I are Ecuadorian, but we decided to try new cuisine and Indian Summer Harlem did not disappoint. From the moment we arrived, to the moment we left the service was great. I especially like that the utensils are wrapped in plastic wrap, which is important considering that we are still in Covid times. The food was incredible, especially for my first time trying it. The location was in a lovely part of Manhattan, and the environment made me feel welcomed. I would definitely come here again!
Such a great find!! My friend recommended this place and we finally got to try it for ourselves yesterday. Appetizers are superb, especially the bhel puri was a favorite. We also had kadai paneer and butter chicken, both of which were really good and well-spiced. Food presentation was beautiful, service was friendly and attentive -- what is not to like! We will be back!
Wonderful! Finally, great Indian cuisine in the neighborhood. We have been settling for mediocre take out but this will be our new go to place! Generous portions, perfectly seasoned and tender chicken. (Would love for their dipping sauce take out containers to be larger though.) They even threw in a surprise sweet rice dessert.
Food is fine but the service was atrocious. The front of house staff acted as if our table (and the one other table in the restaurant that was occupied) was a major imposition. Hey guys — if you’re not interested in table service that’s fine: stick to takeout/delivery. But if you’re going to over dine-in, you really need to up your game.
Mr. Abbasi welcomed us so nicely to his restaurant. My husband and I visited with our baby on a Sunday afternoon after traveling 1.5 hours. The food is AMAZING. I had the Lamb Saag which was cooked to perfection. It was tender and flavorful. My husband had the Nigili Korma which was also insanely delicious. During Covid we were so nervous to be out but the distancing and the private and covered outdoor seating was perfect. Don’t think about it...just go and eat the wonderful food here. Amazing flavor and service. I’m thankful that places like this are able to still be open despite the times we are in. I pray their business continues to flourish. God bless.
Nice food and experience at Indian Summer. We went for lunch and owners Mr. Abbasi and Mr. Rajiv made us feel welcome. The restaurant seating, restroom is maintained very clean. Staff was polite, service was good and food was yummy, we left happy. Will definitely go again if we are in the area.
I never heard of this place until I Googled it yesterday Ive been a resident of Harlem for a while and use another local Indian spot that I will continue to use. My husband and I decided we should try something new, this place had enough good reviews so why not try it. Turns out the people who are reviewing this either really like the owners themselves or have never had legit Indian food because this was not it. Yes the food was seasoned but it was not traditional indian. I got the food (lamb vindaloo ×2) and still have to add my own curry powder garlic powder Etc. It was full of pepper, paprika but no real tummeric, cardamom, curry vindaloo flavors. The food had a huge tomato base which is not a vindaloo at all. Very disappointed because of all of the great reviews but I guess if youve never had traditional Indian food before and only order Chiken Tikka Masala you would like this.
Indian Summer - Harlem is such a great addition to our community. Authentic North Indian flavors that leave me licking my fingers. Excellent quality and very affordable. The owners are wonderful and personal in their service. It makes me want to go back every week. Being of Indian origin and someone who cooks Indian a fair amount myself, the restaurant still draws me and my family back often. Ask them for an off-menu item Paneer Korma, a favorite of my daughter and our family. To those who have ever eaten at the famous Khyber Restaurant in Mumbai, India...it reminds me of the subtle flavors of the paneer korma served there. Wish the owners of Indian Summer all the success as I want to be able to go back again and again.
Indian Summer is a great addition to the neighborhood. No longer do we have to trek to “Curry Hill” or Jackson Heights to find authentic Indian food. The food was delicious and well-presented. They also ask you the level of spice you want, which I thought was really delightful. We will definitely be back.
Ive never been to the restaurant; only ordered. But seeing them on my credit card statement made me smile because their food is PHENOMENAL. And Ive ordered multiple times and will be pre-ordering ASAP. Its so wonderful to have delish Indian food in Harlem, because Ive been disappointed by others. But this really put a positive spin on life now that were sheltering in place!
I have eaten at many fine Indian food restaurants in and around Manhattan and was very pleasantly surprised by Indian Summer. The dishes were all delicately prepared and the presentation was what one would expect at a Michelin star restaurant. Well worth the trip to Harlem! Definitely one of the tops Indian spots in NYC.
This is an amazing Indian Restaurant. The food is absolutely fantastic. We have been looking for a good Indian restaurant for a while, but many places just dumb things down for the general consumer. This was some of the best Indian food we had in a long time. Flavorful. We ordered spicy and it was perfect--just enough to give you pleasure without overwhelming the flavors. We had vegetarian dishes: Baigan Bharta and Mutter paneer. The mutter paneer was particularly outstanding. The nan was perfect. The ginger lemonade amazing. Rasmalai nice and creamy. One thing a bit underwhelming was the vegetable platter in appetizers --the samosa was good, but the fritters were not inspiring. Overall, a great restaurant and I am looking forward to be back.
Pretty good food, a nice atmosphere, and lovely proprietor. They made a small mistake in ringing up my order, so they comped my drink unprompted. The chicken tikka masala is quite good, the chai was delightfully warm and rounded. Definitely check it out if youre in the area.
Must try!Delicious Indian food with many options for appetizers, main course and desserts. We had bhelpuri, Garlic Naan, Mutton Korma, Chicken Tikka and Rasmalai for our meal. Bhelpuri was perfectly fresh and tangy. Naan was soft and was great with the curries we ordered. Also, try chai (tea) here, will be especially good in the coming cold months!Chef and co-owner Mr. Abbasi definitely knows his customers. Ask for recommendations if you are new to Indian food.

2022-06-08WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE PHONE ORDER After receiving my orders, I called the restaurant back, asking, Please train your staff on how to pack my food correctly. You dont put little plastic cup sauce inside your food. I ask him kindly send me another Bhel Poori or refund my card. He was trying to talk to the delivery person who packed the food in our conversation. The manager told me that the person who filled my food didnt put the little plastic cup dressing on the side of my Bhel Poori, and he try to argue with me that it was not a mistake by them.I have been going there every week since I move to Harlem. I will be conscientious when you order food in one line or delivery. These days you have to make sure whoever is papering the food flow all The Health Department Food Safety Rules. I paid the delivery person $9:00 tips on order of $34:00. I have been in the hospitality industries in India, London, Los Angles, Miami to New York City. I opened six hotels as a Food and Beverage Director of significant luxury hotel brands. I tell all my food & beverage manager on the floor never Arguing with the guest and own your simple mistake and rectify it asap and be kind to everyone. The worst customer service needs some training. Please see attached few pictures in regards my issue with my order.Indian Summer fails to meet customer expectations in terms of service quality.

2021-10-16Absolutely killer food and service. Everyone was so friendly, helpful, and attentive. My friend and I CRUSHED a meal probably fit for five people in nine minutes. We, two chatty broads, were silent for the entire time because the most important task before us was getting as much deliciousness into our belly as possible. See before and after photos. One of the best meals in Harlem for a great price!

2021-08-10We were so happy to finally find this place, we went to Harlem just to find Indian Summer. We heard a lot about it but the reviews came short about the hospitality, kindness of the staff and of course Abbasi, the owner, Yes! he was the one who attend us this time and it was amazing. This cozy restaurant has left the best impressions! the most incredible Indian food, delicious dishes, beautiful presentation, and wonderful desserts. I recommend to everyone! I would like to come back here again and again.

2021-08-10¡We just loved this place! Amazing food but most of all the service was superb. When we found in google maps Indian Summer we did not regret at all. ¡Thank you Abbasi for your dishes recommendations and for your hospitality! We hope to come back many times. Price wise is perfect, very generous with the quantity served, almost to the point that we were not able to eat it all but even so was not possible because was so gooood. Amazing cozy place in a great corner in Harlem.

2022-06-24For the first time out side of the India i tested golgappa which is called fuchka on my region. Its not up to the mark but definitely i say not so bad. If you are craving for fuchka in New York i definitely suggest you this place. And i ordered a dish which is combination with sea food and chicken. I must suggest to try everyone this one as on that plate you can taste salmon fish, shrimp, chicken, lamb and scallops. Also its surprising that this plate comes with zira rice so its a complete meal.

2021-09-28They opened right before the start of the pandemic and really embrace the love in the neighborhood. The food is good as are the lassis. The staff is incredibly nice and friendly. Stop by for a date night or order to go.

2021-07-04Hands down best Indian food I have ever had. Fresh, delicious, and amazing. That’s not an exaggeration - it is that good. The location is wonderful, especially for a nice summer night and the staff and owners are so nice, friendly and attentive. Will be back to try more dishes.

2021-09-01What a find!!!!! Make sure you look for it or you might just miss it. Right on the corner is this amazing hole in the wall Indian food. From the moment we walked it, we were greeted and seated right away. The man working was very nice and was quick with everything. The food was very flavorful and fresh. Portion size was huge, get ready to take leftovers. Very decent prices which we loved as well. This is a must visit place if your looking for cheap, friendly, tasty, cute place to eat. This is a good date spot. Love this place, we will be back

2022-05-21Nice to see Indian in Harlem. I normally go to Queens for Indian but the food here was Pretty good. We ordered a sizzling salmon masala and chicken tikka masala and garlic naan. The host and chef were very nice and accommodating.
