Lots of indian restaurants have biryani but few do it well. They really nail it here — tender meat, no mushy rice, and plenty of spices including distinct floral notes like pandan, rose, and orange that don’t usually come through in the average biryani. You can get two dinners out of one order if you include a side or two.
Amazing. Best Indian food Ive had in a very long time, and I eat Indian food all the time!. You literally cant go wrong with anything you order. I got vegetarian food this time but my chicken was soooo juicy last time. The owner is also very personable -- he remembered my order from the last time I came in 3 weeks prior. I cant wait to go back!!!
How is this place is not on everyone’s must eat list? Amazing. In a sea of standard Indian food of Bushwick. This place is clearing elevating what they do. The heat level is actually real. The curry and sauces are deeply flavored and developed. Actual basmati rice?! You can miss this place. Never ordering any other Indian food. The owners should be proud.
Ordered the $18 special with 1 app, entree and naan. Got the chicken tikka appetizer with malai kofta and potato chaat with chicken tikka masala. Everything is really good but the tikka masala is deff a favourite. I asked for spicy and it still wasn’t so next time I’ll make sure to note extra spicy.Foods flavour is really good. Probably the best I’ve had in Brooklyn so far. Even the green chutney was good doesn’t have the usual fake green colour and weird watering taste.
Wow! Yo!! For real? Please make sure you order their daal-palaak ka shorba! Its a hunter green soup that taste so good youll want to rub into the bruises you might have on your body. The sauces here are out of THIS world. I got the butter chicken and it was luscious and sufficient. The mural work at this place feels like youre engaging in a sensual ceremony that activates all your pleasure zones. Make sure you close it with the deconstructed carrot cake - I forgot the name but theyll know what Im talking about. Tellem Lou sent ya!
Legit, this place possibly makes the best Indian food anywhere in NYC and one of the best in the country, so rich, flavorful, authentic, fresh and aromatic. I tried most of their dishes and spices, and their food doesnt get any better than that. The prices are great and the portions are huge. Thank you for your outstanding service.
Anyone suggesting this place is anything but perfect is picky, uptight, and hard to please (you know who you are). The service and recommendations were incredibly helpful, while the food was worthy of another visit and further exploration of the menu. Our chicken tikka masala was cooked handsomely, and the accompanying sauce divine. Paneer dishes are unique and bursting with flavor. I especially liked the sauce that resembled rice pudding - no idea what that was, but I ate it as a standalone dish. My dog, seated across from me at the table, enjoyed his blend of Indian spices, and hes hard to please (hes a poodle). Come here once and youll surely come again. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I never write reviews but something about this place is making me go out of my way to actually leave feedback for once. First of all, even though we are in the midst of Covid-19, if you live in this neighborhood, take your time to go here and do a pick up order. Its a shame we cant do indoor eats right now because the look of this place is so progressive, niche and being overlooked by everyone. If you know anything about Brooklyn culture, this place is 100% representative as to what that is; the walls are filled with extensive and breathtaking murals, the fixtures are rustic yet modern and even the furnishing is genuine to Indian culture. The food is full of flavor and authentic beyond a doubt. Ive ordered about 10 dishes from here now and I have never been dissapointed. Nothing tastes generic or like any other restaurant. Each dish has its own specific flavor, which I promise you, rivals on your previous favorite version of it from any other place, maybe even your mothers kitchen! Finally, the staff is so friendly and super accommodating. I walked in and talked to the owner and felt like I was talking to a friend. At the end of our conversation, he gave me a voucher for a discount next time I eat there, you can tell he really cares about his clients and business; its always a pleasure to support hard working, honest people and the local small business owner. This restaurant has only been open for a few months now and is already my favorite Indian spot in the whole city. Try it and youll understand why.
Oh my goodness! I have never had Indian food that tasted so good. There are no words to describe the taste and flavour of this food. Sag paneer is my favourite Indian dish and when I tasted this, the flavour and taste just blew me away. It was so green and thick and rich. My compliments to the chef. Excellent!
Got take out and was super impressed! Everything was delicious, well seasoned and packaged impeccably. Would definitely recommend!Edit: been ordering regularly from here for the last 4 months, the food is as amazing as ever and is delivered perfectly. Never had a bad experience at Indika. Also that lamb biriyani is bomb. You guys rock!
I never write reviews for restaurants but I love this place so much lol. Ive ordered here at least once a month (but usually more than that) since they opened, and everything is consistently awesome. Nothing is ever watery or bland. Their chutneys are so good, their garlic naan perfect, and all of their vegetarian appetizers and entrees are amazing. I usually get yellow daal, malai kofta, daal saag, or saag paneer for my meal. They always include a little container of kheer (rice pudding), and everyone there is super nice. Best Indian food restaurant in Brooklyn!
I was blown away by the decor and amazing hospitality by the staff. Living in Brooklyn, I always craved authentic Indian food. I tried many places around the city, but Indika House is truly a hidden gem! If you are in the area be sure to check them out! And best of all delivery is a charm! Will be definitely coming back for more!
This place has 4.8 stars for a reason!!! As an Indian from NJ, I’ve tried many restaurants in Brooklyn hoping to find great quality Indian takeout. After my meal tonight, I believe I’ve found it. Definitely a bit of an expense, would love to see a dinner or lunch special (sorry if I didn’t see one and they are available options). However it’s worth every penny. Delivery was early. Ordered the Chettinad (non creamy & spicy) and the chicken was succulent and soft. Reminded me of my dad’s homemade curry! The Garlic Naan was buttery and delicious and a great size for one person to have some leftovers, although I definitely ate the whole thing in one sitting. The Raita (god, why is it so hard to find good raita in this city?!) was perfect. We also got the chicken tikka which was not spicy and a bit sweet (but my roommates loved it). You can consider this my love letter to Indika House. Looking forward to ordering here again.
This place is great! I write this as I enjoy reheated cuisine from our wonderful catered dinner from Indika House last night. I had ordered delivery from IH previously for visiting friends and they loved the food. Based on this I asked if they could cater our condo association meeting for a group of 20. It was our first post-Covid meeting so we wanted to do something special as we could all be together, vaccinated. I cant say enough about Ahmed and his staff! They carefully noted our menu (Tandoori Chicken, Rogan Josh, Vegetable Biryani, Paneer Tikka Masala, Assorded Samosas/Pakoras, Naan, Salad, Raita, and Kheer for dessert). ALL dishes met with raves by our group. Ahmed, his daughter and son took care of all details and were punctual with their delivery, giving me ample time to set up. I will DEFINITELY be catering and dining at IH a lot and I highly recommend this wonderful restaurant in BedStuy!!
I was honestly very skeptical at seeing all 5 star reviews, however this food may well be the best Indian food I can find in Brooklyn. We had an order for pick up. The people working are super friendly and above all else, the food is delicious. It’s extremely well seasoned and cooked to perfection. I’ve had so many disappointing Indian take outs and I’m so happy to have finally found this place. Totally worth stopping by or getting delivery!
My partner and i found this place about a year ago and order from them probably once a week. the best saag paneer ive ever had, and delicious chicken tikka masala. we also love the korma and paneer pasanda. the naan is fluffy and fresh, and the different flavors/spices offer some nice variety. we usually call in our order and and pick it up since its cheaper for them and for us, and theyre always super polite and extremely COVID safe.
Best Indian food I’ve tried in Brooklyn. It will definitely be my new go to spot. The food was high quality, great flavors, and good prices. I tried the chicken korma and the butter chicken. The service was really attentive. I also want to note that it’s a family owned business and it shows in how much they care about their food and how they treat their customers.
This is easily some of the best and most delicious Indian food I have ever eaten on the East Coast. I’ve always been disappointed by Indian food in New York but after Indika House I think I’ve found the perfect Indian Restaurant where almost every single thing we’ve ordered has been finger licking good! Everything from the Lamb Biryani to the Mango Lassi to the Chefs Special Lamb Curry and the Kababs are delicious. You can’t go wrong with this place. Must try!
I GOT SICK LAST NIGHT EATING THIS DISGUSTING FOOD! i wish i had ember ordered it. i started throwing up an hour after eating it and today i still am throwing up. i’m about to go to emergency room. freaking dirty place. i had plans today with my bf and now i can go because i’m stuck at home being sick with this food. NEVER AGAIN!!!! i’m gonna sue the restaurant for not cooking the chicken well it’s probably what it was bc it had pink inside. u need to pay for this!!!!
Lamb chops were amazing! Great seasoning. Garlic naan addictive and tasty. Service staff is kind, friendly and just the right amount of service to not over crowd or forget you. Free desert for clearing some young trouble makers and the owner was the sweetest when he didn’t have to be. Only Indian restaurant I’ll eat at in bed study. Much love and future success to this wonderful addition to the neighborhood.
Decent Indian food but very mild and a little overcooked and geared for American taste buds. The marssel leaves potatoes were interesting in a good way (a little like persian khorsht sabzi, sweet and sour green sauce) and the dahls and veg curry were sort of standard, but a little underwhelming. Veg samosas were also pretty solid.
They have a home made spicy onion condiment, it was so good I hardly touched the tamarind sauce which is always a must and one of my favorite flavors. The chicken tikka masala was a good portion and the curry had a good amount of flavor. The garlic naan looks made fresh and is better than those in many other restaurants I’ve visited. Would definitely recommend for dinner as well as for lunch when they have discounted rate.
Really wonderful food. The lunch special was a great deal and the Chicken Tikka Masala was very flavorful. The ambiance was also lovely and the kheer was the best that Ive had in years. The best Indian food around by far. Thanks for the lovely lunch, we will be back frequently.
Probably the best Indian spot in the neighborhood. Portions are huge and service was attentive. Guy that served us seemed genuinely appreciative of our business.Loved that they had chili garlic naan.Garlic cauliflower was on sweeter side but so good and different.Chicken gassi sauce was great, chicken was a bit dry.Saag paneer was really great.Menu is HUGE and a bit overwhelming but excited to come back and try their other dishes.
We’ve ordered from this place twice now, and both times have truly been excellent. The first time we ordered, I completely messed up the order. When I called the restaurant to fix the order, the man on the phone was friendly and helpful (I’m sorry I didn’t get your name!). The orders have arrived quickly and exactly as requested. I can’t recommend this place enough. We can vouch that the palak paneer, paneer tikka masala, naan, and goat house special are all delicious. Will absolutely be ordering again!
Found this restaurant randomly on yelp and wasnt disappointed. The naan was delicious and saag was awesome. My girlfriend bad the vegetarian curry which was very good also. The people working here are very nice and the prices are very fair. Would totally recommend this place and come back

2022-03-03Good lunch special with tons of food. Great deal. Their lamb is boneless unlike most places that give you more bone than meat. Their curries and dals are very tasty, but spicy so if youre intolerant make sure you specify. I go here at least once a week in the workday and often cant finish it. As noted the chicken tikka is too sweet. But its still good.

2022-02-27As an Indian, it’s been tough finding good Indian food in Williamsburg/Bushwick. Had high hopes for this place based on the reviews but this definitely isn’t it. Ordered a Paneer Kati roll and samosa chaat. The Kati roll was wrapped in a tortilla that was undercooked, rather than a paratha/roti. Also the paneer was just insanely dry, and it felt more like a burrito with the amount of lettuce. The samosa chaat was more enjoyable but the proportions were just off and it ended up just being heavy on the chickpeas. I would not recommend this place to others.

2022-06-09This place is still only doing take out. What a surprise. I asked and the gentleman said it was because they don’t have the staff to do more.I opened up my take out order and was instantly happy. I ordered butter chicken and saag paneer and it came w rice and a few sauces on the side. The colors of the food were incredibly vibrant which is always a great sign ordering Indian food. It was so fresh, aromatic and comforting. The butter chicken is glorious. Tender meat and creamy fluffy sauce. The saag was incredibly fresh and verdant green. It was so thick like a paste but delicate and fluffy as well. So many fresh herbs used in the saag and I want to say the paneer is home made but I honestly can’t quite tell. I love it. This is an obvious choice. I spent 30$ on these two items which seemed high but worth every single penny. This food is made w love.

2022-05-16The best Indian food around. I have never been disappointed ordering from here. Other places are always a hit or miss but Indika House never misses.I am South-Asian myself so when I am craving for my moms food, ordering from here gives me the closest taste of home that I can have.Dont waste your time ordering from somewhere else. The flavor and quality of their food cant be beat.

2022-01-30Weve gotten great food from here in the past. We recently placed a Seamless order here, and the delivery person and/or Seamless messed things up in a way that meant Seamless ultimately had to cancel the order. But kudos to Indika House for proactively calling to update us on the issue and trying to resolve it - we appreciated your efforts!

2021-07-20Best food I’ve ever eaten. Beyond exceptions. Greatest Indian restaurant in all of New York maybe even in the country. Truly a amazing restaurant. I’m man of spicy chicken and the chicken they provided truly amazed me, and the soap was so flavoured and good, I’ll always come here for Indian cuisines. God bless those bangles

2020-09-10I made our purchase based on the reviews I saw on Google maps! The individual who wrote these excellent reviews must be related to owner. The only thing we liked was the shrimps 🍤 in the Briyani. The soup was not my cup of tea.The Naan ( my guest favored that). Not me.The rice was to muchNot what I expected at all. I was looking for a taste similar to that of Arga Heights before the good Chef left. When we ate the rice all i could taste was cloves and cardamom seeds. I tried using the condiments that where sent to enhance the flavors but it did not work.Except for the shrimps! The shrimps in the Briyani was well seasoned despite the fact that the rice had an overwhelmingly strong clove taste.

2022-04-07I don’t often leave a 5 star review, but INDIKA HOUSE truly deserves this. The take out deal was extremely worth it! For my appetizer I tried the seekh kebab and it was so scrumptious and full of flavour. The garlic naan was amazing! The mains: the chicken tikka masala melted in your mouth. I also tried the lamb chops and it was just perfectly cooked. I can’t complain about anything. Even better that everything on the menu is 100% halal! I will come here over and over again! Thanks for the hospitality and amazing food!

2022-04-19Best Indian food I have had in New York City, this is the place to be I promise you. The aloo tikki is to die for, cant beat the price as well. I normally do the dinner platter, get an app meal, and bread for under $25. This place is a gem. 10/10 from me

2022-02-12What no one tells u about NYC is that the Indian food scene here overall (outside of queens) is garbage. If you dont know Indian and just get tikka masala every time, you might like this place. But if you have standards: the stews have poor vegetable/stew balance and barely much taste (chana masala should be overflowing w flavor ... all I could taste was the undercooked peas in the mutter paneer), paratha not flakey (or good), and portions pretty small for the prices. This is one of the better places too. Their expansive menu gives promise. The best Indian in Brooklyn (not saying much) remains to be Kitchen Grill.
