Industry City is a nice area with plenty of places to shop and eat. The courtyards are a great place to hang out and spend some time relaxing and eating. The entire area is very cool looking with tons of bright colors and wall murals/decorations. You can easily spend a few hours walking around and eating/shopping around. If you are in the area, definitely check it out!
It definitely is a cool place to go out and have fun. It was my first time there. Because Ive been struggling with a lot on my mind. My niece and her friend wanted to treat me with a day out with them. Industry City which I call it Liberty City because the area reminds me of GTA 4 if anyone who is a gamer knows what Im talking about 😊. But yeah it has a lot of cool art and nice restaurant area selling a variety of foods indoor and outdoor dining, cool shopping areas. Book stores, comic book stores, Even A place that makes all kinds of chocolate. That also reminded me of I Love Lucy when she had to work in the chocolate factory 😂 A Great place to take your family or a date night with your significant other or even just hang out with your friends.😊 ❤️
Great place to come for lunch if you wanna sit outside or with kids so you can eat outside while they play in the outdoor area. Plenty of shaded area to grab coffee or a drink and just relax. The food options are pretty good and some even have daily specials which makes them a good options for a lunch under 10$.
I am impressed of how awesome this place is. We spent all day there and still didnt get to stop by all the shops. There are so much to do there from Japanese village, foodhall, shops, kids outdoor playspace, game arcade space, live music, all the restaurants and bars.We love it and will go back there soon!
I got to give it up to the revitalized area this is in. Thank heavens for this place. Art is in full effect with parties and events, shops and food and drink plus every thing in between. Its right off the water as well. Industry City is a beautiful magical place for your soul ✨
We are talking about what 7-8 Buildings campus worth of walking with different identities. You can pay with cash or an e-payment. I loved my first visit so much. For years I have just casually passed by this place will driving along the highway and didn’t give it any attention. Mistake. Please stop buy, spend a day. Multiple food options and live music. Game room gets packed get there early!!! Absolutely sick space.
This place is great for after-work. Nice music events, they have fire pits when the weather is cold and it does make a difference. We been here with friends, as couples night out and also he had our kids for family day out. Either way is great. The people, the food, the live music! If you go here check the frying pan, best short ribs tacos!!! 😋
*A lot of places in IC. close around 7pm or 9!!-Some take 15mins 0r 30mins breaks!!DOES NOT MEAN THEY ARE CLOSED, even if they have a closed sign!👀👍🏻++There are public Bathrooms Restrooms everywhere, which is awwweeesome😉#ISuggest : #Japanvillage🏮 #udonnoodles 🍜^look for the 2 stalls (Setagaya and the one right nxt to it!) that sell hiroshi buns and fried chicken as sides, cuz theyre delish appetizers👍🏻😉 #daisojapan 🏮 #RenegadesofSunset 😎 #FryingPan #onegirl 🍪 #stmarkscomics 📚💬💥 #bookoff👀👍🏼🇯🇵
They have everything going on at industry city 🌆 car dealership🚗🛻🚐🚙 Brooklyn nets🏀 training facility Amazon Post office coffee ☕ shop frontwater great view 🪟 to Manhattan 🌁🌇🌆🏙️ plenty of parkinglots you have to pay for it...Hospital 🏥 Down the road 🛣️I think this area is one of the oldest in Brooklyn New York🚂 Train 🚄🚅🚆🚇🚈🚉🚋🚞🚃 tracks are still visible underneath the asphalt🛤️I LOVE ❤️NY
I’ve generally been a bit leery of the whole “we just turned this old warehouse into a not-a-mall!” movement that’s been going on for a while now, but Industry City is just so good!Sahadi’s. Oldies. Wormwood. Japan Village. Li-lac Chocolates. Colson Patisserie. Renegades of Sunset. I feel like I’m just scratching the surface of what they have here.
Industry City looks like a place thats best suited for the nightlife. Overall though it has a friendly vibe with plenty of places to shop, eat or relax. I didnt stay too long in the area (primary reason: picking up great for Brooklyns Half Marathon) but overall there are things to like about Industry City. Location isnt the most ideal, but overall not bad
When Im the weather is nice, my kids love to come here. Occasionally the hand sanitizer dispensers may not have hand sanitizer and sometimes the restrooms are unsanitary, but it is for public use. Food can be pricey but its due to the location. Im glad I can come without having to feel obligated to pay for anything. My kids enjoy the open turf and we usually find kids to play with. We enjoy the updates and changes made which come with the seasons and attract people to come visit.
The 10 buildings that make up industry city are old factories or warehouses. They have been connected to cover entire city blocks with courtyards and clean public restrooms. Each courtyard is different and unique as are the businesses in each building. One is a fun food court. We saw a candy shop, a homemade jewelry business, a high end consignment shop and a tattoo parlor. My daughter visited a talented photo grapher.
Love this place, always something new to try for me. I love Japanese village great food and if you want to show they have a mini supermarket for their imported product. Great also for kids they have fake grass areas for the kids to run and play. Great place overall to try new things. If you get there early you can try the bakery, chocolate shops, and all the others, vendors.
Full of a variety of shops and various businesses. Fun pop-up events for small business, like the ACE Pop-Up event this weekend. Had a great time here, really nice to see how they built up this area and made it trendy and fun for anyone to enjoy. Lowkey reminds me of DUMBO district.
Couldn’t ask more a more diversified, but unique location for everything I love. Beer, good food, specialty shops, coffee, everything. Even saw a proposal here. Also love to WFH at Industry City. Grab a coffee or beer, maybe lunch from the food hall, and chill in one of the seating areas. Can’t beat the FLO EV charger on-location either!
Great spot on a nice day or evening. I love the freedom of being able to take your food and drink (even alcoholic) and carry it outside and sit at any chair or table in the greenery. The tables outside are sharred between all of the restaurants and are first come first serve. Sunday night was very open and we had no problem getting a table for 15 gathered together for few drinks and snaks.
Reminds me of San Francisco ..very hipstery bohemian kinda of place ..love the vibes...the huge, open, and tastefully designed courtyards of these 4 or 5 buildings interconnecting to each other is what makes these shops so outdoorsy yet so indoor.. a must visit if you are in sunset park area of Brooklyn.
A very interestingly developed concept. Bunch of buildings connected together with common areas between them for outdoor seating and activities. Food court in one building and other restaurants spread out in adjoining buildings. Outlet furniture and carpet stores spread out.
In an era when malls are being torn down, someone decided to put a pretentious paint job on a building that should have been demolished and turned it into a mall. Its a poorly planned mess of former factory/Warehouse buildings.Located off the highway, it is most easily accessed by car -in a city where no one drives- but lacs convenient or adequate parking. Most stores offer superior locations that are more easily accessible in other areas of town.Visiting is a frustrating experience and most shoppers seem miserable and anxious to find what theyre looking for and leave. Its a miserable place
Has a great variety of stores and a few places to eat: bakeries, bars, avocaderia, etc! They even have an arcade and Japanese supermarket. Things are restricted now because of COVID but the atmosphere is very lively and appealing to the eye. I love taking pictures and hanging out with friends there.
I LOVE Industry City!! I was here on a date and there were two separate free live music shows in the gorgeous courtyards lit up with string lights. Pretty dang romantic actually! It got a little chilly later on in the evening so we had a seat by the firepit.Great drink and food options all over the whole complex. You can get basically anything you would want here!
This place is huge! We came here on a Friday evening and on a Sunday afternoon. We were disappointed both times because it’s hard to get the hours of everything because many of the restaurants and stores have different hours although the buildings themselves have set hours. So you really have to go at the right time during the week if you want to be able to visit every boutique and scope out every restaurant option. This place is huge and you would expect a lot more restaurants and boutiques as well. I would come back here again to try and explore the places I wasn’t able to because they were closed. But still a great place and I highly recommend checking it out
Love what theyve done to Industry City, wouldve never thought Bush Terminal would look like this ! Theyve painted all the buildings, this alone gives it such a cleaner look. Now with all thats going on with the businesses its such a fabulous place to spend a couple hours walking around to see the shops, vendors & eateries. Also nice having Sahadis put on Saturday early evening Jazz, large open space where you can sit enjoy the music with a glass of wine !! So much going on here, do yourself a favor & check it out !!
Wow! Just wow! Brooklyns best kept secret! Food court has amazing selections. Forget about the crowds at Sahadis on Atlantic and head to its Sunset Park location! Industry City is multiple buildings, some with multiple floors. Spend a day exploring! You wont be sorry.
Nicely used space to house many different types of business from furniture to wine shops to a flea market along with a small version of Smorgasburg. The restaurants offer a wide variety of cuisines from pizza to sandwiches to Asian specialties. Great place to visit on a weekend while in Brooklyn.
Recently went to IC for the first time and I loved it! The food was delicious and the atmosphere was awesome. They had a bunch of lights up in addition to heaters outside. Everyone that worked there was pleasant and very eager to please. Cant wait to go back in the summer when its much warmer [it was late January and 28° outside!] .. and get to spend more time there 😊
Industry City is always a great destination for me to get creatively inspired, taste some interesting foods from all over the world, look into the windows of the artisans, hunt for furniture bargains, or get a special drink to enjoy in one of the many courtyard setting. One of my absolute favorite outdoor sculpture is the iron work gas fire place, outside Sahadi’s (Winter 2020/21). What a great piece. Go visit.
Great place to hang out. We were visiting Ikea in the morning and had lunch here at Japan Village. Its about 6 minutes from Ikea. There are plenty of food and shops here to visit, such as Design Within Reach, Restoration Hardware...and you can get you essential next door and Costco and Petco.
Industry City is a creative complex with shops, bars and restaurants. It offers special events and workshops. The place has recently opened, and has great potential to become another city hub, with a subway ride from Manhattan. During this soft opening phrase, many stores and restaurants are still get ready. There are many coming soon indicators. Definitely will check that out again in a few months.
We came here for a festival Crafts In Focus New York this May to take part in a workshop. Those ranged from leather work to stone carving, metal work and suminagashi, Japanese marbling of textiles and paper.I was very excited about the workshop but very apprehensive about taking public transportation on a Saturday morning into Brooklyn. Besides, I wasnt sure how far it would be from the subway. In reality, despite the trains weekend service, we arrived there on time, and the walk from the D/N/R stop 36th street to the place was mere 2 blocks.Judging from the name Industrial City, I expected large spaces in an unwelcoming manufacturing type neighborhood with questionable goo that would pass for coffee.Nothing really prepared me for what I saw.The buildings, resembling giant sleepers, were thoughtfully numbered with huge bangers. Meaning, I didnt have to search long for the particular address, I saw the numbers a block away! They can be walked through the middle. Once there you can building hop. From what I gathered, they were remade into modern spaces with super welcoming, buzzing with excitement atmosphere of high tech, craft and good food.Part of the building 238 was a multitude of small cafes and other delicious food stuffs. The outdoor space to sit and enjoy the food was in between the buildings. We didnt get to explore spaces other than the workshop, but walking through I saw families, people with dogs in tow and in general a very busy and engaged crowd. The space we were directed to was a huge gallery, obviously a former manufacturing space. Now it was all white, shiny and full of light (a sunny day didnt hurt either). All the workshops were in the same space, which was an advantage and a drawback. We walked through and checked out those we didnt sign up for. I wish we could gave stayed for the Japanese rock wrapping workshop. For our workshop we all sat around one large table, our instructor Natalie had to really be loud to be heard because of the background noise. Many visitors, it was free to just walk and look, stopped by our table. While some of the presenters seemed to have come from Denmark, our instructor was local and teaching at the Textile Arts Center, right here in New York City.Overall I discovered a new fascinating place for myself, Industrial City, and would love to come back to spend the day checking out their other events, which they seem to have no shortage of...
Turning what used to be a bunch of derelict warehouses into hipster central, industry city is the newest place to be if you want to get an injection of Japanese snacks, udon noodles, get artisanal coffee, or shop at Restoration Hardware outlet all within ten minutes walking area.Watch out when you cross the street from one building to another. Large trucks regularly fly through the street as they load and unload cargo. While the site received a makeover, Im still wary of the thick layers of industrial paint that remain from its original use. I wouldnt let my kids play here for too long without a thorough washing of their hands. Supervise your kids to make sure theyre not picking at the paint chips.Parking can be quite dangerous if you are looking for a spot on 3rd Avenue. Lots of high speed traffic will drive past you or through you if youre not careful with signaling and swerving.
Redevelopment of a series of warehouse to house food food halls, small grocery market, bars, boutiques, big box retailers, and a lot of open space. Street parking was pretty easy to find on the weekends the few times I visit the area but Im told that its much harder on the weekdays. There is a paid parking lot along the back. The food is not all that special but its decent and not overly expensive. The space is kid-friendly and designed for families to come and enjoy. Theres no real flow to the area so it might be difficult to find things but they have maps posted throughout the complex.
This is one of the best plazas I’ve been to; relatively accessible via metro and cars, due to the highway nearby, cheap, and it has a boat dock nearby. With takeaway, as well as entire Japanese cuisine section, and a great selection of home goods stores, this place has recently become a must need for me as a new home owner.
Huge area with multiple buildings with lots of food and things to do. The only negative is that the food places and most of the non food places close around 5pm. The Japan market village stays open until 8pm. There is metered and street parking and the area is only 15 minutes from Manhattan. Check it out if youre in the area.
Has plenty to do to entertain your little ones! We spent a few hours here, my almost 4 year old played in the pebbles and climbed boxes, the summer stage area, the sandbox, the grassy knoll she kicked a ball around, we shopped around and listened to some nice live jazz music.
Industry City is one of the coolest places in Brooklyn that most people have heard of but not taken the time to make the trip. It’s is full of great places: a huge food court, Japan Village, Sahadi’s, a brewery, several designer furniture outlets and newly constructed upstairs shops. Don’t forget about their summer concert series, free yoga, Hygge tent, and sample sales. If you haven’t been yet, set aside an afternoon. You’ll be thrilled that you did.
Came here to see the newly opened Japan Village. Never been here before that, but i have to add that this place is fantastic. Its really an industrial shopping mall full of food, cafes, and shops. Really nice place to take a date, kiddos, or family. Theres a little but of everything, llay areas, furniture, food! Definitely a must see if nearby, cant believe i hadnt been here before.
When I worked at the World Trade Center for a company called Dataport located on the B2 (Basement level 2) just under World Trade Center #5 our company had a floor in 2 of Bush Terminals Buildings which was building #6 on the 6th floor and at the biggest building located at i believe it was 148 -38th st also on the 6th floor and at both of those locations we had hardcopy storage and now today 4/27/22 I went to see how the neighborhood and my former workplace is and the biggest building is the nets building so Ive been told and shown and building #6 and all the other buildings with those are all office spaces for what Ive been told and shown so it all looks great for what Ive seen so Im sure that our company is no longer there because I did check the tenants directory and no Dataport so maybe they moved out before or after the world trade center situation or they were evicted Im not sure but 👉 Thats Business 👈
Loveeee this place, the architecture, the vibes, the stores, the food spots, the art, the walk... Everytime you come here you’ll see it looks different. There are many different options for food, very safe, great atmosphere, innovational, iconic, cool place to go when in Brooklyn!
This area is good but it could and should be better. Dont get me wrong, I like it here but it just needs a bit more to make it more useful to everyone. The outdoors space are very good but there should be a few designated areas that offer shade on those hot summer sunny days. Not everyone is a sun worshiper, like myself speaking. Sure some buildings give you shade but that just takes away from being able to move around. Plus you want to have outdoor views and not just be indoors all day. The lightning at night just adds to these open spaces and make it fun for groups of two or more. The food court is very nice but with a few flaws, one was I needed few more choices. Need that international feeling to pick from. Plus not everyone wants to share space together. Once again I dont mind meeting new people, who can become future friends in sharing those big tables. Its just that, everyone doesnt feel like I do. I went over to a table with 5 people and wanted a bit of room for 2 and was looked at like we had two heads each. Movable chairs can improve that situation but thats just my opinion. The shops already in place add good vibes but for me, it needs a bit more. Im sure theyll come in due time. Some just hope sooner and not later. All in all, I do recommend this location for things to do as an activity date. There is something for everyone to enjoy this space for any occasions.
Industry City is like the Brooklyn version of Chelsea Market. Similar vibes and also a wide variety of vendors to choose from in this large space. The space is large enough for events, festivals and conferences too. It is a lot of fun with cool nooks for amazing Insta pics! We spent the whole day in Industry City and our tummies were happy too.
About 45 minutes from Manhattan, but it’s easy to get there. Take the subway express D train and ride to 36th Street Brooklyn. From there it’s only 5 minutes walk. Industry City is great for all type of weather as it combines indoor and outdoor activities. Many photo opportunities there and the Japanese Village is like a short trip to Japan. I was so excited to see all the Japanese treats in one place! Also, if you are looking for a healthy and tasty brunch, Avocadoria is the place to go (located on building 2)
Great place for some light food and snacks. I enjoy coming to industry city, mostly during summer hours when they have salsa socials at the court yard. Piel Canela Latin dance studio hosts the socials, teacher teaches basic salsa moves and live music band plays the music till 6pm. In addition, they have student performance. After that, you are free to dance with whoever you want. I do want to say the population is more towards the older generation, but very respectful. Beside that, you will find kids playground , mini golf.... summer breeze and watch a nice sunset.
At first we went for the restroom (free and clean!) but then the ambiance, style and organisation of the space were really great. We had a little craving for muffin and went to one girl cookie ! I really recommend the banana chocolate chip vegan muffin as it was most, soft and crunchy on top! It was so good I could have eaten the little paper cup!
Awesome place for shopping, foodies, and family. There are a ton of shops ranting from houseware to furniture to vintage clothes and groceries. There are so many food options, so many ethnic choices, so yummy. Plenty of bars and with more coming. There are plenty of safe spaces for children to play.
There is some controversy regarding how the development of Industry City May affect the surrounding neighborhoods of Sunset Park and Greenwood.Beyond the controversy, IG is bringing great shows, music and entertainment to an area otherwise dominated by big box retailers. The entire premise of IG is elitist and race and class segregationist, but other than that the Japanese food is great.

2022-05-27Industry City is awesome. My family, friends, and I visit often. Japan Village is one of my favorite spots. They have a gaming room for kids, ice skating in the winter, and other events for children year round just check out their website. They have a book store and many different shops one can easily spend the day here which is nice when its rainy outside. Night life is cool too, they have a live band that plays and the bars are open. Great ambience and safe space. Love love love industry city!

2022-02-28Cool place to walk around! Check out stores on the second floor too! Ice rink was less crowded for the 4-5 & 5-6 when I was there. A bit pricey for an hour, and quite small… good to check out for kids.

2022-03-29Totally marvelous set of buildings with an incredible food selection, cool shops, and intriguing work spaces. I loved visiting during a stretch of cold weather when the fireplaces were turned on. Really great family-friendly environment too. If I had to describe this place, I’d say it was a outdoor mall for millennials. It’s so so so so fun. You should definitely check it out.

2022-02-12There is plenty of shops, cafes, places to eat and hang out here. Nice area indeed. Love the murals, art, and inviting decorations. Parking around here is horrendous though. I honestly came here to ice skate. But there is no more iceskating here...I guess only for the holiday season. But its a small park now im between the buildings, so still nice to come and hang out here. Theres space heaters around.Several warehouses were transformed to a this center for shopping and events. Great cafes and bars here. Definitely recommend to come, walk around and hang out here.

2021-11-15Pretty cool to visit and explore. Several former warehouses transformed to a shopping center with local artist shops and dining. Several indoor coffee shops and bars so a nice place for a date. Small outdoor outdoor park in between the buildings offer a place for kids to hang out a bit. The upper floors are for office places, not so much for visiters. Check out the game room.

2022-02-22Industry City is the most coolest place in Brooklyn. If someone try to go there, they need to know how to enter their because from outside side it’s looks as normal as others places but inside is really cool.

2022-05-24Came here for an event, but in general I love the setup! Its several blocks of indoor/outdoor shops, restaurants, seating areas, and the occasional stage for music or mini play area for the little ones. Definitely somewhere you could spend a few hours. We will be back with friends at a future date!

2022-02-15Plenty of things to do and eat. Great for families, just friends, or lovers. We visited the game room which was simple but offered us 40 minutes of fun after we ate some waffles by building 5. Check it out, make sure to keep the official website open and handy so you can navigate towards what you may be interested in.

2022-04-07I love the concept of various interconnected building which are utilized for artisans and artists as an atelier and Boutique mixed with food, retail and entertainment offers. However, one really needs to be there between Wednesday and Sunday. We wer there on a Tuesday a lot of places were not open or closed early.Other than that, it is interesting and an experience. The spaces between the buildings offer seating areas, fire pits, Boccia tracks, etc.
