I had the pleasure of staying at Inness over the weekend with two of my best friends. We continuously remarked at how perfect of a getaway Inness is. The property is stunning and might be one of the most unique hotels I’ve stayed at. Throughout the weekend, I kept reminding myself that the hotel is only an hour and forty five minutes from New York City. It was the perfect reset button for all of us! Overall, our stay was amazing and we are already planning to come back with our husbands at the beginning of November. The staff were incredible and so friendly. Not only that, but the property is amazing! Id recommend Inness without hesitation!

Absolutely beautiful property! We stayed in the smaller of the cabin options and had PLENTY of space. Clean and every detail was appreciated in the aesthetics. It was quiet and peaceful with a beautiful view. I didn’t realize until we got there that it is a pet friendly establishment. This happened to equate to dogs everywhere. Yes they were all well behaved and on leashes but dogs at the restaurant, bar and kitchen is just not okay. This place needs to have pet free common areas for people with pet allergies, in particular the eating areas. In addition to pet free eating areas, there needs to be pet free accommodations, I shouldn’t have to be woken up by the attached cabin’s 3 dogs in the morning. Excellent service by the staff and the restaurant’s food and drinks were delicious. Really would give 5 stars if it weren’t for the dog issues.

We went during likely they coldest quietest month there and were still blown away at the location, the design, our cabin and the overall chill and non-pretentious vibe. We cant wait to come in the summer and use all the outdoor amenities. The most serene and relaxing place - food in restaurant was also too notch. Thank you for an amazing stay.

Restaurant experience review only:Inness is such a beautiful place- they’ve done an incredible job curating the aesthetic and the restaurant is beautiful. At this point, inness’ identity is starting to skew towards family and dog friendly. When it first opened, it seemed like a great place for cocktails and dinner- maybe even for a semi high end lunch. The menu is expensive but the experience of the place would make it worthwhile. But I recently took friends for dinner and there were young children running and screaming around the outdoor dining area- throwing rocks at each other and having a play. There were so many dogs and those dogs didn’t necessarily get along with each other. There were even little piles of gravel mixed with trash that kids had built in their adventures by the sunset chairs. If you’re expecting a high end experience catered to adults, I think it might be hit or miss. This is more like a high end experience catering to families and pets. It’s not a bad thing; for many of you that might be a selling point.I’m giving it three stars because for the price and my personal preferences, I expected a different experience.

I tried their restaurant for a Sunday brunch, service and food were good and the place was already packed. I wish they had their full menu available but i guess Ill have to come back for dinner. The property looks amazing even on a rainy day in march and I will certainly come back for the rest of the resort. The shop is detached from the main building and built like a greenhouse, worth a stop.On a side note, the parking is huge but you might find muddy spots around so dress accordingly if it rains!

Im pretty sure this place is having some growing pains. The concept is very good but they are definitely struggling with a few key items. For one, they need to pave the road to the cabins and the restaurant. We inquired ahead of our stay about the ground conditions and were informed that it was all gravel, which wasnt true at all. The remainder of the snow was melting this past weekend and the grounds, parking lot, and roads were full of mud. You have to use their transportation from the parking lot to the cabin because you can not see a thing if you were to walk. They have a lantern in the room which we used for reading and doubt it would do much good in the pitch dark. The jeep for transportation was full of mud and because they accept pets, there were muddy paw prints all over the seats. The lighting in the cabins is practically non existent so if you plan on reading bring a flashlight or a nook with a light. The cabin is minimalistic, which we have no problem with, beautiful towels and robes. We came back to our cabin at the end of Saturday to wet towels and an unmade bed....perhaps a communication problem about wanting fresh towels. They claim they arent making up the rooms because of covid which could be accurate, but we expected they would freshen up the room. Now for the restaurant...beautiful environment but the food was nothing to brag about, especially the trout, which I dont recommend. Staff was very accommodating and friendly.Oh, breakfast was great, in the farmhouse and help yourself. All in all, we got away for the weekend. I would say I personally wouldnt go back simply because we like to try different places but if I did go back, I would wait till its a well oiled machine.

Lovely place, pristine rooms and beautiful backdrop. The farmhouse was a really beautiful place to have breakfast, and the breakfast was superb! The restaurant is also delicious. Gorgeous property all-around. A bit short staffed but I know that comes with opening pains and Im sure its tough to find FT service workers up there.FYI -- they do not require proof of vaccination to dine at the restaurant. Basically got a sarcastic wink when I asked if they wanted to see proof of vaccination and the host jokingly said you can show it to me if you want to? weird.

The good: incredible food at the restaurant. The new chef who came a few months ago make world level pasta. You have to try ! ( We didnt try the other dishes). The style is fun, the view is stunning. Some of the service is great ( bell boys, waiters, etc). The not so good: the room is Manhattan size. They crammed 12 rooms inside the hotel where I think they should have put 6. They have so much land ! We go to the Catskills for space and quiet, not to hear people snore in the next room over. Also the bathrooms shower ends up spilling a lot on the floor, the bathroom is practically in the bedroom, there is no privacy in the toilet... Anyway. WE NEED SPACE. I recommend if they need $500 per room and 12 rooms for them to just build another building. They have so much space ! ( We didnt try the cabins, they seem a little better from the pictures). Also, and less important but still important: there are no signs for anythingReception ? no sure, drive around until somebody comes out to stop you and help. Restaurant main entrance ? Its one of those 4 doors, not sure which one. We took the wrong one and were chastised that we ended up in the kitchen area and we didnt go in through the main door ... but they look all the same and have 0 signs. And from the hotel to the main lodge, there seems to be a path, in fact 3 of them. Take the asphalt one, the other ones ... dont go to the lodge, I mean its fun to get lost around a little but not if you dont want to get lost.I dont understand this sign phobia.

We stayed from 7/1-7/4 for 4th of July holiday.I am an interior architect/designer so I thought that it’s worth to visit to check it out.Beautiful views, nice architectural details and cute black cabins. Well landscape planning throughout. It’s a bit annoying to ride a vehicle to go to other areas from the cabin but it’s understandable as that is a part of concept.I would give 5 starts to the restaurant. Good service and perfect food. However, the general service and hospitality were just awful and they will have to work on it.1 star for checking in in the hot glass house with no A/C. They dont even offer the cold ice water to welcome. The front desk people and manager at the glass house have some weird attitude. Not friendly at all. They must be already annoyed because the glass house is just too hot. Worst greeting. After one night, we requested to arrange the bed sheet and clean the cabin while we were gone. We came back to the cabin around mid night. Hairs on the bathroom floor, garbages in the bin and dirty dishes were not clean at all. I had to complain and request the another cleaning next morning. No apologies but asked me ‘did you really ask to the front desk to clean the room?’ 0 star for cleaning and service. In the website it doesnt say anything about the bathroom in the cabin. The walk in shower room in the bathroom has no curtain or glass wall to divide the wet and dry floor to the toilet. The entire bathroom floor got wet after we showered. The honed marble floor with water became so slippery. We had two years old toddler who almost fell on the floor. Thank god we held his hand during the entire time of his shower. The pool was nice. No tube is allowed except the vest type. It’s a bit far away from the restaurant. No drink is available unless you call to the front desk to order something. This hotel has so many beautiful characters and it’s really well designed but general hospitality and smile service should be definitely improved.
