Unless you have ever tried to negotiate at a dealership yourself and, of course, got totally ripped off, you cannot value Tommys service high enough. Saving you the hassle from being passed from sales manager to finance manager back and forth alone is worth his fee. Tommy not only saves you time but real money. Instead of returning my old vehicle coming off lease he sold it for $4,000 profit - the check was mine to keep. This was possible thanks to the current strong market in used cars. The other side of the coin was, of course, the extremely limited inventory at dealerships. But there, too, he found a great deal. The only thing the dealer will try to talk you into is a maintenance plan. You politely decline, sign the papers, and drive off. Wonderful experience.
I have been in the sales business for 20+ years and always negotiated all my car leases until I finally gave into my brothers pressure to try Tommy at Inside Car Buying to negotiate my next lease. 9 + leased cars later I will NEVER do the negotiating myself again. This is the first time I used Tommy for my new Porsche Macan. There is nothing worse than negotiating a lease for a new car. Somehow this corner of the market is still opaque and you need to shop around and negotiate for the best deal. Tommy cut through all of the nonsense and was able to save me ~$150 off of my monthly lease payment. Over 39 months that is real money. That alone would have been enough to justify Tommys cost, but what I didnt even realize is that he handles everything up until I picked up the car at the dealer. What a bargain. I will be using Tommy to handle all of my car leasing from here on out.

Everyone loves getting a new car. Just about everyone dreads the new car buying experience… that is, unless you use Tommy and his crew. Tommy removes everything you hate from the process – dealing with pushy sales people and even pushier sales managers, and being left to wonder whether you got a good deal or got screwed. He also saves the buyer a tremendous amount of time that ordinarily would be spent researching prices, visiting dealers, and sitting with sales people to negotiate a number and have it blessed by the sales manager. Highly recommend! On the way to the dealership to lease my first car, I ordered Tommys DIY Dealer Report, which gives the best deal available on a specific car. Within minutes, I got the report via email. It told me the best price for the car (about $3,000 lower than what the dealer first offered), what lease terms and fees were negotiable, and how much profit the dealer would make off me. I used that info to negotiate a great deal right around the price listed in the report. The dealer report makes the process transparent and gives the buyer confidence that they are striking a good deal with the dealership.

There’s nothing I dread more than sitting in a dealership for hours while the salesperson tries to upsell, and only to end up leaving with a bad deal or no deal at all. With the Hire the Expert Negotiator service, we discussed our desired payment, built the car exactly to our specifications, and all we did was walk in, sign the paperwork, and drive away in our new Wrangler. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE!!! See below for a real step by step guide to car buying- hey I beat this service by over $1500 (not counting extra options I didn’t want so refused to pay for). When you beat his price he calls and yells at you- when he bothers to get back to you at all. And he threatens to post your personal information on the internet- name, address, phone number, email- so much for class and business ethic protecting your customers. That’s information he received in good faith and who knows what he’s going to do with it and where he’s going to post it!! This shows a complete lack of consideration for the customers that were hoping he could get better prices than I could find through research. It also shows a complete lack of class. These reports are supposed to help you comparison shop-of course. However even when you beat his price by **thousands**,he won’t actually refund your whole purchase price because “you didn’t buy both cars did you?” No kidding!! 99% of people are buying A car, not multiple cars. He says his company does over 400 of these a month so why not actually have a positive attitude and refund the transaction? Plus in all honesty he doesn’t do much work to get good pricing. Certainly nothing you can’t get with a little internet research. His DIY reports are all of 10 lines long and contain prices that anyone could get AND he doesn’t honor his refund policy when I beat his price by $1500! First he just ignored my emails requesting refund. Then he wanted not just the sales contract (which is all per the website you need for a DIY report refund) but he wanted the window sticker and my finance agreement too. Then he tried to say it wasn’t technically “new” because it has 487 miles on it- the car was hard for the dealership to find with my exact options so it was driven from Annapolis MD to Buffalo NY- 420 total miles. Then he wouldn’t actually refund the entire DIY purchase price because I didn’t buy the 2 cars I was comparing. This is absolutely ridiculous and having to go through this much aggravation is more of a pain than the dealership was!************So TRULY DIY guide—-if you want to do this yourself, you don’t need this insidecar buying service. Just go to each dealership with a number in mind and don’t compromise. Tell them you’re not a car person and buying and negotiating is a huge pain so you’re just not going to do it. Tell them you’re not going back and forth, no negotiation. You make them an offer based on the information below and a dealership will absolutely sell you a car for less than invoice. Tell them that you’re going to test drive several cars from different dealerships and give each dealership a number. Or you can say “look, I know you can easily sell cars below invoice and without dealer fees because of hold back and reserves. So just give me your truly best price and if it matches with what I find on the internet then we have a deal, but if not then we’re done. Don’t waste your afternoon arguing with salespeople. It’s also always best to work directly with the owner or sales manager. Whoever accepts your offer, that’s the car you buy.What you should know....-find the invoice price, edmunds is far better than kelly blue book- even at invoice price the dealership still has built in profits in the form of hold backs and reserve. So subtract 5-10% of the MSRP. That’s their built in pure profit.-Don’t pay any dealership fees. No destination fees etc. You have to pay any state fees and state taxes, dmv fees but absolutely nothing else.-Don’t pay destination fees no matter where they find the car they sell you and dont pay for options you don’t want. Just say to them “I don’t want those options so you can feel free to remove them but I’m not paying for something I don’t want”.- Always be prepared to walk away. You should walk away the first day. Tell them you’re going to go drive the chevy, nissan, lexus whatever and they can email you their rock bottom offer. Make sure you constantly say “no negotiations”-it’s really not that difficult to get a below invoice price.

2021-09-18Im on my 6th car through Tommy. On top of mine, my dad has gotten two cars from him and I have referred many friends to Tommy.. Simply put, Tommy will get you the best deal by far! Not only that, if there are any complexities around getting rid of your current car as part of the deal, Tommy has many connections who can take that car off your hands. I love not having to deal with dealerships directly. With Tommy, he makes an appointment for you to pick up your car, changes over the insurance for you and you are in and out of the dealership in an hour. It is the easiest way to buy a car and the best part is you also get the best deal. Total no-brainer to use Inside Car Buying!
