Lately was keep craving for something sweet and today I was too. I was thinking about getting ice cream or cookies in the end I choose insomnia cookies.I have heard about insomnia cookies through a friend but never tried it until NOW.I got the 6 pack of cookies which was $11.25 I believe. I got snickerdoodle, double chocolate chunk, M&M, spicy hot cocoa ×2. I havent tried my cookies yet but my friend got his deluxe triple chocolate chunk which he said it was SUPER SOFT and that he really liked it.I love cookies, if my friend liked his chocolate chunk cookie then I probably wouldnt be disappointed with my cookies that I have chosen.The store was pretty small which it doesnt have too many seatings. People just come in buy it and get out.They also sell ice cream along with milk. If the cookies I got was good will definitely keep returning for more.Overall it was a great experience with the person who was at the front taking my order. See you soon Happy Holiday.
I keep trying to give this place a chance but after another delivery disappointment Im done. My order (6 cookies) placed online had still not arrived after an hour and 15 minutes so I called. Their calls are routed to TENNESSEE so the customer service agent now has to put me on hold and call the shop. She returns to tell me the shop is CLOSED, 30 minutes prior to the closing time posted on the website. She offered to cancel the order and e-mail a coupon for a free replacement so I chose that. The coupon was indeed for 6 free cookies WITH ANOTHER PURCHASE and only usable online which has already failed. Bye Insomnia Cookies.
Looking for a late night snack and stumbled across this location based on the OK reviews. By far the worst customer experience the young lady behind the counter was rude and not helpful at all. She was condescending and didnt want to be bothered with any questions. I asked for 2 ice cream sandwiches and i end up getting the top with one type cookie and the bottom with a different one???? I explained to her once again I wanted to order 2 ice cream sandwiches and she had an attitude and charged me for an additional cookie in which she messed up with the order. The desserts were really delicious but the service was HORRIBLE. Hire people that want to work with customers because clearly she seemed annoyed.
Went in around midnight one night. It was pretty busy and waited for a few minutes to order.The cookies were SO GOOD. We ordered a six pack and two pints of ice cream.The cookies were still warm when we got them back to our hotel.Wish we would have gone back before our vacation was over.
Went to store, specifically asked for a 6 pack an an extra cookie. Staff took time to tell me its extra for the special cookie I understood an paid only to reach home to find out in my box I was charged an did not receive the special cookie... pay more attention. I will be returning for my refund for sure.
Have been going here for years. Always been super satisfied. That being said, 1)the cookies were way too crunchy the last several visits. They used to be soft & gooey. Please go back to the way they used to be made! 2) When I was in there yesterday struggling to extract $1 bills from my purse to pay for my purchase, the teenager behind the counter admonished me for throwing money at him. By the way, both hands are wrapped in black tape & clearly crippled from arthritis. I pointed this out to him & thanked him for his compassion. He reiterated that he thought I wads throwing $ at him. I know that being a kid means that the world only exists for how it impacts you, but if you are going to be in customer service you probably need to get out of your own way & take a hot second to notice what others are dealing with.
Been twice and only good options were ice cream and ice cream cookie sandwiches. Cookies are ok/average. Service was also not so great when I went. Unless Levains is closed don’t see why someone would come here.

In all honesty, the banana pudding is the reason why I have such a positive view of Magnolia Bakery and seek it out every time Im in the city. Though I havent had it very often, Ive already developed such a connection that I will feel like Im missing something if I dont get my hands on some pudding before I leave NYC. I dont think I can even articulate exactly what makes the pudding perfection, but Ill try. First off, if you are a giant sweet tooth like I am, this bread pudding will definitely hit the spot. Sweet but not sickly sweet. In addition, there is a perfect amount of chunkiness in the pudding from the actual bananas and bread (maybe Nilla Wafers) mixed into the pudding. The texture is light and fluffy, and every bite just melts in your mouth. I adore this bread pudding.So it may sound like the bread pudding is enough to make Magnolia Bakery a bombing 5 stars, but I had to take off a star for the price and environment of this particular location. Located inside Grand Central, its always so crowded and a bit disorganized. Also, containers of bread pudding start at $3.50 and just go upwards from there, making it not the cheapest dessert to grab. I have bought cupcakes here as a birthday gift for a friend, and they charged me extra for a pretty plain-looking gift box and ribbon, which was a little frustrating. Unfortunately, I didnt try the cupcakes for myself, but boy, did they look scrumptious! I will have to treat myself to another dessert in the Magnolia Bakery collection at some point.So yes, its pricey and crowded, but if youre looking at trying the banana pudding, its definitely worth it. You wont regret that $6 for a large. I know I never do.

Insomnia Cookies makes the best cookies in the world. They are warm and soft when they come out every single time. I have never ever once been disappointed coming here even if its at 1 a.m.
Small little shop. Barely enough standing room for a line. Definitely no seating space. I ordered a cookie cake a few hours in advanced for pick up and got there and it wasnt ready. The staff was kind and apologetic and it looked and tasted delicious.
I came in around 11:30pm on a Thursday and was disappointed that they were out of all but three types of cookies. I wound up having a chocolate chunk and it was fine, but to not have a fully-stocked selection or at least a large one on an off night? Weird.
I have been to Insomnia cookies a couple of times while frequenting the bars on the UWS. The cookies are always fresh and delicious. The staff is always smiling and happy. It is a good place to go to get a quick and inexpensive sugar fix. As the name suggests, they are only open at night and into the wee hours of the morning.
These have to be hands down the best cookies in all 5 boroughs. They are moist , chewy and just amazing crazy delicious. So tasty, have not had a better cookie anywhere else!
Every time Ive ordered online my cookies have come more than an hour and a half late. The cookies are delicious, gooey, and would be warm if they arrived on time; but unpredictable delivery makes it not worth the trouble.

I was kicked out of the store before I could order. The girl behind the counter said this is a kosher establishment and the soda I was holding wasn’t allowed in there. Really?? I’ve never heard of such a thing. What would make a soda not kosher? Is that even legal? And as a non Jew how would I know any of this? Obviously I’ll be going to levain from now on.
Horrible horrible staff. We were there at 12:00am... this place is open well beyond that. There was no line during this time. The customers in front of us kept order things, and were told that every one of their selections was out of stock (they were there for ice cream). The cashier was nothing but rude to them, hardly acknowledged them, lacked a personality, and just didnt give a F. This is New York though, so thats expected, but sheesh.... at a cookie shoppe? Couldnt she have saved us the energy and listed out what they DID have? Much like she failed to do for the previous customer. FINALLY, another staffer informed that they only had 2 flavors left.... sugar cookie and snickerdoodle. We got 6 and 6 for our group. Yes, overpriced. Way overpriced. The cookies (sugar and snickerdoodle) were disgusting. They left a horrific oily after taste, and even left a grease stain on a carryout box I placed one on while eating. This stain was a puddle of oily grease!!! So gross! Im all about chewy cookies, but damnnn.. gross concoctions here. I dont understand this place.. with a name like INSOMNIA cookies, wouldnt they be better prepared to serve a late night crowd? TERRIBLE terrible terrible. Wish we could have forgiven the rude cashier and tried other flavors...
Staff was very friendly, cookies are delicious and so was the ice cream. 3 barstools are available along with a 2-seater block. Would come again to visit even for a late night snack
I really enjoyed shopping in this store. We got some olive oil...some vinegar...and samples of their amazing sopressata and mozzerella. Wow. Delicious. They have a terrific selection of cheeses - which I have been desperately searching for in Astoria ever since I moved here. Everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful. I skipped a little down the street after walking out. I cant wait to go back and try something new!
It gets a bit crammed but my friends can always rely on Insomnia to feed our 3 AM cravings whenever we have a sleepover. Their cookies are so gooey and delicious, and they deliver too!

Ahhh man the cookies are soooooo good, a lil expensive, but who cares when you get them cookies.. can be a lil crowded with tourist at times as well so go there anytime between 8pm-10pm to miss the crowds.

2022-05-15Insomnia cookies are a spot and hit the spot! Great staff and fresh cookies. They were attentive to us and got us the right combo they needed despite being busy with deliveries. They acknowledged us right away and we’re fresh and tasty. Definitely should stop in if you need a late night dessert. 🍪 😎

My favorite is the White Chocolate Macadamia cookie.Cookies here are a bit pricey but worth it if you have a major sweet tooth and need a craving fix. The box of 6 is the perfect serving to get a sample of all their best cookies.Service is quick and friendly. Just don’t get stuck behind a newbie that doesn’t know the cookie flavors or names.

2022-04-12Insomnia cookies always delivers phenomenal that taste incredible and come quickly. The customer service is also great-- a duplicate order due to the app crashing went through and they helped make sure we werent double charged and the cookies were unreal. My go-to midnight snack.

2022-05-06My first time having Insomnia Cookies, I came here late night with my daughter to get some cookies, upon arrival all most the entire staff was smoking outside of the store. As they watched us walk in we had to wait for them to finish up treating theirselves before they had taken our order. Almost every single person that had walked past me reeked of marijuana, cookies and a little bit of alcohol.The young gentleman and lady at the register were very touchy with each other and not paying much attention when I was ordering and the lady was also very rude when taking my order.I was told that this would be a family store. This was not a very family friendly experience!!

2021-06-24This was a cute date spot...if you like ice cream and cookies this is the place for you! You have to wait outside as each party is served separately and you cant enter until they have all exited. The prices were pretty fair about 8 bucks for an ice cream Cookie sandwich. Each side can be different as well.

2022-04-08Honestly, it’s NYC. You order cookies and they’re late, whatever.But when they’re 45min late and you have to call both seamless and insomnia to find out that they meant to call you because they were out of something, that’s silly.THEN when it’s 3 hours late and you call insomnia to say “hi it’s 3 hours now and I’m literally staying awake for you” and they say “nah man, you ordered this 45 min ago” that is what gets me to 1 star.Insomnia customer service Might be some of the worst I’ve ever experienced.

2018-12-28So who gets ice cream sandwiches at 1:15am ? This guy and his wife !!! I would give this establishment 10 stars if I could ! From the still warm fresh out of the oven cookies to the amazing counter person ! Carl you sir are an awesome addition to the Insomnia Cookies organization! It was such a pleasure being served by you, my wife and I will pay many visits to you ! Now back to the cookies and ice cream ! All I can say is WOW !!! If you’re ever on 79th and Amsterdam Ave Insomnia Cookies is a must visit ! If you live locally they deliver until 3am !!! This place is for sure Cookie Monster approved !!!

2021-07-13Im on a mission to find the best cookies in NYC and I certainly got a lot closer with Insomnia cookies. They are definitely the type of cookie Im looking for: soft and chewy, full of flavor and an amazing variety. Im a big fan of the late hours (for us sweet toothed ppl especially late at night when we convinced ourselves we wouldnt buy a bunch of sweets). Only down side is they have a very particular delivery range which defeats the purpose to me. I am slightly beyond delivery range and luckily was able to use Uber eats at this location but had that not been an option, I would not have gotten them bc Im not walking around at 11pm to go get cookies. With the added fees of Uber eats, it was a bit disappointing especially because they pride themselves on being a late night spot that will brings cookies right to your door. So Insomnia cookies, please work on your delivery options. Living in Hells kitchen, I feel like it should have definitely been an option for me. If you are in delivery range, I do recommend trying them. You also can have them shipped to you, but also defeats the purpose when you have a sudden craving that needs to be addressed asap.
