Insomnia Cookies in other cities:
I placed an order for a 12-pack of cookies at 12:31PM. The delivery time was set for 1:30PM. I called the store at 1:45PM when my order hadnt arrived. I spoke with a shift supervisor named Sara who apologized for the delay and explained the driver was having trouble with his bike. She assured the problem had been resolved and my order was in route. 30 minutes later, it still hadnt been delivered. I called the store and spoke with Sara again, who offered no ETA on my order nor any compensation for the extreme delay. She was rude and argumentative. I actually had to very fervently insist I receive a refund. I was appalled by her behavior and will never shop this location again. Which is unfortunate because I started a membership with my order but will absolutely be canceling it! My order FINALLY came at 2:30PM, late and cold.
I got the vegan chocolate chip and vegan birthday cake cookies after getting a craving for the chocolate chip one from my fiancé surprised me with a vegan chocolate chip one from another location. They were fresh and warm but a star was taken off because the woman had to repeat multiple times my order and then tell someone else to get my cookies. If she was stressed or tired or whatnot she should have had someone else help me. Overall clean location and social distancing was practiced.
I think its a bit overrated and definitely overpriced. Late night deliveries help. Freshly baked ones were the best. Hot brownies are worth trying, nevertheless. Was lucky to run inside during an exceptionally cold November to find them baking a batch. Asked them to give the freshest bunch and it was lovely beyond description! The pack cookies are fine as well because you get to taste couple of them for an okayish rate. Would be helpful if you dont go alone - and avoid some serious sugar rush. I did walk in with a lot of expectations. Guess that was exactly what I was supposed to not do. So, my advice is go in and explore. Oh, yea, it wouldve been helpful if the place had good coffee too. That was missing as well.
So today was the first time that I have ever bought from this store and I will say that it was not a great first impression. I went in-store and ordered a box of 18 cookies for $35. I even let the cashier know specifically which cookies I wanted. By time I got home, I only see 12. Mind you these were for my co-workers and wanted to have enough for them to try. I called and let them know what happened on their part and I was told that I would have to come back up to the store so they could place an “investigation”. At this point just give me back my money for my 6 missing cookies🤦🏾♀️
Very disappointed. I have ordered from this store at lease four times and each time that I have them delivered, they are broken up and rarely taste fresh especially for the big cookies. Additionally, when I had them delivered to Columbia Universitys McBain Hall which is only two blocks down off of 112 and Broadway, I can expect to wait over two hours if not more to get my cookies. With that wait time, it is no shock that they often were cold. When I am paying over three dollars per cookie i expect them to be fresh, in one piece and not cold.
I am in love with Insomnia cookies. But, of all the locations that I have been to (and I have been to about 5 of them) this has to be the worst. I just left the store. I ordered a six pack of cookies for me and my friend and the lady at the counter was rude and the cookies were hard. Therefore, I asked her to make fresh ones. She said it will be 25mins and I said okay because we were in no rush. She came back 10 mins later with the same hard cookies and said she had cookies in the back that she had warmed up for us. This set was harder then the previous. I let it go. If you want quality cookies, ice, and friendly service go to the store on 53rd. That place is waaayyyy better!
The physical store is not much to look at- purple awning, counter, cookie boxes stacked as if it were a pizzeria, a cookie warming device and a few benches looking out the window onto Cathedral of St. John the Divine. The cookies are delicious and served WARM. As a self-professed connoisseur of chocolate chip/chink cookies, I would give this one a 7.5 or 8 out 10. NOTE: the chocolate is gooey because the cookies are served warm. The chocolate does get harder if you let them sit awhile. Other friends have tried a few of the other flavors- mint chocolate chip, and triple chocolate chunk- and said they were really good. Best of all, they are open until 3AM (check delivery boundaries) to serve all of your late-night, sweet tooth cravings.
On Sunday I learned that the store at 1028 Amsterdam Ave In Manhattan was giving free cookies to health care workers. I went the lovely worker that was there gave me 6 cookies. Close to this location there is a hospital and a nursing home. I guess everyone got word of the free cookies giveaway so they went to the store. We are all healthcare workers and we have seen so many deaths recently and knowing that a company was willing to give away something free was great and a little sweet treat was good to boost our spirits. So after a couple of day I learned that insomnia cookies was only giving cookies to NURSES and DOCTORS. This is such a disgrace because Insomnia cookies the healthcare field is full of different departments and not only Doctors and nurses SAVES LIVES we in the health care field works as a team.
ONLINE ORDERING BEWARE! I had such a horrible experience with this company for delivery. I was ordering from Atlanta for my friend in NYC. Warm, Fresh Cookies delivered today? Perfect for my friend who was having a seriously bad week. $10 Delivery wasnt great considering the distance, but okay. There was a store 3 miles from their house so I figured no problem. Apparently, there are problems.1. No where on the site and especially no where during my order did the site say that the address was out of range for delivery and thus the delivery would be coming from Philadelphia. Not only would it not be delivered within the same day (Thursday), but it would not be delivered warm. I did not realize this until several hours after making the order.2. Fed Ex requires you to be home for this delivery so when my friend unknowingly left home for a half hour to get food down the street, the delivery was unable to be completed. This meant that the delivery would not happen until Monday. Thats right folks, 5 day old stale cookies rotting in a FedEx somewhere and that is if they happen to be home whenever the FedEx guy gets there. This was not stated anywhere on the website either.3. When I contacted them via their chat on their website, all the guy would do is say sorry for the inconvenience. Dude... while having to go out of my way to contact Insomnia Cookies is an inconvenience, the rest of this fiasco is just plain horrible. Not Warm. Not Fresh. Not Delivered Same Day. He had no idea why it wasnt delivered. He told me to check with FedEx. He gave me a tracking number. That number... wasnt valid.4. I had to call, purchase cookies and have my friends husband pick them up. I have paid twice for these cookies, plus the upcharge of ordering them online the first time (wasnt aware that was even a thing til today when I ordered them for pickup) and the shipping cost the first time. The Chat representative did nothing at all. There was no help from him and no compensation at all. I can only pray they give me a full refund.5. Even ordering them for pickup sucks because they ran out of 90% of their traditional cookies so I could not even order the same cookies.Overall, I am super disappointed with the service of this place and the fact that pretty vital information for delivery orders is completely missing on the website. No compensation or real assistance from their customer service. The only redemption was the lovely Adriana on the phone when I called the bakery directly, but even she couldnt do much. I will never be doing this again.
Might not be popular to dissent but I have issues with Insomnia.First, the cookies are worse than Pillsbury. Low quality chocolate is mostly sugar syrup which makes for a gooey mess thats just tolerable when piping hot but completely bland 30 minutes later. Cookies are crust-less lacking the crisp burnt edges that differentiate cookies from brownies. This lack of crust is because theyre made pre-frozen and heated up in an oven like a hamburger patty.Second, the health issue. Now obviously this place sells cookies so who am I to judge but remember what these are made of: one cookie has 35% of your daily fat intake thats all saturated, 38 different ingredients and the business model (and lack of any character besides sugar and butter to the cookies) essentially encourages you to eat 3, 4 or 5 in a single setting.
The cookies were cold, broken and they did not send the full order. Leaving 5 of my cousins daughters friends without cookies at their sleepover party. I called the customer service line right after the man dropped off the supposed completed order and was told they would send the rest of the order. After waiting 57 min. I called again to ask for a refund on the missing items or for them to send the rest of the cookies and they refused. If I were you I would not order from them unless you plan on walking into the store. The store manager has no customer service capability and is completely rude based on what the phone rep told me was said. I will never order from them again.
I never post these reviews, but I have never had a worse experience. My order took over an hour to deliver, and they forgot half of my order. They said they would come back with it and never did. I tried calling but was on hold for 20 minutes. Took them 2+ hours to get my order right. Never order from here

2022-03-24Ive always had a great experience ordering for delivery with Insomnia Cookies. The quality of the cookies are perfection everytime! They have been consistent everytime. My orders usually arrive way before the estimated delivery time (that could be because I dont live far from them but still)Customer service is nice and helpful. 2022-03-26I got the six pack (2 chocolate chunk, 2 macadamia nut, 2 double chocolate chunk). The pricing was a little on the more expensive side, but the cookies were excellent. I would highly recommend eating while still warm, as they get quite hard if left out for a little bit.

2022-07-08Terrible delivery and customer service. I ordered directly from their website and the order never arrived at the scheduled time of 2PM (it was supposed to have been for a work event). When I called the store at 2:15PM, I was informed that the order would only be delivered at 3PM because the cookies were still being baked. I told the staff member that the event would already have ended by that time, but she was unapologetic and rude.

2022-07-09Was told to wait for 4 confetti cookies to bake and after waiting 10 minutes they told me they didn’t have any. I requested a refund for the ones they couldn’t make and they told me it would go into my bank account in 3-5 business days. I was never refunded even after calling and having back and forth emails with the corporate office. Basically lost $20.

2021-01-05I have ordered from IC five times for my family members and everyone has loved it. My nieces know as soon as they get the box it’s from Aunt Jodi. Also ordered for my other nephews family. My kids looked with awe at the pics and videos and they were in awe so I ordered a box for our own family. They have an awesome loyalty program. Thank you IC for delicious cookies and such an easy process!! Love the app!

2019-03-15This was my first visit and I was so pleased. As soon as I walked up to the counter Dashawn was super friendly and helpful. He walked me through the menu, hooked me up with samples, and gave me his personal feedback to make sure I made the very best choice for me. Everything tasted fresh and yummy! Im def making this a favorite location on my maps - must repeat!
