That place is a joke!! to work at they don’t inspire no one the employees get treated like slaves the residents beat up the employees no one in that place cares and for $18 an hour while other facilities are paying 19.50 to 20 an hour so glad I’m somewhere better and the pay is good and get treated right

When my husband became in need of a memory care facility I could not find a suitable place for him . A friend suggested maplewood facility in Darien which is only 1 hour by train from grand central and 10 min walk from Darien station . My husband stayed there for over a year . It is an excellent place with wonderful staff and environment . However I was looking for a place in Manhattan comparable to Darien to be in direct proximity to mt. Sinai hospital . I had to wait few months before Inspir - a new Maplewoods addition opened up on the 22 March 2021 with some delay due to slow processing of license etc because of Covid . I moved my husband the first day of the opening. I was so confident about the quality of the place having met with the director of the new facility that I could not wait . Inspir has exceeded my expectation . The staff is well selected and trained, polite and caring . Inspir has enrolled several doctors to consult with various illnesses to be house doctors to make calls in the facility . They provide transport when visits require doctors visit . The architecture and decoration of the interior is superb . It does not feel like a retirement home but rather as a 7 star hotel . There are activities where people can mingle and staff facilitates connecting people so they do not need to eat alone if they don’t want too . The outdoor space is a great terrace filled with sun and is very comfortable to spend some time with coffee or juice . The entrance is super secured so nobody from outside can enter unless previous contact is made . My husband is feeling better and better every day there and could now imagine staying there for longer time . On the scale 1 to 10 I will give inspir 10.Ps : inspir is the first facility to have a music therapist on staff full time . My husband enjoys singing so last night he sung the duet with one of the maids who happened to be a Broadway singer and still is sometimes . I have not seen him so happy for a long time . Music is an important healer and I am glad inspir recognises that !

My brother and I, along with our wives, looked long and hard for a senior living / memory care unit in NY for our 96 year old mother. We found Inspir before Covid, and hoped that our hopes would not be undone by the Pandemic.Our mother moved in 6 weeks ago. While there were a few inevitable kinks that needed to be worked out, we have been thrilled with the level of attention that she has received, the competence and thoughtfulness of senior leadership, as well as the kindness of staff on her unit.Our mother is thrilled. She has been made to feel most welcome, and all of our concerns about her have been thoughtfully and immediately addressed. The rich menu of programs and activities has been as promised, and enormously stimulating. We are delighted with Inspir, and recommend it without reservation.
