My experience was seamless from beginning to end.I called in the morning and they arrived very quickly and completed the repair. I was able to text pictures of the issue so that they could make sure they had everything they needed. Jerry was very professional and kind. I highly recommend INSTALL-A-LOCK!
I contacted Install-A-Lock to replace our 70 year old front door mortise lock with a new Baldwin lock set. They were able to send their technician, Gus, on short notice the same day. Gus was friendly and competent. Installation required some work and modification to the door because the original holes were not quite what they needed to be to fit the lock. He was careful and patient and got all the pieces to fit properly. I’m grateful.
Jerry was amazing! I locked myself out of my car and he not only came quickly, but he was able to get me back in my vehicle in a short amount of time :) I am so thankful he was able to help me! I’m a local business owner and Jerry is the guy you can rely on to get the job done. I showed up at my office on the weekend to get a few things done and forgot to grab the keys to the door. I knew Jerry worked on all the doors around here, and asked if he had a spare key of my office. Next thing you know, he pulls out his locksmith certified lock pick and in 2 minutes I was in my office. More than thankful and this is the guy to call if you find yourself in a pinch or a big need of help. Thanks Jerry!
I had an old BMW key snap in half on me during the middle of the night and Jerry from Install-A-Lock was there within the hour to help. He drove out to me and made a replacement key with the two halves I had, it was amazing! Id recommend him to anyone!
I had a great experience here. The owner was very knowledgeable. I brought a door handle from a 1995 military surplus truck and he quickly figured out what key I needed and was able to cut it to match the lock that I brought in. I would definitely use him again and will be referring him to friends.
Not normally one to give reviews but had a very bad experience. Two weeks ago I had a copy of a building key made no problem, first try. I go back again and they try three different times to copy the same exact key, and all three times I came back because it didnt work. They ended up giving me a refund and telling me to find another place so they dont waste any more keys. Went all around town trying to find another locksmith and was unsuccessful. Still dont have a copy of the key I need.
Solved my month long headache in a day. I wish I would have started here. I had a horrible experience getting a replacement key directly from ford for my 2017 fusion which left me with a $100 useless key. I even had another locksmith try to pair it not telling me it was the wrong key and wasted more of money. I happen to work down the block from the location and figured to give it a shot. They were very informative explaining why the key ford sold me didn’t work since the frequency was 1 different and told me the right key I should get. They ordered the correct key for me, had it for me the next day and programmed it in about a hour. Price was very fair and couldn’t have had a better experience. Highly recommend if you are looking for an automotive locksmith as good ones are hard to come by on the island.
They are excellent. Jerry and Jimmy were very nice and they are complete experts at what they do. Jerry gave me a new lock and key for my storm door in a matter of minutes and he also gave me some great suggestions for the future. I highly recommend them to everyone. Please give them a call.
Excellent and fast service with a personal touch! Lost keys to the front and side door locks. Install A Lock responded over within the hour and replaced locks and keys. Jerry also took the the time to fix the locking plate on the side door that for years prevented the door from easily closing. You won’t meet a more knowledgeable locksmith.
The other reviews are spot on! Everything went quickly and smoothly from call to appointment, and we’re really pleased with the service. Jerry showed up promptly with a smile, answered all our questions, walked us through the different options, and replaced everything we wanted in short order. I just moved into a new residence. I have 2 young children so security and safety are a top priority for us. I called Install-a-lock to secure the place. Jerry the owner came over and installed dependable locks for the front and back doors. He also installed a fire proof safe. Jerrys recommendations fit our familys situation. I cant believe people have given this company positive reviews. I used this company to change the locks on my new home in Carle Place. Since I was not living in the home, I scheduled a specific time for them to come and do the work. I was running early for my appointment so I passed by the office to see if they could come earlier and to also see if they had something else I needed. The locksmith was eating his breakfast and appeared in no rush to get to my house. He told me as soon as he was done he would meet me there. He ended up getting to my house an hour and a half late. So much for making an appointment.... He then had to return to the office before he could finish my job and disappeared for about an hour...In the mean time, I grew tired of waiting and left my wife at the house while I went and picked up something from Lowes. Murphys Law, the guy came back and finished the job literally 5 minutes before I made it back. My wife called me up and said the guy is waiting to get paid and is annoyed that I wasnt there. I came back to the house and the locksmith asked me if I was paying with cash or check. I told him I prefer to use my credit card. At this point he got angry and said if he knew I was paying with credit card he wouldnt have waited the 5 minutes for me to return and I could have called the office. Now the gloves came off, and I sarcastically apologized about him having to wait and thanked him for showing up an hour and a half late and then disappearing for an hour... he stormed out of my home. Later I did get a call from the office, ( they wanted to get paid) I complained about their tardiness and their locksmiths attitude, he apologized but was more then happy to take my credit card info and charge me the more then $200 bucks to change 2 locks.... well the story doesnt end there. The locks their genius locksmith changed stopped opening with the keys they gave me after a week. I scheduled another appointment, they ended up cancelling on me last minute saying they were stuck doing another job and we rescheduled.... they then ended up showing up late for the rescheduled appointment. This was my first home purchased, and I made the mistake of thinking that a local locksmith would be more then happy to try and establish a good relationship with a new neighbor. Stay away from this company, they overcharge and have no respect for their clients schedule.
Ordered an OEM FOB as a secondary/spare. Very good communication over the phone to order and setup appointment. Setup FOB and cut key perfectly. All is good, will use again for any locksmith jobs.
I went this morning to get a copy for my project civic . the boss is a great guy he’s very fast to make copies and i ended up with two keys i recommend all veterans to come here for your key or lock Smith needs we need more shops like this on the Island everybody keep this Business up and running thank you soo much u saved my day 🙏🏼

I had an emergency and needed a new set of keys made asap. The owner was closing for the day when I pulled up. He reopened the doors for me and had the key set made in 5 minutes. 2022-05-10I always love to support small businesses when I can and Jerry at Install-A-Lock did not disappoint! He was super helpful, kind and personable. Jerry is truly a master of his craft and I feel so lucky to live near such a great small business. His prices are fair and I feel like he really went above and beyond to assist me. I cannot recommend Jerry at Install - A - Lock enough! Stop on by his shop for all your locksmith needs, you wont regret it! I know I have gone to a big box store in the past to have a key made, only for it to stick and not work correctly; never again! Go to see Jerry who really knows what hes doing! I will for sure be a life long customer!

2022-07-25The owner Jerry was wonderful. He is respect, funny and reliable. He installed a deadbolt and made sure it was perfect . He had to drill the holes in the door for the deadbolt. It started to rain very hard and I had a leak in the ceiling. He grab a tray and put it under it. He wd40 the other lock on the door also. Excellent service.

2020-12-04Professionalism is their trademark. I needed a new remote fob for my 2004 vehicle that has an aftermarket ignition alarm and cutoff switch. I couldn’t get the car started without the new fob.Jerry ordered the fob and came out to program it. He was on the phone with me daily to give advice on how to potentially disarm the alarm system. He is punctual, courteous and knowledgeable. I would recommend Install-A-Lock without hesitation!
