An absolute gem!! Iris Cafe is a perfect go to spot for some of the best brunch in Brooklyn. So happy that it’s back at a new location with great food & friendly staff. Everything we ate was amazing. Must try the pancakes, the burger, the salads, and the drinks! Great place for brunch with friends, or with the kids.
This is a magical little cafe to sip coffee and enjoy the amazing atmosphere inside. Friendly service and beautifully decorated, the place buzzed with friends catching up over coffee. Delicious breakfast and the perfect place to recharge your batteries in the morning before you spend the rest of the day exploring New York City
Great date place! Chill vibe and beautiful decor and jazz sound track. Wanted to grab a late night bite to eat before a 2 hr trip south. Had the butternut squash soup for for dinner, and heaping mounds of homemade ricotta cheese with honey and mint as a dessert w a tasty cup of a locally roasted coffee. It hit the spot dead center. And saved me from a midnight stop at the Molly Pitcher rest stop. Rodi, the owner, is very welcoming and a gracious host. Thanks Iris Cafe for a great night cap. Look forward to seeing you again soon.
We had a wonderful experience here. Great food and lovely ambiance, but what made it so special was that the owner was there, chatted with us about the history of the restaurant, his upbringing in the neighborhood, and his family. He bought our round of drinks as we headed out. What a lovely experience at a beautiful local place.
I went to Iris for breakfast. The service was friendly, the food was good and the place had a great atmosphere. Clearly upscale. On the downside, the portions were small and expensive. It hit the spot because I just wanted to eat something small and tasty in the middle of the day.
I usually really like Iris but this was a disappointing experience. The service was slow at every step from when I walked in and (after waiting for several minutes) had to ask if I should seat myself to when I finally carried my check up to the back counter to pay. The food was fine but I could have gotten a better salad elsewhere. I probably wont go back for lunch again.
Waited 45 minutes for a table for 2 then left for another spot down the street after being told 15 minute wait. Parties larger than 3 were almost immediately seated as 3 or 4 parties of 2 and 3 waited outside. Any party larger than yours will be sat first if the larger table is available. Not going back. Terrible experience for people who live local.
Food was AMAZING. Im a brunch/breakfast snob and I loved this place. My only caveat is the service. Typical quite good. There was a mishap with our order. Understandable, things happen. But everyone around us who came in well after us got their meals (some which were exactly like ours). It seems as though our order was put at the bottom of the list after the mishap rather than being cooked again immediately. No one offered us a refill on our coffee or some scones to tie us over. In my opinion, worst call they could have made. We had to ask for a scones and that came like after we got our food. Our table had:RicottaAvocado toastFrench toastChilli something lolFood was awesome !overall:Food- 5/5Service- 3/5
My significant other and I came here for dinner a couple weeks ago and had a lovely dinner. Ingredients were fresh, service was kind, prompt, and attentive while still allowing us ample room for conversation.Atmosphere is really cute, dim lighting and wood finishes make for a rustic and intimate vibe. We closed the place down.Looking forward to coming back again!Th
Sometimes when a first visit is outstanding that theres a hesitancy to return; a nagging worry that the next time cant possibly be as good. But weve been back and Iris doesnt disappoint. Superb food, beautifully presented and served with skill. Far, far better than many more pretentious and expensive places. Truly a delightful dining experience.
The food is good, but be prepared to overpay and leave hungry. The fruit side is 5 bucks and you literally get 3 strawberries (cut up into small pieces so it looks like more), a few slices of pear, a few pieces of melon. The coffee doesnt get refilled. You should go here if you arent hungry and have plenty of money. Otherwise look elsewhere.
Fantastic neighborhood cafe with fresh wholesome ingredients and a friendly staff. Get the large coffee, it comes in a mug the size of your soup bowl and its full of stumptown goodness. The Iris to go store next to the cafe is expensive but the cafe somehow isnt. The menu changes to the season but their biscuits, eggs, kale, dinosaur squash - all clean and good food.
I started my day off here coming from Jersey. Its expensive and you will leave hungry. I dropped $21 for the smoked salmon plate and a cup of coffee (tax and tip included). I was the first customer of the day and waited 15-20 minutes before my food came out.I cant blame them for such average food but I took stars away because of the price ($3 for a cup of coffee), small portion, and they did away with soft boiled eggs. I paid in cash but would flipped out if this place was cash-only.

2022-02-15Valentines Dinner was delicious! Excellent portions and kudos to the chef! The Salmon was perfection. The chef made meatballs and spaghetti for me. Off menu. We enjoy the staff, ambiance very welcoming with the owner himself spending the Valentines Day with us. He gave all the ladies a red rose and knows everyone’s names as well. It’s a real family feel. Looking forward to all the folks who will be calling this their new special place to eat!!! Excellent!!!

2022-03-06Iris Cafe is back! Large but somehow cozy space right on the waterfront. Excellent coffee and service. The raised pancake was light and fluffy and crisp served with fresh berries.Ill update as I work my way though the rest of the menu.

2022-07-16Stumbled into this spot yesterday - what an exceptional and very welcome spot in a location that severely lacks good food. Everything about my lunch was perfect. The team was so so attentive, kind and genuinely happy to be there doing what they do - so refreshing to see. Food was excellent, all around a wonderful experience and again, such a welcome addition to this area!!

2022-07-10I and my friend wanted to watch the Wimbledon like everyone else who were there today. We ordered an egg sandwich and a burrito plate. They served the egg plate without forks, knifes and small plates although we told them we would share. Then they forgot the burrito plate. Terrible service! The lady who was sitting next to us asked them to turn on the volume multiple times, they kept saying they will but they didnt. She had ordered a coffee and stated that she will order food later. Then when she was on the phone the bartender interrupted her and started an argument regarding her request to turn on the volume. It was unbelievable. He was literally yelling by his words to a customer. Also he told her ‘you are sitting here and having only a coffee’. We were shocked and speechless the way they treated a customer. She repeated that she had ordered coffee for now and will order food later. She hanged up the phone and went to pay for her coffe. She was trying to explain the situation to the server right behind us. At the end the lady said she will not be back after the way she was treated. The server goes ‘don’t come back, that is a great decision’What kind of people work here? We will never be back as well!

2022-07-10One of my favorite spots. I’m pretty much a regular now. The bartenders and servers are super friendly. Very cool and chill vibe with a nice outdoor space. The pancakes for brunch are top notch. Stop by if you’re in the neighborhood.

2022-05-27Outstanding bar, very cozy, with the absolute best view of NYC, you won’t get a view like that anywhere, and they just opened their outside area (it’s a must-go). Food and drinks are great, service is even better especially from Arnold, his attention to detail is bar none. 10/10.
