I have had several colonoscopies there over the years. The staff is always pleasant. They are all professional. I have never had to wait long for a doctor to see me which is not the norm at most medical offices. Dr Dasilva who has been doing my procedures for years has great bedside manor. He is thorough and also very professional. I will continue to use them and would highly recommend them.
Nice place! I walked in and it was a great experience! I was in a lot of pain, and who I was originally suppose to see in my network was unavailable till the next day. The office and DRs were able to schedule me a same day appointment. The reception and staff were very friendly and caring. The wait time in the office was minimal, Thank you for all the help! (Only negative was a slow elevator, and parking can be tough, but street is available too)
I’ve been a patient at this practice for more than 20 years and have been very happy with my physician, Dr Mariwalla, and with the other doctors I’ve seen over the years. I am particularly pleased today. I woke up sick today and called for an appointment, and I was given an appointment right away. It was the shortest time I’ve ever spent in a doctor’s waiting room. I was seen promptly by a doctor who did not rush me....not my usual doctor within the practice... and was on my way home within 20 minutes.
I have had 3 colonoscopies there and have had very good experiences. The staff is kind and knowledgeable. They are good with time management and you are brought in at your appointment time. Dr DeSantis listened to my concerns and I never felt rushed or that he was destructed. Overall a very good experience
Very well-run and professional practice. I was recommended to come here by another physician as well as a co worker and was glad I followed up on their advice. Reception was pleasant, PA (Chuck) was friendly, knowledgeable and thorough. Dr Mariwalla was nice, kind, caring and put our minds at ease with a smile. Thank you to all!
This was my first time to this office and everyone was very courteous. I went in for a standardized test, which it appeared that they were not used to because they were all serious and ready to deal with complications. Once they realized why I was truly there, they relaxed and we all had a good laugh. Good to know that whether its a serious issue or more complicated, I have the right office.
The staff was very pleasant, welcoming, engaging, thorough and efficient… The nursing staff is wonderful, the NPA Doreen, came in and explained everything to me in terms that I would understand. I love Dr. Sorbi! Dr Sorbi is so personable and friendly, he has such a calming wonderfully soothing bedside manner… He is so sweet and patient he takes time out to talk to you, he’s not intimidating at all and he is so warm and friendly and kind!
Dr. DiSanti was excellent. I had a colonoscopy and endoscopy and was done with both procedures in about 40 minutes. No after affects. He was very attentive, kind, compassionate and explained everything in detail. He is the best Doctor I have been to and I highly recommend him. He is a five star all the way.
I have gone to Island Gastroenterologology for many years! I have also had many procedures done, at their suite. Dr. D’Silva is patient , caring, and has attended to all my medical needs!I would highly recommend the doctors, and the staff, as I have gotten excellent care there through the years! They are professional, caring, and explain everything so that you can understand!Being in the medical field for many years and seeing the changes that have taken place, which I am not happy about, this practice makes you feel like a “patient”, a “human being”, and not a number!
Dr marawalla was great. His years of experience gave me comfort and confidence in my proposed treatment. I was sure that surgery was needed but dr mariwalla explained that close monitoring of my condition should be done and that my condition may improve with conservative treatment. Maggie the physician assistant was also very friendly and knowledgeable.
Dr DiSantis is wonderful. He takes him time to explain and discuss all your questions and concerns. The reception ladies are pleasant and pfofessional !!The staff are friendly and prompt. My only complaint is that the Dr. is so good that it takes quite while to get anearly morning appointment for a routine colonoscopy. 👍😀
I went to Dr. D’Silva for a second opinion because the doctor I was seeing, after 2 colonoscopies in 5 months, said there was nothing else he could do for me!I started coming here and Dr D’Silva is running all sorts of test that my previous dr didn’t even consider. He’s really trying to get to the heart of my problem. I’m forever grateful! I just wish I Went to him earlier than I did. My primary care doctor, Dr Nicole Darrow, who I just started going to, referred him to me. Great thinking on both parts!
They were terrific. From signing in at front desk, to my colonoscopy. They ran on time, which is a rarity at a doctors office. It’s an unpleasant procedure, but the staff were professional, and made me as comfortable as possible (especially for such a crappy procedure). Dr D’Silva was wonderful. Patiently answered questions and concerns. I highly recommend
WOW, got to my 4 oclock appointment 10 minutes early ( which I had also used my personal time off from work). Front desk was unfriendly and rude. I was called to the exam room quickly and thats where I sat after getting my BP taken and a few questions asked. At this time it was 4:10, I waited in this room until 4:50 when I opened the door to find out why it was taking so long for Dsilva to see me. Aide replied that he was going to be there in 2 minutes. At 5:10 I left without seeing the doctor. What makes these Doctors think that they can treat us like this. I f you had to cancel an appointment less then 24 hours you would still have to dish out your co pay! If more people like me left after an unreasonable wait time then may they would think twice about being so inconsiderate. My rating is awful stay away, and if you had a good experience consider yourself lucky.
This was my 3rd appointment at Island Gastroenterology since 2014. First off, this practice handles a HUGE volume of patients for a variety of reasons. So, common sense would expect that they cant possibly accommodate every persons needs on a whim. It was a few days out from when I called before I could get an appointment that fit my schedule. When I arrived, the front desk receptionist got me processed quickly (even when my insurance had changed since the last visit). I then sat in the waiting room about 3 mins before I was taken back to the exam room. (And this was a weekday late afternoon). After the friendly M.A. took vitals, Dr.DiSanti was in to see me within minutes. This was a visit based off lab results which my primary never forwarded, so he excused himself while they got the results. He returned a few minutes later and fully explained the results and the plan of action to move forward. Dr.DiSanti is very friendly and spoke to me with respect. He was also very thorough in his diagnosis and his opinions. It was the same in 2014 when I saw him and the endoscopy performed after. The facility they have for performing procedures like endoscopy/colonoscopy was also staffed by very friendly and compassionate individuals. Who understand that patients are nervous (and most likely very hungry).
The office and Dr Disanti are phenomenal! So glad I was referred to them. I had concerns so I called to leave a message and Dr Disanti actually called me! Now that was impressive and shows that he cares. I got real lucky with this office and so comfortable with Dr Disanti ! 😎💪 thank you
Im so aggravated with this practice. I wish I was never referred here. There is a minimum 40 minute wait before you see 3 random people who all take the same information that you already provided via paperwork. . Dr DSilva spoke to me for maybe two minutes, palpated my stomach 2x for a throat issue & charged 450$, only to tell me to make another appointment in 6 weeks. At my endoscopy, he supposedly spoke to me when I was still sedated. I had no recollection of his findings.I wouldnt trust this practice and like I said, I wish I was never referred here.
Ill give Island Gastro 2 stars just because the doctors and staff are polite and multiple family members, including myself, went here for years. Other than that, it doesnt deserve any further positive review. You wait forever foe your appointment, leave messages with no call back, and over pay for the same services you can get elsewhere.Put it this way, the new gastro that my whole family now sees, charges one third that Island Gastro did for Anesthesia. (A previous bill I had from Island Gastro was $2700... same procedure at my new doc $800!) The best part is that numerous stomach ailments and colon issues that have been bothering our whole family for years that Island Gastro ran us in circles with, are all being resolved by our new doc. There are plenty of Gastro docs out there. Do your research before going!
I visited here because I had been suffering from 3 anal fissures. Dr. Disanti first ordered a colonoscopy that proved nothing but did charge my insurance a load. Then he issued me the prescription Rectiv which contains nitro and has severe side effects. Such as vertigo, headaches so intense that you have to go lie down and pray they go away and by the way, they last 6-8 hours. After seeing him 3 more times, a friend one day at work had bleeding hemorrhoids and was familiar with my condition. His Dr issued him hydrocortisone suppositories and he shared some with me. Guess what? After seeing these fakes for almost 3 months, I was healed inside of a week using the suppositories. No side effects, no gigantic Dr. bill, no disrespectful staff in the waiting room, no unnecessary tests. To add insult to injury, on one visit, instead of charging my insurance, they actually sent my account to collections. So you cant just say Dr. Disanti is negligent and ignorant, so are the billing staff which are disrespectful at times.Definitely buyer beware. Look elsewhere because the gastroenterologists here do NOT know what they are doing. But they sure do know how to take you to the cleaners. Absolutely heartless knowing how long I suffered for and they knew their treatments were bogus. How can a general practitioner be able to know first try how to fix something when a specialist is so blatantly ignorant of the cure? My only guess is that Dr Disanti did it to milk my insurance for the money and had no care what so ever for my well being as the patient.
This was the only physician that actually honored the appointment time. I was in to see Dr. Desanti within 5 minutes of my scheduled appointment .WOW! He prescribed pylera for an H.Pylori infection that was causing me stomach pain. A month later I am in great shape no more pain. Highly recommend Dr. Desanti and this practice
Terrible. Do you yourself a favor and dont get involved with this practice. It has been over 6 weeks of pain, and still no one will give me the test results to the tests I had performed. I call time and time again, and if they do answer the phone they promise someone will call me back but they never do. This is the closest thing to a scam I have encountered in a practice.
My grandma rose said island gastroenterology were the most curtious people working there she had ever met in her 71 years of dealing with doctors offices and clinics i give them the highest a 10 they all deserve trophies for their kindness she also said waiting time was about hAlf an hr verses other clinics or private offices waiting time to see a dr with an appointment set could be up to 3 hrs

2022-06-16Would never recommend this doctor‘s office! Had to follow up with a gastroenterologist after the hospital. For my first appointment I was escorted into an examining room with someone who is taking my vitals, and her three-year-old daughter attached to her leg with no shoes on. How is that appropriate?? Not to mention she didn’t have a mask on. How do you allow an employees child in an examining room with a patient? As if that wasn’t enough I was told to get clearance for procedure and that I would be notified when the clearance was received. They received my clearance almost a week ago, and not only have I not heard from them, I’ve left five messages on five different days for a callback and I have not yet received a call! How do you operate a doctors office in this manner? Do not go! Find another doctor! Highly unprofessional and I’m assuming bringing a three-year-old into the examining room is breaking a law of some kind

2022-06-22Super annoyed with this office. I was 10 minutes late after driving 40 minutes in downpour rain. They said the doctor has a 10 minute late policy (even though we wait a long time to see the doctor) and refused to see me. She said I should have called (while I was driving in the rain?) to say I was going to be late. I wonder if I didn’t let the older woman go in front of me if they would have seen me since I would have only been 6 minutes late? Yes I was late and I acknowledge that but this is so ridiculous.

2022-04-22NEVER NEVER NEVER going back to this office!!!! I’ve been suffering stomach pains and bloating for a few months with several other symptoms. I went to my regular doctor to get blood work and ultra sound then was referred to see a Gastro. During my visit with Dr. Ahmed I felt like he was not listening to any of my concerns. He responded with “Well the two tests I would’ve ordered you already got” (blood work and ultra sound). He ended up prescribing me a medication to take 2 times a day for 4 weeks. He told me if my symptoms go away then I am “fine” and if not then we will have to do more invasive testing like a endoscopy. I left there very unsatisfied with his “solution” and felt like he did not listen to a word I said. I researched on my own the medication and what he told me. Without any background in the medical field I knew that this was not right at all. I went to another doctor this morning for a second opinion. I explained to her EXACTLY what I explained to Dr. Ahmed and came up with VERY VERY different solution for my issues. He basically wanted to treat me for acid reflux and have me take a medication for an entire month for something I do not need. At the very end of the call with my new doctor I explained that I went to Dr. Ahmed and what he prescribed me and she was SHOCKED. She said it’s not even close to any of the issues I am having. He is treating more stomach issues with no additional testing when the real issue lies in Small Intestines/Colon. That is what needs to be looked into. The new doctor walked me through exactly the testing and diet changes I will be doing. Dr. Ahmed literally did not listen to a word I said and just blindly prescribed me something so he didn’t have to do any further investigation. THATS A ZERO STAR DOCTOR IN MY BOOK. AWFUL.

2022-07-20I had a scheduled colonospy and endoscopy and followed prep instructions to the tee. I took the mirlax with crystal light and after 6 cups started throwing up. I called emergency line 3 x no returned call. I came in for procedure and informed them the situation.. showed pictures and they said I should be fine to the nurse. The doctor did not want to see my pictures just want to do the procedure. Well.. no fine want me to come back. Its hard having two young children who receive services weekly. I have a 3 yr old who get speech and a 6 yr old with ADHD and mild autism who gets lots of services. I am annoyed no one returned my call yesterday. Even more annoyed they were eager to do procedure without sending me home with different prep and come back today later on that day. I had a sitter for the day and a ride. It is hard scheduling these tests. When I spoke to the doctor... I asked him how was my CT scan from two weeks ago. He Said he has so many patients and doesnt remember. Then.. I asked him to speak to him again bc the first conversation I was gruggy.. that I was worried about the hermerriods and very short. I am annoyed and will not be getting another procedure for a while.. its hard finding sitters..

2019-06-07The staff at the front desk is rude, unprofessional and confused. They have cancelled moms appointments twice after we got there. I onverheard someone complaining about cancelled appointments as well. They dont know what theyre doing and a big turn off. I ended up taking my mom somewhere else.

2021-10-12I am beyond disappointed. I waited over a month for my appointment to only find out that I needed a referral once I arrived to it. It was too late at that point to get my referral sent over for this appointment. They said that they called and couldn’t leave a voicemail, but I called back and spoke to someone at the front desk the same day and all they wanted me to do was to confirm my appointment. This is peoples health that they are messing with by making these mistakes and then giving you an attitude when they (the front desk) are responsible for putting you in this situation in the first place. They messed up and I paid the consequences. The next available is in a month and I will not be returning here. Unprofessional and highly disappointing.

2021-06-25Dr. Disanti is the best, I go every 2 years for my colonoscopy, he went the extra step when i was having the procedure done, he thought he saw something and sure enough he did. Thank god he did I had stage 1 colon cancer. Because of him things could have been alot worse. I would total recommend this office, they care about there patients and go the extra step....

2020-11-16Do not use this office!! The office staff is extremely rude and unprofessional!! They are unable to keep simple schedules or speak professionally over the phone. Placed on hold for extended periods of time. Eventually was disconnected and had to call back. Again put on hold for extended period of time. I had a procedure schedule for 11/23, however, when I called to confirm, they did not have me on the schedule. They sent me info in the mail about prepping for the procedure along with covid testing procedures and date, but cancelled me without notifying me. Do yourself a favor and look for a new Doctor ASAP!!!!

2018-08-21Professional and caring staff that are on top of their game and take pride in their work. From the moment I walked into this office I was welcomed by the courteous staff that confirmed my appointment for which I had a minimal wait. The nurse that took my vitals and recorded my information was courteous, friendly and professional. My physician Dr DiSanti is very caring, professional, did not rush me, addressed all my concerns and provided me with additional information relevant to my health.

2018-09-20Dr Sorbi is great. Very thorough. Never rushed. Never an extreme wait like other doctors. I’ve been a patient for 4 years and it’s always been consistent. The whole office from top to bottom is professional and friendly. Other doctors and offices should use them as a model!!!
