Just a heads up for everyone else! Leaving a honest review.. not slander!Mario is a hack and a thief! I dropped off my offshore x clamp for new bushings and he said it was shot and threw it out without telling me (*it was not shot and he tossed it before he could show me what was wrong**). Then he charged me $1000 for a used 2.5clamp that he said was a 3l and he painted it so I couldn’t tell. he also supposedly changed all the seals and bushings but it would hop all over and the seals leaked leaving a giant stain on my driveway. (I guess he doesn’t know how to change a seal) I gave him a call to drop it off because I did not want it anymore after putting it in the water once and he said the solution is to bungee the motor and it’s not his problem anymore and refused to fix it or replace it.I have now found out that he has told multiple people he fixed parts on their motor and charged them for it but when they looked at it they found out it was never touched.

AVOID.Mario charged my buddy for work on parts he never touched, threw away brand new bushings and charged $1K for new ones, had oil leaks all over the driveway after he changed the seals, and suggested makeshift solutions to the problems he created after being asked to fix them. Not [his] problem! he says.Dishonest, immoral, and terrible work. More like theft, frankly. Bring your boat anywhere else.

This was the most horrible experience i have ever dealt with in the marine/boating world of mechanics.I was ripped off by the owner and was charged 3600.00 to have my hydraulic steering bled on a 32 foot boat of mine. When i questioned if the job was even done right, the shop owner got mad at me and almost challenged me in a physical kind of way. At that point i just paid and wanting nothing to do with this lunatic. Hes lucky i didnt make a report with bbb or the police for that matter. When i tried to leave he threw a t shirt with his business logo through my truck passenger window as i was pulling away. VERY AGGRESSIVE/VERY UNPROFESSIONAL.Id never use again .

I bought a motor from him and it was a complete rip off. He showed me a motor and sold me a different one after I had given him a large portion as a down payment. I would have sued him but he would only take cash and my lawyer said it wasnt worth while. Run from this guy!

Very knowledgeable shop, the owner is really nice very careing and takes his time to talk to you and really explain whats wrong with your boat. Been using this shop for the past 2 years and I cant think of anything negative to say. Ever since Ive been using this shop Ive never been stranded on the water Mario is always ontop of everything its like he does a full inspection every time Ive brought it there. Ill definitely be going back to Island Performance for years to come.
