We kept our dog here while visiting Niagara Falls. Absolutely professional with a loving environment. Very big open spaces and kennels with an outside run. My dog seemed like he didnt want to leave. By the way the price is extremely competitive, best bang for your buck. I highly recommend. Of note, they only accept cash or check.
Read all the reviews and honestly have a much different opinion of this place. Dropped our dog off on a Friday for an overnight while we were out of town. Asked about whether they trim nails there and reminded them on three separate occasions while talking to them that we wanted the nails done. Fast forward to picking her up the next morning. Told them I was there to pick up Maggie - guy goes in the back, comes out with a dog bed, some toys, some food, a leash, - I look at it, and say that not my dogs, he responds oh and disappears into the back room again. He comes out with a different group of things, sets them on the counter and I say thats not my dogs - must have a lot of Maggies here, and he says yeah thats a popular name this weekend. Finally asks what kind of dog Maggie is …. and boom third times a charm. I never showed ID, he never asked who I was, he tried twice to give me someone elses dog without once asking me anything about my dog. Seems pretty irresponsible to me, almost like anyone that walked in there and said they were here to pick up a dog could walk out with one. Oh, and her nails were never touched - they must have did all the other Maggies nails. Only reason they got 2 stars is because she was alive when we picked her up. NOT GOING BACK TO THIS PLACE.
We brought our dog Henry here to hang out for the day while we visited the Falls. This is a family-owned business, and it shows. The employees are pleasant and friendly, and truly seem to love dogs and love their jobs. They even bring their own dogs to spend the day during their shift! The building is cute, clean, and cozy, with a true lodge feel -- there is a half-walled fireplace corral area to the right as soon as you enter the facility. Each of the separate kennels has an indoor and outdoor area for pets to go at their will during their stay. The daily and overnight prices are unbelievably inexpensive. We paid $26 for a full days stay for our Henry, and we were encouraged to call and check on him as much as we liked. They even offered to send a photo of him via Facebook Messenger. Keep in mind, they ONLY take cash or check, but there is an ATM at the welcome center across the street if needed. We would definitely recommend Island Pet Lodge for your doggie day care or boarding needs. You can rest assured your furbabies will be well taken care of!
Absolutely love this family owned business. Always super clean and I love seeing the little dogs in the front window relaxing on the sofa. I trust them with my little pal and drove out to the island instead of a place closer that only seemed interested in the money they would make off of me. TRUST ME, THIS PLACE IS GREAT!! if I still lived in NY I would still be going there.
If you want to really enjoy your vacation and have a dog you truly love, this is the place for them! The facility was clean, kennels were spacious with outside run and gave the feeling of a true lodge. It is like a vacation for your dog. The staff are very nice and trustworthy and treat your dog with warmth and compassion. Thanks for the peace of mind :)Chris and Lynn Waldron
Let our dog for the day while visiting Niagara Falls. Staff was more than helpful. Appearances are anything this place is nice. You can see the playground for large dogs from the lobby which is the playground for the small dogs. We opted for an individual kennel with run.

2022-05-26I dropped my dog off here for a few days of boarding and everyone I encountered from drop off to pick up was so nice. I even messaged them on Instagram for an update on her while I was away and they responded so fast that she was eating well and having fun! I will definitely bring her back if I need to board her again in the future.

2021-02-04I dont normally review, but this place deserves it. My dogs absolutely love going there and the staff is wonderful. You can tell they truly care about animals and treat your pet like family. It is so nice to know that I have a safe place for my dogs to go when I go away and takes stress off knowing they will be well cared for. I highly recommend this place to anyone.

2019-08-17Brought my dog here every day for a week while my girlfriend was out of town on vacation. The staff is very friendly and the building is a beautiful place to bring your pet. As I saw my dog every night, I could see that he was well taken care of and certainly looked after. He so looked forward to going every day and the staff knew what he had been up to every evening when I asked. A true sign he was in good hands! Very satisfied with our experience, thanks!

2020-09-07Our three dogs go here and always come home tired from a fun filled play day. They get their baths done here too and always come home smelling great and feeling clean. They take the time to get to know your dogs and you. Very friendly and great customer service.

2020-07-08This place was a great solution for this vacationer with dog in tow!We decided to take our dog with us in a rented RV with a Niagara Falls destination and multiple spots to camp along the way. Our dog was not digging the frequent change, a lot of mean dogs he couldnt meet, OR the loud fireworks of other campers. We were also wanting to see some of the attractions that didnt allow dogs. Saw the ad in our campground materials and called them up to inquire if theyd take our traumatized doggo for a few hours. They said yes and the guy who answered the phone was super helpful with all my questions.A few things to know that was helpful-1. They do take dogs who are just passing through. Our dog is super dog social and does dog daycare once or twice a week at home, but we we werent sure if hed thrive after all the stress. They seemed to be pretty knowledgeable about dog behavior and agreed to pull from daycare and put into boarding if necessary.2. No breed restrictions. Its a lazy cop out if you ask me, and a sign of a place that isnt watching dogs closely. My dog is a pit mix and so even keeled they use him to test new dogs at his daycare.3. Great prices. The half day was just $20!4. It seemed clean, love the fact they have access to the indoors.5. They kindly took my vet records by an email forward and were easy to work with in that regard. If I lived in the area, I would definitely take my dog here regularly.

2019-06-19Impressively amazing experience. As truck drivers my girlfriend and I have wanted to see Niagara Falls for years now and have finally come close enough to get the chance. This place took our dog and cared for him for around $27 for the day. The staff was really friendly the building had a great lodge vibe and was really clean. No overwhelming smells. For the truck drivers there is a very nice rest area across the street for you to park your truck, board your dog and Uber to the falls for a fun day.

2017-11-12We have used the lodge a few times before and never had a problem however this last time my dog spent one night and when I got him home he drank an entire bowl of water as soon as he walked in the door which is not normal, and a few minutes later I noticed he had dried poop on his tail, legs and stomach. Again, I hadnt had a bad experience before but it seemed as though my dog hadnt had water most of the time he was there and he obviously pooped in his kennel, which is very unusual for him, and they didnt even try to clean him up. One bad experience changes everything and I will NEVER let my dog stay there again!
