Island Thrift in other cities:
I very often come to this location since I live in the community. I feel their prices are fair and the inventory /donations they receive are really good. Lots of art, vinyl records, books, clothing and tchotchkes. Ive decorated half of our home with secondhand items and have made Island Thrift a regular stop on my route generally during the weekdays. The staff is always very nice and its quite clean for a thrift shop. I appreciate their efforts to create a physically distanced shopping experience however their aisles are WAY too skinny to ensure that.
Easy to see right off of New York Avenue servicing Huntington Station and the adjoining areas of Suffolk County. Plenty of parking and a wheelchair accessible entrance. Moderately clean facilities. Public Restrooms. Nice staff. Youll have to do a little hunting, but youll find some great bargains. Donations are accepted. We will most likely be going back.
The Name is Thrift, Which is True about their Very low, affordable prices.Otherwise, the Quality are mostly Brand-New.It is a departmental Store, carrying almost every necessity of life under one Roof.It is a mini-MallThey have one color sale, weekdays, 2 colors sale Saturday, and 4 color sale(half price)on sundays. They also have 10-30% Veterans and Seniors Discount, on certain days of week(ID,Required)
Love this place! Great selection of a,wide variety of items. Their shoe selection is what I like best here, also Men and womans coats. They also run each day 1/2 price sales on tags of a certain color. Sundays they have 4 different colored tagged items at 1/2 price. No returns or exchanges on anything.
I Asked Latin lady who worked there if she could discount a broken trumpet and she rudely said come back tommorow when people who price items will be in. 5 min later old lady ask if she could do something with the price on her item and said said she would no problem. The old lady was Latin. (Im not). Also want to add its ridiculous that everything is donated and these people charge new prices for old clothes and shoes. Better to go to Marshalls. They had a used jacket priced at $48.88 and Marshalls had the same one new for $27.50 ..They want over $20 for used shoes . I would not shop there again
Terrible !!! The manager is an uneducated person, she does not know that clients are respected! I take a product off my hands and change its price! That was really bad and when I asked her what she wanted to talk to the manager about, she told me that she was the manager with her hands on her hips! All spoiled and arrogant! Doesnt she know how to treat customers! Does she not know that customers donate items to that store! Very bad ! Give him classes in ethics.
DO NOT BUY ANYTHING IN THIS STORE, BUY A PRINTER OF THE EDSON BRANDIT COST ME $ 26.00, AND WHEN THE MACHINE TURNED ON, AND EVERYTHING LOOKS GOOD, BUT, THE HEAD, OF, THE, ITSELF WOULD, THEN GO TO SEE IF THEY COULD GIVE ME ANOTHER THING, AND THEY DIDNT WANT TO STOLE ME , MY MONEY, DO NOT BUY HERE 😥😥😥

2022-03-30This is a trash place, Island thrift are stealing people money, they recieved charity items for free and there selling them top price often more expensive than the brand new regular price in store.. Island Thrift shop is taking advantage of a poor population in Huntington NY these people often have no education and dont speak English. It is really painful to see how this store is take advantage of spanish population, black people and low income White people from the suburban area. The Huntington city should investigate this place...

2022-05-08I couldn’t even buy a hat because it didn’t have a price on it. Literally makes no sense. They price things at 3pm apparently and the cashier told me I couldn’t buy it because it doesn’t have a tag on it. Why was it hung up on the hat wall? I really wanted that hat. Why couldn’t she just price it then and there? Sounds like laziness to me

2019-12-14Really cool thrift store with a ton of options. I originally dropped by to drop off a mirror that we had and weren’t using but I figured I would take a look around while I was there and I was pleasantly surprised with how many things they were in stock. Everything is well laid out, everything appeared in great condition, and all the sections were laid out in a coherent manner.

2018-08-27Absolutely love this place. Aside from being a thrift shop, they keep their items very clean and the place isn’t as dusty as others I’ve visited. All tags are different colors and on Some days certain colors go on sale 50% off. On Sundays there are the most colors on sale just a heads up in case you are planning to visit and that’s the best place to go. Bring your own bag, although they do provide bags you never know what kind of bag you’re going to get ( they have random ones you can reuse) and it’s best to bring a tote. I use heavy duty garbage bags because I always fill up atleast one with great finds.I spent $100 and got atleast $300-$400 worth of stuff. New shoes for work and button downs, clothes for vacation, cute bags and tons of home goods.

2022-02-09OVER PRICED GARBAGE. Most of the stuff in there should not be for sale it’s garbage, stains, rips, etc. And on top of it the stuff that’s actually nice they charge prices that nobody could afford. For example, I found a north face winter jacket that I really wanted since my mother had the same one and she has passed. I went to buy it thinking it was $14.99 and it was $149.99. FOR THAT PRICE I CAN BUY A NEW NORTH FACE. Thrift stores are supposed to be for low income families and to help the community all Island Thrift does is take advantage of people. I will never shop here again but Island Thrift DO BETTER.

2021-12-03Prices are very high here... $6 video games when theyre $1-$2 at other thrifts. I couldnt find a GOOD deal on anything here and they have a lot of junk.Definitely will not visit again. I was in and out in minutes.

2022-04-24What is the deal with the half-price color tags? Are they running a bait and switch? They post a half off color tag sale, then it appears that select color is cleared out of the store by the staff. One day, the blue tags are half off, youll find ONLY 150 CDs with yellow tags not one blue tag can be found. Two days later I returned the half-price tag was yellow. Magically, all yellow tags are replaced by blue tabsDumbfounded, I asked a staff member about it, she claimed were always changing inventory I guess that is true, theyre changing inventory to the colors that dont coincide with the sale.Either have a sale, or dont!PS...$8 for a used scratched up vinyl record, is not actually a bargain at any color tag

2021-09-09Their prices are getting a little outrageous. For years it has been my favorite thrift store, but when the prices are higher than the regular retail store, you have to stop and thing if it is worth it. Today a framed cross stitch piece was marked $98.99. Broken figurines are $14. Pretty ridiculous. and why is the Vet Connect truck always parked outside.
