They exceeded my expectations in both the quality and the range of service given. Dropping your car off at any garage/repair shop is usually a stressful process. I love my Toyota, but it isnt a Lexus, not that it matters because they make you feel like it is. Island Toyota Service Center made it easy right from the moment you pull in. The people that help you check in are pleasant and make you feel at ease right away. Just as awesome are the people at the service desk. They answer every question you have, making you feel like you are the first person to ever ask, even if they probably hear it ten thousand times a day. They even call when they say they will. When I picked up my car it was spotless, from a bonus hand wash. Nice! When I had additional questions, Primo not only answered, but showed me how to operate some features on my display that I was unaware of. That is pretty freaking cool for such a busy place. For such a big dealership, they made me feel like I was the only customer. Very professional staff. Thank you.
My experience at Toyota Service Center was beyond great! They are all so polite, caring and professional! Even the manager came out to say a few words. Every staff member treated all the customers with such curiosity and respect! They say bringing your car to the dealer is expensive but the way youre treated and how wonderful they care for your car (even if its old).Im definitely thinking of bringing it back to get some more work done! More dealerships should take a lesson or two from them! Thank you to the staff of Toyotas Service Center!
Island Toyota service did not even do the right process on putting me into their system and that is why nothing happened to fix the tire of my car. They seemed like they dont even care about me. I got mad and they even got mad at me. They should know how to calm down but theyre not. What kind of customer service is that? Very disappointing!
Waited for two hours, before I was told they did not get to my car yet and it would be at least another three hours. It was only then they offered to take me home. Also, the waiting area is lousy, no comfortable places to sit. My last car was at Hyundai, comfortable seating, coffee, beagles available, no such amenities at Island Toyota.
Went in for an oil change and left with a destroyed roof and damaged door. After over a week of zero calls back from the dealer after I made several attempts I had no choice but to call my own insurance. Now 4 months later they have yet to provide my insurance with their insurance to pay for the damages.
My experience at this facility was OUTSTANDING.From the moment I was greeted by the associate very nice woman long black hair professional courteous attentive and caring. She even escorted me the the service desk, WowThen the service advisor Priamo was very helpful attentive explained everything that I had come in for and affirmed my requests.I waited about a hour which was good considering they take on several different car makes. Then Priamo greeted me with the final bill went over all services explained in detail. This facility really goes out of their way to ACCOMMODATE the CUSTOMER.They even washed my care. That was really great.Priamo then introduced me to the pay associate who again long black hair was very helpful who instructed me what to was done today.Even the attendee who took care of my car very courteous and professional I believe he was wearing a cap.The manager who I believe was a woman I think here name is Besa was very helpful assisting customers with any concerns about their serviceBottom line im very happy to be a Toyota customer and can absolutely say I sure did get the service that was promised with the purchase of the car.Which is hard to find nowadays.
Took the 2018 sienna for oil change. They returned this car to me and I had the feeling that I had to check for the oil. It just looked like they didnt do any thing to it and they chage me $90 dollar for the service. Low oil level and still looked freaking brown like before. Please dont ever go there for any service. Thats the best advice I could give you guys.
I would say they are adequate. Their service is often slow but thats because they are very busy. The staff is polite. The setup is a bit chaotic. I would suggest some signs to help people understand what the procedures are. The only real sign is Pull up and stop at the Stop sign but when you do no one comes to help you, at least not for a few minutes. I often walk into the main office to get assistance. Beyond that they are ok.
This car repair center is really not good. The service is poor. Changing the oil and checking it cost me more than 4 hours. I didn’t help me to fix it. The oil was not changed with the original, so I adjusted the wheat number and glass water. I didn’t add it, and the cold night did not help me. I also made a mark, which means I don’t know what to do for more than 4 hours. It really doesn’t work...
Checked in at 1040 am for my maintenance appointment today. The service manager or clerk tells me at 150 pm (3 hours later) that my car is going up the lift now.I said, after 3 hours? Now being lifted for service? His response was its always like this on Saturday!Other customers looked at me and said, 3 hours after? Why did they even give you an unreal appointment time then?
I made an appointment for 8:30AM due to the fact I work everyday except Sundays. So I went for the appointment and I was told the oil change will be done in 1:30 hour. So I waited and waited... around 10:00am I asked if it was done. I found that it was never with the mechanic so I spoke to the person who helped me he said why don’t I reschedule the appointment. I told him you are not kidding me right? Finally at 11:00am the work was done. Then this guy FRANK apparently I did not see his name tag so I called “hey my friend, can I pick up my car” he said you don’t see my name tag? You don’t call people like that.... I said ok... and he said you don’t see me calling you my friend.Great attitude, good luck to you with your customer service!
I’ve utilized this location’s maintenance services 3 times over the last year, and each time have been so impressed by their customer service and professionalism.Team members are respectful, knowledgeable, and gracious. They take time to explain what’s going on with the vehicle, elaborate upon their recommendations, and answer questions without making you feel rushed.I highly recommend using Island Toyota Service Center for your vehicle’s needs.
I chose to use Island Toyota Service because of convenience, and didnt want look elsewhere.Recently I called ahead and stopped by for an oil change, due to circumstances I couldnt wait too long, so I left the car with them for a few hours. I also asked them to perform a TSB, to which I was told no, because technicians are leaving in about an hour. I picked up my car 20 minutes before closing, turns out they forgot to do an oil change, they did a 25000 mile maintenance which consists of rotating tires and topping of fluids... Of which they dont touch a transmission because there is no dipstick, I topped off windshield washer a day before, and the rest were visible within norm.Oh, they also washed and dried my car, which was nice touch, except it was a snowy, sleety and rainy day! Makes perfect sense. So if you come here, you might want to make sure they did what you ask for before picking up your car.And when youre there, try not to ask too many questions about what was done, you could come across some attitude if God forbid you ask if a specific task was performed (not during this visit, I asked if they greased an U joint on front prop Shaft - they forgot to do it previous time - I got some attitude from someone who charged my credit card a wrong amount...)Besides for that, technicians do a pretty good job with whatever else they were performing, and were tidy and clean. My experiences here were definitely teaching moments for me.
This place is a joke. Not even sure how this place came out with 3 stars. At the front they told be the car would be done in an hour. Once you sign you name on their form they tell you 3 to 4 hours. The waiting room smells disgusting by the vending machine. Just your typical staten island car dealership.
GO ANYWHERE ELSE BUT HERE, I made an appointment got there on time left the car there they didnt service it i lost a day of pay , the guy tried to blame it on me why he didnt service my car, didnt try and make some kind of re appointment, i asked him for a quote on some work and he couldnt be bothered, they never pick up the phone on purpose you have to call 50 times. Even tho my maintenance is free from my toyota now i have to pay for it somewhere else because this service center is possibly the worst ive ever seen, no one reaches out to you.Every time im waiting on line i see people in front of me so distressed usually older people that they are ripping off on prices.they will blame Covid for there bad service practices
Im happy with the service department at Island Toyota. Ive leased three cars over the last few years from Island and the service department his one of the main reasons Ive been a loyal Toyota customer. Dealing with them has always been a pleasant experience...which is important to me. The staff is always professional, friendly, and personable, and they always try to get their customers in and out as quickly as possible.
I went in with Toyota Sienna 2018. There was a recall on the low pressure fuel pump and the check engine light came on. They were supposed to replace it for free, but there is always a catch. They diagnosed the check engine light and told me that the purge valve has to be replaced, but no guarantee of it’s going to solve a problem. When I told them no, they charged me $157 for diagnostics. Stay away from this place.
I spent 3 hours getting an oil change and state inspection and would have taken longer had I not complained as they held my car for 45 minutes, finished, without informing me.Arrived at 8:15 with an appointment at 8:20 was told it would be 90 minutes for an oil change and state inspection. Told the service guy I would be waiting, he had my number as well in case I went for a walk. at 11:08 I was fed up waiting, talked to 3 different people to get an update, finally get given the papers and told I can pick up my car, I ask how long it had been ready, apparently it had been ready for 45 minutes. They have people calling the waiting area when their cars are ready. I was never called, they just had me sitting in the waiting area for 45 minutes for no reason with my car ready for pickup. What a massive waste of time in a massively disorganized shop will never be returning.
Excellent customer service. I’ve been bringing both my cars to Toyota’s service department for a few years and they take very good care of me and my car. The service manager Besa is amazing her team tries to accommodate you any way they can. Thank you guys ! I recommend Island Toyota Service Dept to everyone.
This morning I brought my car to the Island Toyota Service Center and I was fortunate enough to have Cecilia assist me. I have owned many cars ranging from BMW to Lexus, and in all my years, I have never been as pleased with the service that I received, as I was this morning. More importantly, Cecilia is very efficient, courteous, cordial and sincere. Island Toyota is very fortunate to have an employee of her caliber working there. Cecilia’s service is excellent and she pays attention to each and every customer in her realm, answering any and all questions about the car, service, maintenance and all related matters. Cecilia is one of the most diligent service advisors that I have ever encountered. More significantly, she addressed each and every question that I had and informed me of exactly what was going on with my car.Based on the foregoing, it is my belief that Island Toyota is thriving due to Cecilia - it is a better place because of her. It is a pleasure to deal with someone who is so knowledgeable as well as courteous and efficient. If there is some sort of promotion, reward or commendation given to the employees at Island Toyota, I would highly recommend that it be given to Cecilia.
I wont go back to Island Toyota for my free two year oil changes. As you can see by the attached photo and this was true at the service center whenI received my first free oil change. They tried and still trying to scan me for wiper blades at less then 5000 miles…. Or are toyota wiper blades that bad???
The wait is far too long, training of staff is needed, communication is poor between the staff. Your hands are tied to go there because of the warranty of your vehicle. Otherwise Im off to a different service center. I own a Hyundai with the same company, and that service center is top notch. I dont know wheres the disconnect.
Good, friendly service. Called to make an appointment, and got in the next day. Only waited an hour in comfortable waiting room for vehicle inspection, which I considered reasonable wait time. Was disappointed that different Toyota Service Centers arent linked together via the computer. So they couldnt see what services the vehicle needed or were included in the lease maintenance contract. But this is Toyotas Issue, not this Service Center. Ford always could see all my vehicle maintenance records and any service department in the country could honor maintenance contracts.
I agree with the terrible reviews of this service center. They are a bunch of clowns at this dealership. They take your car and keep you in the dark for hours. Then when you eventually get your car, the work they do is sub par or mediocre at best. Oh, and be prepared for then to try to screw you out of money with their recommendations for other services that you dont need. They simply have no respect for their customers!!
Hard working guys. They were all a great time while I was there. Didnt seem like I waited long because I was having fun with everyone! George and Anthony helped me out buying me my first car and helped with my car insurance call, too. Painless experience; time will fly by here.
Im a service member of the united states army. I drove in and asked if I could drop my car off to get an oil change. I said if not can I make an appointment? The lady said no, and her employees in the back were yelling over the phone that they wouldnt take me without an appointment. It was the most disrespectful thing Ive heard over the phone as I understood when she told me the first time. They were nasty over the phone as I confronted her about what I heard. She had failed to put the phone on hold I will drove to bay ridge
So I have taken my car here for service and they take for ever! Last time I took it for maintenance they didnt reset my car! so 4 weeks after my car maintenance, the light for maintenance turned on I went back and they said they forgot to reset it! Took me 45 minutes to wait online just so I can have this problem fix! Now again I took it just 2 months ago and I specifically told then to make sure they reset it and again its turning on! Are they even doing maintenance if they told me they had reset it, mean while the light turned on again????
I promised myself not to go back but made the same mistake again. Made an appointment for 9:30 am and showed up at 9:15 they said I dont have an appointment. Simple oil change takes at least 2-4 hours . They either dont know the difference between tire rotation and tire balance or they think customers dont know anything so they can lie to them. Worst toyota service.
I made an appointment at 2 for oil change. I checked in on time and was told around 4:30 should be done. All right, it seems there is no difference with or without appointments. By 4:15, they still have not started working on my car. Had to leave without nothing’s done. I don’t recommend this place. It’s waste of time to work with them.
My experience at Island Toyota Service was a great experience. They will help you whatever your needs are. Great customer service and really makes you feel worth it. I’ve been a customer for many years and it’s always a pleasure to walk in everyone is so helpful. Besa is always helping me with any concern I have with my vehicle, any questions I have she has the answer to . Thank you Besa for always taking care of me !
I am shame on the representative ( priamo) of the island Toyota.very rude and unprofessional.asking $2200 for change four tires and brakes plus gas door . What Hell? If you not do it .charged $145 because you signed the paper already. Oh my God. I heard the he said only $45 for labor fee before I came in.He didnt care about it . He told me that it was my problem without read the paper.Be aware no to trust this guy anymore. The boss right sitting next door if you want to complain to me and enjoy your complaints. What attitude he has.
Service consultants are friendly. They offer suggestions for service but they dont push it. Waiting area has ample seating and provide complementary coffee, tea and water. There are also vending machines to purchase snacks. A shuttle bus is available to take customers home and pick them up to return to the service area. Unfortunately, as with all dealership service, cost for repairs is expensive.
JUST GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Well my mother (78yrs old) brought her car here because it had a recall. No charge and they were fast and very nice, minor recall 10 minute job. Ok now the fun begins, they tell her she needs $2629.26 worth of work.Total thieves!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!They prey on people they think they can take advantage of!For starters, new windshield wipers they wanted $60. Didnt need them I changed them a few months prior. They still work fine, paid $4.99 each.Air filter, $69! Why its brand new, I even checked it again, nothing wrong with it.They said she needed all brakes and rotors replaced, $1310.00. Now thats a joke in itself. Well I personally changed them within the last 6-8 months and remind you my mother rarely used the car. Well I went out and took off the tires and checked the brakes because she was nervous and guess what, NOT A THING WRONG WITH THEM.I would just like to say that I hope everyones elderly mother or father there at TOYOTA, goes somewhere and gets robbed just like you tried to rob my mother.JUST PLAIN DESPICABLE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I truly appreciate all of the employees at this service center. James and Priamo both gave made sure my car was up and running and really looked out for me as a customer. The service technician ( I wish I remembered his name ) took the time out to explain why my car was having issues and I really appreciated being educated on what to do to avoid having the issue occur in the future, he clearly knows what he is talking about and is highly knowledgeable. Everyone at this service center gets the job done and delivers great service! I used to go to Toyota of Hackensack but now I will be coming here ! Thank you so much 😊
Terrible service. Routinely wait more that three hours for a simple oil change. This is the last time. I will never go back. I don’t care if they gave me free oil changes for life, I would NEVER go back. Totally uncaring and not respectful of their customer’s time. I left after 3 hours without anything being done on the car.
Had two damage wheels and tires. Talk to Mr. Florian IM SPEECHLESS!! SHOCKED!! OF HOW HE TREATS YOU IN!! Even off the clock he helps you and keep you updated of hows everything going. I wouldnt go to anywhere else. OMFG!! BEST SERVICE EEEVVVVERRR! #Shoud out to my man ( Florian ). Youre the man brother!! Ladies and gentlemen if your car need service just come in! Hit my man Florian up. Extraordinary service!!! Handsdown 100%
Got there 8:29am, put down two requests, oil change and tire rotation. After 2 and 1/2 hours, I got my car back w/o tire rotation! Spoke to one of the rep, he asked me how do I know, of course I know, I have one tire which lost the cap and if you did you job, how come that missing cap tire was still at the same place? The rep then told me to speak with manager, and then after waiting for manager for 10 mins, he told me I need to talk to other rep. Oh God! Dont you know you are wasting my time? Thats how you treat your customer? I left afterward! This is not the first time but I guess it will be my last time! Mazda, I wont buy another Mazda car only because this service center! Sick of it!
I got my complimentary service from here yesterday (9/16/19) 10,000 maintence. I was seen by a Service Advisor (JoJo), whom never asked what brought me in or if I had any concerns. Upon recieiving paper work, and before signing, I asked if an presisteing issue could be taken care of.. I got a response of I already wrote you up, itll be next time cool no problem. I called to speak to a manager, and that they are busy and will recieve a call back shortly, no call; cool no problem. Upon picking up my car, I checked everything and the car was ran-sacked, I had taken pics before dropping the car, and to be precise $50 bucks was taken from the inside compartment which was not visible at all. Sticky fingers went through the car because I have a tracker on the car powered by Toyota, and a thrid party device from T-mobile. So before leaving the premisses I checked everything and the only thing changed was the oil, what about the cabin filter ? and tire rotation ? The tech who serviced my car was Isaiah Diaz (444). Also the free complinetary hand wash left scratches on the hood. Overall I tried speaking to Sal (the manager) but i was seen by Besa (another manager) I told her about the prior issue with the service advisor, cool no problem. Next after checking the car, seeing the car condition, and missing money I tried talking to her. Besa failed to show me the right sign on the first attempt on disclosure of items left in the car.I feel cheated. I feel like a little baby whos candy was taken. I have to wash my car, my OWN SELF now. Thank you very much for your experience. God Bless.
Brought the car in Friday, they found multiple things wrong. Quoted me 2350.00 to fix the issues. No one ever called me. I had to call 6 times to find out what was going on with the car. My father and I have been bringing our cars since 2009. Never had an issue. They did reduce the bill to 1800.00 for inconvenience. Got the car back Thursday. Nearly a week. They need to call even if there is an issue with car parts. They did apologize. I will continue to bring the car back, but they need to call or text about the status. JD
I used to come here all the time when it was Manfredi, and they were great. However, Ive noticed a huge decline in the quality of service since it became Island Toyota. Most notably, they have told me to get COMPLETELY unnecessary repairs twice this year. They told me I needed a new battery and drive belt. They must not even have looked at the drive belt, because it was new. And the battery was fine too. I had both checked out by other shops just to be sure. Im not sure if they made two mistakes on the same car, or if they were trying to rip me off, but neither looks good. Im taking my business elsewhere now.
Scheduling appointment easy, smooth online transaction, I was able to find schedule next day.Service advisors were friendly, not too much waiting time when dropping off the car. They give you a call once the car is fixed, so you dont need to wait there.Waiting room has coffee and bagel in the morning and cold complimentary water. Ceiling was leaking in the rainy day but thats OK if you dont go and sit under the drips.
Overpriced, played games with the billing (told me one price, then when it came time to pay it was mysteriously another price), broke my fob and lied to my face saying that it was already broken when i handed it to them, and worst of all when i started doing my own regular maintenance i saw they didnt take good care of the car. i stopped coming back after the 60k tune up, after checking on their work i saw all the fluids in the car were running low and the coolant was practically empty.
First time after the new management took over. Look like a lot had improved. Service done promptly, no pressure selling for other services. Waiting lobby look the same but had free wifi, water and bagels. Also had 2 wending machines. I was told the it may take upto 2 and a half hour for the work on the re call done . But was plesently surprised when it was done in about 1 and 1/2 hour.So far so good. If they can spruce up that lobby a little bit it would be a welcome change
This place is full of crooks and employees that just dont have any respect for your property. I came here for my first service (5k mile service) and the car was only 6 months old not a scratch on it and they gave it back to me with a huge deep scuff mark on my bumper. Then idk why I came back but I did to get my inspection done (after having the 10k service done out of state less than a month ago) and they tried telling me i had to pay over 110 dollars to have two filters replaced because they were dirty and the other service center didnt replace them. Obviously i said no way to that because something just didnt sound right with that, and after my car was done i checked my receipts n it says they were replaced, but even if they werent and the other dealership is full of crooks too, then this dealership should be replacing them for free since they are included in the free 10k and 20k services (which i realized after reading up on whats included in the services in my owners manual) Also, i noticed this time on my receipt they added at the bottom that they are not responsible for any damage done to my car (which has never been on a receipt before) and not to mention they left their trash in my car (aka coffee cups, i mean how hard is it to take the cups out of the car before u give it back, its just so unprofessional and shows how lazy they are) and the attendant drove my car back to me as if he was in a street race (which is exactly how my car was damaged the first time around too Im sure) also not to mention it took almost 3 hours to have a freakin inspection done and the place wasnt even crowded or busy or anything
I’m taking my car for oil service there since almost 3 years, the personal was always some kind of rude but over the time they got really unfriendly and unprofessional. The last time I went there this week for an oil change I had to wait for half hour just to begin with the paperwork bcs no one knew where the line is and who is next. Then they asked me where I go for the service for other things and why I’m not going there and coming to Toyota service and other bs !!!! They increased the prices by 35% and degreased the service quality. I will not go there again and don’t recommend it for anyone, very bad service and rude personal!!!!
The worst customer service ever you can find. I took my car because I had some noise from the power steering. At the end of the day I got tired of waiting and ask them not to do anything with the car. I still had to pay the diagnosis fee because supposedly the technician looked at the car and found the issue and they wanted to fix it for close to $1000. I ask them not to do anything with the car and put everything back to gather so i can go home. Now the noise from the power steering is gone and the best part is that the mechanic did not even do anything. Hey island toyota, what are you asking me close to $1000 to fix for? The guy who i dealt with said to me, why they have to call me, it was my car and I went to them and not the other way around. From the guy who works on your car to the manager, everyone wants to rip you off. I gave them one star because thats the lowest i could go....
Watch out! In 2008 I had purchased 3 cars from this dealer. Big Mistake!!!At this place most of the times they strongly pushed me to replace parts that dont need to be replace and to do unnecessary services.Sick and tired of this game. Was patient with them because they had few honest reps. Will never buy or service my car at this dealer.
I had service performed on my Toyota Avalon here and I was very impressed with the amount of professionalism and respect I received here while my car was being repaired. I was offered a ride anywhere I needed to go and they would pick me up as my car was being finished. What a great place
I went to get an oil change for my 2016 Forester XT, it has 29,000 mileson it. They said they need to check the A/C unit and add coolant, rotate tires which was done 3000 miles earlier. Change transmission fluid and filter. The total was $1269.00. Told them just change oil please. Will bring my car to my mechanic and have him due fluid changes, allot cheaper and trust worthy. Thankyou Subaru for making a good auto.
Went here to keep up the warranty on my car and hated every minute of it. A quote would be signed off for work to be done, when I went to pick up the car the work wasnt done. I got a tune up on the car and afterwards took a look under the hood to see almost all of my fluids were low even though this was supposed to be done, according to the quote. About 10k miles later I need new brake pads/rotors, also work that was supposed to be done during the tune up. Yes this tune up costed over 1k, and they didnt even do half the work they said they did. You can ask the associate behind the desk why that happened like I did only to receive a response like Well these things depend on how hard you accelerate and brake. If youre stopping short at every light they wont last. Sure its a dealership theyre going to rip you off on the price, but to not even do the work theyre saying theyre doing? Take a trip to NJ, avoid this place like the plague.
There should be a NO star option for this place. My husband brought his truck in for two recalls, then while waiting, received a call from George the office manager stating that my husbands truck needed brakes. My husband asked if there would be a charge and George said NO. Both my husband and I heard him say NO CHARGE. When my husband picked up his truck, he received a bill for almost $400. This place is a friggin RIPOFF and they LIE! Will report to the BBB. Never again!
Their service is not bad but it is not good either. Always be ready with your VIN number especially when you are buying parts even though you bought and got service from them a lot of times, they wont search up your car data. So no VIN, they wont be able to help you lol
Horror, pure horror. I feel very, Very sorry for mechanics. They are working with extremely complicated cars while earning salaries from 1970 LITERALLY ( flat rate system a.k.a. commission ) After speaking to one of mechanics heart to heart I now understand why they Must cheat, steal and lie. I now understand why customers never get even 30% of their Services done correctly, in many cases not done at all like ( throttle service, fuel injector service, coolant flush, brake flush, transmission flush, differential service brake jobs and alignments ). For them it became just a horrible job that they got stuck to while they are waiting for a better more reliable and stable job with a stable pay check. The pride of being a mechanic and helping people disappeared looooong time ago, because of a broken and almost 40 year old outdated salary system. These days in 2018 mechanics are no longer can be called mechanics, they are technicians/engineers. And they are getting paid like fast food workers. But unlike fast food workers, 2018 technicians have to constantly go to school to get certified for new technologies ( very expensive ), they constantly have to get ASEs ( expensive ), they have to constantly buy very expensive tools to keep up with new cars and all that for a minimum wage??? Long story short, if you got screwed, badly, get used to it, because problems are not just in Islands Toyota, they are across the whole mechanical field and the way I see it, it is going to get A LOT worse, before things will change for better.
Terrible entrance..its marked as exit. The cost of labor is hilariously high. Its cheap to go to Jersey get a free ride to mall and eat get a ride back. It still cheaper the the cost.Good people but not worth the cost. It must be a SI exclusive experience. Simple things here are over priced.
After attempting time and time again to make an appointment online I FINALLY got in touch with the Services department for an oil change and tire rotation. First thing Wednesday I dropped my Subaru off and they told me it would take about an hour. 3 HOURS LATER I am told my car is ready, however, the paper work and car they tried to give me were not mine. They had lost my car. I get it all worked out and went home (with the correct vehicle) The next day my car stalled out, was shifting funny in low gears and was burning off excess oil. My husband checked the oil level, noticed it was inches over the max fill line then contacted Bay Ridge Subaru to make an appointment for the following morning, they found that Island Services DID NOT do a tire rotation, they DID NOT do a proper oil change they DID simply added new oil on top of the old. The original crush seal was still on our 2015 Outback. If we had not gotten this fixed by competent mechanics a number of detrimental things could have happened to the car, to us or other drivers on the road. Terrible, irresponsible service.
Can’t believe drop off my car on Wednesday told me the next day or Friday they will give me a call update my car issue Never receive any call try to call them on Saturday from morning till afternoon. The voice mail is full and couldn’t reach anybody at this freaking location And Sunday Monday are closed. So I have to wait till Tuesday probably going in by person ask what’s going on with my car Seriously ridiculous unresponsively location don’t take your car to here
Well yes I happen to have personal knowledge that the manager at this particular establishment is ok with his employees being criminals despite being a former corrections officer apparently...in order to just keep this shop running drugs have been sold on site, domestic violence and discrimination against the disabled is ok. I honestly hope the entire establishment recievies a drug test before the manager calls anyone else names. These people are responsible for the saftey of families and apparently that is not a priority within their hiring practices. The current manager is directly capable of be held to liability lawsuit because of his words and who he keeps there. Never ever go here to have anyone come here. I understand why AAA suggested that they have had several complaints about these employees. Personally Im considering a lawsuit myself
Island Auto Group - Subaru Service. Be very leery. All I can say is get a 2nd Opinion! My car was towed there, and was told I needed a new transmission cooling radiator and related lines $1375, and theyll see if they can save the transmission I paid the $150 for the diagnostic fee and took it to my sons trusted mechanic and all it needed was the lines tightened, and to refill the fluid. $190 w/ Labor.
While I like the overall experience of the service department work.. I have to say the have the worst service department / parts website.,.. I try to budget my expenses for service... But it is impossible to get online to view parts , service, costs and appointments... This definitely spoils the Toyota experience in what is otherwise Great Service...DJR :)
I came here 3 times and they dont even touch my car , every time they say that I have to leave my car for more than one day and they are very rude with costumers, one more thing , my car is brand new and still on warranty and ive read all the policies and they tried to charge me money, please dont go there , you will be disappointed
Cant get the basics rightTook 4 drive ins and one appointment for them to tell me they dont know how long a NYS inspection would takeNobody knows anything, simple questions take multiple people 10+ minutes to answerThey didnt seem welcoming to working on my 10 year old CamryIm sorry, its got a Toyota badge on the grille, you dont want to work on it because Im not a money customer, warranty or recall job?Parts counter and parts manager Isabel are on point, maybe service staff should take notesIn their defense, they are quite crowded, with Mazda/Subaru and Toyota all jostling for one service driveBut thats no excuseIm not going back for service, they dont seem to want my simple business of a NYS inspection, I wouldnt humor them with more major service work...
I had many experiences there and i will never go back, I had an appointment and the manager told to come another day without scheduling me for another time and i took another appointment, i dropped my car at 10 am , 5 hours later an assistant called me and asked me what was the problem with my car and again he told me to come another day,3 rd times , i came at 8 am and both of manager and the boss started arguing and talking rude and they suggested me to go to another place cz i have a brand new car on warranty, please dont go there
Worst experience I ever had will never go back to them when Manfredie was incharge they washed my car asked me if there was any thing else they can do 4 me now nothing they didnt even put in windshield wiper fluid all the money they get wiper fluid light was they couldnt cheap ducks or rotate my tires the said that we have to buy new ones
Since the new people took over it is horrible I was told free oil changes while I lease my vehicle but now they tell me know and Pepe said he was staying lie of course not here today how I miss dealing with Manfredi they treated you the right way cant wait for this lease to be over its either Chevy or off the island to leaseor off the island to lease want nothing to go with Islsnd ever again

2021-09-28Dont waste your time. Went in for a simple oil change cant even do that right. Tried to talk to the service adviser about what I want done to my brand new 2021 legacy that I just bought from island Subaru. Instead listening to my concerns and questions they pushed me off and said we will call you before they touch the car, I tired to ask another question stated again we will call before we touch your car I tired to say one more thing and again they say we will call you before we touch your car. Well 2 hours later they call and say your car is finished and ready to be picked up. And started listing all the things they did to it with out my approval. We did an oil change we top off you fluids and we wash your car. 1. I have no idea what oil they put into my car or even if the right one nor do I get a say what oil to put into the car. I doubt they used Subaru oil, probably an extra charge which I dont mind paying. But Ill never know. 2 my car is ceramic coated and requires a special washing process minimize swirl marks on the car and it is black car so it shows up very easily. Didnt get a chance to tell them not to wash is because again they stated they will call before they touch it. Went picked up they car didnt even bother to address the problem because I knew I would never be back there. Well what sealed my concerns is when I popped the hood and I find a puddle of oil sitting where my filter is as you can see from the photo. I figured it was the old oil from how dirty it is but I would still have to clean and check it for the next couple of days to make sure my BRAND NEW CAR oil change was done properly and not leaking oil. Well I learned my lesson and I will never go back. They only reason I went because I bought a packed with them for oil changes but rather eat that cost then to use them anymore.

2022-05-20I brought my certified RAV4 that I purchased at Bay Ridge Toyota in to Staten Island Toyota for a free oil change tire rotation and inspection. The first question I was asked was did I buy the vehicle here at Staten Island. I replied no. After 5 minutes I was sent to the office and told by the service department clerk that my car was not certified and my oil change or tire rotation was not free I was told that they made a mistake in the computer. So I did not have the service done. I then called Bay Ridge Toyota and was told that the car was actually certified and that my services were actually covered as it was supposed to be. Staten Island Toyota on Quintard Road just simply didnt want to do the service because I didnt buy the vehicle there. All cars are supposed to be serviced at any dealership regardless of place of purchase. I would stay away from that dealership

2022-04-06I called mazda service, told to bring the car in.First impression, Im met with an ATTITUDE, as in how dare do I have a problem with the car. Next part, because I didnt take the car from this location, from this dealership, talking to me was less of a less of a priority. If I ran my business the way these people run theirs, Id close 20+ years ago.

2022-07-08Terrible operation! Go to Bay Ridge Toyota instead.I run a private shop and used to use Island Toyota regularly for OEM parts, we havent been able to a get a human on the phone for days, Managers are never there, receptionists are polite but useless, Parts department places you on hold indefinitely prior to any inquiry about the reason for your call. THEY DONT WANT YOuR BUSINESS, SPEND YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE!!!

2022-01-09I took a car in for its annual inspection which they said they did, and I found out a year later that they did NOT, and now I need to pay the penalty late fee. I have email confirmation from them for the annual inspection, so I am pretty peeved. I also waited about 4 hours. Do not take your car here.

2022-01-06The service technician Primo was an immense help with my Toyota Prius. I didn’t know who else to take my hybrid to on Staten Island for the best care. The Toyota service center took care of my car and properly diagnosed my car’s issue. Primo provided expertise and advice too! This was helpful as someone that doesn’t know cars well. Plus, I was out of state the entire time that my car was being worked on, so Primo made sure to coordinate with me, keep me updated, and coordinate with the tow trucks that dropped off and picked up my vehicle. I’m really grateful for such attentive care. I would recommend Prius owners take their cars to this service center for work, diagnostic issues, and expertise advice for their hybrids.

2021-12-11Had badly rusted lower steering shaft (on 2017 4runner) mostly I do all of the work myself because Im very picky when it comes to the shops. However I was short on time recently and decided to get it fixed at the dealership before the winter kicks in (warranty was already gone) , they charge way more than your usual shop so I figured the quality of the work needs to be top. So i brought the car (on Saturday morning) for steering shaft replacement and they insisted to replace steering knuckle as well. I went with that, they replaced both plus wheel alignment. I live fairly close so I didnt take the highway to get home when I picked up the car (Tuesday eve). Couple days later when I was finally on the highway I felt steering wheel shake at 50mph , which I never experienced before with this car. Then I noticed my steering wheel felt very bouncy whenever I drove over a pothole or speedbump ,it would wobble left and right. So I made second appointment with the dealership , they redid the alignment and rechecked the steering shaft (supposedly). They did everything free of charge. I was also told that their tech drove my car on highway to 65mph and steering wheel didnt shake. I was happy to hear that ,however I decided to test it out myself and guess what problem is still there , shakes at 50-60 and wobbles on bumps and holes. I dont know if its worth going there for the 3rd time. I may need to check it out myself after the winter because I have wasted enough of my time and now regret going there in the first place, figured a random shop might have done better job for half the price but who knew. Avoid if the repair is not covered by the warranty!

2022-03-19Terrible customer service. Told service advisor not to call or leave a message. If anything to call back 1 hr later. The mechanic proceeded to call me where I have no phone service. Horrible.
