Islander Pools and Spas Inc. in other cities:
Our 1st choice for pool supplies and patio! I am thrilled with our new Berlin Gardens furniture and Treasure Garden umbrella. The Donoma Fire Pit table is even better than I imagined. The quality of Berlin Gardens is obvious. Karen D. was so patient with me over many months while I went back and forth with options. I drove over from Pittsfield on a Saturday morning, and she spent time with me answering questions and showing me all the choices. She even matched the price of the umbrella from another website! Delivery was a great service and they set up the furniture with great care.Islander initially installed our pool almost 16 years ago, and it is still in great shape! We had to buy a new liner last year, and Islander again provided great service and a great installation. They are our go-to for any pool supplies and equipment, and they have guided us with professionalism ever time! THANK YOU ISLANDER POOLS!
I emailed in with a couple questions at about 8pm on a Friday night, I expected I would get a response when they opened the next morning. That was not the case, Chris had emailed back within 30 minutes to provide all the info I requested. I went in to the store the next day and purchased my pool table. Ken was pleasant and helpful and the purchase went smoothly. Our delivery was set up for the following weekend(delay due to our busy work schedules) the gentleman that came to install the table were friendly and knowledgeable (a good find on Islanders end) I am very happy with the table, the service I received. I will refer people there and buy my hot tub there as well when it comes time
We recently had Islander Pools install a new liner in our built in pool. Steve and John were the installers. I cant emphasize enough how professional they were. They did an excellent job! They made our 20+ year old pool look like new! I dont believe they missed one detail! It wasnt just the awesome job they did, but it was how knowledgeable they were about their product. They answered every question we had without hesitation. We would definitely recommend Islander Pools and Spas and we expect to be repeat customers should we need a new liner again!Thank you Steve and John!!!Deb C.
We are so happy with the service we receive at Islander!! We had our liner replaced in the spring, it went very smoothly and quickly. They did an excellent job!! Every time we go in for chemicals or water tests, everyone is super nice and very happy to help. It’s a great place and everyone there really knows their stuff!! An extra big thank you to Nick, he always goes out of his way to help and give advice. THANKS!!
I had a service emergency, frozen pipes to the motor, and the Islander service technician came right out on a frigid Saturday to assess and repair. The tech then came back first thing Monday to finish. The quick response by Islander, particularly Vince, turned a potential loss into a routine matter.
I wanted to share that I really have enjoyed every sales and service experience I’ve had with Islander Pools. I have a hot tub, that came with my house purchase, bought at Islander Pools. Recently, my hot tub control panel stopped working. I called and spoke with Dave in the service department. He immediately knew what the problem was based on my description. He initially quoted a charge of $1200 for the 2 parts needed. Of course, I nearly fell off my chair and was crying when I gave my credit card info (not really—you can’t take it with you!). I was pleasantly surprised when my bill was half of what was quoted (only needed 1 of the parts). I am very grateful for the honesty (they could have very easily replaced both). I highly recommend Islander Pools for your sales and service needs.
Used Islander to close our pool for the first time. We were fortunate to have Vince complete the project. Vince was fantastic. Closed the pool all by himself. He was friendly, courteous and very professional. Has a work ethic you don’t see too often anymore. Couldn’t be more pleased! We also had the pleasure of having Tyler come out earlier in the season to deal with a pump leak. Tyler was also fantastic. Overall, very pleased with the service provided by Islander Pools.
I thought I had to replace my pool Dave sent over a gentlemen named Jason to review some rust I had on my pool These guys are the best to deal with told me I had to make some repairs on opening the pool next year. But didn’t need a new pool. Honesty today is a dying virtue these guys are the best. I recommend them to the highest. Thank guys see you in the spring. Stay safe
Follow up to the salt pool system installation: a tech replaced the unit. It now works. Islander NEVER called or followed up in any way as the response to my first review stated.I have used Islander for all my pool needs for over 15 years. New pool pump, winter safety cover, new liner, new filter, all my chemicals and pool needs. When they installed the salt system, they couldn’t get it right. It never produced chlorine. I had to make multiple visits weekly for testing, always having to buy chemicals and run the pump 24 hours a day. Turns out, they had the salt level too low because they had the incorrect salt generator listed on my account. So they gave me more salt (because you pay for salt when you buy the system) and charged me for more chemicals. I’ve been unnecessarily buying chemicals and running my pump for months due to their mistake. At the register, I said “I’ve been buying unnecessary chemicals due to your error, and you’re going to charge me again for your mistake?” She said “I’m sorry”. My 15 + years as a loyal customer was just sold to the competition for $14.72.(Reading reviews I see a trend…either your experience is good or, if there is an issue…it is never their problem.)The response says that the chlorine generator is now working…Islander had a tech replace it and then I had to go buy MORE CHLORINE. I spent nearly $2,000 to convert my pool to this system and every time I have Islander test the water, I have to buy more chlorine…WHICH IS WHAT THE $2,000 SYSTEM IS SUPPOSED TO PRODUCE! So let’s see if it’s actually producing chlorine before you claim that the problem is resolved.So….the system is working flawlessly. Thank you to the tech that fixed the problem. We added up the cost of the chemicals that we had to buy while the system wasn’t working…almost $500.Islander pools never even bothered to call to see if the replacement was operational. Provided everything goes as planned, Islander Pools will deliver…if things don’t go as planned, you can plan on a few things: 1:You will cover the costs for their errors. 2: Correcting problems and customer service is secondary to sales. 3: You are one of a large number of customers…if they lose you as a customer, they don’t really care.
The team at Islander Pools was exceptional at properly diagnosing the source of the leak in my inground pool. I say properly as a competitor said I had three leaks in my waterlines requiring $2k worth of work plus the cost for a new liner. In the end Islander nailed it as all I needed was a liner to replace my 18 year old one.I selected a new liner and within a week it was perfectly installed and looking fabulous again.I also use Islander to open and close my pool each year along with their chemicals (Simple Blue). In the end all I want is to deal with a Company that is honest, knowledgeable and timely. At Islander I hit the trifecta! Thanks to Chris and all of the Islander Team.
Islander came through at the last minute for our above ground pool request. The installers - Professional Pool Installers - were just great. So professional and efficient. We are very confident in their work and know we will enjoy this pool for many years. My only recommendation is to have a quick pump instructional session with the homeowner.
I bought my hot tub from Islander 10 years ago and unfortunately have had to use the service department on many occasions i.e., pumps, motherboards etc. I just wanted to give a shout out to Herb who has been a constant in the department and very helpful and accommodating even when I had an insurance claim. All of the service techs have been very professional and thorough and patiently explain the issue. I called for a pump issue which I have had it recently replaced; they were out within a few days and Taylor did the service- thankfully it was only a fuse and I was not charged. As a long term customer, this was very much appreciated not to be charged for the call or the fuse this time. Thank you Herb and team!
So, this may be a slightly long story.Have had a pool for about 36 years and my wife has taught somewheres between 1300@1400 kids to swim in the pool over the last 36 years. I have always opened it and closed it and enjoy doing it but in attempt to save time we had a different service come in this time to open and close the pool. After they had opened it, but not cleaned it, I noticed that my pressure was up at 20 pounds. I called most of the local pool places and even went in to speak to a few of them and they all told me that clearly I had a dirty grid. I have probably taken the grid out and cleaned it well over 100 times and I knew it wasn’t dirty but I did it again just to be sure. That made no difference so I removed the grid assembly entirely and still had 20 pounds of pressure. I brought the output pipes over to Islander Pools and they were the first one to agree with me that it didn’t make any sense, that it wasn’t the grids and there must be something stuck inside the output line. With my permission, and even at my urging, I followed their advice and had them cut it open only to find a one and a quarter inch plug that has been left inside. I was ecstatic to find the rationale for the high pressure but now of course I couldn’t run my pool at all because we had broken it apart. They had me wait while they got a pipe to patch the missing portion, Rebuilt it, and sent me back and everything works beautifully. These guys absolutely know what they are doing. If you have a problem with your pool skip everyone else and go to them. Their prices are very reasonable, they have almost everything in stock, and they are willing to listen to you as a customer. Absolutely worth five stars.Ray Seligman
We had our pool scheduled to open in early April hoping for an early season. The pool was opened and we were horrified to discover our liner was a mess. After some consulting we realized we needed a new liner and called Islander Pools. From that phone call, the entire process was unbelievably professional. They pointed us in. the direction of a liner that they could get quickly ( with covid issues we were expecting trouble ) , they quoted deadlines and met every single one of them to the minute. The price was fair, the service amazing. The showed up at the exact time they promised and did a beautiful job. We enjoyed our pool in time for the recent heatwave. I cant say enough wonderful things about Islander and the fabulous customer service we received. Highly recommend !!
Islander has the nicest people working for them, but the bottom line is they have visited my house 3 times this season, charing $265 each visit, and I still do not have a working pool. I am a new homeowner and first time pool owner, and the problem is they talk so fast and assume you understand more than you do. They work quickly and explain things once and fast. The first visit they didnt bring everything they needed because they didnt realize I had a sand filter (they didnt ask, and I was charged full opening price for the visit and them just dumping chlorine in the pool). The second visit they came and set up the filter and shocked the pool. What they missed (and I had no way of knowing without them telling me, and the gentlemen knew I was a first time pool owner) is that I did not have a.skimmer basket inserted. Thus, all of the leaves entered the sand filter and caused some disturbance wherein the filter was on for 4 or 5 days and not actually filtering anything. There was no water returning into the pool. I had no idea until my neighbor discovered this. I called Islander and they told me to backwash multiple times and see if that resolved it. It did not, as the pressure going back into the pool remained very low. Due to all the backwash, the pool lost 2 - 3 inches that I was going to replace this evening ahead of my appointment with Islander tomorrow. Unfortunately, they showed up a day early and just left a note (add 2 - 3 inches to the pool), charged me another $265.00, and left. Islander might be great for experienced pool owners, but if you dont know what youre doing yourself look elsewhere, perhaps at smaller places that will take more time and really help you learn how to have a pool. I am highly disappointed that Ive spent almost $900 with Islander and have received nothing.
My Husband & I went to Islander Pools searching for a Patio Set for our new patio. We were not sure what would be available or even what we thought we wanted. Karen at Islander was our Salesperson. She was very attentive to us and our wants & needs. When we were not finding Our Set on the showroom floor, Karen suggested looking at a few catalogs. She was an excellent listener and answered all of our multitude of questions. She was extremely knowledgeable about her product line, very professional, patient and accommodating. It was a pleasure to work with her. It was so easy to communicate. We made several trips into the showroom before we decided on Our Set of Choice. We placed a Special Order, hoping when it arrived it would be ideal. The furniture arrived in the time frame quoted and was delivered and set up on our patio within a matter of days. Karen even helped us with a payment plan we are using to make affordable payments over a 6 month period with No Interest. Our table with umbrella, 4 chairs and a bench seat is absolutely Perfect. We are Very Happy and would highly recommend Karen and Islander Pools.
Cant thank the Islander Pools & Spas team enough! We have been doing business with Islander since Andrew first sold us a hot tub and then outdoor furniture for our screened porch back in the early 1990s. Then we replaced the hot tub and added an in-ground pool after we moved to a different house. (We still have the furniture-thank you Lloyd Flanders!) We recently had trouble with our pool heater and our oil & gas company who had been repairing it because of our all-inclusive service contract couldnt fix it. We called Islander to ask advice and Dave came to our rescue. It took a bit to figure out the problem but thanks to Dave, the heater is as good as new. Hats off to the entire service team - headed by Herb - for their patience in trying to solve the problem as opposed to just trying to make us buy a new heater which was not necessary at all.
We recently bought a house and it came with an above ground pool. We didnt know the condition of the pool and thats why we decided to do a search for pools companies in the area. We saw that Islander POOLS & SPAS has the best reviews. Now I know why they have great reviews. My Experience started on my initial phone call. They were very professional and answered all my questions. On April 9th, 2021 they sent Vince and another guy and they were very professional and helpful and answered all my questions. I did not have the pool ready when they came and reached to Herb the Service Manager and he was able to give me another appointment to when I get the pool ready. Also I went to the store and the people at the store have so much knowledge about what they sell and do. Islander POOLS & SPAS you have earned another customer. Thank you for your excellent Customer Service.
We purchased an above ground pool this year from Islander pools and absolutely love it! The gave us the best service! The quality of the pool was so much better than other pool places we looked at. We purchase a simple salt system, we couldn’t believe how easy it is to maintain the pool. They made it so easy with everything that we needed. Their installers were very professional and did an amazingly job! We were able to swim in the pool the next day!
My pool and spa maintenance has been made easy. Until I found Islander pools I struggled with keeping my pool and spa chemicals in spec. Now I bring samples in once a week in the bar coded containers that Islander pools provided for free. With out change and with a smile Gabbie and Dani test my water. Most weeks a get a gold star on my printed water analysis. And when I do need to add some chemicals (no pressure to purchase from Island pools) the two young ladies mentioned above are eager to help. Overall a great experience with great employees.
I usually don’t take time to post reviews , but I want to share my experience . I was shopping for a pool heater. After calling several companies, Islander had what I wanted in stock, was very competitive and installed same week. Today it’s hard to even get a call back from some businesses . I would highly recommend islander.
When buying a hot tub, you are also buying service. I love my hot spring tub but occasionally it requires a service call from Islander. These guys are on-top of things and get you running again quickly. Their technician Dave is extremely knowledgeable and personable too.
Purchased a hot tub that islander had taken back in on trade from another customer. Probably my first mistake. Promised 3 headrests for the tub as they were missing. Tub was delivered headrests were not with delivery, told due to covid they are on back order. After several calls to islander I gave up, ordered myself and received in standard time. 10 months from the purchase of my hot tub, it stops running. Call for service and they responded same day, told everything was all set as I wasn’t home at the time. Arrive home tub is dead, call islander back, they return the next day slap another fuse in tell me I’m all set. Tub stops running within the hour. Call them again to be told you need a control board. They came drained the tub, and winterized. Call back one week later to see about control board time frame, told give them another week. Call in another week get told all spa packs are on back order. Call back one month later. Get told to find parts myself and call them for the install. I was provided part numbers by islander that haven’t been valid in years. Obvious part changers that can’t even keep up on what parts are currently being used and sold. I can understand parts being back ordered due to covid. But I can’t wrap my head around being in the spa business and not knowing what is and isn’t currently sold or used in the market. I’d never purchase from islander again as they don’t stand by what they say or sell nor are they knowledgeable on parts.
I have an inground pool and I had a broken pump. We went to Islander Pools to pick up the pump and young young woman named Kay, Who by the way is a ‘little bit of a girl’ assisted us. I’m not gonna lie, the tiny stature of this young lady gave me pause-and was an attribute that would make me take her for granted insofar as her knowledge with something so complex as electrically hooking up a pump. This young woman not only knows what she’s doing but she took the extra time when I came back the next morning because I couldn’t figure out the wiring. She took the pump and wired it up in their back workshop and then showed me how to do it properly. I photographed her work and then went home and hooked my pump up with no problem whatsoever! and hooked it up for me and her background, It was a small problem, and something that only an expert would know and be able to diagnose.. Kudos to this young lady! She makes all women proud and Islander Pools should be very glad to call her a member of the staff!!
We purchased a radiant pool through Islander in June and the entire process was smooth from beginning to end. Andy Apple is very knowledgeable and helpful through out the process. The install crew was courteous and did a great job. The free class offered on pool closing was in depth and very useful. Highly recommended to all new pool owners! Would absolutely recommend Islander to anyone looking to purchase a pool!
Im new to owning an above ground pool. Ive been to Islander a few times this season and Ive been pleased with every interaction. The staff is helpful, kind, and knowledgeable. Im also incredibly happy with how seriously they are taking covid precautions. I feel safe and even with the precaution, all of my transactions have been very quick. If youre looking for an efficient team, head to Islander!
I love Islander pools! They are so professional, helpful, and organized. The Curbside pick up was excellent, quick, and employees wore masks. I recently had a bad customer service experience at Del Gallo so will now only go to Islander. Islander has been my place of choice for years until I moved.
My family has used islander pools for over a decade now and we could not be happier. The quality and pricing of their chemicals is great. Buying cheap chemicals online is tempting but you get what you pay for. For a fraction more you will get quality products and the personal service and support to help you take care of your pool.Their staff is always very knowledgeable and every time we have had an issue with our pool they have gotten us fixed up in no time. We also purchased our Berlin Gardens patio furniture from them and couldnt be happier with that experience. Their service/parts department is also top notch. Incredibly friendly and knowledgeable and always take care of me.
Needed to replace my original motor and pump. Actually had bought my pool from them maybe 35 yrs ago. Pulled into parking lot they had a tent setup with lines for online, phone, water test and in-store purchases. I had called previously so I knew what I needed. I didnt go in the store, gave the person my order they brought it outside they only take credit cards right now. Fast and easy. They had these White River brand motor pump combos. Got a 1 hp model this thing is awesome. Very easy fit to my filter system this thing is ultra quiet. My old motor had bad bearings too much noise. Fully recommend this place
We had a great experience with Islander pools. Delivery and installation was on time. The installation team were friendly and explained everything we needed to know to get the pool up and running. The store provides water testing and has a great selection of products. The staff there is responsive and helpful for resolving issues in person and over the phone.
Finally bit the bullet and purchased a real pool. I shopped around and found Islander to be the best. Have a few friends that have purchased from them.as well. I liked that it was a 1 stop shop. I didnt need to make arrangements for an installer, electrical, or anything else. I dealt with Andrew and this man knows his stuff. I have been in customer service my entire life and this guy is spot on. He runs an amazing operation with great staff. Pool has been great and enjoyed by entire family. Currently at pool school learning how to close it up. Full class, lots of questions as many have different types of pools and filters. Andrew has it covered not skipping a beat answering all questions and sharing his years of knowledge to make it easier for us. And offering great specials on items we would have to buy any way. If you are in the search for a pool and want peace of mind knowing once its sold to you that your not just a transaction and now on your own, buy from Islander. You will not be disappointed! And stick with Simple Blue, its worth the money in the long run
Chris went above and beyond for us. We wanted to replace the low quality/rickety steps that came with our pool with a much sturdier set I researched online from Confer Plastics in Tonawanda, NY. Problem is between Covid and the Resin plant shutdown in Texas, you cant get them anywhere, everyone is out of stock. I was resigned to the fact of not being able to get them this swim season (or even next), but Chris worked directly with myself and Confer Plastics to get a set shipped directly from Confer to Islander for me to pick up. Less than a week later I had my new steps and they are installed in our pool for us to enjoy this season. Chris came through for us and we really appreciate it!
I inquired online about buying a Olhausen pool table and randomly came across Islander Pools. Chris called me back right away. He had the transaction remotely handled in two days. Two weeks later my table was delivered to an Adirondack home with custom felt and expert installation. From beginning to end the process was outstanding and the experience was perfect. I highly recommend Chris and his team at Islander Pools if you are in the market for a high-quality pool table.
Tyler performed a service call at our home for a pool pump that wouldn’t prime. He was courteous, knowledgeable, thorough and professional. He took the time to explain what the problem was and what he was going to do to fix it. He took the time to answer a few extra questions I had and he offered recommendations based on a few observations he made. Very impressive! Could not have asked for a better experience!
Was given great service. Took the time to explain all the different styles of pools an which would be best for my yard. Very friendly all around great service. They had Home Plan Construction come in an install my new pool let me say I couldnt be more pleased on how fast they were an how great of a job they did. They even cleaned up all the trash that I was suppose to be responsible for. All an all the two together made a great team an me a happy customer!!
When we shopped around for a replacement pool Islander was the most responsive and friendly customer service and also had the best prices in the area! The installation crew was on time and efficient. If I ever need another pool or decide to purchase a hot tub I wouldn’t go anywhere else!
I purchased a house with my first pool in late May. Knowing very little about functioning a pool the people at Islander were definitely an integral part of me being able to get it running.Islander’s people that handle water testing/chemicals, the personnel on the sales floor, Herb the service manager and Vince that worked on my pool are all amazing. All professional and knowledgeable. Not pushy at all and fair pricing.Run the way businesses should be run!
Staff is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. They offer free classes for the novice pool owner. The reason I did not give 5 stars is due to the installation option. The pool owner is responsible for getting the building permit. Although I wanted my pool installed, I ended up having to do it because I would need to have workers comp insurance to have them install it. Aside from installation, things have been very good.
We had to replace our 5 year old pool due to winter damage, so we decided to purchase the Radiant pool. The whole process was seamless from purchase write up by Chris 30 min from closing to the install. We put up a deck on the old pool that was 54 inches high but the Radiant pool is only 52 inches high. Our installer Ron said he wanted to raise up the new pool as there was enough material to do so. Ron and his 2 Techs (3 guys total) installed the pool in 2.5 hours and were cleaned up and loaded 30 min later. Ron and crew went above and beyond for us , they are an extension of a fantastic company at Islander Pools. They are very friendly and have customer service down pat! You dont have to look for replacement parts on line for better pricing as they are usually in stock and cost less at the store. I HIGHLY Recommend Islander Pools , Chris and His staff have the Highest Integrity from the sales floor to Installation. Thank You All for an Outstanding Job!
I purchased a hot tub a few years back that leaked continuously. I had the tub for four years, three under warranty, and it had been serviced for leaks more times than I can count. Joe, the service manager, was patient and understanding of my situation and always was quick to send a service man out. Appartently this make had many ongoing problems according to online reviews, and Islander no longer carries it I noticed when visiting the store. No surprise there! So, with the tub leaking in yet another place after just having two leaks fixed, I decided to cut my losses and upgrade after four years. Moe, a salesperson at Islander, helped me make my decision painlessly and was a pleasure to deal with. I felt he was honest and trustworthy and got me the best deal possible.Bottom line, the only reason I went back to Islander to get a new tub after a horrible experience with the one I purchased was because of Joe in service. I think he recognized the high price I paid for the initial tub did not match the quality, and he did what he could to make up for that. A lemon tub was out of his control, however, recognizing that and doing to best he could to make up for it is, and that is outstanding customer service. Coupled with my great experience with Moe on the purchase of my new tub, I will be going back to Islander again and again.
Great experience from time of purchase and each subsequent trip for supplies or water testing. I am a second time above-ground pool owner and love the move from chlorine to simple blue - its so easy. A little more $$, but worth it. Andrew and all the staff are great and knowledgeable. Went to the pool school and never thought I would learn anything - but I was wrong - picked up several closing tips, including - dont crank down your cover too tight!!
Kenny Bomba. Thank u so much for all ur help and guidance in purchasing our 24 above ground pool. The transaction was seamless and his .attention to my needs were impeccable. If the weather cooperated we would have had our pool memorial day weekend. If u are looking, researching pools go see Kenny Bomba at Islanders pools. U will not be sorry u did. Sincerely. Ralph and Rosemary Planz of Altamont.
Got a quote of $499 via email for something from Chris DiBianco. When I showed up to purchase it the price was $549. I bought it and when I got home I emailed Chris to ask if the person cashing me out may have made a mistake. He apologized, saying he quoted the price from memory. I was okay with that. Things do happen. But then he said he could make the difference up in chemicals. Great! This is why I purchased a pump and filter from them a few years ago and went back to them for this other item. These are honest guys. I will keep going back to them as long as I have a pool.
Our salesman, Andrew Apple led us through the process of buying our first pool. From start to finish he made this purchase easy. His class on closing the pool was very informative and beneficial. It really make closing the pool simple and not complicated. I would recommend anyone buying a pool to consider ISLANDER because customer service was excellent.
Absolutely thrilled with our new in ground radiant pool! Kudos to our efficient and personable installers JAKE, Randy, Jeremy and Matt. It was truly amazing to watch them build our pool in just a few days. Our sales manager Andrew was exceptional and very responsive to every email/phone call. Islander Pools was top notch from day one!
Our family purchased a pool this summer from Islander in Albany. We were very pleased with the entire process. The staff was friendly and the installation was very smooth. Moe was extremely helpful and quick to answer any questions we had. When we encountered a minor maintenance problem , he was able to assist and provide what we needed immediately. Also the variety of outdoor furniture is very impressive!
I called them to repair my hot tub which had lost all power. On the first visit their tech decided that it was a bad circuit board. Another tech came out and installed a new board. After installing the board, he discovered that the problem was caused by something else which was an easy fix. He then uninstalled the new board and reinstalled the old one at no extra cost. His honesty saved me over $400. He could not have been nicer about all the extra work he had to do. I highly recommend these folks if you need a spa repair!
Just wrapped up my complimentary pool end of season closing training seminar and Could not be more please with the level of knowledge and expertise that the staff is equipped with. All my questions and needs were happily addressed and I was provided with a wealth of resources to help protect my pool. I would highly recommend Islander Pools to anyone looking to invest in a pool for their home. The amount of ease through the entire process has been incredible and easy to follow through with. I left today feeling very confident and happy with my decision to do business with this amazing company.
We got there close to closing with no appointment and Nick stayed after to help us find the right above ground pool. He was very informative and funny. I would highly recommend going there if you’re looking to buy a pool. Very good prices and great service. Looking forward to possibly buying a hot tub soon. Thanks Nick, we sealed the deal!!
We have been going to Islander Pools for a few years now but this year seemed to be the year there was one issue after the next. I was so stressed out but each visit there they resolved the issues with their knowledge and their customer service. Kyle and Zack were our go to guys....they are like family now 😂They took our calls, the time to explain each fix, had us take pictures of the issue and walked us through it even over the phone. This is our go to place. They are the Bom. Com. Thanks for all the help. Respectfully, the interracial couple (don’t get offended sensitive people it’s our inside joke)
My experience has been exceptionally favorable. Everyone is so helpful, and always available and willing to answer any questions. The pool closing class was a real plus. Andrew did a great job and i feel like he went the extra mile to make it easy for first time pool owners.
To start off Ive owned a Vita Spa for about 10 years. I purchased it new from Islander years ago. Ive always been disappointed in their customer service since day one. Anytime Ive had to order new parts they never have them in stock and I always have to wait about 2 weeks to receive them. This is always great especially in the winter months when a hot tub will freeze. Today I called and I needed a new board for my Vita Spa as it burned up. I called and like always it will be a 2 week wait. I was quoted around 300 bucks for the board. I then got a price on a topside and was quoted about another 300. I then wanted to get a price on a new heater tube and I was told Islander could not get me one because not only did Vita Spas go out of business but so did the company that made the heater. This is just great. So I searched around google to see if someone else could help. Found another local place who could replace everything and they had it all in stock. They are coming in a few days to replace everything and they saved me about 100 bucks. So before you buy from Islander look around a little and youll find that other hot tub stores do exist that give you better customer service and are more reasonably priced on parts.
I bought a 28 round above ground pool 2 years ago from Islander Pools. This will be our 3rd season with the pool and everything has been great! They recommended the Simple Salt system which is excellent! Way better than chlorine. Easier to maintain. They have been very helpful with any questions that I have had and are great about shipping chemicals which is convenient since I live about an hour away. I have been and still recommend them to anyone looking to purchase a pool or have any questions about their pool.Mike
Purchased a new pool from Islander this summer. The experience was pleasant and you did not feel pressured. They give you a wealth of information so you can make informed decisions. Today attended a free pool closing class that they offer. They walk you through the whole winterization process and stop to answer all questions. We worked with Andrew Apple who is responsive to your concerns, including answering e-mail. He also presented the free pool closing class and gave great discounts on associated products and accessories to the class!
As a first time pool buyer, it was great to have people who were willing to answer all the questions you had. Installation was great, Moe is a great sales person, very knowledgeable and patient. An overall great experience. I would definitely recommend Islander to anyone...
Needed a new hot tub to replace our 12 year old model. Islander Pool has the best selection. Prices Are very competitive, and you know this company will be around In case there are problems. Our sales person, Kenny Bomba was knowledgeable and responsive from our first meeting to the final installation. When our pool was delivered, they removed the old spa for no additional cost. We found out that the deck under the old spa was rotted and would not hold the new tub. Islander re-delivered the new tub at no additional delivery cost after we fixed the foundation. We have been very pleased with the new tub; it holds to 103 degrees for two hours at 20 degrees on a windy night! Very satisfied!
Islander pools has been amazing through the entire process of purchase, installation and follow up. We put in a radiant pool at the end of last season and have gone through them this year to add a heater. They have been helpful and accommodating throughout everything!
Purchased a new pool liner for our pool which we had purchased at Islander acouple of years ago. We were told it could take until the middle of July or possibly August before we could have it installed. We got a call from Brian Lasher from A Sunny Day Pool and let us know that he could install it this week. Happy to say Brian and his crew did a wonderful job. Extremely happy with the results. Would recommend using Brian if you need a replacement liner. Happy family in Colonie!
I was nervous about the wait time, with new covid-19 restrictions, and these guys are amazing! They’ve got lots of staff tag teaming lines, so even a long line moves quickly. Amid all the mayhem they’re still super patient and accommodating to a first time pool opener like me! Thank you so much Island Pools!!!
We took the pool closing class with Andrew and it was not only extremely helpful, but Andrew is a riot. He is very knowledgeable and was able to answer every question thrown at him. He knows and remembers each of his customers and is prepped for specific needs. He also made sure that his staff was prepared for those of us who had to purchase supplies after the class. Highly recommend!
In response to the owner:1. It still doesnt explain a salesman not telling us about the salt unit needing replacement every 2 years for $800 and you making money on a faulty design. It should last longer than that.2. Its just my wife, I and occasional friends using it so it isnt as though its being abused.3. We never had or was asked about having a demo for anything with the tub.4. It has always been cleaned by the schedule supplied and with Hot Springs chemicals. Ive had a 20x40 pool that I dont believe I ever spent $400 a year on chemicals so youre argument has no value. We bought a $10k+ Hot Springs salt water spa. The salesman never mentioned that roughly every 2 years you have to replace the salt making unit at a cost of $800 dollars. I never would have bought the tub if I had known that. Thats similar to buying a new car for $50k and it needs $4k in repairs every two years. Would you buy that car if you knew that? They know the design is defective and then sell you replacement parts at full retail. Stay away from here.
Wow. A very impressive repair call to my hot tub that I got someplace else. They managed to fix a problem quickly, without me even being there! The price was less than I expected and the service much more than I expected. Fab on the service thing. Might have to buy something from them someday.
The staff are wonderful, helpful and knowledgeable.I bought a pool for our home and they beat the competition with price and know-how. Wait time for the install was quick , I have recommended dozens of people to go here and nowhere else.I shopped the competition and was disappointed by everyone else.
This season when We opened our pool , there was a leak on the skimmer. The pool was installed last June. Our last pool from Islander lasted 25 years. We called and service department came over n replaced the skimmer. Islander pools always has spare parts on hand and a professional service dept 2nd to none. We will always be a customer!
I needed to find a filter for my Mira hot tub, but couldnt find ANY info on it or the company. Stumbled around the internet till I found a link to hottubinsider. There was a phone number so I called thinking it was the manufacturer, and got Zachary! Wow, even though Im in SC, he went out of his way to find me the correct part number and even suggested a vendor for my tub. Wish I were in Albany, Id swing by and thank him in person! THANK YOU for the assistance and details! :)
After being taken for a ride from one company and having another tell me misinformation, Islander Pools came and actually fixed my Hot Tub rather than tell me I needed parts costing over $1,000.00. Unbelievable customer service and attention to detail. Highly Recommend!
In June, I visited the Colonie showroom and spoke to Kenny. He showed me various pools and we discussed the differences & prices. I left with no pressure to buy. I made a few calls to Ken with follow-up questions as well as went back to re-look showroom pools. Our decision was made and we purchased a Radiant 24 pool. It was installed on the date scheduled. I am giving 4 stars because weight of my problems were with installation. We did incur a few set backs. During installation, the skimmer plate was cracked, therefore we had to reschedule our water delivery. Next morning, repair tech arrived and installed new plate. Water was finally filling pool. Then we noticed a pool of water near filter and pump. After checking everything, we found that the hose from filter back to return was leaking. I contacted service, and was told all hoses drip. My husband was not happy with that answer. Maybe old hoses due to wear and tear but a newly installed $8G Pool Pkg? Two days later the hoses were spurting water. I needed to run pool pump and filter in order to have chemicals circulate and clear water. So we had a pool of water outside of our pool! I was concerned hose would give and our pool would lose the water, we just spent putting in it( $800). I called service again. I was told I have you on schedule it would be this day or that day, which was us waiting another 3-4 days. Finally, the pool installers returned, looked at hose and replaced it. And not a few days later the same thing started happening. Another call to service on July 19, I spoke to a female (Joyce? not sure of name). She listened to the problem, then called me back and ask that I send a pic or video of whats happening. She called me back and was just waiting to see if they were re-sending installer or Islander Tech to repair. I believe it was 2 days later, Islander Tech came, came looked at it, and said no problem, I will take care of it. And since that no problem with the hose. Finally in using our pool, we discovered the liner was popped out in 2 places, my husband was able to pop it in and it seems to be holding in place. I did send pic to service, but had no reply.Using the pool, we noticed the ladder would lean to right when entering or exiting pool. We checked the ground outside of pool, it level. Took some pics, and headed to Islander, spoke to man(Anthony?) in parts, went into showroom to show area on ladder it seems to be giving. He said it seems like it was maybe put together incorrectly or something broke. Only way was to haul it up to Colonie to look at. Well its mid July, my kids had been so patient waiting for problems to be remedied, I couldnt take it out. (I also had to make an addl trip up 2 week before, because my Aquabot and extension pole for vac was missing from Pool Pkg that was delivered, with also delayed getting water clear) I spent 2 days looking through directions on how to put deluxe ladder/steps , and found that the installers didnt put it together correctly. After correcting that, we put ladder back in pool and was good for about 2-3 days, then it leans to right, every time somebody enters or exits. I am not sure if because we tried to use ladder for good 2 weeks, that it may have damaged plastic. We also found a deep spot on floor of pool, near edge, where sand must of come out from under or was missing. Cant say for sure since after installation of pool, we did have some raining day & I really didnt get to go in pool for almost 2 weeks trying to get water clear and hose repaired. We will be closing our pool in 2 weeks and we have Islander coming to close, so well see how that goes.I do love our Radiant pool, I hope we get more use out of it next year, without having to be on phone with service or wait for repairs.
I just got my beautiful new salt system hot tub ....which is so simple to maintain (I’ve had hot tubs for years and all the water testing and chemicals were a drag) but this one I have now.... no chemicals and silky smooth skin as a result. I’ve been researching hot tubs for a year and I finally found these wonderful people at Islander pools and spa up in Albany and one week later I have my dream spa.The staff at Islander is amazing.Andrew sold me the spa and arranged delivery within a week...at first I thought he was kidding. I’m not used to such high efficiency. Then Nick, the service manager, has been following up every step of the way. So kind and helpful to me. A rare commodity these days. The four guys who delivered my spa Josh, Dean, Zac and Vince were able to bring this really big hot tub up my seven step-up deck in the rain. They were so gracious the whole time moving the tub around until it was right where I wanted it to sit. I couldn’t have asked for a sweeter group of young men to help me.All and all I couldn’t recommend this group of people at Islander Pools highly enough. They deserve TEN STARS.The entire transaction was flawless.Just wanted to add that after I had this awesome salt water hot tub for four glorious months that I sit in every morning, it was time to change the salt insert.I called Islander Pools and NICK DEAL a really courteous, patient and helpful young man stayed on the line while walking me step by step thru the process. Thank you Nick so much.I continue to.... Love islander pools❤️❤️❤️
Mo was a great sales rep, answered all my questions and delivered my custom tub on time. The delivery guys were very good getting the tub into the cutout in my deck. They did a thorough job, very very informative and quite friendly, I love the tub and would do business with them again anytime.
We contracted for a Radiant Pool which is installed partially in the ground in our yard. We are very happy with the look. The installers did a great job and they were very swift in all aspects of installation and then getting the yard back in shape.Everyone at Islander was helpful and very willing to answer any questions we had.My only disappointment is that the installers do not install the steps for the pool so we need to figure that out ourselves. Other than that all went smoothly and I know we will enjoy our pool this summer.
Have worked with both locations and they have been nothing short of fantastic. From getting information to applying for credit to installation and maintenance, theres nothing but positive things to say about everyone at islander that we have come in contact with. They are knowledgeable and friendly and willing to answer any questions.
As a repeat customer of Islander Pools, I have found their sales staff to be helpful and courteous. They are well versed in their products. Deliveries and set-ups have been done in a professional manner. The store has a wide variety of products with an excellent price range. Their products are top quality and well worth the investment. I highly recommend Islander Pools for all summer living needs.
Great company to work with!!!! Kenny set us up with a 24 foot pool with a salt water system. Great price and great pool. Installation was on the day they said it would be and these guys didnt mess around. Pool was in and filling with water in 5 hours. Now thats how to run a business!! What i love the most is that they are always there to answer any questions we have being first time pool owners. I know they have our best interest in mind.
Fantastic service and wonderful staff. We have bought both a pool and hot tub and both experiences were great. they were always helpful on the phone and when we had a problem they sent someone the next day to solve it for us. They are a little more expensive than Walmart or Home Depot but well worth it. Will contune to use Islander for all our pool related needs.
I bought a pool April 2014, installed may. Installers didnt know they were installing a larger pool, didnt bring equipment. They went to Lowes and bought hand tools to hand dig a 3ft larger above ground pool. On day 2 noticed leak, after 8 days and multiple phone calls, diver came out and patched hole.i was not entitled to a brand new liner because was leak was not in seam. Opened pool in 2015 and ruts in bottom of pool 2inches deep and 7 inches wide, pool not level. Opened pool in 2017, bottom track rusted, leaking and many more ruts in bottom of pool some more tgan a foot long. called and sent pics to Zach without response, called Joe the manager and stated it must of been something I did and too bad so sad attitude. This year the bottom track is so rusted it crumbles when you touch it and the liner is protruding from under the track. Multiple holes in liner that we had to patch. Went through 2 rolls of flex tape to patch all the holes, it is clearly poor installation that caused my multiple issues. I spent 4000.00 on a pool that I had problems with since day 1 and have to replace after 4 yrs. I found my own pool on line and my own installer and saved 1500.00. This was the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I wish I could give a zero.
We purchased a new 27 round radiant pool from Andrew and the folks at islander pools this summer and have had nothing but great experiance in dealing with them from the iniatial questions at purchase, during the setup and professional installation, to the pool winterizing and closing class held at the Albany location of Islander Pools. if your looking to purchase a new pool these are the folks to see! looking forward to many years using our new pool with family and friends.
Andrew was awesome walking us through all the possibilities of replacing our above ground pool. He told us the parts we could reuse to save us money so that we could afford the propane heater we have always wanted. We can’t wait to open our new pool in the spring and will get so much more use out of it with our heater. Thank you!
We replaced out 12 year pool this year for a much larger one and we couldn’t be happier. We purchased it from the Islanders’s Ballston Spa location and Joe Borrelli was fantastic to work with. He knows the products and easily answered all of our questions. He even followed up with us after it was installed to make sure we were completely happy. If you’re looking for a new pool, spa or pool supplies, we highly recommend them!
Islander Problem SolversHerb and Jody, who manage service operations at Islander Pools in Colonie demonstrated that they are excellent problem solvers in June 2019. We needed a new pool liner for a very large pool. There was a fair amount of confusion on the part of the subcontractor hired to install the liner as to whether the pool liner we ordered was manufactured according to specifications. Herb and Jody took ownership of the problem, and solved it for us. It turned out that due to the very large size of the pool liner, it was quite difficult to make it fit our pool, which required the intervention of the owner of the pool liner subcontractor. Even though Herb and Jody are very busy, they always took the time to talk with us, or meet with me, and my husband, Dan, in person to solve the pool liner installation problem to our satisfaction, in a timely manner.(LO/DH)
After just getting our new above ground pool installed, we are amazed by the level of service and quality we received at Islander Pools. After a bad experience with a different company, we were 2 weeks in to June and still had no pool up. After we decided to stop messing around and go with Islander Pools, they delivered our equipment the day I placed the deposit, and in less than a day, our pool was up!Larry and Andrew at the Colonie store could not have been more helpful through the process. The installer, Mike, and his crew were total pros and it was clear they took pride in there work and had my pool up in less than 3 hours. Go with these guys if you want the best quality, customer service and price in the area.
We knew that reconnecting hoses on our swimming pool would take some effort. And, we believed this would be much easier than really demanding tasks, such as reassembling Humpty Dumpty. As we all know from this nursery rhyme, “All the king’s horses and all the king’s men couldn’t put Humpty together again.”In late spring 2021, we tried to install new “o” rings for our pool filter system, apply lubricants, reconnect hoses, and eliminate persistent leaks, but this was beyond our ability (or all the king’s men). Fortunately, it took just one telephone call to Herb at Islander Pools in Colonie, New York to schedule a service call from Vince, one of their technicians. Vince diagnosed our pool problems, and set right what we had done wrong. We were delighted with this quick and exceptional service! We nicknamed our pool filter system “Humpty Dumpty,” so we’ll never forget our personal limitations. From now on, we’ll first call Herb at Islander Pools when we are ready to put Humpty Dumpty together again. We’ll enjoy the break from this frustrating task. All the king’s men will be thankful, too. I bought a 14 swim spa from Islander about 18 months ago and while I have had a few mechanical issues with the spa, including in the middle of the winter, the response of the service dept. has been terrific--they came right out or walked me through some steps to fix things. They have also been very generous with providing me with supplies and pool accessories. The service element is the most important consideration when buying a spa and that is why I bought from Islander. They have stood behind their product. Overall, I am very pleased with the swim spa despite some issues with the heat pump (which is the reason for 4 stars instead of 5). Its a great investment for my future physical health and well-being and I recommend it for anyone who is looking for a way to stay in shape. Its a lot easier to take 2 steps outside your door any time than driving miles to your local public pool at prescribed times.
We purchased our pool June 2016 from Moe, and had a wonderful experience and enjoyed our pool all season. We are looking forward to learning about how to close out pool for the winter. We would recommend islander pools for excellent service and the ease of purchasing and installing the pool.
We bought an above ground pool from Islander Pools this summer and they were very informative and helpful. We called Andrew several times for advice and he was always willing to help and is very knowledgeable. We also found pool school, the class to assist in closing the pool, to be very helpful in getting the pool closed the right way.
Islander has adapted to the new normal during Covid well. I showed up and there was a large line outside as the workers take your order outside and go get your items. I thought I would be there for hours based on the 15+ people ahead of me but they all worked quick and I got through the line in less than 10 minutes getting what I needed.
Update! I was hoping to report reaching a mutually agreeable solution with Islander Pools regarding my assertion that they damaged my pool liner in the winterizing process they used this past fall, that resulted in the design print on my liner at the deep end, being completely bleached off the liner, with the entire bottom of the deep end being turned almost white for about a foot and a half up each side of the walls, appearing to indicate a settling to the bottom of whatever was added to my pool in the closing process. After discussing my problem with the service manager, I was informed that it couldnt possibly have been anything that their people did that caused the problem. A day later, I was called by another gentleman from Islander who reiterated that they were not to blame and that the damage, again, could not possibly have been done by them. I explained how in 13 years (9 years with the original liner, and 4 years with a new replacement liner) of having it opened and closed by another company without any such problems ever occurring, that I begged to disagree. I was then given a laundry list of possible causes by the gentleman, starting by asking me if I had tested the water. I explained that I have taken care of pools since I was 17 years old... first , at my Mom and Dads house, then at my previous home (where, by the way I purchased my pool from Islander..) , and now here, and I am currently 64 years old. That makes the better part of 47 years, where I have tended to pools in one place or another, with only a few years where I rented , so pool tending wasnt required. THEN I was told the water could look perfectly clear and still contain things like copper, etc.. , THEN, it went to his assertion that many of these kinds of liners went out from the factory with insufficient UV shielding (??) , and mine may have been one of those. THEN, I was told that my newer replacement liner had indeed reached its half-life of 5 years anyway (even though this coming season wouldve been the beginning of its 5th year...not last year!) . I think you are starting to get the picture. I started to tell the young man that in the America I was raised in, if you made a mistake, you admitted it, and did everything in your power to make things right. Today its different in that many people and businesses refuse to take responsibility, they make excuses, and will try and wriggle off the hook rather than doing the right thing. I told him that as far as I can see, this is what Islander Pools was doing...trying to wriggle off the hook, make excuses and refusing to take responsibility! At that point the gentleman politely informed me that I was, in his opinion, getting off track. He told me they truly wanted to help me out, and THEN offered to SELL me a new liner at a discounted price. Sadly, I dont believe it was me who got off track. Welcome to The New America! I think I liked the old one better.(Sent after Response by Owner)You may cite all the excuses you want. The math tells the tale Out of 14 total closures and openings done on my pool, 13 by another company with absolutely NO PROBLEMS WHATSOEVER, and 1 by your company, where upon opening, our deep end had been TOTALLY BLEACHED OUT on the entire floor and up about 1 1/2 ft. high. The calculation shows a 92.86% probability that the fault lies with you and 7.14% that it doesnt. Numbers Dont Lie!
I had two techs coming in and they left within 5 mins just opening the cover. They stated that the pump had electrical issue. I was very disappointed. Then i called the store and they sent Vins. I am giving this 5 star only for Vins. He is the best!! I almost gave a one star for the service of the other folks who were not helpful at all. Vins was very detailed, explained everything i needed to know as a first time pool owner. Thank you, Vins. Islander, you should train all your employees to be awesome like him.
I have purchased three HOT SPRINGS hot tubs from Islander during my lifetime and all of them were just what the doctor ordered. Ours in located outside and with the winter we have had in 2014/15, it was the only thing that kept our sanity. Just relax outside while it is snowing in 103 degree water temperature. Perfect !!! Their sales and service (not that we ever needed any) is the best around. You really feel that you are part of the hot tub family with Andrew and his staff. Keep up the good work guys !!
We bought a 24 foot round 54 inch high pool from islander in 2009 and are having a repeat problem with the top rails. The paint on the top rails peeled off the first summer. We contacted islander. They offered to replace them with the same rails or with resin ones. We were assured that they had no history of problems with the same rails, it must have only been my rails, so we had the same rails put on. Now we are having the exact same problem. We contacted Islander weeks ago and they keep saying that they are waiting to hear from the manufacturer. We bought from Islander because they assured us that they stand behind the products that they sell even beyond the manufacturer. Well, we certainly hope that we werent bullsd. Were getting impatient since its the end of the season and we want this fixed before we need to close the pool. Come on Islander take care of your customer.
Islander Pools is where the pool was purchased. I wasnt around for that part so I cant speak to that. I have been to this location several times, however, for various parts since. Every time I go in I am able to find what I am looking for. The staff is usually very friendly and knowledgeable about the inventory. There have been several times Ive gone in with a picture and said this is what I need. Without hesitation I have the part in my hand and Im out the door. There have also been times I have gone in and said I need this do-dad that kind of looks like this and goes between this and that. After a little head scratching and some does it look like this back and forth, I get the part that is believed to be needed and get told, if its not right, just bring it back to us unopened and well try again. Luckily I havent ever needed to try again. To wrap it up, if youre looking for something pool related this shop probably has it, even if you dont know what it is you are looking for.
Went to just about every pool place in the area- no one can compare with the Service and Pricing I received from Islander pools. Nick and his manager were the best- helped me load the pool in my vehicle and they had the best pricing anywhere and a much better quality than their competitors in the price range I needed. Their customer service even after purchasing is A!- I would rate higher than a five star if I could.Linda Gross
I had an amazing experience with this business. Im in Florida and they had a part o needed to fix my heat pump. Of course it had to be the Monday after Thanksgiving, aka cyber Monday. I asked if they could expedite shipping and I would pay the extra, and we both agreed. UPS dropped the ball and left my package in Jacksonville for like 5 days. this guy updated me everyday he could and telling me what he was doing to get it to me. However, UPS just dont do what was promised. He refunded me the shipping cost before he even worked it out with UPS. Above and beyond the bar for good customer service. Highy recommend!
First Ill start by saying that I would give a ZERO star rating if I could. I stopped by Islander to ask some questions about hot tubs since Im in the market for one. Long story short the salesman was to busy watching a football game to answer my questions. Every time I asked a question he acted like I was bothering him. In any case I walked out the door and went to another local place and purchased a new hot tub. I will never waste my time with this company again. This is in response, to the response left from the owner:In any case I can tell that after your full investigation that you are not going to be the next Columbo. I never said that I came in the day that I put this review on. In fact it was a week or so earlier. Also if you didnt have even one customer come in the day that you questioned your employees then perhaps the word on the customer service is getting out. I also never said I went out the same exact day to purchase a tub from another store. Bottom line is that I came in and was ignored because one of your employees was busy watching football. I then shopped elsewhere over the next couple days and did purchase a hot tub. Just thought you should know. Perhaps next time with your great investigative skills you could perhaps check the video tape before you accuse my review of being suspect.
Whatever we seem to need and could never find elsewhere Islander has. It has been our only pool supply company for the last two years. Their parts department always has everything we need in stock. The prices are fair and reasonable. Staff throughout the store is friendly, knowledgeable and not high-pressured.
Purchased our 2020 Hot Springs Envoy Hot Tub from Islander...very pleased with Andrews sales approach—-honest no nonsense, delivery and follow up...so happy to do business with local companies like Islander that provide outstsnding service and value....you guys have made 2020 much more bearable for my wife and I!!!!
They have great service, good inventory of parts. July 4th weekend they had the parts to get my pump and filter up and running when it unexpectedly quit in the middle of a heat wave. Worth the drive. They always have plenty of people on hand to answer questions and provide help.
Thank you Islander pools for your knowledgeable and acceptional service provided by your friendly staff. An associate came to our home and replaced a part on our hot tub quickly and efficiently. They are highly recommend for any service and information regarding a hot tub or pool.
I have owned a hot tub from Islander pools for the last 15 years. It was time to upgrade. The professionalism and service at the store was unbelievable. If you are looking for a hot tub stop by Islander Pools they are the best and most experienced in the area. The service department is awesome.
Awesome service! Needed a new pool filter, they helped me decide on a type that was right for my pool. Everyone there was kind and courteous and wanted to help! Worth the time to go there instead of to the “other place” that is about 3 minutes from my house. Definitely recommend
Excellent customer service! Serenity was knowledgeable, helpful, and patient. She happily answered all of our questions and made recommendations based on our needs. She was a pleasure to work with and went above and beyond to help us. They had a great selection of outdoor furniture available.
My wife and I stopped into Islander to shop for a new spa. We have been considering this purchase for awhile and had a good idea exactly what we were looking for. We met our salesman Ken. He was very knowledgable and he answered all our questions regarding the Freeform spa we were interested in. We feel like Ken gave us a really good deal and purchased the spa. We cannot wait to have it it delivered. Thanks for all your help Ken.
I searched high and low for a replacement part for my pool pumps wetend but had no luck. I thought I would have to spend $90 for a new wetend until I walked into Islander Pools. Their parts department identified the part and had a replacement one in my hand in under two minutes. They also let me know another small part should be replaced to ensure the wetend did not leak and damage my new motor. What a great experience. I now know where to start my search for all my future pool needs.
This is our 2nd pool in 18 yrs we purchased from them. Installer was crude and not very professional but he did know the proper way to install the pool. The store has friendly and professional staff and are willing to help you out. We were missing a part for our ladder and they went out of their way to remedy it.
If I could give 0 stars I would. Their hours are terrible. I have a hard time getting there before they close! One day I made it in time, I left work early so I could shop for a pool. The sales staff were HORRIBLE to me and my family. They didnt greet us upon our arrival to the store. We made our way over to the pools and had many questions but nobody was around to answer them. We found someone and he seemed bothered by us and didnt seem to want to answer my questions. I will never go there again!!
Shout out to Andrew and his crew at Islander for making my daughters dream come true! He pulled out all the stops for a special girls Make A Wish request during the busy pool season! Andrew and the team he brought to my home of excavators and installers were a top notch set of guys who paid special attention to the details for my disabled daughter so she could enjoy her new pool!! They brought her pure joy and she brought some great smiles to those guys that day!
Not happy at all!!! I had a deposit on a pool at A-Frame but they didnt have good reviews so I spent more to get a pool from Islander what a mistake!!! First of all they act like their pool crew exclusively installs pools just for then but they dont - the installer said they install for all companies even Nameco!Secondly they state on their website they wont be outpriced which is completely not true they wouldnt even match A-Frames price we purchased the Influence which is almost identical to the pool at A-Frame but hundreds less!!!Lastly we never purchased a pool before so when they gave us a price we thought that was the price hahaha yeah right!!! The installers will charge you a dig fee which we had a small pothole on the border of our pool area which the area could have easily been moved but that pothole ended up costing over $100!! And they also dont mention it but they also leave u with a mountain of dirt and rip up your lawn :(I just wanted to write this because the salesman really sold me with their great reviews and reliability but its a complete joke... who knew it would be more stressful buying a pool then a car 😕
Im not happy at all with this company. We purchased a pool with a package a year ago. There was no chlorinator, so I sent my wife to pick one up.She came back without one and told me how they made her feel like a moron just for asking. Today, she still will jot even go there to get the water tested!I went down there and had to deal with a woman manager who sent me to the salesperson. I wound up with a chlorinated alough it took me almost an hour and I felt like a moron for asking for what should have been taken care of to begin with!!We have had a couple MAJOR ISSUES here that Ive not been able to ((make)) the time, much less any desire to go play with these people again. The installer did not provide any insight into the options of where to mount the pump and filter!!Problem is that IT IS IMPROPERLY INSTALLLED DIRECTLY AND CLEARLY AGAINST MFGRS RECOMMENDATIONS!:I know this because the installer also said at the end - its like cheerios, and you get to keep the boxes.wOw! Were they right with that - they left me a 96 gallon trash can full of what tiik nearly an hour of slicing, dicing and filing a chuck full recycle bin if trash - there were boxes within boxes -- this is also where I found the installation instructions that stand how to properly locate d the pump and filter.1. They placed the pump anf filter on the west-facing side right in the direct sun where at this site it CLEARLY should have been on the east side where it would have minimal sun according to the mfgrs instructions. So -- now I get to design, build and PAY MORE for a housing to protect the pump and filter!! Nice job guys! :((2. The cartridge filter pump is not and had not workes properly since day #1. I also brought my question to this place when I went to get the chlorinator. Not ever owning a pool prior, we put our trust, faith (and money) with them and have been left down with a new roduct that carries no warrant due to improper installatiin. We are not real excited about draining the entire pool, tearing it all, moving it and then reinstalling it to make it right. As a result, each and every time the pump starts we have to release air from the housing otherwise there is only like 30% (at best) of the filter being used!! *very* inconvenient and high maintenance.Unfortunately instead of getting what we paid for, we got a problem where the solution is not within our reach and we are stuck with it...Really SUCKS because the reasons why we bought the pool is because the product is a good one.We strongly recommend you find a different distributor for this pool product, especiallt if you want installation. Be sure to read the reviews before investing your hard earned money and be sure to change the sorting of the reviews to be sure you get a real good idea and not have to find the reviews in hindsight that are far from favorable. We are South Colonie homeowner who also wanted to keep business local (practically a neghbor to this companys location)...
Attending 2018 Pool School. Very informative session. Nice inside class, with various pool pump/filter systems set up. Outside portion was bit difficult to hear both instructor & attendees questions, due to passing traffic on central ave. Staff very helpful, this class is not trying to sell you anything. If anything trying to save you $
A couple months ago I had a service tech come out and fix a leak in my spa. Unfortunately the leak was never fixed correct and I had to call another place who actually fixed the leak the correct way. So now Im looking at all the reviews here on google and I just happened to notice a ton of recent good ones. I have to ask. How is it that you have 21 highly rated reviews in the last week yet only 81 reviews over so many years? Im not a fool. People if your looking for a pool, furniture, hot tub etc beware of the reviews. A lot of these reviews are bologna. Im giving a two star because of the service and not because of all the bogus reviews that Islander is putting up.
Best customer experience I have had in a very long time. I went to Islander Pools to get a filter, a couple jets, and chemicals for an old hot tub that I have. After going to a competitor in Glenville NY that was absolutely horrible, I was nervous to ask about the jets, but as soon as I walked in I was greeted by Elise Cordi. Wow, she was wonderful, she saw I had a filter in a grocery bag and politely asked if that is why I was there, she knew exactly what I needed without even looking at the filter in the bag. I decided to ask about the jets that I needed, and she had them in stock! I have never had a hot tub before so I was unsure of what chemicals to use, she walked with me and helped me pick them out, wrote on the bottles how much to put in weekly, and gave me another sheet that outlined everything I needed to do. If you need anything for your hot tub or pool, go see Elise. She is absolutely amazing! and I will be going back to her this week to get some other stuff I need. Thank you Elise!!

2022-02-04Purchased a Hot Springs Relay spa from Islander and was up and running 10/13/21.I have to say that their service and support is absolutely fantastic. They are there for you as soon as possible and will spend any amount of time needed to help. Aside from selling a quality product their service has kept them in business for ~50 years. My wife and I highly recommend them.Keep up the good work, Islander.

2022-05-28I have had issues with my pool for a week finally after replacing fittings and gaskets I thought the pump was not working right. I took it to Islander and within minutes Nick took the pump tested it and found that it was not the pump but a gasket in the shut off valve. I have used Islander Colonie for years for any of my pool needs ALWAYS great knowledge, great people and great service. Thanks Nick for saving the holiday weekend my hero👍

2022-06-06So. I had to make several trips to Islander today. 1st trip I bring in my water sample. The girls working there helped me and suggested Green Aid. I said I had a 16x32 inground pool. Apparently she should have sold me 2 jars based on the pool size. So thats an issue. The second trip brought me back in for a belt that snapped on my pool Bot. I have the Bot serviced there 2 weeks ago. So now I had to spend more money on it after me belts 2 weeks ago. Normally I have good service there. Liam was great with the Bot, replacing the belt and just charging for the parts.

2022-06-15Islander pools gets an A+++++ rating from me and my wife. We live 60 miles away and trust no one else for education and self maintenance on our pool. Andrew sold us our pool 4 years ago with no pressure to purchase. Since then we have been traveling 2 -3 times a year to see Nick Deck. Nick is AWESOME. As soon as we walk in the door he recognizes us and when he’s done with his customer he is helping he comes to help us. Nick is always full of knowledge and experience on pools. Any question I have I have found he always has the answers. Islander pools, Andrew and Nick will always be my go to people. I think Nick should be a company partner. Thank you. Bryan and Patti Ilgner

2022-05-20I could not be more delighted with the caring, education and service I have received this week at Islander. We had a mud slide like problem in our pool last Sunday from heavy rains and it went from disaster to swimmable in less than a week!! Never having managed my pool before, only because our usual “pool guy” was flat out opening other pools, I was distraught with the mess. Manager Nick was so patient and informative. He gave me the confidence to tackle it on my own! He is truly a HUGE asset to the smooth, seamless working of this business. Every single staff member represented the business like it was there own: very professional and service oriented. I am so grateful for all there help and will tell everyone I know, starting here!

2022-06-08Islander pools has always been our go to for everything pool related. Today I brought in our above ground pump since it wasn’t working and was just making a humming noise. They took my pump right into the shop and 10 minutes later came out and told me I was all set, it was just some corrosion on a contact. No charge! I was completely expecting to have to buy a new pump on the spot. Another example of why we do all of our business here.

2022-05-28I’ve been a long standing customer and each year upon opening my in ground pool, it looks like a swamp and takes weeks and a lot of time and money to get my pool looking good. This year has been much different than previous years. The pool was black as always upon opening, however, the day before opening I went to Islander to get supplies and had the good fortune to speak with William who took a genuine interest in helping me. He immediately told me exactly what I needed and how to dispense it. The morning after I added the magic combination, my pool was clear- even in the deep end. A little more vacuuming and we’ll be swimming. Today when I stopped in to get my water tested William remembered me and I showed him the before and after pictures so he could see how disgusting my pool was and how quickly his remedy worked. I will be recommending him to all of my pool owning friends.

2022-05-29I just got in the area and I went into Islander pools and spa this morning, I usually don’t write reviews but I was amazed by the service. Everyone was helpful, I worked with this one girl Gabby. Gabby did my water test and helped me with various things around the store, I would highly recommend going here for any pool supplies.
