Purchased a new in ground liner, pump & filter through Kerrie at the Ballston Spa location. She was very knowledgeable and extremely helpful in the purchase and scheduling phases of the order. Their service staff did a great job with the installations. I give them my highest recommendation.
We had a great experience at Islander Pools & Spas in Ballston Spa. Kerrie was always kind, patient, knowledgeable and followed through on everything she said she would do. Kerrie and her team made the delivery and set up very easy! We had no experience with maintaining the hot tub and she took the time to go over and over it with us! We used Islander Pools and their installers, Professional Pool Installers for our semi-above ground Radiant pool. We couldn’t be happier with the final product, and everyone we worked with did an amazing job! Kerri at Islander answered all my questions, and was extremely helpful. Rob and his team at Professional Pool Installers did a phenomenal job with the install, and completed the job in 4 hours! Thank you for everything!

I bought a pool and hot tub last season from Islander pools. I never rate places, however, I found the experience and customer service to be exceptional. I worked with Kerrie, she is incredibly knowledgeable, helpful from beginning to end and I still touch base with her. I highly recommend working with her, without reservation, if you are considering a pool or hot tub. Coming from a person who has never owned a pool, Kerrie made the entire process seamless!
Kerrie was great throughout the full process. Im a first time buyer of a hot tub and had many basic questions. She was calm, responsive and super nice. The hot tub came pretty fast and delivery was a breeze.

Staff is extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Kerrie made the process of obtaining permits for our pool so easy and there were no surprises along the way. The buying was easy however, nobody bothered to explain to us that we needed to have our water delivered the same or next day. Joe wasnt a pleasure to work with.
Still never got the missing flex hose from my pool purchase from last year 2020. I also do not recommend using Islander pools liner install references. I used one by the name of Rick who over charged me compared to other local installers and refused to return after his liner install was faulty due to a loose anchor mount that allowed the bead to come out. Not overly impressed.
I have been patronizing the Ballston Spa islander pools store the 11 years that I have had my pool and 3 years that I have my hot tub. When you go there ask for Kerrie. I was given that piece of advice when I first got my pool by a family member and have never regretted it. Kerrie is personable, knowledgeable and always willing to help solve what ever problems you might be having. She has a wide variety of knowledge from chemicals and what to use and when to what pool, hottube, etc. will meet you needs . In the market for a backyard oasis give Kerrie a call you wont be sorry.
Carrie, Joe, Kay, and the staff at this location are great! Purchased a Saltwater Spa from them last year and they made the process as painless as possible. They are always incredibly helpful with any questions or concerns that Ive had. Highly recommended!
We just received our hot tub this week and Kerrie has been working with us since we bought it back in January. She has been beyond helpful, very attentive and very knowledgeable when it came to any of our questions and needs. If you’re looking to find a hot tub or a pool, I highly recommend her.
Our pool filter stopped working today in the 90 degree heat, so we brought it to Islander. After just a few minutes in the pool ICU, Joe got it back up and running!! Now we are floating and enjoying the day!! Thanks Joe and everyone for your awesome customer service!!

We have been very pleased with the staff at Islander Pools and Spas- Ballston Spa. Our salesperson Kerrie Hovak is extremely knowledgeable of all the Spas in the showroom. After reviewing all of the Spas with Kerri we felt we made a well informed decision and She gave us a great price on our Spa. The technical team is also extremely knowledgeable and responsive when you contact them with any questions. Our Spa demo was very thorough and our Hot Springs Salt Water Flash Spa is beautiful and requires little to no maintenance.
Im so glad that last year at this time I purchased my pool from Islander Pools in Ballston Spa. With the Covid-19 Virus happening this year and all the warm weather we really got a lot of use out of our pool. Would like to send a special shout out to Joe.B whos been so helpful from the day we bought the pool , sending me pictures and giving me helpful tips on putting up the pool and installing the filter the correct way. Just the other day when I called him about a problem with my waters PH and Alkalinity levels, Joe offered to stop and take a test of the water. After taking the test he suggested what chemicals I should add. Thanks Joe for going out of your way and correcting my problem. Your a life saver!I highly recommend Islander Pools for anyone that is looking for a great pool but even more , Great Service !!!

July 12, 2020: I couldnt figure out how to post a new review so i am editing my old one.The Ballston Spa store is the best! Their staff are always so helpful and on point. Kerrie and Joe remember us and what pool we have how they can help us even better. Today our pumped stopped working. We were told to bring it in so they could look at it. They looked at it and fixed it within 30 minutes and free of charge. Where would you find better service? Just want to give a Big Shout Out to the folks at Islander Pool’s in Ballston Spa my Fiancé and I had an awesome experience. We were looking to buy an above ground pool. We didn’t want anything real big they had 18’, 21’, 24’, and 30’ plus oval and offered different styles. The staff was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions and then some. They even offer financing that you can do yourself by going to the Islander website very easy process just takes a few minutes. We went with an 18’ round Oceanic and we couldn’t be more pleased. Thank you Islander Pools you are the bomb!!
We bought a house with a pool and had never had a pool of our own before. So much to learn and Islander has been AMAZING!! From opening it and walking us through the steps of maintaining and caring for a pool to installing our new liner. Theyve been profession and responsive throughout.The staff in the store have been extremely helpful with guiding us on what liner to choose and what products are best. The guys that have been out to service our pool were very kind (and patient with my many questions haha). Chris, I believe he may be the owner, has been FANTASTIC. From the moment my husband and I walked through the door Kerrie took amazing care of us. She made our hot tub buying experience effortless. We picked a tub they had in stock and it was delivered to our home 2 days later, like wow! We did run into an issue with the bluetooth audio system but Kerrie and Herb got on it immediately and got it fixed within a week. Great service all around. Islander Ballston Spa earned lifetime customers for sure!
Thank you for the amazing customer service that you and your team provided. I appreciated that you personally made it possible to have the pool installed in time for my daughters birthday party. But I was extremely impressed with how quickly everyone was assembled from the installation of the hot tub, to the installation of the pool, but also the electrical company and the water supply company. There were no delays and everyone went above and beyond to make the process very smooth.
Do not back their product. Bought a pool and one week the walls are buckling and their response was basically not our problem. Was told that the BOSS from Albany was coming to my house to inspect the pool and the installer showed up not the BOSS.WAS LIED to about what was included in the installing of the pool.The INSTALLER IS BACKING UP HIS WORK but have not heard one word from ISLANDER.WOULD NOT RECOMMEND TO MY WORST ENEMY!!!!!
We recently purchased a 20 foot round oceanic pool w/ a Simple Salt System. This is my familys first pool and so far its Awesome! The team from Islander (Ballston Spa) makes the process very easy from start to swim. We looked and sat with all the other local pool dealers but the package from Islander was the best one we found. If you shop around you will find cheaper pools but be sure the look at the entire package. I did the math and getting this pool from Islander saved me money at the start by providing a COMPLETE package. Also it will save money year after year in chemical cost.A special thanks to the installation team from Upstate Enterprise. Mike and him team stand up to there slogan fast and professional service. I was amazed while watching these guys put up my pool. I heard the only down side is Mike is grumpy... not true. He just doesnt like ANYTHING getting the way of a perfect job for you. Thank you for a job well done!
They screw ya over with a smile. We are just learning about pool maintenance so we brought our water their to be sampled because it was cloudy. We bought the supplies the told us we needed and followed theirinstructions. The water got a little better, then worse. We went back again for a follow up, bought more of the products they told us we needed. The pool got worse.We decided to bring our sample to another company. They were shocked that in islanders plan that within a week they had us dump a full bottle of clarifier in and 2 more bottles of ultra clarifier. The other pool company explained to us the science behind how to fix our water. It took a lot of money and time to fix the damage islander did to our pool.@Chris, please provide an email address and I will gladly discuss what went wrong.
Very helpful staff and willing to go out of their way to help us set up our new pool! Mo was very informative and helpful throughout the whole process. The girls that work at the supply desk are knowledgeable and friendly. So glad we picked islander pools!
These people have nothing but great since we bought our hot tub from them. We had many questions after using it for a few weeks and Kerrie took the time out of her day to give me a 30 minute tutorial in the store on how everything works. They made a customer for life!
Had the most amazing experience buying a Hot Tub from Islander pools in Ballston Spa. The Store Manager, Joe Borrelli was extremely helpful and patient with us and spent significant time educating us on hot tubs in general and then found the right size and brand for our needs. The tub was delivered when they said it would be and by 4 very helpful and also patient guys. They recommended the right location and placement of the tub and worked hard to get it unwrapped and moved to the perfect spot despite the weight of it and the extreme heat and sun outside! And then two days later, the Service Manager, Herb came out on a Friday night and spent an hour or so showing me all the features of the tub and getting it set up perfectly. He was not in a hurry to get out and gave me great tips on maintaining it! All in all this was one of the best big ticket experiences Ive had in my life! Thank you Islander Pools!
We received outstanding service from Joe at the Islander pool and Spa, Ballston Spa location. We went to the store needing professional advice on our in ground pool pump. Joe was more than gracious with his time and knowledge. He took the time to educate us on the various products that we needed for our Hot tub. At no time did we feel the typical salesman approach that more expensive was better, rather he was there to help you make an informed purchase.. We will go out of our way to support his business, as he went out of his way to help us. We will refer him and Islander pools to our friends and family for sure! Many Thanks Joe!

Kerrie at islander pools in Ballston spa is very knowledgeable ,pleasant, and professional. All the employees are also pleasant and helpful.
I dealt with several staff at Islander Pools in Ballston Spa and they were all either knowledgeable or knew enough to get me to the right person. The pool and installation were a great price and installation was made easy by the crew Islander recommends. It would be even better if the installer could do the electrical work and install the pool alarm, too. However, Islander Pools in Ballston Spa is the closest by far to a one-stop shop for above ground pools youll find in the area. Every other place I shopped would sell me the pool and leave me to find an installer. Some wouldnt even deliver the pool. I highly recommend Islander Pools in Ballston Spa.
Kerri was absolutely amazing to work with. We will only be working with her in the future. She was not pushy, very knowledgeable and nice. She valued that we were returning customers as well.
When going into Islander be ready for the up sell or Bait and Switch. They advertise low prices to get you in the door and then they sell you a more expensive pool package. Just know that everything in this pool package is cheap except for the pool because you have already up-graded that with the sales person. You can get a better cover, vacuum, etc, but it is going to cost you $.The guy that does the installs takes a page right out of their book. He will charge you extra for something, for me it was the sand, an extra $75. And because he does 3-4 pools a day in prime season he or his workers will cut corners. With my pool they snapped these plastic decorative pieces on the bottom of the post but never screwed them as intended and most of them broke off over the winter.That being said I would buy from them again, it would have been nice knowing this stuff prior, that is why I am doing this review. I would not have used the installer again, he is a manipulator and I truly believe he probably thinks hes smarter than everyone and that no one will know he is getting one over on them. Just because Islander recommends him doesnt make him good.
The gentleman who helped us was knowledgeable in all aspects of purchasing and installing a pool and helping us to purchase a pool perfect for our needs we have dealt with them before and never been disappointed.

Cathy and I went to Islander in early April to talk to Joe about a refresher hot tub/spa before our retirement. We looked them all over with Joe and his sales staff. After much discussion and sharing our experience with our current hot tub/spa we purchased from Joe over 14 years ago, we made a decision to come back in early May to take delivery of a brand new one. Tonight we sealed the deal and will take delivery this Friday. Fast, huh? Never have we felt anything less than pleased with products, customer service or times when we needed technical support. Sometimes Joes staff has had to scour the internet for parts for a tub/spa as aged as ours but they always came through. Even when the parts were difficult to find and cost less than $20. I would recommend Islander to anyone that is interested in a fair price, great service and solid products.
Terrible experience. Purchased a pool 5 years ago and the liner recently needed replacement. After taking the old one out, I noticed several rust spots on the inside of the pool wall, one of which became a hole. I was told the warranty is only for manufacture defects, and would not be covered. Pay close attention to the 40 year or lifetime warranty offered, it covers nothing. Joe is a salesman and does not stand by the product they sell. Installation was also terrible. The pool floor was full of wrinkles and many screws were broken or missing. Buyer beware.

This place is absolutely fantastic! My wife and I are a family of four. Two little ones one is 3 and the other is 5. We went back and fourth on getting a pool for about 3 weeks. We couldn’t decide if we wanted an above ground, i ground, or a boat! Haha.. well I made my first call to Islander pools on a Monday. I spoke with Joe Borrelli, he went through the ins and outs of what we may want etc...right from the start Joe was awesome!... I’m a question guy and boy did I have questions. I had never owned a pool before and I just didn’t know what I was getting myself into. Joe is super knowledgeable and went through everything. I called Joe about 12 times in two days haha no joke.. BUT every time I called Joe would get on the line and laugh it off and NEVER brushed me off the phone because I was an annoyance. I thought just that alone was worth a purchase with him.My wife and I made our purchase over the phone with Joe on a Tues. we were about a week and a half out for install which was no big deal... then a call later in the day... Joe calls with good news we can have it installed on Thursday! Our kids were excited, we were excited!.. the install went fantastic! Mike was awesome; I talked to him on the phone a couple of times and he talked to me about possible charges if the ground wasn’t level etc... nothing extra, ground was level and boom we had a pool!After that i grabbed a water sample and headed to see Joe at the store. I grabbed Chemicals for the pool with Joe. He went through simple blue, and salt options etc.. just an added touch of his excellent customer service. I walked out with a smile!This is just a quick summary and doesn’t even compare in words of the great service i got here. I could not have had a better experience. My wife, kids and I are very happy and pleased with Joe Borrelli and staff! I would highly recommend Islander pools to anyone!! And make sure you go see JOE!!!!SincerelyA Very Happy Dad!

Katie & Joe helped me fix my leaking pool pump when I couldn’t figure out how install a new part myself. Ended up getting a $15 part vs a new $300 pump. Great customer service!
This is the best place to buy a hot tub. We continue to go back to Islander and just recently bought a hot tub from Joe. Everyone at both stores were very helpful. Joe continues to go above and beyond to make sure we have the right set up and are enjoying our new tub.

Islander has taken care of my pool needs since I bought my house in Ballston Spa in 2004...they are so knowledgeable and always have helped me keep my water clear and fix it when it turned green...their customer svc is great whether in person or when i call them. They have a great set up/svc Co they refer me to and have referred me to a good electrician with fair prices. I dont know what I would do without them as I live alone and do it all myself which is not easy for me. Thank you Islander!

Very helpful staff. Park lot is tiny so be careful if you need to park on route 50. This center did not have lounge chairs if you are looking for that their colonie location has them I was told.

2022-05-12Everything about our purchase was amazing! Joe and Kay the sales reps were informative and super nice and professional. The delivery drivers were very friendly and made sure we had everything that was on the list as they unloaded the materials. The installers said theyd be here between 730am-8am at 731am they pulled in the driveway right in time. All were very professional and install took less than 2.5 hours. They all truly did an amazing job. I will recommend anyone I know to your company. I actually have already sent two customers your way:-) Thank you again for such a smooth great experience. We look forward to enjoying our pool. We see a hot tub in our future next year and will definitely buy from you!

2022-04-30Bought a pool from Moe. Was pretty easy, he was very informative about everything. The guys they sent to install were super quick and very nice. When we went back in for my chemicals Gabby helped me. The kid is a complete sweetheart. She didn’t try to sell me anything I didn’t need, she was very thorough with exactly what I needed to do to get my pool up and running. ( never did it before). All in all I’d recommend anyone looking for a pool to deal with the two people mentioned above. Two thumbs up. 👍🏼 👍🏼

2022-04-15Kay (our sales person) is extremely knowledgable and guided us through the hot tub buying process. She was always very responsive whenever we emailed or called her. The Islander service dept. was quick to respond when I couldnt figure out an error message I was getting, and sent a service man to help within 2 hours of my request. I highly recommend Islander pools.

2022-06-24I cant say enough wonderful things about the staff at Islander Pools in Ballston Spa. Every time I walk in I am greeted with a hello, a smile and a can I help you. All the staff are extremely knowledgeable, friendly and willing to help. I never feel rushed when I am there. They have all helped me with any issue I have had. Its a pleasure going there. 2022-06-21Tyler was lights out - he came out for a heater repair after another company couldnt get the job done. Not sure if hes out of the Ballston Spa or Albany location, but we were very impressed. Super knowledgeable and good worksmanship.

2022-05-26I brought my spa pump there to purchase a new one. They could not do anything for me. They could not look it up by the pump specs. I have to drive to Albany he said. I asked if he could look it up to give me a price. He said no. What kind of Spa place is this? I spent 10 min. on line and found the pump. I will not be buying my chemicals or anything else there. Totally useless.

2021-09-17Joe and the rest of the staff were extremely nice, knowledgeable and helpful throughout the entire pool purchasing and installation process. They advised me on the best pool/ equipment for my family, and were available during the installation and post-installation to provide answers to any questions we had. Also, the entire install crew did a fabulous job from excavation and assembly to electrical. Thanks again!

2021-10-01We have had our pool for two summers now. It is still a learning experience for us but its great to know that we can visit or call Islander with any questions. We have had to replace our pool pump twice now and Islander Pools was great with the warranty. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly.

Kerry was exceptional with her help with initial set up and has been great to work with. When I stopped in to have our water tested all of the employees in the store were kind and helpful.
