Nice airport ,security is very friendly and awesome, clean airport as well.If you show up early for your flight in the morning(4:45 am) the lines are short but if you wait until 5:00 am you might miss your flight! Construction underway contractors doing a great job, finished airport and security will be awesome!more progress new departure lounge in the making. Getting ready for the big Opener
Ive only tried to use the Ithaca airport once, to catch a flight to Philly and then on to New Orleans. When we arrived at the airport we were told the plane we were to get on never made it to Ithaca, and that we had to be re-routed. The lady helping us was surprisingly friendly and got all 3 of us in first class seats from Syracuse to NO. There is a shuttle service to and from the Syracuse airport, but we opted to drive ourselves. I have to give 3 stars because we never actually flew out of Ithaca, but the first class upgrade was a welcome and undeserved boon for us. Also, I wish they flew to JFK...Update after actually flying out of ITH: Because this is a baby airport the ladies doing check-in are also the same workers on the tarmac moving luggage to the plane and using the orange sticks to guide the plane. We had to wait 10-15 min for a lady to come check us in because she was out doing plane stuff. The line for security is super short (10 min. max) because, as you can imagine, there are never many passengers flying out at once. Upon returning back to ITH, transfer of luggage on the claim belt was quick
I have a great experience every time I fly in and out of Ithaca.I wanted to give specific kudos to the kind lady and gentleman working the little cafe inside the terminal this morning. They were so sweet and welcoming and made being up for a 0600 flight all the more pleasant. American’s ticketing and baggage agent and TSA were also very pleasant. I really enjoy doing business with this airport and it’s staff. Thank you!
Very friendly and competent security officers. I was bringing a small water-cooled computer rig with me as carry-on which expectedlycaused some confusion but they werent annoying about it. The airport is currently undergoing renovations so the whole place looks a bit torn up and the toilets are kinda not great but theres a thermos with free coffee for you while you wait. Nice!
I travel almost every week to/from this airport. The WiFi at ITH airport after renovation is not at all functioning in the secure area (after TSA). It was great before all the renovation started. If you ask me between the choice of WiFi at a functioning terminal or a fancy terminal with the same number of gates with a lot of tax dollars, I may just choose the former 🙃 (the 30% tax on rental cars at ITH airport hurts).Okay fine...I give in...renovation is nice. But it cannot be like 3 steps forward and 2 steps backwards. It has been months since the renovation was completed but they have not fixed the WiFi. It still works in the old parts of the airport (before security). They just have to boost the coverage..how expensive it is to get a router/switch? I get it for a hundred dollars at the local Fry’s electronics. This is completely unacceptable. The 3 stars is for the staff...especially the airport manager who strives really hard to keep folks motivated...but he is just one guy. Especially how he personally and his small crew kept the airport open during the February 7, 2020 snow storm and tried their best to keep things operational. Feel for him.
A bit of a snaggle with a delayed flight, but the facilities were impeccable! The pavement in the parking lot left a bit to be desired as it was looking a bit old and crumbly in some places. All the same the airport staff, facilities, and amenities were lovely! A very comfortable area to wait!
I am in the need of a wheelchair. I arrived last nite on the 1015 flight from Philadelphia. There was no one there to greet me or I could talk to. I stared walking and walking with no one to help me. Have you ever clocked how long that is t baggage claim? Probably not. I arrived at baggage claim with my heart almost beating out of my skin. I was scared to death. Thank God my Grandson came to my rescue . I think this should be addressed immediately. My whole trip all I did was praise American until this happened. I have A-F and lucky to be alive today. Would to hear how u address this situation.
My family and I arrived to see my son off to the middle East to serve our country, everyone and I mean everyone was so accommodating and friendly and supportive. We experienced something I havent experienced yet, we were allowed to enter on to the teramac to watch our sons plane take off. That touched our hearts more than they know. I WILL use this airport for all my or my familys travels!
The joy of fastening your seatbelt on your aircraft 15 minutes after locking your car is never lost on me. There is a minimal version of TSA Precheck now so you can keep your shoes on. Youll have to gate check most carry ons since the CRJ200 and ERJ145s that come here have small overhead bins, and its advisable to leave time if you need to check bags since the airport can be understaffed. Traveling light, arriving even 15 minutes before boarding time is too early.
When we first descended into the airport, we all thought we were literally dying. The landing was a no bueno. The airport looked like a battle ground. The whole airport was torn apart and they only had vending machines and porta potty’s, not to mention no a/c with temps in the upper 80’s. Our flight home was cancelled as well as all flights for the rest of the day. When our flight was cancelled to PA they didn’t pay for our hotel, or rental car. They did manage to get us a 5:45am flight the next morning to Scranton, forcing us to rent a car and book a hotel for an extra day. Don’t EVER fly into this tiny airport that looks like a dumpy, abandoned building that you would see in a horror movie.
Small airport. Friendly people. But my flight left at 610 pm and the cafe was closed when we arrived at 5pm. We figured we could share a light meal together b4 I left. I was not familiar with this airport, but I dont have any love lost for the city of Ithaca the lackluster Airport accommodations shouldnt have surprised me.
This is a nice little airport, I have flown in and out of it a few times. Typical small setting, which is preferred many times over those big airports with large crowds. There are issues. Recently I got off the plane, and left my daughter inside with the luggage while I got the car and pulled up front at the curb. As soon as I walk from the car, the obsessively overweight guy comes from the door yelling: Is this your car? You cant leave your car! I am telling him I got a young daughter inside with the luggage. You cant leave your car!!! Really? This is what small airports are about in good old America, they are convenient and accommodating. Not this one. So I told him to go get my daughter and bring the luggage. Let the stickler work some sweat, he needs good exercise. He did. This is a first time I experienced a guy being so rude at a small local airport. Hopefully airport manager, Bob Nicholas, takes a note of this, because this attitude turns people away.Another time, couple of years ago, there was a navigation equipment failure at this airport. I found out from one local pilot that Ithacas ILS is usually down a few months when it breaks. I agreed with her, that is ridiculous. It means that if visibility is less than a minimum, you cannot land in Ithaca. Often times there is a dense fog in the morning, and guess where youll end up? Some place else, and let the adventures begin.Fly safe.
Never, ever use this airport in the winter. Roller skating would be preferable. Youd think an airport in Ithaca, New York, would be more prepared to deal with mild ice, but... no. Completely unwilling to accommodate any inconveniences, and I get that no one wants to be here at this time of year, but some of the staff couldnt care less about your concerns. Take a bus instead or something, especially if youre flying out from here.
No TSA precheck options and no warning that its not available (so if you pack counting on not having to drag out your liquids and electronics, youll end up holding up the line a lot!)Asked TSA agent if he knew of a way to check beforehand whether TSA Precheck security was available, and he told me well theres only one line! This neither answered my question, nor is a good way to tell whether precheck security clearance is available! Ive been at other small airports with one line before and was accommodated. Also the vending machine inside security took 6 minutes to dispense my pretzels after putting in the code.
Basically a pretty badly managed airport. If you happen to fly out on a warm sunny day and all the stars align properly, youll get out of there and usually on time. But the facility seems ill-equipped to deal with anything that comes up, and flights are frequently cancelled or severely delayed as they have to call in Bob the mechanic who lives an hour away, or the de-icing person didnt show up for work, etc etc. If you are on a schedule, fly out of Elmira or Syracuse instead. Otherwise, you have a 50/50 chance of actually getting out of Ithaca when you intended to.
This is the worst airport in the entire universe. Each and every employee was beyond rude and could not be bothered to actually work- taking 5 minutes for each person to move through security as they employees laughed and talked instead of doing their jobs. The Delta desk had no one present when I first arrived - stood there patiently waiting and asked a nearby TSA agent what the deal was - she said someone will be there without looking up from her book. Meanwhile a line is forming - finally the Delta lady showed up and was also rude and unpleasant. My bag was 1 lbs over 50 lbs and she would not just let it slide.I will never return to this airport. Elmira is infinitely better. Avoid this place at all costs.
United staff and manager were exceptional - so nice. They helped me get to Newark so I could pick up my passport at the airport Fedex office, for my connecting flight to Hong Kong. I cant believe it all worked out! Thanks to all who helped me get here! So appreciative!
My wife arrived for check in for the 6 am Newark flight and realized shed forgotten her Ipad, which she needs for work. I ran home to get it, & arrived only 10 minutes before departure. The TSA staff and the sheriffs deputy all knew I was coming, and shepherded the Ipad through security, where a United agent scooped it up and delivered it to its owner, already on the plane. Thanks everyone at ITH for being the best and friendliest airport staff!
Delta flights, from and to Detroit late late late late while the nearby Elmira/Corning Delta Detroit flights always on time. Embarassing for Ithaca....luggages: pink tags come out with the regular checked in lugagges but they appear after.....why? and if there is rain or snow, pinktagged luggages come out all wet...and btw, you wait 20 minutes....embarassing!
Usually have no problem with the airport however Ive never tried to call you before. Im using the number from your website and Im in a loop with your answering machine. it says if you know the number of the person you wish to call dial it now. and it loops the same recording over and over and over again until it disconnects. the website says you were open 24 hours today. so whats up with the loop
A small regional airport. The procedure and physical examination proceeded relatively smoothly, and I have no particular complaints. There are few flights, so there is no bustle. There is one shop and dining room in the waiting area. Buses run from the airport to downtown, but due to the small number of buses, we recommend taking a taxi or Uber. If you arrive at 11:00 pm, please note that the bus does not operate.

2021-12-11Amazing, you could show up at the airport 30 mins before your flight and be fine. Smooth, clean, renovated, nice amenities, nicely laid out, been to a lot of airports but this is a top 3. 10:10

2022-05-15Nice little airport with amazing workers.Unifi personal staff the counters and gates not airline employees. After a voluntary flight cancellation, Amy, Jeremy, and Kate spent several hours dealing with slow Delta computer systems arranging new flights, vouchers, sold-out hotel rooms, transportation to Syracuse and meals. They turned a bad situation into a relatively positive one.

2021-02-28Such a convenient airport, right in town. I dont have to drive to EWR or JFK and can fly out right from here. On days like this one Im so thankful that there is an airport in town. I wish the fares are a little cheaper. I know the airlines are not doing great but as students we dont have a lot of spare cash. The facilities are good and the staff are very friendly. Overall Ill give this airport 5 stars for convenience.

2021-09-15Newly remodeled and so nice now!! Everything was great. The only suggestion I have is to work on the PA system as it echoes and you cannot understand the announcements. :)

2022-05-05My favorite and most popular days…Taco Tuesday, Fish Fry Fridays and the all you can eat weekend Brunch on Saturday and Sunday’s. Monday, Wednesday and Thursday chef specials are always great!! The standard sides macaroni and cheese, candied yams and collard greens are the best! You won’t be disappointed!

2022-02-24Your backyard airport to go places if youre an Ithacan or a student at one of the schools here. The airport is extraordinarily close to town and everything is in a small building which means getting on the plane in no time. The major difficulty is being able to book one of the few flights out of here before they get full (which sends many to SYR to catch their flights)

2022-05-03I just got in last night from Charlotte NC. I was totally disgusted that I had to wait 40 minutes to get my carry-on luggage at baggage claim! The luggage should have been picked up on the walkway from the plane to the terminal just like they picked up my carry on when I left to go to Charlotte. I then had to drive an hour home. This is an easy fix! Even Chemung County Airport doesnt take that long. Think twice if you are in a hurry to get home. I did not pay for the bag to be checked in! Another aggravating thing with all airlines.

2022-03-07There seemed to be an understaffing issue, as the baggage clerk was also the gate attendant. The public address system must have been down as well, as he had to yell instructions and information to the travelers at the gate. On a good note, the TSA agents were kind and quite engaging. Overall my trip was a positive experience.
