They did an absolutely phenomenal job repairing my boots. To say hes a magician, doesnt cover it all. I took in an extremely worn pair of beloved thigh high boots and he made them better than new. I drag my feet and had worn off over an inch of the heel and my soles were paper-thin and cracked. They dont make this particular pair or style anymore, so I wasnt quite ready to let them go despite so much wear and tear.They completely reconstructed the heels, put in a super comfy sole, and polished them beautifully. All in all - the work was stunning and his prices are definitely affordable. Would highly recommend as a cobbler and will certainly be bringing in many more well loved shoes to give them a second life.
I brought 3 pairs of shoes in and Ari did an amazing job! It also only took 2 days! He made recommendations on what each (very worn out) pair of shoes needed and checked in with any questions or changes. The shoes looks good as new! Will be taking all shoes to Ari in the future!!

I found Jacobs Shoe Repair right by my job and went in and spoke to Ari about my two shoes and how I wanted the hooks changed on one and replaced in another. Ari was very knowledgeable and gave me different suggestions and he was very honest with me. He was able to fix them in just a matter of days and when I went to go pick them up they looked amazing! He searched everywhere trying to find the perfect hook for my shoes! I’m very happy I found Ari and Jacobs Shoe Repair because I would be able to wear my two favorite shoes without his help. He was very friendly and knows what he’s talking about. I highly recommend!
I am so pleased with the time and effort that Ari took in repairing my shoes. As you can see, these were way past their expiration date but now they are brand new! So happy I stumbled upon this gem, brought my shoes back to life!

This man can do anything in this super tiny shop. I brought in a bag to get the leather strap reattached, and an older scratchy beloved sweatshirt to grab the design off of the back and turn it into a patch. He insisted on picking the right color thread for the bag so you couldnt tell it had ever been repaired, and he asked me to come back in, just to make sure he had exactly right what I wanted for the jacket. I left with a perfect patched leather jacket that looks terrific. The owner is funny and warm, and the service has a quick turnaround at a great price. For my leather goods and shoes, this is my go-to spot.
Ari saved my feet and my day! I walked in with blistered feet from poorly made shoes and not only did he bandage me up but he also fixed my shoes on the spot. Ari has fixed several pairs of shoes for me and always has my shoes looking like new. Solid pricing, work and service. Always has them ready when he says theyll be done, and a good guy in general. If you need a shoe guy in the neighborhood, hes the one!
Good talk, but its unreasonable to charge $15 for punching some holes on a belt you did in 3 minutes. I rather buy me a hole puncher. Also if the charge is fair for the store, the employee should accept card and not cash only.I read that Im not the first person being overcharged and I can testify this - just because Im friendly and live in NY doesnt mean I can be taken advantage of.
Ari is great — he put heel & toe taps on my new boots ($10!!) and made suggestions on waterproofing them at home before wearing them. He also did a fantastic shoe shine. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Not only did I get my boots back in pristine condition, but the service I received was amazing! It is so rare to find good, courteous, and positive service these days, and Ari did just that. I brought in a pair of boots that had been quoted by a nearby shoe repair place at a higher price, and I ended up with so much more. I will definitely be back for all my shoe repair needs.

There is a difference between shoe repair and true craftsmanship. The quality of the repairs and re-crafting I have had done over the years here is unlike any other place I’ve ever had my shoes serviced.The repairs look original and last much longer. Always impressed. The guys are friendly and helpful problem solvers. We moved away from Manhattan, but currently considering mailing some shoes here to get tuned up!
Jacob is really a master of his craft. Brought a pair of old shoes I love that another person had messed up applying the wrong color in a shoe shine and Jacob not only fixed them but left them looking brand new, literally added a couple of years to the shoes’ lifespan.

My 3-year-old, black leather boots look brand new. They were previously torn, scuffed, barely soled, and green from salt stains. For only a fraction of their original price, Ari was able to resole, paint and clean them perfectly. He was so excited to show me the finished product and takes true pride in his excellent work.
I cannot say enough good things about Jacob’s Shoe RepairMy handbags are my most prized possessions and over the years, they had gotten quite worn due to excessive wear in NYC. They needed some tlc ASAP!I shopped around for a bag repair place and was either quoted exorbitant amounts or was turned away because of the amount of work required. I had used Jacob’s years ago for a shoe repair and was satisfied so I figured I would show my bags to its owner- Ari. He carefully examined each one and gave realistic recommendations as well as estimated time that the work would take. His pricing was very reasonable compared to the other shops. LoopWhen I received my bags, I almost squealed with delight! It was as if they were brand new from the store. It was evident that Ari put his all into his work. I am extremely happy with the results and will definitely be recommending Ari and Jacob’s Shoe Repair to friends and family. I couldn’t be more pleased!
The quality of services I received exceeded all my expectations.I had two pairs of my favorite shoes that I was ready to say goodbye to. My Uggs got completely destroyed when I was caught in the middle of heavy rain. I just pick them up and they look like new! Also, Ari revived my favorite pair of stilettos that got destroyed by subway grate.Very happy with these services!
I took a very very nice pair of tall brown leather boots to Jacobs shop. I had never been before but it is right by my office so very convenient. It turned out they did a terrific job. My boots look like new. He put new soles, heels, fixed the worn down toe, polished them and waterproofed. Will definitely go back!!
Won’t go anywhere else - expert and trustworthy service. Had a torn strip of leather repaired on my otherwise brand new Rachel Comey Winter 2021 boots, as well as stretched them to a comfortable width. Also had my beloved brown leather vintage wallet fully conditioned and touched up so it’s looking better than I’ve ever seen it look. Side note: I can’t believe the prices of other competitors.... you have to go to jacob’s because it’s exceptional across the board and significantly more economical!

Jacobs Shoe Repair is my go-to shop! I just picked up a pair of leather boots that I dropped off and couldnt be happier. They are better than new. Last week, I was tempted to go out and buy a new pair of boots since these were so worn out and now Im so happy with these that theres no need! On top of the quality of work, they are extremely personable and friendly. There are a number of shops in the financial district, but this is the best in my experience.
This shoe repair service is amazing! First time I came here about a year ago after reading lots of great yelp reviews and since then it has become my go-to place for issues of any complexity. My boots looked awful and very damaged but I loved them so much so I decided to try to get them repaired. They came out like new!! I was amazed and very happy. The owner is very polite and puts his soul into every pair of shoes. For another pair he analyzed a type of a damage (because of the way I walk and the shoe construction) and proposed some tweaks to minimize the potential future damage. He even carved a heeltap a special way to match the style! No need to mention that all shoes were clean, polished and just perfectly fixed. The best quality, I cannot be thankful enough!
I had a pair of shoes re-soled and another pair cleaned. Good service and fast. They were finished in a little more than 24 hours. He told me he wasnt sure if he could fully clean my suede sneakers but they came out nice and better than anticipated. They also accept credit cards which is great, Ive been to little shoe places in the past that are cash only. I would recommend for any shoe needs in a quick turnaround time.
I have been coming here for the past three years. I always get great service. He is a true craftsman. Recently I brought in my wifes 20 year old Coach bag that has seen a lot of use and he restored it to like new condition.

I brought in a pair of Valentino boots last week that were in terrible shape. The entire front of the shoe was peeling and the bottom had been worn down to nothing. I picked them up the next day and they were like new. I couldn’t believe that he was able to fix them and only charged my $75 when the leather spa wanted $135! Thank you so much!!

Ari is a miracle worker. Took in a pair of high-end boots that had worn right through the back block heels. They look like new, thanks to Ari. I’ve been going to Ari for the past 3 years now after bring ripped off of not very happy with other shoe repairs all over the city. I’ve had my louboutins Re-solded at so many different cobblers even in Sydney and London (at places recommended by Louboutin), but his workmanship and soles are by far the best. The material he uses is a similar texture to the original sole - so its impossible to tell they have been re-soled. Even after wearing them they are still shiny and look like a pair of Louboutins that have never touched the ground. He also is able to handle complex repairs to my shoes which other places like the leather spa either can’t fix or will cost an arm and a leg. I’ve taken dozens of shoes to him and have never been short of impressed - can not recommend him enough for Christian Louboutin or any shoe jobs!!!

Awesome service and reasonable prices. I came to this place for the first time just because I had an emergency with one of my heels, and the office I work at is around the block. But from that time on it is the only place I bring all my shoes to. My beige UGGs and all my heels look like new. Prices are very reasonable for this location.

He is always kind to me, very efficient and consistent with his work. The quality of the rubber is great for NYC, it lasts, and he cares about a good execution. He also really really loves shoes.
The owner gets the job done quickly and does it well! His rates are reasonable for FiDi/Manhattan and he accepts credit cards in a business that is often times cash only. My boots look brand new and will last another fall/winter season.

Ari is great! He’s always honest about what to expect and never settles for mediocre. Prices are completely reasonable especially considering the level of craftsmanship. Despite the many cobblers in the area Jacob’s shoe repair is definitely my go to!

Ari charged me 3x the price listed for sloppy work and destroyed my shoes. He asked for money upfront so upon receipt when I said the shoes were missing a piece he refused a refund. He insisted I came in with my shoes that way and screamed at me for hours on the phone, intermittently hanging up and calling me again. This is one of the worst businesses I have ever been to in New York. Go at your own risk.UPDATE: I went to Bloomingdales straight from Jacobs and was quoted $20 for the same service (Jacobs charged me $45), plus $40 to fix the damage from Jacob’s work. Jacobs has still not issued a refund.

Jacob did a terrible job on my boots, refused to fix it, said it’s impossible to do. was very rude and unprofessional. i took my boots to other place and there were happy to help and fixed my boots, no problem. never going back.

2022-01-15Happy customer! The shorter boots in the pic were completely destroyed, they are 8 years old: the leather looked grey, the heel was damaged and the insole had let loose. They completely fixed the boot (put a new heel and insole, did a shoe shine) and made it look brand new again! The tall boot in the picture was a bit too tight, so they stretched it out and now they fit perfect. They also did a shoe shine making them look even better than when I had bought them. Ari and Dino are very friendly people! Would recommend going.

2022-03-30Ari is a shoe magician who takes a lot of pride in his work! I brought in my husband’s much loved and well worn shoes that we were told could not be re-soled as they were made of rubber but somehow he managed to get do it with non-slip vibrams and even added new insoles and polished them. They looked and felt even better than when he bought them new. Highly recommended this place for reliability, fast turnaround times and excellent service. So happy to have found this place — I will definitely be bringing my own shoes to him going forward.

2022-02-24I’m delighted with Ari’s work, fast and professional; my shoes were ready the next day! He changed the soles and fixed leather scratches (I wore them for almost six years, and the toes were terribly scuffed), and now they look brand new! Highly recommend it. The place deserves five stars!

2022-01-15I was wandering around fidi and Ari convinced me to come in for a spontaneous “good luck” shoe shine that I didn’t know I needed until he finished! Totally made my day and it was very kind of him. The boots look awesome and I feel on fire walking around all week since. He’s a very charismatic craftsman who cares a lot about his work. He did an extremely thorough job making my boots look better and shinier than they were when I bought them. The little shoe shop gives you all the sweet NYC feels and the conversation we had in there with all the people who came in and out was wholesome - one of my favorite NYC experiences that I didn’t expect to have! I can tell he’s very diligent and punctual based on the interactions he had with customers who came in to pick up their orders. 10/10 recommend.

2022-07-28Excellent shoe repair on designer shoes. My Hugo Boss white leather shoes were in bad condition and I considered throwing them away. Ari and Nelson bring the feel of a local cobbler paired with the inviting atmosphere of a trusted family friend. I was searching for a spot to clean and maintain the shoes that I own and had trouble finding a spot that I was confident in and wouldnt rip me off for a poor job. Ari and Nelson are exactly the opposite! They welcomed me in graciously and built a foundation of reliance that I felt comfortable to leave my belongings with for safekeeping.More similar elucidated - the price is fantastic for the service and hospitality that Jacobs Shoe Repair offers. 2022-04-08I had torn a panel of my leather jacket and came here after a recommendation from the barista at my coffee shop. Ari did an excellent job repairing the jacket for a much more reasonable price than the Leather Spa around the corner. He was also very quick (three days work days) - when the other place had quoted 5-6 weeks. I was also about to order new boots, but got a shoe shine instead and Im very glad I did! Highly recommend!!

But Arkadiy did some magic and fixed them, now bothe pairs look like new, incredible!!! Highly highly recommend.
