Im rating the hotel only, I didnt gamble... First and foremost the staff was great, friendly and helpful. The hotel itself needs to up there game. Parking is horrendous besides the moon size craters, you have to drive up and down to find parking. At times following people to there cars to get the spot if your lucky. Your not the only car doing this either. This is due to the casino patrons, they should have separate parking for over night guests. Rooms itself were clean but needs alot of cosmetic updates. You have to show your ID every single time you come in, no exceptions annoying but I get it.
To begin, my fiancé and I stayed at a Jakes Suite.Cleanliness level is bad. Bed Sheets had snot on it on the side of the bed when we got there. We contacted front desk and no one was available to assist with changing the sheets and asked me to come down and get them. Also their toilet broke , they came to fix itYet housekeeping didn’t clean the mess. Then the toilet broke again and I end up using the casino restroomNo one at the front desk was able to help us and the manger wasn’t available at all.Till this day we are still trying to get thru management-regards our horrible stay. This has been my worst experience at a hotel. If I could rate without putting a star I would. Be cautious of this place
I brought my elderly neighbor here to gamble .I went to eat dinner in the restaurant. I ordered the ribs which were dry and rubbery . I am still chewing it. I was hungry snd ate it but I wish I had left and found a TGIF Restaurant or McDonalds. . I saw other people’ s food and it didn’t look good either. However , the waiter ( Johnson) and staff were VERY friendly . My recommendation is that they hire a real chef . The menu choices are few and basic so there is no reason why the food shouldn’t be good.
I booked a hotel stay with your establishment from today until Saturday. I booked for 2 adults 1 child. Upon arrival we unloaded all of our things and were stopped by security who informed us that no child was allowed in the building or on the property and we couldn’t stay there with a child. NOWHERE does it say that on your website and I’m 7 months pregnant traveling with my husband and a 2 year old and we came 14 hours to stay there. The security officer laughed at us telling us that and no one seemed to care. I’m disgusted by this and cannot believe this policy is no where on your website.
Well time has come to post feedback on Jakes 58. Previously run and operated by Delaware North now run by NYS Lottery. What was previously a great local place to visit, gamble a few bucks, enjoy a snack and sometimes win a few, has now turned into another way to bleed us Long Islanders dry to finance their bureaucratic wastefulness. Instead having a little give and take with the machines, this so called casino leaves less of a chance of winning than from previous owners. For all those players out there...Beware! Time to head back to New Jersey or Connecticut casinos where they care about their clients. Maybe it’s time for tribal casinos to open up out east and give the lottery officials something to worry about.
It was clean and the staff were pleasant...not a huge fan of video gaming..but i made my small donation and the staff explained how it worked easily. My only comments were that the place felt stuffy considering it was not that hot outside... no waitress svce for drinks and the atmosphere was muted in my opinion...no energy from the tables...a good place to visit once..or kill time.. but sef not a venue for serious gambling
The service on the floor is absolutely horrendous. There for several employees walking around but they were so busy staring at the TV and watching the hockey game that they didnt pay attention to anyone at the machines that needed assistance good. I had to get up and go find someone and it wasnt even busy tonight. I wont be back for quite a while
Perfect if you are a degenerate gambler..also good if you want to do something for 2-3 hours. Lots of shot locals. No real table games, digital roulette, craps and black jack are the closest It gets. No free drinks. But still 4nstars because it is legal gambling in long island with out the 4 hour drive to other destinations.
Been going to Jakes weekly since they opened and I must say since OTB took it over wow has it gone downhill. The changes are noticeable the second u pull into the driveway with the treacherous potholes all over the parking lot.Makes u wanna reconsider spending ur money if they could care less about anyones safety.Gone are the days where you would write a review and Delaware North would promptly respondAnd offer to help alleviate any concerns from dining ,your gambling experience and hotel stay ..Covid restrictions have been lifted however gone are the coffee/ soda stations , practically non existent cocktail service and even the audacity to charge you 3.50 for a soda..The bar upstairs tiles are all rotted near the rug and the upstairs casino rug has dips and divots in it making it a hazard to twist an ankle .Gone are all the aristocrat machines and zero Konami machines that are ever so popular at Resort World & Yonkers . What you are left with is a plethora of progressive money eater machines all with $8.88 bets or $5.00 bets yielding the worst bang for your buck .Until OTB gets their act together I would tell everyone to save your money and take the xtra 20 min drive to Resort World Or Empire City and u will see a world of difference in jackpot wins and all around maintenance and free sodas ,coffee and water ..Sorry Jakes 58 but your losing many good customers and don’t get me started on that embarrassment you call a hotel .. You know the one that u never remodeled since it was a Marriott 20 years ago .The Hyatt at resort world is new and absolutely exquisite .Jakes if your going to rob us blind please atleast allow us a beautiful place to rest our head and get a free cup of coffee.
While I unfortunately did not win tonight, I have won a few thousand in the past on a few occasions. Ive been to casinos all along the east coast & Id have to say Jakes seems to pay the best, maybe not the most, but personally Id rather see 10 decent winners than 1 massive win. From hearing the winners to glancing at the screens, Ive never seen so many people with a decent amount of $ at the same time, on a daily basis. Its smart, they pay out smaller amounts more frequently because theyre going to get it all back & then some. At least let the people feel happy for a little bit instead of walking in and losing everything right away all the time, at least I feel like theres a good chance I can leave with some money.
We stayed there for 4 nights. Their security is ridiculous. They are keep checking everything more and more, even though I just passed security and came back after one second. Cleaning was good. And their cart rental is dumb. They told us to write down everything to not to lose the carts but the time I tried to check out, they lost all of their carts. Securities are the worst people there. We will never come back. NEVER EVER.
Definitely zero starsI had a reservation scheduled. I went to check in, security was very rude and disrespectful, he told me to take off my mask to take the picture to check in or exit through the doors, I explained it is very risky to remove the mask with so much people, I was still spoken to very disrespectful by the security guard to exit the doors, I will never book this place again, they have no respect for customers
(SCAM ALERT) This place is one of if not the biggest scam of a casino. Wouldnt be shocked if they dont follow any gaming payout rules. If your looking for a place to lose quick this is it. Dump money into a machine to hit a 0 on the bonus multiple times. These machines are tighter then anything I have ever seen. Thats just the casino part! Rooms are old and stink like mold and all the food is frozen TV dinners way over priced. A beer is about $10/a piece. This may possibly be the worst casino ever!!! Id rather eat sugar free harboro gummi bears. (If you know you know)
Terrible service from the entrance with the rude security guard to a unpleasant stay in our room. Sticky tables , smelt like smoke, the fire alarm was covered with a bag! You have to pay for everything to drink no free water. Everything closes so early and the casino is still open you have to go to your room to get something to drink or a vending machine. Is all they do is use Covid as an excuse to be lazy and make money! It’s ridiculous. I will never recommend this place what so ever!
Not a very fun place to go to. I havent been to a casino in a long time and I expected to see things how it once was. Every game has been put onto a computer and literally everyone was sitting in front of a screen. We played Blackjack. The computer dealer nearly always got 21. In less than 30 minutes, we were down a lot of money. I give it two stars because there were plenty of machines and drinks were good at least.
Always Fun and Very profitable the first day. Well if your smart.. But do yourself a favor and NEVER go back the very next day. Chances are you will not win like you did the day before. But its always good times, and you can always walk away with a decent amount of money if your smart. You gotta know how to play the machines and not let the machines play you.HERES A GREAT TIP THAT ALWAYS WORKS --- I mainly stick to poker and black jack. I put 100 in and After 4 or 5 hands in a row that I just won which usually turns that 100 into 400-600 i ALWAYS cash out and go have a drink or cigarette and then go to a different game or machine. Your always bound to lose one and even a couple in a row, but that always goes for winning. Youll always get a few wins in a row but a loss always comes. Gotta collect that ticket before it comes. Play Smart! I promise its a great tip
My first time there, meh, nobody winning that I could see. Not impressed. Screened at the door, had to wear a mask, it was too hot and things were closed, like food. Coatcheck room is way in the back. I didnt care to gamble, table games are video. Wheres the fun in that? Boring.
It has been awhile since we have gone to Jakes 58. We recently went just to get out if the house. I couldn’t get a seat at a slot as there were people holding spots for other people and people playing two machines at once. It was very frustrating. I wanted to play but was unable to. I stood for about 2 hours just because I was waiting for my ride.
I booked a room through a discount hotel app. I didnt quite know what to expect but the room was clean & acceptable. The hotel was fine albeit showed its age a bit. Since the hotel & casino are in the same building you need to go through security check each time you enter. Covid precautions were taken. Check-in desk was helpful. Kitchen was open late, which was a plus. Bar was well stocked. I did not use the casino but it was not overwhelming to the experience.
Its ok, nothing to brag about. The casino is a local getaway for a few hours. The atmosphere was lively. Unfortunately, they do not have a good amount of different slot games. Its very few games to play. However, I did play and enjoyed myself while profiting a little something. There were no drink attendees walking around offering drinks. However, the payoff was slower than normal. I recommend this casino if you have nothing to do..lol
Just want to say to all of the people giving nasty reviews, what is up with you? I have been going to Jakes since it opened and never had a bad experience, you win some and lose some. The place may not be like the other casinos but its a great time and the food and staff is great. So dont listen to those idiots, they are probably losing alot.
HORRIBLE PLACE.... the security guys are nasty and rude. My fiance couldnt leave the building for 2 days bc they wouldnt let him come back in bc he lost his ID. This is the opposite of a glamorous destination casino... its poor people gambling away their SSI and rent checks.... avoid at all costs.
I very rarely give negative reviews everything is fine with Jake’s as far as service but reason I gave three out of five is because pothole situation must be fixed they must at least put cones inside the potholes so the elderly drivers can see them it has been like this for Two weeks I I spoke with staff there and he told me that he let management know weeks ago it’s very dangerous driving
First time TV here youre picture is taken at the entrance. You then go upstairs to the right to guest services to give your drivers license to get an ID card to accrue points for specials theyre running. My first time there I wandered about and theres lots to see and do gambling wise......
This place is a pit. The rudest people I have ever encountered with the exception of the front desk staff. The toy cops as you walk in are absolutely ridiculously rude. I will be reporting this business to the bbb. The rooms are somewhat clean. Very dingy linens, my comforter actually has a hole in it with the inner fill coming out. Clearly this place is about the casino !! I will include more pictures when and if I return to get my belongings
They do have tight security when you go in, you do need your license. Upon check-in you must give your license and whoever else is with you has to give their license to check in. The room was clean and the bed was really comfortable. We didnt hit the jackpot but we had a good time. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed. Other than that, it was a good night out.
I will continue posting the horrible experience I had due to after several calls and emails no one had gotten back to me about my situation at the entrance to the casino. The guard was unprofessional and threatening as I asked for a mask. He refused me entrance or even made no attempt to get me one. He told me I had to leave , even though I booked two rooms for 6 days. Made no attempt to resolve the problem. After being assured a mask would be there by the front desk, and standing on line a second time, he again told me he had no mask and I had to leave. Long story short, where is the customer service resolution to a unhappy customer.
Ok place. Nothing great. Food mediocre. Unfortunately, under staffed, which seems to be the issue of a number of places. Just in case you are not aware-you require id to enter. They scan your license. Very strict. They also make sure you are photographed. Mask required.
The room was clean, however it has peeling wallpaper, a wrinkle in the carpet. No in room coffee, no available room service. Check in was slow. Got a coffee on the morning had to wait for someone to show up as the coffee and bagel bar after unattended. No seating in front of the hotel..... Two stars is being generous
I hit $10,000 when it first opened. In the past 9 months I’ve gone through $50,000 easily. I walk in spend $200-1000 twice a week sometimes 3 times. I never play the minimum but I only play maximum if the machines are hot. Biggest win $800 but for the most part I must say as a black diamond member I’m Officially done being Taken and Even tho they say the cards aren’t tracked the only times I win is when I take the card out. Also Notice that the YOUNG kids all win probably to get more of their friends in to drink and play. I’m done walking in taking down my pants and getting kicked right in that sweet spot that lingers on for the whole day. Today you took my last $200 Jakes, shame on you for not giving a little and just taking ;)
Totally the worst casino on planet earth. Do not go there to play table games because you will never win Table game are fully rigged and should be investigated!!! If you win a number say for $20 on the roulette and go to cash it at the cashier, you will never win another game for the rest of your time there!! Plus it seems the money they give is marked. No one win at jakes !! Especially if you playing table game!! And I repeat Nobody!!!!!!!!!!! Worst place to go are to invite friends !!!
Positive: The beds were really soft, which I love and pillows nice. I had a little dilemma with an out fit and the front desk girl  was to my rescue. Negative: One elevator for 10 floors with at least 200 guests. Only one eatery being served out of cardboard box really wasn¿t my thing. I was locked out of room three times and on 9th floor with one elevator sucks! I filled out a thing to get $10 free play, no
I had a great time. The casino is spotless. They wipe everything down once a person leave the machine and the chair they check temp, take your photo and drivers liscense and write it on a form. The bathrooms are so clean. They had a lady in there cleaning every second. I cannot wait to return.
The hotel room needs updating, the slots machines are old they need to be more modern and change out a few times a month, they have dancing drums, the newest one is dancing drum explosion, they have 88 fortune the newest is 88 fortune emperors, they have stinkin n riches the newest one is stinking riches gone wild, these are a couple examples. OTB, need to stay in horse racing, not casino!!
Jakes 58, a message to the financial holders please take note !I am a resident and would like to make Jakes 58 my local recreational casino but under the current corporate policies this will not happen. The many times I have visited your casino I made a handsome depot. At each revisit, I am hesitant with the returning revisit since you do not give any incentives for a future comebacks. After spending $400, the big return bonus for my next visit was a mere $10.00. Not only, is the bonus return the lowest compared to CT, NJ, Ma, you also do not offer a free buffet and with any decent food. My recommendation for you is to Clear one complete floor of hotel room space for a buffet dinner area so you can reward your repeating customers. Where are your free giveaways, why not give out free NY state lottery tickets, silverware and dishes, Pen Sets, Cutlery?
Positive: Casino Negative: The desk staff asked if I preferred more quiet I said yes. She picked 9th floor. It was not quiet,I slept like crap. Doors slam so loud & people were loud in hall. 1 elevator and took forever. The line to enter was so long everytime, u get carded also.
Always good, I especially was happy ,when I called to see if I could reschedule my original date from Oct 3rd to the 17thn ,due to medical procedure, they were so helpful, and it was done in minutes, considering I called on the 3rd,thanks again front desk, other than that everything was fine, clean, friendly staff.
No one walking around offering drinks. All self serve drink are closed. Bar charged me $5 for a tiny cup of coke. Not to mention no matter how much you bet on slots NOTHING paid bonuses, free spins. I spent $1,000 there and NEVER won anything above $20 with max betting. Will NEVER go back
Was going to come there this weekend for a wedding reserved three rooms only to find out that children were not allowed to stay at the property. I booked through a third party website per there suggestion when I called them. The hotel operator was not apologetic at all. If there customer service was like this on the phone Im glad I did not get a chance to stay there. I wish I could give a rating less than one star
We have going here on and off since Jakes opened. Many times seeing people win. However the last 4 times it was worst than disastrous. I never heard so many people complain that there were hardly any jackpot winners when in the past there were winners left and right. I was very disappointed. Time to find another casino 🙄🙄🙄. My husband said it was his last time, to bad he really liked Jakes.
Definitely one of the places not to go...Every time you get out for smoking (not allowed inside) you have to go through same security check - present ID, temp scan, look at camera etc...If you arent addicted to those machines and forced by friends to go there, there is no spot to seat and wait whilst those addicted ones have fun.Currently no normally operated Cafe or lounge to seat in case of above mentioned situation...So, one and only reason to visit this place is if youre addicted to machines, otherwise totally boring and ime wasting 😴
First time there and the good: It is easy parking and cleaners right there after use of machines by people. The bad: Very frustrating when you spin 20 -25 times at a dollar a spin and you get nothing but 10 cents and on one of the machines I got the bonus with 15 free spins and i got a total of .80 cents... needless to say i deserve better on dollar spins and had to leave because machines will not allow you to stay very long as they suck you dry and frustrated.
Went to Jakes the other day and I must say the security is thorough. They scan your Drivers license, take your facial picture (without the mask) and they take your Temp. The gaming floor on the first level was very busy so I went upstairs and it was enough social distancing for me to stay. Of course some machines are more popular than others and you have to wait for people to quit before you can get on. The Clean Team is on the floor and constantly wiping down every time someone vacates. As for Winning, everyone knows Gambling is mostly luck but I enjoyed my afternoon and didnt leave crying.
Havent visited Jakes since 2 years ago. Held my own all day. Had a 6 hr. stay there. Went first to my favorite machine that was paying on a reg. basis 2 years ago. Long story short...I put in my first $60 in and did not get 1 free spin in about 1 hour. I know these Casinos are hurting, but that was a real killer. It put a bitter pill in my mouth from that point forward. Couldnt really enjoy myself after that. Dont know when I will be back
Older hotel once owned by Marriott. The website is very misleading, it shows a swimming pool in the pictures. In fact the swimming pool with filled years ago and that is their lobby now. Secondly any hotel I stayed out anywhere in the world has coffee in the room. When I woke up this morning I could not find the coffee machine. I have now been told since there is no coffee in the rooms
Absolutely horrific experience! Arrived at opening to a ten minute elevator wait(the other wasnt working) After some gaming, I decided to get coffee for us. Another ten minute wait for the elevator followed by a twenty minute wait to order ( I had 2 people on line in front of me) just as I stepped up to order a security guard stepped in front of me saying sorry sweetheart but I only have a 15 minute break and I need my tea. OK seriously but whatever .. finally I get to order 4 coffees and whoa the cashier rolls her eyes and gives me an exasperated sigh. She proceeded to inform me she is the cook and most of the staff was fired and shes being overwhelmed, am I sure I need 4? Moving along finally with coffee in tow back to the 10 minute elevator wait...at last I finally return to my party and dispense the coffees. Barely a sip into the cup and all of a sudden BOOM another security officer has suddenly appeared informing us we must throw the coffee out. No drinking on the casino floor. I politely inquire where it states that only to be told its just a rule. He proceeded to threaten us with being escorted off premise if we did not toss our coffee. Mind you, my party was actively engaged in the virtual craps table and if you play you know youre locked into the pass line. The wannabe corrections officer insisted we do it immediately..dude its coffee for Petes sake. Well unfortunately rather than lose their money on the table game my party tossed out said coffee as I went off to find management. Another fiasco with the manager who says marketing removed the no drinking signs um ok but I dont work for you Im a PAYING GUEST ! I dont care about what screw ups your people have done but forcing the customer to toss her paid for coffee after being cut off by you employee and made to feel like my purchase was an imposition to your cook filling in as a cashier is all just unacceptable and very bad for business!!!I did ask the manager if hes a gamer and he replied yes. I asked what does he do when hes gaming and wants coffee? He replied he goes and has coffee and returns. Hmm know what I do? In Atlantic City I have the waitress bring me a cup while Im rolling the dice.Omg AND this is the NEW management?? Horrible treatment of guests in this place !AVOID JAKES 58 AT ALL COSTS!!!
The only thing that dont make any good sense was you give me 30.00 for a food comp and require me use it at one meal and dont have a menu with and nearly casting 30.00 therefore I lose the hole 30.00 that bad.if you cant offer a better menu dont offer the comp. Thank you NJB.
Tables are rigged. Satyed at a hotel near it and met a worker that works at the casino and said dont go there no body ever wins everything is rigged.. wish I would have known before.. Worse place as a casino. They are ripping people off. Very sad they are getting away with it.
Even though I was up 200$ and should’ve won the super spin it didn’t spin and just gave me 20$ twice ,there was no warning onto the spinner being broken asked staff and they didn’t resolve issue one guy tried to say I hit diamond when it clearly said super spin they made no effort to reimburse the money I should’ve won , iwon 1000 dollars befor so at least let the spinner spin ,it just handed me 20$ Without spinning I felt like the cameras were watching me win and and just gave me 20$ twice because they didn’t want me to get money felt like I was cheated
They demand that you wear a mask upon entering their property, ask them for a mask and they will tell you they dont have them, you will then fight with the security team as I did, get all hot and bothered and irate and then you will call the front desk and they will tell you we have them !!!I dont know why they didnt provide you with one, then you could call and ask for the head of the place which is a guy named Dan ..who will then defend his security team and tell you have a nice day! They lost me as a customer
The worst casino I have ever been to it’s like a cemetery and the guards act like they prison guards. There’s like 75 slot machines available. And there were people waiting for the slot machines as well. this place is laughable we had a good laugh in the car. Go to empire casino or resorts world casino but they suck as well. so go to Mohegan sun way better. 😎
We stayed for my Birthday weekend had a good time.If you stay here during the pandemic know this....there are no microwaves in the rooms the snack bar is expensive and i dont think the restaurant is open.We went out for food every night and the first night by the time we got through the line to get to our room the food was cold. Only after making a fuss they let us pass the line to go upstairs to our room with our cold food. And was told by one of the security guards dont go out again.
Like someone else says, not too clean place. People smoke outside throwing the cigarettes butts everywhere. The place is small with the same machines on every turn. Its in the middle of nowhere and if dont drive, taking the train feels like a horror movie, because the station it is so isolated that is creepy. It took all my money without any fun, but on my last half an hour I got it all back slowly and I ran out of there
You dont get free money or anything for new members without having to come a second day and then its only $10. The winning percentage is really low for what you spend. They dont offer a lot of perks to motivate you to want to come back. The staff were really nice and helpful.
Sometimes covid regulations make it a little difficult employees should be more tuned in to their patrons and advise of their new rules such as no beverages on the casino floor. The regulation should be announced at point of sale of the product. That being said you can expect your normal Casino experience
The meals at Bistro 58 are simply delicious, large portions all cooked to order! The prime rib buffet on Friday and Saturday nights cant be beat either in quality or price. The C&M cafe has great breakfasts ,lunches and snacks if and when they have them because more often than not the are out of a lot of the things they sell. The service at both eateries as well as behind the front desk and the players club is very courteous, helpful and in most cases excellent. The accommodations do leave something to be desired with some rooms better than others. Lastly the gambling is gambling, sometimes you win but most times I feel you lose.
Have been here before, we had a comped room and got a very nice one which was a surprise but appreciated. Actual customer service at desk was nice, lost some money there aren’t that many blackjack or roulette tables I wish they had a little more variety. Drinks at bar are so watered down and taste just like a very sweet lemonade. One security guy was creepy and other people there can be so gross and rude but what else should I expect at 3 am on a Friday morning
I enjoy the Jakes for a quick gamble. We go regularly and enjoy the diverse slots. Nice that they change them, but I miss many of the old ones. The restaurant has good food at a reasonable price. Totally enjoy going with friends! Nice to have a casino so close to home.
Jake 58 is a local Long Island Casino. Their restaurant is very good great quality food good customer service. As far as the casino its a hit or miss with the slots. Have been back one time since covid-19 and it was okay playing slots but it could have been better. Jake 58 need to expand and get more machines for floors because its too small 4 people on Long Island. You have a lot of people who love to gamble but unfortunately Jakes cant accommodate the volume. They need to expand like the resorts in Queens. Slots which is the penny slots accessible to win just have to go in with an attitude to win.
Any casino is good if you were. Lucky enough to win. I had a good night. I will. Say that your stuff is helpful and very pleasant to deal with. Especially the ladies at the snack bar neat the black machines. Especially the young lady who just came back from having a baby. And also works the dining room at nights. All and all I had a very enjoyable evening.
Will never ever come here again. From when I walked in I was getting bothered about temperature check, they needed to scan my I.D then they broke protocol and told me to take my mask off and look at the camera when I just gave them my I.D. now what happens if someone was actually sick and they ask someone to take off their mask. As well my girlfriend was checking in and they needed my name to go to the room with my girlfriend. Ive never stayed at a place where they needed all the information, like whats next my social security. This place is a joke, will tell everyone my time here and most likely never return. You cant even drink while playing at the fake machines they have here. If I could give them a -1 as a score I would.
Although we did not visit the casino as we were only in town for a wedding my wife and I did enjoy our stay. Definitely not appealing from the exterior and inside was definitely better. The entrance is an enormous glass atrium. The sound or slot machines envelops you as you enter. It definitely put me in the mood to play! Staff was pleasant and actually helped us get a little extra discount. We had a corner room on the ninth floor which was pretty cool. Nothing special but quite large.
This casino is very clean and has a variety of games on each floor . We arrived at this casino around 8:00 and the parking lot , which is already small was packed . We ride around for like 15-20 minutes looking for a spot . After parking , we entered the establishment and were immediately greeted by security guards who asked for my Id. After being cleared we visited the various floor and played games which kept us entertained for about 3 hours . The bathrooms are clean , and well decorated. As I was leaving I tried to use a bathroom that was being mopped thinking that I could get in the bathroom anyway . The lady that was cleaning the bathroom was adamant about me staying out of the bathroom because it was soaking wet and could be dangerous for me . Luckily there was a unisex bathroom right next door that I could use . All in all this casino is great but it’s a very far drive from Brooklyn so I won’t be frequenting this casino often.
Not sure why cant have a child stay at hotel. Children can stay in Vegas and Atlantic City. I know its a casino downstairs but there isnt a casino in the hotel rooms. Didnt actually book here knowingly. It was done through Hotwire a hot rate so you dont know the hotel you are going to get and we get here and cant go in with my son. At least the room wasnt for us but they shouldnt put their hotel on a site where a family can unknowingly book then show up and not be allowed even in the lobby. The lobby looks like Penn Station btw.
Super crowded, I dont know what it was but the place had a weird smellI never lost money so fast in all my years of casual gambling. I dont mind losing money when I gamble because I already consider it gone when I walk in the casino. but if Im laying out $500 to have some fun, can you give me more than a dam hour of play time??I think I hit only one feature on all the machines I played. That Said, if you get the itch to play some slots and dont want to travel, it does get the job done...
Listen, I am not a gambling person; far as wanting to go to Atlantic City or Vegas all the time; but I always enjoy my visits to Jakes. The complimentary Valet parking is really a bonus (especially in these colder months) and the staff is always friendly and attentive. The selection of machines continues to grow and Ive seen some newer machines where familiar ones once were. Ive lost some money, and won some money, there and even though I am local, Im in the players club which can net you complimentary nights. Always a good thing for a quick staycation or just a place to go for a change of pace. Its really great to know I can stay on Long Island for a fun gaming experience and a quick getaway without having to pay a toll or cross a bridge...or, for that matter, a county border!
The room was nice and clean. Wooden floors instead of carpet, which I loved. The bathroom was spacious and equipped with most amenities, no toothpaste or tooth brush so bring your own. The bed was comfortable more on the firm side but just soft enough. The lobby is a little chaotic being that its a casino, make sure to bring your ID with you everywhere when you leave the room because theres security at every turn and theyll ask to see it. Overall I enjoyed my stay and would stay there again.
Casino is ok but the hotel portion needs a lot of work. Doesnt seem to be much updating done since the hotel was taken over from Marriott. The restaurant and cafe are highly recommended, the food was delicious. Workers are very friendly. Would have been 5 stars if the hotel was in better condition.
A great Casino 👌👍. The food is Amazing. The staff was very friendly and helpful with directions. The casino floor is brightly lit plus the machines pay. Cant wait to get back. Its a hotel inside the casino too. Its perfect for couples or friends to enjoy the weekend together.
Friendly staff, friendly upscale casino patrons, and always lots of fun.I happen to do quite well on the electronic table games, its all in your head if you think its out to just take your money. I do better on electronic table games opposed to live dealers to be honest. Plus, the pay odds are better at New York casinos with electronic table games, way better pay odds than in Atlantic City. More money for me, plus I dont have to tip the dealer. Its all electronic !!!Also, Bistro 58 restaurant has awesome burgers and sweet potato fries are amazing too.----
What a disappointment. We stayed there because we were at a family weekend event and it was one that afforded us the ability to have several rooms. The price that we were charged for the room compared to the services we received was awful. It was $250 a night for two full-size beds. No coffee maker in the room and Sunday morning there was no room service till noon because they had a breakfast buffet in the dining room. So if you want coffee you had to get up get dressed go downstairs and carry up 5 cups of coffee three juices three bagels etc. I Mischel he when I called the front desk they didn’t even know that I couldn’t get room service till 1230. I had to call back with another question only to find out . Whether you gamble or not the amenities or lack of them were the same. There was nothing special about the room. I would’ve gotten as much out of a $79 holiday inn as I got from that room. Save your money find someplace else to stay. Unless you want to gamble and want to stay on premises fine
Love love love this casino! Fun, roomy and you can breath wear-ever you roam! No smoking how wonderful!!! Atmosphere is very pleasant. The restaurant on the first floor is very nice, the food is good, although the wait time and staff could use some work! If you have plenty of time to kill try it!
Front desk staff and shuttle drivers were very helpful and courteous. Was with a group stay for a wedding party and had no interest in gambling so sorry no review on that. The food at Bistro 58 was nothing special. As far as breakfast in the morning, again the food wasnt much to sing praises about but we had the same waiter every morning who was just as pleasant as good be. Happy with the service, could do better with food selection / prep.
I know its free room and free play but the rooms could still be a bit more comfortable. the walls/doors are pretty thin. I could hear everything in the hallways or the room next door. I actually being my own pillow whenever Im staying over night. pillows flatten instantly. showers just look abused. but other than that, the casino floor is pretty lively. love my quick hit machines or any other machine that can give continuous free plays, if youre lucky, if you believe in that. theres also a skill to it too. but most important, you gotta know when you have to walk.
I was surprised by this place a bit. Inwent here on a fluke just to check it out and it was pretty decent and fun. Lots of games but when I went it was a packed Saturday night. Won some money and left happy. The self serve free soda and coffee was a nice touch. No smoke is nice to see in a casino. Cant really ask for more from a place like this
I don’t live far from Jake 58 so I’ve had the chance to visit several times. Great casino overall. I enjoy the variety of games, fun to try and learn the new electronic tables. I enjoyed a quick bite at C&M and Jakes cafe. The aroma of fresh popcorn from Jake’s cafe is always enticing. The unlimited Non-alcoholic beverage machines are wonderful and convenient.
The service in the casino is amazing. The environment is very welcoming and the staff is very friendly specially on the first floor. My wife went into the womens bathroom and said it was spotless and had a wonderful conversation with a staff member by the name of Sonia. The experience was great, definitely recommend this place!
We spent my birthday at Jakes 58 last night, I have wanted to go since it opened and this was my first visit. I was less than impressed. We booked a room in advance and I was really looking forward to the night. When we got to our room, it was very dirty, there were still wet cup rings on the table from the previous guests, the bedding was discolored and stained, there was hair in the shower from someone before us and the bathroom sink was dirty. I went to the desk and let them know the problem and they sent someone up to take care of it. When we got back to our room, the table had been wiped but everything else was still dirty. We had trouble sleeping because our noses were clogged from all the dust in the room, the clean towels were perched on a very dusty shelf, it was quite gross. We ate dinner at the bistro, the food wasnt bad and the drinks there were decent but very over priced. The drinks we got for the rest of the night outside of the bistro were over priced and not good at all. Im pretty sure they were serving me margarita mix with ice and nothing else. When we came down to check out this morning, we again informed the front desk of the condition of the room and they offered us free breakfast vouchers, we had the breakfast buffet and the food and coffee were pretty bad, they only thing that was good was the bacon. The staff were all friendly and the casino was cool but the accommodations were not impressive at all. I would go back to play but next time, it would be more worth it to eat before we arrive and pay for a car home rather than spend the money to spend the night.
My husband and I stayed at Jakes this past weekend for a wedding and enjoyed the stay. Its conveniently located to plenty of stores and restaurants. The rooms were spacious, clean and they scored extra points with the bath and body works toiletries. Unfortunately, the parking situation can use some improvements. I had to look for parking for a bit longer than I wouldve liked considering the size of the parking lot. Although, free valet is offered I prefer to simply park my own car. Only negative, which wouldnt deter me from visiting again.

2022-06-25Avoid. Your experience begins in the dreadful parking lot. There are no designated spots for people staying at the hotel and the valet service takes up an unnecessarily high number of parking spots leaving you to circle the lot for 15 minutes just to park.Once you’re inside, the check-in process is quite slow compared to other hotels and upon entry to the hotel you have to show ID every time. There are only two elevators for the whole hotel and casino. The rooms are extremely dated, the beds are uncomfortable, the sheets are rough, and the pillows are flat. Your toilet bowl may or may not be attached to the wall and the bathtub is encircled in rust. The front desk is rude and sarcastic when confronted with an issue and they don’t solve any problems.Don’t even bother with breakfast. Hopefully I never have to stay here again in my life. You really get what you pay for.

2022-05-12Management was amazing, I didnt gamble but enjoyed ourselves very much. Jake the bartender was entertaining but so were we. He was very pleasant and made me my special drink ;)I will so stay there again. The front desk let me check in due to unfortunate circumstances. I give Jakes a 10 if I could!!!Thank you for always making us feel welcomed!!!

2022-04-13This place needs a total renovation. If youre looking to gamble and get a drink after 2 a.m. forget about it. As a matter of fact if you looking to get a bottled water from any kind of waitress service you can forget about that also because you cant even get a drink of water while youre playing from 2 a.m. until 4 a.m. also if youre gambling and you use your cards and youre trying to earn points and rewards you will not get any comps after 2 a.m. because the Players Club Services closed down so from 2 a.m. until 4 a.m. you might as well not even use your card. The nice thing is they give you free rooms to certain level of players and also you can earn food comes based on your play action. But if youre looking to get a drink while youre playing and they only have one waitress that serves the whole Casino which is totally ridiculous. The valet parking is a joke because they take up about one third of the casinos parking spaces and are very rarely used..and the parking lot has pot holes everywhere and needs to be ripped out and replaced...The Front desk help could be more happy they are working there .

2022-03-15Pretty good for a start. Waaaay smaller than i thought it would be . They need to get .more variety in the games . Its the same 10 or so themed games on both levels. Git to say there was 4$ draft beer that day ! Shocked me!. I will definitely go back tho!

2022-06-01I recently stayed at this hotel in Islandia, NY.. at first glance the hotel looks great, BUT once we entered the hotel room it was obvious that the room wasnt cleaned properly, it smelled like an old motel room. The beds were made nicely but the sheets smelled bad, like they could be washed a few more times. We only stayed for one night (thank God), we didnt even shower in the morning because the bathtub was dirty and the drain had a large amount of rust around it. Im just giving an honest review of my experience, and one more thing, dont forget your ID if you leave this hotel, upon trying to re-enter you will need to show ID even if they know you are a paying guest. If a hotel manager is reading this, please have maintenance replace the drain ring in the bathtub in room 814, its a terrible look to have rusty fixtures and expect guests to want to put their feet in that.

2022-06-21Cool casino..small floor..but spacious enough!! We won and lost, but we had fun. Friendly folks, and clean casino. Relatives stayed at the hotel while visiting for a family gathering, and they loved it. Will visit again.

2022-06-20It smells like a cheap hotel and we stayed in a room where the walls on bathroom was moldy and the bathtub was peeling. We are requesting our money back because not even one person there was nice. really rude personnel including where you get a sandwich. Lady said what do want, we said nothing after she was so rude who would want to eat there. Hate it will never go back there again.

2022-04-20Its a good local casino but is limited due to space. Its great for alot machines but card games and roulette are automated. Its 2 floors and has a place to eat inside. Its good for few hours.
