Pretty disapointed i just spent 36 dollars on the combo platter (ribs, pork, brisket) and 2 sides and a pulled pork combo with 2 sides... the combo platters portions are very small and flavorless the mac and cheese tastes like someone just keeps adding water to it throughout the day was not cheesy at all. For the price-portion and flavorless sides we will not return. I guess once youve had smoke on the water nothing compares because this food is very close to the lloyds bbq u buy at the supermarket. (Edit to this post girlfriend was up throwing up all night from this food)Ok adding to my old review since it wont let me make a second. Its been a year now so i figured id give them another try hoping they got it together, this food really is a sorry attempt at bbq the brisket and pulled pork are really flavorless and resembles wet dog food. When i ordered it gave an option for a free hand grenade one per order well i got none at all. Cornbread is stone cold and hard as a rock. Im really only finding good taste and food temp with my baked beans everything else will go to the trash. Def will not spend another dollar at this place which is dissapointing because there is no good bbq spots at all around anymore with authentic bbq.
Food is great and the pick up is quick and easy! Want good barbq hit them up!!
J&L catered a company lunch I organized. The owner was easy to talk to while setting up the order. The food arrived on time, hot, and complete. Food was very tasty and I heard good things from employees afterwards. The chicken and pulled pork were tasty.

What a great experience! Had the food truck cater a surprise party and it was hands down fantastic. Amazed that such a large quantity of food could be sooooo good coming out of a truck. Strongly recommend and I will definitely schedule for my next event!!!!!
It was ok... brisket was good, ribs super dry, hair in my pulled pork. Corn bread tasted like it was a week old. Baked beans were good
I booked the food truck for a private party and was beyond impressed with the food, prices, and professionalism from this establishment! The smoked wings were absolutely amazing as well as the rest of the menu. Hannah was super sweet and very organized when it came to taking our food orders. Joe was able to fit us in with short notice and followed up with me afterwards to make sure my experience was up to par. I recommend this place to anyone and everyone who enjoys great BBQ!!!! I don’t think I could’ve picked a better restaurant to make my party complete.

Great place. Arrived at closing time, but the woman serving us accommodated my family. The brisket was nice, juicy, tender. My wife loved the fries! Sadly, there was not high chairs for toddlers. Poor waitress was trying to close up as we ate as fast as we could. I felt selfish indulging on brisket (its been more than two years since Ive had good brisket). Our waitress cut up some brisket for my daughter, gave her some corn bread, and did her best to make a kid plate. That was awesome of her! Her service is why my family will go back again soon!

Chicken was dry and bland mac and cheese was like soup that tasted like they mixed baked bean juice in it. Corn bread was so sweet it tasted like cake. Def not ordering here again worst bbq ive had in the area
The food tasted good but they packaged my fries and brisket together and half my fries were soggy. Also no BBQ with my brisket. My boyfriend got pulled pork with Mac and cheese and they used the same scoop for the bbq pulled pork as they did the Mac so it had bbq in it 🤮 a little disappointed with how all our food was packaged
Absolutely my favorite place for a brisket sandwich and fries. Their smoked wings are phenomenal, the pulled pork is divine. Their corn bread is out of this world. I have not tried a single thing on their menu that I havent enjoyed every bite of.Try it, you will not regret it, I promise.

This is hard review to write because I dont know what I like better, the ribs or the pulled pork. The BBQ here is just about the best you can get this far North. I havent had BBQ ribs this good since I was in Kentucky. The pulled pork has a smokey flavor but it is also very juicy. I cant say enough about this place. Bravo!
Barbeque for people who think mayonnaise is spicy. better coleslaw can be had at a fast food restaurant, the brisket was sliced deli thin and had no hint of a smoke ring or much flavor, the pulled pork is a step above dog food and the ribs over cooked. everything was underwhelming.
Omg. First time there. The food was so good. Tried three different menu choices and they were all Fab. I always feel the merit of a bbq place is the cornbread. They passed with flying colors. Be sure to get a menu. Youll be back!!
J & L BBQ catered my daughters wedding on September 6, 2015. It was delicious. There was more food than what you expected. The brisket was juicy and tender and drooling good! The mac and cheese was equally wonderful as was the pulled pork. I didnt have any chicken but that was probably good too. They were right on time and set up quickly and professionally. I would definately use them again. Thank you J&L!!!
With tons of food truck options out there, one thing to keep in mind is reliability. That is something you never have to worry about with J&L BBQ and The Salad Bar food trucks. Not only is the food fresh and delicious, and the staff is friendly and fast paced, but we can always count on them to come on the dates we book with them months prior. Having a truck cancel last minute is a let down to a lot of staff and we never have to worry about that with J&L. Their smoked wings are amazing and The Salad Bar offers a fresh and healthy lunch option. If you are a local business looking for food trucks to bring to your next event, this is one of the best options!
The chicken was amazing and I loved the baked beans and fries, my only complaint is the Mac and cheese was sweet and did not taste like cheese at all, it was disappointing. But the rest of the food was A+

Underwhelming. High price for average portion size. Brisket was dry and some pieces were cold. Pork was OK but not much flavor. Ribs were good, as was the mac and the beans. A sample of the stew was tasty. Asked for water and was presented with a bottle when tap would have sufficed. Overall nowhere near as good as has been represented by word of mouth unfortunately.

Stop the stupidity and open the dining room already..Youre not being heroic; Youre taking advantage of the pandemic and opting to create an inconvenience for your customers instead of cleaning the joint up and reopening like EVERY other restaurant has in WNY.Several people agree with me and have mentioned the same thing to me.Until then youre off our list and well go to Sticky on Oliver.Dumb move!
My brother and I are UB students and we were having a BBQ craving and found this place on Niagara Falls Blvd. It was incredible! The BBQ chicken was so tender and juicy! The BBQ sauce they made was out of this world! It was so good we bought it and brought it home to use.
The barbecue was amazing great flavor and just the right amount of smoke. The gentleman was very polite and allowed us to taste the wings which was crispy.
My husband brought me home a cheeseburger and mac & cheese and it was fantastic! The burger had such a wonderful taste and the mac & cheese was delicious, keep up the great work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I ordered some smoked wings. The service was A+. The wings are an acquired taste. Very different than a regular buffalo style wing. These were on the dry side. Will probably give it another shot.
The pulled pork is a 11/10!! This has got to be the best pulled pork around! you can’t beat it! You’d be hard pressed to find another BBQ joint that tastes like this. You need the sauce.
Love this place. Wings, ribs, pork, all amazing. The most tender and tasty ribs Ive ever had. If you can make it here for lunch you wont be disappointed!

Its rude to go to dinner when a restaurant is closing for the night. Cooks are closing, putting things away. Not only that your extending everyones night. You dont know how long of a shift the staff had been working! Cooks then have to everything back out again, ovens could be off, grills etc. Its not fair to the staff. Go to McDonalds lol always open.
This was our first time..my wife and i were on the way home from work..and stopped in for some take out.wed read good things about them...the guys were friendly and welcoming..the rotisserie chicken wasn t ready yet..so we both tried the smoked wings...OMG..they were so good..it makes you wanna slap yo mamma..lol..😂..we will definitely be returning...
Amazing food. I highly suggest the Bacon BBQ burger and the loaded frys! Staff is really nice and always a pleasure to talk to.

This is really good Barbeque. Were from Texas so BBQ must be high quality for us to like. Must eat at if in N Tonawanda/Niagara Falls, NY. 5/5 star rating for food & service.
The pulled pork and briskets cook for 16 hours. The baby back ribs take 4 hours too cook! If you like bbq, J&L BBQ is the one!
I did a pick up order here, and it was good, definitely get extra BBQ sauce.
Awesome BBQ has great flavor did not need sauce the pulled pork was moist and has a deep juicy flavor. We are looking forward to eating here again.

The fries were too greasy IMO but the smoked wings I sampled and the BBQ pork is really good.
Its the second time Ive bought take out....both times, the chicken was dry, scrawny and tasted boiled, waterlogged....the pulled pork, the first time, it was just like Lloyds from the grocery store..way too much bland sticky sweet, sauce...2nd time I asked for no sauce and it was hard, old, hard, it was a clump of inedible dry mess....$11.00 and change...im on a fixed income, i cannot afford to waste food...never again..btw..it was so smokey inside, I had to go outside...is that even legal?

2022-01-24I ordered a pulled pork sandwich with coleslaw, brisket burnt ends, the boneless wing sandwich, brunswick stew, and a side of cornbread on uber eats.Pulled pork: Didn’t receive my sandwich unfortunately so I don’t have anything to say about that.Coleslaw: More vinegary than i’m used to, but good and not soggy. 8/10Burnt ends: Very dry, brisket burnt ends in my experience are very tender. You can see how dry they are in the picture. Perfect amount of fat which is a plus. If they weren’t super dry they would be an 8, but unfortunately I would give them a 6/10Boneless Wing Sammy: grilled boneless wings (chicken thigh?? that’s what it seemed like) with a honey bbq sauce and coleslaw. Pretty good. Very poorly packaged, 90% of the chicken was just in the container and not on the bread. Still tasted good. 7/10Brunswick stew: Smalllll portion for $6. Delicious, hot (despite getting it delivered!) and meaty. All the veggies were good. Almost as good as my favorite, SOTW.. rip. 9/10Cornbread: Idk what’s on top of it but it’s SO GOOD. Soft inside with the perfect amount of crisp on the top with some kind of buttery drizzle. 10/10Overall I would rate my meal a 7/10. Portions aren’t very big for the prices at all, but everything I had was pretty good.

2022-07-01The website describe there $26.00 brisket platter as a generous portion. My husband and I were very disappointed as this wasnt enought to fill a single adult! This is less than 6 Oz of brisket!!! Very disappointing, wont be coming here again as we thought they were worth giving a second shot.

It was either chicken or pork options and only two sides of cole slaw or fries.Would like to see at least a beef option on the truck and maybe an additional side option.Either way, great chicken wings.

2022-01-30Only 4.3 stars? I don’t even know where to start. Ok so let’s start with the fact that I hate meat. It just doesn’t agree with me. I am involuntarily mostly a vegetarian. One eyed jacks and the Buffalo road house were the ONLY places I would eat for bbq before here. To say that everyone needs to make it a point to come here for lunch immediately. Is a complete understatement. This is by far one of the best barbecue places I have ever eaten at. Their fries are fresh and made properly. Not soggy like a lot of people who make them fresh. They don’t nickel and dime you for extra sauces. I asked for a side of bbq and a side of blue cheese. They just gave them to me. You get a massive heaping pulled pork sandwich when you order a pulled pork sandwich with a heaping pile of fries. You may feel like you need to eat it in a bath tub but it’s worth every bite. The staff is wonderful. The food is beyond quality. I could go on. And I will be back. Thank you for the best pulled pork I’ve had in a longggg time.

2022-03-22Absolutely amazing, the devil eggs were phenomenal, the 1/2 rotisserie chicken was moist, meaty and excellently smoked, the bacon smokehouse burger was done perfectly and the bun held up nicely, the bacon on the burger was exceptional, yum is all I can say about the bacon Mac n cheese. And the bbq sauce AMAZING!!!!

2022-07-08Disappointed. Neither the Pulled Pork or the Ribs had any real flavor, despite being well cooked. All I could taste was BBQ Sauce that was very reminiscent of McDonalds. Cole Slaw was decent.

2021-12-22Pulled pork and brisket were horrible. The worst Mac and cheese and baked beans at any BBQ place. Cornbread looked/tasted store bought and nothing like the picture they use. Had to be a week old minimum. The ribs were fantastic. No sides of sauce with a dinner unless you pay extra seemed weird for subpar bbq but it is what it is. Still confused how everything is trash but the ribs cooked perfect.

2022-01-06Some of the best bbq you can find in the Tonawandas, its sad theres no dine in anymore or delivery but the drive through and doordash work well enough. In my opinion the best slow cooked chicken, pork and brisket anywhere.
