Japanese Garden in other cities:
Small yet beautiful Park. Absolutely quiet and peaceful unless a wedding is taking place at the museum. For the most part is quit and a good place to sit and relax, or take a quick walk or a run for that matter. The place is full of trees, small ponds. Little benches are added here and there to Sit and relax or enjoy the view.Best place in buffalo to see Cherry blossoms.
There is a small Japanese Garden near the Buffalo History Museum inside Delaware Park. Located on a fairly steep hill, the most notable feature of the garden is the 3 small islands in Hoyt Lake at the bottom/southern portion. The waterfront view serves as an enlarged version of a pond thats commonly found in Japanese gardens. There are a couple of Japanese Red Maple trees and Japanese Cherry Blossom trees inside the garden. Parking can be found at the museum and the garden is within a short walk from the parking lot.
Amazing experience there! Very pretty. It gives me chill and anime vibes. The cherry blossom trees were very beautiful. The little lantern-like structures were very pretty also. I definitely recommend going there during spring. (Late spring) Its very relaxing and chill there. It also gives me Lofi hip hop vibes. Overall, I definitely recommend going there!
Perfect location to come for a quick walk or to get lost in time for a few hours... I have lost count on how many times I have come to this park with my best friend, son or even my sister for a jogging session. Never too crowded really. The usual crowd may be people walking their dog, a wedding party taking photos or just people hanging out. The scenery is beautiful and its pretty safe. I have walked PLENTY of times past sunset and I was fine. Definitely a go to place for when you want to chill...
Absolutely love this park. Its near Hoyt Lake. You can cannon or kayak or Swan rentals . It has the most amazing resrurtant right on the lake. I was purposed to here as well, I said yes! I also did my pregnancy shoot here as well! Something magical about the location its self. Its a nice layout
Best place other than Glen Falls for professional grade pictures, for weddings or any kind of portraits. Beautiful scenes around the Cherry Blossom season. My family and I went a few days before the Cherry Blossom fest took place to beat the crowd; came back the day of the festival and they had food trucks. Not bad prices for food and they accepted credit as well as cash!
I went there with my fiance for the Japanese cherry blossom event and it was moderately enjoyable for a city event. But the times to go there is when there are no events going on because there arent as many people. And as many of those kind of people that when youre walking make you wanna carry a semi horn around with you to call out their stupidity. But, it is a very clean area, the pond is adorable (especially for pictures), and the area is a nice place to go for a walk. Its gives that area a nice place to relax and escape the insanity that can be the city life. Also, very little about of bugs, which was super surprising.
A lovely short walk with a Japanese garden area. Pleasant atmosphere. Appears to be a popular place for having wedding photos. There is a play area for children across the main road which is accessible via a foot bridge. This is suitable for wheelchairs or pushchairs etc. Ample parking available.
Came here during the Cherry Blossom Event. It was pretty nice, but a lot smaller than I thought it was gonna be. There were only a handful of cherry blossom trees that I saw but regardelss, the atmosphere and the weather made it worthwhile. Seeing the community just enjoying the park and outdoors is always a nice thing.Even saw a couple wedding parties which was nice :)Will definitely come back to visit and just sit back, relax, and read a book.
Always loved coming here. The area its wonderful and usually peaceful. My only gripe is during wedding season. So many weddings coming through wanting to take pictures. Sometimes decent people, sometimes not so nice or sober jerks. Outside of that, wonderful place to just sit and relax and read or whatever.
We always like walking here, very peaceful. It was another sad walk today, because we lost our four legged baby boy over the weekend. Such Joy an animal can bring to your life. Very sad. Appreciate every moment you have. Slow down, breathe and cherish those close to you.
The Japanese Gardens are a wonderful place to have tea meditate or do yoga. I have come here many times to relax and to just view the water. Theres a very peaceful feeling being by the Japanese gardens. In the spring the Japanese cherry blossoms bloom to a beautiful pink. This is a great place to come to take photography for weddings prom or any other special occasion. The Buffalo history museum is also right by this area. Please visit the Japanese gardens.
Nice place with cool flowers and trees but doesnt feel Japanese. I expected to feel like I was in an anime but it felt like I was still in America. Highly dissapointed would give one star but, the cherry trees or whatever they are caller smelled nice so I bumped the rating up an extra two stars.

2022-06-21Decided to go here and have an impromptu picnic. Thought having sushi in the Japanese Gardens would be a perfect fit!Plenty of beautiful views to be had with a very diverse selection of wildlife that can be found without trying. Seen fish, turtles, and lots of birds for examples. Even got a picture of a heron. This place is absolutely a (not so) hidden gem of Buffalo.

2021-11-17This is a really nice area, there is a trail that goes around the little lake where the Japanese garden is, you can find the stone stairwell right behind the Buffalo museum of natural history. The falls colors look beautiful reflecting off the water. I had a peaceful walk with others doing the same.Sorry for the duplicate pictures, Google will glitch and add them more than once sometimes 😊

2021-05-13Beautiful and serene scenery! Everyone is so chill there. It gives me chill vibes. Definitely recommend going there. It’s a stress reliever. Reminds me of the LoFi hip hop I listen to. I recommend going there during the spring and summer. And if you want the full experience, I recommend playing (if you know how) a Japanese instrument. Overall, beautiful place with serene and tranquil scenery! I hope you enjoy it!

2022-05-03A massive turnout for this years cherry blossom festival in excellent weather. A real morale-booster after the last two years. Great place to be out and about, and the cherry blossoms rose to the occasion (as they usually do!)

2020-09-13Its great there. I like to walk with my granddaughter there. They could do a better job at keeping the place clean. They do have garbage cans there, but people dont always use them. The landscaping is pretty. I recommend going there if you have never been there. Take a walk on the trails.
