Java junction is a go to coffee spot in Brockport. The food is always delicious and comes out in a decent amount of time. However, every time I have gone customer service seems lacking. It comes off as though the barista has something better to be doing and can give an off putting vibe.
Came here with some friends to get coffee and a small breakfast - two young girls were waiting kindly to take our orders when the owner came out and immediately looked annoyed with all of us, including his employees. He rushed our order and was rude to every one of us. We canceled our food order because he was so rude and we didn’t want to wait for him to make our food, and we didn’t want to give the owner more business. We were given subpar drinks including something we didn’t order because of the confusion the owner caused. The girls made our drinks and one was near tears because of the owner when we left. Those girls need to find new jobs where they are appreciated because the owner is showing them nothing but misery. I wish the girls all the best and the owner needs a lesson in customer service and respect in general.
Nice place right on main street. Original brick wall and tin ceilings. They roast coffee on premise. Very quiet (no overhead music) some light food available. Wifi seems to work well. Parking can be tough (curbside or find a lot) the guy says he closes Tuesday and Wednesday at about 15:30 because hes here open to close, but that is not indicated on the door or website. The smoothy I had was good. It is long and narrow so the seating is limited right now.
My dad always used to come here years ago and loved it, so my bf and I were in town and stopped for coffees. Terrible experience, felt really rushed. The guy behind the counter asked us twice in a row if we were ready to order before we even got a chance to look at the menu. Acted annoyed because we didnt immediately know as soon as we walked in what we wanted. The iced cappuccinos were basically a cup full of milk and didnt even taste like coffee. I wish we would have gone to Dunkin or Tim Hortons honestly.
Great and friendly service, I ordered a bagel with cream cheese and it was toasted perfectly. The atmosphere was very cozy and homey. Also, this is the best place to go for coffee in the town of Brockport! They roast their own beans in-house, and have a huge selection of coffee beans. I have yet to try their soups and sandwiches, but the prices are fair so I will be returning to try more of their menu items.
I usually like this place because it has good coffee but I went in on Saturday and the guy working was so rude. I ordered a chai and I then remembered And said opps can I do that with non dairy milk, and his response was WELL MAYBE YOU SHOULD OF SAID THAT BEFORE I STARTED POURING. ARE YOU SURE YOU NEED NON DAIRY? i was at a lost of words so I just walked out. This guy needs a lesson in customer service asap. Because of him, they lost me as a customer.
I have to say that the Hungarian Mushroom soup here is amazing! They use fresh sliced mushrooms, and serve it with a fresh roll that is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The staff is very friendly and welcoming, and I got to watch them grind fresh coffee from roasted beans while I ate. I used to come here when in college at Brockport, and keep coming back as an author. I will be coming back to do some writing while I eat next time!
How do you expect your coffee shop to be popular if you constantly kick people out if they dont buy your products? The more people enjoy being there and hanging out, especially students, the more business you will get from word of mouth and a snowballing effect of popularity. Its a pretty poor business practice in my humble opinion. Youre hurting your brand for the sake of sales, which is a huge mistake. Kick out one person for not buying your product, and you lose 10 potential customers from people that were friends with them over the next year.
Cafe was dark and dirty. Silverware given to us had hardened food on it, tables were filthy and not cleaned between customers, service was slow, and an eyelash was found in my eggs! We did not make a big scene, just made them aware of the eyelash. They didn’t even offer to refund anything!Very very disappointed, had heard good things prior. ☹️
Good food! Great Pastries! Fantastic! Wonderful people!I brought home and just devoured a peanut butter pie cupcake. Oh my gosh!!! That was the best cake ever! Deep and heavy and chocolatey! And the icing was light and true peanut buttery! And I am 58 years old and a cake baker/decorated, and yet that was the best cake dessert I have ever eaten ever!!!
Visited here many times and will keep visiting! So the cons for me is that its not consistently friendly, warm or welcoming. There were one or two times that I felt less like a customer and more like an inconvenience. Other than those two times, it was friendly but a bit to the point. The food is always delicious though. Hand-made, creatively crafted and fresh. Best food in Brockport. The coffee is also really good. I agree with another reviewer, though, that it feels grungy. It needs to be updated a whole lot but sometimes its the grungy places that make the best food and coffee!
Amazing, cozy coffee shop run by amazingly kind, and welcoming people. The owners, and the staff are knowledgeable, and courteous. Coffee is roasted in house, and everyday they have a variety of options between a dark roast, a light roast, flavored, and decaf, with the varieties changing daily. And, can we talk about the scones? Because they are out of this world! And their soups?! The award winning Hungarian Mushroom, and the New England clam chowder to name a few, are phenomenal! Kitchen closes at 2pm, so do yourself a favor and pop in before then, and grab lunch at this charming establishment. You will definitely become a regular.
The coffee is amazing!! It is a satisfaction to my coffee craving that a simple Dunkin Donuts coffee could never give me. The staff is very friendly, perfect for an early morning breakfast. If you are looking for a place to wake up, or just get coffee with a friend, come here!
This is literally the best coffee place with the best coffee Ive ever tasted, and Ive tasted coffee in other countries, as well as many store-bought, home-roasted, and coffeehouse coffees in various states throughout my life. Walking in to Java Junction is a treat, because the smell of roasted coffee greets you almost before you open the door. Its small and often crowded, but they roast their own coffee right there. The roaster is visible in the back corner, along with burlap bags of green coffee beans waiting to be roasted. In addition to lattes, tea, and the like, they have popular homemade soups, baked goods, sandwiches, tables and chairs, as well as a more cozy seating area by a window. Java Junction also sells wares from local artisans, such as apiaries, pottery, wood work, candles, and t-shirts. Sounds like a lot, but it only ads to the hometown feel. Outside the shop, pigeons, finches, and sometimes even ducks are found around the bases of trees, foraging. Occasionally, a lone busker musician sits on the bench outside playing a nice tune, without even asking for money. The coffeehouse advertised for other local businesses, offering bowling coupons and local magazines. The owners are very personable and remember faces, even when visits are made months apart. If youre in Brockport, NY, this is a must-visit place!
Bobby and her husband and other workers there are DA BOMB. So nice, such high quality home cooked fare. I love this place every time Im in the Rochester area. Sweet, cozy, atmosphere right in gorgeous old timey downtown Brockport on the super fabulous Barge Canal!! What more could you want.
Stopped by Java Junction for breakfast this morning and to hang out and get some work done on laptop. Breakfast burritto was so good. Fresh ingrediants, I have to say it was just yummy. Barrista was friendly. Chai tea latte was perfect. love the atmosphere there, good for everything, which is so nice, no one policing strict rules, people being nice to each other with an upbeat, active, lively atmosphere.

2022-04-13Overall this place is very good! The customer service is a little iffy, ordering food feels rushed. I had asked for a cup of soup but instead I got a bowl which costs more. The soup was amazing so I didnt mind too much, but still. The coffee and pastries are also very good. I suggest coming in around 1 or right when it opens when its calm. The atmosphere is nice for relaxing

2020-03-08Such a lovely brunchfast. Make sure to get here before 2pm to savor some of the great chef creations. This Hungarian Mushroom soup is so delicious and comforting. Hits the spot. With an artful sprinkle of parsley on the plate. I ordered two eggs over-east with a soft yolk, just the way I like it. I drizzled some siracha over it. The eggs were cooked perfectly the way I asked and were so yummy. The staff is very personable and friendly. Lots of regulars and locals go here. I also had a couple matcha lattes with soy milk, which I love and they make them so delicious. If you like Chai I would also recommend their Oregon Chai latte, which is the most comforting and warming drink you can possibly have on a cold day. The location is really nice as well, on main Street with so many other nice small shops, restaurants and boutiques. Make it an afternoon and take a walk to visit the nearby shops and look around. Also right next to the canal and bridge. I love this place.

2021-06-24I love this place. The menu is one of the best in Brockport. We always order from this place at work and it never disappoints. Their Hungarian mushroom soup is one of the best soups Ive tried, and it has won a #1 soup award. They serve it daily with warm rolls. Their paninis and salads are very delicious, just like everything else on the menu. Customer service is always timely and friendly. Coffee is superb. Their dessert options are pretty minimal however and the tray behind the glass always seems empty or running out. The display could use some work. But other than that, it is large but cozy room inside with a raised level and a couch. Would definitely recommend it. I always get the southwestern panini... it comes with a garden salad (best vinaigrette!) or soup.

2022-07-02Seems like staff does not have experience working in functioning restaurants. Ordering was a struggle and food came out wrong. Food that did come was good but I recommend just going somewhere else.

2021-08-05Good food and a nice atmosphere. Information on events in the local community and a Rochester newspaper are provided. Theres a free bookshelf. Just one thing: dont use those little candy machines at the front because they havent been restocked in a long time and the candy is very old and sticky and not worth eating. But other than that, its all very nice.
