Very good shopping experience. Good selection of the clothing size I needed for a wedding Im attending soon and the check out lady Jackie was just great. Very personable and so friendly. She gave each person she checked out special attention .....no rush. Jc Penney will definitely be my first choice when I need to buy something.

I went there to get fitted for a bra and hopefully buy some. The woman that measured me was way off on the measurements. I did try on a few but wasnt able to find any.
Pennys use to be a good go-to place, but lately it seems like theyve given up, which is sad because as the only store left in our mall, they are squandering an opportunity to draw all the customers they use to share with other department stores. Alas, no dice. They have nice stuff, good prices/sales, but practically nothing in stock. Seems all they are any more is a messy show room for their website. Every poorly stocked shelf has a sign see more and jcp.com. The last thing I want when I go to a brick and mortar store store is just to be redirected to another online store....

Things were marked wrong and then they would not honor the sale at check out. Total bill was 52 dollars and the cashier told me it was 62.43 and she had taken 30 percent off because I was using my card. I left without buying anything. I tried to explain that it didnt make sense and she repeated it was 62.43. I asked her to explain to me how it cost that and she said thats what it costs. Will never buy jc penny merchandise again. What a disgrace. I loved shopping there back in the 90 s. Never again!!!!!
Very misleading sales. I went to some shelves that had a bunch of jeans and jean jackets on them and big sign that said $49.99 Levis. So naturally singing Levi jean jacket for 50 bucks I jumped on it. What it was is they had one type of jeans that was on sale and it was in small print on the bottom of the sign and there wasnt even any of the genes left and then they put a bunch of $70 to $90 jean products around them that were Levis. I still bought it but I was not impressed.

I made a reservation for a haircut and I answered no when I was asked about shampoo option. When I visited the salon at the reserved time, I was told that the shampoo is included in the charge anyway. I didnt walk out of the store coz I was determined to use the salon gift card that I received as b-day presents. My simple hair cut cost 37 dollars as the result. I will not be a returning customer.
Shop here! We are sad to see so many department stores closing, and this store is exactly what you can’t buy online! The costumer service is amazing.We bought a mattress, and while waiting for assistance (briefly while salesmen Mal finished up with other costumers) an employee not in the department took time to get us started. At one point out 8 year old wandered a little too far from us, and my husband went to look for her, and a employee saw him looking and snapped into action! I had already found her (she was only out of sight for a minute) and the staff had exists covered and everyone was helping. It was to amazing. I’m so grateful for their actions and concern. Every time we come here, we are so happy with the customer service, and how pleasant everyone seems to be.
Its a busy store its hard to find much help when you are looking for things. The products are good and they have great sales. Bought these yoga pants had them for 2 years and they are freaking awesome.
Very disappointed this store has no furniture department so I assume it is smaller than their other stores. Lots of sale items, but no employees on the sales floor to assist you. Clean and well lit, BUT when I found what I wanted they had only a display and when I finally chased down a sales clerk I was told to go home and order it on line!! Major pet peeve when I am standing in the store.
Courtney was such a big help. She helped my friend and I get our prom dresses and got us amazing deals. Amazing service!
Very friendly associates and theyre very helpful. This store is always clean and well organized. The thing I miss is that the baby department is in the back of the store. It used to be near the salon and convenient for shoppers. I think people forget that there is a baby department, I happened to walk by it today and that is what I thought of, that I had forgotten that there was a baby department. When my daughter was little I bought everything at Penneys.

The cashiers were very nice and helpful. I had bought something that was on sale and it hadnt wrung up right, so Debra and Carla fixed it as well as they could. They called Taylor to help change the pricing. Overall, very good service. Keep up the good work!! (Not sure if I spelt any names right, sorry).

I forgot how many deals jcpenny had and how friendly and knowledgeable the staff is about their products. I found so many deals on jewelry and clothes it made me wish i had money to spend. The bathrooms are clean and stocked and the store is clean and easy to find stuff.
My favorite store! Classy ladies attire, even mens suits. You can shop for kids, teens, babies, nice deals on fine jewelry. They are doing away with major appliances, but still have beds/mattresses, awesome selection of curtains, bedding, housewares, etc. Love this store! I order online a lot, and get free delivery to store.
Purchased life long jewelry purchase and although my charge card expired, the sales person helped reopen it, while getting greater discounts. Over all a pleasant experience.
Ive been coming to this store since I can remember. I wish they had more items in tall size, but I always order and ship to store for cheaper and return what doesnt fit while im right there.

Needed some new dress shirts and tie for an upcoming event. Completely unsure of where to begin, what size and fit I needed. Asked a employee for assistance and was directed to an employee named Ryan.Full disclosure, I have a terrible sense of style. The concept of matching, patterns and the like leave me clueless.Ryan not only pointed me in the right direction, but took time to take measurements, get me the correct fit, offered advice on what colors to wear and to put it bluntly, picked out my outfit so I didnt look like a toddle who got to pick out his first outfit for school.Fantastic service. Awesome attitude. JCPenney needs more people like him. Will definitely return.
Not the JC Pennys I grew up with. Still decent value for the buck and plenty of selections to choose from. Staff was helpful, even smiled when u walk by them. Good place to shop for family.
Had everything I needed at a decent price
I dont come here for anything really. My phone just says that I visited here. Of course Ive been in JCPenneys to use the bathroom. But not much prompts an entry. Maybe that seems like a bad review? But I think its white informative. Only older generations really shop here, which is kind of sad. I think they need to get new stylists in here or something. The clothes just dont really appeal.

Im not a fan of this store. My wife asked me to stop in and pick up an item for her. I quickly realized that if youre not a regular at this store they dont welcome you. I waited in line while one of the managers purchased products and chatted about her home life with the checkout person. If you arent a regular or a woman, dont bother stopping here. They will try to discourage you from buying. Disappointed.
Very nice selection of clothes however it is a very big store so it requires a lot of walking and if you cant walk very far this may not be the store for you.
Surely sent from the Lord himself to provide us with great clothing deals of heavenly quality. It has come a long way from its humble beginnings in a manger. Let us rejoice and be washed of our textile sins.

The clothes are cute, but nothing in my size. I HATE places that “have plus size clothing” but don’t actually HAVE plus size clothing in the store. I really want to buy the clothes, and they advertise that they have plus size clothing but every time I come in the store, there are no plus sizes to be seen. You ask the employees, and they all say they have to special order the plus sizes... so how does the make you “size inclusive”???? That just makes you like every other store and every other website. JCP is not size inclusive, they just pretend to be.

Good JCP. I love that their is a Sephora and a hair salon here. There is an enormous parking lot and Ive never had an issue finding parking, even when the store is a bit crowded. Staff is always helpful.

Went shopping last night, store looks amazing, the service however was extremely awful you expect to wait in lines on the holidays, but not when their is only one other person in front of you, the girl that was working the store last night December 6th near the entrance next to the mall is literally the worst cashier i have ever seen, it LITTERALLY took us 30 min to check out 5 items. Now that JC Penney has moved out of my home town of Towanda. Shopping at this store isnt the same. I can never find styles that I like at the Elmira location. The prices are much higher as well.

2022-04-15My elderly mother was in need of shoes and appropriate clothes. Penneys makes shopping for her convenient. Nice to have this store for shopping for everyone. Selections are sometimes lacking in her smaller size, but staff was helpful. My mother went home happy and well-clothed.

2022-03-06I love this JC Penney! They always have clothes in my size and style. I also like to buy my purses there. Their sales people are also kind and helpful. Id give them 5 stars but I have one complaint. They need to offer more Wide Width shoe sizes. I was there recently looking for dress shoes I needed for the next day. However, I only found one pair of Wide Width shoes not in my size in their entire dress shoe section; and they looked fully stocked. Their shoe department was also having a sale while fully stocked. In the past, I was told I could order them online in my size; but that didnt help me at that moment. Also, I have a high instep that I inherited from my grandmother; so I have to try on shoes before buying them. Ordering a bunch online to try on is expensive and inconvenient. I miss the days when they used to offer more widths than just Medium and Wide Width, and they had sales people who would help you find a shoe in your size that you like. This is for shoe sales in general. I dont usually like sales people following me around asking me if they can help me; but in this case, it would be welcome. Thankfully, I did find some shoes that fit at a different store. However, it would have been nice to find dress shoes that fit me in my favorite clothing store.

2022-06-27Store was wiped out. I went for a nice pair of pants and could not find a 38 waist . No wonder this jc penny is having problems. The help told me it was prom season. When do you wear dockers to prom. Not going back ever.

2022-03-15I had a pretty unpleasant experience when returning 2 pairs of pants that seemingly had a manufacturing defect with thier fabric. When i came to the return desk and shared with them what i was returning she immediately stated that it was normal wear and tare and that she could not return them. I became frustrated as i had only owned these 2 pairs of pants for only a month and a half. I wore each of them less than a half dozen times and i work in a pharmaceutical retail store. They both started to wear out at the knee portion of the pants. I have several other pairs of pants that are older than these 2 pairs that i work in and none have worn out yet. She asked a supervisor next to her about it and together they refused to return these 2 pairs of pants. After calling customer service, he informed me that if i had purchased them online they would return them no problem but because i bought them in store i have to go through the store. He asked to speak with them and after he spoke with one of the representatives she called another manager over who then agreed to return them for thesame exact pair, i refused to exchange them for the same exact pair as i was not satisfied with the pairs that i bought which then they finally agreed to exchange them for another pair. I felt as that Susan tried to belittle me with her unpleasant demeanor. I felt that the first supervisor tried to avoid the situation while knowing i was frustrated she left the area immediately. Also something else to consider, if i bought 2 pairs of pants at 46.99 each every month and a half due to normal wear and tare Id be spending over $800 a year in pants. The only reason i gave 2 stars was because ultimately this was resolved after all the trouble.

2022-06-25We went looking for a tan suit. Well it didnt really matter what color we wanted because there was only black & blue suits and very few of those. They dont have anybody working in that area to give help or advice like t they used to. So many of the stores have such a few items that they are forcing us to buy online. It was a waste of time!

2022-07-03At JCPenneys I got a sleeveless Gray shirt with a lot of mini holes all over it so you can fill the air better when its hot out and not get hot quickly

2022-01-19I would give a zero rating if I could. Me and my fiance buy a ring on black friday. It ended up taking forever to come in from being sized and we found a better ring at half the price elsewhere. We try to return the ring and we are told its past 30 days and was resized it can not be returned. It was never in our possession to return in the first 30 days and because with was changed from a size 7 to a 7.5 they said it can not be returned. Im very disappointed. It was almost triple its actual value and none of this was communicated to us at the time of purchase. Poor quality and poor customer service. Never buy jewelry from them.
