The store is usually very clean and almost always empty. However there seems to be a lack of clothes and inventory. This makes it harder to find your size or what youre looking for.
We were told that there isnt any bra fittings happening because of the pandemic... thats fine and all, people need to be safe, but where can I go to help my daughter get help finding the right bra for her? I hope this pandemic is resolved soon, we need these specialists. Thank you to the nice employee that helped the best that she could.
This is my go to for special occasion dressy clothes for the whole family. Went to a wedding yesterday in my $24 dress from Penneys (got it during the recent 40% off sale) and got tons of compliments. Same for my daughter (although hers cost $35) Can always find dress shirts, pants, and ties for my husband and sons. I hope they stay around for several years to come.

The cashiers were very helpful in trying to solve a problem I had with dress size and an old gift card I had. They made a frustrating experience a little less frustrating because of their attitude.

Didnt buy anything, shopping for a casual dress, but very helpful clerks and an enjoyable experience. Then visited another dept. store, terrible experience, bathrooms and fitting room closed so passed up some great deals. But bought 3 sweaters. Not sure how to balance that out! Lol

If you wear dressy clothes for work or a smart casual look its a good store. People who work in an office should definitely check out JCPenney. BUT an amazing store if you need a dress shirt, dress shoes, or a tie for an important appointment(interview, court, funeral, etcetera).

We shopped at the salon. Courtney was great! I wanted a hairdryer with a diffuser. She scanned each one and told me what the price would be after discount. My mom bought a flat iron. She was very helpful with her too. And so kind and friendly! The salon itself looked nice and well kept.

The store experience and in-store Customer Service was fantastic they did everything they could. However I would strongly advise avoiding ordering anything online or for store pickup. Billed for items canceled by JC Penny which refuses to even acknowledge it until all items have been received from the order. While mind you still refusing to just cancel the items that have still not been processed from the order (all other items have been received or canceled). Maybe I will see a refund or the items after Christmas. 🤷♀️ but please avoid the stress and dont do it to yourself. Merry Christmas.
A classic department store that you dont see much of these days. The cashier was very knowledgeable and friendly. I will shop there again.

JC Pennys had a great sale going on buy one pair of boots get TWO FREE!!! I am very happy with the price I paid but the selection for mens was kind of small. They have great deals going on all around the store. I would suggest to check it out because they are trying to get rid of their murchendise because they are going out of business. Like I said before the only downfall is when something is gone its fine so the sooner you get there the more you will have to choose from
They never have what I come for. Sometimes they can order it, but often the price advertised is not what you end up paying. I came to buy a TV and suddenly the price to actually get, by ordering it was 3 times the advertised price. Terrible customer service, many of the workers seem like they think they have better things to do than help customers. Many of the people cant even answer simple basic questions about products, especially appliances and mattresses, you are supposed to order without seeing or having knowledge of the items. It is up to you to go do your own research, might as well just buy it through Amazon, the price is a lot better at least.
Check them out.. theyre always having a sale. That means what youre looking for might already be gone.. but great sales either way.

Ithaca store has amazing employees The vestal store... Lets just call some of them rude little bs. Ha. I go to every zoom tan.... I travel a lot and vestal wouldnt be my first pick at all.
I really like the style of womens clothes, but theyre overpriced, especially for a company that is closing many of its stores. Otherwise, staff is generally friendly and store is clean

Good deals in back if store. Limited dressing rooms makes it hard to try things on as well as limited cashiers at times too... carpet in womens dressing room was but musty smelling. Hope this store doesnt close in mall too

I went to buy a swim suit but no luck. Although I did try on some tops. To my amazement, the dressing room I always use was closed! I had to walk much farther to try them on twice. The dressing room that was open was atrocious!! I saw women leaving clothes in the dressing rooms. Then when I came out of mine, I then saw why they were doing this. There was no room to hang or even lay down what we didnt keep! I asked an associate why my normal dressing room was closed, she said corporate said only one dressing room can be open. Well, we can see what happens when that is done. Unhappy customer.

Courteous Sales Associates. Prompt service. Love that they have the tall sizes and also the Arizona and okie dokie kids clothes. Wish they could stock more merchandise in the store. Shopping online and picking up in store works but I miss the days when I could browse in the store and buy directly.

Good store, theres a nice selection of products, the prices are okay. The staff is friendly. Plus you can order online and ship to the store if you cant find your size in the store. Hopefully JC Penney will stick around and not go the way of Macys, Sears, and Bonton.

Its no wonder they are on the brink of bankruptcy, the prices are insane. They send coupons, but you cant use them on what you choose to purchase! Thats why BonTon closed

On May 31st, I ordered draperies and was told by sales woman who check product via computer that they were in stock. I was told they would be shipped by 6/6 to my house. I get notice in mail that item is on back order. I inquired at store and was told JCP could not fill order. I received no notice to that effect prior to my call. I needed the item by a certain date and was promised that I would have it. Now Im without. This is very very poor service on JCPs part. I am a frequent JCP shopper and consumer. This will be the last time I special order through JCP. Now I will go elsewhere for draperies.
JCPENNEY, please update what you select from your buyers or dont choose the same buyers. The clothing and shoes look like theyre from 1996. I know the area this store is in is behind in the times but set the trends to make the money.
Of the stores that are left in America, this one is the best for your clothing shopping st a reasonable price. Check out their sales and youll do great!
Purchased a Tux for less than I could rent one for. My son has used it 4 times so far!!! The person in the mens section was a great help! I used coupons.
The problem with JCpenny... And most department stores is that you have to sign up with them, earn awards... Just to get reasonable prices. Everything is marked up like crazy, made in a third world country... And has 60% off tags. Who is paying 35 dollars for a T-shirt? No one. 50% off 35 is still too much for a T-shirt... Join the shopper rewards I guess. Great... Here comes the spam and junkmail.
I was really impressed with the management and the rebranding inside the store. Though Oakdale Mall is having issues, JC PENNYS is working hard to meet the needs. Worth checking out.
This store has gone downhill! They do not care about their customers. Management should be ashamed of themselves. Let me give you a little advice when a customer has a complaint! 1st listen to the complaint 2nd apologize 3rd fix the problem!!!! No excuses or belittling the customer! Im done shopping there. There are plenty of other stores that will appreciate my business!

Very disappointed. They are refiguring part of store so I couldnt find boys or baby toddler clothes. Toy section was a mess. One cashier to check out and go get online orders.

Beware of so called sales, you will either found on the counter if you are lucky or at home that so called sales are at full price. The whole lot, so cant be misplacement issue.Seems to be unique to this store...

Sandals I ordered and went to pick up were not sandals but a colorful robe. Had to return the order as my credit card was already charged and reorder my sandals. Now I have to wait again. 😞☹

2022-03-28Fair prices. Store is always clean easy to find what your looking for if they carry it. Check out is a very slow process and theres always a line. Casiers are not that friendly or helpful. Be careful using the small paper bags the rip super easy.

2022-06-08I was getting dress clothes with my younger brothers. We were simply looking for button up shirts for a wedding. We were browsing and found matching shirts when an employee assisting other customers looked at us and told us to put the shirts back because they were $80 and looked like they were out of our price range. We were lost for words so we kindly put them back and looked at other shirts. If we had other options store options for dress clothes we would of shopped elsewhere. The experience was really rude and shocking that a person would say something like that to somebody in front of other customers. It was embarrassing.

2022-03-24I have always loved JC PENNEY. When I was in college I got a JC PENNEY credit card, and I still have it today. I just bought clearance clothes for my 8 grandchildren and my nieces and nephews, as well as myself and my husband. I know most of the employees at the JCPenney thats about 4 miles from my house. Quality clothing at a reasonable price.

2021-09-03Went there to see what they had in their Big Mans section and it wasnt as much there as I thought which is somewhat of a surprise because I have seen more big men here and sure where they shop for their clothes! I needed a belt but what they had wasnt a fit so I walked the store! Clean and well kept but I noticed that the sales associates I passed by didnt even speak let alone ask if I needed help so I did me and walked around to see if something might catch my eye! It bothers me that places today have employees that act as if customers arent there and talk to one another about random things which at times is okay but you are at work at least say hello may I be of assistance because without customers you could very well be jobless at some point. Not jumping on the sales associates but it just seems as if Corporate America has forgotten about the customers and yet expect us to send our $$$ in their places! Wake up!!!!

2021-12-19I was happy to find this store at Oakdale Mall Johnson City it is very spacious a huge variety of clothing household items I enjoyed the discounts and some clothing I bought the only thing I feel it lacked was chairs occasionally or benches for older people or handicapped to be able to take a rest to such a large store I do give it four stars
